1. I am sorry if I angered anyone for pointing out that the millionaires (and billionaires) of Malaysia made their first million in Malaysia. I do not claim to have helped them. I accept that they did not need my help. In fact many made their pile before my time. What I was trying to point out is that Malaysia, not me, gave them the leg-up or head-start, setting them on their journey to wealth and riches.
2. I believe all these people cannot but accept this fact. They cannot deny that what I said is true. But I must acknowledge that at least one of them made his first million abroad through trading in oil. With that money he came back and built his empire through opportunities created by the country.
3. Facts are facts whether you acknowledge them or not. One need not be grateful for the facts, but still they are facts. I was just stating facts. If I offend anyone I apologise.
Tun
Your interesting topic on ‘Malaysian Millionaires’ is not only enlightening and thought provoking but also rightly pointed out the creation of these rare breed of people who are known as ‘ Millionaires ‘ by successive BN Governments especially your successful Administration of 22 years up to 2003. From this point onwards, the citizens’ wealth was apparently eroded away, slowly, slowly !
Any one who owns a house or dwelling plus his/hers EPF savings should be able to qualify. There should be no jealousy or shame in this term which illustrates actually the success of the individual who participated in normal work in our beloved country ! Not only that, we have families with successful grown-up children who now contribute to the largesse of the ordinary Malaysian working group. Of course, these people are most concerned with the apparent frittering away of Government public money which belongs to them. This unwarranted administrative misdemeanor of public funds must now stop in the interest of all. I am confident normalcy will return. And fervently hope this is only a small epidemic and not endemic !
With this interesting topic, I began to rummage through the dark recesses of my brain. To my surprise, snippets of the past came tumbling out of these recesses especially those concerning the many encounters with these rare breed of people known as the tycoons.
In 1982, I happened to be in Los Angeles and stayed at the Hotel Bonaventure which was next to the 60 storeys high ARCO Plaza. I looked up at the high tower and wondered what huge structures Man could build. Then, I enquired how long was the Wiltshire Boulevard and was told it was 23 miles long. A couple of blocks away would have meant driving for at least 30 minutes to reach one’s destination. The Santa Monica Highway was the ‘high street’ of Los Angeles. Everyone has to use it to reach another part of town. I was told the GDP of Los Angeles in 1982 was equal to Australia’s, 7th in the world. Now, she is still at 7th place but Australia has dropped to 10th !
I realized that big countries like the United States make big billionaires or millionaires and small countries like Malaysia make small billionaires or millionaires. This provocative thought put my mind in the proper perspective ! And it is only through the unity of her citizens that Malaysia can become great.
With the proper leadership and political will, Malaysia will be where she deserves.
I have to aggree with Tun, some of the richest might not realy feels or act like putting a lot of pride in 1 Malaysia… simply cannot sence the patriotism as Malaysia… might not able speak Bahasa Malaysia for some of them or their sibling…
For CNA, do you all realise, RM does not shown in the CNA currency update even though Singapore is one of Malaysia’s trading partner. Just observe, 99% issues about Malaysia shown in this Channel is the “BAD” stories about us…. simply anti Malaysia.
Massive Mega Infrastructure Development is the Main Solution for Malaysia problems.
Fear Mongering Trillion Dollar Debt isn’t gonna make it Gone.
Economic Growth is the Only Solution to make the Debt Gone.
BN should build HydroElectric Dams in Kedah, even the State Government is not BN.
Penang Second Bridge is being built just fine with DAP ruling the State. Giving them Scomi Monorail is not a bad thing to do.
Every State Should have Scomi monorail.
Sabah & Sarawak need High Railroads
Kuching Sarawak – Sandakan Sabah
East Malaysia already have Bakun Dam, now East Malaysia need Railroads. That’ll shut up the dissidents about high-unemployment & poverty there.
China already Making Bakun Dam, Penang Second Bridge, West-Malaysia Railroad. The would be glad to build East Malaysia Railroads.
West Malaysia need more HydroElectric Dam, Micro HydroElectric Dams, Scomi Monorails,
Build Few Micro HydroElectric Dams, Scomi Monorail in Kelantan, BN will surely win that State easy.
Wartawan, Ahli politik , Menteri sebagainya
Idea saya yg agak tak masuk akal untuk mengatasi Demo
Adalah jangan menugaskan Polis untuk mengawal Demo
Bukan kerana tidak tanggung jawab sebagai Kerajaan
Mungkin ia lebih berkesan
Sebab mereka yg demo ini hanya nak perhatian
Biarkan mereka penat sendiri
Biarkan sepanjang mana mereka nak berarak
Sebab ia seakan chemistry
Jika Demo bergaul dengan Polis
Maka memarakan lagi semangat mereka
Sebab akibatnya memporakan Negara
Menggangu kerharmonian ,economic ,menyebakan lagi kekecohan
Mereka TIDAK bolih dibiarkan melantang
Jika mereka berjaya
Apa selepasnya
Berkemundangan memporak perandakan Malaysia
Najib inilah masa untuk anda membuktikan sesuatu
Inilah akibatnya apabila bila kamu merendahkan kedudukan kamu
Kamu mesti berdiri tegak
Sebab tujuan rusuhan sebenarnya, motif sebenarnya
Pembangkang ingin memperlihatkan kesalahan Polis
Biarkan mereka bersiar, berkemah sebagainya
Asalkan mereka tidak merosakan harta awam
Tidak perlu kawalan Polis
Sebab itulah tujuan sebenar rusuhan
Mencari kesalahan Polis justeru kesalahan Kerajaan
Ini tujuan sebenar rusuhan
Lagi dilayan lagi menjadi
Sampai mana si perberontak bertahan
Dalam masa , modal mereka sebagainya kita lihatkan saja
Mereka akn penat snediri

Re BERSEH 3, had Ambiga, Anwar, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Eng Guan
Nik Aziz been Singapore Citizens…LKY would have put them underground long time ago.
Of course Singapore CNA, love BERSEH 3. Or for that matter STRAITS TIMES Malaysia correspondents Carolyn Hong, Leslie were awarded journalists of the year for whatever dirty news they can dig about UMNO/Malays or Muslims.
The reality is these journalist are insecure people and they are afraid to write anything negative about Singapore.
Dont be deceived by these insecure peoples’ agenda.
Asalam’kum Tun,
It is easy to forget once you are up there, thinking that it is their abilities which assisted them. If you put them in another country, one of our neighbours which just started to wake-up, I’m sure the story would not be the same. Sometimes, or rather most of the times, we forget how we got here today. It took a long, long time to get here but now there are oppositions who claim these successes as their making.
I know not many people will agree that the country’s economy growth is primarily due to the its stability. Those on the streets in KL yesterday did not contribute to it. They must know this before it is too late.
Dear Tun,
GLORY HUNTER
BERSEH 3 has once again proven that there is no such thing as peaceful political street demonstration, especially those taking part include opposition political parties members with vested interests like the infamous PKR, PAS and DAP.
DATUK AMBIGA, being a lawyer by profession, an ex President of Bar Council, apparently enjoys the popularity and lime light she is in. She even made a speech equivalent to the proverbial Mark Antony ‘My fellow Malaysians…lend me your ears…’
She is a glory hunter. Anwar Ibrahim, Nik Aziz and Lim Kit Siang are glory hunters. They are all not patriotic but self serving.

Dear Tun,
i found out that you almost quiet to comment for the current local politician. Nvmind, but one thing i would like to share with you …
I feel so sad and geram to see an article/story yesterday from internet regarding our local billionair, our local party politician and why massimo(bread) appreared in the market.
I dont know whether the story is true or not but really feel “SOMEBODY” too greedy and donnot know how to respect people(billionair). Politician and businessmen is totally two different categories. They can be closed to each other but each party do not try to control both categories.
Tun, now i know u really is a good politician because you clever to act as a politician and give heart to rakyat (at least i saw you do the big project and try your best to bring up Malaysia to international, not did rubbish like what they doing now).

5. Mereka perlu ketahui sejarah mereka. Janganlah mereka lalai. Keadaan mereka belum lagi sama kukuh dengan keadaan bangsa lain.
Salam Tun,
It is very difficult indeed when a very senior person apologizes. It puts one in an extremely awkward position whether to press on further or to yield to emotions.
We all know very well pursuing emotions will lead us all to eventual failure. Compassion, at humanitarian level, is a need, but at mass racial level seems to be a blank cheque for misdeeds and unjust behavior. This has led to many to believe it is their god given right to be an unjust human all their lives. And this philosophy of life is sanctioned by racial politics.
I do think it is time we throw this stale philosophy out of the window and replace it with true humanitarian values. But i also acknowledge we first have to recognize we are humans, i.e. an upright walking species with plenty brains, with some 97% of our grey matter not even utilized.
To this end, i am very sad to note the rich people of this country are light years away from recognizing us as humans. The super rich, they are okay, they are normally super intelligent and so they catch on humanitarian concepts quickly and easily, but the rich, especially those who acquire richness merely out of good ideas or contacts or race, rather than good service or products, have absolutely no clue about compassion and those with compassion are usually so misguided to the extent their compassion actually become a misdeed. They are extremely biased, unbalanced, to the point of shame at times. These are the millionaires our national and political system produces.
And which is why a focus on the rich and the successful does trigger a little irritation, and i humbly apologize for such a reaction. It is because when i engage a millionaire in a conversation, i expect an intelligent, balanced and fruitful discussion on ways to have a better quality life and environment, but i am usually disappointed.
It does make Tun Dr Mahathir stand out from among the very many statesman and politicians, but maybe i am expecting too much when i hope to have similiar quality discussions and blogs with hundreds of people the likes of you Tun.
For a start and an example Tun, a simple topic like “how can we get our rivers to be clean & fresh & with plenty of fish” will draw either a blank, a disinterest or a scorn. I guess people are more interested to know what D.S. Anuar Ibrahim does after office hours, as if what he does after office will enhance the quality of their life.
As such i surrender this arena called politics, i will leave it in the good hands of experts in this field. Until later Tun, for now my message is, we do not have quality millionaires. Period.
Thank You Tun

hendak saya beri contoh bagaimana kaum anda menjadi kaya? pakpandir, mungkin anda memang sebodoh gelar yg anda pakai tapi kebodohan anda bukan lesen untuk menyoal keperibadian Pemimpin-pemimpin kami sebab anda cuma orang asing saja.
terimakasih Tun

Salam Tun,
To Pak Pandir,
I would be angry if Tun’s sons end up poor when their father had masterminded the country’s wealth creation.
In the business world, people would be stupid not to appoint Tun’s sons to directorship positions on big conglomerates.
However let it be known that none of Tun’s sons were involved in politics in his time lest Tun be accused as creating a dynasty alike LKS-LGE or DSAI – NI.

Dear Tun,
There is a big difference between western billionaires and our Malaysian billionaires. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, the Google and Yahoo boys, Facebook bloke, Walmart, Ray Kroc (of McDonald), McMahon (of WWE Wrestling), Donald Trump and many others never got any help from their Government, or political leaders. That much I know. From that list of over 15 Malaysian billionaires, who do you think NEVER got any help whatsoever from the Government or yourself (as PM) or some other political leaders?
Lim Goh Tong was given the right by the Government to set up the Casino at Genting. The sugar king Kuok was given rights by the Perlis government to grow sugar, and destroy thousands of acres of forest land. The YTL family obtained bags of gold from their IPP, at the expense of TNB. Berjaya Vincent Tan was given so many things to get to where he is now. Ananda K was given the right to purchase the KL race course and develop the KLCC. The Chinese logging tycoons and towkeys were given hundreds of thousands of acres of forest land to chop down by the Sarawak government. One in particular was given even the Bakun dam to build. Not to mention those in Gamuda, IJM, Sunway, Muhibbah what have you, all were given big government contracts. That is not called Government support? Then what is it?
On top of all these they were also given Datuk-ship and Tan Sri-ship.
I for one, and I know many others, don’t give much respect to these so called “self made” Malaysian billionaires, who as everyone knows, did not get there if not for the kind Government support. And now they want to deny the Government support? Fact is fact.
I am not against riches and acquisition of wealth, if that is the outcome of real hard work, brain power and smart ingenuity of anyone. But here in our land, opportunities are plenty, but the road to the first billion always lie at the footstep of the person or persons who will say yes.
I will wait for the day when a Malaysian produces a world market product with his bare brain and hands, and gets his first billion from there, then I will change my mind
YABhg Tun,
…touchyyyyyyy!!! Angry…???? You’ve not even touched on the Malaysian poor….
YABhg Tun,
Some……through your privatization policy,sir…..??
How many millionaires and billionaires and how much more BR1M in the coming years, Chedet?
The US is a bankrupt country but for their NATO.
Are you so into money and gold, Chedet?
Or Halal Trade?
Salam Tun,
These ungrateful people can never accept the truth. They will say they had earned all that through hard work, the fact is.. to put it simply, it is the government’s policy which had provided them the opportunity to excel and succeed unlike some countries where the minority or certain race is not given equal opportunity . This is something no one can deny.
Joshua Lopez says ‘If that individual ever remained in the country, that individual would have never found success, wealth, fame and recognition from Malaysia. Tun had already stated all the facts so what fact are you talking about. I say Joshua Lopes is a dumb-ass.
Dearest YAB Tun,
There is no need to apologize Tun. Facts are still FACTS.
Those who work hard in Malaysia can never be poor.
Thanks Tun.
*** May Allah SWT bless Tun and family ***
Salam Tun,
Dear Tun,
You do not need to apologize because what you stated are facts whether one likes it or not.
It is hard to imagine the many millionaires and billionaires would be who they are, if not for the growth of the nation.
Having said that, there are many in UMNO who became rich because the people believed in them as leaders.
A good example is Khir Toyo.
I am not sure if he feels that he ever owed it to the people.
How many more who are similar to him in UMNO ? You know better Tun.
I know you are retired and its Najib’s time now, but as you mentioned facts are facts.
Sometimes we have to swallow the facts to make amends. I hope in a significant way you can lead the way Tun. My opinion, Najib and Muhyiddin is not doing a good job in that sense. They worry too much about losing when the fact is they should focus on why they are worrying about losing.
I attended a course by ex-officer of the IMF. He pointed out how lucky Malaysians are because we are in Malaysia. Grateful to be Malaysians.
Dont worry if you are stating the truth sir. Forget about these over-sensitive people. If they cant handle the truth then let them stay within their imagination.
Tun.
It is no use to declare a fact is a fact. Why. Bcoz they love spinning.
They will said u help ur son this and that. They all like ahli kitab.
Especially PAS. They acted like ahli kitab. Bukti depan mata, still ask some more. Sama macam org nasrani – ahli kitab.
Saya harap ahli ahli pas sedar supaya mereka tidak tergolong dlm kumpulan nasrani. Kalu tak caya baca surah surah didalam Al-Quran. Cuba bandingkan ahli ahli kitab -org nasrani dan org PAS. Sebijik sama.
no need to apologise Tun,
You are an inspiration for all Malaysians.
Thank you for helping make Malaysia what it is today !
For your vision 2020 it would be great
as we countdown to the year, each year keep the
vision clear for a better Malaysia for all.
Kuih
Dear TUN don’t ever say that word again. Why must TUN apologise. Pls don’t. You are always right.
Salam Tun,
1. I’m one of the millionaire, working with ZERO support.
2. I don’t need to blame anyone.(bank,politic,whether, earthquake)
3. Complaint just come from poor (attitude, religion, patient, spirit and ect.) people.
Thanks Tun, even i don’t get any loan and rejection from all my application.
The peculiar thing about Malaysia is, She tends to recognize Malaysians who have made it big overseas. If that individual ever remained in the country, that individual would have never found success, wealth, fame and recognition from Malaysia. This is a fact. There were never openings here for those who made it big overseas. Even ordinary citizens who migrated are mostly having better quality of life overseas, better education for their children and better welfare at old age.
Tun
Even though that we think that multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires are the results of a country’s socio-economic progress which they have contributed much by their efforts, we normally view these exceptional persons in an abstract manner. There are not many of us who had close encounters with this rare breed of men and to meet their progenies is even more difficult. But by chance, in my ramblings and wanderings, I crossed paths with them due to the fact that our beloved country is small and not too long ago, Malaysia and Singapore were one political socio-economic unit.
As I always say that in our small country, we are either good friends or related – hence the intensity in all things especially politics which have become very personal in nature !
The following fables and foibles of these multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires were garnered by me over a life-time :-
1. This Baghdad Jewish tycoon from Singapore once told me after we had taken over a public listed company when I was young and naive, and was still wet behind the ears and maybe I did not know how to ask for a commission , ‘ I like you because you are a nice young man. Do not be jealous of Tan Chin Tuan, the Shaw Brothers and Robert Kuok. They are people of their time. They are history. You should do your own thing whatever it is and do it well. You will finally arrive at your destination. ‘ From then onwards, I vaguely followed his advice. Many decades later and a few months before he died, I turned up in his office and showed him by curriculum vitae. He exclaimed in his usual off-handed manner,
‘You are a big shot ! ‘ I replied ‘ I just followed your advice. No more, no less ! ‘
2. This tycoon and the Japanese governor of the island were buddies during the Japanese Occupation. After the World War 2, his friend returned to visit him and offered the tycoon any franchise he so desired.
The pragmatic tycoon replied, ‘ Sorry ! I am now President of the British Malaya Association. ‘ In business, one has to be pragmatic.
3. Within two weeks of my friend leaving the office, the tycoon rang me up and said, ‘ I give you 2 weeks to resign or else I call an EGM to throw you out. ‘ As a non-executive director of this important company, I had always considered myself a trustee in the interests of all the shareholders. I only wanted the company to do the best that was possible and available. And of course, I knew the intentions of this particular tycoon whose specialty was to sell the assets of public listed companies cheap, cheap to his cronies. Accordingly, I resigned without a murmur. I do not fight when I am in the valley, and true enough, the best property gems were soon sold privately at cheap cheap prices.
4. My Singaporean tycoon friend told me that if a banker took me to the top of the Hotel Mandarin and proposed that he could finance me to buy anything I could see right up to the horizon, I should be very careful because he probably carried a big knife behind his back.
5. I had a proposal which was innovative and creative. I had to approach this tycoon who controls a vital business which I required to take-off. His replied through his right-hand man was ‘ it is unacceptable.’
6. I was very keen to pass on the biggest corporate scandal in the 1970s which I had just turned around. I invited this new kid on the block for lunch at the Kuala Lumpur Hilton. He had just come down from the hills.
He told me in no uncertain terms, ‘ I like a company with a clean slate.’ I learnt something new that day. Then, I understood what he meant when he began to pick the gems at cheap cheap prices out of a conglomerate and told the media that I helped him. I was a bit late in consulting this famous lady lawyer across the Causeway who told me that I was a non-starter. From this episode, I learnt a new word ‘ non-starter ‘ often used by lawyers !
7. I had to approach a tycoon who had an important business which I need to do a joint venture with for my proposed business to take off. I had known this particular tycoon since he was wearing short-pants. During the conversation, the tycoon raised his finely manicured hands to the sky like a Roman emperor and with gleaming white teeth exclaimed, ‘ You know my father a minor civil servant had only a small plot at Batu 15, Kuala Lumpur. But now……raising his hands towards those gleaming towers.’ I thought in my mind, it is only fair that he should be compared with my father, and myself with his son. It is like comparing chalk and cheese as the English say.
8. ‘Ooh, Ooh my baby ‘ said this tycoon to a little baby cradled in the arms of a female member of an important political family after marching past me who knew him since 1965 ! It is important to have good personal relationships with important people in one’s career as a tycoon.
9. At 2.30 p.m. my telephone of pre-war vintage rang. The personal assistant to this very important minister was on the line. ‘ What can I do for you Mr Tan.’ I said. Mr Tan replied, ‘ This person wants you not to be too rough in your take-over of this particular company or else….. ! ‘ Without hesitation I replied ‘ Tell him, I am not a trouble-maker and only interested in doing business.’ From this event, I learnt about the art of compromise. It was a sensitive time for the buddies who were at the point of launching their empire which they never looked back.
10. This media tycoon called me to his office. I waited one hour before I was called in to meet him. He dismissed me curtly without a cup of tea and said. ‘ You do not vote against Dato……’. Of course, I did not vote against the good Dato because I could see the forthcoming suits which would arrive on his desk like confetti. And by the way Tun, the media tycoon is now taking a bus-man’s holiday !
11. I asked this Singaporean tycoon why he had the whole range of annual reports of the listed companies of the Kuala Lumpur Singapore Stock Exchange on his shelves. He astutely replied, ‘ For S$ 1000, I had the benefit of the Chairman’s review of business and a chance to make money as well !’ What a wonderful way to make money ! No wonder he became a billionaire soon afterwards.
12. The Singaporean tycoon pointed out to me that in every major city of the world, the buildings owned by the banks and the insurance companies were the biggest and the tallest. On this premise, he bought the shares of these companies. And in time, he became a billionaire. Who says one has to have a monopoly to make money ? With our eyes, we should see and not look !
13. The tycoons were squatting outside their newly purchased shophouses trying to figure out what to do with them. A Japanese walked up to them and said that he would like the shophouses for his franchise. From then on, the lucky recepients never looked back and became tycoons of a new business empire.
14. This fortunate gentleman was tinkering with his bicycle with a screw-driver. A Japanese walked pass and told him that he was the lucky recipient of a franchise and took him to Tokyo to affirm it. How lucky can a person get as illustrated by these two amazing business tales of derring-do !
15. My friend the tycoon cycled all the way from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur with only a Straits Dollar and a screw-driver in his pocket to become a tycoon. We were good friends because as a boy wearing short-pants I followed my brothers to play tennis at the tycoon’s father’s Cairnhill mansion !
And many multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires have said either their fathers were rubber tappers, padi farmers, lorry drivers etc. But I have not come across one who claimed his father was rich.
Decades ago I have come across tycoons who made their fortunes from the export of tropical fishes and orchids. The latter industry is particularly interesting because the orchids only needed water and sunshine and a touch of fertiliser to produce money as it matures.
The first generation of multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires created wealth from ideas and hardwork. The second generation finds it more difficult and had to work doubly hard when their forebears treated hardwork as the norm. The third generation definitely has to work three times harder to serve a much larger family and stiffer competition.
I agree with you Tun, given all things being equal, everyone has a chance to become a multi-billionaire or a multi-millionaire in Malaysia.
A person has to start young.
may be Tun should publish the list of millionaires and how they made their 1st million …
but Tun please don’t miss out your son in the lists ya …
Salam Tun.
I do not agree to Tun’s apologetical ways.
Some of those tycoons may have voiced their personal dissatisfactions but they should not become big-headed.
If this attitude remains unchecked, they may behave like the chaebols and start to dictate all aspects of Malaysian life, especially (and most worrying) in politic.
Assalamualaikum Tun.
Terima kasih Tun.
Tun
I feel it is exciting to be a Malaysian in the face of all the earth-shattering news which have befallen our beloved country these days. Sanity shall prevail ! Normalcy will return !
Like you Tun, I like more people to be rich. But unfortunately, most people think that money creates money. They also think that the more they take the more they make. This has proven wrong in every case even in Wall Street !
Those who think that ideas make money are the tycoons we know of as mentioned by you previously.
If for example, the many people made rich by your 22 year Administration think that ideas make money and not money makes money, the Government would have less burden to carry today.
How many of these fortunate people realised that if they have saved RM 300,000 from their work during your 22 year Administration, they actually would have been worth RM 1 Million and much more by now ? The reason was that for every RM 100,000, a person could have invested in a property worth RM 300,000, for another RM 100,000 invested in equities worth RM 300,000 and the balance either in a Proton motorcar or kept in reserve. And I am not talking about all the special incentives so created by your Government, Tun !
It is time for our citizens to think in a factual manner what happened in terms of benefits during the successive Governments leading up to your 22 year Administration. This was the benefit which might not be in so specific terms but it was the benefit each working person would have gained during the past decades until 2003. This was when it was so important to have a caring and responsible Government governing the power pyramid at the top so that the goodies would flow down to the proletariat at the bottom. This was successful right up to 2003 but dried up thereafter !
And we must not be misled by those who tout the beauty of the meritocratic pyramid which is based on money and academic qualifications. This has shown to be entirely academic and failed miserably to the utter embarassment of these smart folks. They did not understand why they failed. There was even a book written about the failure of genius in the 1990s ! The reason is that are thousands of smart folks and if the smartest failed, the whole lot failed. From the 1980s to the 1990s the smartest fellows in the West joined the financial services. After the crash of 2008, the leading industrial countries of the West are still trying to avoid a calamitous down-turn ! Of course, the smart folks know exactly what happened ! This type of thinking is only applicable to managing a university in which the best brains prevail – certainly, not in the serious matter of running a Government which looks after a population in which 99% are ordinary folk !
This is the one big difference !
This was your formula to the success of your Premiership and to top it off, even your detractors are multi-millionaires if I am not mistaken !
Your success in the creation of the middle-income group of Bumiputras and the expanded group of non-Bumiputras more or less was concomitant with the 2-child policy adopted by Singapore. It was officially announced a few days ago that only a judicious immigration policy would mitigate the shortfall of the non-existent natural born Singaporeans being experienced the last few years – a yawning gap !
The facts are that Malaysia being a small country now has a fairly large middle-income group of citizens which were lop-sided and non-existent in the past. Thanks to your efforts to provide this ballast for peace and stability ! But of course, there are now demands for more of everything. And I am optimistic that with a normal and proper approach all these will be fulfilled given our resilience and intellect and the practice of humanity and multiculturalism by the successive Governments and the Royal Sultans of yore.
Of multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires, there hangs the tale !
Salam hormat Yg Bhg Tun,
MALAYSIAN MILLIONAIRES
I did not blame North Korea
For their Military Built Up
Even at the expense of their people hunger
If they did not do so
United States will hit on them
United States will bully and will take a ride on North Korea
Despite all those nice words speeched and assurance
Given by United States spokesman
One can see how United States tried to instigate China and Soviets to interfere
As such will cause frictions and United States will be shield
Using others life to shield their fears
Dear Tun,
I am sure some of them would like to play it safe, to be political fence sitters, so to speak, just in case Pakatan Rakyat capture PUTRAJAYA. THESE billionaires, may be not all, are truly ungrateful, would argue that it is solely due to their ability, dismissing totally the conducive economic environment in Malaysia for them to be billionaires.
Patriotism is a virtue, much like friendship(setia kawan), loyalty, courage and kindness. It is a hereditary trait, but I suppose it can be inculcated.
