1. Hillary Clinton says the film insulting to Muslims cannot be stopped because of freedom of expression.
2. The French and Italian papers published photos of a naked Duchess of Cambridge. Now a French court has ordered the publishers to surrender all the pictures to the royal couple and to stop publishing them. The Italians are also going to do the same.
3. So freedom of expression is selective, not to be used against a countess but okay for the prophet of the Muslims.
4. I know there are many hypocrites in the West but this is the mother of all Western hypocrisy.

2. How would one feel if someone comes up to you and calls you “a bastard, the offspring of sex between your mother and some man who is not your legally wedded father.”
3. Well how would one feel? The Americans would feel nothing because in their society this is normal. Their mothers sleep around with just about anybody. That is the norm, they would say. So do their fathers. It is an expression of the equality of the sexes.
5. It would seem that the liberal West believes that free speech is licence to curse and insult other people without limit.
6. They can enjoy this licence among themselves. That’s okay. But they cannot insist that everyone accept their coarseness and lack of manners. If freedom is a part of human rights, not the rights of the West alone, Asians must have their rights to their own norms and code of morality. Otherwise Western freedom would be about denying others their freedom.
7. If that is what Western freedom is about then how others react to Western freedom must be accepted by the West as the expression of freedom of these others.
8. Western values are not universal, no matter what the Westerners claim or believe about their values. Other people and Asians have their own values. If the West believes that freedom must be enjoyed by all, must be universal, then that freedom must be extended to the values subscribed by others.
9. If you don’t believe others should have freedom to enjoy their own values then you do not really believe in freedom as a part of human rights. Of course certain events we are seeing today seem to indicate that the West has arrogated freedom to themselves only. The freedom to kill people, including innocent people, is obviously a part of Western freedom.
10. That would mean the West is more authoritarian and undemocratic than the very people they accuse of being authoritarian and undemocratic.
11. It is about time that the West rethink their beliefs in freedom. If you really believe that freedom should be enjoyed by all, then respect other peoples’ rights to their faiths, their values and their freedoms.
12. I deplore the extremely violent reactions to the film and killing of the American consul but I fully understand that some people’s feelings are stronger than some other people. In a free world the strength of these people’s feelings is their right. If there is such a thing as human rights then there should also be respect for the sensitivities of other people.
13. Otherwise stop talking about human rights and certainly stop violently promoting these so-called rights. You have no right to take the moral high ground.

You asked me how would I defend islam. My answer is to explain the truth as what i know and expose the falsehood of those hypocrites.
Since when is your truth the absolute truth ? Can it pass scientific test of truth ? Can you produce God as evidence ?
What falsehood are you talking about ? Do you aspect the whole brutal truth in everday life ? But then can you accept the brutal truth ?
Just because you have certain beliefs, perhaps they are strong maybe, but i suspect not, as you are rather shaky when questioned, it does not mean you can impose them on others. You can recommend, not impose.
You said I follow the faith with blind obedience. Yes, I agree with you. I pray 5 times a day. I fast from dawn to dusk for the whole month of Ramathan and I try to follow the teaching of islam as laid out in the al Quran. I try to eat only halal food. What have I said that make you say I am a liar?
Because you do it all not for God, not for your own good, but for showing and even telling others how religious you are ! I’m sorry, i just don’t buy tickets for religious demostrations.
What do you understand by no compulsion in islam? Once a person is a Muslim he or she must abide by Muslim principles enforceable by the religious authorities. Non Muslims are excluded from enforcement of Islamic principles. For Muslims, drinking alcohol in public and zina are offences.
I see, no compulsion, but must abide.
So the logic is no compulsion, but there is compulsion once he or she is a muslim ! It is no wonder then that other races in this country is not even attracted to Islam !
Look, i don’t want to waste our time or our readers time. If you wish to continue living in this silly “boleh, tapi tak boleh” be my guest.
But certainly a religion, any religion, is for self governance, a guide to good living. And this you cannot impose, you can only teach. If you impose, it does not work. Why do you think Malays have very high rate of crime and bad attitude ? My answer to that is they Islam have been imposed on them forcefully. They never learn morality and never learn to be a good person themselves. They need “laws” to live in peace.
Assuming then we go somewhere where there are no laws ( a barren dessert perhaps ), most Malays and Muslims would go bezerk and live like animals with no discipline. It would be like a cowboy town. Not everyone though, the good person will still be a good person, Islam or no Islam. And the bad will always be bad.
If one needs laws to be good, then there is really something wrong in the first place. He or she is then not inherently a good person. Pretending only to be good as that he or she is not arrested.
So laws, might prevent these sort of people committing crimes. But it does not make them a good person.
It is better if we educate people to have respect and become a good person, a good human being. If we just bang their heads with gong badak and expect them to behave, when we die, they celebrate.
This whole idea that Islam can solve crimes and bring about social progress is questionable. And i am doing the questioning. I am not convinced, because the flavour of Islam today is force, force, force. The new Nazis of the world.
And the whole world is rather fed-up with this kind of Islam. it is utterly stupid.
The prevention of this disease is built into the “no compulsion in religion”, because all religions wants honest devotees. By imposing Islam, it has become full of liars, and by that i mean people who claim to believe but they do not actually believe.
If i start questioning them, they loose their head and then chop off my head.
Finally, there is this “fatwa” thing, as if everyone else has no brains or opinions, or could not use them and only the opinion of the select few is used. Don’t you people wonder why we are given brains in the first place ? And you then come and tell us we cannot use our brains.
I am only against any religion or any religious follower that does harm. It depends on our ruler. Maybe in your world beating the wife is fine, in my world beating another human being is wrong.

Salam and selamat sejahtera. Freedom is never allowed by Allah, or by other religions. That is why people in this world must have religion, a guide to do anything during life. For muslims, we are guided by Al-Quran and Sunnah. But how accurate we can follow the guide, is depend on how strong we believe(takwa). The takwa is Up&Down thing. Muslim could make mistake when his takwa is down(Allah Maha Pengampun). If freedom is allowed by God, the result is simple : Let 100 children play in your house without observation for 1 day. Can you imagine what will happen?

Just like the call to Friday Prayer to the Faithful. Every able Muslim male will make it to the nearest mosque of their own volition. It happens every where wherever there is a Muslim population. The defence of the honour and sanctity of Islam is the responsibility of each and every Muslim.
You do not change destinations in mid flight means a Muslim must abide by rukun islam and rukun iman. Enforcement shall be carried out against Muslims who do maksiat by Muslim institutions.

Just the other night, a group of Taiwanese who came to Kuala Lumpur to attend a social event was found to have overstayed the period of their tourist visas. They were arrested and complained that they were roughly handled by the Government personnal.
This seems to be a normal news item which also affect the other nationalities too. But such headlines will give our beloved Malaysia a bad name.
Where was the Minister for Tourism (?London) ? Where were the officials of the Ministry for Tourism ? Where were the well-known social workers ? Where was the MCA ? and so on to ease the sufferings of the foreign innocents.
In the year 2012, I propose that any social or business gathering in which foreign participants are expected, the organisers should fore-warn a Unit in the Ministry for Tourism and a Unit in the police about the forthcoming event and furnish a list of the names of the foreign participants and pariculars of their visa within 24 hours of their arrival.
This is done surreptitiously by Singapore who copied Switzerland in such arrangements. The latter had perfected this since the 1950s more than 60 years ago. All who stay overnight in Switzerland are required to report to the police authorities within 24 hours through their hosts eg. hotels or friends.
Thus, our beloved Malaysia will not be embarassed by screaming and complaining foreigners and we wil uphold our friendliness and hospitality reputation which is well-known throughout the World.
This is good for tourism and goodwill. We should be friends with everyone.

Not many people realize that the practice of being normal is an important
adjunct to our lives until it is too late. Working normally, eating normally, taking holidays normally, loving the family and dear ones normally etc is the way to an evergreen future.
But here lies the problem of ageing now occurring in all parts of the World. Thanks not to the doctors who are the same as always but the advances in the development of the medicines which has contributed much to us living and loving longer and longer. This is the problem for all countries to come.

I stood aside for many years when attacks after attacks were mounted on him and his character to break him down, to break UMNO down, to break what we all the Malaysians, the Malays, the Bumiputras, the Chinese and Indians and others have achieved in our lifetimes. Then, I thought it is time to tell the facts, the truth and not much more ! What could be said factually would be commented on. No more ! No less !
I say once again I have never received money or a medal from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. The only thing I got from him was his signature in his book which I never opened or read.
And I have 2 pristine copies of his ‘Malay Dilemma’ which I never opened and read since I bought them at S$ 7.50 cts each at Donald Moore’s Bookshop, Orchard Road, Singapore, of all places, in 1970 !
I felt it was absolutely unfair that the broad strokes on the canvas of the successful of achievements of Tun and his predecessors were just trampled on – just like that.
There are really no differences in political philosophies or beliefs. What is the raison de’tre for all the iconoclastic movements and actions as if to turn the whole Malaysian society upside down ? Why ? I really do not understand. Maybe I am stupid or naive.
To me, this means all of us Malaysians are trampled on as well !

To cherry… I only see 127 comments as at my posting this. Most of which are positive and supporting Tun “bulat-bulat”. How is it that you say thousands are reading this blog. Years ago, you would see thousands and thousands of comments but lately, it hardly touches a hundred. the dwindling support shows that this blog is no longer relevant, except for people like you and botak. Most like me just read it for a daily dose of humor and seeing how stupid some Malaysians still are.

When I said Malaysia is an islamic country, I mean islam is the official religion. Muslims are allowed to put out loud speakers at the mosque to call the Faithful to prayer. What do you mean by ‘your kind of islam’ and ‘my kind of islam’. There is only one version of islam based on the revealed knowledge as in the Quran and the prophet is Mohammad. Christianity and Judaism are religions from revealed knowledge too, but the prophets were Jesus Christ and Moses. Islam is not Christianity or Judaism. The basic difference is the shahadah, 5 daily prayers, fasting during the month of Ramathan and perform the Haj.

But if i may, with Tuns permission in this his blog, i will be a stupid follower and agree blindly, i will be a very ungrateful Malay and dish out the raw truth as seen from outside of Amin Tans Islam, how it looks like, and i suspect this may cause a certain amount of anger from fanatic “muslims’ like Zul and Sudin, and Amin Tan, who were all raised to pray to the Prophet.
However, if it is not sweet, if i am preferred by muslims to shut up and keep silent on my observatios, i would do so gladly, no problem. Because i do not benefit much from pointing out the errors of the Malays and muslims. It is already evident to me the Malays of Malaysian are already left far far behind in world progress, notably in Science.

As I sat on a step under a leafy tree this morning by a school’s gate waiting for my grand-child to come out, there were 3 itinerant mobile food sellers, one selling all sorts of sweets and drinks, another ice-cream and a third could sell 5 sticks of satay for RM 1. Throngs of school-children passed their ringgits to them.
I could not help but to reflect how far and by what extent that our BN Government had done over all the 55 years to bring such peace and tranquillity to this throng of happy young innocents and the efforts made to provide affordable food to all. For those who hate our national heroes and icons, please go to any school and see for yourself the reality of it all. The reality of having a BN Government.
The children all trooped in an orderly fashion either into their own motor vehicles or buses. It was a scene which brought a funny feeling to my chest that in Malaysia today we have much hope for tomorrow – if everyone behaves normally.
We have come far and yet still much more has to be done by the BN politicians who have been inclusive and not exclusive.
A second thought sprung to my mind was the nightly TV news which we see every night. How fortunate our beloved country Malaysia has been with her wise and reasonable and sometimes strong leaders ! How fortunate that we still hold our own destiny in our hands to vote and bring in the BN again despite the gloom and doom, and nit-picking as spun out by the Opposition to gain votes !
And further, our citizens even though they might not be happy with some absurd mistakes made by the powers that are, still have the opportunity to rectify such shortcomings by voting for BN and evolve a better entity through evolution for themselves and their children and children’s children !
I am not qualified to speak on behalf of my other compatriots.
I can sincerely say this – since the 1960s, their way of life and standards of living have improved by leaps and bounds. I know of solid examples amongst my friends whose names I will not mention. Therefore, I honestly do not understand why the BN is such a big bad ogre to some at present. This I really do not understand. I believe that to continue to vote for BN will give a stronger and meaningful cachet to BN to deliver more to all or else everyone suffers because of structural instability, in town and country. For the BN to win every vote is to swing back more quickly to normality. You see the abnormailities on TV every night.
What do all the above mean ? Malaysia has come a long long way to achieve her goals if she keeps a normal and reasonable path of progress. What some of our more exuberant politicians call ‘sacrifice’ !
It is not a joke when I have been exhorting my fellow Malaysian Chinese to think deep and hard why they should vote for BN.
The reason is because we are treated better here in Malaysia than in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the rest of the World.
Why should we change a formula which have been time tested for centuries despite the nay-sayers who want your precious vote desperately and spun your emotions round and round ?

I was only responding on the comment by abdulazizomar as a whole. Abdulazizomar attributed the sirah of the Prophet as hadith. Hadith is what the Prophet had said. Sunnah is what the Prophet had done.
The point he tried to put across is that Aishah did not marry the Prophet at the age of 9. He really made me angry when he said he found in hadith sahih that the Prophet wanted to jump from the mountain. Why should a person try to highlight the negative aspects or intentionally mention negative connotations attributed to the Prophet. The whole point is nobody has any right to insult or character assassinate the Prophet of Islam by indirect mentioning or by using reverse logic that the hadith sahih was wrong about Aishah marrying at 9 years old and the Prophet wanted to jump from the mountain. It is the duty of every true blooded muslim to defend the sanctity and honour of islam and not try to give the enemy any space to take a pot shot at islam or its Prophet. Any attempt, covertly or overtly, to undermine the faith should be countered.

Aishah was the beloved wife of the Prophet of Islam and the daughter of his closest friend, companion and successor. She was married to him at a very young age, 9 years old as many historians report and she lived after him during the whole period of the four Righteous Caliph, teaching and offering religious consultation.
Aishah was born after the declaration of the message of Islam, between 4 to 6 years later. Therefore, she was the only wife of the Prophet who was born to a Muslim family and raised as a Muslim from the very beginning of her life. She was married to the Holy Prophet of Islam one month after the Battle of Badr, second year of the Hijrah, in the month of Shawwal. She was only 18 years old when her husband, Prophet Mohammad passed away.

Malaysia never was an Islamic State and never will be if we sane Malaysians can help it. Not with your kind of Islam anyway. Malaysia must remain sane and beautiful as she is, a progressive secular state with respect for all religions of her inhabitants and citizens, within limits.
Any religion wanting to take over and rule the nation must obtain a unanimous vote, which is not possible in multi-cultural multi-religious society. This is not Pakistan.
In any society, there will always be religious pressure groups wanting their own religion to be “state religion”. But this begs many suspicious questions such as “what about others not of that religion ?”, “is everyone to follow a certain religious law only ?”, “being a belief, is then everyone forced to have the same belief ?”.
I can go on, but people can see the point and the ridiculous nature of Amin Tans claim that Malaysia is a Islamic State. What he is saying is that he ( and many muslim fanatics ) wishes it is an Islamic State, and this muslim dream i know from very early days ever since the 80′s.//

When I said Malaysia is an islamic country, I mean islam is the official religion. Muslims are allowed to put out loud speakers at the mosque to call the Faithful to prayer. What do you mean by ‘your kind of islam’ and ‘my kind of islam’. There is only one version of islam based on the revealed knowledge as in the Quran and the prophet is Mohammad. Christianity and Judaism are religions from revealed knowledge too, but the prophets were Jesus Christ and Moses. Islam is not Christianity or Judaism. The basic difference is the shahadah, 5 daily prayers, fasting during the month of Ramathan and perform the Haj.

I have not examined in depth on my previous exhortations to all Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese why they should vote for the BN at the next elections apart from a generalised comparison with the grand mistakes made by the rule of the awesome Lee Kuan Yew since 1966 and the hastily patched-up political tactics of the Opposition which are focussed on certain iconic figures of the BN based mainly on hate and nit-picking.
The Opposition has no political philosophy which is different from the BN because they were recently the lower-ranking members of BN who now make a play for all or nothing – a dangerous game using the beloved Nation’s well-being as their ultimate prize.
Why the Malaysian Chinese should vote for BN ?
1. If you vote for the DAP thinking that you will get the awesome Lee Kuan Yew their inspiration and hope, you are wrong by a thousand miles! Because by submitting to the Pakatan Arrangement (a pale copy of the BN), the DAP is in a much worse position than their counterparts in the BN because they are not practicising what they preached. This is ‘ Malaysia for Malaysians’ – a mischievous slogan thought out by the PAP before the DAP’s inception to create division amongst the different communities. It backfired on PAP.
One former leader of the MCA opined years ago when he was in power that the Malaysian Chinese were fasting disappearing into the ground. He is now on the other side of the fence. And I dare say how far he is from the truth about the Malaysian Chinese !
If the Malaysian Chinese vote for the Opposition, they would be the only one group in the whole wide-world who voted against the wishes of their forefathers who came to Malaya or other places, with the hope of peace, stability and prosperity. DSAI juga kelihatan amat takut kepada YAB Lim Guan Eng sekutunya dari DAP sehingga tidak berupaya membela nasib kaum Melayu dan India di Pulau Pinang setelah diabaikan oleh Lim Guan Eng kepentingan kehidupan mereka di Pulau Pinang. Perinsip keadilan dan kesaksamaan untuk semua yang sering diuangkapkan oleh DSAI dalam kempen politiknya tidak memberi erti apa-apa, kerana cakap tidak serupa bikin.
2. Kerisis dalaman kerajaan DAP Pulau Pinang dengan PKR diantara Ketua Menteri dan Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 (dari PKR) yang masih hangat diperkatan, masih tak nampak jalan penyelesaian, yang nampak hanya siatan dalaman terhadap Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1melalui disiplin parti PKR sedang dilakukan mengikut kenyataan Setiausaha Agung PKR. TKM 1 Pulau Pinang mungkin menerima nasib yang sama seperti TKM1 yang terdahulu terkeluar dari PKR dan Pakatan Rakyat. Nampaknya Timbalan Ketua Menteri 1 dari PKR agak takut hendak berkata benar terhadap dakwaannya Sombong, Angkuh dan Tokong buat Lim Guan Eng yang disiarkan melalui klip video TV 3 baru-baru ini. Seseorang pemimpin mestilah berani berhadapan dengan realiti dan sesungguhnya bertanggungjawab terhadap sesuatu pendirian yang diambil. Walau apapun sudah nampak jelas kepada rakyat bahawa hubungan antara DAP, PKR dan Pas dalam Pakatan Rakyat sentiasa ibarat api dalam sekam, mereka tidak sehaluan cara, hanya bersatu meniru Parti Perikatan/Barisan Nasional terkini untuk mencari kekuatan menumpaskan UMNO dan Barisan Nasional. Rakyat dan pengundi kena bijak berfikir dan menilai untuk memilih parti politik yang benar-benar kuat, bersepadu dalam hala tuju demi kepentingan rakyat dan negara Malaysia. Pilihannya yang ada hanya Barisan Nasional yang telah terbukti berjaya mentadbir urus negara dan kepentingan semua rakyat Malaysia.

Let us look at the general outline of events leading up to the agreement of Hudaibiyah between the Quraish and the Muslims. After the Battle of Ahzab, Nabi declared all muslims go to Mekah to perform Haj pilgrimage in the month of Zulkaedah sixth year of Hijrah, a peaceful and religious ritual. Nabi led the Faithful of 1400 companions from Medinah to Mekah which was under the control of the enemy, the non muslims Quraish. Along the way, it was reported the Quraish cavalry of about 300 horsemen led by Khalid ibn Walid waited to blocked the Nabi’s pilgrimage and do battle. The Holy Prophet in his wisdom ordered a detour to avoid an ugly confrontation and bloodshed. Eventually, they arrived at Hudaibiyah, an outskirt hamlet a few kilometres from Mekah. Nabi ordered the Muslims to set up camp at Hudaibiyah. At first Nabi asked Omar to enter Mekah to negotiate with the Quraish. Omar suggested Othman saying he may not survive in Mekah, alone and unarmed. Whereas Abu Sofyan, the Quraish chief was Umayad and related to Othman. Othman took longer than expected and the Muslims were anxious and the Holy Prophet started to prepare for war if Othman was beheaded or killed. During those tense moment, the Prophet could sense the Muslims loyalty towards him was in doubt and He asked for loyalty pledge from every individual Muslim or “BY AH”.
EVENTUALLY when the Hudaibiiyah agreement was signed between the Prophet and Suhail bin Amr from Quraish mushrikin. It was lopsided in favour of the Quraish. It was the low point in the Muslim struggle. The Muslims were not allowed to enter Mekah to perform the Haj pilgrimage. They returned to Medinah sad and frustrated and there was almost an open rebellion against the Holy Prophet.
So, Brother Iskandar Shah 2, are you in the same league as Saidina Ali, Omar and many of the Prophet’s companions to instigate a rebellion against our azan, 2 kalimah shahadah, ijmak ulamak and all our eminent islamic scholars.? Let us pray to Allah to show us the right path, insha Allah, the right path shall be shown for us to follow. Wallahu alam.

With all due respect, dear Tun, the Freedom of Expression Acts in Western Societies do not cover anyones right to photograph someone else unknowingly in the naked and then publish it.
To name Hillary Clinton the producer of “The Mother of all Western Hypocrisies” could be seen as a gross offense to her and one might consider apologizing – a Great Man like you will do that for a comment he may have made in affection as it would seem.

Sebagai umat Islam kita harus membuat penentangan terhadap sebarang usaha yang dibuat oleh pihak barat dan anti Islam melalui berbagai cara menghina Islam dan kewibawaan Nabi Muhamad SAW. Pegerusi DAP Perak tumpang semangkuk membuat provokasi terhadap Pergerakan Pemuda UMNO dan Dewan Pemuda Pas menganjurkan aktiviti memperotes penghinaan terhadap Nabi SAW dan Islam. Bila dah terima kecaman dari berbagai pihak dengan mudah YB Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham minta maaf, dan menganggap isu yang dibangkitkannya sudah selesai. Begitulah amalan sifat yang dianggap betul oleh sebahagian besar kepimpinan parti pembangkang (PKR, DAP & Pas). YB Dato’ Seri Nizar Jamaluddin dari Pas pula membuat kenyataan isu yang dibangkitkan oleh sekutu (YB Ngeh Koo Ham) politiknya itu bukan isu, kerana dah minta maaf secara terbuka melalui media, dan ianya sudah memadai. Dalam usaha sebahagian kepimpinan Pas menjaga hati dan perasaan sekutu politiknya ia itu DAP dan PKR seringkali mereka dilihat mencari sesuatu helah supaya hubungan politik mereka tidak terjejas. Sebahagian Kepimpinan tertinggi Pas begitu takut dengan DAP dan Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim sehingga meminggirkan konsep perjuangan asas Pas itu sendiri terhadap Islam. Dalam Pakatan Rakyat (DAP, PKR & Pas) memang tiada agenda terhadap Islam seperti yang telah disahkan sendiri oleh YAB Lim Guan Eng dan YB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim melalui beberapa kenyataan media.
2. Ramai dikalangan masyarakat termasuk penyokong-penyokong Pas sendiri merasakan sesuatu yang tidak kena dalam hala tuju perjuangan Pas terhadap Islam. Sikap dan pegangan konsisten YB Ustaz Nasharuddin Mat Isa (Bekas Timbalan Presiden Pas) terhadap perjuangan Islam seharusnya dipuji dan mendapat sokongan ahli-ahli Pas dan masyarakat amnya. Begitu jugalah konsistensi yang diamalkan oleh YB Datuk Dr. Hassan Ahli (Bekas Pesuruhjaya Pas Selangor) terhadap perjuangan Islam yang seharusnya dipuji dan diberi sokongan oleh masyarakat Islam.
3. Yang menjadi tandatanya oleh masyarakat, sebahagian kepimpinan tertinggi Pas mengambil sikap diam membisu terhadap tindakan memperlekehkan kedudukan Islam oleh sebahagian kepimpinan DAP. Kemungkinan besar kepimpinan Pas terlalu taksub untuk bersama-sama DAP dan PKR untuk menakluki Putrajaya dengan mengalahkan UMNO dan Barisan Nasional dalam PRU ke 13 yang akan datang, maka amat perlu dijaga hubungan antara Pas dengan PKR dan DAP dijaga begitu rapi. Pas dilihat mengenepikan perinsip perjuangan setelah bergabung dengan PKR dan DAP hanya dengan satu matlamat mahu menumbangkan UMNO dan kononnya hendak mengganti UMNO. Pejuang-pejuang Islam tulin tidak akan mahu bersaing dan menghancurkan pejuang-pejuang Islam dari kelompok lain dalam merebut kuasa tertentu. Mereka seharusnya bersatu dan bersepadu membina suatu benteng kekuatan mempertahan dan memperkukuhkan Islam, bukannya berpecah belah seperti Pas, UMNO dan Melayu Islam dalam PKR.
4. Presiden Pas dengan sokongan padu Mursyidul Am Pas dan sebahagian kepimpinan tertinggi Pas menolak sebarang usaha untuk bekerjasama dengan UMNO demi kepentingan Islam dan bangsa Melayu. Pas secara konsisten mendakwa UMNO menolak Islam. Dimana logik dan rasionalnya UMNO menolak Islam?Semenjak UMNO ditubuhkan dalam tahun 1946 dan selepas Merdeka 1957 sehingga kini menjadi tulang belakang kepimpinan Parti Perikatan dan Barisan Nasional, UMNO terus secara konsisten memperjuangkan kepentingan Islam dalam negara Malaysia, malah melibatkan diri secara amat efektif diperingkat antarabangsa memartabatkan Islam. Pas mestilah berpijak di bumi nyata dan bertindak mengikut lunas-lunas Islam yang sebenar. Segala hasil perjuangan UMNO terhadap kepentingan Islam di Malaysia terlihat dengan jelas dan nyata, tidak boleh dinafikan oleh sesiapapun dengan begitu sahaja. Negara Malaysia telah dianggap sebagai negara Islam contoh oleh masyarakat dunia khususnya pengiktirafan dari negara-negara Islam lain di pelosok dunia. Pengiktirafan sedemikian tidak akan berlaku secara otomatik tanpa usaha oleh UMNO dan keizinan dari Allah SWT. Kita sebagai rakyat Malaysia dan beragama Islam seharusnya berterima kasih kepada UMNO dan bersyukur ke hadhrat Allah SWT kerana telah memberi rahmat terhadap kesuburan Islam di Malaysia.
5. Kebebasan bersuara ala barat atau anti Islam tidak sepatutnya dijadikan contoh terbaik untuk diamalkan di Malaysia. Rakyat Malaysia terbina dengan begitu baik sekali mengikut tradisi dan kepercayaan masing-masing, mengamalkan budaya lemah lembut, ramah mesra, berhikmah tinggi dalam segala tindakan, mempunya rasa toleransi yang tinggi dan hormat menghormati antara satu sama lain. Kita terus berpegang kepada amalan murni demi kesejahteraan negara dan rakyat Malaysia.

Freedom is just a propaganda tool used by the West to fool the people of the world. Even in the US, the so called freedom to vote, does the US people really have a choice on who to elect as their President? Whether its Obama, Bush, Mit Romney, whomever becomes the US president, they all support Israel and the so called war on terror.
In other words, the action plan for whomever becomes president have been decided i.e support Israel, destroy Iran, and anyone that stand in the US way. The action plan have been decided, what needs to be decided is whether the president will be white, black or yellow. The US election is just to create the illusion that the US people have power over who leads them.
Look at Obama, before he became President, he promised for change. Until now, the illegal detention of innocent people in gitmo still exits. They talk about our Internal Security Act, but their gitmo is still detaining people without any trial whatsoever.
Now he is doing the same thing as Bush did. Bush attacked Iraq, now he is planning to attack Iran on false pretenses of Iran wants to build a nuclear weapon. The US lied about Iraq having WMDs, and they are lying again about Iran having nuclear weapons. Same method used, different president. There is really no difference if its Bush or Obama elected as President.
Same goes in the UN, the majority of the countries wanted to recognise Palestine as country and punish Israel for the genocide of the Palestinians. By right, the US, so called champion of freedom, should respect the will of the majority, but look what happen? The US vetoed every resolution to condemn Israel for the genocide of Palestinians, and threaten any country that supported Palestine to be recognised as a country.

In this time and age, no one should be forced, worse still imposing on others and breaking into people’s privacy in the name of religion. Little do we realize that when we call others animals, we seem to be feudal animals who are caged in a culture of force and dictatorship. No one should be entitled to Parental Governance.
What’s the logic in voting in government into power just to find that the same very government ends up Moral Policing the people who placed them in power? kunci memahami Al Quran adalah memahami sejarah.Sejarah yg berkaitan dgn Rasulullah s.a.w si sebut Hadis.dan perbuatan atau perkataan Rasulullah s.a.w disebut Sunnah.dan majoriti Umat Islam hari ini telah tahu bahwa Hadis dan Sunnah amat banyak sekali di palsukan.
namun adakah itu membuat kita berputus-asa lalu menolak hadis dan sunnah sepenuh nya seperti golongan anti-hadis? Demi Allah,meneliti hadis ada nikmat yg tersendiri.

Pas dan UMNO terbukti boleh bersepadu dan sekata terhadap kepentingan Islam, ekoran dari itu sekutunya DAP dan PKR sudah mula bimbang dan ragu terhadap kesepaduan UMNO dan Pas melalui pergerakan pemuda kedua-dua parti berkenaan. Kesepaduan UMNO dan Pas dalam isu Islam dianggap boleh menjejaskan kesepatakan PKR, DAP dan Pas dalam Pakatan Rakyat, lebih-lebih lagi menjelang pilihanraya umum ke 13.

Malaysia never was an Islamic State and never will be if we sane Malaysians can help it. Not with your kind of Islam anyway. Malaysia must remain sane and beautiful as she is, a progressive secular state with respect for all religions of her inhabitants and citizens, within limits.
Any religion wanting to take over and rule the nation must obtain a unanimous vote, which is not possible in multi-cultural multi-religious society. This is not Pakistan.
In any society, there will always be religious pressure groups wanting their own religion to be “state religion”. But this begs many suspicious questions such as “what about others not of that religion ?”, “is everyone to follow a certain religious law only ?”, “being a belief, is then everyone forced to have the same belief ?”.
I can go on, but people can see the point and the ridiculous nature of Amin Tans claim that Malaysia is a Islamic State. What he is saying is that he ( and many muslim fanatics ) wishes it is an Islamic State, and this muslim dream i know from very early days ever since the 80’s.
However, the intention of having an Islamic State is not to serve the people, it is to obtain special privileges for “muslims” i.e. the reason is political.

These are exciting times for Bloggers of all descriptions. There is never a day which passed without any poignant news of one kind or another.
It is now very appropriate to air the topic ‘ Freedom of Expression ‘ at this point in time.
The revolting and disgusting insults to all Muslims by this political pornographic film which purportedly originated from the innards of the Land of Freedom of Expression, has opened the floodgates to all attacks on other religious beliefs and personal rights as well. This is not only limited to the hurt inflicted on Muslims alone.
The Pandora’s Box has been opened by people with sinister motives. For every action there is a counter reaction !
And finally, our own people has been awakened by the growth and growth of NGOs since 2003 without the awareness of the Government.
I had suspected that foreign money was doing the mischief all the time because in the early 1980s a veteran UMNO politician told me that RM 20 Million would give the Government of the day a lot of trouble. That was 30 years ago. The coffers of non-Governmental bodies could be as high as US 1 Billion or more with promises of more if the detractors are successful whoever they are. Of course, to recoup would be to control the finances of the beloved Nation which is bountiful with natural resources and development projects. The cost to the human digits is disregarded especially the young. In any case, no foreigner will care two-hoots for the sufferings of the young locals.
We the common folk, the 99%, the young and old alike, are just treated like donkeys by the clever folk who pretend to be our friends to obtain our precious votes.
All these NGOs’ (under the close supervision of vested interests) demands for this and that, are just a cover-up for the control of the riches of the beloved Nation and its strategic postion in terms of politics and socio-economics which took the BN under UMNO’s leadership more than 55 precious years to build-up.
It is high time for the Government to investigate the source of the funds from the very beginning of these so-called NGOs. And apply the income tax on them with an 8% interest per annum. All NGOs should be liable for income tax at source including the one known as ‘Society for Marbles Collectors’!
The personal finances of all NGOs office bearers etc should be transparent and taxable and all such money placed in a special account to fund whatever reforms deemed essential for our beloved’s Nation’s good.
If I had known earlier that I could have lots of fun and games with the formation of an NGO at some gullible foreigner’s expense, I would be a very rich man by now ! It is as simple as uttering the words ‘ Democracy for Malaysia ‘.
Let the world know that Malaysian NGOs (even the so-called respected ones) do hand out the begging bowl in their own interests and not the beloved Nation’s to rich foreigners who actuallly made money out of our own folly/s and returned these sin money to the NGOs to stir the boiling pot of our domestic politics. This cost the troublemakers no money. If at all, the opportunity to control the local proxies and our natural resources come cheap cheap in the name of freedom of expression and democracy. What a wonderful world we live in ! More and more of everything etc !

This morning I was looking high and low in the Star for my favourite journalist Seah Chiang Nee who writes the only fair reports on Singapore. Previously, he had confirmed what I have been saying all the time that Singapore had a one-man ruler who ruled to this day since 1962 (50 years)and various social issues which have now come home to roost in a country which has compassion in short supply.
This common commodity in Malaysia is further underlined by the awesome Lee Kuan Yew. MP, or the lack of it in Singapore, in his latest dictum ‘ My Mission was to establish a clean government ‘.
I would have thought that this is a normal function of any normal Prime Minister. What is so special about this ?
I was so surprised that many Malaysians knew nothing about the real Singapore until my comments appeared in this Blog. They were naturally very upset and shocked about the facts that they have been misled all these years by Singapore’s special brand of bluffology or ‘bullshit’ a word commonly used by Malaysia’s very own riff-raff.

This film is just a senseless and childish. It was a total failure when it was first shown. The trailer is just trying to get publicity.
I think my Muslim brothers should not fall into their trap. The protests and violence will only give the firm makers the publicity they seek. Muslims should just ignore it. Islam is a far greater religion than the film. As the Arabic proverb says, “the dogs bark, but the caravan passes”.

Just before our next General Elections, we find the World embroiled in counter reaction to a most insulting and revolting film produced in the Land of the Free ( the indigenious Indians have been conveniently forgotten ) against the Islam religion.
Fortunately, for our beloved Malaysia, we had some time to build up the foundations of a brand new country despite the the difficulities to assimilate the 3 major communities and others as well.
The latest under the belly attack on the Islam religion is not without a deeper meaning. What was the intention we have yet to find out ?
For one thing, the film was made revolting and disgusting enough for all the world to take notice and to have a de-stabilising effect.
To de-stabilise a country, this is a common and cunning weapon which has been used on us for decades. But unfortunately, those who used it shot themselves in the foot when their intentions were not holistic and political enough and got side-tracked or distracted or seduced into making money which brought their downfall without end. They ended up with feet of clay. And Malaysia escaped by the skin of her teeth since 2003. Stupid !
The trumpets of bluffology are still blowing full blast to counter the effect of some slip-ups on our fellow countryman, Tan Koon Swan who became history some 26 years ago !
Today, the New Straits Times headlines emblazoned the words ‘destabilize’ on the effect of the entry of foreign funds from disparate sources comcomitant with the rise of the number of NGOs in this land. This is a new phenomenon of the past decade since 2003 and before this date, there were other direct sources to destabilize our beloved Malaysia, like the Stock Exchange !
The use of NGOs to disrupt and confuse the populace of a target country is a new phenomenon for us because we are friendly to all countries of the World. Then, who are the agents provocateur who could convince and assure that these foreign funds would be put to good use in the interests of the phantom hands who might be the same people of long ago ? Hence, we have an interesting age old profession known as espionage. This is as old as the other profession which you mentioned in the Blog. And our Special Branch, hopefully, their plate is full and not half empty !
The Malaysian NGOs are now opened to foreign influence and intimidation until proven otherwise. Who pays the piper, plays the tune !
And as I said recently in your Blog, Tun, Kuala Lumpur has become a leading espionage centre on the assumption that each NGO is a sub-branch of the parent. We have entered a most unlikely sphere of business ahead of Bangkok and Singapore which held sway in the Cold War.

The Muslims the world over have been insulted by the cheap film produced in America regarding our Prophet. It is clear that the producers were successful in their evil works to get the intended violent reactions from the Muslims.
But I think that it was also wrong or unwise for the Muslims to react at all. These producers and writers often write insulting things about their leaders and religious figures including Jesus and others and many Christians are also very angry at things like these because they too have suffered from these kinds of ‘freedom’. The difference is that they do not react at all, at least violently.
Besides the false and provocative stories in the film, some were copied from our own (Muslim) Hadiths regarding our Prophet. Things like Muhammad marrying a seven or nine years old Aisha and of the one about our Prophet wanted to commit suicide by wanting to jump from the mountain. So we have to take a good look at what we teach and believe as well by not taking these false stories about our Prophet and write them in the so-called Hadiths of the Prophet. (Those two stories are derived from the Hadith books).
Let the dogs bark and just do not pay attention.

Bebas bersuara tidak bererti seseorang boleh berkata apa sahaja (menghina sesuatu agama anutan pihak lain) dengan sesuka hati yang boleh mencetuskan perasaan marah dan penentangan yang diluar batasan oleh penganut sesuatu agama yang dihina. Penganut Islam di Malaysia tidak pernah cuba menghina atau memperlekehkan agama lain di Malaysia atas nama kebebasan bersuara kecuali jika dicabar oleh sesuatu pihak yang boleh mengganggu gugat akidah umat Islam. Kenyataan Pengerusi DAP negeri Perak yang cuba membuat provokasi melalui suatu pertanyaan terhadap Ketua Pergerakan Pemuda UMNO yang mahu bersama-sama pemuda Pas mengadakan penentangan/protes bersama terhadap isu penghinaan Nabi Muhammad, seperti yang tersebut dalam twitternya Khairy mahu memprotes Sam Bacile. Ia untuk Islam atau kepentingan politiknya? Adakah kenyataan sedemikian boleh diterima sebagai hak kebebasan bersuara dalam kontek di Malaysia? Sebagai seorang pemimpin yang dalam satu gabungan politik Pakatan Rakyat yang dianggotai oleh multiracial dan berlainan agama Pengerusi DAP Perak itu tidak sewajarnya melontarkan soalan sedemikian yang berbentuk provokasi menghina Islam dan boleh menimbulkan kemarahan pihak Islam. DAP sudah menampakkan belangnya terhadap Islam yang tidak menghormati kepentingan penganut agama Islam dan Islam itu sendiri. Tak perlulah nak jadi jaguh politik dengan memainkan isu-isu agama dalam kontek Malaysia.
3. Pas seharusnya sedar bahawa DAP memang ada agendanya tersendiri terhadap Islam di Malaysia. Tak perlu buat kajian mendalam terhadap DAP, Pas dah boleh keluar dari Pakatan Rakyat berdiri atas keupayaan sendiri dan kembali kepada perjuangan asal Pas ditubuhkan terhadap kepentingan Islam, jika benar-benar tulin asas perjuangan Pas yang tidak pernah berubah terhadap Islam. Yang lebih afdalnya Pas mengadakan kerjasama dengan UMNO, mengukuhkan perpaduan sesama Islam dan sebangsa bagi merealisasikan perjuangan Islam ke tahap yang lebih tinggi, terjamin kukuh dan tidah boleh diganggu gugat oleh mana-mana pihak anti Islam atau atas kepentingan politik. Bergabung dengan DAP dan PKR dalam Pakatan Rakyat tidak memberi apa-apa kebaikan terhadap perjuangan Islam oleh Pas. Buktinya sudah jelas apa yang telah dan sedang berlaku di negeri Selangor dan Pulau Pinang yang di kuasai oleh DAP dan PKR dimana Pas tidak boleh main peranan mengenai Islam.
4. Sebagai umat Islam jika agamanya dihina dan diperlekehkan amat wajar diberi tentangan terhadap sesiapa sahaja pihak yang membuat penghinaan. Saya juga amat yakin dan percaya bahawa jika agama anutan kepimpinan dan penyokong DAP dihina dan diperlekehkan, mereka juga akan membuat protes atau penentangan yang hebat. Maka kita negara multiracial dan multi-religious jika mahu hidup aman, bebas dan sejahtera seharusnyalah mengamalkan rasa hormat menghormati ditahap yang tinggi terhadap kepentingan sesuatu kaum yang jelas berbeza. Kepentingan kaum dan agama yang berbeza haruslah ditangani dengan begitu berhikmah dan bijak oleh kepimpinan politik dan rakyat di Malaysia. Suasana dan amalan di barat tidaklah boleh ditiru bulat-bulat lebih-lebih lagi yang jelas bertentangan dengan amalan rakyat Malaysia.

Actress sues California man behind anti-Islam film
Actress Cindy Lee Garcia, who also named Google Inc and its YouTube unit as defendants, asked that the film be removed from YouTube and said her right to privacy had been violated and her life endangered, among other allegations…For many Muslims, any depiction of the prophet is blasphemous. Caricatures deemed insulting in the past have provoked protests and drawn condemnation from officials, preachers, ordinary Muslims and many Christians.
“This lawsuit is not an attack on the First Amendment nor on the right for Americans to say what they think, but does request that the offending content be removed from the Internet,” the lawsuit said.
The suit accuses Nakoula, Google and YouTube of invasion of privacy, unfair business practices, the use of Garcia’s likeness without permission and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
A representative for Nakoula’s criminal attorney declined to comment on the lawsuit.
“We are reviewing the complaint and will be in court tomorrow,” said a Google spokesman.

Yes the movie insults our beloved Prophet saas but Insult belongs to those who utter it. The producer of this movie told himself in this movie and thus insulted himself.
The provocation accomplished its goal in a short while: as a result, an ordinary, anti-Islamic producer of a very ordinary film, which is entirely divorced from facts and based on distortions, has become world famous. This weird film which is composed of made-up stories which would otherwise not be heard by anyone if these incidents have not occurred also became well-known.
What is astonishing is that, upon the word of an impertinent anti-Islamic person, Muslims immediately believed that this movie was about our blessed our Prophet (saas). This incomprehensible assertion of an impertinent person was somehow taken seriously. Muslims adopted this assertion simply because he told so, not realizing the fact that they have become instrumental in spreading this provocation. They did not understand that they were fallen into a trap. They could not realize that the goal of this poor, ordinary person was to become renowned while and to disintegrate religions. The fact is however, believers had to think in line with the Qur’an and realize that they have been instrumental in making an ordinary person accomplish his goal. They had to comprehend that they had become instrumental in making an unknown person present like a very important individual.
But why have Muslims been so rapidly provocated? There are two reasons of it. First; ignorance and lack of knowledge. Second; fanaticism, that is bigotry. The fact is however, lack of knowledge is a concept that also includes bigotry, because in our day many people assume the bigotry they experience to be Islam. They think that being a Muslim necessitates feeling rage and spilling blood. For this reason, they take an impertinent seriously, invade embassies, murder people, curse countries and nations, burn flags and continuosly mention blood and rage.

Salah satu sifat Tun yang saya sanjungi ialah berani mempertahankan Islam dan dunia ketiga walaupun terhadap Amerika atau Israel. Tun berani menggunakan hujah yang amat jelas serta menyengat. Tun mededahkan diri kepada kritikan antarabangsa sejak dari dulu lagi kerana mempertahankan kebenaran terutamanya berkaitan hal Islam dan umat Islam.

1) Referring to the above subject, in my humble opinion Freedom of Expression is a very subjective matter, the Western would turn and twist when ever it is convenient to them. Or anyone for that matter, politician can also be a good example for this especially the Opposition.
2) The rage and anger that the Muslim all over the world is showing, isn’t that too is Freedom Of Expression? Violence can also be Freedom Of Expression, if you look at it as “Freedom to Express Ones ANGER”. Isn’t that too Freedom to Express? Freedom Of Expression can be both physical and verbal, movies, song, poetry, etc.

2. Love for Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him- sits at the core of our Islamic faith and belief.
3. Allah the Almighty- is God, the only Being that is worthy of worship.

Muhammad, sallahu ‘alaihi wasallam (SAW)- is Allah’s Messenger, the chosen one who was sent to mankind to bring messages of the Islamic way of life and to be the role model for human beings to lead this worldly life in order to have a blessed life in the hereafter. It is through the Prophet that the Quran was revealed, and the Quran is Allah’s words.
5. This is a very basic explanation so that my non-muslim friends will know WHERE the prophet Muhammad SAW stands as regards us Muslims and our Islamic faith and way of life- or deen.
6. So, when our Messenger, the one who had sacrificed his life so that Allah’s message was clearly and faithfully spread to us- mankind- is being ridiculed and made fun of, it is natural that we feel offended, to say the least.
7. Actually, I don’t know about others, but I am personally not only offende but more importantly, I feel afraid and fearful. Because in our belief, Allah loves His Messenger very, very, very much. And Allah IS The CREATOR of this universe, the All- Hearing, All-Knowing, All-Powerful. When His Messenger is being ridiculed, do you think ALLAH does not know? Do you think Allah will just let it be?
8. Do you want to SEE what Allah will do to show His anger? Are we ready to SEE and WITNESS Allah’s anger?
9. I am not – and may Allah Show us all His Mercy and save us all from the stupidity of some shallow thinking human beings.

And I wish to tell my non-Muslims friends and fellow readers, the prophet Muhammad was deeply revered by His Companions for his beautiful nature and manners- please refer to any authentic books on the prophet if you wish to know more. And now, after more than 1400 years, we Muslims still revere and hold him dear deep in our hearts.
11. We would never attempt to visualise him through drawings, animations or whatsoever- as all these would be demeaning him- and we would never-never ever do that. 2. The time has come for me to depart from Tun’s Philosophy of Life, a very distinct Asian and Malay set of Philosophy, although a very polished and highly learned one at that.
3. The principle of freedom of speech is that one can say anything about anyone so long as one keeps their hands in their pocket and peace is preserved. This is something Asians cannot or has not learnt to accept, because we are an oppressed culture and we think that is the right way to live, ie. with fear.

Since the United States embarked on the war on terror after 9/11, more and more participants entered the fray against them which is a pity. Such a war has never been seen on the face of this Earth.

This war on terror is more than guns and tanks. The head of a Christian charity that provided its Duarte headquarters as a set for “Innocence of Muslims” said Monday that he was duped into participating in the
Joseph Nassralla, president of Media for Christ, made the assertion in a statement posted on the website of anti-Muslim blogger and activist Pamela Geller.
Nassralla wrote that a fellow Egyptian immigrant named Nakoula B. Nakoula had approached him last year for help making a movie about Christian persecution and said “it would examine the culture of the desert and how it is related to what is going on right now.”
Nassralla said he offered the charity’s broadcast studio for 10 days of filming but had nothing further to do with movie, which depicted the prophet Muhammad as a buffoon and sexual deviant.
“The final product … bore no resemblance to the film I thought he was making,” Nassralla wrote. “Nakoula altered the film without anyone’s knowledge, changing its entire focus and dubbing in new dialogue.”
Nassralla, who said he was in hiding after receiving death threats, was drawn into the firestorm over the film because his charity’s name was listed on permits for the movie. In his statement, Nassralla said he was unaware that Nakoula had listed his organization on the government documents.
His charity runs a satellite television network, The Way TV, which airs sermons and hymns alongside anti-Islamic rhetoric. The host of one such program is Steve Klein, a militant evangelical Christian from Riverside County who worked as a script consultant for “Innocence of Muslims.”…
Even as Nassralla distanced himself from the movie, he wrote that blame for the worldwide violence triggered by the film’s trailer that was posted on YouTube lay not with the filmmakers but “those who are rioting and murdering.’…

The Iranian government has vowed to “track down” those responsible for the making of “Innocence of Muslims,” a low-budget movie mocking the Prophet Mohammed.
“The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns this inappropriate and offensive action,” First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has said. “Certainly it will search for, track, and pursue this guilty person who … has insulted 1.5 billion Muslims in the world.”
Clips from the controversial film were uploaded to YouTube as early as in July by a man called Sam Bacile, although insider sources claim it to be a pseudonym.
Earlier Tehran demanded formal apologies from the United States for the California-made film.

LONDON – It had been several years since the author Salman Rushdie was shadowed by London’s Special Branch officers, but on Friday night they were once again by his side. However, this was a celebratory occasion — to join him for the release of his latest book, “Joseph Anton: A Memoir,” in South Kensington.

Canada’s announcement that it has severed diplomatic relations with Iran was surprising, even unprecedented, experts in international relations say.
Foreign Minister John Baird was in Russia when he announced Friday the government was kicking Iran’s diplomats out of Canada and recalling the handful of Canadian diplomats in Tehran.
“I was very surprised by the Canadian announcement,” James Devine, an Iran expert at Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B., told CBC News, noting that it isn’t tied to a specific event or a reaction to “an acute crisis in the relationship.”
“Oh my God, I can’t tell you how upset and scared I am right now,” Niaz Salimi, the president of the Iranian-Canadian Community Council, said in an interview with Embassy magazine.
Baird’s statement lists a series of old grievances but does not say what specifically prompted the surprise move.
He did say “the Iranian regime has shown blatant disregard for the Vienna Convention and its guarantee of protection for diplomatic personnel,” likely a reference to the ransacking of the British Embassy in Tehran by protesters in 2011 while Iranian police looked on.
He also alluded to the safety of Canadian diplomats — something Canada’s last ambassador to Iran, John Mundy, told the CBC’s Nancy Wilson has been a long-standing concern, though he noted the government has not provided any information about specific threats.
Mundy, who was expelled from Iran in 2007, has since retired from the diplomatic corps. He called Canada’s action “a very drastic step” and one that surprised him, too.
In an interview Saturday on CBC Radio’s The House, Baird emphasized his “concern was for the safety of the men and women working at the Canadian mission,” but when asked by host Evan Solomon whether there was “something specific” he conceded there was “not a direct threat” or an increased security risk.
“The mission in Tehran is not one of the safest we have,” Baird also told Solomon. “It faces a busy road and it could be overrun pretty quickly.”
Janice Stein, arguably Canada’s leading Middle East expert and the director of the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, told CBC News she sees the move as an “issue of security for diplomatic personnel in Tehran as the sanctions ramp up, and Canada’s remaining diplomatic personnel would be a prime target were crowds to turn hostile.”

Canada in the headlines
Canada’s move is making international headlines and its significance shouldn’t be underestimated.
Even after its embassy in Tehran was ransacked — an attack Ambassador Dominick Chilcott described as “a state-supported activity — Britain did not suspend diplomatic relations, although it did expel Iran’s diplomats.
At the time, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg told the BBC the U.K.’s response “doesn’t mean we’re cutting off all diplomatic relations with Iran; it doesn’t mean we are in any way lessening our determination to try to find a diplomatic solution to the nuclear question.”
So why did Canada suspend relations now?
Devine points to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran last week. Iranian officials boasted about a successful summit, which involved most countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America.
He says the summit “was not an overwhelming success for Iran but demonstrated they are not as isolated as the West would hope.”
The West is trying to isolate Iran over the dispute about Iran’s nuclear program. In that context, Devine says, Canada may be trying to send “a symbolic message to Iran after the NAM meeting that they should not conclude that their isolation is over or that they can escape western pressure.”
He believes the suspension’s timing could be related to Canada’s Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act, which allows victims of terrorism to sue a country that Canada lists as a state sponsor of terrorism. On Friday, Baird said he was adding Iran to that list, along with Syria.
The act, passed in March, gave the federal cabinet until mid-September to list states sponsoring terrorism.
Why make the announcement in Russia?
“The timing and the way they did it is rather awkward because they chose to announce it on the doorstep of Russia, which is the country that is the strongest proponent of the negotiated settlement to the nuclear issue,” Mundy said, calling Canada’s announcement “an implicit criticism of Russian policy toward Iran.”
However, the timing may also be connected with when the last Canadian diplomats left Iran, which was ahead of the announcement. That Baird made the announcement in Russia also raises the question of whether there was some urgency for Canada’s actions.
Ray Boisvert, the assistant director of Canadian Security Intelligence Service until April 2012, told Solomon that Canada’s move was unprecedented, since that is something that only “usually happens in very severe conditions.” He also noted that Canada does not normally take the lead in this kind of foreign policy action.
Boisvert also pointed to what he said was the Iranian Embassy “running some kind of threatening operation” aimed at the Iranian community in Canada. According to Boisvert, Iran “absolutely” poses a security threat in Canada.
Kaveh Shahrooz, vice president of the Iranian-Canada Congress, told Wilson that “members of the community are worried if they partake or speak out, that will be reported to [the Iranian Embassy in] Ottawa and there’ll be repercussions for that person if they go back home, or for their family.”
“We’ve been concerned for some time about the actions taken by the mission in Ottawa,” Baird told Solomon.
Possible military strike
Mundy, Salimi and others point to a possible military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities as a motive behind Canada’s announcement.
“For us, it’s an immediate sign of attack on Iran,” Salimi told Embassy magazine.
However, Baird said on The House that the government has “received no notice of any decision taken by the United States or Israel in this regard, so I can categorically say that the timing of the decision had nothing to with an imminent strike. ”

For his part, Devine said an imminent strike is not on tap.
“The signs don’t suggest there’s an imminent attack coming from the Israelis or the Americans right now. And the Americans, especially, are not going to want to get into anything until the elections are over.”
Stein also told CBC News she does “not believe Canada’s action was in response to any intelligence information about an imminent strike.”
The U.S. has been building up its forces in the region and putting pressure on Iran, Devine points out,
“They want to make sure the Iranians feel there is a possibility of attack, because if the Iranians were ever to decide there is no chance the Americans are going to attack, their [American] leverage would be significantly reduced. Building up forces is consistent not just with an attack but consistent with the idea they are trying to use pressure.”
Stein agrees: “The U.S. is at pains to say there is no specific intelligence yet that suggests the Iranians have made the decision to weaponize their nuclear program and, given that, I would be very, very surprised if President [Barack] Obama would resort to force before the election.”
Iranian Canadians will feel it most
The Canadian government’s move is likely to have little impact in Iran.
“The Iranians are not looking at Canada as that important an actor in all of this,” Devine said, adding Canada’s economic relations with the Islamist nation have gradually weakened.
Stein holds a similar view, noting that “the Iranian government certainly knows where we stand, we’ve made our position forcefully.”
Ken Taylor, who was Canada’s ambassador in Iran during the U.S. hostage crisis that began in 1979, told CBC’s Hannah Thibedeau he doesn’t agree with Canada’s decision to suspend diplomatic relations.
“Given Canada’s status as an international player, there’s great value to having someone there on the ground who can interpret what is going on, to the extent that there are challenges to doing that properly,” he said.
Mundy said that now, “We no longer have the ability to communicate directly, government to government, with the Iranian government.”
Stein says, “The major impact will be on the Iranian diaspora in Canada, which will have a lot more difficulty getting visas to go home for visits.”
Canadians imprisoned in Iran
Another significant impact to Mundy is that “we no longer have Canadian diplomats on the ground to protect the interests of Canadian citizens” in Iran. “There are a lot of Canadian citizens in Iran, some of whom are in jail, and some of whom depend upon the Canadian diplomats to make representations on their behalf.”
Hamid Ghassemi-Shall, a Canadian citizen jailed in Iran since 2008, is one of three Canadians being held in Iran’s notorious Evin prison, the same prison where Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi was killed in 2003, which led to a serious worsening of relations between the two countries.
Iran sentenced Ghassemi-Shall to death in 2009.
His wife, Antonella Mega, told Thibedeau on Power and Politics that she feels the Canadian announcement is “a great disappointment for me and Hamid.” The diplomats who have now left Iran “have expressed great concern for Hamid’s case” and “have been continuously advocating for him.”
Feeling that “a door is now closed,” Mega said she wants to hear from the Canadian government, “What is the plan that Canada has to help Hamid?”

Although an estimated 23% of the world’s population is Muslim, creating brands and marketing strategies that resonate among Muslims is tricky business. Living in more than 200 countries with a wide range of cultural traditions, ethnic backgrounds and standards of living, Muslims hardly constitute a homogenous single market.
Yet, as Paul Temporal points out in his book Islamic Branding and Marketing: Creating a Global Islamic Business, there are shared Islamic values that non-Muslim companies can tap into to reach Muslim consumers, and that Muslim companies can better leverage to go global. While few Muslim companies have built brands extending beyond their nation’s borders (and those few mostly in the oil and gas industry), Temporal offers international companies straightforward advice on integrating themselves into Muslim markets.
The demand for halal products and services (the word halal means “lawful”) is one commonality of Muslim life from Muslim-majority countries like Saudi Arabia and Indonesia to Muslim-minority countries like France, Germany and the U.S. “The term is most frequently linked to food that is permissible according to Islamic law, but in fact it applies to all categories of products and services used in Muslim life,” writes Temporal, who is an associate fellow at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in the U.K. “Conforming strictly to Islamic law means that everything a Muslim does must be halal. In reality, however… there are different degrees of religiosity practised, from orthodox to liberal.” Halal products not only meet the requirements of Shariah law, which is drawn from a variety of sources including the Qur’an, they are also a mark of purity and quality. Interestingly, one study suggests that 16% of U.S. Muslims buy kosher food when they are not able to gain access to halal products.
Sectors where halal is especially important include food and beverage; education; tourism and hospitality; medical and pharmaceutical products and services; entertainment; financial products and services; cosmetics and personal care; and Internet and digital products and services. The Noor Global Brand Index, a 2010 study of consumer perceptions of halal status, ranks Europe-based brands like Lipton and Nestlé at the top, showing that country of origin matters less than a well-executed commitment to halal principles.
Globalization and rising incomes in many emerging economies have, perhaps unexpectedly, made halal increasingly important to Muslim identity. In a case study of OnePure, a cosmetics company founded in 2007 by Canadian-born Muslim Layla Mandi, the marketing strategy targets affluent Muslim women who appreciate global brands like Clinique, Lancôme and Chanel, but see an added value in halal-certified products. Designed and formulated in Canada, OnePure uses financial products and services from Emirates Islamic Bank (which follow Shariah principles, including not charging interest), sources halal raw materials, ensures products don’t come in contact with non-halal products or processes, such as machinery cleaned with substances containing alcohol, uses halal-compliant transportation and storage throughout its supply chain and ensures that its female sales personnel wear abayas, loose dresses meant to protect their modesty.
“This enterprise shows that, with determination, Islamic brands can penetrate every market and attract non-Muslim consumers as well—for example, people who are interested in organic, eco-friendly, ethical and authentic beauty products,” writes Temporal.
Attaining halal accreditation is not straightforward, since different regions, countries and communities have different standards. Brunei Darussalam, a Muslim country with a population of about 381,000, is trying to overcome these hurdles to become a major player in the global halal industry. In 2009, the government launched the Brunei Halal Brand which, although not necessarily universally accepted, sets a high benchmark for its certification processes. “Having obtained certification in Brunei, products can generally be expected to pass audits undertaken by other countries,” writes Temporal.
Reaching Muslim women remains a challenge. Tougher still is reaching Muslims in emerging markets in regions such as North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, the Mideast and Asia-Pacific, though increased penetration of mobile communication technology is making that easier.
“The use of digital channels by brands also allows marketers to carefully target Muslim consumers without over-using their ‘religious’ identity to attract their attention,” writes Temporal.
At the top end of the market, increasing incomes in countries such as Malaysia, India and Indonesia mean an appetite for luxury products. Closer to home, the number of Muslims in Canada are expected to nearly triple in the next 20 years, from about 940,000 in 2010 to nearly 2.7 million in 2030. Unlike Muslim minorities in much of Western Europe, who tend to be much poorer than average, North American Muslims are more likely to have incomes comparable to their non-Muslim peers.
“However one slices and dices the numbers, there is no escaping the fact that the Muslim population is not only huge, it is growing,” writes Temporal.

The YouTube video is blamed for inciting riots in Egypt and Libya where the U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed along with three other American embassy personnel. Angry demonstrations have spread throughout the Muslim world Friday.
“Do I have blood on my hands? No. Did I kill this guy? No,” said Klein. “Do I feel guilty that these people were incited? Guess what? I didn’t incite them. They’re pre-incited, they’re pre-programmed to do this.”

We Asian must start on initiatives to conquer the world meaning to reword those phrase and force the West to accept our values.

Just to add, regardless of the pain resulting from the insult, Muslims resort to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. We must remind each other on this. As it may be easier said than done. Ask ourselves before making any response: Would Rasulullah S.A.W approve the response that we are about to commit? If we think he would, then we can proceed to respond. Kalau sayang Rasulullah, let us follow his examples.
