9. Every now and again we get reports of school children being massacred by gunmen. The latest one in Connecticut caused the death of 20 innocent school children and 10 adults. The Rifle Association will insist that this has nothing to do with peoples’ right to possess guns.
10. They say it is not the guns which resulted in these mass killings. It is the gunmen who have abused their rights. People must therefore continue to be allowed to carry guns.
11. When President Clinton proposed to ban possession of guns, he was roundly condemned by the NRA and threatened with losing their votes.
12. Apparently it has never occurred to the Americans that if you don’t have guns you will not be able to shoot and kill people.
13. In Malaysia it is an offence to carry any weapon. Certainly carrying guns is prohibited.
14. How many more children and adults in America must be shot to death by gunmen before America realises that carrying guns is dangerous. It may be legitimate for one’s defence when the Red Indian had to be killed so as to seize their land. The Red Indians (now called the First Nation) are no threat now.
15. It is about time the Americans rethink about the democratic rights of its citizens to carry guns.

What I am arguing is that although Mahathir’s argument of “no guns, no death” is, prima facie, logical, it is too sweeping. My counterpoint was show that it becomes absurb if we bring it to its logical conclusion. However, I did not expect the childish outburst from sudin. I just wanted to provoke some constuctive and mature discussions.
The USA has a constitutional guarantee for its people to carry arms. There is some logic in this. USA is a vast country. There are houses whose nearest neighbours are at least 2 kilometres away. These are houses in the country (ulu places). If there is a forced entry in such a house, even by thieves without guns but just knives, the outcome will be fatal to the occupants of the house. We, Asians, are small in comparision to the Caucasians and Negroes. Even in a fist fight, they will be able to break every bone in your body. In such instances, the occupants of such homes (especially women), will just have to own guns to protect themselves. In such places, the police can only response after 2 days. Even in Los Angeles, which is metropolis, the police will only arrive after 3 hours. This is my personal experience. So when you stay for a spell in LA, a gun is also necessary.
I think the gun issue is similar to the car issues. Cars kill but you cannot ban cars totally. Hence, as you can regulate the use of cars to reduce death, you can also regulate the use guns. Some of you may not know this, in Malaysia, you can own a gun if you hunt as a hobby. However, it is highly regulated. One of the requirements (at least in the past), is that the gun must be deposited back in the police station after the hunt. You cannot bring it home. You have to sign in and sign out. Such regulation are appaulable. It did prevent some mad men from running amok and killing innocents.
Ha ha ha Tok Janggut nice logic you have there. Without manhood for every male in this world there could be no rape, but mankind will extinct unless you have found a correct formula for human cloning. Still, life will be dull and boring people might start killing each other for sports.

Pada pendapat saya sudah ada perubahan dan kesedaran di kalangan mereka terhadap masyakarat dan negara tetapi jika mereka tidak juga sedar, masa akan menentukan nasib politik mereka sudah berubah. Era zaman Tunku sudah berakhir dan kalau tidak mahu berubah, rakyat akan mengubah mereka.

1. At least Susan Rice knows what is good for her party. Di Malaysia, ramai ahli politik yang sentiasa pentingkan diri sendiri berbanding parti. Orang sebegini sebenarnya tidak ikhlas dalam perjuangan mereka dan tidak layak menjadi pemimpin. Saya percaya, Tun meletak jawatan pun kerana Tun memikirkan itu yang terbaik untuk parti dan Kerajaan pada masa tersebut.

TINDAKAN TEGAS mesti diambil terhadap pihak Penganjur (tanpa rasa takut) kerana peserta-peserta masih juga berarak (berkumpul dan berjalan kearah stadium) dan juga melanggar beberapa peraturan lain.

Semoga Tun dan keluarga dalam keadaan sihat walafiat. Lama benar tak mengikuti tulisan Tun dalam blog Chedet.
Sesuai dengan tajuk, saya ingin menyuarakan kebimbangan saya tentang potensi / kebarangkalian BN akan jatuh pada PRU13 akan datang.
Semasa pemerintahan Pak Lah sebagai PM, kemerosotan sokongan kepada BN adalah disebabkan characternya yang lemah dan permainan politiknya yang banyak dipengaruhi oleh anak menantunya, dengan itu rakyat bimbang Pak Lah tidak boleh tadbir kerajaan dengan baik, banyak keputusannya yang bagi saya amat menyakitkan HATI, cth kenaikan harga rumah disebabkan pengumumannya yang cukai hartanah dihapuskan, harga kebanyakan barang pengguna naik mendadak disebabkan pengumumannya menaikkan harga minyak. Pak Lah secara umum telah membuat kerosakan kepada negara pada magnitud yang agak besar.
Apabila DS Najib ambil alih pemerintahan sebagai PM, dengan Character yang kuat, keputusan yang jitu, langkah-langkah yang bijak dicipta dan dilaksanakan.. maka harapan untuk melakukan pemulihan agak baik dan berada di landasan yang betul. Sebagai rakyat biasa, saya amat optimis dan gembira melihat perkembangan ini.
Walau bagaimanapun PM DS Najib pula mempunyai masalah lain yang pada mulanya saya sendiri tidak mahu melihatnya. SEMASA dia masih TPM lagi, isterinya sudahpun agak menojol, lebih-lebih lagi apabila suaminya telah naik jadi PM. Saya ingat Tun pun lebih maklum. Orang yang tidak ambil kisah tetang hal ehwal pentadbiran negara pun dah mula perasan.. tidak kurang yang benci dan menutup TV bila melihat mukanya keluar TV, maaflah tapi ini hakikat sebenar yang berlaku. Character yang dia pamerkan AMAT BERBEZA dengan character sifat keibuan Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah semasa suaminya menjawat jawatan PM selama 23 tahun.
Untuk pengetahuan Tun, seseorang tidak perlu baca cerita-cerita yang tersebar di internet untuk tidak menyukai isteri PM ini, orang boleh tengok dari wajah.. maaflah Tun patut kita harus amal “Don’t Judge the book by it’s cover”.. tapi ia datang dari naluri dalaman, saya percaya ianya reflection dari aura yang dipancar dari wajahnya sendiri. Character ini telah membunuh character yang baik PM dan seterusnya menyumbang kepada kejatuhan BN pada PRU13.
Banyak tulisan-tuliasan dalam internet seperti “BLACK ROSE 2.0” dan sebagainya yang saya anggap fitnah, TAPI tanpa penjelasan dari pihak yang berkenaan ianya sesuatu yang nampak PERFECT matching dengan character orang berkenaan.
Oleh itu DEMI masa DEPAN negara.. supaya TIDAK jatuh ke tangan pihak yang akan lebih menghancurkannya, saya mohon Tun bagi nasihat kempimpinan UMNO untuk buat keputusan drastik, Tun agak sesuai untuk beri nasihat DS Najib dengan cara Tun sendiri dan terbaik.

Vehicles and guns are two very different things. without cars, the world progress will be very much slow. Meanwhile, without guns the world will be much more peaceful. That’s why in Malaysia we promote the usage of cars and banned the guns ownership without any reasonable reasons.

Up until today, America is the ONE AND THE ONLY COUNTRY in this WORLD has dropped the atomic bomb killing 200 000 of people. They are so ‘clever’.
They said that the WTC are collapsed due to fire from the planes that were being hijacked by al-Qaeda. They were being blinded and deaf towards the clear proof of the bombs induced collapse of the building. If it’s true that the fire caused the collapse, it’s the first time in THE WORLD HISTORY that a concrete skycraper collapsed in less than 1 hour of fire! A hundreds stories of building with 200 000 thousands tons of steel totally collapsed in 10 seconds!! They said al-Qaeda must be held responsible within hours of attack. ‘very clever’.
They said the Pentagon also being attacked by plane. However, the plane including both the engines which made of tons of alloy and steel were entirely vapourised due to the heat of fire leaving not even single part at all. The hole created defied the logic as it looks like the plane were having no wings at all. However, they still insist that a plane has crashed to the Pentagon even though the truth is it is a CRUISE MISSILE released by the US Air Force itself!! ‘Very clever’ coz the Pentagon cannot collapse like hundreds stories of WTC to FINISH OFF the debris of faked planes like being used at WTC. Kewujudan Petronas dalam kerja-kerja cari gali minyak dan gas di Malaysia adalah terbukti hasil usaha yang dilakukan dengan jujur dan ikhlas oleh kerajaan Barisan Nasional yang diterajui oleh UMNO. Usaha sedemikian (wujudnya Petronas) telah terbukti dapat menjana sumber ekonomi yang begitu membanggakan buat negara dan rakyat Malaysia. Berbagai bentuk pembangunan demi kepentingan rakyat dan negara dapat dilaksanakan oleh kerajaan Barisan Nasional dengan jayanya hasil sumbangan dana yang begitu besar oleh Petronas. Kita yang cintakan negara Malaysia seharusnya sangat-sangat bersyukur ke hadhrat Allah SWT kerana telah mengurniakan sumber kekayaan minyak dan gas, dan merestui kepimpinan UMNO/BN mengusahakan sumber kekayaan sedemikian dengan jayanya. Kejayaan kepimpinan UMNO/BN dalam memajukan Petronas sangat-sangat dicemburui oleh pihak-pihak pembangkang yang sekarang ini menggelarkan diri mereka Pakatan Rakyat (PKR, DAP & Pas). Mereka tidak pernah mengiktiraf sebarang kebaikan usaha-usaha murni kerajaan Barisan Nasional selama ini termasuk memajukan Petronas. Berbagai tohmahan, persepsi negatif, malah menjurus kepada berbagai ragam fitnah dilemparkan terhadap kepimpinan dan kerajaan Barisan Nasional. Sehingga kini semua tuduhan oleh Pakatan Rakyat terhadap kerajaan dan kepimpinan UMNO/BN belum terbukti kesasihannya secara konkrit dan meyakinkan majoriti rakyat. Tohmahan dan dakwaan hanya berbentuk retorik politik buat modal untuk meraih sokongan dan simpati rakyat.
Boleh diyakini bahawa majoriti rakyat yang jati dirinya kental buat Malaysia, tidak akan mudah terpengaruh dan tertipu dengan muslihat politik Pakatan Rakyat dalam usaha mereka mendapatkan sokongan politik untuk menumbangkan UMNO/BN dalam PRU ke 13.
Berbagai DEMONSTARI jalanan telahpun dan mungkin akan dianjurkan sebelum PRU ke 13 oleh Pakatan rakyat dalam usaha berterusan mereka meminta simpati rakyat untuk menyokong mereka dalam PRU ke 13. DEMONSTARSI jalanan tidak boleh dijadikan satu mekanisma berkesan bagi meraih undi pengundi di Malaysia untuk memilih kerajaan yang sah. Suasana di Malaysia amat berbeza dengan banyak negara di dunia yang mengubah kerajaan melalui demonstrasi jalanan (yang berakhir dengan berbagai kesusahan buat rakyat dan negara secara berpanjangan). Kerajaan Malaysia sejak Merdeka adalah sebuah kerajaan yang amat setabil dan bertanggungjawab terhadap kepentingan negara dan rakyatnya, tidak ZALIM dan MENINDAS sebarang kepentingan rakyat dari berbilang kaum dan anutan agama. Proses pilihanraya di Malaysia berjalan dengan ADIL dan SAKSAMA, sebarang kelemahan terus ditambah baik dengan hasil usaha bersama kerajaan yang berkuasa dan pihak pembangkang. Namun demikian Pakatan Rakyat masih lagi tidak berpuas hati dan terus mengadakan demonstrasi jalanan menuntut satu Pilihanraya yang BERSIH dan ADIL. Pakatan Rakyat (DAP, PKR & Pas) hanya boleh mengiktiraf bahawa mereka sahaja yang seratus peratus BETUL dan BENAR dalam apa jua pendekatan dan perbuatan. Perjuangan mestilah atas dasar BERPERINSIP BAHAWA YANG BENAR ITU TETAP BENAR, YANG SALAH ITU TETAP SALAH.
