2. But it would be good if the people are informed about the cooperation and collaboration.
3. I am not in the Government now but still people come to me to talk about their problems. I find that many of them have some very good ideas which would not harm the Government if it listens to briefings about them.
5. I was a great plagiarist when I was in the Government. Many of my ideas came from stealing other people’s ideas. Fortunately no one has so far sued me. Of course many people, including civil servants like to say that everything done in this country is due to me. I don’t always refute their statements and being human I like to bask in this undeserved glory.
6. A lot of people have voiced their unhappiness with the national education system. Some say there is too much stress on examinations, others say that getting 20As in examinations really does not mean anything. Others want to see history and other subjects be made compulsory. Others want to revert to the national language or mother tongue for teaching everything. Contrary views have been voiced on the teaching of mathematics and science etc etc.
7. Some who run private schools and universities have been extremely successful, despite charging fees, high fees sometimes. I am amazed at their dedication because the education industry will not make the educationists millionaires. But they seem to put their hearts and soul into their jobs.
8. Their teachers are also dedicated and many of their students have grown up, married and have children of their own. The ultimate endorsement of the private schools is when their former students send their children back to the school, to their alma mater so to speak.
9. I don’t think the country will lose if we listen to their stories of success. There may be something to learn from them. We may be able to adopt some of their ways. We may even be able to detect the faults in our systems and make adjustments.
10. I hope that the Malaysia Inc. Concept can be revived, that is, if it is now dormant. It is a good concept. The private sector can learn a lot about the problems of governing and would be more tolerant. On the other hand the public sector can learn much about how the private sector functions, and their problems. The understanding engendered by the public/private sector cooperation cannot but benefit everyone and the country. Maybe something good will come of this.
11. I am not presuming to teach the Government. But so many of those who saw me believe I can be of help that I felt I need at least to indicate that they have problems and perhaps ideas which the Government might look at.
Salam Tun,
Really love the Malaysia Inc. idea.
You are a true nationalist.
Myriads of thanks!

Dear hero,
I do not know whether Tun Dr M agreed with your view or not. Our RM was under attacked by Gergio Soros (the real money vampire who sucked our money with dirty job, you want to blame, blame him lah), and our RM depreciated to more than 70% of our real value.
If you are our PM, what will you do then? If they are Ah Lee, Ah Lan or Ah Man, I think you will use the same strategy.
So, kalau tak faham, belajar lah Ekonnomi, jangan lah asyik marah dan blinded with jealousy!
Why government is moving to GLC under Badawi? It is because Badawi is lembap (means slow) and was killing the government. If I am the major share holder of the Malaysia Inc, I will definitely move to GLC because if BN lost and replaced by opposition party, not my party, why should I support!
Mr Hero, (I hope you are not the Jet Li kind of heroism), pray and make sure that BN will win in next election, if not all these GLC’s will do whatever they can under our jurisciary of the country to protect their money being utilized by the Oppostion party and by that time, every dam thing will increase lo!!! Just imagine, can you allow your wife sleeps with your enemy?
Good night Ayahanda Tun, and it’s amazing how people can be blinded so easily by gossip and justice (the konon type).
YAB Tun,
The Malaysia Inc concept was a fantastic idea from Tun but it was collapsed due people like Tajuddin, Halim Saad and many others. Instead on a win-win concept between private and public sector through privatisation some of the government assets, end-up public sector is on the loosing side.
Theese suckers sucked dry the value assets ($$$$$) thereafter pass back the problem assets to the Government, good example is MAS, PKA and PLUS. Much effort thereafter the Govt appoint professionals to turnaround these companies.
Since Badawi, Government moving towards GLCs instead of Malaysia Inc, as too much abuse in the past.
Do you agree with me?
Che Det…
Great plagiarist ??? That’s a crime… but some credits for those where it came from, wouildn’t hurt the baskin, would it ?
Most of developed nations are developed because of the “Intellectual Property”, some are licensed, some are as free give away gift (e.g open source).

My tribute Song for all the people of our beloved Nation, MALAYSIA
Just believe in yourself and you DEFINITELY BOLEH!
Dato’ Sri Najib’s 1 MALAYSIA with Tun Mahathir’s BOLEH! Spirit & Attitude = 1 MALAYSIA BOLEH!
Satu Impian . Satu Harapan . SATU MALAYSIA BOLEH!
All Of Us Together, In Unity & Harmony – Towards Peace & Prosperity
From KLIA to Cyberjaya to Putrajaya to KL Sentral to KLCC, all these mega projects happened during your time of Premiership. If you did not give the green light, none of these would appear. Of course, behind your leadership is a huge team that actually made things happen. You have been to so many countries around the world and have seen so many different situations. Ordinary Malaysians trusted you to give them the very best. How many ordinary Malaysians can go round the world even once in their lifetime ? Even being sent to another country for official work is difficult because of the fees demanded from the other side. Not just the fees, but the bureaucracy and human favours. The world is such that it is moving in one direction. If the country fails to follow that direction, it would be left behind. So whatever is done seemingly follow a standard. If it is glass buildings, then the country must have glass buildings which look futuristic. If it is MS ISO, then MS ISO it is. It is something like a criteria which every country has to fulfill in order to follow this one direction to where, only God knows. Education too. We are following the British, we are following the Americans, we are following the French, we are following the Aussies, but again soon, there will be just one global education system so that students can study anywhere and all they have to do to transfer their credit points. Education will no longer be about whether one pass or fail. Whether one is a genius or not. Whether one has to be the teacher
Dearest YAB dan Di Kasihi Tun,
1. Agree with Tun. A good government must always LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE first; LISTEN..LISTEN and ..LISTEN; then only make whatever important decisions that have to be made…
2. But then, we have people/leaders who are really
Ayahanda Tun,
Touching on the education system, it is simple and can be solved without complicating the issue. The issue became a “hot and unneccesary topic” and was debated through media because each party members, especially the BN, our ruling government, have their own agenda, that is to make sure they can get the power from their races to make sure they will be able to get a piece of the cake in Malaysia.
These politicians did not do their ground zero homework fairly and correctly because they are only good in politic-king, that is why the topic became uncontrolled and manipulated by the parties and media. They are more interested in threatening the government rather than solving the education problems for our future generation.
Yes, as a decent rakyat, I will not pressure our BN in solving the problem hastily. If possible, let the decision be made only after PRU 13. Discuss and debate the issue without media involvement. Let the media know only when the result is ready.
CAT system is not the “best approach” in solving multi-racial national issues because we are not ready for this system and we have not achieve 1Malaysia yet. Singapore can do this because it is a small country and is not a multi-racial country. Furthermore, it is a Family Incorporate Nation.
Being a plagiarist is not wrong, Ayahanda Tun, but the plagiarist must be able to solve problems arising from “plagiar-ism” and make it his/her copyright. In this world, be it government or private sectors, we copy from each other and make it our copyright. Well, this is why we have COPYRIGHT policy!!!
Good day Ayahanda Tun.
SALAM AYAHANDA RAKYAT TUN

Tun,
1. Alaaa…Tun kan penasihat kepada syarikat top 500 (Petronas).
2. Petronas kan perform. Banyak maneuver deal untuk business luar negara score atas nasihat Tun.
3. Tun qualify to give advise atau teach the current admin.
4. Compared to those “self-proclaim” pros with oxford degrees and an ex-dpm (not DSAI) who runs Sime Darby. Sime Darby got no vision, edge or even business creativity during their reign. Their business angle is lame and have no spark, no sense of adventure. Im quite surprised those losers are still there. Whos the “schmuck” gave the idea to take over IJN, that is so lame…..
5. Tun can advise and teach the remaining “losers” in Sime Darby or even the head of GLCs who still remains there which was helicoptered in by previous admin. Or to make things easy advise the current leadership to sack all those losers, save alot of money and time teaching them.
6. Personally for me Malaysian Inc. cant be relive or succeed if these losers still there.
7. I know, org kata saya “macamlah pandai sangat awak tu”. Ya memang saya tak pandai, thats why im not the CEO of those GLC. Thats why i rather be here and express my comments.
8. I really dont mind if first 2 years GLCS producing nothing or loose money along the way, its re-organization and re-strategizing period. But what the hell if 6 years straight with “ZERO” results and the only significant thing they can come up is buying IJN!!! That is SO LAME….. That is really waste of money….
9. I dont mind about Perwaja or Proton loosing money, at least they are adventerous enough to venture into that tough business environment but coming up with buying IJN?!!!! that is so lame…What their business development are doing?!!!!

Salam Ayahanda Tun,
Government Agencies need a total transformation. ‘Cross fertilization’ idea from YAB Dato’ Seri Najib was meant to make Government Agencies relevant and up-to-date in their services and thought. I strongly support this idea.
In this case, Policy Makers (Politician) should not 100% rely on Government Officers as they are sometimes unlikely to disclose their weaknesses in implementing the Policies. In other words, things are always perfect on paper/reports.
Their services are mostly outdated and require a lot of bureaucracies or red tapes. Bureaucracies or red tapes are opportunity to ‘negotiate’ and again as per reported in Star Today, Government Servants are second in corruption.
I am specifically pointing to services offered by Departments dealing with foreign workers.
To the Government, please do the transformation ASAP.
Salam.

here we can see so many extrimist including you which did not emphasize to make Malaysia a better place and showing disrespect to someone that elder and someone that has contributed so much in this country. Comparing to you, you should ashame of yourself which noone realize your contribution towards this country.
if you became a leader, you will also face the same thing as you emotionally attack the leader. remember, what we earn now doesnt mean longlast. so appreciate what we have and take some readings and facts to improvise we have now.
I dont mean to blindly support Tun but please respect what he had done. otherwise you wont be able to critisize if the country didnot progress and stable like we have now.
I love to see critisim with suggestion from you and exchanging ideas.

Salam Ayahnda Tun
Dear Tun,
I admired your first instant to make Malaysia Inc. as govt policy in 1983. I created one and the private sector even make their company/JV in the name X incorporated dev sendirian. The mayor expressed it as being the 1st. Today it is econic and thrives. Nontheless I am history. But when you wrote again about its “dismissal” I am disappointed. I am working/on draft on another Mal Inc 2 InshaAllah
God bless u.
YABhg Tun,
I supposed, Malaysian Politics is always about wanting to be remembered. Politicians I mean. There are just too much rhetoric by too many politicians. Too much packaging and repackaging work done on the same product. Everyone wants to have his face infront of the package. So, it’s not unusual if Policies are changed the minute another Minister took over certain Ministry.
Just take a look at the Education Ministry and you’ll know what I mean. There are just too much changes done within too short a period of time. So much so…the joke is, everytime there is a change in policy, it must have been the result of the minister falling off his bed the night before.
SALAM TUN,
SAYA HAIRAN MENGAPA TUN TIDAK MENUBUH YAYASAN UNTUK BERJASA KEPADA RAKYAT TERUTAMA SEKALI RAKYAT MISKIN DAN TIDAK KEMAMPUAN DARI SUDUT KEWANGAN. TUN MEMPUNYAI RAMAI SAHABAT YANG TUN TELAH MEMBUAT MEREKA KAYA RAYA BAGI MEMBANTU TUN MENUBUH YAYASAN. TETAPI DIMANA MEREKA SEKARANG. MUNGKIN TUN TELAH TERSALAH SALAH PILIH SAHABAT KOD.

Dear Tun,
It is timely that Tun bring up Malaysia Incorporated again. Those in the government should realise that they are there to serve the citizen not to serve their ego. Ministers are people representatives. Civil servants are supposed to serve society and not to boss over the people and be rude and arrogant in their tasks. Tun is not copycat or plagiarist when Tun first introduced the concept taken from the japanese. For the country to progress and prosper the government must proactively and purposely help, assist, encourage and facilitate the private sector and not treating the private sector with suspicion and as rival. This is the basic concept of democracy.

Salam Hormat TDMM & TDSH,
Hope both of you are keeping a good health.
I have not blog in for a few topics that you have posted. As always it is interesting. As you have said people do still voice opinion and problem to you indicating that you says still count. I wish I can share my problem to you too. Normal problem that most Malays are facing ie have knowledge, qualification & hard working but no contact thus not able to progress for a better living for the family. As in my case because I am one of the orang ulu that the government of yours have managed to give me education, I wish that you can read my profile and advise me whether I deserve a better opportunity to be a better individual that eventually help others. It sounds a familiar phares but I do mean it since now I do reach out to motivate others to be a better person but the scale is small. Wish that I could communicate with you directly. If you ever have a little time for this humble request maybe we can communicate through my mail [email protected].
Thank You SIR!!!
salam Tun,
Ayoyo thambi Ravi,
You very self -important lah!Almost god-like contempt of Tun’s actions.
I believe you plagiarised from my earlier comments in previous posts that some commentators should be taken to task for inciting racial hatred. You very good copycatlah! But I am sure that I was earlier than you in highlighting this issue.
But you are so stupid to accuse me of racist remarks,as your fatous self grandiose comments above seem to depict.
Dont shoot in the dark, clown thambi!Go get psychiatric treatment!

Kalau boleh saya nak Tun (bukan Tun Lah)komen pasal projek Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) dan Stadium Sultan Mizan, Terengganu.
Please Tun !!!
Salam buat Tun berdua moga dirahmati Allah s.w.t.

Askum Tun,
I’m an avid fan of yours…..and I know it’s been million of times that u’ve heard this. I am what I am now partly because of you….your vision and your wisdom. I’m an accountant by training and am a consultant now. I’ve pursued my dreams of being a photographer…coz that’s what I’m passionate of. I spent night and day learning the trades of being one….in Australia where I studied and worked…..followed a professional photographer for 4 years just to improve myself. He didn’t even know that I’m a qualified accountant only until recently. Since then I’ve won awards in photography…..and all because of your words and drive. It made me what I am today.
I have achieved my passion….but it won’t be complete though. Coz actually I went into photography just to take pictures of you and your wife. And I think I’m up for it now. Do write me Tun about my quest…
here’s my e-mail: [email protected]
Take care and thanks.

Assalamualaikum Tun,
I tends to agree with you, nothing much been heard about the Malaysia Inc. lately. The concept previously brought by you were jealously been admired by the western as I recalled. The Government recently has announced few steps but it is yet to be seen..especially the exchange of the officers from public to private sectors and viceversa. The openess of the Government to offer the high ranking post in their agencies for those who is competence may well see a paradigm shift in the public sectors work system. This is inline with the Malaysia Inc. concept, however, it is still yet to be proven.
As for our education system Tun, I have sympathy to those trying to solve the problems. There are many ways to resolve it and I think the previous Education Minister have made some improvements though not in total. The concerned on the national language on maths and science should not be the issue since the country is heading for the skills of research in enhancing for the higher technology. The national language can be improve in another way..for example the introduction of a compulsory non-academic class once a week to all classes from standard 1 to form 5. In fact, it can also expand it to the introduction of the national culture into the class.
How many of us (Malaysian) know the differences between “tarian Inang and Zapin”? The Dragon and the Lion Dance? And many more from the Indian, Sikh, Iban, Melanau, Kadazan, etc. etc.
The country is rich of treasures (languages, culture, history) but very little been explored.
Another subject is the Physical Education which ties with sports in school. The country have spent tons of money to developed skills, capabilities and knowledge of our sportsman and sportswomen. Unfortunately, many of them does not turn to be success in life although some of them have contribute for their country, state, district or whatever capacity and event. The sad thing, some of them were being ignored and treated as nobody by at least one State Government that I know off although he was one of the best goalkeeper in football that I know in that particular State when he was at the younger age.
Why can’t we use their expertise in sports to teach the children Physical Education in school rather than let those academic teachers take this burden. Surely. our sportsman and sportswomen would like to contribute their knowledge and share their experiences to the children in school rather than to spent their time in the office work. The Government could transform these guys to be sports teacher for full time and perhaps offered them with all the benefits they should get as any other teachers served in the Government.
This is similar to the private school that you have mentioned Tun. At times, it is not the monetary reward that is the greatest although it is yet important, but the satisfaction and dedication to certain thing or subject and do what we like to do has made the success.
Malaysia Inc. was a success story and continue it will be…as long as full dedication is there, willingness to listen and open for suggestions in order adjustments to be made on the faulty systems with all the support from top to bottom.
Wassalam.
Tun,
Tak habis-habis dengan isu beras!
Malaysia incorporated konon! Itu dulu katanya sebaik sahaja selepas ditabal jadi PM. Rakyat golongan sederhana merintih BERAS MURAH tiada dipasaran. Nak beli beras mahal, tak mampu.
Nak suruh kita makan apa? Makan gandum? Makan Roti? Nak makan bubur nasi pun terpaksa beli beras mahal tau!
Mereka yang jadi menteri ni layaklah beli beras mahal.Duit cukup, tak payah pergi ke pasar. Orang gaji yang belikan. Diorang apa tau?
Nak repot kat kementerian mana? Kementerian industri asas tani? KPDNHEP? Jangan haraplah. Kedua-dua kementerian ini hanya bermain tarik tali. Asyik nak mengelak dan beri alasan sahaja. Satu kementerian mengatakan beras cukup, manakala KPDNHEP bakal akan kata
Dear Tun,
I think the government of the day seems to be conscious of the general public perception (especially the opposition leaders) stating that Malaysia Incorporated which you introduced is actually a concept to create cronyism and nepotism and only to enrich a certain elite group of people within the circle.
So the general feeling now it is best to keep a distance with people in the private sector. It has become a “phobia” among government leaders to be associated closely with those people in the private sector for fear of being accused of abusing their power and taking advantage of whatever proposals made particularly by well-known captains of industry for their own vested interest.
They seem to be not wanting to be connected with these high profile private sector businessmen who might have plenty of proposals to put forward.
Actually there is merit to continue the Malaysia Incorporated concept. Najib must make every effort to follow up with this concept to move the country forward or else it will be oppotunity lost for the country. There must be a continuous dialogue between government leaders and captains of industry to establish closer relationship with them and to identify their needs in order to make it easier for them to do business and increase their business activities.
Once a while have an informal garden party at Seri Perdana and mingle around with them to make them comfortable with government leaders. The only word of caution is don’t OVERDO!!
Dearest Tun,
I agree with the idea of the Govt looking to the private sector for guidance.. this way to obvious but for some reason the govt have failed to change significantly. Having said that, I have to say that there were efforts but putting process and procedures are easy but changing the Malay minds and attitude is something else! Hence, the govt failed miserably in many attempts to change for the better.
Regarding the education system, you mentioned the private schools and colleges and I need to add that in this sector, our old traditional universities have done fairly well to adapt and compete but I somehow feel that there is still a big room for improvement.
I for instance have been looking for schools/colleges to offer individual classes for self improvement. It is near impossible! All colleges will require me to enroll into their degree programs otherwise I can’t get into any classes.
Why can’t schools have a more open system? All I want is 2 or 3 classes and I don’t need any degree. All I am after is knowledge! Can’t I take only Taxation classes or advance calculus? Sometimes you advance in your career and you need to add to your core competency and you need to take several classes to enable you to address new job scope hence this classes are excellent. This is just my “dua sen” lar.
I can’t thank you enough for Blogging my dearest Tun. Keep up the good work.

Salam Tun Mahathir,
Sehingga begitu sekali Melayu diperkotak-katikkan. Pelbagai liberalisasi sedang dilakukan.
Menteri-menteri kelihatan begitu lemah.
Mereka pun bukanlah pandai mana pun. Dahulu datuk nenek mereka memang pandai.
Salam.
Terima Kasih.
assalamualaikum buat ayahnda dan bonda Tun. semoga sentiasa di bawah lembanyung rahmat ALLAH swt..amin..apa yg dpt saya katakan…ayahnda Tun berdua such really good listener!!!!!…segala kata puji maupun sebaliknya, namun tetap ayahnda Tun terima dan terus memberi kata2 perangsang, tunjuk ajar serta penerangan yg jelas utk di fahami olih smua tanpa menunjukkan rasa kecilhati. sesungguh nya beginilah sifat seorang pemimpin yg HEBAT! terima kasih ayahnda Tun..
Dear Dr Mahathir,
I am glad to see you have received some proposals that you consider worthy of govermnmental consideration.
You are correct, there are proposals out there that could be of benefit to both Malaysia locally, and on occasion have the potential to have a wider positive global influence.
I sincerely hope you pass such proposals on to the approporiate people.
Thanks in advance!
John Mansfield
Selamat malam Tun,
Homosapiens are complacency.
Never like to have changes.
Dear Tun,
I think you need to be teaching this government because it seems to be lost.
We are having hollow sloganeering again, kow-towing to the red dot again, appointing someone who hardly has brains as an advisor to MAS and the economic corridors and more and more.
Same old, same old preaching, preaching but not practising.
People first but not in the case of Perak where it calls to be demonstrated.
I though the era of idiocy ended with Pak lah but alas, while the rest of Malaysians are in the 21st Century, the leadership is still in the 19th.
Best Regards,
Ataturk
Dear Tun,
Please continue to give your input as it is extremely valuable. Regardless of what blogs write about you, I know when I travel around the world and tell people that I am from Malaysia, I always get this response, ” Your country is lucky to have a leader like Dr Mahathir”. I heard this in Thailand, Indonesia, Egypt, Brazil, Argentina…
Malaysia lacks a leader of your calibre and that is why our progress has stalled… Please do something…
Warm Regards
A Malaysian Citizen who loves the country
Tun
Many Malaysians do learn from you –
1/ we have learnt that you are self serving, have selective memory about policies you introduced as a cabinet minister, then Prime Minister
2/ we have learnt you never believed in succession planning…truth be told, you resigned your PM post because you knew you had already had a good run of party and Federal elections…the bubble was about to burst and you exited at the right time
3/ we have learnt that you will salvage any state owned where you stand to gain or lose. This also extends to family interest enterprises…at the end of day, blood is thick
4/ we have learnt you still want to be “top dog” (pardon the expression). Yes you have retired. Yes you say you will not meddle with the Govt. But no, you have to influence every decision..why not, you were after all the longest serving Malaysian PM. 22 years in case you have forgotten…some can say add the last 5 years to the tally, given you still managed to pull the strings…
5/ we have learnt no one will actually know your net worth…why should they…transparency is something that you preached…did you practise it? What about Bersih Cekap Amanah…hey, catch phrase is great when you don’t have to practise it…
And you are most qualified to talk/write about Malaysia incorporated…how much did you personally gain from Proton, Perwaja, MDC/MSC? Was it all for the sake of country?
Can you be honest for once and declare you personal gains from all this?
(Ravi)
Note to select Tun’s supporters i.e. HBT, Jeng3, SamuraiMelayu…I appreciate your continued support for Tun…well, he is after all your idol, however blindly you worship him.
But don’t make racist remarks when you want chastise me for my criticisms (aimed at him)…I have my right to express my views…it’s not fair that you make your irresponsible references which is targeted at all your fellow Malaysians, just because you have to show you your anger at my continued feedback at Chedet.com
And if Tun publishes your irresponsible racial slurs, then he is as much responsible for your irresponsible behaviour…
Yg Amat Bhg Tun,
When we talk about the issue of education, I think the parents should know better than anyone else about what is the best education for their own children.
For instance, the Home Minister, Dato Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, had his daughter and son been sent to the International Schools for primary and secondary educations. His eldest daughter was then sent to Australia for further study in the university there.
Some children of Tun chose to go further study in the United Kingdom and some other children of Tun had the United States as their choice of tertiary educational destination.
Let us allow those parents who can really afford an overseas education for their children the total freedom to choose and decide on the best for their own beloved children. However, we must not let the top scorers of the public examinations be deprived of any chance to continue their further study simply because of the parents’ poverty and inaffordability. Let the Government help the poor but excellent students through the schemes of scholarships and study loans.
When the Federal Government has started to find that the financial burden for supporting the Bumiputera students to study overseas such as in the United Kingdom by way of scholarship offers or study loan offers is too heavy and certain agencies like MARA may no longer be able to sustain the study loan scheme, then the message is clear. It is advisable for Barisan Nasional Government to offer scholarship only and only to those Bumiputera students who really excel in their academic performance, no matter whether they are from the rich family background or from the poor family background. The scholarships should be made a reward only to the best and not just a candy to pamper the second best because of cronyism or nepotism. The rich should also be entitled a scholarship if he/she can really perform excellently. This is because scholarship is the best reward which is deserved only by the best in order to ensure the success in the system of meritocracy.
Whereas for the study loan scheme, it will be much better for the government agencies to set certain criteria, such as giving away study loan only to those who really need the loan due to poverty, provided always that the study loan applicants must first meet the basic requirement of doing excellently in their academic performance. It will be meaningless for the Federal Government to simply give away study loan to any Bumiputera individual without taking his/her academic performance into consideration, for the economic resources are always limited and the financial aids are usually scarce in the supply.
In order to save some foreign exchange losses from outflow due to high demand of tertiary education opportunities overseas, the Federal Government should indeed give a serious thought on the possibility of giving accreditation to some local private colleges and universities which show a track record of good quality standards and excellent academic performance. At least I see that Inti College has shown a much better students’ performance in the English Language Skill than many other government-operated local universities. New Era College of Kajang and Southern College of Kempas, Johor are also doing well in the Students’ performance in the Chinese Language Skill and in the Quantitative and Mathematical Skill when compared to many other government-run local universities in Malaysia. Therefore, the concept of Malaysia Inc. should start from the beneficial idea of giving accreditation to some private tertiary educational institutions of Malaysia because this is the best way to save huge amount of foreign exchange losses due to outflow when making remittance for purposes of paying for Malaysians’ consumption of foreign services in relation to overseas education.
hoping is okay if the people in the government has ears, eyes, & brain. They blatantly said the citizens are complacent and need to remove the subsidies. But yet can give bonus & royalty to the GLC GEOs by millions.daaaa..
Assalamualaikkum Dr.Mahathir & Dr.Siti Hasmah,
MAHATHIRISM IS NATIONALISM
1.Current world is in rapid Technology Revolution through ‘copying and benchmarking’ or improving.
2.’Copy and improve’ prevent time loss and ‘trial & error’ costs.
It need GREAT BRAIN.
So,nothing wrong in materializing other’s idea. As long Malaysia benefits.
3.You have become MALAYSIAN LEGENDARY PRIME MINISTER simply because you have selected great ideas carefully and materialized them daringly…in most of the cases you stood alone and DID IT YOUR WAY!
4.Many Malaysian including myself are copying your ideas and characters in may aspects. We’re successful and fruitful from that.
5.You are a moving library and very resourcefull.
6.The government should find ways to give you official post, so that improvements take place fast.
7.I hope MAHATHIRISM shall be a HABIT and part of every Malaysian to succeed. It should be cultivated in the youngs in schools.
I hope MAHATHIRISM don’t vanish by time.
8.MAHATHIRISM should be a NASIONALISM and Revolution!
Cheers!
Jeffry Suresh Bin Abdullah
HI Tun
If i take the last paragraph, it is looks like a appeal to govt to consider your opinion, or direct application for a job of consultant.
On the other items
it is very very broad and brash. even though i generally do not agree with you on many instances, i would be one of the first to say you do put a cogent arguement across
but however in this piece it looks a little all over the place , sini tada and sana tada”
on Malaysia Inc being revived , well as you are probably informed the new buzz word is 1MALAYSIA which we are still figuring out just like Islam Haldari . Malaysia Inc sudah lama and new boys have new slogans..
listening to rakyat who knows
, well a corporate figure who is closely to the govt of day told , who needs to listen, we just maklum kan kepada rakyat , dewan and then we proceed
Kecil tapak tangan, apa sajapun saya tadahkan”. )))))))))))))))))))))))
Tajuk: Cerita SKIM Cepat Kaya Piramid
Dear Tun
Malaysia Inc is a myth and both a misnomer and a contradiction in terms!
In South East Asia, S’pore started this concept first and then true to form, we copied it, without understanding the concept and its ramifications well.
If Governments really operated like private incorporated limited liability companies, then we would have gone bankrupt in 1997/98 in the wake of the Asian Currency Crisis and USA, UK and Europe should be filing for Chapter 11 Winding Up anytime now following the Global Economic Downturn!
The truth is private companies have to genuinely embrace meritocracy and exercise lot more restraint and prudence since they have limited access to funds. In a genuine Inc Govt, there will be no place for NEP, Ketuanan Melayu and skewed interpretations of Social Contracts.
Governments therefore have deep pockets and that is why UMNO/BN Govts since 1981-2003 have overseen some RM100 billion or more of wastage of taxpayers money due to corruption and poor planning. We are still sitting on some potentially explosive Inc wastages like PKFZ ($12 billion), Silterra ($5 billion) and Valuecap ($10 billion). The accountability has ranged from pathetic to appalling.
There is a simple dictum to follow:
It is not the business of Governments to be in business!

Macamana tu?
Harap2 pihak bertanggungjawab jangan ikut kehendak diri sendiri saja.

YABhg Tun Dr. M and all Chedet fellows
I immensely proud if Malaysia thrieve towards incorporated before Malaysia reach V2020. Malaysia still have not more than 10 years. What we can do in this time frame? Is incorporated can be achieved or it just an illusion and dash our dreams comes true.
The Japanese defeated in WW2. They lost everything after the U.S drop “FatBoy” the atomic bomb. But the Japanese people wake up towards incorporated. And now this millenium, Japanese nation fully incorporated. They just took not more than 50 years to achieved it. How about we? Malaysia Boleh!!!!!!
The German nation also get the same fate alike the Japanese nations. They too wake up without sighing alot or “MALAS.” The German nation spirit is loyalty to their motherland. Their motto “meine heiss treuer” or “loyalty is my honour.” When they hold this motto accompanying with fortitude and forbear, now they already achieved incorporated. German nations now economic player that always influenced the world.
In Malaysia context, may be it still consider hard. Its not easyto change the mindset of Malaysians particularly Malays and Bumiputeras. But if the current government also the same, Malaysia incorporated will be dash and just a dust in the making.
Towards Incorporated, we need courage. We need to sacrifice everything that put us under comfort zone. No more “Tongkat Sakti” from the government. United we stand together we fall. We emulate the German and the Japanese poeple courage and efforts towards incorporated.
I’ve a lot of German history and the Japanese whether in English or German. If Malaysia give me chance to speak out what these nations do towards incorporated, I’ll come forward to the stage.
Achieving Malaysia incorporated not totally for proud, arrogant, or fully secularism. Incorporated possesses the element of catalyst of “wake up” from long sleep.
Peoples, Government, Institution need to unity towards Malaysia incorporated.
Tun,
1. One can always learn from another’s successes or failures.
2. No need to re-invent the wheels, nothing wrong with plagiarism, as long it is customized to our own needs.
3. Passion in doing things.

Dear Tun,
It is true that the Goverment needs to listen better and that would enhance cooperation between all the parties to ensure things are successful. However what I am concern is that people are too busy with politics rather than our economy.
Is there any way we can make everyone to be more concentrated to manage the country rather than politics here and there. It has become like a drama.
In other country such as U.S, U.K and others, we have actors/actresses such as Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Shahrukh Khan are so famous but in Malaysia, our politicians are anytime more famous than most (if not all) the actors/actresses. The reason why could be just because we are too busy with politics?
Assalamualaikum
Tun & family,
You’re posting is very interesting as usual. More opportunities should be given in order to ensure our country moves forward. Many parties should always work closely together rather to make our country peaceful, harmony and economically robust.
I think this idea has been people talk for quite number of years already. there’s alot of comparison between government based service and private sector but seems like the government, i dont know maybe, too proud to listen to this kind of idea.
Hazman Abu Bakar
I have my personal opinion related to education now from than.
I agree with Tun that we need collabrate and listen to other sector as well But the teachers in government schools, nowdays are different from those who have teached us before.
The reason for that is because, many of them choosing the job not because they love teaching, they wnated to be a teacher because goverment job is secure, plenty of holidays, a lot of trainings, loans are provided and the best part is they are doing business in the schools it self. MLM products is sold even to students.
I didnt say allof them but majority of them are involved. The reality is when afew do it the rest will feel the heat aswell when it was addressed.
In order to improve our education system, we must first know how to employ those who will educate the students. we must have different approach while interviewing and the selection of teachers.
Government is paying tax payers money to them, not for them be at home for every school holidays. The goverment shall send all the teachers during this holidays instead of sending them during school period. What happen next is the class is unattended and sometimes the replacement teacher just be in the class and instruct students to do their own work.WHERE is the Quality of this Education?
We want every one to work hard for living, no one shall misuse it.
The Review of entire Education system is necessary but please dont over look at the information given above, my suggestion is
1) improve on the selection of teachers.
2) No more holidays except sat and sunday for teachers.
3) educating what required for future only, minimise the subjects as well.
thats all my comment, this is what i felt to write, i might be wrong , maybe i am looking from different angle, someone else could come with more specific ideas or comments. I am sorry if anyone is hurt with my comments.
Tun,
From my personal observation, the earlier Malaysia Inc concept involved a lot of give and take between private sector. The private sector takes up certain functions from the public sector and make good money along the way. On the other hand, the companies involved were obligated to give back to the social development agenda – including spreading the wealth among suppliers and contractors that otherwise not qualified to participate in the country’s wealth.
In the last few years, this practice is not practised. Even the GLC’s are focused in being more efficient in making money – thus our social agenda is put on the backburner.
As a result, during the good time when the country prospered, the wealth does not spread around. Instead, the big corporations and the select few only benefited.
Yes. Admittedly, the previous system was also not efficient. However, more people in the lower income group benefits. Yes, there were leakages but the leakages were among greater number of beneficiaries and according to classical economic theory – these people will spend in local economy and economic multiplier effect will ensure the country as a whole still benefits eventually.
Under current format, there continue to be leakages but they are among smaller number of beneficiaries – so less people benefits. Worse still, these larger corporations individuals tend to engage foreign contractors and consultants and the wealthy individuals spend their money overseas and purchase imported products. In economic terms, these caused leakages in the economic cycle – i.e. money do not get cycled within our economy.
Whilst we should continue to revisit the Malaysian Inc concept, we should also put more emphasis on the social agenda in ensuring fairer distribution of income.
Distribution of income, I personally believe, is much more important than the growth of total income. It will all boil down to empty stomach among the lower economic chain. Tun has once posted that many wars were fought for economic benefits. And history has shown us many time that empty stomachs are surefire recipe for social unrest and turmoil.
but first we must put an end to corruption. because these people will use the concept to their own gain
SALAM BAHAGIA TUN, TUN TIDAK NAMPAK KAH MALAYSIA SEDANG KEBELAKANG, PEMBANGUNAN MALAYSIA SUDAH ROSAK. TIDAK SAMA MACAM ZAMAN TUN LAGI, TIADA LAGI WAWASAN 2020, KERAJAAN MELAYSIA SEKARANG SEPERTI MILITAN JUNTA DI MYANMAR, SEBUAH NEGARA YANG KORUP, HARAP HARAP TUN DAPAT MENYELAMATKAN MALAYSIA.
Salam YABHG.

*NOT 2 BE SHOWN 2 PUCBLIC TUN.
Tun,
Ideas comes comes and goes and we should share ours ideas with others.

I do agree very much with you Tun. May Allah blessing you always. you’re the greatest ‘Negarawan’
Usually, when uni students like myself have a meeting to brainstorm a new project or to solve problems, the excuse would be…”No idea la” I guess its a culture in Malaysia.
We all should be more proactive in finding ideas to solve our problems. The government should look at private schools, the private schools should look at government schools. And don’t stop there. Look at other countries. If you say you have no idea, to me, it means that you are lazy…lazy to find inspiration. Look at your fellow colleagues, read books and blogs, google it and etc. Information is so accessible now. Use it.
Here’s one of my articles titled: 3 ways you can receive wisdom
http://beyonduni.blogspot.com/2008/08/3-ways-you-can-receive-wisdom.html
What Malaysia needs is people with solutions, not people with big mouths. Start working! You know who I’m talking about…
11. I am not presuming to teach the Government. But so many of those who saw me believe I can be of help that I felt I need at least to indicate that they have problems and perhaps ideas which the Government might look at.
