ARAB SPRING I

1. There is much gloating in the West over what is happening in the Arab countries. They, the West, have been peddling democracy to the world and at times they would assassinate leaders or invade countries so as to impose their democracy. Now the Arabs are doing this work for them. The Arabs themselves are overthrowing their authoritarian Governments so as to, presumably, install democratic Governments in their places.

2. Overthrowing Governments is serious business. It normally involves violence and killings. Fortunately the people in Tunisia and Egypt have achieved their objectives without too much bloodshed. But the Libyan Government is not ready to go. So are the Governments of Syria, Yemen and Bahrain.

3. The situation in these four countries is not to the liking of the western democrats. They want to make sure that the despotic rulers surrender and the forces of democracy take over. If the people cannot overthrow their Governments by themselves, than the West must take a hand in ensuring that the authoritarian rulers are deposed.

4. I don’t think it is right for the Western powers to interfere. We believe strongly in non-interference in the internal affairs of independent nations. That was what independence was about: the right to manage a nation’s affairs by its people. And the uprisings of people, be they simple demonstration, civil wars or rebellions are basically the internal affairs of the countries’ concerned. No one really has a right to interfere.

5. But then one remembers Cambodia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. In Cambodia the Pol Pot regime decided to get rid of all intellectuals and others believed to be against the Government. The world knew something horrid was happening in that country but a policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of nations stood in the way. As a result two million Cambodians were systematically bludgeoned to death.

6. In Bosnia-Herzegovina the Serbs openly announced that they intended to cleanse the country of European Muslims. With guns and bombs and missiles they set about doing this as the world watched live on TV. Even when NATO soldiers were sent in, they turned a blind eye when the Serbs systematically massacred 12,000 Bosnian men and boys while the women were raped. The Dutch soldiers tasked with protecting these people simply moved away.

7. Far from helping the Bosnians the West decreed that no weapons should be supplied to them. This is to “reduce” killings. Let the killings be done by the Serbs only. Allowing the Bosnians to defend themselves, would result in Serbs being killed also. And so the Bosnians were massacred by the Serbs, without Serb deaths adding to the numbers killed.

8. By the time the United Nations decided to send in a peace-keeping force, a hundred thousand Bosnians had been killed.

9. The price for non-interference is clearly very high. But is it better for other countries to send forces to help the rebels or the Government. The Americans went into Korea, Vietnam and Grenada to support the Governments of these countries. The result is a full-scale war in which a lot of people, not just soldiers were killed. The end of the wars saw Korea divided into two and the defeat of the United States in Vietnam. Only in Grenada was the mighty US successful.

10. Apparently interventions in the internal affairs of nations do not always yield good result. It is worse when force has to be used.

11. Interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq have resulted in increasing the numbers killed without the objectives being realised. Indeed the situation now is perhaps worse than before intervention.

12. Today we see NATO forces not just supporting the rebels in Libya but have actually carried out military assaults against Government forces. They have interpreted “no-fly zone” to mean outright aerial attacks against Gadaffi. In fact it is obvious that NATO is bent on assassinating the Libyan leader and his family. Is this the right way to reduce bloodshed?

13. Bloodshed is not something to be encouraged. But when attacks are made against the Government there is bound to be bloodshed.

14. We have all but forgotten that one of the most important reasons for setting up the United Nations is to end wars. What is happening in Libya and other Arab countries is war, civil war. It is the bounden duty of the United Nations to stop the wars. But the United Nations should not pass judgement and take sides. The United Nations should not help one side to defeat the other.

15. But then how should the United Nations go about stopping the killings? Is it by a “no-fly zone” resolution? We are seeing now that “no-fly zone” means aerial and ground attacks by NATO forces against Libyan Government forces. Basically the United Nations have declared war against Libya. It is hardly in keeping with an institution to end wars and promote peace.

16. What the United Nations should do is to engineer a peaceful solution. It should try to get the two sides to agree to negotiate, or to submit to United Nations arbitration, or to seek for judgement of the claims by a world court. If all these fail a referendum supervised by the UN should be held so as to ascertain the true wishes of the people.

17. If any side refuses to all these means of peaceful settlement, then the United Nations must act against the recalcitrant side. Force may need to be used to get the recalcitrant to accept United Nations’ efforts at peaceful settlement of the dispute.

18. It is important that the United Nations does not allow NATO or any other power to act on its behalf. The operation should be a United Nations operation commanded by United Nations – appointed commanders.

19. This action is not new because the United Nations has always been tasked to keep combatants apart. However the United Nations may have to use more force than usual in order to separate the warring factions and bring them to the negotiating table.

20. It is likely that if the operation is truly a United Nations operation for the purpose of giving both sides a hearing or for conducting a national referendum, the parties to the conflicts are more likely to show respect for the move.

  1. In olden days there ware always war of succession everytime King dies.During hay day of feudal system there was no such thing as overthrowing Kings even Hang Jebat just protested Amok in defiance. Until French started to rebel against the King and the clergy it began new era.Even Attaturk overthrow Khalifah and later Arab their kings. Democracy started by USA partly influence by French Republic System, to avoid war of sucession. They learned the hard lesson from American Cival War. Any goverment bound to be hated by some section of the populace. The Lanun will always oppose any goverment as they have different set of idea!!!
Interference of foreign power widen the war as influx of weapons. Foreign power get involve not because of moral ground but something to gain. In Bosnia the West had nothing to gain infect they preferred Muslims to be eliminated from Europe that why the play non Involvement. The tilt come to a balance when Mujahiddin from Afghanistan were allowed in by Crotia in exchange for weapon.
In case of Arab the west hypocrisy come to the open. Democracy is just a pretext. Oil and market for weapon and pro west puppet is the main reason. For Libya courting with China and making oil freely available make China even stronger and formidable economic enemy. That warrant the bombing of Goverment of Libya!! That mean undeclared war. Demostrator are just fifth column.
It not the system of goverment that matters but the welfare of people that matters.

  2. You have not lost the old flavour of distilling complicated issues into simple to understand facts. I always respect your power of analysis and simple talk.

Right home there are more pressing issues. Corruption eating away the foundations of some many social instituitions. And of course the mad organisation Perkasa which you seem to patronise.

Tun, will you please doing something and speak with full fairness on how you would solve the present ills of this country.
I would like to remember you for your brave good work.

May you have good health and joy in the years to come.

  3. Salam Tun,

Apabila Amerika menyerang Iraq (Sadam Hussein) tiada negara Islam membantu. Sekali lagi Amerika, NATO & beberapa negara Islam memainkan isu Sadam Hussein jahat. Saya nak tanya siapa lagi jahat Sadam Hussein atau Bush. Sekali lagi negara Islam diratah oleh Barat. Negara Islam lain hanya berpeluk tubuh menjadi “penakut” termasuk Malaysia.

Selepas Iraq, Libya pula jadi mangsa Barat. Mana dia negara Islam lain yang terus menikus ketakutan. Harapkan Pemimpin Tok Arab yang kaya dengan minyak tetapi duduk berkhayal didalam mahligai dunia mereka. Seperti Dubai duit banyak tapi bina bermacam-macam bangunan tetinggi seperti zaman firaun.

Confirmed: Thailand’s “Pro-Democracy” Movement Working for US
Thailand’s “Red Shirts” boast of NED, Fortune 500 Washington D.C. Visit

    Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
    Activist Post

Bangkok, Thailand, August 13, 2011 – While it is well established that Thailand’s “red shirt” street mob is working on behalf of globalist-stooge Thaksin Shinawatra who in turn is backed by some of the United States’ largest lobbying firms, most influential politicians, and most powerful corporate-financier interests, it is now confirmed that key leaders within the “red shirt” movement or United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) have met with Soros’ Open Society-funded Human Rights Watch, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the U.S. – ASEAN Business Council in an April 2011 Washington D.C. visit.

Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand’s prime minister from 2001 until a military coup removed him in 2006, was a former Carlyle Group adviser and was literally reporting to the globalist Council on Foreign Relations in New York City on the eve of his ousting from power. While in office, Thaksin attempted to ramrod through the US-Thailand Free-Trade Agreement (FTA) without parliamentary approval, a 2004 FTA backed by the exact same US-ASEAN Business Council recently visited by UDD leaders in April of 2011.

Image: The US-ASEAN Business Council, a who’s-who of corporate fascism in the US, has been approached by Thailand’s “pro-democracy” UDD for support. The UDD never fully explains what corporations like Exxon, BP, Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, or other banes to humanity have to do with democracy or what sort of support was asked for or promised. (click image to enlarge)

The council in 2004 included 3M, war profiteering Bechtel, Boeing, Cargill, Citigroup, General Electric, IBM, the notorious Monsanto, and currently also includes the criminal banksters of Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Chevron, Exxon, BP, Glaxo Smith Kline, Merck, Northrop Grumman, Monsanto’s GMO doppelganger Syngenta, and Phillip Morris. Admittedly, these corporations are more synonymous with mass murder, mass corruption, corporate fascism, crony-capitalism, warmongering, lies, deceit and all the other ugly aspects that truly define “globalization,” than they are with any tenant of “liberal democracy.”

Since the 2006 coup that toppled his autocratic regime, Thaksin has been represented by US corporate-financier elites via their lobbying firms including, Kenneth Adelman of the Edelman PR firm (Freedom House, International Crisis Group, PNAC), James Baker of Baker Botts (CFR), Robert Blackwill of Barbour Griffith & Rogers (CFR), Kobre & Kim, and currently Robert Amsterdam of Amsterdam & Peroff (Chatham House). Meanwhile, his “red shirts” UDD street mobs have received rhetorical support by US-funded NGOs like Prachatai which has recently been exposed as almost exclusively funded by the US government through the National Endowment for Democracy, USAID, George Soros’ Open Society Institute, and a myriad of other globalist foundations.

Quite obviously, the UDD, Thaksin, and Prachatai, all now confirmed to be consorting with, funded, and supported by the US government via its subversive National Endowment for Democracy and the Fortune 500 corporate-fascists that direct them, are most certainly not pursing “democracy.” Beyond high treason, and literally selling out one’s country, there is no explanation as to why the UDD would consult with the US-ASEAN Business Council comprised entirely of Fortune 500 corporations, over “concerns on the prospect of [a] coup, and [their] deep desire to see elections that are free and fair.”

Thai people have been lied to, they have been lied to big. The letter posted below has been taken directly from the “Red Shirts for Democracy” blog and now explains fully why the Thai government has been jailing what disingenuous, US-funded propagandists like Prachatai have been portraying as “political prisoners.” Clearly, they are not “political prisoners” but traitors in every sense of the term, openly, even proudly consorting with foreign corporate-financier interests in exchange for backing and support to return Thaksin Shinawatra to power at the expense of Thailand’s national, political, cultural, and economic sovereignty. More egregious is that they do so under the disingenuous guise of promoting democracy, human rights, and freedom.

The recent scandalous Thai elections where Thaksin’s own sister came to power, hand-picked by him to run openly as his proxy (as he remains abroad evading a two-year jail sentence) has been jealously defended as a sweeping democratic mandate by the Western corporate-media. Such overt duplicity on the part of the Western media, coupled by stern warnings from the CFR and the Economist for Thailand to accept the election results, along with a concerted effort by the mainstream media to leverage Wikileaks cables to undermine Thailand’s establishment, all serve as the obvious manifestation of the support UDD leaders were in Washington securing last April.

Below is a signed confession that UDD’s Sunai Chulapongsatorn, Tanet Charoenmuang, and Jaran Ditapichai traveled to Washington D.C. and openly consorted with the notorious National Endowment for Democracy and America’s largest corporations for support in their bid to return their ousted criminal leader, Thaksin Shinawatra to power. The results of this treason can expect to look like a similar US-backed “pro-democracy movement” in Egypt where John McCain, flanked by corporate magnates, prepare to squat on Egypt and plunge their parasitic probosces into the Egyptian economy.

The original letter, as of August 13, 2011 can be found here.

Union for Thai Democracy Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.
    April 26, 2011
Dear Red Shirt Brothers and Sisters, and Friends of Thai Democracy:

Please take this letter as an urgent appeal for your help in Lobbying, Campaigning the governments throughout the world NOT TO RECOGNIZE the Coup Government, should there be one. We believe this is a strong possibility.

As you know — while the People in Thailand and abroad are anxiously waiting for the upcoming elections, there is a strong possibility that a coup might happen soon to prevent any elections. This is due to the fact that the Red Shirts supported Pheu Thai Party has a good chance of winning the upcoming elections.

This prospect scares the ruling elite in many concrete ways. Sins, including massacre have been committed by the military and the ruling elite. They are riding a tiger and cannot back down. The Red Shirts and pro-democracy movement are likely to be targeted.

Couple with these — there are signs of wide spread intimidation of pro-democracy movement with threats. The military showdown in the past week may not be about Dr. Somsak Jeamteerasakul or those alleged critics of Les Majeste Laws or anti-monarchy movement. It could be a show of forces in preparation for a much more serious matter.

The clashes at the border in the past week are not about the conflict with Cambodia. It appears to be part of the plan for a serious domestic situation. Red Shirts radio stations also have been raided.

The rumors of coup are widespread, but for what purposes — because the prospect of former PM Thaksin returning when Pheu Thai wins; this would create trouble for the military top brass including Tharit Phendit; Succession issues?

One thing we know, we cannot afford to see more regression of Thai politics. We urge you to form Lobbying and Campaigning groups throughout the world to do what you can to prevent another coup.

We are happy to report that while visiting Washington DC this past week with Dr. Sunai Chulapongsatorn, Dr. Tanet Charoenmuang, and Dr. Jaran Ditapichai; we had opportunities to meet Human Rights Watch, National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the U.S. – ASEAN Business Council. We discussed a wide range of issues. Most dear to us, we expressed our concerns on the prospect of coup, and our deep desire to see elections that are free and fair.

The world knows now that in the age of Globalization, only true democracy can ensure stability. The old model of supporting dictatorship and/or absolute monarchy for stability is obsolete.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, there is no time to waste. We need to educate the public and the government sectors in your countries now.

Please join force with Red Shirts in America to say NO TO COUP; NO TO MILITARY DICTATORSHIP; YES TO ELECTIONS.

We know it is not easy but if we work together, we can achieve it. We thank you for your time and your kind consideration.

  6. Assalamualaikum Tun,

Abdul Ghani Azmi Haji Idris.

Hadis ini menunjukkan dua hal :
    a. Kewajiban menutup seluruh tubuh wanita kecuali wajah dan telapak tangan.

Amien..

    Wasalam..

  7. Dear Tun Dr Mahathir,
    Salaams

    The Arab Unrest
(only mecca and madinah is with peace)

When it is reported that more of the younger generation are not satisfied with the way things are going under the ‘dictatorial rulers and presidents’ in the North Africa and the Middle East, I wonder if this unhappy young generation will have a solution to their problems that were created by their fathers and grandfathers while the hold of the western has never much changed except for the demise of the USSR.

I doubt they will have much success what with the present old system is still in place and the world is still with the same old tyrants in the United Nations having strong veto rights.

I would like to write Dr Bouthaina Shabaan to pass on the message to the Syrian President – Don’t worry be happy – it is not easy being the President of Syria, Bashar!; and I wonder why the Gaddafis are so much hated when the protesters cum separatist are just as bad as they are.

But should there be trouble in Mecca then it will be very hard to do the Hajj in peace and comfort. Whikle Husni Mubarak is lucky to be tried when he is still alive just as the late Saddam Hussein was by the invading Americans and her allies.

Still I wonder how we can help them – these unhappy Arabs – with our mega Islamic banks, finance houses, and takaful institution with our Shariah compliant dealings? Then there was Palestine now there is the whole North Africa and the Middle East under threast of economic disaster. Subhanallah.

Do we have a masterplan, Dr Mahathir?

    Salaam Ramadhan

  8. Tun,

What had transpired in middle east lately is big. It is bigger then the Iranian revolution in the 70’s.

America and the west thinks that they need to get involve in middle east as they need continue to have their influence there due to the abundance of oil and other aspects.

If there is a revolution to replace dictatorship to democracy, then there will have to take part in this revolution. This is to ensure that they will have some degree of influence to the victor of the revolution.

There is an American saying, “when the war is over, the politician takes over”.

In the case of Libya, Yemen, Bahrain and Syria, the existing regime will not go easily. After seeing what had happened to Mubarak, it is even more difficult for them to let go.

Bahrain have religious sectarian issue between the minority Sunni who rule the country and syiah majority that claim they are discriminated. These people do not get along since hundred of years.

Syria is the most difficult of them all. The existing regime have strong military presence in the country. It is also closest to Israel which makes the allies of the west nervous. There is even somebody from Israel raised about Syria in this blog.

It will not be easy for the people of these country to replace the existing regime. The violent development in these countries have prove this point.

I agree with you that it would have been better for the United Nation to get involve but all the guns and weapons is with the West and America and they really want to get involve in this matter.

  9. tun …you are the MAN….always will be….now france and its stooges are following your footsteps ….curtail the short selling….but this time people will listen becoz it comes from the ‘ANG MOH’ (white man) mouth.

EXPOSED: Indy “Newspaper” Funded by US Government
Deep network uncovered as fake “indy” rag is forced to disclose funding.

    Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
    Activist Post

Bangkok, Thailand August 11, 2011 – After initially trying to downplay, obfuscate, and deny accusations that the Thai “independent, non-profit, daily web newspaper” Prachatai was in fact a US-funded propaganda front, a series of reports from Land Destroyer provided irrefutable evidence taken directly from the US government-funded National Endowment for Democracy website. Additional backpedaling, lying, and obfuscating prompted a follow-up report on Prachatai featuring several unlisted funding sources the duplicitous organization most likely thought were well buried.

Perhaps fearing a third onslaught, or in a desperate attempt to salvage its sagging legitimacy, just this week Prachatai has made a seemingly complete disclosure of their US government and US corporate foundation funding laying to rest its own supporter’s erroneous assumptions and defense that the organization was “just barely getting by.” In fact, they are doing quite well and receive millions of baht consistently year to year from the US National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros’ Open Society Institute, and more recently USAID. In fact, an overwhelming 77% of Prachatai’s nearly 8 million baht in funding during 2011 has come directly from Uncle Sam — overt funding that would cut the legs of legitimacy out from under any alleged “news organization.”

Still, Prachatai’s utter contempt for both journalism and their readership’s intelligence is best encapsulated in a cautionary reminder posted directly before their full financial disclosure which claims, “it is important to state here that none of our foreign donors has ever put up any demands connected to the funds they provided, nor did they ever interfere with our reporting.” One doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry at such overt duplicity from an organization that has just spent the last 2 months trying to laugh-off, ignore, or otherwise belittle very legitimate concerns regarding its lack of transparency.

The nature of Prachatai’s political narrative is confrontational, directed at Thailand’s establishment, especially Thailand’s traditional institutions which exist independently of the Soros-funded networks of which Prachatai is now irrefutably exposed to be a part. Prachatai’s goal is to undermine the Thai establishment’s legitimacy while concurrently building up the legitimacy of the “international community,” global “civil society,” and to promote globalist talking points. A visit to Prachatai’s homepage reveals links running off to Soros-funded “Open Democracy,” Soros and Ford Foundation funded “Global Voices,” the globalist International Institute for Strategic Studies (which includes Robert Blackwill, former lobbyist of Thailand’s globalist-backed stooge Thaksin Shinawatra), as well as a myriad of pro-Thaksin, pro-globalist, pro-color revolution websites that form the nucleus of Thailand’s foreign-funded “civil society” movement both in and out of the country.

This is analogous to other US-funded organizations, opposition groups, and NGOs around the world including those of the recent US-funded “Arab Spring” which were all admittedly organized, trained, funded, and equipped (in some cases armed) years in advance by the United States government for the expressed purpose of initiating regime change throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa. In fact, the New York Times itself would confirm this, stating that, “a number of the groups and individuals directly involved in the revolts and reforms sweeping the region, including the April 6 Youth Movement in Egypt, the Bahrain Center for Human Rights and grass-roots activists like Entsar Qadhi, a youth leader in Yemen, received training and financing from groups like the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute and Freedom House, a nonprofit human rights organization based in Washington.”

The New York Times would go on to explain that “the Republican and Democratic institutes are loosely affiliated with the Republican and Democratic Parties. They were created by Congress and are financed through the National Endowment for Democracy, which was set up in 1983 to channel grants for promoting democracy in developing nations. The National Endowment receives about $100 million annually from Congress. Freedom House also gets the bulk of its money from the American government, mainly from the State Department.”

    The Funding

Digging into Prachatai’s globalist funding exposes further the inner workings of the Wall Street-London global corporatocracy and how they disingenuously promote their agenda through NGOs, “civil society,” and by perverting the noble ideals of human rights, freedom, and democracy. Prachatai, like its counterparts throughout the world, is a disingenuous and complicit helping hand, pleading ignorance and literally saying “so what?” when the subject of just who funds them is brought up.

Image: Taken from Heinrich Böll Foundation’s 2009 Annual Report, globalist criminal bankster George Soros’ ubiquity within socially engineered movements is confirmed once again. Here he is listed under “Prominent Guests and Partners of the Foundation.” (click image to enlarge)

    ….

Prachatai, in their latest disclosure, breaks their funding down year-to-year. One name that is ubiquitous is George Soros and his Open Society Institute which has funded Prachatai millions of baht over the years, beginning in 2005 and continuing until today under the Soros-connected Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF). HBF is a shameless promoter of supranational governance, pushing the verified fraud that is the “climate change agenda,” and even helped Soros’ Global Voices in networking and training Arab bloggers in 2009 to prepare them for the upcoming “Arab Spring.” HBF’s 32-page 2009 annual report is a globalist progress report that includes funding and supporting fake progressive-liberal projects and outright worldwide sedition.

Image: From IMS’s 2010 Annual Report, WikiLeaks figurehead Julian Assange pops in on a George Soros, ICFJ, IMS orgy of disinformation. Soros’ various funded revolutions have used Assange’s handy work as a rhetorical springboard to get into motion, therefore it is only right that Assange be given yet another stage upon which to promote the ongoing hoax that is WikiLeaks. Anti-establishment, Julian Assange is not. (click image to enlarge)
    ….

Prachatai’s 2009-2010 funding included 1.79 million baht from the Media Development Loan Fund (MDLF), yet another Soros-funded globalist organization which also includes the US State Department and Soros-infested International Media Support (IMS) as donors. IMS literally trains foreigners to report the news according to Western standards & values, or in other words, according to the Western narrative. It is not surprising to see IMS active in every nation the US State Department is feverishly attempting to create unrest via its National Endowment for Democracy and Freedom House organizations, including Belarus, China, Iran, Ukraine, and across the Middle East. In one truly surreal scene taken from IMS’s 2010 annual report, Wikileaks fraud Julian Assange appears via video link on a stage littered with the logos of IMS, George Soros’ Open Society Institute, and the Fortune 500 corporate-fascist infested “International Center for Journalists” which suspiciously includes Bank of America’s marketing officer and PR firm representatives from McKinsey & Co. and Edelman (a proud corporate sponsor of the Egyptian revolutions) on its board of directors.

Another name that seems quite active throughout Prachatai’s 8 year existence is the Rockefeller Foundation which initially bought the organization its computers and whose partner, the “Community Organization Development Institute (CODI),” funded Prachatai 1.89 million baht in 2004. CODI also boasts UN support as well as a partnership with the eugenicists at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. There is also the Fund for Global Human Rights (FGHR) which has funded Prachatai over half a million baht over the course of two consecutive years. FGHR is nothing more than a funding arm for the Sigrid Trust who also funds the International Crisis Group, an unelected US think-tank that meddles directly in the internal affairs of other nations. In fact, ICG member Mohammed ElBaradei literally led the US-funded Egyptian revolution, a true testament to the disingenuous nature of both these “democratic awakenings” and the dubious personalities attempting to wrestle control away from embattled regimes around the world.

We finally make our way to by far Prachatai’s number one patron; certainly not its own readership — not by a long shot — but rather the US State Department-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED), one of the most notorious, duplicitous organization in America, on par with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), as it literally works in tandem with the CIA’s activities (along with USAID who is also funding Prachatai via their SAPAN project) in subverting governments and overthrowing entire nations for US corporate-financier interests.

NED has funded Prachatai 1.5 million baht 3 years consecutively, including this year, along with USAID who has funded Prachatai an additional 2 million baht under the guise of the SAPAN Project which presumes to teach Thais how to conduct local government.

Image: NED-funded Freedom House nominates Thailand’s NED-funded Prachatai for the Deutsche Welle Blog Awards earlier this year, thus illustrating the contrived circus that is the collective propaganda outfit’s legitimacy. (click on image to enlarge)
    ….

And while Freedom House is not listed by Prachatai as a contributing, as it itself is also funded by NED, it is surely worthy of honorable mention. Freedom House contributes a steady stream of rhetorical support and nominations for various contrived awards like this years’ “Deutsche Welle Blog Award” while Prachatai reciprocates by loyally copying and pasting any “helpful” Freedom House reports targeting Thailand or neighboring Asian nations.

NED and Freedom House are run by Warmongering Imperialists

Despite Prachatai’s own “who cares?” attitude regarding especially their NED funding, in reality there exists an immense disparity between the stated goal of NED, that is, “supporting freedom around the world,” and the backgrounds and stated agendas of those populating NED’s board of directors. The same could easily be said of Freedom House and its board of directors.

Upon that board of directors, who, judging by their supposed mission to support “freedom around the world,” we should find Nobel Peace Prize laureates, accomplished diplomats, and definitive examples of democracy in action. Instead, we have John Bohn who traded petrochemicals, was an international banker for 13 years with Wells Fargo, and is currently serving as a principal for a global advisory and consulting firm, GlobalNet Partners, which assists foreign businesses by making their “entry into the complex China market easy.” Surely Bohn’s ability to manipulate China’s political landscape through NED’s various activities both inside of China and along its peripheries constitutes an alarming conflict of interests. However, it appears “conflict of interests” is a reoccurring theme throughout both NED and Freedom House.

Bohn is joined by Rita DiMartino who worked for Council on Foreign Relations corporate member AT&T as “Vice President of Congressional Relations” as well as a member of the CFR herself. Also representing the Fortune 500 is Kenneth Duberstein, a board member of the war profiteering Boeing Company, big oil’s ConocoPhillips, and the Mack-Cali Realty Corporation. Duberstein also served as a director of Fannie Mae until 2007. He too is a CFR member as are two of the companies he chairs, Boeing and ConocoPhillips.

We then consider several of the certified warmongers serving upon NED’s board of directors including Francis Fukuyama, Zalmay Khalilzad, Will Marshall, and Vin Weber, all signatories of the pro-war, pro-corporate, utterly insane Project for a New American Century. Within the pages of documents produced by this “think tank” are pleas to various US presidents to pursue war against sovereign nations, the increase of troops in nations already occupied by US forces, and what equates to a call for American global hegemony in a Hitlerian 90-page document titled “Rebuilding America’s Defenses.” As we will see, this warmongering think tank serves as a nexus around which fellow disingenuous rights advocate Freedom House also gravitates.

The “Statement of Principles,” signed off by NED chairmen Francis Fukuyama, Zalmay Khalilzad, and Vin Weber, states, “we need to accept responsibility for America’s unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.” Of course by “international order” they mean meddling beyond the sovereign borders of the United States and is merely used as a euphemism for global imperialism. Other Neo-Con degenerates that signed their name to this statement include Freedom House’s Paula Dobriansky, Dan Quayle (formally), and Donald Rumsfeld (formally), along with Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, Eliot Cohen, and Elliot Abrams.

A PNAC “Statment on Post-War Iraq” regarding a wholehearted endorsement of nation-building features the signatures of NED chairman Will Marshall, Freedom House’s Frank Carlucci (2002), and James Woolsey (formally), along with Martin Indyk (Lowy Institute board member, co-author of the conspiring “Which Path to Persia?” report), and William Kristol and Robert Kagan both of the warmongering Foreign Policy Initiative. It should be noted that the Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) is, for all intents and purposes, PNAC’s latest incarnation and just recently featured an open letter to House Republicans calling on them to disregard the will of the American people and continue pursuing the war in Libya. The FPI letter even suggests that the UN resolution authorizing the war in the first place, was holding America “hostage” and that it should be exceeded in order to do more to “help the Libyan opposition.”

An untitled PNAC letter addressed to then US President George Bush regarding a general call for global warmongering received the seal of approval from Freedom House’s Ellen Bork (2007), Ken Adelman (also former lobbyist for Thailand’s Thaksin Shinawatra via Edelman), and James Woolsey (formally), along with Neo-Con degenerates Richard Perle, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, and the always disingenuous demagogue Daniel Pipes.

The list goes on further, including Jeane Kirkpatrick, Leonard Sussman, and Max Kampelman. It is safe to say that neither NED nor Freedom House garners within its ranks characters appropriate for their alleged cause of “supporting freedom around the world.” It is also safe to say that the principles of “democracy,” “freedom,” and “human rights” they allegedly champion for, are merely being leveraged to co-opt well meaning people across the world to carry out their own self-serving agenda.

    Conclusion

Organizations like Prachatai that take money from these confessed, ill-intentioned, meddling, neo-imperialist dens of degeneracy, are either knowing accomplices or remiss beyond explanation. In either case, their legitimacy was not compromised the moment they decided to hide their funding, nor after they fully admitted the compromised nature of their paid-for “journalism” when pressured with persistent irrefutable evidence. Instead, Prachtai’s legitimacy was entirely lost the monument they decided to accept foreign funding in the first place — which as their own disclosure accounts for, was on day one of their operations.

Image: While immature minds succumb to a Pavlovian giggle at the mere mention of the “New World Order,” Anne-Marie Slaughter, formally of the US State Department, has written an entire book about the inevitable global governance she has dedicated her life to ushering in.
    ….

It is undeniable that a global oligarchy of incredibly wealthy and powerful corporate-financier interests are moving to consolidate power on a global scale, as imperialists have done throughout human history. They are destabilizing and destroying the old world, nation by nation, and replacing it with a new world of their own design, their “civil society.” However, we see the means and ends to which these megalomaniacs gravitate toward. These are means and ends that are entirely abhorrent, self-serving and encapsulated in horrifying dystopian nomenclatures such as “planetary regimes” (current White House Science Adviser John P. Holdren, Ecoscience 1977), or as recent US State Department Director of Policy Planning Anne-Marie Slaughter calls it, the “New World Order.”

Image: A graphical representation of the global corporate-financiers’ emerging “international order.” From the left policy is created by unelected corporate-funded think tanks, where funding arms, contrived international NGOs, and local street fronts like Prachatai carry it out. What is produced is a global, homogenous “civil society” that answers directly to the corporate-financiers that created it. (click image to enlarge)
    ….

The nefarious, sycophantic helping-hands making this nightmare possible are foreign-funded traitors like Prachatai helping destabilize the old world and eagerly promoting the corporate-fascist funded, globally homogeneous “civil society.” They are traitors not just to the Thai people and the Thai nation, but traitors to humanity, traitors willfully helping usher in global governance under the dominion of autocrats who openly plot a global scientific dictatorship. Prachatai most certainly looked at NED’s board of directors during the last two months the Land Destroyer Report has been pressuring them to disclose their full funding and they most certainly know who the absolute degenerate scum is that funds them and what their warmongering agenda is. Yet they press on, indifferent, even elated over rubbing their duplicity in the face of their own readership.

Their financial disclosure begins with a brief history of Prachatai which includes sniveling accounts of police raiding their office, their director being arrested, and their foreign-funded propaganda website being systematically blocked by the Thai government, as if they are the victims of some gross injustice. They act as if anyone should be allowed to take foreign money, masquerade as journalists, intentionally mislead people, and undermine their own nation on behalf of a foreign government. As mentioned before, Prachatai, according to their own financial disclosure, year-to-year is anywhere between 77% and 100% funded by the US government and/or US corporate-funded foundations. This behavior here in Thailand, and around the world, by the helping hands of the globalist corporate-financier agenda is unacceptable.

Stand up to these paid-for liars. Expose their treachery and their disingenuous abuse of liberal and progressive ideals. Stand up against their horrific exploitation of human rights and representative governance to promote their paymasters’ agenda. The world does face tyranny, and its name is globalization. Globalization can be seen in full effect across the deserts of Iraq, throughout the mountains of Afghanistan, and now along the shores of Libya and in the streets of Syria’s border cities. That is the globalist future fake-progressives like Prachatai are the harbingers of.

There will be no liberal singing tomorrows in Prachatai’s Thailand, just as there are no singing tomorrows in Egypt where the paymasters, like John McCain of the International Republican Institute, instrumental in funding and training the Egyptian protesters, now squat upon the Egyptian economy with Fortune 500 corporate-fascists prepared to sink their parasitic probosces into their “newly liberated” markets. That is the future of globalization. That is the future Prachatai is trying to sell Thailand, and just like with their funding, they will deny the truth until the very bitter end.

Notes: 1 US Dollar is equal to approximately 30 Thai Baht/baht. Prachatai also has done a “project” for the “People’s Empowerment Foundation,” another NED-funded NGO front that most recently took part in a Bangkok demonstration for Malaysia’s NED-funded Bersih movement.

Bangkok, Thailand July 16, 2011 – No one would honestly suggest that cleaning up politics and holding any given government accountable for their actions is not an honorable, noble cause. However, when such a movement takes to the streets, but is funded by a foreign government and led by servants of foreign interests, it becomes obvious it has been hijacked in order to exploit the aspirations of a frustrated public for a self-serving agenda. Such a movement will ultimately fail to achieve the goals it proclaims to support and will give rise to corruption and tyranny the likes of which its followers could not imagine.

A recent example of this phenomenon is unfolding in the streets and within the political scene of Malaysia where a movement calling themselves “Bersih,” or the “Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections” has captured the minds and imaginations of Malaysia’s youth and progressive enclaves, both in Malaysia and around the world. While Bersih’s leader Ambiga Sreenevasan claims ad nauseum “we are fighting for free and fair elections,” what she fails to share quite as often with her impressionable, well-intentioned followers is the fact that her movement is also funded and has received training from the United States government and a host of foreign corporate-funded foundations.

The Malaysian Insider reported on June 27, 2011 that Bersih leader Ambiga Sreenevassan “admitted to Bersih receiving some money from two US organisations — the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Open Society Institute (OSI) — for other projects, which she stressed were unrelated to the July 9 march.” A visit to the NDI website revealed indeed that funding and training had been provided by the US organization – before NDI took down the information and replaced it with a more benign version purged entirely of any mention of Bersih. For funding Ambiga claims is innocuous, the NDI’s rushed obfuscation of any ties to her organization suggests something more sinister at play.

Photo: NDI’s website before taking down any mention to Malaysia’s Bersih movement. (click image to enlarge)

    ….

Casting further doubt on Bersih’s real agenda is the involvement of Malaysia’s opposition front Pakatan Rakyat whose coalition members promised to bring in hundreds of thousands of supporters to take part in the July 9th, 2011 Bersih 2.0 rally. The opposition front is led by Anwar Ibrahim and a coalition of opposition parties with a long history of affiliation with Anwar. That Anwar Ibrahim himself was Chairman of the Development Committee of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1998, held lecturing positions at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, was a consultant to the World Bank, and a panelist at the Neo-Con lined National Endowment for Democracy’s “Democracy Award” and a panelist at a NED donation ceremony – the very same US organization funding and supporting Bersih – casts irrefutable doubt on their official agenda for “clean and fair elections.”

Photo: Taken from the US National Endowment for Democracy’s 2007 Democracy Award event held in Washington D.C., Anwar Ibrahim can be seen to the far left and participated as a “panelist.” It is no surprise that NED is now subsidizing his bid to worm his way back into power in Malaysia. (click image to enlarge)
    ….

In reality, Bersih’s leadership along with Anwar and their host of foreign sponsors are attempting to galvanize the very real grievances of the Malaysian people and exploit them to propel themselves into power. While many may be tempted to suggest that “clean and fair elections” truly are Bersih and Anwar’s goal, and that US funding via NED’s NDI and billionaire bankster George Soros’ Open Society are entirely innocuous, a thorough examination of these organizations, how they operate, and their admitted agenda reveals the proverbial cliff Bersih is leading its followers and the nation of Malaysia over.

NED, NDI, IRI, & Freedom House are run by warmongering imperialists

We begin our thorough examination of these organizations with a look at the board of directors of NED, which funds NDI and who, judging by their supposed mission to support “freedom around the world,” should be filled with Nobel Peace Prize laureates, accomplished diplomats, and definitive examples of democracy in action.

Within the pages of documents produced by this “think tank” are pleas to various US presidents to pursue war against sovereign nations, the increase of troops in nations already occupied by US forces, and what equates to a call for American global hegemony in a Hitlerian 90-page document titled “Rebuilding Americas Defenses.” As we will see, this warmongering think tank serves as a nexus around which fellow disingenuous “rights advocate” Freedom House also gravitates.

An untitled PNAC letter addressed to then US President George Bush regarding a general call for global warmongering received the seal of approval from Freedom Houses’ Ellen Bork (2007), Ken Adelman (also former lobbyist for Thailand’s Thaksin Shinawatra via Edelman), and James Woolsey (formally), along with Neo-Con degenerates Richard Perle, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, and the always disingenuous demagogue Daniel Pipes.

It is safe to say that the National Endowment for Democracy is not interested in any shape, form, or way in “supporting freedom around the world,” nor Malaysia’s “clean and fair elections,” but rather leveraging these ideals to establish an insidious, self-serving, global corporate oligarchy. Within the confines of PNAC, and its successors, the Foreign Policy Initiative and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, these supposed “democracy and human rights advocates” have engineered and promoted the continuation of the most obscene and horrendous chapters of mass murder, invasion, occupation, and unrelenting war in recent human history.

Photo: NED’s long reach: Thai protesters in Bangkok rallied at the Malaysian Embassy on behalf of Bersih protesters that were arrested preceding the July 9th rally in Kuala Lumpur. The event was covered by NED-funded Prachatai, featuring NED-funded protesters drawn from the “People’s Empowerment Foundation,” protesting on behalf of NED’s NDI-funded Bersih movement in Malaysia.
    ….

In turn, NED, an organization that Malaysia’s Anwar Ibrahim is an active participant in, funds a myriad of propagandists and sub-funding arms, most notably Freedom House, the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute which is on record funding Malaysia’s Bersih movement. Disingenuous, warmonger-infested advocacy groups like Freedom House have been relentlessly campaigning in support of Bersih. A selection of their “reports” can be read below, and seen cited by the international corporate media to bolster Bersih’s non-existent legitimacy.

A selection of Freedom House’s rhetorical support for Malaysia’s Berish:

“Arrests in Advance of Rally for Electoral Reforms in Malaysia Raise Deep Concerns”
“Malaysian Government’s Brutal Crackdown Violates Fundamental Rights”
“Freedom of Association Under Threat: The New Authoritarians’ Offensive Against Civil Society”
“Letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Re: Malaysian Government Crackdown”

    The Council on Foreign Relations

The Council on Foreign Relations, a US based think tank that represents the collective interests and agenda of the Fortune 500 corporations that constitute its membership has also weighed in on Malaysia’s Bersih movement, decidedly behind the foreign-funded organization and applauding the division it is creating within Malaysian society. It should be noted that the CFR praises the “fine” coverage of Bersih by Australian National University’s New Mandala blog run by imposter-academic Andrew Walker. Walker in turn, has been recently caught denying his involvement with the Lowy Institute, yet another collection of fraud academics, fake journalists, and policy wonks all in the employ of the Fortune 500.

George Soros & Open Society Institute (OSI)

George Soros’ Open Society Institute not only was cited by Bersih leader Ambiga Sreenevasan as having funded her opposition street-front, but is also funding a myriad of corporate agenda-serving “democracy and human rights advocacy” groups providing rhetorical support and contrived metrics cited by the corporate media to further lend Bersih legitimacy. Open Society funds NDI partner organization “Transparency International” which also receives funding from Exxon, General Electric, Shell, Pfizer, British Petroleum, HSBC Holdings, and Procter & Gamble. Soros’ Open Society also funds Amnesty International (page 10) and Human Rights Watch which have both rushed to Bersih’s defense before, during, and after their July 9th street rally.

Soros-funded Human Rights Watch’s support for the Malaysian Bersih movement:

“Malaysia: Investigate Crackdown on Pro-Democracy March”
“Malaysia: End Crackdown on Peaceful Campaigners”
“Malaysia: Free 30 Peaceful Political Activists”
“Joint Letter to Prime Minister on Violations against Bersih 2.0″

It should be noted that the “joint letter” was signed off by fellow Soros and Fortune 500-funded Amnesty International, as well as NED, Soros, and Tides Foundation-funded International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH).

Soros-funded Amnesty International’s support for the Malaysian Bersih movement:

“Malaysia: Further information: Repression continues after reform rally”
“Malaysia: Police use brutal tactics against peaceful protesters”
“Malaysia: Hundreds of Peaceful Protesters Arrested”
“Malaysia: Malaysian activists held in secret detention”
“Malaysia: MP, activists detained for protesting”
“Malaysia: End mass repression of pro-reform activists”
“Malaysia: Joint open letter: Human Rights Violations against Bersih 2.0″

    Conclusion

If there was any doubt in one’s mind regarding the nature of the National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros’ Open Society, and the myriad of contrived self-appointed international arbiters serving the globalists’ agenda, who they support, and why, reading the signed confession put out by the Project for a New American Century, calling for American global hegemony should lay it to rest. Just as the British Empire and the Romans before them leveraged the concept of spreading “civilized society” to sell their aspirations of global conquest to an ignorant population, the modern Anglo-American corporate-financier oligarchy is leveraging the concepts of spreading “human rights,” “democracy,” and “freedom” to sell their emerging “international order.” This is an order described by Neo-Con degenerate Robert Kagan as serving “the needs of the United States and its allies, which constructed it,” and clearly not the liberal democratic utopia many progressive activists believe they are contributing to.

Consider the insidious methods used by the Romans to pacify and conquer entire populations by “integrating” them into their own Roman “international order.”

    From HistoryWorld.net:
‘His object was to accustom them to a life of peace and quiet by the provision of amenities. He therefore gave official assistance to the building of temples, public squares and good houses. He educated the sons of the chiefs in the liberal arts, and expressed a preference for British ability as compared to the trained skills of the Gauls. The result was that instead of loathing the Latin language they became eager to speak it effectively. In the same way, our national dress came into favour and the toga was everywhere to be seen. And so the population was gradually led into the demoralizing temptation of arcades, baths and sumptuous banquets. The unsuspecting Britons spoke of such novelties as ‘civilization’, when in fact they were only a feature of their enslavement.’

Tacitus Annals of Imperial Rome, translated Michael Grant, Penguin 1956, 1975, page 72

Indeed the alleged “free and fair elections,” proposed to Malaysia by the likes of NED and Freedom House to be carried out by foreign-funded Bersih, are nothing more than features of Malaysia’s own enslavement. For a look into Malaysia’s future, one should consider Egypt’s recent turmoil – turmoil many Bersih supporters eagerly hold up as an inspiration for their current movement.

As Egyptians rallied to “free” themselves, they toppled a nationalist government and ushered in Mohammed ElBaradei, a stooge in full service of the United States via the International Crisis Group, alongside unlikely allies like the President of Israel Shimon Peres, Bank of Israel’s Stanley Fischer, and America’s geopolitical meddler Zbigniew Brzezinski. Just recently, Senator John McCain, chairman of the International Republican Institute, a NED-funded NGO on record for being behind the “Arab Spring,” took with him members of various Fortune 500 corporations for a tour of newly “freed” Cairo. Their agenda is “economic liberalization” and the total integration of Egypt’s once sovereign economy into the Anglo-American empire. Like the ancient British, the Egyptian youth are dazzled with their new Western trappings and their new liberal democracy, courtesy of the insidious, unseen tentacles emanating from the globalist oligarchy and led by a known agent of the West.

Malaysia faces similar crossroads and must decide for themselves if they will clean up their government themselves through pragmatism, truly independent grassroots activism, and technical solutions to solve the problems they face as a sovereign nation, or if they will follow a feckless, self-defeating political agenda manipulated and led by foreign interests, dividing and destabilizing their nation so that foreign powers can sweep into power their stooges and once again direct Malaysia’s destiny for them, to the benefit of no Malaysian.

    water cannons against demonstrators.
    Nile Bowie

Scenes of chaos unfolded on the streets of downtown Kuala Lumpur this past weekend, culminating in an event, which many have called the most defining moment in recent Malaysian history.

Thousands of people, many well-intentioned, first-time demonstrators gathered to voice their discontent about the Malaysian electoral system under the umbrella of Bersih 2.0, calling itself ‘The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections’, which is comprised of a ‘coalition of like minded civil society organizations unaffiliated to any political party’.

Amidst this climate of seeming neutrality, the ruling Malaysian political party Barisan Nasional declared the gathering illegal and has made stark allegations regarding group’s true intentions, accusing the movement to be a vehicle utilizing mass fervor to strengthen foreign funded political parties associated with opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, the former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minster and former Chairman of the Development Committee of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Bersih 2.0 chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan has admitted to Malaysian Press that two US-based organizations, the National Democratic Institute (which receives funding from the US National Endowment for Democracy) and George Soros’s Open Society Institute have donated an undisclosed amount of money to the organisation; these think tanks and Intelligence front groups based in the United States are synonymous for authoring US Foreign Policy and shaping world opinion towards foreign leaders as they actively fund various oppositions movements through color revolutions, which lead to the installation of leaders of whom are friendly to objectives of the Anglo-American establishment and profiteers of Corporate high finance.

The Bersih 2.0 rallies succeeded in briefly unifying
    Malaysia’s various ethnic groups
amidst a history of racial tension.
Malaysia is multicultural society with a history of race related tensions between the predominantly Islamic Malay ethnicity of whom tend to control political bureaucracy through preferential treatment of members within their racial group and ethnically Chinese Malaysians, descendants of settlers and economic migrants seeking employment in Colonial British rubber plantations of whom today dominate the business and commercial sectors and hold the highest national income. Regardless of Bersih 2.0’s objectives or its utilization from Opposition leaders, the mass gathering succeeded in creating a patriotic and carnival-like atmosphere of unity between its participants of all ethnicities, as they behaved nonviolently and in a uniform stride for greater representation prior to riot police distinguishing any chance of dialogue by dispersing the gathering with waves of tear gas and chemical-laden water cannons, amidst numerous cases of heavy handed police brutality and arbitrary arrests, to the extent of launching tear gas canisters into the compound of a nearby hospital where demonstrators sought cover.

Initially, many Malaysians may naively welcome support from American Institutions, which market themselves on keen selling points such as ‘instilling democracy and funding freedom’, this funding is not intended to alleviate corruption or to justly persecute police brutality, it is intended to increase Washington’s presence in countries integrated in China’s economic orbit and the eventual installation of a compliant Opposition leader, friendly to the bidding of International Financial regulatory bodies and planners of the New Financial World Order.

Amnesty International has urged the United States Government not to be a spectator while Malaysian authorities defy human rights by dispersing its demonstrations, it’s director adding “If the U.S. government does not take strong approach to human rights in
Malaysia, it will seriously affect the United States credibility and
effectiveness on human rights in the region”. Dramatic coverage from Al-Jazeera prods the same wound amidst UN experts warning the methods of crowd dispersal exercised by the Malaysian authorities actively undermine democracy.

While it is distressing to see well-intentioned people from every age demographic gather in the pursuit of creating better order in their electoral system be subject to police brutality, their activism will be leveraged and totally exploited by media outlets and foreign Governments to undermine the credibility of the Malaysian Government, which obviously then provides a outlet for Western Governments to back their own opposition candidate. NGO’s urging the United States Government to enter the dialogue on human rights abuses is equivalent to using a searing branding iron to treat third degree burns; in fact such statements reflect total negligence for human rights by summoning a country currently involved in five wars in the Middle East and North Africa while domestic enforcing heavily militarized domestic police protocol. While aggression cannot be denied on the part of Malaysian police who dispersed the event, it is curious that similar methods of crushing peaceful gatherings utilized in Europe, Israel and North America are met with a total media blackout, often using more elaborate forms of dispersal such as rubber bullets and sound frequency cannons on small gatherings dwarfed in comparison to the volumes of people present at the recent Bersih demonstration.

Bersih 2.0 Chairperson, Ambiga Sreenevasan has
admitted to receiving funds from George
    Soros’s Open Society Institute, among
other donors, which notoriously fund opposition
    movements’ intent on regime
change in favor of US foreign policy.
Obviously the mainstream accounts make no omission regarding Internationalist billionaire George Soros’s direct donations to the Bersih Organization, a man who has previously rustled feathers with leaders of the Barisan Nasional, such as former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad, a vocal critic against the official account of the September 11th attacks, Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, and regulations of the financial institutions such as the IMF which utilize ‘gun to head’ policies of national budget restructuring through lending conditions and structural adjustment programs. Mahathir has previously made accusations against George Soros for using his influence in the currency speculation market to contribute to engineering the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis as a punishment for allowing Myanmar to join the ASEAN Union.

Malaysia’s central bank, Bank Negara reported a loss of approximately six billion USD when George Soros previously placed bets against it. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi appealed to Madeleine Albright, stating the Malaysian Ringgit and ASEAN currencies “continue to be bedeviled by currency fluctuations caused by hostile elements bent on such unholy actions. It is the height of international criminality that the fate of millions could be subject to the mercy of a few unscrupulous traders.” During the 1997 meeting of the International Monetary Fund in Hong Kong, Mahathir stated, “Great countries tell us that we must accept being impoverished, because that is what international finance is all about. Obviously, we are not sophisticated enough to accept losing money so that the manipulators become richer. We are also warned that these are powerful people. If we make a noise or we act in any way to frustrate them, they would be annoyed. And when they are annoyed, they can destroy us altogether, they can reduce us to basket cases.”

Mahathir’s views on the negative effects of currency trading and speculation from 1997 are a breath of fresh air, especially in today’s climate where wars are fought over financial regulations, as seen in the recent attack on Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi amidst discussions of creating a Pan-African Dinar currency backed in gold. Former Indonesian President Suharto submitted his resignation while IMF riots swept his country, as the International Financial Regulatory bodies demanded the abolition of Government subsidies on staples such as rice and bread while cutting investment contribution towards State-run enterprises; chaos ensued in the streets as the Indonesian Rupiah suffered a debilitating 85% devaluation at the hands of International speculators. On the subject of the crisis in Indonesia, Mahathir offered, “Can it be that all the assets of that huge country, with 220 million hard-working people, are suddenly worth only one-sixth of its previous value? What, indeed, is the worth of a nation, if someone can devalue and even bankrupt it?” Mahathir attracted the envy of other emerging markets by creating exchange controls in defense of the Malaysian Ringgit, which safeguarded the currency, as it’s regional neighbors suffered IMF imposed austerity.

    George Soros
George Soros is a hoarding Internationalist whose reputation clearly shows him to be no friend of the Malaysian people, the fact that Ambiga Sreenevasan has accepted funds from his Open Society Institute while claiming Bersih 2.0 to be “wholly funded by Malaysians” is simply not true and should raise more than an eyebrow. George Soros has been an integral figure in the funding of opposition movements in the Arab Spring, only to pave the way to governance for opposition leaders such as Mohamed ElBaradei and other trustees of think tanks and other like-minded US based outlets that would be happy to exploit their own people in a bid to grab power; in total covert imperialism, Soros has further contributed funding to organisations attempting to author a new Egyptian constitution. Soros’s influence over the mainstream media is astounding; Fox News reports over thirty major news organizations take his dirty money, surely this friendly contribution would not contribute bias to the programming content in anyway. BBC reports Soros vainly calling for regime change in Iran by insinuating an overthrown by means of the “bloodiest of revolutions”. Malaysians may not be happy with the current Prime Minister Najib Razak and the coalition of Barisan Nasional (which has practically ruled Malaysia since it’s independence), however it is unfortunate that populist opinion in countries of interest to Internationalists are utilized as a vehicle for undermining national sovereignty and eventual regime change.

In the Malaysian context, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim would likely be the beneficiary of unrest created by Bersih 2.0, as the demonstrators will express their feelings of repression during the next Malaysian election. After the previous Bersih demonstration resulted in similar methods of dispersion, Anwar’s opposition Pakatan Rakyat (People’s Alliance) party gained control of four state Governments. Concerning the Bersih demonstrations, Dr. Mahathir offered, “Its objective is to tarnish the government’s name and the police, and with that the opposition parties will win. There will be some people very angry who will probably, because of the current arrests and action taken, be disenchanted with the Barisan Nasional.” Curiously enough, Anwar Ibrahim served as Deputy Prime Minster from 1993 to 1998 under the administration of Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad; the pair initially disagreed on the utilization of recovery methods during the 1997 Asian Economic Crisis. During a 1997 meeting of the Malaysian Cabinet, Ibrahim conceived something of an economic coup by approving IMF austerity measures without consent of then Prime Minister and vocal critic, Mahathir. Anwar favored an economic view open to speculators and defended George Soros as he threatened to ‘destroy the country’ and remove Mahathir from power. During a visit to Malaysia, Al Gore referred to the mobs of people in the streets led by Anwar shouting “Reformasi!” as the “brave people of Malaysia”; the reforms Al Gore had in mind were strict IMF conditionalities which would cause strict foreign control over the Malaysian economy, of which Mahathir had spoken and guarded so eloquently against.

    Ibrahim at the Pentagon with
    US Secretary of Defense,
    William S. Cohen
Anwar Ibrahim issued a statement in Asian Wall Street Journal suggesting that developing countries should stop “pointing a finger at speculators and put their houses in order first” by ending their “ambitious plans for outlandish projects.” Perhaps, Anwar views the symbol of Malaysia’s economic prosperity, the twin Petronas Towers as “outlandish”. The tension between the two grew as Mahathir claimed, “Prospective colonialists and their puppets in Malaysia are still trying to weaken this country” and that Anwar “used foreigners and the foreign media to support the actions of his supporters in order to topple the government of our country, his country.” After his years as Deputy Prime Minister, Ibrahim’s close friend, Paul Wolfowitz hired him as a consultant to the World Bank, amidst stints with George Soros-funded International Crisis Group and Dick Cheney’s Foundation For the Future, essentially an engine of South East Asian regime change. While Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad may not have led a mistake-proof administration, his asserts on how to handle the 1997 Asian Economic Crisis were bold and his administration presided over an ultimately successful economic transformation of Malaysia, from an exporter of raw material to a manufacturer of steel and vehicles. Cases of police brutality against Anwar Ibrahim during his incarceration are regrettable; his politics are obviously a threat to Barisan Nasional as riot police targeted him during the Bersih 2.0 demonstration by horizontally firing a tear gas canister in his direction, which struck Ibrahim’s body guard, collapsing his jaw.

    Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim clearly
targeted by authorities as riot police shot a
tear gas canister in his direction, collapsing
    his bodyguard’s jaw.
In this climate of apparent foreign funding subversion, the ruling Government’s actions have played out poorly; they have succeeded in appearing to be authoritarian in the world of International media bias and their actions have contributed to many Malaysians feeling spiteful, repressed, neglected, and left viewing Barisan Nasional as a self-serving hollow body. Irrespective of Bersih’s self-publicized disassociation with any political party, surely the actions of the ruling Government spoke volumes to indirectly strengthen the opposition parties led by Anwar Ibrahim. The pursuit of clean and fair elections by means of using indelible ink, postal ballot reform, and maintenance of the electoral roll are totally coherent and rational goals that would help to reduce corruption within the electoral system and they are goals worth fighting for; however an investigation of funds Ambiga Sreenevasan claims to have received from George Soros and the National Democratic Institute is imperative.

The Inspector General of Police recently announced an investigation of Bersih’s admitted foreign funding while commissioning the Malaysian central bank, Bank Negara to assist in tracing the international money trail. As Western-owned international media has leveraged the plight of the Bersih movement’s activists, it’s opposition leaders are surely bound to receive credibility as Ibrahim warns of further demonstrations materializing in the form of ‘Yellow Saturdays’; If the opposition politics of Anwar Ibrahim use Bersih as a vehicle for his parties’ ascendency then ultimately, the Malaysian people will lose.

  11. Tun,

It perplexes me when you quote anti-western propaganda whilst ignoring the fact that it is sectarian violence in the middle-east not Israel or the West that is the cause for most of your deaths in the middle-east. Muslim Nationalists such as Yasser Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Assad, Mubarak, Gaddafi, Bashir, Ahmadinejad etc or Religious Wahabists, The Muslim Brotherhood (Sayyid Qutb’s Cult) or Ayatollahs are simply the root-cause of Middle East Issues. Not Israel, Not Western Imperialism, Not Zionism, Not Christianity, etc etc etc.

In the mean-time keep carrying the Banner of Palestine which really is a euphemism for Dar-Al-Islam. Lets be honest Tun you are a Xenophobic follower of the ‘Prophet’ who believes it is everyone else’s fault except for Islam. You and the rest of your followers believe in the ‘Prophet’s innocence even when he broke the ‘Treaty of Hudaybiyah’. How can you justify slaughtering the Quraiysh his own flesh and blood ?

You believe that Jerusalem belongs only to Islam and continue to shed Crocodile Tears. Justice for Palestinians until there are no Jews or Christians left in the middle-east. It shouldn’t be that hard after-all, as you say, there are 1.5 billion Muslims and only 8 million Israeli’s (Jews, Arabs and Christians).

Go ahead and prepare to siege Jerusalem. Yahweh says ‘Get ready; be prepared’ (Ezekiel 38: 7)

Peace Be With You in Jesus Name

Remember: Israel is bad! Its existence keeps reminding Islamists’ what a bunch of losers they are.

  12. Salam Tun,

Actually the western is interested in oil in Arab countries. They dare not disturb Syria because Russia is having a navel base in Syrian port and China control Syrian oil. In Arab countries where there is no oil the western countries do not bother to disturb. UN as everybody knows is the a western tools. The Arabs never learn a lesson for not to park their monies in USA. When you tried to introduce Gold Dinner, they just could not bothered. Now when USD down, who suffer.

  13. the sarkozy rebels are starting to ethnic killing people of various colors in libya as we speak. Nothing of this kind is ever reported. It just shows how the media is propagating the elite rulers of this world. They are after the 30billion assest frozen by the US…..and as usual it will take tens of thousands of innocent lives to awaken the world….God have mercy…..

  14. The UN is hijacked by the mighty. Shouldnt we be protecting our muslims brothers sir by going againts UN.

  15. Dear Tun,

Will USA survive their economic and financial turmoil? Yes and they must. There is no two ways about it.

But what is of interest is the outcome to the world at large consequent to this maladay? There will be a major shift in focus in international trade patterns and dependencies. USA as a major trading partner to developing nations will take a hit.

It is now down to China to replace the USA as a major importer of the world’s exports. Is this possible in the immediate term? Not likely.

All the more that we should foster cooperation with all nations to develop their economies so they can be equal trading partners. The world will be better for it.

They do not need aids and loans – with strings attached which will benefit the lender more than the loan receiver. They need investment, development and trade.

It is time the highly developeed nations slow down. And true enough it is already happening..by god’s will. No matter how hard they try to prevent it, it is now happening.

These develop nations need to slow down the rate of development and move it the the under developed and developing nations. They will find that their pie will have grown bigger plus these countries will be in a position to make their citizens live better lifes.

This is the opportunity for us to change the dynamics of the world economic and financial system to be more equitable and just to all nations of the world.

USA and the developed nations needs to regress for the underdeveloped nations and developing nations to catch up and develop their development and trade. The world trading pie will grow in leaps and bounds.

Since USA and Europe will not do it themselves..their own actions and with the will of god has forced them to now regress.

Let there be a better future for all children of the world..not just for the children of USA and Europe but for all children including those in Africa, Asia, South America, Middle East, etc..

    Ramadan Mubarak

  16. Dear Tun,

    Salam Ramadan

  17. Dear Tun,

Your suggestion looks good and implementable. However, the problem will be getting the needed support from capable member nations of the UN to buy into this idea and get it moving.

Perhaps the Malaysian Goverment, Army and Tun Dr Mahathir can push forward this proposal to the UN and Security Council.

Malaysia can take the lead to move this idea.

Malaysia along with Bosnia, Indonesia and Nigeria can form the bulk of the UN Peace Keeping Forces to intervene in the Middle East or Arab Spring.

Tun Dr. Mahathir, as respected Muslim Statesman can be the mediator.

As the chinese saying goes – in every crisis there is an opportunity. We believe this is the opportunity to put things right in the Middle East, i.e. Libya, Syria, Egypt, etc..

May Allah open our hearts and minds to find a Peaceful resolution to these civil unrest/wars.

    Ramadan Kareem

  18. Dearest Tun

1-We all know the reasons behind the actions of the West especially when it is involving the oil rich countries that they have a phobia with and who are not friendly enough with them or their boss Israel.

2-We will see more desperate moves from the West as they struggle to keep their legacy that is now beginning to crumble from eventually biting the dust.We are now surely at a very precarious time of our lives. Before the good times appear we may go through the bad times first.

3-But we shall not be despaired.God have promised that he will destroy the wrongdoers for their sins and will raise in their wake fresh generations to succeed them.Whose power can prevail over God’s?

4-Only God can save humanity and to God we shall surrender our total faith.

5-His promises are true.Don’t worry be happy.

    Thanks Tun

  19. Hi Tun,

I fully agree with your viewpoint. I have a humble opinion to add.
In addition to the United Nations – appointed commanders, if it is in accordance with God’s will, I suggest:

    1. The UN should have a special task force made up of top experts with certified qualifications from all the member countries that have met a certain standard or criteria, to be in charge of organizing elections for all member countries.

    2. Database of the people eligible to vote should be kept updated by this task force from time to time.

    3. Biometric identification is to be done at the entrance of each polling station, and be used as a pass to vote. No record that links the vote and the biometric ID should be kept.

    4. Every 5 years or so this process should be repeated. Since each country is assigned a specific time slot in a round robin manner, the same task force will be kept busy all the time.

    5. All media and TV stations in a country that will participate in the elections are required to air live telecast of debates between the leaders of the participating political parties, for a reasonable period of time, before the actual voting begins.

    6. Those lost in the elections will be guaranteed political assylum if they flee their countries. But whether their assets are to be frozen or not will be determined by the evidence presented to a special court, which is to be made up of top legal experts from the member countries that have met a certain standard or criteria.

If the people know that every 5 years or so they can make a decision, they will not resort to bloodshed. Let us start this process with the Arab countries.

    Thank you Tun.

  20. Salam Tun,

    You wrote :

    17. If any side refuses to all these means of peaceful settlement, then the United Nations must act against the recalcitrant side. Force may need to be used to get the recalcitrant to accept United Nations’ efforts at peaceful settlement of the dispute.

    1. I fail to see this logic. In essence, it means “force may need to be used to get at peaceful settlement”. In which case, it is not a peaceful settlement after all.

    2. Brute force by way of the atom bomb was used to end WW2. The war ended because civilisation itself was threatened. Today there are plenty more nuclear facilities, and if the logic of force for peace is used, civilisation may end before we can make enough underground shelters.

    3. I propose intervention by way occupation. When lands in dispute are occupied by foreigners, the locals have to unite, or alternatively, they may vote for being split up for the sake of peace, as in the case of the South Sudan.

    4. And by occupation i mean peaceful militiary occupation, which was done by UN several times using peace keeping soldiers. Thus the UN need to act independently of any other militiary coalition or nation.

    Thank You Tun
