All of us here talk about the facts on the theft of chickens seriously. Only the other day perchance I discovered Malaysia now produces the best eggs, ginger and durians.
Lo and behold ! Chickens and chicken coops came tumbling out all over the cyberspace. All manner of purported wrong doings with money were presented zealously.
Lest we forget ! The diplomats have a saying, ” The Americans forget easily. The British try not to forget. The French never forget. The Chinese never, never, never forget. The Malaysians forgive and forget ! I am a Constitutionalist since 1954 never a Communalist. Hence, I know where I stand !
However, there are 2 schools of thought at work here on the historical aspects of the optics of how money (chickens) was treated say from 1981 – 2018.
In the first instance, the money involved was strictly limited to buying and selling which was the result of a willing buyer and a willing seller and subjected to a formal legal agreement between the parties concerned. On the second instance, huge amounts of Public Monies were deemed to have been lost between transactions belonging to phantoms who are now untraceable due to the electronic transfers across many jurisdictions. It it alleged that to date, there is no Selling or Buying Legal Document with signatures of people of substance. Hence, the difference between transactions which have legal agreements and those which only involved electronic transfers across many jurisdiction is like chalk and cheese. But in the realm of the media, there seemed to be no difference. The difference is like a yawning chasm.
Whether a Prime Minister should be involved in either transactions or not, it is a question of ethics and his discipline or conscience. No one person really knows what passed through the minds of the Honourable Prime Ministers at those critical or crucial moments. On the one hand, the perpetrators of the Sale and Purchase Agreements are still around. On the other hand, those involved in the missing Billions of Ringgits have disappeared. That’s the stark difference.
Since history is the finest arbiter of the Truth, it is proper to remind all that our beloved Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad created the stable and law abiding Malay middle income group of at least 6 million families between 1981-2003. No where else in the World has such a socio-economic group been created. This group jived fittingly with the 6 million middle income non-Malay families quite nicely in the face of political mischief. This middle-income Malaysian group will provide the political and socio-economic stability, progress and wherewithal in emerging Malaysia.
At this critical juncture, Tun was able to keep all the FTZ fully utilised between 1981 – 2003 to keep the thousands of workers fully employed.
The Tun’s creation of Putrajaya, KLIA, N-S Highway, Petronas Towers, Langkawi, Tioman, Cyberjaya, universities, hospitals, an active KL Bursa, foreign investors were welcomed, change of the daylight time, etc were the high points of a successful 22 year Administration.
Between 1981 – 2003, the traditional Power Pyramid by which the goodies flowed down to the Rakyat was never diminished. Unlike after him, when such iconic formulas were forgotten and the goodies were seen to defy gravity and flowed exclusively upwards to the apex.
As I often said that in our country, we are either good friends or related. We cannot run away very far !

Najib: Yes, I am upset that you continue to lie through your teeth. You conveniently ignored that the settlement was started by the Attorney General which you appointed (and who admitted he was a political appointee) while you were still PM.
For starters, unlike Guan Eng, Riza was never charged for abuse of power, theft (curi) or corruption. He was charged under the AMLA act for receiving funds that were give to him by foreign government entities that had partnership with 1MDB.
Riza never received a single dollar direct from 1MDB. In fact, he was seldom in Malaysia throughout those years.
Similarly, he was also never charged for abuse of power, theft or corruption by the DOJ USA despite the fact that majority of the investments were received, used and returned from the USA.
Not a single transactions happened in Malaysia or involved Malaysian banks.
If you still have any doubts whether the settlement was the best move for the government, please consult your own lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla who says the settlement was prudent.

Najib: As explained many times, all 1MDB transactions where money was deemed missing was either guaranteed or paid to Abu Dhabi government-owned IPIC.
Do you deny that there was a settlement agreement between Malaysia and Abu Dhabi signed in 2017 where IPIC had agreed to return all the alleged 1MDB missing money before 30 December 2020? Do you want to view the settlement agreement? I have a fully signed and executed copy if you want to see. If the court case was not on-going, I would have posted this up by now.
And this was the same agreement that your PH government did not want to honour and follow-up to get back the money. In fact, the PH government wanted to cancel the settlement agreement so that the 1MDB money continues to be classified as “missing” and not “due to be returned” under the agreement as no 1MDB money missing means Najib is not a thief.

1. Najib seems upset about my “veiled suggestion that the discharge secured by filmmaker Riza Aziz was wrong”.
Najib: Yes, I am upset that you continue to lie through your teeth. You conveniently ignored that the settlement was started by the Attorney General which you appointed (and who admitted he was a political appointee) while you were still PM.
For starters, unlike Guan Eng, Riza was never charged for abuse of power, theft (curi) or corruption. He was charged under the AMLA act for receiving funds that were give to him by foreign government entities that had partnership with 1MDB.
Riza never received a single dollar direct from 1MDB. In fact, he was seldom in Malaysia throughout those years.
Similarly, he was also never charged for abuse of power, theft or corruption by the DOJ USA despite the fact that majority of the investments were received, used and returned from the USA.
Not a single transactions happened in Malaysia or involved Malaysian banks.
If you still have any doubts whether the settlement was the best move for the government, please consult your own lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla who says the settlement was prudent.

2. I still maintain that it was a sweetheart deal where you steal US$248 million from 1MDB money and you give back US$107.3 million and keep over US$140 million to enjoy.
3. The fact is that you stole from 1MDB US$248 million and the whole amount should be returned. What you pay to somebody else is irrelevant.

Do you deny that there was a settlement agreement between Malaysia and Abu Dhabi signed in 2017 where IPIC had agreed to return all the alleged 1MDB missing money before 30 December 2020? Do you want to view the settlement agreement? I have a fully signed and executed copy if you want to see. If the court case was not on-going, I would have posted this up by now.
And this was the same agreement that your PH government did not want to honour and follow-up to get back the money. In fact, the PH government wanted to cancel the settlement agreement so that the 1MDB money continues to be classified as “missing” and not “due to be returned” under the agreement as no 1MDB money missing means Najib is not a thief.

5. You say my (PM 7) children were given Government contracts.
6. I did not even allow my children to do business in Malaysia, much less get Government contracts. They were not even given Government scholarships except Mirzan who got it before I became a member of Parliament in 1964. And Mirzan had to pay back 25%.
7. Only after I stepped down were they doing business in Malaysia – even then not with the Government. Certainly no Government contracts.
8. Please give documentary evidence of the contracts given to my children, just as documentary evidence proved that you as MO1 had taken money from 1MDB.
9. Please explain the sweetheart deals involving PM 7 cronies. Did Riza Aziz buy or did my children buy. And who are the cronies?

It is not a pornographic film. Yes, it has scenes of drug use and some nudity but it is not a pornographic film. It is rated “R” in the USA – the same as films like the Joker, Deadpool 1 and 2, The Matrix Reloaded, Ted, American Sniper, The Passion of the Christ, Saving Private Ryan and many others.
