2. The world is certainly going through terrible times. Greece is bankrupt and Spain, Portugal and Italy are doing badly in their finances. Britain is also going through a depressed economy with scandals plaguing their most respected banks.
3. Everywhere in Europe there are demonstrations by unemployed people. A lot of blame is directed at the capitalist system and the income gap between rich and poor. The latest trend is to “occupy” the main centers of capitalistic activities such as Wall Street in New York and HSBC bank in Hong Kong. This also happened in Australia.
5. It is obvious that Europe and America are not going to be able to restore their financial and economic health any time soon.
6. The rest of the world is affected in one way or another by the collapse of the economies of Europe and America. Even China is feeling the effect. Europe and America are big markets for the products of the world.
7. Electricity supply was also cut in many parts of America, Europe and Asia leaving millions in darkness and stopping work in industrial plants.
8. In the Arab countries the people have risen against the Government. There is civil war in Syria. The Rohingyas in Myanmar are being attacked and killed. The people in Iraq and Afghanistan are being killed by suicide bombers. In America a gunman sprayed bullets on a cinema audience killing 9 people and many others. In Norway a gunman went on a shooting spree in a youth camp killing 70 people.
9. Then there are the natural disasters. Floods swept through parts of Kyushu Islands in Japan recently leaving more than a score of people dead. Not long ago a tsunami and a massive earthquake hit Fukushima in northern Japan. This was followed by damage to a nuclear power plant exposing a great part of the area to radiation. Then there followed a severe flood.
10. Elsewhere in the world volcanic eruptions, earthquakes devastated towns and cities. Floods hit New York City and Bangkok and many parts of China again destroying buildings and cutting off water and electricity supplies. Whirlwinds hit the US repeatedly. In Africa people are starving to death.
11. Winter came early, was very severe and lasted longer, disrupting work and killing old people. And heat waves raised temperatures to above 40ºC, again killing the old and the weak. Global warming has resulted in the ice in the Arctic and Antarctic melting, threatening to raise sea levels and inundate low lying land. Some island nations may disappear into the sea.
12. In the face of all these disasters Malaysians can consider themselves fortunate. We do have mild floods, slightly raised temperatures and haze, but they are nothing compared to the disasters affecting so many parts of the world.
13. Crime rate has increased somewhat.
14. Even financially and economically we are not too badly off. The cost of living has gone up a little but people are not starving the way the Africans and some Asians are starving. A generous Government is ever ready to extend help.
15. Business is good even though we think it can be better. Our exports are high and still growing. Unemployment rate is low. Economic growth is still possible. At 4 – 5% it may not be as good as in Indonesia and the Philippines but it is far better than Europe or America or the countries of West Asia and North Africa.
16. Admittedly the cost of living has gone up. For the poor this is a burden. Of course on this issue, comparing ourself with most of the rest of the world where inflation is even higher will not be acceptable. But the fact is that in many countries not only is the inflation higher but there are food shortages also. In addition they have to accept reduced income amidst widespread unemployment we are living in troubled times. Like it or not we will feel the effects and we have to endure.
17. There will be people who would like us to ignore the fact that we are much better off than most people in the world. They would like to exploit every little misfortune that we may experience. They would even promise that they can bring about sudden prosperity, give free education, and all kinds of goodies. But observe the contradictions.
18. They promise the oil-producing states to increase the royalty from 5% to 20%. Obviously this will result in the Federal Government losing 15% of revenue from oil; and that is a big sum. The states gets their royalty based on gross income.
19. They will do away with road tolls, increase subsidies on fuel and reduce rates and taxes.
20. Their proposals will reduce Government revenue and at the same time increase Government expenditure. This is exactly what the Greek Government did, and the whole country went bankrupt.
21. Promises are deep. Barrack Obama promise “change”. Four years into his term, not a single change has been made.
22. To be in power for 56 years is a long time. But look at the progress. No other developing country has made such progress.
23. Change is not always for the better. Change can make things worse.
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
Beware of politicians who make promises.

It was alleged that in the separation of MSA Airlines in 1972, the software were given to Singapore ex-gratis. There was a hoo-hah at the very top.

On Ahmad Badri’s comments No. 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, let us put all this corruption malfeasance into a proper perspective as regards the colonial period, the post-war colonial period, the early Merdeka years, the NEP period and a much misunderstood subject, Singapore.
You are great Ahmad Badri but what you mentioned were already with us a very long time ago – let us be fair to the BN Government. But only thanks to the successive BN Governments and the successful policies, we see the sums involved shot sky high in the 21st century into billions of ringgits.
In other words, please excuse me, as long as there is Man and there is Woman, we have this corruption nonsense. Money is the apple.
1. The Colonial Period of the Japanese Occupation – 1942-1945.
Most of the tricks of the corruption trade were learnt and experienced by the young folks who became very rich eventually, either through politics or business. I do not blame them as life and survival were on a string.
2. The Post-World War 2 Colonial Period. 1946-1957.
What happened in the towns especially Kuala Lumpur previously carried on. There were sanitary inspectors making enough money to send their children to the United Kingdom to study and enjoy themselves in gambling clubs and horse-races. Some were court interpreters who took advantage of their position. I came across a case whereby the Government official took five thousand Straits Dollars wrapped up in the venerable Straits Times before he would sign on the dotted line of a Probate. By the early 1950s, some District Officers in major towns were involved with town planning and the inside information benefitted their friends.
On the political side, the charity lottery blossomed for a while before it was taken over by the Government and turned into the Social Welfare Lottery which some officials quickly emigrated after a change of political bosses later.
3. The Post-Merdeka Period 1957-1970.
The leaders of a non-Malay political party made hay while the sun shone. Whatever the means or inclination, all became multi-billionaires today.
4. The NEP Period 1971-1992.
The leaders of the non-Malay political party continued to make more money. In one single instance, after only 6 years in public office, one of them could remit Singapore Dollars 100 Million from Singapore to Hong Kong. He told the public his parents were hewers of wood and drawers of water. There were many more instances.
5. The Post NEP Period right past the 21st century goal post.
The leaders of this particular party still in play but became more daring and stumbled.
I have always said non-Malay political parties must not be synonymous with money and that their role is like Caesar’s wife beyond reproach and work twice as hard as UMNO and contribute meaningfully at all times, not only before General Elections.
It is tough to be a professional non-Malay politician !
How to deal with this endemic problem which could be legal or illegal ?
It can only be contained and the top man must set an example especially in a small country or place where most things are common knowledge.
It is alleged that President Harry S Truman, my favourite American President, said ‘ The buck stops at my desk ! ‘ But there is another story about him.
One day, his aide went up to President Truman and reported with bated breath that as soon as the Americans sent the Marshall Aid to China in the late 1940s, the next moment the money would appear in Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek’s family’s bank account in New York. The aide asked, ‘ Mr President, what shall we do ?’ The President replied without hesitation, ‘ He is a bastard. But he is our bastard !’
And Singapore ? Many years ago, the major contractors were not permitted to entertain their public service clients in public places of entertainment. They switched their frolics to their own homes from where I could hear the tinkling of wine glasses with many ‘ yam sengs ‘ and the smell of barbecued meats wafted into my nostrils 18 storeys above them till the wee hours of the morning.
And my friend the architect from Kuala Lumpur was engaged by one major Government Agency. He complained why in Singapore, a retaining wall was twice the width of those he designed in Kuala Lumpur. Soon afterwards, his wife was threatened in a wet market and they returned to Kuala Lumpur promptly. I believe up to 1972, there were 4,000 registered gangsters. But there is none now.
iskandar shah 2 and Ahmad Badri fangs for the memories. And many thanks to [email protected] for the sentiments.
Vote BN always, especially for all the Malaysians and the Malaysian Chinese.
I hope real life stories will convince the latter !
Dear Tun,
It is interesting to read and observe the thinking of MiddleAges and Iskandar Shah 2, both of them are fiercely independent minded, free thinker, do not like to be indoctrinated or to ‘samiakna wa atokna’. To them, to see is to believe. To middleAges at least, the concept of religion, God, angels and the Hereafter are all human invention to hoodwink the gullible and the innocent. Please allow me to quote
“”Iskandar is obviously not a banker and highly delusioned by Islam, a result of severe indoctrination.
There are many bankers who would lend you money, even while you have existing debts, and they are not stupid.””
Dear MiddleAges,
What type of bankers would lend you money when you have trouble? Not only would they not lend you any more additional money, they would try to sell your collateral security to recover whatever money you owe them. Bankers are your friends only on sunny days. They are ruthless and heartless, especially to small lenders. If you are big lenders borrowing hundreds of millions, and when you get into trouble, then it becomes the bank’s problem. They have to help you to save themselves.
What Mr Iskander Shah 2 said is more realistic
“”1-First and foremost thanks for acknowledging me a Muslim. My own bro Amin Tan don’t seem to recognize me a Muslim anymore so your recognition is truly being appreciated. Its Ok even as a disillusioned one. Thanks again.
2-So there are bankers around so loving who,who even though he knows you are heavily indebted and are no longer able to generate income to service your existing debts is willing to lend you more.Bro I think you are truly a disillusional one here.Bankers are people who takes away the umbrella when it begins to rain!
3-The moment he sees you are having problem that is when he will begin to take steps to cut down on losses. That’s is why bankers have regular periodical reviews on their customers accounts. They will only give more to the performing ones even though they have not a need for it.””
Dear Brother Iskandar Shah 2,
Please forgive me on the issue of religion. I am not god. I may be wrong. Nothing is absolute. MiddleAges may be right. Wallahualam.

4-If the Eurozone nations can find bankers to help out there would be no need for the ECB to work out with IMF to come up with the rescue plans at all.IMF is now persuading all member nations to contribute so that she can help these nations.
5-There would be situation when really strong bankers would help out customers in trouble only when they are sure that the situation is secured and a turnaround is possible not in hopeless situations like what the Eurozone is in now.
6-Understandably they must answer to the Board of directors for their rescue decisions. Not in present Eurozone situation when the bankers themselves were only saved by bailouts.
//….I’m sorry, you’ve completely lost me there. How is it that Singapore’s handling the Euro crisis means we need to vote BN into office still ?

7-Actually I am not asking the Govt of Malaysia to attack Singapore or what but Malaysia have many bad experiences with Singapore before that proves that she is not a very dependable neighbor.
8-In the 1998 crisis when our currency was badly devalued her bankers tried to destroy the economy of Malaysia by offering exceptionally high interest rates to lure our money out.Their CLOB was also messing in the share market. It is only after Tun had introduced the currency controls that their CLOB had to backoff although they had completely snubbed the Govt of Malaysia before.
9-I am just thinking that a country that had already lost a hundred bilion in the crash of 2008 and is vulnerable to hundreds of billions more extended to the Western financial institutions would be very unlikely not to do anything for her future.
10-They are survival people and that is why we must be very careful.Desperate people would do desperate things. If Singapore can buy PKR she can buy Malaysia. Most Malaysian politicians are only in politics to make money. They have a price.I think Singapore can afford whatever price now.Of course maybe there is no such scheming but it is not good to be too trusting a neighbor with a past record.
11-We can see how the Jews can make America save Israel with billions when even she herself is already drowning. We know Singapore is very much a student of Israel. If Singapore own Malaysian direct or indirect should whatever happen to her she will have some one who can bail her out in her times of trouble.
12-Last but not least Bro what I am doing here is to support Tun garner votes for BN a party that I am supporting now only because the other party the marriage of strange bedfellows is so pretentious. Now and then Karpal will condemn the hudud to secure the non Muslim voters. While once a while PAS would demand to implement the hudud to retain their Malay voters.
Peace to all mankind!

Dear Tun,
Changing government? Everyone will agree, but of course not the opposition, to what you said.
It is obvious that compared to many other countries, the ruling federal government in Malaysia has done well to develop the country, unite the people and be fair to all citizens. No question.
However, we do need some changes real bad. The changes we would like to see are:
1. Change the corrupted leaders, whether they can be proven in court or not. Some of them know the legal loopholes to escape court trials, by use of proxies or capitalizing on the legal grey areas.
2. Some chief ministers are known to have no respect for the environment. Forest get cleared for profits to the towkeys, and wildlife get into the illegal trade, destroying our heritage and intellectual property, and sand get mined in rivers that pollute the downstream areas, and rubbish management left to the pleasure of rubbish collectors. Truly ecologically illiterate, that’s what they are, and a shame to the political party. Change them.
3. Change the cabinet ministers and deputy ministers and Menteri Besar who are below par in terms of job performance. They are appointed to do a job, but some are just simply hopeless, lacking minimum intelligence, totally unprepared academically, can’t even talk properly, and with below par PR attitude. What’s the point of keeping such people? They are liabilities, regardless of how many supporters they have.
4. Change also the ministers with show off wives – those women who would like to show off their expensive diamond rings, expensive shoes and handbags, expensive silk, expensive holidays abroad etc. They should be showing the contents of the brain to help the country, not to show off materials that can be purchased with money. Horrible wives make the politician husband look ugly and very stupid in the face of voters, and the international observers. They should be ashamed of themselves.
5. Most important of all, the political leaders have to have complete change of their attitude. The voters hate leaders who are so sombong, bongkak, and who never would listen to the masses. Years ago when most people were not so well educated the political leaders could get away with such attitude. Nowadays, the political leaders have to face very well educated people, specialists in all kinds of things, and people who are more intelligent, and are better groomed and exposed to international situation. Face to face with the new breed of educated masses, these hopeless political leaders often look like idiots, with some totally lacking in table manners, conversational manners, and even unable to be involved in intelligent discussions. They bring shame to the party.
6. Tun Dr. Mahathir made mistakes in appointing Anwar Ibrahim, Abdullah Badawi, Musa Hitam, and the latest pretender, Kadir Sheikh Fadhil. The Prime Minister should learn from Tun’s mistakes in choosing people. Obviously some people in the current cabinet need to be changed before history gets repeated.
Peace!
Dear Tun Tuah,
I did not make any “joke of the year” when I mention about changing the government.
I am not a supporter of PR.
If it is true that PR state governments (Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Ex-Perak) or their politicians were/are corrupt, the relevant authorities should then take actions on them. Why let them go away? Is there any action taken by the relevant authorities towards them?
A such, I suggest that actions should be taken to all corrupt PR politicians (and also to corrupt BN politicians). Bring them to court. Don’t just published their ALLEGED corrupt practices in the media. Charge them in court!
Rgds.
Tun,
Highway toll don’t have to be abolished it need only to be trim and control. It is true that nothing is free but some are being too much burden to rakyat. If only the Govt or public servants can do their job well, strong moral and have better accountabilities, we don’t have to privatise so many services and utilities. Then the rakyat don’t have to pay so much as the Govt don’t have ROI and profit reporting to shareholder. Those services will remain as public service and nothing more or nothing less. Today the rakyat have to pay taxes to the Govt and still have to pay for the profit to some companies and their shareholders for services. This is double payment and that is why the inflation is high. The poor get poorer and the rich get richer.
From water to electricity, from roads to daily requirements all necessity had been privatised to a few “BIG SNAKES”. Monopoly of rice, sugar and etc.. are the killing factors to BN. The rakyat are not stupid anymore they know and UMNO or BN cannot keep the lid on all anymore too. That is the changes the rakyat is looking for!!!!! I don’t think the rakyat is too concern who sit on PM chair, anyone can sit on that chair as long as that person can let the rakyat feel less burden and freedom of choice.
If BN ready have the rakyat welfare at heart, control those BIG SNAKES more and let the rakyat see and feel that they are doing the job as protector and guardian to the rakyat. Now most think that BN is for a selected people only as those are the main contributor of election fund and later their blackmail for “mega concession rakyat killing project”.
Greed, laziness and incompetent are the main cause of BN Govt fear of losing in the coming election. If the elected representative have being doing their job well and not just filling their personal pocket or holidaying there should not be any opposition as most Malaysians was very proud and supported BN before the turn around. If all can remember what was PAS and DAP, they were just “shouting boys” and “always suspended from parliament or local assembly type” or “the talk nonsense type”. Look at them now, they noticed the rakyat changes and they capitalised on it. BN was too slow, too confident and too bossy to notice anything and we should thank those who wake up this movement for a better Malaysia. BN or PKR or what so ever is not important, what is important is that the Govt for the day does its job for the rakyat and not for themselves or to a selected few. Then Malaysia will be the best place on earth. I am day dreaming……..

5-Just where on earth are they going to find the money to get bailed out? Who in the right from of mind wants to lend even more money to people who are already unable to pay their existing debts? Are there any such stupid bankers?
Iskandar is obviously not a banker and highly delusioned by Islam, a result of severe indoctrination.
There are many bankers who would lend you money, even while you have existing debts, and they are not stupid.
And Iskandar further argues
10-Since she knows she is going to go bust soon she will surely would have a contingency plan in place for her future, and that plan I suspect somehow must surely involve Malaysia. That is why we must continue to vote for BN at least for the moment.
I’m sorry, you’ve completely lost me there. How is it that Singapore’s handling the Euro crisis means we need to vote BN into office still ?
With this kind of philosphy, you would be ushering in world war faster than even the super powers can do !
We are one race, the human race. We do not go around looking for enemies or trouble when resources are scarce. We look for friends and more resources to survive.
What kind of a muslim goes around the world looking for trouble ? A stupid one i would say.

Salam Tun,
1. It seems to me your good site nowadays is like a political battlefield, without the flags and banners. I must say that the arguments used by BN supporters here are filmsy at best.
2. BN have no more new ideas. Kering kontang. I’m sorry, if you people expect some praises from me. Until i see lots of real compassion and care, i think i will say sayonara and good riddance to BN.
3. There is admittedly a tinge of sadness, even bitterness in saying goodbye to BN, because i had high hopes that BN will eleviate our human spirit to a higher level, a higher plane. But it is just impossible given the BN formula.
4. If someone pays me a lot of money to explain the political cllimate in Malaysia, i can bring it alll down to an empirical formula i.e. “Melayu Bodoh & Malas, Cina Tamak, India Belit & Penipu = BN”.
5. One can live an entire life in Malaysia by just remembering the above Mantra, which by the way is taught in all homes in Malaysia, regardless of race.
6. Maybe that is the one thing we all share in common, hatred and greed. Basically if you are sick in Malaysia, you die faster. But if you are greedy, you will thrive very well, yes. And if you are the corrupt type, you can become very rich.
7. Don’t you wonder why the flies come from all over the world to breed here ?
Save Malaysia, turn the Tinatic around !

Izinkan,
Greetings and thank you to Mr. alfred.willner for the reminder.
[When I first came to Malaysia in 1998 I said to my friends there that “people here life in paradise but they do not realize”.]
Once a foster brother (chinese) left for his tertiary studies in Australia and stayed there as a PR until he was given an altimatum .. take up its citizenship or leave!
He returned and his reason was simply ‘ Our country is a paradise.’
In Ozzie, when I long for food in the middle of the night, the refrigerator is the only place to look for, but here in Bangsar, I just had to walk across my house and can have the many choices of foods (hot) local and/or international cuisines.
YES sir, people here live in paradise but they do not realize that!
ALFATIHAH, AMIN
This coming Hari Raya the highway concessionaires should start reducing the tolls. RM1 for first 100km, RM2 for the next 100km, and RM1 for each additional 100km for cars. Lorries & busses will pay double that amount. I think many people will vote for BN if we have toll reductions.
Referring to comment by abdulazizomar, Thailand has many toll roads & nothing is free in the land of regular demonstrations. The police there are quick to stop motorists & getting RM10 from them for obscure offences. Malaysian roads are good, if only the toll rates could be further reduced. The resultant increased traffic would offset whatever loss imagined by the highway owners. The government should subsidise the people instead of the rich concessionaires.

Johnsean asked,
How about a New Californian Campus?
I know you wanted to create your own silicon valley, hence Cyberjaya. However, we live in a global market. Why not set up in California?
Guess it is not viable for a long term investment.. too many faultlines and a major earthquack is imminent in a not too far time distance.. a big gamble, won’t you agree?

We have had serious and learned comments on this Blog. Maybe we have should have some real life and light-hearted ones for a change here eg.
1. As I was being driven out of Changi Airport not too long ago, I asked ‘Mr. Lim, how are you this morning ?’ He replied, ‘So, so.’ I continued, ‘Why Mr. Lim, you must have a wife, a son and a daughter ?’
‘Yes, I have all those. Yet, I am unhappy.’ was his reply. Again, I asked ‘ You must have this big thing in Singapore, the HDB flat !’ ‘Yes! I have but I am still unhappy. Because in Singapore, I know I am going to be a taxi driver my whole life unlike you people (I suppose he was thinking of a certain Kuala Lumpur ex-taxi driver who became rich). I rather be like you in KL.’ I emphasised,’ You do not mind that now and then, we get folks dressed in clean and funny T-shirts, with full stomaches and pockets, from young to great grand mothers, the ugly and the beautiful, who would run around the streets of KL and demonstrate for something which they had already had for decades !’ Mr Lim replied, ‘ Not at all because I have a chance to make marney !’
The pasture is always greener on the other side.
2. ‘ Hi Mr Ahmad, how are you this morning ?’ as I got into my favourite taxi which I used regularly in Singapore. ‘ I feel bad this morning’ was his reply. ‘Why ?’ I asked. He continued, ‘ It is like this. Suddenly, I received a letter from the HDB that I have been allotted a 3 bed-roomed flat which I could not afford as I just could not earn more than what I get now even though I work night shifts because every cent is calculated in such a way that a taxi-driver gets only a certain amount each person no matter how hard he works ! When I refused to accept, my wife and two daughters opposed me. Eventually, we physically fought each other and a police report was made. We ended up in the Syriah Court and within less than 6 months we were divorced and my meagre savings were half given to my wife and daughters. At first, I thought I would enjoy myself by going to Batam and JB but I eventually found that all the women were only interested in my money. I have to be careful with what I have got now !’
This would not happen in Malaysia.
3. ‘ Good morning, Mr Tan.’ as I got into a taxi at Scotts Road. ‘How are you this morning’. He replied ‘ I feel bad.’ I continued,’ Mr Tan, you must have a wife, a son and daughter, and an HDB flat and there is no reason why you should feel unhappy ?’ ‘ I really do not know why I feel like this every morning.’ he replied. I said ‘ I think I know why you are like this. It is because every morning when you get up, you would look at your neighbours shiny cars and thought about money.’ Mr Tan exclaimed.’You are right. I did exactly like what you said.’ I told him,’Mr Tan why don’t you think like this. You already have a nice family and a job. Think of those who have not these wonderful things. And besides you have health, happiness and money come last.’ Mr Tan retorted,’ Now that you told me these things, I feel much better already !’
Money, money, money !
4. ‘ How are you Jordan ?’ I asked this driver who was driving the limousine. ‘ I am fine ‘ he replied. ‘ By the way, you ferried me around for so long, i never bothered to ask you who you worked for previously.’ He replied,’ I was a uniformed personnel working for the younger brother of that big fellow.’ ‘ Oh! Oh!’ I replied with no surprise ( fortunately, I never visited girly places or talked about secrets in this limousine and was always alone ! ) And I continued and he willingly told me the confidential episodes in his life which could not be mentioned in public. Then, I asked what could now be mentioned in public. ‘ When you got these tourists all worked up in JB (JB was a hot-spot then), what did you do ?’ ‘ I rushed them back to Singapore ‘ I hurried to add, ‘ Aren’t you a bit cruel after you got them all hotted up and you rushed them back to Singapore ?’ ‘ Sir, I get a better commission !’ was his unsurprising reply.
Because of his previous job, Jordan knew all the hot-spots on both sides of the hallowed Causeway !
We are all human beings and protected by the United Nations Universal Charter for Human Rights especially by Clause 16 etc.
Some real stories with facts of meritocratic Singapore I hope will convince all Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese to vote BN who did their best since 1957 under the circumstances of being an ex-British colonial territory.
Human problems can be corrected in a humane way.

//2. The world is certainly going through terrible times. Greece is bankrupt and Spain, Portugal and Italy are doing badly in their finances. Britain is also going through a depressed economy with scandals plaguing their most respected banks.//
1.The PIIGS nations are are all definitely going to default unless they get bailouts. They must get bailouts simply because if they default ,their creditors will join the Eurozone defaulters club too.
2-They are borrowing from nations who themselves are already having amongst the highest external debts in the world :- France at USD5,632 Trillion(254%GDP), Britain USD10.157Trillion(1,239% GDP) and Germany USD5.673 Trillion (183%GDP) (sourced:CNBC.Com)
3-The main reason for this truly unprecedented predicament is the overly high exposure of their Banksters to the subprime and the more recent European property bubble which they the banksters themselves helped to create.Their accomplices will surely be the speculators who must only make money whichever way the market goes.
4-When the propert market crashed all they do is just transfer these debts and losses to the taxpayers for that evil reason ‘too big too fail’.Now that the poor tax payers have bailed them out who is going to bailout the tax payers ? The situation look really very futile indeed.
5-Just where on earth are they going to find the money to get bailed out? Who in the right from of mind wants to lend even more money to people who are already unable to pay their existing debts? Are there any such stupid bankers?
6-The USA has a relatively low external debt of only 100% of its GDP but by volume it is already the highest in the World at USD 15Trillion.For their own survival USA and China may desperately want to help out. While the USA is already too broke to do anything China may have come to her senses, and ready to cut down losses. The longer she keep this perpetual debt system going the worst off her position will be .The collapse is coming anyway and her manufactures are already facing a significant fallout in demand hurting her quite badly.
7-This hopeless situation of the Eurozone could be explained by this shocking revelation on youtube made by a UK market trader Allesio Rastani over BBC late last year .The interviewer got her jaws dropped when he said “This economic crisis is like a cancer. If you just wait and wait thinking this is going to go away. Just like a cancer it is going to grow until it’s too late. What I would like to say GET PREPARED! This is not a time right now to wishful thinking that Governments are going to things sort out. The Governments don’t rule the world. GOLDMAN SACHS RULES THE WORLD! Goldman Sachs does not care about this rescue package, neither does the big fund” ……..
8-No wonder George Soros has given these European nations only three months.
9-Singapore I am made to understand has huge exposure to these European external debts.God bless them for being so smart. So Malaysia better be wary of her.
10-Since she knows she is going to go bust soon she will surely would have a contingency plan in place for her future, and that plan I suspect somehow must surely involve Malaysia. That is why we must continue to vote for BN at least for the moment.
Thanks Tun
Dearest YAB Tun,
Yes, I agree with you Tun.
Malaysians are indeed very FORTUNATE.
Thanks Tun.
*** May Allah SWT bless Tun and family ***
Hello Tun,
I assume this post is by way of a plug for your old party. Elections, must be imminent.
Change isn’t always good… BUT
Change is needed with the local auto maker, Proton and Lotus. I have written to the new management, who have expressed an interest in formulating a new plan, particularly for group Lotus.
How about a New Californian Campus?
I know you wanted to create your own silicon valley, hence Cyberjaya. However, we live in a global market. Why not set up in California?
Check out the link. I feel confident that any politician of any party would find this interesting.
As you are advisor to Proton it should be of interest to you.
John Mansfield

YAB,
Good morning YAB,
32. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/8/2/nation/20120802232159&sec=nation
33. GO FOR IT, PM Najib bin Tun Razak.
34. Influence US that Najib bin Tun Razak can stand firm and tall in Putrajaya has the political will and blessings from our King, Yang Dipertuan Agong, Sultan-sultan negeri, Chief Ministers, political parties, voters and people from Malaysia and the world to transform our economy administration that can be excelled as a champion that can be feel, read, see and hear.
35. Influence US that PM Najib bin Tun Razak can do better than the past PMs by choosing the best men and women with Malaysia at heart to work in the Ministry in making US the role model of championship in Economic and Administrative functions in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
36. To change federal government politically will lead to payment defaults similar to like what EU is experiencing.
37. Malaysia is just like USA and the world, we have gone through this financial shifts and paid the price for this crisis since 1997 until today.
38. Instead of changing the federal government, it would be better off for US to give our votes to PM Najib bin Tun Razak in GE13th to enable him to appoint the best men and women to be in his Ministry to keep Malaysia going by making US proud as Malaysian so that all of US have equality to choose our best lifestyle before law via votes.
39. For those men and women who are asked to leave the ministry and Federal Government, they must remember that their “pension” are from the Federal Government which would be paid off via taxes by all legalized entities in Malaysia.
42. Hukum Hudud is just only a lousy political gimmick when the loose coalition of PKR, PAS and DAP agree to disagree each others by treating US like fools to garner votes to win elections.
43. When they have full control in Federal Government, they will force US to change “Kepercayaan Kepada Tuhan” to “Kepercayaan Kepada Allah”.
44. Like what MiddleAge said, “mana boleh” kepada kaum India dan Cina yang tak makan daging lembu (cattle) atau kerbau (buffalo).
45. From 2004 until today, under Islam Hadhari, mosques are built here and there, is Islam teaching a religion that teach their devotees to fool us to reach thy cronies to get rich via Ministry?
“46”. If USA president increases their budget in military defense in protecting their sovereign wealth, why Muslim get offended?
47. Under our Federation Constitution, Islam is the only national official religion to make sure that the elected PM must be Muslim.
48. The lost of 2/3 majority was not an accident.
49. Though tension/stir was caused due to greed and fear of those who were not united behind WHO, being optimistic as “positive influence” is still the best way to turn the tide/tsumani because people are progressing in nature.
50. Tokyo folks have done that in re-building their homes and town in a year after the nuclear meltdown to motivate themselves that it’s good that we are alive and can always have an economic choice when scarcity is there not to give up hope.
51. It’s better off for US to change ourselves first for bigger picture rather than to hang on for something that won’t work in this generation.
52. I am not worry about the future.
53. Why?
54. Good and hard working people who are not calculative are those people whom have big heart to influence others as role model in achieving an “Identity” that is common and acceptable to all of US to keep Malaysia going.
That’s all, YAB, Selamat Berpuasa.
Salam YAB Tun dan rakan2 bloggers,
Tun, mohon nak komen brader2 bloggers…
a. He,he sebab Tok Guru, Anwar dan ketua2 pembangkang lain menggalakkan. Tapi, jangan lupa…pengaruh encik Iblis pun penting.
b. eanisazman – terima kasih kerana mengatakan Malaysia lebih baik…inilah bagusnya jika melihat negara orang lain sambil berfikir seperti saudara lakukan.
d. The Hidden Secret(THS) kata ‘why should be so scared if PR goes into office?’ Show me which part that BN denies your rights? the races? Go back to the constitutionla…BN follows the constitution…
Check-out the world competitiveness reports and you will see how BN put Malaysia above most of the countries. Baca komen2 saudara mubarakchan.
e. MiddleAges kata ‘we all know how greedy the BN government is…’ Come onla…be fair in your comments.

On 29/07/2012, Rais Yatim said his wonderful, beautiful Logo Hari Kemerdekaaan : ’55 Tahun Merdeka : Janji Ditepati’ in the official Portal Malaysia Merdeka’s facebook is not the official logo.
http://www.sinarharian.com.my/nasional/tema-55-tahun-merdeka-janji-ditepati-kekal-logo-rasmi-guna-1malaysia-1.71072
Rais Yatim said… “Bahan hiasan (artwork) yang dipaparkan oleh SESETENGAH PIHAK setakat ini hanyalah paparan selingan bukan logo rasmi,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan di sini hari ini.
Who is the “SESETENGAH PIHAK”? Who is the owner of Portal Malaysia Merdeka’s facebook?
Congratulations to Rais Yatim. He is extremely brilliant, extremely smart, extremely sensitive, extremely good.
Congratulations also to BN for having Rais Yatim as an extremely brilliant and smart minister for 30 years. Vote for BN if you want to keep Rais Yatim as your minister.
Why so scared to vote for a change? If PR can’t deliver, we can vote back for BN in the next general election. It is never the end of the world for Malaysia. Japan, France, UK and USA did change their government.
Rgds.
Alfred Willner,
Thanks for your comments. I appreciate your view and I think many Malaysians do….
SALAM KASIH DAN SAYANG
AYAHANDA RAKYAT TUN
Izinkan,
Sdr. The Hidden Secret,
We concur with your remarks ‘Changing the government is not something alien. It happened all over the world… It happened in France, UK, US, Japan etc.’
BUT if the leaders we elected have ‘alien’ desires, how can the country achieved the desired Vision 2020…Malaysia a developed country?
While Kit Siang and DAP desire the the route akin to the middle kingdom down south,
Nik Aziz and PAS desire the route to the middle east and
THAT fellow and PKR.. aargh, enough said of the pains in the arses, uncertain of the route desired.. to the front or behind?
During the current uncertain and fragile state of the world economies, the rakyat should consolidate under the current government and not take unnecessary risk with changes that can be alien to us.
WAWASAN 2020 BUKAN TITIK PENYUDAH BAGI GENERASI MENDATANG IA BERMULA
ALFATIHAH, AMIN.
Ps. Unlike that fellow, we believe it is permissible for the FLOM to mind her business from the behind of the PM.. not the front please.. unbecoming of a wife of the Head!
Assalamualaikum Tun.
Terima kasih Tun.
Salam Tun
May I refer to abdulazizomarAugust 1, 2012 at 7:15 pm
//I would like to comment about the toll, as you mentioned.
I have been to several countries but I never saw so much toll as we have in Malaysia. ….
….Thailand is poorer than Malaysia, but they have two lane roads coming and going (like our highway) right from the Malaysian borders up to the borders of Northern Thailand with Burma and Laos all free with not even a single toll !!!! — about two thousand kilometers of excellent roads. I hope that the government will consider abolishing this unnecessary toll….//
1-So true bro Aziz this thing has also been on my mind everytime I have to to upload my touch n go..its really hefty and cruel. How come Thailand can give free awesome highway to their people and we can’t.
2-True we are supposed to be the richer.
3-And from my observation also the kind of bitumen used on their highway is of a much better quality. And from my investigation it seem we are using the lower quality bitumen for our highways. Are you aware Tun?
4-The only shortcoming of this free highway is that there are no amenities like the one we enjoy here. There their hongnams are behind the bushes or somewhere but for a free highway nobody is complaining. If our highways are free I won’t too.
5-But I believe our Govt is really keeping these concession going just to help achieve that quota stuff, the kind of problem unique to Malaysia. In which case just don’t let the twenty four million tourist coming to Malaysia notice that .
6-Make it compulsory for everyone to use the Smart tag so that these sufferings we Malaysian have to undergo is not known to outsiders. Why should we tell others our problems.Let them think that our Govt is as people centric as Thailand.Do it like Singapore there is not even a toll booth. There are people who think Singapore highways are free.
7-Sometimes I feel truly ashamed too see these very long queus for people to enter or leave these highways before they will do the same after they enter another different highway 5 km down the road when threse expensive tolled highways are supposed to make travelling cool.Especially returning from Singapore,we look oh so floppy.
8-Tun could it be that our leadership being a son of a PM before may not be really as emphatic as the leadership of Thailand who actually knows what hardship is really all about?Maybe its about time that PM’s should be made to pay for the highway tolls so that they can feel the pain better.I am sure he can afford it.
9-I agree with bro Aziz it would surely be the best election goodie if these tolls could be scrapped. It is really not going to be easy to explain to sheeples why Thailand a poorer country than us could give a better quality highway free to its people.
10-Travelling on highways is for means of ziarah mak bapak and sanak saudara di kampong pendalaman untok perkukoh siratulrahim, untok cari rezki,to ponder upon God’s greatness in his creation, last not least to makan angin and spent quality time with family.Because it is mainly fardhu Kifayah an ibadah it should not be taxed at all.
Salam Tun
Tun
For eanisazman.
You are great and have expressed real sentiments through your observations of other peoples and other lands through seeing and not looking. You are very intelligent and not easily conned by those who are glib with a quick turn of mind.
I am moved by the facts which you expressed about our beloved country Malaysia.
This was exactly how I felt from young and to this day I do not understand why people in positions of power who are able to do a lot of good, could not deliver in the general interest of the Rakyat.
And of all people, Tun Mahathir Mohamad, a distinguished personality, was sometimes singled out for 3rd degree by the very people he benefitted.
We must all speak out for the general good of the Rakyat. We are way ahead of Singapore in human terms. We are not blinded by money which is based on meritocracy. We had humanity and multiculturalism since the Royal Sultans of yore and of the present, and the successive BN Governments since Merdeka led by able Prime Ministers.
We must all vote BN for all Malaysians especially the Bumiputras, all Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indians and the rest.
By this success, Malaysia would have reached over 60 years of independent BN Government led by UMNO !
Facts are facts !
Salam Tun,
Perhaps you like to add another strange phenomena that is happening in the US and that is cannibalism. Imagine walking on the street, somebody just come up to you and eat up your face.
In Malaysia, there is a sudden, sharp increase of violence against parents, siblings, spouse even babies are not spared and mostly committed by Muslims. Are all these crimes, drugs related or alcohol related? Why are people suddenly becoming very aggressive and violent? Just look at the Berseh demonstration, even PAS’ unit amal acted like commandos. The way they charged at the police who were just standing there doing their job. Something is so wrong with our Muslim brothers and sisters.
Tun,
You are still the best. You have realised and now on the repair and heal mode for mankind. Your journey towards peace and stability is very awakening and hope all can receive the positive energy. Time for all to turn-around before it is too late. Money and power do not bring inner happiness. Truth is the only sustainable others are debts.
Salam Tun and All,
I travelled to other countries quite often. When I’m young I studied abroad and now I have to travel for my work. My travelling took long time and not less than 3 weeks. I can feel the difference between one country over another and make comparison against mine.
I strongly believe that what you said is correct. Maybe I’m biased because I’m Malaysian but the way you describe it in your writings is exactly how I feel.
There are virtually nothing wrong with our country. Nobody is asking bribe money if you want to work with the Government here, no need to pay for medical attenion, no need to pay bribe money to get burial permits, etc. The inflation that we have today is far more tolerable in other countries. Try and pay RM5 for a litre of petrol and you’ll understand.
Here in this country you will feel at peace. You don’t need escort, no need to dodge flying bullets, no earthquakes, no flood disaster, full of greenery and abundance of natural wealth.
When we were told that some ‘divine Saint of God’ would bring prosperity into this purported corrupted and poor country, they just bluffing the low level pyramid of society for votes so that they can have Malaysia all by themselves.
If all what they promised can be done, PM Najib has been doing it long time already and would have enjoy easy votes from us
My fellow Malaysian, beware of these gift bearing crooks….You might not know whats hit you.
Salam Tun,
1. I think the whole idea of wealth seeking life is rather absurd. We are surely not put on this planet to seek wealth.
2. We are here to survive. And to survive together. I do not want to vote for a government greedy for growth.
3. If the BN government is greedy, they will fall, like humty dumpty. And we all know how greedy the BN government is, saya tak payah cerita lah semua orang tahu.
Pride comes before fall.
Thank You Tun
Menjadi owner sesebuah syarikat kadang2 amat memeningkan kepala, agaknya macam manalah Tun dahulu semasa menjadi PM melawan segala kritikan, tohmahan, tekanan dan segala macam masalah.
HEBAT SUNGGUH INDIVIDU YANG BERNAMA MAHATHIR MOHAMMAD INI.
Tun
I believed that our country is running out of lucks anytime soon.
Why?
1. We can see that tok guru agama menyeleweng. Tuhan mencarut la katanyer. Yang karutnyer pengikut kater betul.
2. Pemimpin PAS khalwat. Tak ngaku, then siap lagi dgn phone sex lagi.
3. Penyokong tegar peliwat sanggup berkorban untuk peliwat menjadi PM.
4. Anak derhaka, mat dayus n penzina ni ader penyokong untuk dier jadi pembesar negara. Wat happen to this melayu melayu islam ni…ni la akibat baca AlQuran tapi tak paham. Baca senonong aje. Ishhh
These days kiter dah tak de penegak Islam.
Manusia bodoh.
Yes. It is you all.
Salaam Tun.
I would like to comment about the toll, as you mentioned.
I have been to several countries but I never saw so much toll as we have in Malaysia. The toll that we see everywhere is a real nuisance to the public and one of the sources of the anger towards the government. Normally they take toll only sporadically, but in Malaysia they are the norms!!! I believe that the Government should do away with this hateful thing. The Malaysian government could efford to pay off and make the toll free. This alone will be a big boost for the Barisan government to win this coming election.
Thailand is poorer than Malaysia, but they have two lane roads coming and going (like our highway) right from the Malaysian borders up to the borders of Northern Thailand with Burma and Laos all free with not even a single toll !!!! — about two thousand kilometers of excellent roads. I hope that the government will consider abolishing this unnecessary toll. This is a form of ‘direct taxation’ on the public and surely Malaysia do not want to do this.
Thank you Tun. Selamat Berpusa dan ber Hari Raya !
SALAM KASIH DAN SAYANG
AYAHANDA RAKYAT TUN

Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
Beware of politicians who make promises.
May we add,
Beware of politicians who smeared the nation with ‘dirts’ at home and abroad.
In uncle mubarakchan, we have a very wise and good man. Thank you for your many good pointers especially to the Chinese community.
ALFATIHAH, AMIN
Malaysians, listen to Tun Mahatir!
Never change a winning team!
When I first came to Malaysia in 1998 I said to my friends there that “people here life in paradise but they do not realize”.
Maybe this was the only time in my life when I was completly right on a comment I made.

Changing the government is not something alien. It happened all over the world… It happened in France, UK, US, Japan etc.
If it happen in Malaysia, there is nothing to be scared off. I sincerely believe that PR might not be a perfect government (so does BN) but they are not that bad, not that evil.
Will it bring us harm if PR goes into office for one term?
Will it bring us harm if we give a strong signal to BN that we are willing to change our government?
Why we should be SO SCARED if PR goes into office?
There is nothing to be scared to change the government. If PR wins and we are not happy with them after one term, we can always change back to BN.
Changing the government is GOOD. Why is it good? Only by changing the government, the corrupt practices of the previous government could be brought up to court.
Rgds.
Salam hormat Tun Dr Mahathir
Salam

For iskandar shah 2
It is good, very good that Tun has encouraged and stimulated our thoughts and minds through his own initiatives in this Blog.
It is timely that we should look at ourselves and be proud that we are Malaysians whether Bumiputras or otherwise.
All Malaysians should be very proud especially the Bumiputras that we have marched together for the betterment of all sincerely and modestly.
I grew up with the generation of Bumiputras who were called ultras who later became Tuns and Tan Sris.
This was the 1960s when not much moved by way of socio-economics.
Our first Prime Minister is not to be blamed for this state of affairs nor the British nor the non-Malays. This was just one of those quirks in history which turn out to be brilliant due to the distinguished Prime Ministers even though there have been worrying moments of weakness in recent years which were exploited by strangers who thought no one was looking !
In fact, I consider this a transition to greater socio-economic endeavours in the 1980s which were actually 10 years late in the form of the NEP due to the unfortunate demise of the Father of Development Tun Abdul Razak and later, the distinguished leadership of Tun Hussein Onn. Both were great Prime Ministers.
The period of Malaysia/Malaya’s socio-economic development was ham-strung by the Currency Board Policies of the Ministry of Finance even though we had Bank Negara Malaysia from 1957 onwards. The Currency Board of Malaya Singapore North Borneo Sarawak and Brunei entailed we spent what we earned. As a result, the economy was slow moving which only benefited the British who held 70% of the best assets of the country and through their banks and Trading Agencies eg. Harrisons & Crosfields, Guthrie, Boustead, Sime Darby, East Asiatic, Socfin etc which controlled the imports and the prices of the commodities, and the Chinese owned the 20% of the lower grades. The Currency Board was dissolved in 1972 !
Hardly any new businesses were set-up. Jobs with potential were few.
The British were in control in the plantation and mining industry Boards and Councils with a sprinkling of Malaysian Chinese.
It was against this back-drop that my Bumiputra friends found themselves in their own country in which they did not own any assets. And I thought this was not fair and that if we must have a Nation , all must have a fair share of the cake or else, no one will progress. And the attempt to do so must be right at the top of the pile – the biggest corporation.
As the cake was 70% held by the British, it was only logical and fair that we bought back the assets from them at fair market value with no nationalisation.
This was the fact – hence, the NEP.
The first breakthrough came in 1973 when Sime Darby was involved in some scandals. And my friends and myself thought it was the right time to move by acquiring the control of this conglomerate. This had the tacit blessings of Tun Abdul Razak, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Tun Ismail Mohd. Ali.
The Malaysians ran out of money after spending RM 23 Million and eventually, obtained control with the help of two big Singaporena investors who were later handsomely rewarded.
With the fall of Sime Darby, Guthrie and the Malaysian Estates of Harrisons & Crossfield followed in the early 1980s. And as it is said, the rest is history.
It was during the famous 22 year Administration of Tun that the NEP finally took off and came into full bloom.
It was during this period that the middle income Bumiputra community expanded and with it KFC and MacDonalds, and supermarkets and taman-taman and more, even though the NEP was actually 10 years late in practice.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Malaysia’s general progress and development is far ahead of Singapore’s comparatively in human terms.
We did not build a modern temple of money without spirit or soul. We based our endeavours on the human spirit which still thrives actively today. Our Foreign Policy is genuine – one of friendship and brotherhood. We did not boast of hollow endeavours and forced to pay for it now ! Yes ! We did lose money which was lost with a sincere motive for the betterment of the country even though these were mistakes sometimes created by the losers changing the rules. We did not try to brow-beat down lesser folks and march with the World’s apparent greatest. We know our place in the Sun ! We Malaysians are genuine and honest.
This is Malaysia for all of us, a great Nation created by the BN together with the Rakyat for over 55 years without interruptions !
All Malaysians, especially the Malaysian Chinese, if you do not think the BN had sincerely achieved what it could do, honestly no other Front can replicate its achievements especially those with only 6 gentlemen.
Vote BN !
Dear Tun,
You made me say alhamdulillah (Praised to Allah) when i realized that we are so lucky compared to those out there. Keep on writing, i bet there’s a lot of Gen Y out there who still not know how to be gratefull.
Hi Tun. Thank you Tun.
Salam Ramadhan buat Tun yang dihormati,
Dan pembaca sekalian.
1. Greedy people make noble people suffer.
2. Fools always certain about their thoughts.
3. There is nothing wrong of being starving to death as long as we live in pride and died in honor.
4. Who says that being rich and enough food to eat is better if we left unthankful and hungry for more and take solat, puasa, and zakat for granted?
5. Who says Malaysia is not thankful, we says thank everyday.
6. Some portion of unthankful and greedy people that makes Malaysian suffer
Thank you
Assalamualaikum Tun.
Bukan politicians saje x boleh dipercayai janjinya.
Orang biasa pun x betul janjinya.
Jadi caranya,bersangka baik sahajalah.
*sorry, tulisan saya masih lagi tak berbau politik, sbb pendapat politik saya, saya pun jarang ditulis.
terima kasih Tun.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Thanks for this article, made me say Alhamdulillah and towards the end of it..made me say Nauzubillah min zalik
Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
terimakasih Tun
Good morning YAB,
24. It’s not easy to achieve what we have today.
25. To create a vision is easy.
26. To maintain and make the vision alive and happenings, we have to keep searching for plans or programs that can rally supports to keep the vision going.
27. Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country whereby no politicians can claim that they are more superior than others.
28. Generation Elections are for all Malaysians including Government, NGOs, Associations, Political Parties, people and etc. to reach a common goal and identity to choose the best Prime Minister to lead political parties and Chief Ministers to keep Malaysia Going.
29. Whether is Greeks bearing gifts, or politicians who make promises, voters will decide.
30. But change is inevitable especially when they join political party is to get mega project contracts or get rich only.
31. I am sure YAB would not want the country to be ruled by money politics forever that can bankrupt a country or may lead to civil wars.
Selamat Berpuasa, YAB.
Dear Tun,
I agree with your analysis. Financially the world is ailing and the recovery is slow and uncertain. What is certain is that it may spread our way. if it happens the way Tun describe it, we may also suffer economically and financially. Our share market would be hit, but hopefully it may not be as bad as the TITANIC hitting the ice berg. Those who invest in the share market, please watch out.
Beware of politicians making promises. Nothing is free this world except sunshine and fresh air.
Beware of Greeks(strangers) bearing gifts
amin tan
My Salam to Tun and Tun Dr Hasmah.
But of course there are always people who will not accept the fact that Malaysia is THE country to live in, to stay and to make money. Otherwise why do we have so many foreigners coming here? Even before merdeka foreigners have been coming here. And their children and grandchildren are still here. A few have become billionaires. Many have become lawyers, doctors, bankers, engineers, successful business people, judges and cabinet ministers. Most of them are happy here as Malaysians.
But then again, there are these idiots who are not satisfied. They want a pot of gold delivered to them every morning together with their morning newspaper. When others work hard and become successful they are called cronies. To them every successful businessman is a crony. Maybe the government should stop making roads, buildings, schools, hospitals and airports. Give a project to a businessman and he becomes a crony. Someone should tell the government to give projects to the monkeys in the forest of Kalimantan. At least they wont talk like idiots. But eventually, these idiots will call these monkeys cronies. But never mind these idiots lah. Can’t expect an idiot to be grateful.
Thank you, Tun.
So true Tun.. God Bless you and bonda Siti Hasmah..
Nikmah kita yg berpuasa di Malaysia
Kita rasai kehausan,kelaparan,kepanasan
Namun tiba Maghrib kita masih berpeluang menikmati
Juadah, minuman yg panas, juga sejuk, bersama keluarga tersayang, dengan suasana harmony, cuaca aman
Bershukurlah kita,bersujud shukurlah kita!
Bantuilah saudaraku disana,mangsa hasutan Syaitan
Yg belum tentu ada makan, minumnya, ya Allah
Dengan ledupan bom seharian, tembak menembak dengan senjata Syaitan
Lindungilah anak anak mereka
Sedarkan Ketua ketua mereka yg bertanggung jawab atas perbuatan mereka.Hampuskanlah hasutan luar yg menghancurkan mereka,ya Allah
Kerana inilah punca kehancuran
Agree.

Malaysians are indeed fortunate to live in a country which has a fairly normal environment.
As yet I would not like to encourage them to pat themselves on the shoulder because events in the political arena might turn such an idyllic and peaceful scenario into chaos and destruction like Sri Lanka in the 1970s after they emerged from the cocoon of colonialism in the early 1950s.
It was wealth and politics too. Some of the politicians were very rich.
To keep our beloved country’s peace, stability and prosperity, it takes a lot of hard work by the right political leaders working together with the Rakyat.
What we see in Malaysia today and about all the better side of life as mentioned by you, was the stewardship and leadership through the years since Merdeka by successive BN Governments, especially your famous 22 year Administration which formed the bulwark for the thrust to next level.
This next level will only happen if the Malaysians support the BN because the 6 leaders of the Opposition do not have the luxury of time even though we all expect to live up to 100 years, not because of the good doctors but the good medicine !
The BN inheritors of this great legacy must do their job responsibly and ably.
To be a great leader as shown by you, Tun, is a 24 hour job. The hopes and expectations of a Nation with a population of 27 Millions fall on the shoulders of the top leader. There is no running away from this.
Once, the wayang stops and no goodies flow down the slippery slope of the power pyramid in a diverse population in our country, we can only expect trouble, one way or another. There are the disinheritors ready to duel and exploit the smallest weaknesses of the incumbents !
The problem was that you made the job of being the top leader looked so easy. But these inheritors thought they could do it just as well if not better, just like driving a car – a dual dimensional exercise. In fact, it is worse than flying a plane for a politician who really must be professional – politics is without any dimension ! This was where your medically trained mind came into play and those who tried to copy, found they failed because they lived in another world.
Little did they know that you thought about a problem a long time and made a fast decision at the right time ! This also made you thought you were talking to these folks on the 88th floor but in fact, their minds were right down in the basement !
A veteran politician once advised me that those who eventually hold the reins of power and responsibility should preferably come from the right background to walk the corridors of power.
Yes ! Our beloved Malaysia has not many natural disasters unlike other countries. But we are on the verge of creating a huge one or shoot ourselves in the foot if we vote the wrong party.
The BN has come a long way despite natural fault lines of the populace. This is why it is so important that BN should and must rule as a referee to divide an ever increasing cake which was not baked since 2003 – it is still in the oven !
Compared with a neighbouring superlative country, Malaysia since Merdeka of 1957 e.g.
1. Did not have a blood-stained Foreign Policy whereby money was used as an investment resulting in the killing, and maiming of innocent men, women, and children. You have no blood on your hands.
2. Did not lose US $108 Billions of the citizens’ Trust money on Wall Street in October 2008 without a meritocratic pyramid.
Vide. Channelnewsasia. Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs. 2009 to 2012. Financial Times London. Gillian Tett. ‘Singapore’s Harvard Model’ April 2010.
3. Humanity and multi-culturalism were always practised since the Royal Sultans of yore and successive BN Governments.
4. Did not impose a two-child family policy on the population in contravention of the United Nations Universal Charter of Human Rights especially Clause 16.
5. The sovereignty, national interest and self-esteem were safe-guarded.
6. The Malaysian Judiciary System is fair and just to safeguard the life and blood of a mighty Nation. Vide. Admiral Canaris.
7. The top leader did not line his pocket legally or illegally.
There are many more deeds of the BN which did make the lives of all Malaysian easier. Much much more can be done if other major parties really put themselves to the wheel of progress in the BN and not only look nice in colour photos in the media and also a free ride.
We may have to work for our free lunch if we do not understand what the BN has done for the country.
Mistakes can always be corrected. We are human beings.
Salam Tun
22. To be in power for 56 years is a long time. But look at the progress. No other developing country has made such progress.//
1-So true.We actually only started to be developed after 1965 after the separation with the already second highest GDP in Asia,Singapore.
2-For the info of those who doesn’t know Singapore was a stand alone state from 1957 to 1963.She was not part of Malaya yet but being a British crown colony she was very developed, unlike Malaya. She was very very rich even before joining us.That is why she was so arrogant.
3-So the fact that today many foreigners see Malaysia is just a bigger Singapore,is a testimony we have actually made real outstanding progress nations who have achieved independence 10 years earlier like India and Indonesia could attest.
4-Nobody had contributed more to this dramatic development quite like our beloved Tun and his twenty two years legacy. How lucky we Malaysians are to be blessed with this mission unstoppable man.
5-Maybe Najib is another God sent to Malaysia like all the rest.So far he has shown real hardwork to get the votes very unlike his predecessor who was lulled by the ‘kami sayang Pxx Lxx’ rhetoric.
6-I do notice that his wife Rosmah is getting less coverage now or is it that I am only imagining? If Najib is willing to give the Opposition say fair media coverage before the election I think that would make him look more credible and appreciated by the people on the fence.
7-I believe BN is our only hope to go forward in these troubled time to come which I predict will be truly “unchartered territories.”In this moment of economic disaster to come we need a party that have the experience dealing with unexpected financial crisis before.
8-This marriage of strange bedfellows will be heading for divorce the moment they enter into these challenging times. All of them have no experience nor clue whatsoever as to what to do.One party may decide on a socialist solution while the other their version of an Islamic solution,in the end all they will only choose the easy way they are very good at- just blame the BN for the mess the nation is in and hope to get away.
9-This is definitely not be the time to be experimenting with a new political leadership esp with amateurs.Maybe PRU14 or 15 be the time,if the BN has not shown much change as we would desire. We would still the boss by then,if we are still around.
Thanks Tun
Assalamualaikum Tun dan semua,
For a second I thought Tun was predicting the coming end of the world. But Tun was reminding all to beware of people may turn this country toward the end of life as we are living in.
We should be thankful to the way our life in Malaysia, of course it can be better. We can practice our religion freely…especially so to the muslim. The issue that part muslim is which practice is ‘more islamic’. The more islamic then tends to brand the ‘lesser one’ as unislamic.
The same applies to democracy. Where the perfect democracy?…our democracy may not be perfect but it has served us better up to now. Our democracy is evolving…some may be getting unpatient.
well explained Tun! Eye opener as always..
Just hope the government is NOT rushing in implementing GST. Recently, lots of pro-articles were published and giving STUPID examples of tax reduction for restaurants, hotels, clubhouses & etc2. BUT, middle-to-low income people are NOT going to spend their money into EXPENSIVE restaurants, hotels, clubhouses & etc2. PLEASE open ur eyes…!!! Hope the 56 years experience will not be the end….as pension year is 55..LOL
Truly agree Tun. May be if Malaysia still wants ‘change’ to happen and bring Arab Spring home, in 50 years they will realize, what a fool they are and how lucky they were to have a leader like you in history. I cannot imagine if we stop developing or if the government has to fight with its people like the Syrian government. Our people who are easily influenced and mudah lupa..
Ramadhan kareem and blessing of Allah be upon you.
Mas
i like yr last note…. or shall i say WARNING>>CODE RED!
but i think in Malaysia now.. instead of Rakyat, Beware of Politicians… it is the other way around now…
