SUBANG

1. I was sad when Subang International airport was replaced by the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang. I landed at Subang in a Government jet and saw the place deserted and quiet. No aircrafts were parked, taxiing, taking off or landing. Subang was a busy place from 1964 to 1998. But after the opening of KLIA at Sepang, Subang seemed to have been abandoned.

2. That was 1998. I despaired that it would ever be busy again; that it would regain its place as a major airport.

3. Well, it hasn’t. But Subang did not close down completely. Today Subang is once again busy. Today Subang is actually expanding.

4. New hangars are being built. The old Terminal 2 has been rebuilt to cater to the needs of Firefly’s turboprops and other local airlines. Two Fixed Based Operators, the Skypark and D’Nest handle a large number of private jets.

5. Airod, the former Aircraft Ordinance Depot of the RMAF, now operated as a private Company, accommodates a large number of passenger jets, which are serviced there. The old MAS engineering facilities are as busy as ever. MAS still do their engineering and servicing in the huge hangars there.

6. Foreign manufacturers of helicopters such as Eurocopter as well as Cessna general aviation have servicing and engineering facilities in Subang. Asian airlines often send their passenger jets for servicing by Malaysian aerospace companies.

7. New hangars and facilities are being built, necessitating expansion into the surrounding land. “Spirit” a well-known American composite manufacturer has a huge facility which will manufacture parts for the latest Boeing passenger jets.

8. Clearly a lot of investments are going into the reactivating of Subang. It reflects the growth of the aerospace industries in Malaysia, which contributes toward Malaysia’s economic growth.

9. On the north side of the runway the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base has been joined by the newly established Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency. The new service operates fixed-wing aircrafts and helicopters including two Bombardier fire-fighting amphibian aircrafts.

10. Malaysia’s economic growth is real. Only the blind and the deaf will maintain that it is not real.

On corruption, I have always said that as long as there is Man and there is Woman, there is corruption. The index of corruption as reported by the Washington Post places Malaysia as No.1 in the World. This is released just before our 13th General Elections and the formulation of how the index is derived is opaque and not transparent. A glance at the supportive right up told me that it was largely based on foreign investors trying to do business in Malaysia and specifically going for Government tenders. On this score, Malaysia attained the label of No. 1 in corruption. Is this fair ?
We noticed that there are corruption in our neighbourhood like sex for grades or for contracts. This is 2013. I can tell you that there are other authentic cases going back to 1970 of a like kind. And others which have been legalised and are much worse amounting to big big bucks. There is always some women involved.
Our forefathers used to pay tributes to the incumbent Royalty in the Peninsula. Later, the British arrived and the prospective clients of British banks used to give wonderful hampers to the managers at Christmas.
A person must recognise the difference between a corruption offence and the presentation of a gift of goodwill. For example, the Japanese are fond of presenting the business associates with small presents. But in Eastern business relationships, others might expect something more than this. However, European businessmen have always had the desire to taste the goodies out here in the exotic East. So, when businessmen do not get what they want, they throw accusations in all sorts of directions. This the next BN Government should rectify and I am certain we would not be on the 88th storey of the Corruption Index.
It is unhealthy for our body politik to involve outsiders and foreigners in our domestic politics. As we can see, anything goes. We have already had this DAP founded by Lee Kuan Yew and had always kept a Chinese chauvinistic stance and now jump into bed with 2 extremists, one very rich and the other very religious after mischievously shouting ‘Malaysia for Malaysians’ for 44 long years. That was A-OK. They now say, ‘ Malaysian Politics is Malay based ‘ and they are treated 3rd class. This is also OK. It is OK to do anything that pulls down the BN Government as led by the UMNO with the 14 component parties which ruled Malaysia in peace, harmony and prosperity for over 55 years. This is not corruption. Nobody’s mind is affected because it has been thoroughly brainwashed !

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese. You will find the worst corruption happens in the cleanest places because these LEGALISED ! This is what makes it worst !

The next 13th General Elections is the Mother of all elections (previously mentioned about 2 years ago) and the ultimate battle between the BN with the 14 component parties and the 3 separate Opposition parties known collectively as the PR. As the good Dr Tony Pua rightly pointed out that Malaysian Politics is Malay based, it is imperative that all Malays and Bumiputras and all Malaysians rally around the BN as led by UMNO with the 14 component parties to preserve what is historical legacy and push forward in keeping with world trends in the years to come. We cannot allow 3 separate parties which seem to be leaderless to rule the country being the DAP-Singaporean. the PKR-very rich. the PAS-very religious. with 3 different political philosophies. Some States like Pulau Pinang now is stacked up with crypto-Singaporeans or another State having the latest laws of the World or another without conformity to the other 2 States. Everything will be in a mess and domestic and foreign investors will look askance at such an absurd state of affairs.

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese for conformity’s sake !

  3. SALAM Tun,

  4. Dear Tun,
Let us compare and contrast the manifestos from both sides of the political divides namely the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat. Let us put all sentiment and emotion aside and debate the issue based on facts, acceptable theories and principles.
After studying the manifestos from BN and PR, we should stay the course with Barisan Nasional. I base my decision on facts, convention and hunch. Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto is contradicting itself as much as the Barisan National Manifesto is confusing, superficial and lack of direction.
Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto is structurally defective. It is not dissimilar to a malignant cancer which can quicken the demise of the economy of Malaysia to become an economically failed state like what the Greek Cyprus is experiencing now.
    1. At a glance, the total abolishment of PTPTN sounds attractive and exciting. But rm2 billions annually are at stake here. If we abolish the loans and give free university education, the government needs to find rm2 billions every year to cover the opportunity cost of PTPTN. In the same breath we shout so loudly about the undesirable increase of national debts. Why must we give free university education when the loan repayment is so considerate and has value for money. No interest is charged. In fact we model our PTPTN after the same scheme in the UK and USA. We should congratulate the government for being able to provide such good education to the voters and their children.
    2. The same reasoning can be attributed to reducing petrol price and toll on highways and the desire to reduce national debts. If we substantially reduce patrol price and abolish all the tolls on the highways, I can guarantee our national debts would not be manageable. In addition it costs money to maintain the highways. Everybody prefers free patrol, no toll on highways and no national debts. That is utopia. It happens only in Paradise. Yes, I absolutely agree that we must not pay any tolls on the highways, we must drastically reduce patrol price and at the same time no deficit in national budget. Unfortunately, that is not possible and not logical. There goes Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto.
The purported corruption in UMNO is only political propaganda. No more, no less. It has never been an UMNO policy nor BN policy to encourage nepotism, cronyism and bribery. It is human prejudice, greed and selfishness that cause and perpetuate corruption due to bribery and nepotism. Nepotism occurs in every political struggle of human society. Please do not tell me the opposition politicians are saints (malaikat).
I am glad to hear that Barisan Nasional has copycat Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto in reducing 20% to 30% car price. That means to say Datuk Seri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak is a good man and a good Prime Minister. He swallowed personal ego and adopt what is good for the country and people by reducing car price and increase policemen to reduce crimes. Now I see the reasons why he delayed announcing the election date, so that he can copy some good points from Pakatan Rakyat. So after the BN sucks the juice from the opposition, there is nothing left of PR. I would say Datuk Seri Najib is the best Prime Minister ever for Malaysia.
BN has the advantage of incumbency and also the good points in the manifesto from BN as well as PR.

    amin tan

I was struck by two NSTP headliners this morning. ‘BN’s Promise of Prosperity’. and ‘Pick A Trustworthy Leader’. How appropriate are these words for a fast advancing General Elections. However, these words brought back unpleasant memories of past promises by the BN before the General Elections of 2004 and 2008 to those who are the loyal life-long supporters of the BN. Soon after the huge victory of the BN, elitists which have been shown not to be adaptable to the tough grinding conditions of a developing country were anointed without much thought. In my experience of a lifetime, Oxbridge alumni do not fit into the rough and tumble of ordinary Malaysian life. And in the whole of Malaysia and Singapore, only 2 of these fellows could maintain their status. But one of them went so high into the orbit, he lost touch completely with his real world and will pay for this negligence of the ordinary folk. Then, the BN followed by the absurd appointment of a PAP cadre as the Chief Editor of the NSTP a UMNO owned outfit. To further sweeten this square peg in a round hole, a luscious Sime Darby contract was given to him which had a value more than 10 times that of the total director fees for 18 years of the guy who conceptualised the repatriation of Sime Darby in 1972 ! This was the worst kind of travesty of justice to supporters of the BN ! The well-worn cliche ‘Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely’.
For ignoring the BN supporters and supported those who were the phantom Opposition, the BN nearly lost the whole General Election in 2008 !
I am certain the BN as led by the UMNO with the 14 component parties will win hands-down at the 13th General Elections. I am also certain Dato Seri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak will be trustworthy and not forget all those masses of Malaysians and others who supported him and the BN. I am very certain the Malaysian Chinese will not let themselves down and not vote for selfish and esoteric interests which have nothing to do with the continuing political economic and social build-up towards a Malaysia which is cherished by all, inside and outside our borders.

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese who should not let themselves down after decades and centuries of hard work in co-operation with the other communities. Do not allow your emotions to be stirred up for others to PROFIT from you. Think !

  7. Assalamualaikum Tun,
    Sekian. Wassalam.

  8. Salam Tun,

Izinkan kan saya Tun, “to clear the air” pasal Islam ni Tun, tak habis2 dorang nih.

Bukan Islam kamu.

    5. Islam peribadi yang kamu nih semua syok sangat tonjolkan dengan wajah handsome sekali, bukan Islam negara, bukan Islam rasmi, ianya adalah Islam peribadi kamu. Your personal opinion. Your personal religion.

Amboi bukan main garang lagi, seram saya.

Kalau awak buat undang2 sekali pun, syariah konon, supaya semua orang masuk syurga, belum tentu saya mau ikut.

Kalau undang2 trafik saya ikut lah sebab saya takut kena saman.

Kalau Sultan menyoal penubuhan IRC/IFC saya faham lah. Tapi bila rakyat pun soal penubuhan IRC/IFC, ah in susah sikit. Lama2 saya takut korang kata IC/IFC tak betul, saya tak betul, pembangkang tak betul, Sultan pun tak betul. Anwar Ibrahim memang sebelum lahir dah tak betul dah. Songsang.

Semua orang tak betul. Islam kamu sahaja yang betul. Hah, itu baru betul.

    6. Soal nya di sini, siapa kamu yang menyoal Islam negara sedangkan ia bukan urusan kamu ? Bukan tak boleh soal, boleh, pergi lah soal Tuanku Sultan. Saya pasti ramai pensihat Tuanku sedia memberi khidmat jawapan kepada anda. Special Service. Eh, macam Special Branch pulak bunyi nya.

Islam Tun ialah hak peribadi Tun, a human right.

Orang lain semua kena pakai fahaman Islam peribadi awak kan ? Atau takut2 di lawati doktor pula, lagi susah.

Saya bukan gertak, siapa lah saya, dan saya tak macam awak, semua awak tempeleng maki hamun kat sini pasal Islam, nasib saya baik musuh ketat saya Amin Tan tak macam awak. Kalau tidak, ah, azab. Tun, empunya blog ini, diam sahaja, kerana memberi kebebasan kita berbicara, Terima Kasih Tun.

Dan saya pun dah habis berbicara.

Sekian, Terima lah Kasih Sayang Seumat Manusia ( Brotherhood of Man ) dari saya yang hidup entah tak lama.

    Thank You Tun

  9. Salam Tun,

HBT456 says “Corruption happens because of poverty.”

That touches a nerve in me. Please allow me to respond.

Corruption does not happen because of poverty, it happens because one is weak and thus wishes to take the easy way out instead of hard and smart work. i.e. the believe in hard and smart work is gone, and hence one chooses the way of corruption.

Corruption occurs in advanced and rich countries too. We hear of cases of prosecution, so we know they exist even in rich countries.

So there goes your simplistic theory of “poverty causes corruption”. That’s like saying beautiful women sexily dressed causes rape.

I’m not an expert in corruption, but i think the cause of it is sheer greed. A principled person will never take corruption, because he or she simply does not believe in it.

In fact i think rich people takes more corruption than the poor ! Because they never have a limit as to how much they should or want to have, they just want as much as possible. I know because i asked many of them ! I can’t remember anyone quantify how much they actually want, and those that do, do so as a matter of wishful thinking, not as a matter of how much they need to live.

If it is just to live, in Malaysia it is not very expensive. But if one wants to show off, then it is going to cost, and corruption enables it nicely.

    Thank You Tun

  10. Salam Tun,

    Terima kasih Tun.

*** Semoga Allah SWT melindungi Tun sekeluarga. ***

THAT LEADS TO THREAT TO UMNO NOW

IT SHOULD BE A LESSON LEARNED
ONE HAS TO BE VERY CHOOSY TO CHOSE THE RIGHT PRIME MINISTER
    NOT JUST PICK & CHOOSE

  13. YABhg Tun
Only the blind and the deaf will maintain it is not real..yes because maybe they dont see or they dont hear..but other thanthat its the penyokong totok and the rascist in DAP, PKR and PAs that dont want to know that our progress is for real. These people refused to see and to hear
It is not only Subang but also throughout the length and breadth of this country one see development and transformation of the landscape taking place. In the south for instance one can hardly recognise the new development in Pasir Gudang, Tanjung Langsat, the new highway to Desaru and now the Petronas Rapid in Pengerang
The high speed train will be a reality under DS Najib
No malaysian is hungry, unless on purpose.and our international reserves are at the always very good.We borrow yes, but we can sustain the loans. The country is never bankrupt
In the East coast well maybe except for Klantan where they refuse to be developed
One irony is that those Klantanese in Kelang Valley and eslewhere are enjoying all the necesities of development but will go back in droves to cast their elections in Ktan and vote for the moon party and after that leaving the poor folks in Ktan bereft of development except perhaps of Tesco and the Buddhist statues now plenty around Ktan
We hope Malaysia will continue to be strong and progressive, the envy of people and tourist around the world. Vote for the BN lets get DS Najib and Muhyiddin to continue with the transformation!!!!

  14. Future of Malaysia
As a true Malaysian, I am very concern for the future our beloved country. Our leaders of the past especially your good self including present PM had worked very hard to ensure that the country is where we are today.
We have a long way to go and “as is” we are on the right path.
The thought of changing present government given present political scenario is very frightening If there is a really a change and the cabinet shall be as follows Future of Malaysia

What will happen to the future of this country?

  15. Both the BN and Pakatan are using racist politics to get votes.

We are a multiracial society and if politicians keep on using racial issues to win support, we will all end up each with a gun trained on our heads. There can be no real harmony in a mutual mistrust society. Malay Chinese Indian we are only different, not one better than the other. Poor and rich is not the criteria to reach heaven. Allah looks only at our heart and intentions.

We must go back to becoming a trusting people. Politicians have great responsibility to shape the minds of the people to be fair and have compassion.

We must not be fighting for money and power only – which is what most politician wants us to do on their behalf. If people are fighting for money, they are no better than dogs. If they fight for power, they may as well be Satan’s follower.

Trust in God. There is enough for everyone in Malaysia. We must TRANSFORM the nation.

Vote BN for Peace, for our Children

  16. Assalamualaikum Tun.

    Apa pendapat Tun?

  17. As per my promise to YAB, I will vote BN.

I certainly hope to vote BN in the future.

I am signing out permanently since general election will be called anytime.

I am a voter, if Sentinel 3, tak nak undi saya, takpa.

  18. Sentinel 3,

UMNO looks east looks to win election.

PKR looks west to win election.

    Why?

Having 5 million plus population to control the whole economy?

You can do that when the westerners are poor and not educated.

    Corruption happens because of poverty.

  19. Tun,

    HBT456,

Lets put it the other way around. Tian Chua even bites the ears of our policeman. What did that shows?

Saya malu perangai politicians kita macam itu.

    Salam Tun.

It shows that our Ministers are only interested to get votes to be elected as the next pembodek to PM.

  21. Having a UMNO MoD Minister yelling for blood, what that shows?

Having a UMNO KDN Minister threatening Tian Chua, what that shows?

This shows that cikgu kencing berdiri, murid kencing berlari.

  22. Sentinel 3,

  23. Tun,

    To HBT456,

The Chinese community is not a pragmatic lot but an unreasonable lot.

The Chinese are right that PKR, DAP and PAS are not marry officially but Pas can dominate both DAP and PKR once in power in Putrajaya.

And the Chinese are wrong if they think they have nothing to loose if BN were to loose the election because they are the one that will be in hot soup once Pas were in power.

Its a questions of a quessing game of who will dominate the others once PR wins the election.

Can PKR be the dominating one? I dont think so, maybe temporarily, lot of things can happens to this hypocrite guy, he may be sick etc, etc waiting to be kick out by others that found him to be a useful tool for their political gains. How about DAP? Can DAP control Pas? I absolutely dont think so.

DAP can be put as a back burner or put totally out of pictures once Pas amended the constitutions of this country.

The scenarios is such that the Malays that voted BN that are wary and tired with the Chinese and Indians in this country may joint Pas to abolish the constitutions and set up an Islamic state.

If the Chinese thinks that hudud laws are only applicable to Muslims, then the Chinese in this country is surely a naive lots. Islamic laws are applicable to all citizens in an Islamic country, after all Islam is the way of life.

    Salam Tun.

  24. Dear Tun,

in terms of chaos strategy, it would appear that the Pakatan have adapted to the guerrilla methods with contingency plans that are being ingeniously crafted from sources that could only originate from the underworld or the secret police/army @ http://youtu.be/B7jgw9AlurY

I’m beginning to belief that no matter what the outcome of PRU13, there would be widespread trouble and havoc in the streets throughout the country. The Police force must work closely with the Army and must ensure that they know how to deal appropriately with these trouble makers when the time comes.

We must not give them a chance to trick the security forces into a showdown, and planned bloodbath, that will be their advantage to incite even bigger riots and to corral foreign media sympathy.

  25. Assallammualaikum Tun..
13 Mei terjadi kerana pengayuh-pengayuh perahu si Luncai mengikut saranan beliau..
    Si Luncai terjun dengan labu-labunya..
    Biarkan..biarkan..

Takrifan Jam..Squeeze or pack (someone or something) tightly into a specified space.
    Equation number …………………………………………………………………………………………. 1.

Takrifan lull..To cause to sleep or rest; soothe or calm
    Equation number………………………………………………………………………………………….. 2.

Takrifan karam..submerge..To hide from view; obscure..lying in wait
    Equation number………………………………………………………………………………………….. 3.

When you calculus all the equation, you will have Jamlullkaram is equal to a pack that can cause you no alarm in presence that actually lying in wait for their sinister objective purpose.
    Consequently HBT is Jamlullkaram follower.
I must remind you HBT instead of trying to undermine Islam, you should take care of your Navel perimeter or to be more precise areas approximately 6 inches from your navel.
You can have pleasure’s stroking them instead of stoking Islam..

To Tun Allied blogger..please consider giving her the Call Zone!..

    Terima kasih Tun.

The BN as led by the UMNO with the 14 component parties should push and shove all out at Pulau Pinang, Kedah, Selangor, Kelantan and Perak. Most of the Opposition States were taken from the BN by default from the BN General Elections debacle of 2008 without a fight.
A survey shows that there is a swing towards the BN in Kedah. Let us not get our guard down but push very hard and shove to regain Kedah and not be complacent. As you are aware, Kedah and Pulau Pinang are closely linked together with the Kedahan folks enjoying the weekends in Pulau Pinang. They can see what the DAP is doing to Pulau Pinang by trying to turn it somewhat like Singapore and squeeze the Rakyat out of the island by high inflation and property prices. If Kedah falls to the BN, Pulau Pinang must follow or vice-versa. The Selangor State Government over the past 4 has shown nothing earth-shattering for the rural folk. At best, only Chinese dominated seats will supoport them. A hard push and shove should do the trick. As one respected and veteran political pundit has said, the Johor strategy of the Opposition is entirely diversionary to save the King in Pulau Pinang. Actually, he is only a Queen, the King is in Singapore. We see the Singaporean media is all excited over ‘this landmark’ battle. But they may be disappointed if the BN wins by a landslide when the Chinese finally realise which side of the bowl is always filled by the BN and maybe they are being dragged by the Opposition into something sinister and not to their advantage.

This is the hour, the day and the month that the BN as led by the UMNO with the 14 component parties should show the Opposition what it has done for the Rakyat since 1957. No more ! No less !

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese. Unite and show the 10 fingers to the Opposition ! 100% !!

  28. YABhg Tun,

PRU13…..satu ujian bagi orang – orang Melayu berpolitik. Persoalannya bukan siap yang mau mereka undi, TETAPI, apabila mereka mengundi, samaada mereka undi secara sepakat, en block atau pecah….sikit sini sikit sana….
Do you honestly believe DAP want to see PAS or PKR ( Malay seats ) won all Malay seats…???
if that happens, it would be like helping UMNO win the election…!!!! Back to square one!!!!

If USA President can be a Black Democrat who has won the 2nd term to breakthrough the skin wall, it means Americans are more matured in dealing with multi-international immigrants.

Whether we like it or not, Malaysia is heading towards this direction to sustain her economy when Malaysia government lost 30% of our Forex in US currency and share market.

Instead of forcing people to accept our race and ideology, why not we forget our own race and ideology first?

    It’s too late, Hadi Awang.

He has made non-Muslim, especially, Chinese hates PAS more than UMNO.

There is no way for Kit Siang to be PM even if DAP wins in all Chinese constituencies.

If I am PM, I would allow Xiamen University to be built on the soil of Sepang since Malaysian Chinese are being oppressed by Malay, Muslim and Chinese political parties before and after Merdeka to maintain the long term relationship between China and Malaysia since Ming Dynasty.

  31. Wajaperak,

    Why are you terrorizing me?

I am not a voter of Perak nor Johor.

As expected, kerana mahu mengalahkan BN, PKR tu apanama Nasution has decided to use the old taktik yang dipakaikan Anwar to target Mahathir and his family to swing hatred votes to make sure PKR wins in Johor.

Chinese community is a pragmatic lot whereby all of us know that PKR, DAP and PAS are not marry officially.

Therefore, they can do what they want to win without thinking of the consequences “janji mereka menang” since they have nothing to loose.

As I said, I will vote BN in this coming election.

Will I vote BN, in the future?

As long as BN does not abuse the power of the official religion to bully other religions + vernacular, independent and international schools, BN can develop the country peacefully and beautifully.

Respect, accept and maintain the New Istana for Yang Dipertuan Agong, Malaysians shall unite again and make the job easier for UMNO and BN in Pusat Kerajaan di Wilayah Putrajaya.

  32. Tun

Evals is correct in his assessment of the uniqueness of Malaysia as a country and its peoples. A country’s make-up entirely depends on its inhabitants and Malaysia is fortunate to have 3 main peoples from ancient civilizations together with those who were amongst them for centuries mainly through trade and other innocent activities.
Without normal people in pursuit of a normal livelihood, Malaysia will not be what it is today. Countries which deliberately embarked on an all-out policy of making money and money, are actually surviving on a knife’s edge which is the international financial markets which are beyond anyone’s control as it has been shown.
The difficulty is to get the leadership to be normal which invariably seeps down the thick layers of bureacracy below it. As my favourite American President Harry S Truman once said, ‘The buck stops at my desk!’ He is my favourite not because he dropped 2 atomic bombs on the Japanese but he was a downright homey sort of person who retired back to his modest Mid-West home.
The peoples of a country is what it takes to make a country great. And from these masses, a great leader will arise as has been shown in our own short history of Malaysia. I could think most of our former Prime Ministers were exceptional and outstanding in their own way !
Apart from Malaysia, Indonesia is another country which inhabitants have character like the Scandinavians. A closer study of different countries will produce more normal and unique countries. I have always stressed the fact that it is important to be normal within our means and avoid playing catch-up with the hares which lost out to the tortoises at the end.
Yes ! Evals ! You are right ! Our beloved Malaysia and its intriguing and interesting peoples are only taking the first step of a long, long journey. There will be many pitfalls and stumbles for us to come. And it is the faith in our leaders to guide us out of the dangers to come and if they fail, we can say sayonara to all the efforts we had put into decades and decades ago.
Human endeavour and human behaviour are such important virtues of a good leadership which must conform to the 3 Golden Attributes to be a Prime Minister or a leader eg. 1) Commonsense 2) The Ability to Think out of a Box 3) Compassion.
I believe our Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak has all these Attributes to lead us and the country at large.
The continuity of our human resources of different races has been with us from the very beginning and this is what it counts to put Malaysia into the league of normality or normal countries. If the Government kept whipping up unattainable and unsustainable targets for the country or its inhabitants to achieve in the name of meritocracy, who can really judge what will be the result as no other country has meaningfully done this before ? And the likely result is the creation of a myth in the minds of the populace that they are great but in reality they are not. The shock and awe of the discovery of failure is so great in the populace minds that they can only turn against a Government or any Government for that matter.
Hence, Malaysia’s goodness and all its virtues arise from the good inhabitants of this beloved land through which we only walk once and not twice !

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese. Unite and show the 10 FINGERS TO THE OPPOSITION !

Maaf to deviate from the topic.

  36. Malaysia is quite a blessed country as the strategic position at the Southeast Asia region makes it possible for Malaysia to accommodate many businesses. We are living in a great country that we all make it possible for our country to be what it becomes today. We are living in one of the greatest country to be lived on this world. We have gone through many things that teach us so much on valuable things about harmony and peace.

We all want to live on this temporary world with harmony and we want to help one another so that together can we be successful. However by following the so called democracy system brought by Western people we are continuously pointing out the mistakes and ugly side of others. We are provoking one another and we want to show that we are the best by pointing out others’ faults. As long as we are humans, there are no perfections of our inventions. What’s more these ideologies are coming from the Western people who are proved of having intentions to destroy others’ countries by manipulating the situations. We can see how they were forcing our country to accept the IMF proposals and by rational thinking we rejected them as we want live in harmony and helping others.

Democracy is a system that can weaken a country by creating divides of groups and it is the same as drugs that can kill a person if we are misusing of it. Therefore, again don’t we repeat the mistakes of easily following the Western people’s way of doing things. We want to see our country to prosper forward and when it is the time to unite, then together will we unite no matter which parties are we supporting. There are really many more important things to do than creating divides and quarrels among people.

  37. Tun

Adakah anda tahu?

    Yakinlah bahawa

TIADA TUHAN SELAIN ALLAH DAN MUHAMMAD ITU ADALAH PESURUH ALLAH

  43. Saya setuju dgn saranan Amin Tan agar kerajaan,
    1. hapuskan saman camera kepada kenderaan. Ini amat jelas menindas pengguna kenderaan.
    2. Harga minyak diturunkan sebanyak 30%
    3. Kadar toll semua jalan raya diturunkan 30%

    Age,

    Terima Kasih Tun

  46. Salam Tun,

Izinkan saya berbicara tentang concept subsidy dengan Puan MsEmma49, petikan hujah Puan disertakan di bawah

    MsEmma49
    April 2, 2013 at 7:52 PM | Permalink
    Salam Tun,

Contoh2nya Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, London, New York. Kuala Lumpur hari2 sesakan lalulintas.

    Matlamat Penubuhan IFC

Ancaman Daripada 14 Tuntutan IFC Terhadap Umat Islam

    1.

    3.
Orang-orang Islam bebas melakukan apa saja tanpa batasan.

    4.
    Orang-orang Islam bebas untuk murtad.

    5.

    Terima kasih….

ini antara article menarik on Election Promise, harap our economist boleh explain further… biar ada analysis lengkap… dan difahami semua rakyat…

PAKATAN’S MULTI-BILLION RINGGIT PROMISES:WHERE WILL THE MONEY COME FROM?
In anticipation of the upcoming general election, we have seen the Opposition trying to introduce more policy proposals to sway key voting segments. In particular, it has targeted young, first-time voters, who make up the bulk of the more than two million newly registered Malaysian voters, and the middle class in general.

Two of Pakatan’s policy proposals announced this year are designed to strike at these two voter demographics directly. The first was a promise to write off all National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) loans and provide free university education, and the latest, a policy that will see a reduction in passenger car prices.

Both policies have clear political objectives in mind. The student loan write-off is an attractive promise for young voters still stuck with their PTPTN debt in addition to dealing with higher living costs. The promise of lower car prices casts a wider appeal as most Malaysian car owners bemoan having to pay more for the same car than people in other countries, which results in a bigger chunk of the salary being used to service their monthly car loans.

By selling these promises, the federal opposition is saying that it can assist with increasing your disposable income because you will have more to spend on other things and also save because these two expenditure items will either disappear (PTPTN loans written off) or be reduced (cheaper car prices).

The purpose of this article is not to examine the two proposals directly but to discuss one fundamental question that arises when political parties – especially those not in power – make electoral promises: How do they hope to pay for these promises?

If this question does not require answering, then politics would be an easy game. Promise people everything under the sun, sit back and enjoy watching voters swing your way. But we do not live in a world where the electorate believes they can get everything for free. Politicians cannot assume people are stupid, as they seem to do particularly when elections are approaching.

Apart from subsidies which many Malaysians still hold dear, most Malaysians do generally believe that the government should not increase the budget deficit and borrow more money. Most Malaysians also feel a sense of responsibility and that people should pay back whatever they borrowed and not have the government write off those loans.

Also, importantly, international investors and credit rating agencies are watching to see whether we live within our means. In an age of sovereign defaults and bailouts, fiscal responsibility is a key measure of sound public administration that will have an impact on our attractiveness as an investment destination and on our credit ratings.

As far as the federal opposition is concerned, it is doubtful that balancing he books high on its agenda. It has not really explained how it is going to pay for its electoral promises. And just to put it on the record once again – its electoral promises amount to a very very high RM206.5 billion in the first year alone. And this doesn’t even include Pakatan’s standard promise of an immediate reduction in the price of petrol should it take over the Government. Depending on the reduction, this could cost billions on top of whatever has already been promised.

Let’s just put the cost of the opposition’s promises into context. The federal government development budget for 2012 was RM51.2 billion. Pakatan’s electoral promises costs 400% or 4 times more than the current 2012 Government’s development budget. So if it were to fulfil its promises in the first year of office, a Pakatan federal Government would not have enough money to pay the salaries of teachers, doctors, nurses, police and army personnel, let alone have the funds for building roads, schools, hospitals or providing welfare assistance to the poor. Most of the money would have been used to deliver on its Jingga promises.

If this happens, essential services would grind to a halt and the country would cease to function.

If it decides to borrow more money to fund its promises and keep the government going, the fiscal deficit would balloon from 4.7%, which it is now, to more than 25% of GDP and Malaysia would effectively be bankrupt within the first two years of Pakatan ruling Putrajaya.

Pakatan’s standard response to this is that it will “get rid of the corruption” to pay for its promises. But the question is can getting rid of corruption pay for the Oppositions RM206.5 billion Ringgit promises?

Let’s analyse the 2012 federal budget. Of the total RM232.8 billion that was originally budgeted, RM148.5 billion (63.8% of the total budget) was reserved for salaries of civil servants as well as fixed charges and grants such as subsidies, servicing debt, scholarships, research grants and funds for state governments. These are all fixed charges or payments. That leaves RM84.3 billion procurement – related spending, whether it is purchasing supplies, services and assets or paying for projects under development expenditure.

Since corruption and leakages can only occur for procurement related expenditure as opposed to fixed charges like salaries, any savings can only be made from this portion of the budget. If you get 10% savings from procurement, that would be just RM8.43 billion extra – hardly enough to pay for the opposition’s election promises. Even the entire sum related to procurement expenditure – RM 84.3 billion – is short of the RM206.5 billion needed to pay for its promises to Putrajaya.

The key point is this: It is easy to say savings can be made by reducing leakages, but nobody really asks how much you can save. While 10% of procurement – related items can yield a significant figure as explained above, it is not so significant when measured against Pakatan’s multi-billion Ringgit promises that cost so much more to fulfill.

So, it is not enough for the federal opposition to say it can save by getting rid of corruption. Let’s assume that Pakatan can get rid of corruption 100% and that it will avoid the corruption scandals it has got itself into in Selangor at the Federal level. This is still not enough to pay for its pledges. It has to tell Malaysians how else it will raise the money. Will it borrow more? What programs will it cancel? Which schools will it not build? Which hospitals will to close? What taxes will go up? How many civil servants will it fire?

Unless the opposition can answer these hard questions can explain how it will raise the money to fulfill its promises, we can safely assume that either it will drive Malaysia to ruin by spending what we don’t have or, in fact, it has no intention whatsoever of fulfilling its promises because it knows it simply can’t pay for them.

    Bertuturlah cinta
    Mengucap satu nama
    Seindah goresan sabdaMu dalam kitabku

    Cinta yang bertasbih
    Mengutus hati ini
Ku sandarkan hidup dan matiku padaMu

    Bisikan doaku dalam butiran tasbih
    Kupanjatkan pintaku
    Padamu Maha Cinta

    Sudah diubun ubun
    Cinta mengusik resah
    Tak bisaku paksa
    Walau hatiku menjerit

    Ketika cinta bertasbih
    Nadiku berdenyut merdu
    Kembang kempis dadaku
    Merangkai butir cinta

    Garis tangan tergambar
    Tak bisa aku menentang
    Sujud syukur padaMu
    Atas segala cinta

    *cinta itu indah

“10. Malaysia’s economic growth is real. Only the blind and the deaf will maintain that it is not real.”

According to the Malay Idioms (versi Bahasa Melayu Baku yg diperkenalkan oleh bABI yg tak secara langsung juga menjadi Pengasas PKR kemudian hari…*sigh*), there are three types of blindness: (1) Buta Hati (PAS), (2) Buta Tuli (PKR), and (3) Buta Jati (DAP).

    Sekian, Tun. Wassalam.
