Saya dan isteri saya ingin menjemput ke rumah terbuka kami sempena Hari Raya Aidilfitri esok, Sabtu Ogos 25, 2012, di kediaman kami di Lot 58, Jalan Kuda Emas, The Mines Resort, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selangor di antara jam 10 pagi hingga 1.00 tgh dan di antara jam 3.00 petang hingga 5.00 petang.

Kepincangan dalam industri mencetak buku teks Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka terus bergolak. Masalah dulu nampaknya berulang lagi. Kononnya pengswastaan mencetak buku teks menguntungkan kerajaan dan lebih cekap. Tetapi dalam kes pengswastaan ini menampakkan banyak keburukan daripada kebaikan.
1. Pemberian konsesi kepada DAWAMA SDN BHD telah menindas pengusaha2 pencetak Melayu dengan tidak ada jaminan bayaran upah cetak. Pemilik DAWAMA telah mempunyai rekod “bad pay master”
2. Walau pun Persatuan Pengusaha Pencetak Melayu Malaysia yang mempunyai 80 ahli dan persatuan pengedar2 membantah konsesi ini, Jabatan Perdana Menteri bahagian pengswastaan terus mempertahankan orang tengah DAWAMA SDN BHD. Sejarah hitam berulang lagi iaitu pisang berbuah dua kali. Upah cetak buku teks akan lambat dibayar atau tidak dibayar sama sekali. Pencetak2 Melayu hanya putih mata dan tidak mendapat pembelaan dari pihak kerajaan.
3. Pihak Persatuan Pencetak Melayu dan persatuan pengedar buku teks DBP merayu kepada Tun Dr Mahathir supaya campur tangan demi kebenaran dan keadilan kepada semua pihak.

1. Saya berTerima Kasih atas jemputan Tun, namun saya tidak dapat hadir kerana urusan perubatan.
2. Juga, saya kira ramai yang akan hadir, dan kerana saya tidak mengemari kesesakan atau kesibukan, saya memilih mengucapkan Salam Aidil Fitri di blog ini sahaja.
3. Namun, saya amat gembira atas jemputan serta cerita2 Tun yang boleh saya dapat ikuti melalui blog ini, yang membawa erti kepada dunia Teknoloji Maklumat atau IT secara sangat berkesan.

Yesterday, I paid a visit to your Hari Raya Aidil Fitri open-house function. And that was my visit for three straight, continuous occasions to your Aidil Fitri open-house function. For the past several years, it has neither been my habit nor nature to pay any visit at open-house functions, especially those hosted by politicians or dignitaries. However, for the past two and present Hari Raya Aidil Fitri occasion, I have only made open-house visit to your residence (and to none other), out of respect to you as well as to the gracious Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah.
Arriving before 11:00 a.m. at the car-park area adjacent to The Mines Complex, our visiting party comprising of a family member, close colleague and myself parked our vehicle at the said car-park area and we proceeded hiking-up to your residence about a kilometer away. We dare not drive our vehicle to your residence fearing that we would surely be turned away by the security personnel at the guard-house for we were not VIPs, nor anyone of stature, or any known celebrities and none of us are members of your family. Neither did want to take the shuttle-vans provided nearby the guard-house specifically provided for visitors to your open-house function, because the queue of visitors at the shuttle-van station was already long enough. Anyway, our hike was rather tiresome but not unpleasant because we could enjoy some scenic view of The Mines Golf-Course Resort while hiking en-route to your residence.
Upon approaching your residence compound, we noticed that a queue of visitors for almost 100 meters long had ensued. We did not wish to join the long queue because the line was moving literally at snails’ pace. So we opted to proceed straight to the ‘juadah raya goodies’ area, instead of joining those in the queue who were eagerly and patiently waiting to bersalam with you, who as hosts were greeting the long line of visitors. I reckon the long queue moving at snails’ pace was by virtue that they we were not contented to merely bersalaman raya with you and your spouse, but they also wanted to pose and take photo snapshots with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, where we noticed that you and her had graciously obliged. Understandably, their wish to have photo mementos with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah would probably be due to their respect and admiration. Perhaps, we were not as patient as they were to join the long queue where some of them had adamantly endured queuing in the blazing late morning sun.
Anyway, after grabbing some of the ‘juadah raya goodies’ we seated ourselves and proceeded to enjoy the delicacies. We noticed that your son Datuk Mukriz was busy playing host to the occasion. However, your daughter Datuk Paduka Marina was not to be seen playing host this year. Unlike last year, this year’s throng of visitors to your open-house function was more orderly dealt with where more tents, table & seats were provided, leftover food and plates were promptly cleared away by the caterers. We also noted that this year, a great number of Arab or Middle-Eastern looking folks have thronged your open-house function unlike previous years. Our table was literally surrounded with those folks that for a moment I thought that we were in an Arab country or some kind. We reckon their huge presence at your Hari Raya open-house function is due to their gratitude for your involvement in the Middle-East issues such as the Free Gaza Campaign as well as the Palestinians’ plight.
Anyway, after enjoying the delicacies we waited for the opportunity to Bersalaman Hari Raya with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. But that was not be. By noon, the long line of visitors queuing to bersalam-salam (and taking photos) with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah was unrelenting and still not letting-up. By 1:00 p.m., Dato’ Seri Najib arrived and you had to vacate your visitors reception seat to greet and play host to The Prime Minister at the VVIP table. Before 2:00 pm, Dato’ Seri Najib left the function while you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah retired into your residence. We could not wait till 3:00 p.m. for you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah to resume bersalam and greeting visitors. So we left soon after without this time around having the pleasure to personally meet and Bersalam Hari Raya with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah.
During your last year’s Hari Raya open-house function, I personally had an unpleasant moment of having a spat with one of your usher/security personnel who himself had a very hard time in controlling the visiting crowd who were shoving and scrambling to Bersalam Hari Raya (and talking snapshots) with you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. Regardless of the said spat, I still managed to personally bersalam and wish Selamat Hari Raya to you and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. However this year, since unable to have the opportunity to meet and Bersalam Hari Raya with you, I can only therefore wish you and your whole family Selamat Hari Aidil Fitri serta Maaf Zahir Batin, through this blog-site.
In the past three Hari Raya Aidil Fitri open-house function you had hosted that we paid visit and observed, I can only say that despite no longer being the Prime Minister, you are still very much popular and relevant, admired and respected by a great deal of Malaysians as well as many foreigners.
We pray and hope may Allah SWT grant you good health and a much longer life, so you can inspire us further and continue the good work for the benefit of all.

Ramai pelawat diblog ini (termasuk yang bukan berugama Islam) mempunyai hajat besar untuk berjabat tangan terus dan mengucap Selamat Hari Raya kepada Tun, tapi tak boleh melakukannya hari ini. Harap Tun boleh meluangkan satu masa yang lain untuk tujuan itu.
