AUSTRALIA'S INDIANS

1. Mr Raj of Sydney, Australia finds my expose of the treatment of Indian students by Australians unpalatable.

2. He says “that doesn’t mean you can lash out at someone before looking at your own country.” Precisely – the Australians should not be condemning Malaysian practices before looking at Australia itself.

3. Malaysian discrimination had never involved genocide and seizing the land of the indigenous. Look at that and many more including the White Australia Policy of the recent past before lashing out at Malaysia.

  1. When I visited Australia in 2001 I found a lot to like about the country. However, I was shocked at the overtly racist attitudes towards Asians on display in the country. But remember, this is the country that wouldn’t open up immigration to Italians, Greeks or Arabs until after WW II. Recent ‘open mindedness’ about Asians in Australia often has a lot to do with the fact that they are fee-paying university students, many taking higher education degrees in technical fields.

  2. Dear YAB Tun, salam mesra harap sihat. Kiriman ulangan selepas susunan semula. Surely a response does not deserve censorship when a wild allegation can be made in the first place(genocide, seizure) If Australia can be told to look at its own backyard what is wrong to point at M’sian behaviour….

One sound bite article of two sentences is a repeat and hardly exposes anything. Front page news articles already done that.
    ………..APPLE WITH APPLE
On genocide and seizure of aboriginal lands, compare apple with apple. One settled in a virtually uninhabited land with friendly aborigines happily staying in the jungles.
White settlers came to inhabited, occupied lands with aborigines who are alien to whites. M’sia don

  4. Sadly this Mr. Raj represents the class of baggage carrier the west has always relied on to justify its crimes against non whites in this case Indians.
Mahatma Gandhi referring to this class of Indian said of them disparagingly:
“Monuments to British adultery in the east. Possessing the virtues of neither but the vices of both”.
The statement was then directed to the Anglo Indians who although darker in complexion than the British were qquite content in the absence of any sense of dignity to play a role more British than the honourable amongst the British would play at independece.
The same mindset can and does apply here to an Indian of suspect identity. Confused and intimidated into subservience at his oppressor.
A good analysis and response to unrelenting Australian attacks on Indians and others of colour is available on “Might is White and White is Right”. The title from a theory and policy Raj subscribes to.

  5. And also benderbuzz.. check your facts – the Malaysian that was murdered in the consulate – he was in fact reported today to have been murdered by Malaysians.
I just think that when other people express an opinion, that’s all it is. How are they interfering? Have they set trade embargoes? Have they told their citizens not to visit our country? No they haven’t. Our responses should be mature and measured, we should have faith in our own systems and politely tell them they can have their opinion, but keep it. The hostility and immaturity shown by some quarters, UMNO Youth in particular, if you pay attention to youtube, will certainly make international investors think twice for a good reason before settling or doing business in Malaysia..
I, for one, think we have much to learn from Australia and other nations. The pompous attitude of some Malaysians that we are different and we do things our own way will never make us improve.

  6. Dear Dr.M,
Please, you are comparing the practices of Australia’s PAST. That’s what it is, the past. It is no longer relevant now. Whereas the affirmative discrimination in Malaysia has been happening in the past and is still happening today.
And to Hajar, who says she feels safe walking anywhere in Malaysia, alone, at anytime of day – are you honestly telling us the truth? As a female?
And by the way the response of most of you people by telling Australian MPs to “Shut Up”.. honestly is just immature and inadequate. When people express an opinion different to yours, what do you do? Tell them to shut up? That is not the way adults behave, and is precisely the problem with our country – the village mentality. Grow up you molly-coddled people!

go and play with your grandkids……
    stop distubing our lives, tun….

  9. A note to Mr Raj.
    Dear Mr Raj,
In general, we Malaysians rarely interfere with the running of another sovereign nation. We believe that the government of an independent nation holds the right to run the country their way. It is for their people (the citizens) to decide and not some bullies i.e. America, Britain, Australia to decide what is good for the country, or what is bad.
However, since these self appointed police or sheriff’s could not keep their mouth shut and focus on their own internal issues, it just provokes us to look into the country’s system and see for our selves, is it that perfect? and to our surprise (or not) it is not that perfect or good either.
So in this case, if Australia may interfere with our (Malaysia) matter i.e. by saying our judiciary system is under watch (by who? Australia? What gives them the right to judge?) Then please don’t be mad when your beloved country’s (I assume here it’s Australia) wrongs is exposed by others.
Aite then till another time, cheers for a good day there mate!
    Kind regards,
    f. rosley

  10. Morning Rayho,
Sincere telling………..I also agree with Mag58.Don’t instigate racial disharmony.Very bad for the country.Dangerous ma!!!

  11. Ray Ho,Cheng Ho or whatever,
No more stuck-up now.GOOD!!GOD forgiven unto thou.Brace the LORD!!!!

  12. Ray Ho or Cheng Ho or whatever,
Remember Uncle solemn advises.Don’t get so tight up .Breath deeply and spit. Why are you not sombre in thinking about what one fate are.Don’t perpetrated social disharmony because that ignited fire amongst you youngsters that are always on the extreme. Unless you are Bruce Lee than you can be invincible and chase the Dragon but yet he also passed off eventually. So stay cool, don’t let your family cried because of your demise due to an heart attack.Listen to your SeeFou(That’s me).Wan’t to live longer or not??????????????

  13. “Precisely – the Australians should not be condemning Malaysian practices before looking at Australia itself.”
    Hahaha, that was funny Tun.
Mr. Raj and the MPs are certainly desperate, sir. So desperate that they can’t think straight nor make simple decisions.

  14. Dear Friends,
Please note that the Indians are not attacked by White Australian, instead you will be surprised and how wrong for those who blamed their defective genes, these gangs are mainly descendants of middle eastern muslim Lebanese thugs, the similar gang who misbehaved and was beaten up at Cronulla beach in 2005, they are quite fair and speak with a heavy Australian slang, I have also mistaken them initially as the real Whites while I was there in the area around the Russell Street. Like we could not differentiate the Whites by their look alone, anyone from Asia, included Lebanese gangs are called as Asian or Asian gang respectively.
Please get your facts right or be blind !
    Thanks

  15. Rayho or Cheng Ho,……whatever,
Check your fact and figure first before you fall into tantrum. That is not good for your health and maybe it’s very detrimental if you continously have such kind of behavorial disorder.Do you know that the Government enriched our orang asli(OA) more than the bumiputra.Go get the OA bank account, see their balance in the bank.Wow!wow!wee!Everybody is enriched by the Government in millions.Government don’t take their land like Lanun of Australia.I am a Bumiputra; have Phd in Environmental study and after surpassing my pension age,I only managed to owned a decent semi-D house and a meagre pension of RM2000/month.Oh,one more thing,I drove an old mercedes Benz circa 1987 model, now fetching about RM5k.Contrary,go see our OA friend that lived lavishly at the brim of Wilayah Persekutuan,in Gombak.Car is nothing less than a savvy Honda Civic.Handset goes nothing less than a black blueberry.I carried along a handset that is not even worth RM100.00,China made.
So,hold your horse coz nowaday lots of youngster got heart attack prematurely and I do not want you to be in the statistic.Take a deep breath and strongly spit it in the lonkang.Maybe your hatred will swiftly go away with the mucus you spitted.Mann mann ma!!!

  16. Salam Tun.
    To Mr Raj,
You have just arrived in Australia without any knowledge of their horrids pasts.
Ships load of hardcore convicts were exiled there to rid Great Britain of the ills.
Modern Aussies still carry these defected gene today, thus depicting their forefathers.
40 years ago,the aborigines were known as part of the ‘flora and fauna’ of Australia. Not a human being.Read here http://mailstrom.blogspot.com/2007/06/australian-aborigines-again.html

  18. Salam Tun.
Here’s something for Mr Raj…. wow, nice Aussie,eh?
Malaysian Consulate driver murdered in Sydney
    2010/02/22
MELBOURNE: A Malaysian Consulate driver was stabbed and bashed with a hammer in Sydney on Sunday night.
Road rage is a possible motive for the murder of the 43-year-old man who had become an Australian citizen and had lived in Sydney for about three years.
As he arrived at his home in Marion Street in Sydney’s inner western suburb of Leichhardt just after midnight, witnesses saw two men chase the victim across the road.
“We do believe that there may have been a traffic accident…shortly before the attack occurred,” acting Superintendent Shayne Woolbank was quoted by The Daily Telegraph as telling reporters at the scene Monday morning.
Asked if road rage was a motive for the attack, Supt Woolbank said: “It is one of the possibilities”.
The attackers were last seen fleeing the scene in a black sedan. Emergency crews were called to help the man, a Malay, who died despite the efforts of police officers who performed CPR.
“At this stage, we believe he has sustained some stab wounds and also some bruises and contusions,” Supt Woolbank said.
Police confirmed that a hammer may have been used in the attack.
“It was a very ferocious attack, there is no doubt about that,” Supt Woolbank said.
Dr Mohd Nasir Abu Hassan, director of the Malaysian Students Department in Australia, described the man as a “very dear colleague” who was unlikely to get involved in fights.
The victim’s name has yet to be released. — BERNAMA

  19. YABhg Tun,
Mr.Raj,sir,… not even a thank you..???? A fine Western eduated man you turn out to be..!!! Minus…your Asian values…of course!!

  20. Salam Tun,
Sekarang usia saya 45 thn.
Apakah hati mereka buta ataupun sifat ego mereka?

  21. The phenomenon of bashing and killing migrants in Australia has a long and consistent history. It was not only the mass killings of aboriginies but the masacres of the Chinese in the gold fields, the bashing and abuse of Italians, Maltese, Turks, Viet Namese and other new arrivals like Arabs has been marked and treated as a “right of passage” by politicians in Australia who make light of it.
Strangely the attacks on Indians (and we are grateful to you for standing up on this issue unlike many settled Indians who act as baggage boys of the White Australian)has this time found resistance from the Indian community to a large extent and internationalised.
Australia’s attitude towards Indians (uppity darkies) goes back to Indian independence when many of the Brits not wanting to go back to a bombed out Britain and its poverty entered Australia from the ex colony to settle in its relative comforts and wealth and prosperity. Julia Gillard’s father and mother were Welsh pesants of this class.
They took Australia for themselves till they found it difficult to expand industry due to the very small population of the country. They imported European labour and created ghettos. The European disease of not wanting to work without a princely dowry and half a dozen tea breaks soon set in.
Kevin Rudd is seen by many White Austrlains as an apologist for the Chinese government (mainland China). He like many other Australians including Julia Gillard the deputy prime minister are happy to continue with the Chinese view of South Asian politics and are happy to keep India uot of the region. Even if that means breaching international law.
Indians have a right to this country as Indians in hundreds if not thousands died in places like New Guinea defending Australia against the Japanese. They lie buried in places like Kokopo, Rabaul, Lae and Wewak New Guinea. Our rights to enter this country are therefore inscribed in the blood of our ancestors and we will in one form or the other exercise that right.
Australia’s parliamentarians who signed that petition to stop the Anwar trial demonstrate a level of arrogance based on their ignorance of international law. All they have to suport them are the likes of Raj. People who fire from behind. People ready to blame the whole world for their self inflicted wounds.
Australia’s hatred of Indians and other minorities are legend. They accused and tried Dr. Muhamad Haneef for terrorism when the attorney general and head of the federal police all the time knew he was innocent.
Julian Moti the Indian Fijian born lawyer turned attorney general of Solomons Islands under a government there unfriendly to Australia was charged with raping an underaged girl in Vanauatu.
It was later discovered the Australian federal police and the Australian foreign office paid the girl and her mother to make the allegation against Julian Moti (he is Indian). They set him up because he would not cooperate with them. The same they now do with Anwar’s accolytes in Malaysia who spread rumours about anyone who does not support Anwar.
There is a huge list of such state sponsored fixes which includes the bombing of the Hilton Hotel in Sydney in 1979 during the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) meeting which ASIO and the Federal Police were implicated in. But it was not so till they falsely convicted five memebrs of the Ananda Marga sect. A subsequent inquiry discovered the truth.
Australia will turn against the Raj’s of this world sooner rather than later if its racism is not checked.
The average Australian does not see Indians or Chinese as Mahathir or Anwar supporters. They simply see us as lesser people because we are not white. Even the most liberal amongst them have this mentality but not the courage to openly say so.
The Raj’s of this world are best let off to face the music when their time comes. Lets then see what a difference his crying “I don’t like Mahathir” makes to his assailant.
    Gopal Raj Kumar

  22. Dear Tun,
Please show some understanding and forgive the Australians, including Mr Raj for defending them. You and I know for historical facts that the present white Australians are the descendents of British convicts and prison guards. Naturally they have instints of bullying and abusing others. Their sense of fairness and justice is more biased towards their own type, that is, the criminal type.
I am not being sarcastic, just being realistic.
    amin tan

  23. DEAR TUN,
HOW COME YOU’RE INTO PETTY ISSUES? MALAYSIANS ARE NOT SO SUCCESSFUL AS YOU AND YOUR ENTERPRISING SONS. CONGRATS TO YOUR SON IN BECOMING ONE OF THE RICHEST MAN IN MALAYSIA. I HOPE OTHER MALAYSIANS CAN FOLLOW HIS FOOTSTEP IN BECOMING SUCCESFULL WITH TUN’S FORMULA FOR SUCCESS. PLEASE SHARE YOUR FORMULA AND STRATEGIES. WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT. LET’S TALK BUSINESS. WHY WORRY ABOUT AUSTRALIANS? THEY ARE ALREADY DEVELOPED AND NO POINT POINTING FINGERS ON THEM. MALAYSIANS SHOULD PROVE THEMSELF AGAINST OTHERS AND I THINK TUN COULD SHARE THE FORMULA AND KNOWLEDGE WITH US.

  24. Dear Tun.

  25. Dear Tun,
Racism rears its ugly head, one so often in the West, but the government would consider it as an isolated case.If thing like that happen in Malaysia they would blame the government involvement. The 50 or so Australian MPs have no business poking their noses into our affairs.
But the one to be blamed for all the bad publicity this nation gets is none other than Anwar Ibrahim and his oppositions coalition.

  26. Salam Tun,
    Nak tanya pandangan Tun…
Simpanan air kita semakin berkurangan dek musim kemarau…
Adakah kita patut jual air kat negara jiran lagi……takkan kita nak berhaus di negara sendiri dan negara jiran boleh guna air sesuka hati….

  27. salam Tun,

  28. Assalamu Alaikum Tun,
Eventhough you seemed like have agreed to Mr Raj’s accusation that discrimination are taking place in Malaysia but my point of view is different from yours. For me, by giving more opportumities and space to bumiputeras in this country to develop themselve by providing various special assistance does,t mean that we are practising discrimination against other Malaysian races. We are only helping the lagged and neglected bumipueras to success. Facts has shown that more then 70 per cent of this country’s economy is in the hands of non bumi. So is it wrong to help the most needy Malaysian to progress? And at the same time other races’s right is preserved. I think nothing is wrong there. Justice said give the right to the deserved.

  29. however i need to comment on this thing even though out of topic,
the school system here should be integrated into one national school but classes for mandarin, other chinese languages, indian languages, arabic, english, french and spanish can be introduced for those who want to learn (even though i am indian)
malaysia is one of the few countries of the world have very weird school system. it segregates races from the beginning of childhood.
Perikatan /BN made mistakes by having separate schools and wont be able to change. Just scrap these schools and put up 1 single school system.
I always wonder why chinese especially those go to mandarin school and some even in secondary school talk malay and even english like typical Chinaman, i guess only 20 to 30% chinese youngsters even today speak good malay and english.
these are mistakes done by the chinese here, we dont need to talk english like sporeans. Hey, even Lee Kuan Yew and Lee Hsien Long speak better malay than the malays themselves, i have seen them talk…
in overseas, we do work with people with good english, most chinese with bad english or distorted slang not accepted, as we cant understand what they talk during meetings.
we should respect the malay language as its the national language, i speak even better than some of the malays and always outscore them in exams and in lisan.
i even learned some arabic for communication for our project in the middle east ….

  30. mahathir,
global indians as well as india indians are rising upbetter than the chinese and the rest.
only in malaysia, with samy vellu, BN and MIC have made the indians live like fools and remain uneducated or brainwashed.
the middleclass indians who the majority dont like MIC have actually risen up academically and in profession by their own effort and their parents.
That is why most of them hates the BN as it has done nothing for the Indian community here.

  31. instead of talking abt other, why dont you talk about the dicrimination here.
i dont want to talk about indians here. mahathir, you have failed the malays. let them walk with stick all time. tak boleh berdikari. melayu sudah menjadi cacat sebab mahathir jahil.

  32. Asmkm YBhg Tun, salam manis selalu utk Tun sekeluarga
Looks like they are here again (some outLanders from Australia) for confrontation. Always trying their best to victimize the weak, like our small country Malaysia. I see them as a group of glorious Politicians who are looking for media opportunity. They are not entirely sincere to support Anwar but rather more interested to gain personal political mileage in their own country. We want to ignore them, but we also want to tell them,

  33. Dear Sir,
I have been your supporter for many years, in the sense that you have respect for the other minorities in Malaysia, especially the chinese. And that you are not too extremist in your views. However, and I say this is a very respectful manner, I still do not agree that Malaysia government at this day and age can still practise discrimination against their own citizens, with the Malays getting more rights than the other races in the country. Malaysia is comprised of different races and culture, and should offer equal opportunities for all.
In the current state, the NEP which is a racially discriminative policy is forcing the chinese and indians give up their opportunities. Many professions, such as building engineers, architects that belong to the chinese and indian are not allowed to do big projects, especially those tendered by the government. Many professionals that I know have closed their business to migrate to other countries to restart their business – other countries with more equal opportunities. Businessmen are required to give a certain % of their company to a malay director before he can participate in major business deals. This is the main reason why the Barisan party lost so many states in the last election. I have had countless businessmen and investors telling me the hopelessness of their situation, and the anger they feel inside about the discrimination. The other races feel discriminated, like 2nd class citizens. Besides that, even the middle and lower class Malays are unhappy because the NEP mainly keeps the pie at the ‘higher social class Malays’ with ‘connections’. Major business deals are given to politician’s relatives and friends.
This is the reason why Malaysia is still a 3rd world country, while Singapore has become a 1st world country many years ago. In Singapore, they stress the importance of self improvement and education and hard work. Yes they are very ‘kiasu’ as you call them, but the motivation to trive, to win, to excel, that is what makes countries like Korea, Singapore, Japan trive. The South Koreans, probably 20 years ago they were very different from their achievements now, but South Koreans are some of the hardest working asians I have met, and their culture and mindset is very disciplined. All of them want to excel. Malaysia to achieve the same by 2020 will require a change of mindset and discipline towards work and progress both at the individual and cultural level.
At least in other countries like Australia, unfair discrimination is a thing of the past. But in Malaysia, it is getting stronger by the day at this day and age, which many find unpleasant. Malaysia should move on to become a fair country with equal opportunities.
I can understand why many of my Malaysian friends have begun to start their business in other countries. As I heard from some friends in Malaysia, even in primary schools Malay students are given special bonus marks on their exam result, especially those at the borderline of failing, a priviledge that the other races do not get. Doing that has major social and psychological impact on the Malay’s young generation mind. They start to think they do not need to work hard to excel, and that the government will always be looking out for them.
I believe, Dr Mahathir, that the solution to all this lies in a psychological change among the Malay people. (Yes I have read your book before). Perhaps, the government needs more programs and constant reminder that individual hard work, self improvement, progressiveness, excellence is cherished by the country, and that image has to be impressed upon them as a ‘Malaysian way of life and identity’. We have heard the campaign that “Malaysia Boleh”, but all that is more at a national and government level, something the individual cannot relate to. I think the mindset and identity has to be instilled at the educational and coperation level.

  34. Dear Tun, just to share with this article I picked-up from The Malaysian Insider, just to prove how dangerous it could have been if we had bowed to the IMF during the last financial meltdown.

    IMF restores Zimbabwe voting rights

  35. dear mr.raj of sydney,
look around you. i mean malaysia, not the place you reside in but the country you domiciled to – malaysia.
can you elaborate futher on what you have said earlier?
who make up the most doctors and lawyers in malaysia? the indians.
who is the second richest man in malaysia? the indian.
use your brain before u started speaking.

  36. “White Australia Policy”, Ketuanan Melayu, kesemuanya serangkai.

  37. Excatly that !!
To all who will and gonna give comment here….remember…one finger point to other, 4 fingers are pointing back at you.

  38. I call BS.
I’m sorry are we even in the same era here?
What has the history of one’s country got to do with anything at the present?
We are talking about treatment of Indians. And treatment of Indians NOW. Malaysia is practicing discrimination NOW, Australia, on the other hand grew so much faster and has abolished discriminatory practices.
This is a worthless excuse and you are in denial.
-Malaysia used to best South Korea in football. But now they came 3rd in the world cup and we are no where near even qualified. But since we were better BEFORE, are we saying there is nothing to learn from South Korea and in turn THEY should learn from US??
Look, I was born in 1984. And as young as I am even I know your arguments do not in any way hold water.
By the way, just so you aren’t too ignorant about the indian bashing in Australia, the general perception here is that it has somehow blown out of proportion. That’s like saying there is racial hate against the chinese when a Chinese person gets bashed up…IN CHINATOWN!
To spell it out for you, in a place like Chinatown, if anyone was going to be bashed up, the likelihood that its a chinese person is significantly higher, just because of the concentration of population. Same thing in that area in Melbourne.
I notice that if you have no decent arguments to put forth your articles will be limited to only a few paragraphs.

  39. Lah! Raj ni rupa-rupanya orang Malaysia…. Saya ingatkan rakyat Australia hahahahaha! So pathetic!

  40. Salam Yg Berbahagia Tun,
Is’nt the call by the 50 Australian Lawmakers headed by this man called Dandy to drop all charges against Anwar interfering in the judiciary? They should just mind their own business and if they think that gay and lesbian relations are nothing wrong than that’s fine but please restrict your business within your own shores.

  41. Beat that Mr Raj of Sydney. You’re not even an Australian. Please stop trying too hard. You just gonna make fool of yourself. And you could even ignore your fellow indian cry of racist attacks on them. Shame on you.

  42. congratulation tun. we malaysian should do more of your type of cynical write up on those who talks so much about our country’s judicial system and those ungrateful people. we dont see such ungrateful people creating problems in england for example apart from australia or any other part of the world where there are lots of multi ethnics in those part of the world. we want more of such write up. thank you tun. we want more and we want more such write up to show the ungrateful people around the world about being grateful when there are in foreign land or in their own country. i say yes to more of this kind of write up that should be a marvelous example to other bloggers to take heed.

  43. Salam Sejahtera Tun.
Raj tu memang bodoh,Asal boleh hembus saja.
    Tak respect Tun Langsung.
Hentam lagi lah Tun best lah.
    Tun you simply the best.

I dont worry at all since Tun is around.
    Take care Tun

  44. Dear Tun,
If you can respond to Indian Australian comment, why can’t you respond to the real story behind MV Augusta? This concerns Malaysia and Malaysian money you had spent during your reign. Please tell the world either I was talking nonsense and Robb Report is correct, or you forced Proton to buy a worthless company for RM 500 million funded by the hard earned money of the Malaysian public.
Isn’t it obvious how you chose your opponents. Opponents who have the facts, you will say ‘siapa dia wenger khairy’. Stupid people who do not know better than to avoid race topics at all cost, you will make into a post like hanan and now this raj character.

  45. Mr.Raj,
I am pretty sure you will get your permanent resident status from Kevin Rudd earlier than expected.
P/s :To the ketua Pengarah,Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia, please make sure you delete his name from our list of citizenship holder because no one individual can hold dual Citizenship at one time. This will ensure that he will not have anywhere to go once he started to be virulently venomous like a double-headed snake. When he does a criminal offences and be deported by the Australian government, then he will know the sky is high or not.We will placed him in a land called Timbaktu.

  46. Salam TUN
    Gi’day 1 Malaysia,
In Malaysia even the King must get the consent from the orang Asli who is living on the land that we need to developed. I personally have gone through hell in getting the approval from an org asli who lives one of the area in Selangor. The King of Selangor did had a big laugh when i failed to make that org asli to move from his … See morehouse, even our government has no power to take over their land. So Mr Raj can keep his pathetic Wisdom to the Australian government.
But personally I wish we can have 300 million more Mr Raj whose Malaysian and always defend thy country.I ‘m presuming that Mr Raj is an Aussie himself if not why should say that. He is only trying to defend his country Image by feeling UNPALATABLE. While the Aussie are enjoying their INDIAN BASHING moment it is very worrying that Mr Raj doesn’t feel the pinch maybe because the Indian country is producing millions and millions of Indian that they do not know what to do with them except let them be bash by the Aussie.

  47. Dear Tun,
Permit me to comment on Raj (Sydney) comment. Apart from showing how shallow his knowledge on Australia’s history, perhaps he should be reminded that Australia is far from Perfect; especially since it has and continues to carry the brand named of a ‘Developed Country’, whereas Malaysia is a Developing Country, and it has never claimed to be a developed country, so she is still evolving. So don’t compare Apples and Oranges, it is insulting to all our intelligence.
As Australia is a developed country, perhaps our commentator has forgotten the case of the Indian Doctor from Goldcoast Dr Haneef who was detained without trial on the suspicion of terrorism, based on half baked decrypting of intel from the UK and his involvement in the July attacks in the UK. This is just one example of an unjustified prosecution, recently.
While the commentator is true to an extent to say that the violence against the Indians is because they take odd jobs that extent to wee hours of the morning, but the dear commentator has also conveniently forgotten that the violence suffered by these immigrants were quite severe/violent, which reflect some sort of crime of ‘ passion’/ ‘hate’. Face it, it is a rampant increase in Hate Crime targeted at a segmented part of migrants, and the commentator ought to use his own thought rather than the soundbites release from the Press.. The commetator has also neglected to mention the amount of press coverage this issue has been receiving in India, where there has been massive protest over this issue; surely the largest Democracy in the world has some semblance of intelligence; before it protests against unfair treatment.
These VIOLENCE not new in Australia, every time there are a new wave of migrants, they will usually be the targets, just like the Vietnamese from the 80’s.
While there is a clear two party system in Australia, he has also neglected to mentioned that corruption also exist in this developed nation; On a different note perhaps he should continue to research on the The Fitzgerald Inquiry, and the several cases of death while in police custody that also exist in this developed Nation.
Dear Tun your suspicions are entirely justified on country meddling; lets look at the facts in East Timor and PNG and the failed attempt in Fiji.
But on the other hand, can you blame the AU MP’s comments; this is the result of the the Press that have been going on the said case. Our country has been receiving press for all the wrong reasons; even if we take it with a pinch of salt, it is still pretty disheartening for fellow Malaysians living abroad.
But nonetheless as the saying goes ; “Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, lebih baik di negeri sendiri.”
    Salam Tun; Warm regards
    TV Raj (Melbourne)

  48. Salam Tun,
I don’t think we should bother ourselves with what australians think of us. We are an independent nation and if they can’t respect that, they need to start educating themselves on respecting other country’s democracy.
Malaysians need your inputs on other more important issues. This is not one of those issues worthy of your time.
    Take Care

  49. Dear Tun,
    1. I believe you have forgotten the episodes of the seizing of land from indigenous and tribal peoples of both West and East Malaysia for the purposes of logging, palm oil and other things which do not benefit them.
    2. Most notable of this is with regards to the treatment of Penans in order to build your Bakun Dam. There is much literature on this.

    3. This includes the rape of Penan women by logging company workers.

  50. Tun
I cant understand why the govt placed all its stake on the case involving a young boy’s “a***” .
Thanks for speaking for Australian Indians, i am sure Mr Singh will applaud u too for this.
Can see how much u still hate Anwar, a fellow Malay and Muslim. And u are helping to instill this hate among your followers too.
    Good job Tun.

  51. Salam Tun,
There is nothing more to learn about humanity, liberty, or freedom from the west. They are the follower of Israel. They want the third country to be the followers, always unstable and always under their finger. Look what happen in Iraq: they blames Saddam. The condition is worst than during Saddam time(killings is everywhere, buildings destroyed, house was ransacked for no reason. Where is the freedom? They were talking about the crimes that Saddam did. What about the killing of the innocents women and children by the American army? They never blame Bush. Instead they blame the soldiers. Why don’t you punish Bush? Open your eyes Australian. You are just the follower of Israel too.
You are the greatest IMAM Tun

  52. “Malaysian discrimination had never involved genocide and seizing the land of the indigenous.”
Precisely! That’s what the London Public Office’s declassified documents also confirmed about May 13. In any case, Malaysian discrimination is positive in nature, quite unlike the Australian variety which is definitely negative.

  53. Who is the ambassador to Australia? Call him back for he is not doing his job. Najib is the new ambassador-cum-PM! He can explain better to Mr Raj and the 50MPs.
Is Michael Banby handsome or young enough for the man? Behold supporters watchout your rear ends!
Mr Ambassador (to US) usah cari kerja basi. Mereka yang nak balik Malaysia dah lama balik. Ada orang memamg suka duduk luar negeri atas sebab2 tertentu – cari rezeki, beranak-pinak dsb. Let there diaspora and gene dispersion for Allah has His ways.

  55. Orait Tun.. Dia sepatutnya suruh kerajaan Australia jgn masuk campur urusan negara orang lain. Buta perut jugak Mr. Raj of Sydney ni.
Hmm.. Australia pun dah jadi mcm Malaysia, berbilang bangsa.
Mr. Raj, it is your government that always condemning my country practices. Remember that, and mind your bloody business! Tell that to your politicians!

  56. “That doesn’t mean you can lash out at someone before looking at your own country.” Precisely – the Australians should not be condemning Malaysian practices before looking at Australia itself.”
Precisely! Bak pepatah Melayu, “Kuman di seberang laut nampak, gajah di depan mata tak nampak.”

  57. Mr Raj, jangan sibuk jaga tepi kain orang. Hal aku yang kau sibuk nak komen dulu tapi bila bapa pemodenan aku
