MALAYSIA'S GENEROSITY

1. The Edge Financial Daily, an article by Joseph Chin (The Edge, April 22nd) as well as Brunei Times reported a substantial oil producing offshore area in the South China Sea, namely Block L and Block M, were no longer a part of Malaysia.

2. Malaysians and the Malaysian media did not ask how this came about. It would seem that the loss of a huge oil producing area that had apparently belonged to Malaysia is okay.

3. Block L and Block M had been claimed by Malaysia based on historical facts. Accordingly, Petronas entered into a production sharing contract with Murphy Oil to start drilling to produce oil. It is estimated that the reserves amounted to almost 1 billion barrels.

4. Abdullah Badawi negotiated with the Sultan to get back Limbang in Sarawak. In return he agreed to surrender the two blocks to Brunei. No Petronas representatives were present, only foreign office staff and the foreign affairs adviser to the PM.

5. As we all know Abdullah triumphantly announced that he had settled the Limbang claim with Brunei (here). No mention was made of the two blocks.

6. Brunei disclaimed (here) that they had agreed to give up Limbang. The foreign office and Abdullah did not rebut Brunei’s statement.

7. Now it is made clear that the two blocks are no longer a part of Malaysia.

8. Abdullah has caused Malaysia to lose at least US100 billion dollars (about RM320 billion) of Malaysia’s oil in this agreement.

9. Can Wisma Putra please explain why it did not stop Abdullah.

Bukan kebijaksanaan orang Bru… tapi kebodohan pemimpin kita

  2. Tun, kindly permit me to address a misconception raised by one of your supporters – troy_dire
    troy_dire
you are off the mark on 2 points
a/ Tun M has on a mumber of national interest topics has decided instead of calling a referendum. Do you need me to call out the specific items, or rather do some checks yourself?
b/ Tun Abdullah understood that it will be costly for us to continue to maintain this position that these “blocks” of water are “owned” by Malaysia, as well this landmass called Limbang. Rather than spend an eternity arguing with one of our closest and supportive neighbour, it was with the consensus of Cabinet he finalised the terms with the Sultan of Brunei.
At the end of day, the question of Limbang was prevalent during Tun M’s time as PM – he has yet to share what the internal discussions were with his cabinet and then Foreign Minister, Abdullah Badawi. I guess you have 5% of the story and not the “behind-the-scenes” hence your agro with Tun Abdullah. If you so care for facts and accuracy, why dont you ask your beloved Tun M for details on how this issue has protracted?
Note one thing – Tun Abdullah being the gentleman just gave explanation to the point raised on Malaysia’s financial loss, not the historical discussions. If you so think Tun Abdullah has overstepped his boundary, then why don’t you ask Tun M to file a case against Tun Abdullah? If he so does think injustice has been done, shouldn’t he be taking this up with the courts. What does he intend to achieve by just writing about this?

  3. Dear Tun, After reading a Tale of Two Oil Blocks by Leong Shen Li in the Star today I think Tun Abdullah is not all that stupid. If the info is correct it is very obvious that these two blocks are in Brunei’s territory and just by making a claim on it doesn’t make it ours. But it does make difficult for anyone to benefit from it until ownership is resolved. So by agreeing to negotiate the surrender, Malaysia still managed to get something out of it.It would be a different story altogether had the matter been taken directly to The Haque,we may get nothing. Now we’ve got three ; 1. Petronas allowed to jointly exploit the resources in the area for forty years, 2. Brunei to drop its claim on Limbang and 3. the goodwill to strengthen the relationship with this already good and important friend whom Malaysia can always depend upon in its time of need.I think its a Win-Win non issue thing that you should just let go,spare Tun Abdullah, stop feeding the opposition for the upcoming Sibu by-election,and be happy!Life is short!Love you nonetheless.

  4. Very glad to have Tun leading our country in the previous years with vast knowledge and brilliance. It is important wo have leaders who knows what he is doing and know how to maintain stability. Leaders and civil servants who only wish to have power but doesn’t know what to do or how to do his job should resign from serving the people.

  5. A HUMBLE RESPONSE TO ARTICLE BY LEONG SHEN-LI IN THE STAR 9 MAY 2010: A TALE OF TWO OIL BLOCKS
    Dear Mr. Leong,
Thank you for your article on the above matter published in The Star today.
I hope you can sleep well and be in peace after telling the entire nation and agreeing with Tun AAB’s administration that they made the right decision in regard to the Malaysia-Brunei dispute. And for insinuating and influencing the people that Tun Mahathir is actually a trouble maker when what he only has the best interest of Malaysia at heart.
Tun Mahathir may be famous with his “dictatorial” leadership but one thing for sure, he would never decide on matters that is not for him to decide. Question on country’s sovereignty, question on people’s future resources and legacy, question on maritime and land areas. Because it’s not for him to decide, because if any, it is for the people to decide. And in the case of Tun Mahathir, he let the international law to decide, hence, the Batu Puteh and Sipadan Ligitan case being brought before the ICJ. And even if ultimately Malaysia loses, at least the people know that Malaysia has done its very best to defend. And the people know that Malaysia fights till the end.
But who is Tun AAB to decide that in the case of Malaysia-Brunei dispute, Malaysia will certainly lose if the case if brought before international tribunal. Who are you to also have a similar perception. Who is Wisma Putra’s officials to decide for the country that Malaysia could have never owned the areas in the first place.
Just ponder this, if Brunei is in such a strong position, then why it had never attempted to challenge or simply bring the case unilaterally before the law of the sea tribunal the moment it became signatories to UNCLOS long long time ago after the dispute broke out in 1980. If you read UNCLOS, you would appreciate that there is an avenue for one country to bring unilateral action against the other (which is different from bringing a case before the ICJ where consent of both claimant states would be required). If Brunei itself it not as confident, I do not understand why does Malaysia have to give up so easily.
You claimed that unlike the Malaysia-Vietnam and Malaysia-Thailand arrangement, this Malaysia-Brunei arrangement is unique. Is it really? The two earlier arrangement may not be unique but at least it doesn’t compromise on any country’s sovereignty, and at least they apply the principles as understood by international law, that while implementing any joint development or commercial arrangement on utilization of resources, the question of sovereignty is parked aside for a while. But in the case of Malaysia-Brunei, is it really a case of commercial arrangement, is it really a case of joint development? Sovereignty is already pre-determined, leaving Malaysia as nothing but a slave working/operating in other sovereign country. You have already acknowledged Brunei’s sovereignty so you are at its mercy at all times. And most importantly, again, who is Tun AAB, you or Wisma Putra official to decide what is best for Malaysia, eg.that 40 years is the right duration, that Malaysia’s share from the “commercial arrangement” is the right one. Tun Mahathir certainly wouldn’t because this is not for him to decide, apart from him realising that this is not the best deal for Malaysia. Hence I do not understand that you find it shocking that there was no breakthrough in negotiations during Tun Mahathir’s time.
And with whatever little Brunei is getting from the value of the oil and gas resources, I am sure that it is enough for it to simply concede or “compromise” (using the term used by you), to Malaysia on the question of Limbang (free of charge).
Anyway, you have decided to publish a one page big write up on the matter representing (if not intending to convince) to the whole nation and the people who are inheriting this deal, decided “unilaterally” by Tun AAB and his administration and Wisma Putra’s officials, that the deal is a right deal. I hope your conscience is clear and I hope you will take full accountability for those who find comfort and believe in you, because in my humble opinion, of all the border disputes that Malaysia has with its neighbouring countries, this is the one that Malaysia should have fought all the way or let the international law to take its course.

  6. It’s sure is a waste.
Former PM may not want people to disagree with him on exchanging back the limbang for Sarawak.
Maybe he thought people wouldn’t know the secret on how he successfully taken Limbang back for Sarawak.
And now all is settle for MORE THAN A YEAR(SECRET SOME MORE) then we know what is going on.
Hope the government will be sure hoe to deal with this.
People are very worried on losing so much money. It’s Sabah’s property land!!
How can He gave the land to Brunei without even mentioning it to the parliament or even discuss with our people??

  7. salam…
memang pak lah dah salah..tapi jangan lupa najib TPM waktu tu..apa depa buat..menteri buat pa..tido ka?

  8. I am wondering why this matter was not forwarded to the International Court of Justice for settlement as in the case of Pulau Batu Puteh. When negotiations of this nature are involved between two friendly governments, there will always be suspicion of double dealings, even if one gets the best deal, because of its subjective nature. The secrecy with which Abdullah Ahmad Badawi handled the matter only helps to aggravate the suspicions. I wonder how anyone can have such great powers but it does make a mockery of democracy, given that even the Prime Minister is, at the end of the day, just another wakil rakyat, or am I wrong? Seems like he thinks that he is a sultan, LOL.

‘Kebodohan’ Barisan Nasional juga sudah semakin terang lagi Bersuluh…Malaysia will never have a brilliant leader like you, but don’t we deserve somebody that is not as dumb as we have now, up to this date. everything is always about how to please other country not their own. sangat mengecewakan.

  10. I read with interest Avatar’s comment about “What the Chinese want?” Without government assistance, most Chinese are still better off than the Malays even after decades of affirmative action. And this has been a sore point in Malaysian politics. What then is the solution?
No Malays ever complain about the Indians. Well, I guess the only solution is for the Chinese to work less hard so that the Malays can catch up. The Malays can never be happy until the Chinese are as poor as the Indians in general. I guess the 8 Chinese tycoons mentioned should give up their citizenship for the sake of interracial harmony in Malaysia. Why stay when you are not appreciated, especially so when you will readily be embraced by almost any other country in the world. They should take the cue from Robert Kuok. Now that the Lim Goh Tong family has a substantial stake in the Singapore casinos, it should sell off Genting to the Malays and let them run it. Let’s close the Genting casino so that we can move one step closer towards Islam.

  11. Salam Tun
Patah kata orang Tionghua..”TAICHI”. Tak habis2 attitude dan habit Taichi PakLah ni… Hancur hati Rakyat!
    Maaf Tun

  12. Salam Tun & respectable CheDet’s fellow bloggers,
In order to support those claim that we should be Malaysian first and “race” 2nd, I would try to put a litmus test for everybody to agree that we should have a single education system, the best that can be. Reason? we can only achieve this status/result through interaction of all “races” at their young age through schools. This is to develop a genuine feeling of understanding and respect of each other as Malaysian.
Sorry to say, if no agreement to this, than Malaysian is only a dream, only a word that will be used as political rhetoric in every election to win racial vote, that’s all.
The “elders” brains cannot be easily reprogrammed to accept that. Logically, it would be much easier to start from young. Proof? Can we enjoy the beauty & granduer of Putra Jaya if we were to develop K.Lumpur to achieve the same thing? Not only it will cost more but the desired result may not be or correctly said, can never be achieved. Therefore, PutraJaya was developed from the scratch as “how best to create Malaysian” that’s at their young age. I could not think any better way. Anyone?
Of course, there would be more aspects to be looked into for further development but developing and having a single schooling system would be a good start for consideration to adopt and implement. This national integration project therefore should be considered as the utmost important landmark that could be a crucial turn point in Malaysian history. I for one and perhaps many would agree to this. We have gone this far let us look & go forward rather than dwell over the past. The “elders” should allow the “youngs” to decide.
    May Allah bless us all.

  13. Salam Tun
I believe as usual the Malaysian Govt will be silent on this matter or will not sincerely and openly disclose all the facts. Pak Lah had already come up with a written statement but that statement admitted that the rights to the 2 block had been given to Brunei. Pak Lah than tried to alleiviate or lessen the importance of the matter by saying that at least Petronas is able to commercially share oil-production with the Brunei Govt on the 2 blocks for the next 40 years. I dunno what to say about this man. Remember we have already lost Pulau Batu Puteh under him. I am tired of how BN has been running Malaysia all this time. The massage parlours and beer producing factories, and Yahudi style banking and Western hedonism are still there and so is Genting’s casino which rakes in RM1 billion profits annually. And yet still claims that this is an Islamic country. I am not saying that PAS has the experience to run the country but we must first have somebody ready to champion Islam and implement Islamic laws in our country in order to prosper.

  14. I am pleased to note you have brought up the question of Malaysia having given up the 2 oil producing offshore areas, namely blocks L & M, to Burnei. Pak Lah has replied to say that there was a requirement that Brunei was to allow Malaysia to explore oil and gas in these 2 blocks but on commercial terms. This means Malaysia is treated like any other major oil company in the world.
I hope you can pursue this subject so at least we can get a fair deal from Brunei.

  15. Asalamualaikum Ayahnda Tun & Bonda,
    please allow me again,
someone blamed Tun for awarding the direct-nego-contracts to some contractors in developing all these – NS Highwy, Petronas Twin Towers, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, InventQ Jaya, KLIA, KL Tower, PSC Naval Dockyard…etc, etc
    my question:
should you not be thankful that you too can make use of all these immediately after they’re completed, along with all malaysians & visitors from all over the world??
if we were to wait for more negotiations, i believe these projects will still be on their way till now because of indiciveness…it’s good that Tun has made it that way. many of the rakyats have also gotten the benefits directly & indirectly while the projects were being developed. my ex-students, some architects & engineers, consultants for some builders & suppliers, worked proudly during those days to accomplish their tasks…
other than bailing out those companies, had anyone got any better idea to deal with the recession problems? could the government only see the collapse of many many companies & watch the unfortunate thousands & thousands of these companies’ workers suffer when they were out of jobs??? what if some of them were our relatives or friends or people from our village? would we bear the greater loss? had you not seen how many people took their own lives because of the downfall? did you not see how many families broke down because of unbearable consequences??
you might have not suffered the impact during those days due to your young age or might be your parents were very rich so you did not feel the hardships…you have been harping on the bailing as if you were hit directly at that time. plaese be fair to others who went through tough times bearing the effects…tqvm Ayahnda for your concerns. days & nights you didnt sleep to counter the problems while your mischievious deputy tried very hard to play down your efforts…
please dont take credit for yourself for belittling Tun. when you dont have anything to offer, please dont just condemn.
and thank God that ISA was used to curb the unknown…since now we know their true colour
    to Datukmanis 8.24pm,
you’ve put in a very handsome idea about Tun’s decision. people have often put the total blame on Tun alone….i never see it that way. Datukmanis has made it easy for many to understand things…tq
May Allah SWT bless Ayahnda Tun & Bonda and all of us.
    Wassalam.
    just my brain wave…

  17. Dear Tun,
Lord Denning said “those who seek equity must come with clean hands.” In response to your call for all these deals to be made public, may be you should take the first step and clarify all the hidden deals that arose during your time. The numbers are quite staggering, and it is impossible to write about it in 1 posting. I believe an author made a book about it, so perhaps you should clarify all those allegations with facts then it is right for others to respond to your allegations.
By the way, the RM 300 billion figure is a grossly inaccurate. Economics, value and money were never your strong point. Unfortunately, apart from command and control, there wasn’t much else.

  18. Salaam Tun,
AN AMICABLE SOLUTION, otherwise, why not bring this matter to ICJ? Sama seperti case Batu Putih Spore.

  19. Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Kaya. Jangan menang sorak kampong tergadai.

  20. Kalau dilihat sejarah,Pahlawan Melayu Hang Tuah bukanlah
Datuk Moyang Kita.Maka perlu kita bendung anak cucu kita dengan
    ilmu dunia dan akhirat.

  21. Tun,
After reading these issue, don’t you think that the Govt agencies shld really be independent to prevent such despicable & corruptible action by a Prime Minister?
Whats worse is tht when foreign Govts get to know our problems, they will all laugh at our incompetence

  22. Tun,
As a normal citizen and an adviser to Petronas, you have written a valid article worth reading. You are now “marah” with a person who had sold our country reserves and resources. On your basis, I wonder how UMNO can have such “immature” Prime Minister who sells our country and have done nothing good or effective to us citizens.
Congrats Tun for getting angry at someone not based on race. Pls call a spade a spade, based on merit.

  23. What more is there to be said?
Malaysia is being generous in the wrong way. I feel it’s high time we put a stop to all of this. Who is going to answer all of these blunders to our coming generations?

  24. Tun,
Can it be a one man decision to let go any of wilayah to another country just like that? needn’t to get approval from the Ruler?
System has problems. It should not be this easy to let go of a part of country. DS Najib has to do something on this.
Besides, Kulupuli (May 2 2010 at 1.09am) expressed his sadness on sharing country with Chinese and Indian. I understood this not majority Malays view because I have alot of Malay friends who some of them treat me like their brother. Again DS Najib have long way to go on 1Malaysia concept succession.

  25. Malaysia sounds Malay is always on the losing end.
    No Chemistry among the Government.
Needs more educated people to come forward.
Malaysia does not need to compete with others
BUT needs to secure what is has, unable to secure the future is very risky and will be disaster to future generation.
Malay leaders should talk less, think more.
Must not allow foreign politics to take Malaysia for a ride.

  26. Asalamualaikum Tun,
Malaysia Take One and Brunei Take Two.
Personally, I don’t mind losing 2 blocks of oil reserve as LAND (Limbang) is far more expensive. Of course, RM 320 Billion is a LOT of oil money! Phew! Perhaps, losing 2 blocks is still a small price to pay.
Then again, I understand Tun frustration, maybe, if only our leader that time was strong, he would figure out a better deal with Brunei, obviously Pak Lah needs to please Sarawakians (and Malaysia) at that time. But Brunei and Sarawak has always been in a good relationship (all this time) if compared to Peninsular and Singapore. I can’t understand why Pak Lah had to pull out very expensive stunts like that for publicity! Yikes! RM 320 Billion! That value does not justify to Malaysians at all! Pak Lah and his so-called advisers should be dragged to the court of justice! I wonder why Ketua Menteri Sarawak is keeping quiet too? I thought everything going on at Sarawak must go through Sarawak state government. Something is very fishy here…

  27. Nampak nya dugaan saya akan menjadi nyata. Pada tahun Wawashan 2020, tanah Melayu akan dijajah oleh Negara Kecil (the New Emperor) berkuasa Besar dari pulau Selatan..Melayu mudah lupa! Melayu Mudah Lupa.

  29. What the Chinese want
    By Kee Thuan Chye
    In the mood for celebrations?
Every time the Barisan Nasional gets less than the expected support from Chinese voters at an election, the question invariably pops up among the petty-minded: Why are the Chinese ungrateful?
So now, after the Hulu Selangor by-election, it

  30. 1)RM100b of alleged leakages via crutches:
    2)Possible RM320b of oil revenue lost;
    3)Alleged corruption in purchase of a vessel which suppose to submerge cannot do it at the first time;
    4)Alleged fraud in FZ of a jetty;
    5)A white elephant dam that will lost a major percentage of supply before reaching the homes of the consumers;
    6)Two engines can disappear out of a restricted area;
7)Now the lastest is the massive loss in a communicative PlC.
All the above happened, besides others, when the “scale” is in power.Do the blunderers/plunderers have a feeling called conscience?
How much more to come?At the rate it is going, even the “fort-knox” at Jalan Kuching would have melted down in no time.
So,why do you still want to back them, tear them down and give others a chance.

  31. Tun,

What a feat!
Biadap!Kurang ajar.
^)So to soft this problem i suggest conduct Royal ommission.See how Pak Lah soft this dilemma.I guess that’s very fair.
Tun once again HAPPY 2ND ANNIVESSARY TO CHEDET.COM
Terima Kasih Tun Mahathir, may God bless you and family.

  33. Salam ayahnda Tun,
    i. Mengapakah perlunya perjanjian pertukaran seperti ini sedangkan kita yakin bahawa negara memiliki asas yang kuat untuk menuntut kedua2nya jika dirujuk ke Mahkamah Antarabangsa;
    ii. Fakta yang mengatakan “duit boleh habis namun tanah kekal selama-lamanya” adalah meloyakan – apatah lagi keluar dari mulut menteri. Jelas menteri tersebut hanya mencipta justifikasi untuk memperbodohkan rakyat. Hakikatnya kedua2nya perlu dipertahankan oleh kerajaan;
    iii. Apa status sebenar Limbang jikapun Blok L & M ini diserahkan kepada Brunei. Setahu saya setakat ini masih tiada persetujuan jelas dari negara tersebut.;
iv.

  34. ASsalammualaikum TUN,
Pak lah naikan harga minyak x sampai brapa ari harga minyak dunia turun.akibat nya rakyat tangung harga barang kesan kenaikan minyak oleh pak lah.Harga minyak turun harga barang x turun.Apa salah nya klu Pak lah bertahan sebelum buat keputusan naik harga minyak?Isu Wanita cina dalam tahanan polis blm siasat apa lg dah suruh p mintak maaaf dengan kerajaan cina.lepas siasat org malaysia bkn china malu je.TUn mahathir memang x gelabah wat keputusan.Ternyata bkn senang menjadi PM tahniah Tun Mahathir yg berjaya dalam pemerintahan beliau.

  35. Salam Tun
Kes Limbang, yes… kita ingat, ketika PakLah flaunt the news as settled and same time, we were taken a back bila Brunei mentioned… nothing about Limbang was mentioned.. later, Limbang issue didnt catch much attention for the nation…
Did anyone… anyone heard about block L n M was in exchange for Limbang? Until Tun M revealed in his blog…
Why only now TunDol said it was agreed in cabinet meeting… meaning to say, najib and some of todays minister knew and whats next?
THIS IS TERRIBLY DISTURBING THE NATION… for sure!

  36. aku tak terkejut dengan satu lagi perkara ‘BODOH’ yg Pak Lah dah buat..itu berkenaan dengan Blok minyak..habis,berkenaan dengan Jambatan Bengkok tu apa cerita????Sampai sekarang tak boleh buat..Kenapa Pak Lah stop kan pembinaan jambatan tu??Aku dapat mimpi, tentu ada sebabkan??..mungkin Pak Lah ada buat silap dulu kot masa jadi menteri luar..Apa dia dah buat masa jadi menteri luar dulu..??Apa perjanjian yg Pak Lah dah tandatangan dulu dengan Singapura masa jadi Menteri Luar dulu…aku pun tak tau apa dia buat tapi cuba tanya Pak Lah..Mungkin dia tahu atau buat2 tak tahu atau tak ingat..

  37. salam..
    RM 320b????

  38. the problem in malaysia when you are at the high post such as ministers(we are not yet talking about prime minister) they are not held responsible/accountable for their actions.
they get away with it no matter how big is the corruption or blunders
    they are untouchables
even they do wrong, they are not afraid as they can get away with it.
so down the line their subordinates/juniors will follow.
we are corrupting the whole system,as a result this country and the people will suffer.
until when this thing will go on?
or will we only realised when everything is already ruined?
whoever has done wrong should be held accountable regardless of their position
only then our country will be safe

  39. We are yet to receive an explanation from the incompetents of Wisma Putra. Really, those birdbrains should be reposted to less crucial local services.

  40. Tun M
Tun Abdullah and PM Najib have responded in a unified voice on the rationale of this agreement with HRH Sultan Brunei…
it looks to be you have the wrong end of the stick and there is no loss to Malaysia per your portrayal…
Plus you havent indicated your own knowledge when discussing Limbang and territorial understanding for demarcation during your time.
Given all that has been said in the last 7 days by our Fmr. PM and current PM, it’ll be most honorable if you stop harassing Tun Abdullah.
It looks to be your personal anger and hatred against this gentleman is getting to a point where you are losing sleep and causing your blood pressure to go high.
Tun Abdullah is looking more and more statesman even in retirement, even more than you because he is not taking pot shots..whereas you are…

  42. Dear Tun,
    1. The subject of “Malaysia’s Generosity” is an interesting one though petty for some;
    2. It is the same as Malaysian Hospitality;
    3. Many will not appreciate its impact until it affects you personally;
    4. It can come in various forms;
    5. It can happen to anyone and anywhere you go;
    6. I enquired about a few properties in KL. To my utter sadness, the agent [in a certain ethnic drawl] said “These properties are normally for expatriates only, the locals can’t afford it!”
    7. How about driving around in KL with your expatriate colleague and listened to what he likes to say “Don’t worry, I am a Mat Salleh, they won’t do anything to me”!;
    8. How about whilst eating at a restaurant in KL and to your sadness, you overheard Westerners yelling at one of the [local] waiters “If your service is like this, we will have to be in this country forever!”.
    9. Once, I was at a reception counter in one of the 5-Star hotels in KL. I was asking for direction from the person on duty at the counter. To my amazement, this person suddenly left me in a lurch, and went on to attend to a Western couple!
    10. Whilst in KL, I like to shop at certain supermarket in Ampang. On one occasion, I wanted to buy some items and had asked for an assistance from the sales person. This person said “You go to left then right and you will find it there”. As I was walking away, I heard this same person politely said to another customer, a Westerner, “Yes Sir, how can I help you!”.
    11. So, to those who are not happy with the so-called “Malay Rights” etc, you have to reshuffle your thinking.
    12. Being in Malaysia and as a citizen of our own country, we are certainly not the first class citizen. I now know that we are so low down the social scale, too low.
    13. No wonder many Malaysians would prefer to live elsewhere, where you know for a fact that you are the third class citizen if not lower.

  43. Howdy Sir, how do you do? Hitherto, you’re the extraordinary leader that will benefit us all. Thus, I wont’t ever forget you for eternity, for your outstanding contribution towards this nation of ours. Last but not least, please kindly help this nation for the sake of ours to our last breath. I too will help you in any way possible.

  44. As’kum Tun,
Begitulah hebatnya Tun dr dulu sehingga sekarang. Isu yang orang lain tak tahu menahu tapi Tun sedia berkongsi rahsia. Saya rakyat Kelantan.

Saya percaya TDM mempunyai talian terus kepadanya.

  46. TDM selected AAB as his deputy and successor not because he was loyal to him but because he was clean or at least appeared to be clean at that time. AAB also appeared to be religious then. This would appeal to voters for a BN big win in the 2003 general election which it did happen. TDM was correct for selecting AAB for this purpose. Unfortunately, AAB is actually a cunning, manipulative and greedy man whose only ambition is personal and family profit at the expense of the country and the Malaysian people. He is good at disguising issues to appear as if he has the interest of the nation for his own and family’s monetary gain. I support the call for the King to strip off his Tun title because he is a TRAITOR and he must be tried and put behind bars for the rest of his natural life for crimes against the Malaysian people.

  47. salam Tun,
I cannot help but laugh out loud at Ravi’s confession.
“I dont hate Tun M…I in fact love him like a son does his father.
Unfortunately this father happens to be a hypocrite and selfish, and I believe it’s my right to highlight this…”
You bad bad ungrateful spoiled son you!Must have been you were switched at birth?

  48. To Raranusalam
Pls don’t try to bullshit about yr love for Tun. There is not even a tiny hint of love in yr comments. Blaming Tun for every single thing that happened and you still hgave the cheek to say you love him??? If Tun is like a father to you THEN YOU ARE THE UNGRATEFUL SON!!! PERIOD.
DEAR TUN, MAY ALLAH SHOWER HIS BLESSINGS ON YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR DESCENDANTS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS OUR MUSLIM BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND FOR TRYING TO MAKE THIS A BETTER WORLD FOR THE MUSLIMS.

    Soalannya:
Adakah selama ini Limbang bukan milik Malaysia? Adakah Limbang sebelum ni milik Brunei? Jawapannya: Limbang sebelum ini adalah milik Malaysia. Jika Filipina claim Sabah milik dia selama ini, adakah juga bermakna Sabah tu milik Filipina. Tak juga, masih milik Malaysia. China claim Laut China Selatan sehingga 50 batu nautika dari Sabah hak milik dia, tapi Zon Ekonomi Ekslusif Malaysia masih milik Malaysia. Ini budak sekolah rendah pun tau.
    Baca lagi.
“Duit banyak mana pun boleh habis, tetapi tanah boleh kekal selama-lamanya,” katanya.
Memanglah duit banyak pun boleh habis, tapi soalnya perjanjian tu sendiri yang merugikan Malaysia. Limbang dah terang-terang hak milik kita.

Bodoh betul si Nazri tu cakap pakai kepala lutut kot. Dah lah kurang ajar dengan Tun. Apalah sangat jasa dia dibandingkan dengan Tun.
    Wassalam…

  52. Tun,
There are always two sides to a coin! It might seem what Pak Lah did, is not beneficial to Malaysia right now but if you look the other side Pak Lah might be doing Malaysians a big favour by going into a joint venture. Now at least any profit from the JV will be transparent and accountable as there will be more than one managing the money or possible profits. If the two blocks is solely develop or own by Malaysia the public might not have a chance see the money too as it will disappear into some UMNO (type) guy pocket anyway.
You blame or tell the public so much about Pak Lah mistakes, mismanagement and the loss of billions.

  54. Salam TDM,
    Sama-sama kita fikir-fikirkan.

  55. Malaysia is full or maybe a ‘fool’ with generosity indeed……

  56. Salam Tun & respectable CheDet’s fellow bloggers,
I just like to give comments on some of the points raised by our bloggers earlier.
    1. By the way, gunse007’s comments are not worth a shit.
    2. Comments by wajaperak on May 1, 2010 4:14 PM already addressed a lot of points to even counter some of negative points raised by some regular CheDet’s blogger. Excellent.
    3.Comments by juara_kampung on May 1, 2010 2:25 AM
“I AM A BIT DISTURBED BY THE EMPHASIS ON “ON COMMERCIAL BASIS”. IF I AM THE ADVISOR TO THE BRUNEI GOVERNMENT, I WILL ADVISE THEM TO START DEVELOPING THE ARE ON THE 41ST YEAR AFTER THE DATE OF THE AGREEMENT, ON THE GROUND THAT BEFORE THE 41ST YEAR, IT WAS NOT ECONOMICALLY VIABLE TO DEVELOP THE AREA. ISN’T THAT A VALID “COMMERCIAL BASIS”?” is interesting points.
How stupid we are if that really happen? Brunei can do that since they have no urgency to work on that block. Yes, they can wait and start only on 41th year and reap the wealth for themselves – free. Why not? Just like the case of Singapore on the railway land. Singapore does’t want to jointly develop the land for simple reason that they thought and were too confident that they could get that gold mine for free. But Allah’ grace, Tun stayed put to ensure the railway services from Tg Pagar to Woodland remained open. Remember? their dirty trick to stop that service in a subtle way to get that land for free, not only failed but being rediculed for their arrogance /Kiasu. Did Tun involved in that exercise/strategy to blunt their attack? Only Allah/Tun knew. That we called wisdom and excellent leadership.
    4. Ddp comments too have received many responses. For whatever it is, I believe the thorny issue of language as a mean to unite all races into become 1MALAYSIA, can be resolved by having a single education system so that the young will be able to understand and respect each other cultures for our future generation to live in peace and harmony as MALAYSIANS. Only then, we all can deserve to be called Malaysian. Some of ddp’s comment are idealistic in nature and seem to be fair and justified arguement for the rest of the world who do not understand our background and history. The rest especially the Chinese should accept this otherwise IMALAYSIA concept will only be a wishful thinking and serve only as political rhetoric to maintain the status quo that will lead to nowhere but creation of time bomb in future.
Just look at around us, the situation of minority Chinese in Indonesia, Thailand and Philippine. The Chinese especially therefore fail to meet the aspriration of 1MALAYSIA and how can we deserve to be call MALAYSIAN when they still want to remain pure Chinese. So I hope people like ddp representing the Chinese must first need to convince the majority Malays that they are willing to do that as a starting point. Do not worry about the Malays, being kind and tolerance, they will be able agree to other issues as they have shown over the years of willingness to share. It is time for the Chinese need to let go the KIASU attitude-take-take and keep- nothing to give away. And for someone to say that Chinese is the one who work hard to develop this country and pay taxes for the Bumiputra to benefit is indeed proposterous view. Remember! the Malays were “forced” to accept Chinese & Indians to be given citizenship. The time will come when the Malays can accept other races as PM but not until they cleanse themselves first of their attitude towards Malays. Do not compare to Singapore Malays. They being minority have no choice and being subtle, the government are willing to “give equal treatment to the Malays”. After all it is minute sacrice by the Chinese controlled government that not worth to mention. But how come they made it clear that no Malays will be given opportunity to become pilot in the airforce because they still do not trust the loyaty of the Singapore Malays-“their own citizen”. What the Malaysian Chinese have to say about that?
    5. I therefore as the best possible solution, suggest that the government need to form a commission comprise eminant leaders from all communities to study and get the real situation on the ground not just words of the politicians. Review and draw-up new plan of affirmative actions to be taken to ensure objective of a truly national unity will be achieved. We need to learn the lesson on 13th May national tragedy and we all peace loving people do not want to see it repeated. Conduct national referrandum if need be.
May Allah bless and protect us all…ameen

  57. Y.A.B Tun,
    3. Rakyat menjadi keliru apabila isu ini tergantung tanpa penejelasan resmi Kerajaan.

  58. Good morning Ayahanda Tun,
    Sunday May 2, 2010
Khazanah urged to explain Pos Malaysia

  59. This is not generousity It is called stupidity.
It is most common practice of the Malay leaders except I see in Tun.
Among the most stupidity that now Malay Leader is consenting Capital Land Investment to develop IDR in Johor.
It is as honorable as one is consenting others to take care of his family and allowing others tho share his wife and daughters.
The inability of the Malay leader to uphold their family security and future. DAYUS !Islam do encourage warmth with neighbor but also demand us to care of our rights, for now and future.

  60. Tun,
Siapa lagi kalau bukan bangsa melayu sendiri, pasal tu lah saya kerap peringat apa yang ayah saya pesan, ” JANGAN SELALU FIKIRKAN JALAN MUDAH ATAU SHORTCUT SAHAJA TETAPI KENALAH BERUSAHA DAN MEMIKIRKAN CARA YANG TERBAIK DALAM MENGHADAPI APA-APA JUGA MALASAH DI DEPAN KITA ”

sy bukannya seorang yg rasis.tp sy bcakap bdasarkn ketidakpuasan hati dikalangan ‘negarawan’ yg b’agama islam dan bbangsa melayu. mmg betul paklah mungkin xshebat Tun. tp skurang2nya paklah bg nyawa kpd petani dan nelayan. paklah bg harapan kpd pekebun n melayu yg ttindas. Kenapa minyak yg begitu hebat dicanang hingga dipersoalkan sampai hina nya seseorang itu, kenapa taknak mempersoalkan Bernas diberi kepada syarikat asing? sedangkan bernas adalah bertanggungjawab menyediakan makanan ruji kita sbg rakyat malaysia. Kalau paklah tak selamatkan, 20tahun akan datang, mampu ke kita makan minyak? andai betul 320b ini menjadi pbalahan, apa pulak nasib rakyat tganu yang Tun nafikan hak mereka sekian lama? jika benar paklah silap, sekurang-kurangnya paklah mampu mempertahankan hak hakiki dan memberi sesuatu kpd bangsanya daripada mengaut keuntungan kepada anak beranak sendiri.

  62. Assalamualaikum Tun,
    Sungguh menakutkan!
    1. kenapa dokumen kemerdekaan tidak dibuka untuk pengetahuan umum;
    2. kenapa Pulau Pinang tidak dituntut untuk diserahkan kembali kepada Kedah;
    3. kenapa UMNO tidak pernah menyifatkan P.Tanah Melayu sebagai sebuah negara-bangsa Melayu, sebaliknya negara pelbagai kaum! dan legasi ini diteruskan bila negara bertukar ke Malaysia;
    4. kenapa UMNO begitu ghairah dengan ‘bangsa Malaysia’, atau pun ‘orang Malaysia’;
    5. kenapa kawasan DUN atau Parlimen tidak boleh bertukar tangan antara parti terbesar UMNO, MIC dan MCA : koloni masing-masing telah pun dipersetujui atau disahkan;
    6. kenapa UMNO tidak mahu jadi Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang, walau pun beroleh majoriti;
    1. memastikan ketuanan Melayu itu kekal dalam tangan UMNO;
    2. memastikan umat Melayu-Islam berada dalam genggaman mereka;
    3. memastikan tanah rezab Melayu, tidak hilang… bukannya Tanah Melayu seluruhnya;
    4. melekakan raja-raja dengan hak istimewa, dan membiarkan raja-raja terus bertindak tanpa pembelajaran kenegaraan yang sepatutnya. Dengan itu, mereka boleh pinda di Parlimen;
    5. mengkhayalkan umat Melayu-Islam dengan menstatuskan Islam agama resmi, sedangkan mereka tidak ikut tatacara Islam pun. Malah mengutip harta umat Melayu-Islam, melalui zakat, untuk kepentingan perancangan mereka, bukan mengikut ajaran Islam;
    Sah ‘Legion’ sudah berkuasa!
    Anda semua bagaimana?
Boleh tambah lagi ? Seperti kes pengusaha babi dan balak?

  64. Dear Tun,
I salute you for being so courageous and blatant to expose such sensitive issue. Pak Lah has denied it. For me, what you exposed here is believable even though it sounds preposterious simply because Pak Lah has proven to be of such personality. Firstly, Pak Lah doubled patrol price and toll two months before General election and increased subsidy and salary two months after election. This is a truely insane political strategy. The kampong people call it politik pak pandir. Menang sorak kampong tergadai.
Look at his Cabinet after the election. He brought in Zaid Ibrahim to compensate Salleh Abas in order to embarrass Tun. He was manipulated by the opposition. You picked him to be your deputy because he was truely a loyal and nice person as compared to Najib. Najib’s loyalty to you was uncertain and you could not take the risk. You value loyalty. You still stand by Ibrahim Ali because he stood by you when Anwar Ibrahim challenged you. You, Anwar Ibrahim and Ibrahim Ali are all brave and blatant people.
    amin tan

    Terima kasih & wassalam
    # Sampaikan salam saya buat seisi keluarga TDM. Moga Allah swt limpahi rahmat keatas TDM serta keluarga.

  67. Assalamualaikum….
    Dear Tun,
After reading your post, I have been wondering, what had happened to our country? Currently, I’m feel kind of angry and sad that our country have faces with a lot of problem like as different political view, crime, and etc.
and now we are losing our oil producing offshore? what should we do and what can we do? especially, we are not an outsiders. We are Malaysian. I’m repeat, we are Malaysian. It doesn’t matter if our skin either black or white. It doesn’t matter if we are Malays, Indian, Chinese or other races. It doesn’t matter if we are Muslim, Buddha, Hindu, Christian, or etc. but still ……
“kita berpijak di bumi yang sama”.

  68. Salam Tun,
Lagipun, Sultan Brunei banyak sangat dah bantu Malaysia. KLCC, KLIA, dan kebanyakan projek2 mega semasa Tun dulu, Sultan Brunei juga menolong selesaikan Masalah, bukan kah betul. Lagipun Tun, anak beranaknya dan konco konco nya kesemua nya dah kaya raya. Kalau tak salah saya lah, multi-multi-multi millionaire dah masing masing. Nak kacau, porak perandakan serta melagakan kaum Melayu buat apa lagi. Sekali sekala, biar lah kaum Melayu ni ‘exercise’ sikit pemikiran mereka sendiri.

  69. Salam Tun
It’s really blunder for you and your Cabinet during your tenure as a PM agreed to let Badawi to run his administration freely. I am sorry to say that… Maaf Tun. We can count it.. respectable person who called himself a “Nice Guy” spending billions of ringgit during his shortest term, killing off Crook Bridge project etc…etc… what’s more keeping his old episode hiding in the dark. He should not deserve a title given as “Tun” anyway. ‘Malu lah! Macam2 dia jual’ ‘Sudah jual takpe… kene kencing pulak tu!’
‘BIAR KITA BAIK HATI, JANGAN MURAH HATI’
    Maaf Tun
    That’s Reality

  70. SALAM TUN;
SEJARAH NEGARA KITA SEJAK DARI DULU HINGGA KINI DAN MUNGKIN AKAN DATANG MENGALAMI NASIB MALANG SERING KEHILANGAN MARUAH DAN WILAYAH YANG SEMACAM TIDAK BERKESUDAHANNYA.
SEMENJAK DARI ZAMAN; KESULTANAN MELAYU LAGI (GARA-GARA TIDAK BERSATU UNTUK MEMBINA KEKUATAN) SEPERTI KEDAH YANG KEHILANGAN WILAYAH PATTANI, JOHOR YANG KEHILANGAN SINGAPURA DAN TERKINI PULAU BATU PUTEH.
APABILA NEGARA MENCAPAI KEMERDEKAAN; MARUAH PULA TERCALAR KERANA NEGARA TERPAKSA DI KONGSI (tiga)3

  71. When I first read this, I felt a slight tinge of patriotic anger. But it quickly evaporated.
I realized that something was up about the timing of everything. Then I just smiled in amusement.

  72. saya mengutuk sekeras kerasnya perbuatan ABB tu, tak layak dpt pangkat TUN sbb jasanya cuma sebat duit rakyat je….tak mcm TUN Mahathir Mohammad yg jasanya sampa la ni pun tak habis dikecapi oleh rakyat semua termasuk lah lim kit siang anak beranak yg diktator tu. kita rakyat harus bangkit tanya si kaki sapu tu dan minta balik blok2 yg dibagi free tu….

  73. Salam buat Yang Berbahagia Tun,

  74. donplaypuks, your allegations have a strong scent of Pakatan. It is NOT Tun, but YOU who has to substantiate all your allegations.
You need to provide evidence for your claims before you ask others to explain themselves. Your allegations are similar to Bush’s claims that Saddam prove he has no WMD; as you can see, this logic is nonesensical.
    Over to you.

  75. Dear Tun and all,
We are talking about our previous PM. He has since left after leading the country several years. A leader made decisions but PM made crucial decisions. Time will tell whether the decision was good or not. But once a decision is made, and of course through consensus from the cabinet, we must all support it, whatever the outcome it is. If there is no consensus from the cabinet, the decision shall not be deemed valid.
Pak Lah had discussed it with the cabinet and decided to do it that way – he should not be penalised. PM is not expected to make correct decision all the time, sufficient enough if most of the time.
TDM have also made some bad decisions but he was ok most of the time.
I believe it is the same for PM Najib.
Pak Lah has served his time, we were not bad but in fact better than many countries. We should be thankful to Pak Lah for taking over from TDM and then pass the baton gracefully to PM Najib.
There is continuity, there is balance and there is hope.
To TDM, let us be more forgiving and look at the future.
The future is where Malaysia lies, looking back could be painful…

  76. Dearest Tun,
I’m curious whether there are other decisions by Tun AAB affecting Malaysians the “Cabinet agreed” that we don’t know about.
    Best Regards
    Freddie

  77. Zulkiflee Bin Arip and Bubbles
you both have the wrong end of the stick…
I dont hate Tun M…I in fact love him like a son does his father.
Unfortunately this father happens to be a hypocrite and selfish, and I believe it’s my right to highlight this…
so, if you will both be kind enough to not interrupt my questions to Tun M, and stop festering in your gullibility and hatred, I bade you both a good weekend.
    (Ravi)

  78. Yg dihormati Tun Dr Mahathir;
Izinkan saya mencoretkan sepatah 2 kata menyambung komen ‘pppz’ pada May 1, 2010 12:08 AM; walaupun off-topic sebenarnya –

    Renungkan setika
    Sekalin Terima Kasih

  80. Dear Tun
You are always bullying Abdullah Badawi. He is not your match. Why do you not pick someone your size like Singapore’s Lee Kwan Yew. Challenge him to a debate to be telecast live on all tv channels. LKY had screwed you real good and proper many times in debates in the past. Maybe this is your chance to redeem yourself.
Malaysia has lost nothing in this deal with Brunei. The oil resources there is finite. In 40 years there is nothing left to exploit. The 2 countries might as well exploit the resources now jointly for the good of both. Without this agreement, there will only be a stalemate.

  81. SALAM BUAT TUN BERDUA MOGA DIRAHMATI ALLAH S.W.T

  82. To ekompute,
Please take your lousy propaganda somewhere else. The British do not want you that is why you are here in Malaysia. And because the Malays took you in that is why you are not back in the country you came from. You also do not want to go back to your home country, India or China, because you know that Malaysia is a lot better than the country you came from. Otherwise you are there already and we have one less ungrateful immigrant.
Yes, the Malays also like PAS to govern Malaysia. But when they do, we want only Muslims in the government not anyone else. All benefits and privileges must go to Muslims only.

  83. Assallammualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarokatuh.
Semoga mendapat izin dan perkenan Tun.

[[What gives Tun the right to demand explanations while keeping silent on those dubious decisons he made while PM that cost the Rakyat hundreds of billions of $, blocked legal action against his Cabinet Ministers and croneys, and many others their personal freedom without the right to defend themselves in court?]]
Tun did not need the explanation. We do.Tun have his own mechanism of check and balance. And he had tried very hard in containing and mending whatever needed to be done for Malaysia.
This is a damage control measure’s.
You claimed on dubious decisions on Tun part.Which one? Do you realizes that we have OSA? Official Secret Act ? This is a protective mechanism same as ISA.Everybody might disagree but if you care..check the Quarantine Act.It is similar and precisely apt.
Quarantine Act. 2005, c. 20. Q-1.1. [Assented to May 13th, 2005]. An Act to prevent the introduction and spread of communicable diseases.
Tun had always acted in the best interest of Malaysia. If you don’t have the documentation to begin with, please acquire them first before accusing Tun any
    similarity regarding “dubious decision”.
[[Don’t forget that Tun is still the Advisor to Petronas, as well as Proton, and when major cock-ups like this and others like the MV Augusta debacle occur, he always keeps silent on how it escaped his attention when it actually happened. Do remember that Hassan Merican and Tengku Mahaleel were appointed CEO’s by Tun and served under him for years. Yet Tun claims he is unaware of what happened!!]]
dpp don’t you remember what Tun said about him being the advisor?
Qoute..”I was not consulted upon any essential matter”..to that effect.
Tun is mere human.Don’t expect the world from him. This all have affected him much.He is retired you know. Why hogged him anymore??
Regarding ?Tun? Dolla..he will be accounted for.Don’t worry. But the question is why don’t you start’s the digging dpp?
To ravi aka Rarunasalam.See clearly what your devoted Tun Dolla had done us.Have you ever find any regret, remorse or any conscientious demonstration on his part?
A reporter asked him about the aftermath result of PRU 12.
“Dato Seri.
Jawab your beloved Tun Dolla..”Undi tak percaya apa?
There you have it.The man definition of “winning” is diferrent from majority of us.
And Tun Dolla still believes he is winning.
    Take stock and ponder.
    Ribuan terima kasih Tun.

  84. Salam Tun, its me again writing after having read AAB’s explanation in The Star.
Question is how can AAB said that Malaysia and Brunei will jointly develop oil and gas in the area when sovereingty already affirmed in favour of Brunei?…What a contradiction in terms. In fact, that’s not joint development, that is Malaysia working as slave/contractor under Brunei’s sovereingty. And how much is the stake given to Malaysia from the so-called misleading term of “jointly develop”?.
Further, we all know that the dispute actually extends even beyond the Blocks L & M area, so what happened to the areas north of that blocks…have they too been given away?…I’m sure there are much more petroleum reserves overall…so we’re not just talking about RM320 billion here aren’t we?…

  85. Pak Lah nampak macam baik. Mungkin dia baik. Mungkin dia diperbodohkan oleh menantu dia.

  86. Dear Tun,
If it is already too late, then why cry over a spilt milk? If it is not, then just ask the government to find a way to get it back (peacefully)! There must be a way out there, just find it!
To get to the root of the problem, to prevent this in the future:
We MUST have a good system in place. A system which allows INDEPENDENT scrutiny among the highest institutions of power in the country, plus something else (a good and free press?).
Without this, the country is very vulnerable to mistakes made by a few individuals.
I am just curious why this did not take place during your premiership. You have missed a great opportunity!

  87. Dear Najib Tun Razak,
If you want to prove that you are what you said you are, please be a man and take actions against Abdullah Ahmad Badawi & Khairy Jamaluddin. This is the biggest coppruption, crime & stupidity ever happened in the History of Malaysia.
OOpps, not stupidity, I don’t think he AAB is stupid, he is pretending to be stupid (Bodoh Sepat) He knows what is he doing, filling his coffers with billions. Jeanne, KJ and his entire family were laughing and still is as they know that AAB is untouchable coz Najib is indebted and TERHARU to Pak Lah.
Pak Lah must go to jail

  88. Dear Tun,
There is not need to explain. This is how ours system functions. Past, present, future and always.
As long as we remain in the same system, need NOT explain. We understood.

  89. SALE..SALE….SALE
    MALAYSIAN WATERS FOR SALE
    NAME YOUR PRICE…
    SALE…SALE….SALE

  90. Everyone makes mistakes. Some mistakes can be made, but not all. If a barber makes a mistake, it becomes a new style. If a cook accidentaly makes a mistake, it might turn out to be a new dish. What happen when a leader of a country makes a mistake? It can be devastating. In this case, the mistake made was so damaging to the economic of Malaysia. Did he alone make that decision? or was it been made together with a team of his advisors. If it is with a team of advisors, that it seriously requires some looking into. Have to be careful while making plans for the country.
Been generous is good but also not to this extend.
Wishes Malaysia a more properous year.
    Cheers
    Steven

  91. Hi joehenry, do you think US 100billion should give badawi a break for his own living., The amount of money is possible to bring Malaysia to another level out from poverty and create new international recognition development

  92. Latest comment from Petronas read:
“Petronas has been invited by the government of Brunei to enter into an agreement to develop the two blocks of oil rich areas in the South China Sea on a commercial arrangement basis.”
As you can see, it is Brunei that invited Petronas to develop the 2 blocks of oil rich areas. Malaysia has NO say on the matter!
“Petronas confirms that following the exchange of letters, the production sharing contracts covering Blocks L and M, which were awarded in 2003 to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and Murphy Sabah Oil Co Ltd were formally terminated on April 7 this year as these are no longer part of Malaysia.”
Blocks L and M are redesignated as Blocks CA1 and CA2.
    The facts are that:
    1. Malaysia no longer has any sovereignty over the 2 areas.
    2. Malaysian oil companies can only participate in jointly developing the areas for 40 years (with Brunei’s permission).
    3. Limbang remains a desputed area with Brunei excercising a lot of leverage.
Abdullah can not blame the decision on the Malaysian cabinet because he himself was the PM. Simply by blaming others for his failures shows his weakness and lack of foresight and resolve.
I stand by my opinion that Abdullah should be tried for trechery in losing parts of land and sea areas belonging to Malaysia.

  93. Salam,
******Apa Kerajaan Dato Najib perlu lakukan?*******

Petronas clarifies on the two oil-rich blocks
KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas has been invited by the government of Brunei to enter into an agreement to develop the two blocks of oil rich areas in the South China Sea on a commercial arrangement basis.
In a statement here on Saturday, the national oil company said it had since set up a team that had begun negotiations with Brunei to work out the terms of this commercial arrangement.
“Both parties are committed to arriving at a mutually beneficial arrangement as soon as possible,” it said.
Petronas said it also wished to clarify reports on the offshore exploration areas designated as Blocks L and M following the execution of the Exchange of Letters between Malaysia and Brunei on March 16, 2009.
“This exchange was a culmination of a long-standing issue between the two countries to arrive at a mutually beneficial arrangement, which allowed Petronas to enter into new production sharing contracts for both blocks.
“Petronas confirms that following the exchange of letters, the production sharing contracts covering Blocks L and M, which were awarded in 2003 to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and Murphy Sabah Oil Co Ltd were formally terminated on April 7 this year as these are no longer part of Malaysia.
“Blocks L and M are redesignated as Blocks CA1 and CA2 respectively,” it said.
The controversy over the two blocks have arisen after former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had in a blog posting asked why the two blocks no longer belonged to Malaysia.
Dr Mahathir said the two blocks had been claimed by Malaysia based on historical facts.
In response, former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had refuted claims that he signed away Malaysia’s rights over the two blocks.
Abdullah had said that he signed the agreement after the Malaysian Cabinet approved the deal on Feb 11, (why year not stated here??) which stated that while sovereign rights over these two areas belonged to Brunei, it also allowed Malaysia to participate in jointly developing the areas for 40 years.
    Comment:
AAB and Cabinet approved the deal on Feb 11, 2007?
If he and his cabinet approved the deal on this date, then we know why petrol price was increased tremendously in June 2007.
There may be another petrol price increment according to the Minister of Domsetic Trade in the coming future, since the oil fields belong to Brunei, and not Malaysia. Who benefits from this deal? No wonder some of the GLCs required to be privatised by PM Najib….
    To mgpunya,
..ends to rise capitalism due to human intelligent which has nothing to do with skin colour and race, live with it and it’s going to be permanent…..
    Take care Ayahanda Tun.

  95. Dear Tun,
Let past be the past. In order for negotiation to succeed, we might gain some and loose some. After all who appoint him as a successor?
Just forgive & forget, God please put an end to this cold war between these 2 Tun.
Concentrate on malays unity and it should be started between (you) Tun & (he) Tun.
    God bless you great leaders.

  96. Salam Tun.
    To: rarunasalam, donplaypuks,…..others alike
Tun has openly made public his accusations of terrible wrongdoings by ex-PM ‘no quality’ Pak Dol, PKR adviser ‘the liar & slanderer’ Anwar, and the ‘kurang _jar'(KJ) kid. None of them has issued denial or ‘see you in court’ statements.
Anwar replied through his ‘I can fool them all of the time’ followers (which include you) by spreading 101 slanders. Pak Dol and KJ both decided acting to be mute is the best solution.
Knowing saudara Anwar’s & the KJ kid’s aspiration to be PM, any wrongdoing/s that Tun M has done will become public knowledge, without any of you slobs/morons having to keep repeating your sweeping accusations, in Tun M’s own blog! Tun still allowed your negative accusations/slanders of him to appear in his own website because he wanted the other readers to know your & other PKR supporters’ stupidity levels. Stop making fool of yourself.

  97. Wisma Putra
It was the same happened on Batu Putih issue. Someone told me, Orang Wisma Putra yang pergi nego – meeting dengan Spore tak tahu apa pun, with no preparation , betul ke wiama Putra?

  98. Dearest Tun,
    ASM
We are indeed very generous to give our right to Brunei. I think this is what we are.
Historically, we allow Portuguese to invade us, then the Dutchmen, later Englishmen. We even gave out citizenship to most of the immigrants prior to our independence. Creating wealth and opportunity for our neighboring countries to work here.
    We have a noble hearts…
With Allah grace surely, we are HIS true servants. And I’m confident the lost of RM320 bil will be compensated by other means.

  99. Dear Tun Dr. Mahathir,
    1) Tolong Tengok-tengok kan ISSUE AMBALAT. Wisma putra belum tentu boleh harap.
    2) Hello! Kepada laksamana-laksamana laut NAVY tu, tolong ronda ronda sikit. Ambalat ke? Blok ini ke? Middle Rocks ke? Teluk siam ke? Berlakon la buat accident sikit baru masuk paper? Nak tunggu menteri arahkan pun, belum tentu menteri tu boleh harap. Harap laksamana-laksamana tu boleh terima arahan ni. Jangan tak dengar pula. Kalau Navy tak ronda, nanti nak claim pun tak de record? Ingat Issue layang-layang tu dulu, kalau Paskal tak berkampung di hujan panas, layang-layang tu dah melayang. Now layang-layang pun ada resort padi standard sipadan.
    3) Actually adatak cara nak batalkan signature ABB (LoE) yang smart tu. May be using high court, supreme court???? Apa Court takut nak sebut nama “Tun” ke?
    4) ABB kata “Negara tak rugi pun”–Utusan online
    5) tapi Brunei kata “nak gali cepat”, brunei takut rugi la tu.
    6) Nowaday, when I look in tu Pak Lah picture, Rambut tun ABB nampak macam jambul AYAM je (Terbayang la, bolehkan) tengok belakang tun ABB macam ada ekor sikit (terbayang lagi), Cuba tuan-tuan check, ada tanduk tak??????

  101. Dear Tun,
    1) I just read UTUSAN and ABB said “Hak kedaulatan kawasan tu dah jadi kedaulatan Brunei”
    2) Nasi sudah jadi bubur. ABB forget USA & Britain make WAR in IRAQ because of OIL. ABB just bagi like that ke? I think, he already CRAZY. Malaysia lost like that without fighting?????? Malaysia Generosity.
    3) ABB said “Cabinet already agree?”
4)Please let us know which minister / parliment members yang agree with ABB. Next election, I hope all people do not vote this person anymore. They are also CRAZY like ABB. They MUST resign. We must replace them before too late or they make another CRAZY decision.
    5) Again Malaysia Generosity, Do i have to pay in come tax? Give our basic utility, education etc FREE la.
    5)

  102. Sedikit info limbang…

Bukan sesuatu keputusan besar yg melibat sempadan negara kena dibincangkan diparlimen…

  103. Wahlah! Isn’t this something! Politicians who betray our country should be thrown out or punished. I wonder if the story can go any far! We have lousy journalist who just report for the sake of reporting! Thanks to Tun! Isn’t the media same then and now!
I don’t care if Pak Lah have done good for his rakyat but he surely owes us an explanation! Maybe not! If “they” can mastermind the Alanthuya case; then this scandal is nothing lah! Soon the whole story will be just forgotten! Amen.

  104. Assalamualaikum Tun,
i dunno the exact details so im not blaming badawi. but assume 320 billion divided by 27 million malaysian population
each malaysian can get around RM 11,000
with that money, each malaysian probably had their cheap permanent house/room to live without worry about poverty..?

  105. SALAM TUN AND MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN,
I WONDER WHY THE CABINET DID NOT ASK THE A-G OFFICE TO VET THE AGREEMENT BEFORE ALLOWING “THE SMART AAB” TO SIGN IT.

I AM A BIT DISTURBED BY THE EMPHASIS ON “ON COMMERCIAL BASIS”. ISN’T THAT A VALID “COMMERCIAL BASIS”?
I ALSO WONDER WHY THE SMART AAB DID NOT MENTION ABOUT BLOCK L & M WHEN HE ANNOUNCED HIS ACHIEVEMENT REGARDING LIMBANG.

  106. Tun,
1)According to BW,you have plundered RM100 billions in our nation’s wealth.
2)In turn, you have said that”Abdullah has caused Malaysia to lose at least US100 billion…..
3)Today I just saw something disgusting on Youtube about the submarine. What is this Euro 114M?
4)I just wonder why we have the draconian tax law given to the IRB to collect the taxes while some jerks just blow it away like that and also its investigation branch targeting a particular race.
5)And we have this very loyal CEO telling us that there will be 89 something billion to be collected. All for developments which they told us in their seminars but is it really?
6)We read the reply but it does not tally.Maybe some goons from Oxbridge would have advised him to reply like that.
7)Like you had suggested,Wisma Putra must come out with a full explanation.

  107. Tun,
You must understand, he must sell something before his retirement. Otherwise, how is his reserve going to provide for him and since he could not manage to sell sand to Singapore, he had to sell the oil block to Brunei Sultan. That was a safer bet because the Brunei Sultan is rich and the deal could be done in a more hush-hush manner and there was a big likelihood that if he could pull off the deal quietly, he could even be pronounced a hero under the pretext of solving a long standing dispute with a neighbouring country. Give him a break, Tun. The man was just trying to make a living.

  108. Yes.. a tragedy happened here, again. But be aware that this is not the last. Thank you Tun for being sharp (again) and raise the details.

  109. I’m furious!!! If this is true, we need to INSTANTLY take action on AAB. He is not of ROYAL blood and even if he is, in the name of law and honour, he should be treated like any other citizen in our beloved country. To BN leaders: prove it to us that there’s JUSTICE in Malaysia and we might change our mind for the next election. Those who dare take risk will reap returns.
    23 year old student.

  110. Tun,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The loss to Malaysia is really shocking to say the least. I have no doubt that the block of oil reserve was lost to Brunei Sultan in one of Abdullah’s many bad bets in the game golf. It is also not very dissimillar to his administration frequent pronouncements of the so called “win-win” sitaution for both Malaysia and other countries like the one he so proudly pronounced when Malaysia lost the Pulau Putih to Singapore.

  111. RM 320 billion adalah sama dengan
    2 Bill Gate
    36 lapangan terbang KLIA
    70 jambatan pulau pinang
128 tahun keunutungan MAYBANK (Bank paling besar di Malaysia)
106667 kali derma untuk Sekolah Cina Rasa di Hulu Selangor

  112. ddp,
My sympathy to you. You must have been very very angry with TDM that this cause you to have sleepless nights until today. So much so that the moment TDM name is mentioned you start to lose your sense of rationality. No wonder you have nightmares every time you are at Petronas Twin Tower, LRT, Plus Highway, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, KLIA, KL Tower, Penang Bridge ISA etc. It is also not surprising that you are feeling guilty for continuously using the NSE to drive from KL to Penang, Seremban or Malacca instead of the old trunk road. NSE reminds you of your hatred for TDM. What the heck! I am an hypocrite. And who cares!

  113. Salam YAB Tun,
    Wassalam.

  114. Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
    izinkan saya mengulas ravi rarunasalam.
dei!..you are very rude to Tun.before you comment anything further,go find a mirror first, look into it and understand who and where you are.for your knowledge,we are not happy Tunku grant your ancestors our citizenship but we respect Tunku’s decision and keep our mouth shut.that’s the way we south-east Asian,Nusantara, people respect our leaders.if you cannot behave like a southeast-Asiian,like us,..get out.go.Go away to your ancestral land.
or if you want to stay, learn some manners.but stil,i personally prefer you and those economic immigrants brought as British kuli to just go away.i cant stand ill-mannered people like you.
    terimakasih Tun.

  115. AAB has doen it again. First he sold MV Augusta for a mere 1 Euro and now he gave up oil rich wells Malaysia already owned to Brunei for a piece of useless Limbang land and yet he has the audacity to say Malaysia does not loose. I think he needs to get his minute brain checked. He has no cow sense at all. Unless, he is using Limbang as a cover to benefit billions paid to him by Brunei for this conspicuously raw deal for Malaysia. It is very irresponsible of a head of the Malaysian government to betray the Malaysian people this way. The Agong must interfere in this matter and help initiate the Royal Commission of Inquiry to get AAB responsible for this crime against the Malaysian people. AAB is a pathetic LOSER and must be charged for high treason.

  116. Murphy Oil recently ceased ops in the said sectors after stating that they were not part of Malaysia. This was because Brunei are not granting rights to any company that wants to explore oil on behalf of Malaysia. Why does Badawi say that the ops will be jointly worked out between the 2 countries when clearly Brunei thinks that Malaysia has no right!
Another example of Badawi’s sleep-walking premiership. He sleep-walked Malaysia into losing Pulau Batu Puteh. He sleep-walked Malaysia into the kind of “reforms” that opened a can of worms within civil society and creating unstable race-relations. He sleep-walked Malaysia into losing lucrative rights to oil-rick sectors. He sleep-walked Malaysia into one nightmare after another.
Badawi proves the cliche that being a good person does NOT make you a good leader.

  117. yeah! we implement GST at 4% to recover back the loses. Malaysian citizens are very generous to the government also!

  118. Assalamualaikum Tun..]
Its so surprised to know that we have “trade off” our oil field to other party.Didn’t he realized that he had gave precious things which supposed belong to Malaysia and able to boost our coffer for our future generation????
I do hope the govt can scrapped off the “TUN” title which they have confered to him in the past and revoke all the privileges that govt grant to him…Let him serve for his stupid action..(oooh not to forget, please include his beloved son-in-law too)..

  119. Salam YAB dan diKasihi Tun,

  120. Dear Tun,
In China, those who sell their country will get a bullet through their heads. In Malaysia, it is okay and considered a common practice for greedy politicions because they know very well that they can get away easily with their ill-found wealth. My advice to all Malaysians, you have two choices. If you hate the present government who allows this to happen, then leave. Or if you choose to remain silent, then stay and allow Allah to decide on their fate in their next world….’hell’ I believe.
    Take care Tun.

  121. This is quite concerning news toward the whole malaysians. Why did certain news never come out of the news topic while we just notices it only if we read on the chedet blog. The whole malaysians have the right to know what goverment was doing nevertheless its come out with the worse things ever. This is too far for the 2 Block as mention to be exchange with the small state which i not understand whatever in the ex-PM mind will come out with. That why our country will never been to compare with the others which was lead by the stupidty or maybe cooruption behind the since. This will be the shame of our country and the massive lost of the suppliement of oil resources which we needed the most in gaining profit within our econimic. It’s too late to get explanation from any parties, where goverment need to do something to claim back what surposely ours. Such an important bargain will never be present by only the representative of a nation, this absalutely was a big mistake. Shameless, hopeless and dissapointment against goverment will alway be among peoples.

  123. YABhg Tun,
On a different note, I’d like to comment on the shooting of the 15 years old boy.
A few years ago, a boy driving a mini bas rammed at the back of my wife’s car at full speed. The impact was so bad that the Insurance Company declared her car as a total lost. Inside the car was my wife and 3 small children. That they all escaped with only some cuts and bruises were a miracle, thank God.
The boy did not have a license. The authorities only slap him with some fines and compound. Am I mad that the Police didn’t do much more than just that??? YOU BET I AM!!! My family could have been all killed by this stupid kid!! The boy and his family didn’t even have the courtesy to call or meet us to apologise after the incident.
My wife still had nightmares and is still scared to drive.
I still believe parents who let their children drive without license should be held responsible and sadly to say, this is a case in point.

  124. Dear Tun,
    1) Kurang ajar itu ABB, he think “USD100B oil = 1 euro Agusta?”
    2) To rarunasalam, your comments are out of topic. You Do not understand the issue, the issue is we already lost our “wilayah laut” because of Barua ABB signature.
    3) Please TUN, get back the Blocks via BN, or we have to replace BN.

  125. Salam Pak Tun,
Wow, hold your horses Mat Saleh kata. What’s going on?
Malaysia kehilangan banyak itu? Siapa empunya kerja ni. Padan la rakyat dah hilang kepercayaan kat BN.

  126. THIS IS SOOOO DISTURBING… we really need an explanation for this issue. God knows how mad i am rite now.

  129. Salams Tun DrM…
Wah.. Berapi menyatakan hal politik dan salah laku pemimpin2 kita..
    Itulah yang dinamakan pemimpin…
Bila dah ada kuasa tu salah guna pula.. Hehehehe…
Itu la pasai.. Kena ada Fatonah.. iaitu Kebijaksanaan..
Banyak yang mengaku bijak tapi hakikatnya tidak..
Sebab mereka lupa yang peroleh kebijaksanaan tu pun sebenarnya Insan..
    suatu Ehsan dari Yang Maha..
Org2 ni sebenarnya tak pandai kerana kebijaksanaan tu pun Anugerah..
Nak tahu macam mana nak dapat Fatonah sebenar.?
    1. Kena lah Sidiq..
    2. Kena lah Amanah..
    3. Kena lah ber Tabligh..
    baru dapat Fatonah sebenar.
Tanyalah diri..
Sesat lagi menyesatkan.. Nauzubillah..
Pemimpin ni tak kira siapa kalo takdak sifat2 ni habis lah bangsa.. Habis la negara.. Lalai dengan Dunia.. Agama terbuang sahaja.
Akhirat nanti mcmana.? Ishk.. ishk.. ishk..
BN dah kuasa 50 thn lebihh.. Ingat2 depa tak lupa ka.? heheheh…
Yang sekarang ni pun sama jaa.. tak kira BN mahupun PR..
Semua mudah lupa.. sampai dah tak ingat benda Baik dan Buruk.. Pahala dan Dosa..
MAKA… terjadilah macam2 keruntuhan moral dan jenayah..
siapa mangsa..?
A Good person will say his is sorry.. but A Better person will admit to his mistakes…
    Wayar Putiuh..
Salams Jumaat buat Tun DrM yang tercinta.. I tak brapa suka gov la.. makin menjadi nak berkuasa.. Win at all cost.. heheh.. rakyat menderita.. Ni nak tanya federal budget takda ka buat state PR.? Ingat… PR state buat semua pakai duit sendiri yang depa cari.. Manakala federal gov belanja tu duit kutipan dari semua negeri noo… Malang.. kutip semua tapi bagi ikut rasa sedap depa sahaja..
Ini kira oppression of the new order.. hahahah..
    Salams,
    kuthe.

  130. Give up Scenic bridge nak puaskan singapore….. give up pulau batu putih…sekarang serah Block L and M kat brunei…..ntah apa lagi digadaikan…… jangan jangan seluruh negara malaysia dah dijual senyap senyap

  131. Dearest Tun.
Thank you for revealing this. If not because of your blog, there will be so much hidden information that the rakyat were kept kept away from.
ACA SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER AS PAK LAH (AND KHAIRY JAMALUDDIN) COULD GET BILLIONS OF KICK BACKS OUT OF THIS.
PAK LAH & KJ ARE NATIONAL TRAITORS AND SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!

  132. This is what happens when too much power is vested in a single person, without checks and balances. Also, our culture of not wanting to question the leadership for fear of being sidelined, has shown it’s ugly head again. There is too much self interest and very little consideration for the interests of the masses.

  133. Tun,
Kenapa Tun nak tanya Wisma Putra? Takkan Tun tak tau, Kementerian semuanya dah tak wujud. Yang ada cuma Menteri. Keadaan memang teruk semasa AAB jadi Perdana Menteri.
Dengarnya, AAB suka buat “four eyed meeting”.

  134. Salam hormat Tun.
That man is so arrogant while in office though he caused lots of blunders during his tenure. Now, this came to light. I think our present PM should not interfere but let the SPRM ( if it is really independent ) to investigate thoroughly what AAB got in return for surrendering that 2 lots worth 100 billion ringgit.

  135. yang kes PKFZ pon xsettle lg. pastu dgr2 sume nye terlepas mcm tu je.
ini timbul kes lg beso.. so what say all of u? could it be the same ending??

  136. 1983 SAYA joint PETRONAS…banyak undang2 dan juga PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT ACT 1952 serta lain PSC Contractors Sharing Contract Agreement was made in such manner that our E&P Department and Marine Dept were responsibility for territory mapping..its may be done due to underwater reservoir much in to Brunei territorial water..as such the decision made by Pak Lah could be right or unless otherwise could be back flashed on Sarawak Limbang areas..Sarawak is now aiming to runs their country at her own accord and not to be under semenanjung any more..the planning are taken at their grass root.Good luck..Born free and be like Singapore..
    More to come frm http://delimamalindo.blogspot.com

  137. Dear Tun,
I don’t see any comment from you pertaining to the 2 Submarines that we bought…Can you comment on this. There are rumours and writing about the alleged corruptions on certain individuals.
I believe Tun should be able to shed some lights on this to all your readers.
    Thanks.

  138. Salam Tun,
My question here is not Wisma Putra but was the Attorney General ever consulted?
Why was it done in a rush over the weekend?
To give away or demarcate boundaries, the PM must consult Parliament then under the Federation Agreement (agreement that Sabah & Sarawak as well as Singapore sign to join the Federation and name as Malaysia) with Sabah & Sarawak, PM must ask them to consult the Legislative Assembly of each State. The Legislative Assemblies of each State must then take a vote as Sabah & Sarawak are sovereign States. Just like joining Malaysia then, a referendum was made and the people had a say as to whether they would like to join Malaysia. It not enough to merely inform the Chief Minister of both States.
If Sabah & Sarawak agrees, then it must be brought to the Duli Yang Maha Mulis Raja-raja Melayu. There must be royal consent to the demarcation of the new boundaries. Just like the Agong signing for the Federal Government and the Sultan of Selangor signing the new boundaries and territory of Putrajaya, it is for the Raja-raja Melayu to agree before anything can be formalies. The Majlis Raja-raja MUST agree BEFORE the signing of the Agreement with Brunei.
The danger here is, should the process not done constitutionally, then under the Federation Agreement, can Sabah & Sarawak pull out from Malaysia?
Why was Pak Lah in a hurry to sign the Agreement, when clearly and legally, he has NO powers to do so.

  139. Salam Tun,
Thank you for letting us know. That is a lot of loss. That wealth if channeled wisely could generate more wealth. That is how ridiculous his action was. This is only an example of a lot more wasteful decision he made. It is my personal opinion that making decisions that will boost the economy by the current government may at least make the people think ” we can now put the past behind” because ” we are now prospering with the current government”. Of course, the citizens will want to enjoy the benefit as evidence. Ideally, the citizens will want to enjoy the benefits for quite some time before the election. Which will give the message that it was not a part of the political campaign to win the next election. I hope the government have a solid and good plan. Not just a “maybe” or “guessing” plan.

  140. Malaysia’s generosity or Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s generosity? Or is it Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s stupidity?

  141. Badawi selling of US100 billion worth of oil to Brunie in exchange of settling the Limbang dispute

  142. “dpp, as I remember, you’re a laughable stock everywhere in blogsphere due to your incapability to digest issue by issue. As usual, you’ll just comment out of topic.”Malaymind.
    Bro,
What you “remember” like Tun’s famous selective memory, is born of your own bias and prejudice. Blogosphere is full of people like you who, when they can’t logically counter someone’s views or arguements against their pet subjects, hypotheses or hero, will label you a racist, laughing stock, malay hater and the like.
My question to you is simple.
If AAB and his premiership should be taken to task for incidents like this Brunei oil contract cancellation (and I agree he should be), why should Tun also not be held accountable for the things I listed out below and much more.
What gives Tun the right to demand explanations while keeping silent on those dubious decisons he made while PM that cost the Rakyat hundreds of billions of $, blocked legal action against his Cabinet Ministers and croneys, and many others their personal freedom without the right to defend themselves in court?
Don’t forget that Tun is still the Advisor to Petronas, as well as Proton, and when major cock-ups like this and others like the MV Augusta debacle occur, he always keeps silent on how it escaped his attention when it actually happened. Do remember that Hassan Merican and Tengku Mahaleel were appointed CEO’s by Tun and served under him for years. Yet Tun claims he is unaware of what happened!!
How can one continue to be Advisor to Petronas and Proton for so many years and yet not be held accountable when humongous blunders take place in these GLC’s??
As for my position on vernacular schools, if you have been following my comments in jebatmustdie and elsewhere, you should know I am in total favour of a single school system, provided some basic gurantees are given on teaching of English, mother tongues, male: female teacher ratios etc. Does that sound like someone who fits the convenient label of indulges in laughing stock behaviour or one who makes frivolous comments?
    dpp
we are all of 1 race, the Human Race

  143. Assalam mualaikum Tun,
Takpelah kita bagi diorang 2 blok ajer. Bukan apa pun. Company anak aku x dpt, biaq semua org x dpt. Padan muka Petronas. X bagi project tu kt anak aku.
Biaq pielah, kawasan tu pun bukan besaq manapun. Lagi besaq bangalow aku dari kawasan tu pun.
Meeting tu lama sgt, nk tido 4-5jam pun x sempat.
Janji leh cpt sign dan pie sambung tidoq lagi.
Nanti Najib jawablah, dia nak sgt jadi PM, x sabaq tunggu hingga pilihanraya nie.
    Tak pa.

  144. Kisah si LucaiLah ini tidak habis2. Satu demi satu terbongkar. LuncaiLah pandai main silap mata, depan main agama dan imam, belakang main derhaka negara menggadaikan Blok L dan M, Batu Putih, RM178M duit Petronas dll.
Tentu dia bukan main seorang sekurang2nya anak, menantu dan kroninya terlibat. Wisma Putra dan pegawai2 tertinggi kerajaan beliau turut bertanggung jawab. Mereka patut dihadapkan kemahkamah. Adakan Royal Commission, MACC ambil tindakan.
LuncaiLah memang kebal muka.

  145. Dear Tun,
Firstly, let me congratulate you on this expose Tun. Scoop of the Year would be an understatement. Every editor in this country (and in Singapore because they don’t like us and in Brunei because they must love us) would have gladly lose his/her job for this story!
The Malay Mail got Kit Siang this morning and predictably he has called for a Royal Commission to investigate how the blocs had vanished. No, he didn’t thank you for the expose. And that’s the other thing – if you had not exposed this and someone in the new Petronas president’s office were to leak the info out, there would be a major PR crisis for the PM. Or, rather, “another” PR crisis but one of proportions that nobody has seen before!
The timing of the expose, finally, is just perfect. If this had come out last week, BN would have lost Hulu Selangor for sure. Now we’ll only have to expect losing Sibu. Which means that, in the end, we’ll still blame you for something!
    Regards and salams.

  147. Salam Tun,
TQ for speaking up and surfacing this.
I guess there is only one explanation as to why Wisma Putra did not stop Tun AAB…because Wisma Putra is together with him!!! They did it together.
What a another sad episode in our country’s history.

  148. Pak Lah tak bertanggungjawab, tak amanah!! Hina nya kamu Pak Lah! Sakitnya hati aku…

  149. terima kasih abdulah badawi.

  151. To Rarunasalam…
Once and for all .. if Tun has ‘skeleton in his cupboard’ and is guilty of corruption when he was in power, don’t you think that LOSER in Hulu Selangor would have exposed Tun when he was appointed as a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department to oversee legal affairs???
We are not stupid and we are not blind. We have said it before and we will say it again…
IF ONLY MUSLIM COUNTRIES HAVE LEADERS LIKE TUN DR MAHATHIR, MUSLIMS WILL NOT BE IN THE STATE THEY ARE TODAY. ALL OTHER MUSLIM LEADERS ARE A BUNCH OF SELL-OUTS. PERIOD.
Tun, pls do us a favour..stop posting comments of Rarunasalam ,his comments only raises our blood pressure and make us sick to the stomach. It’s obvious that this guy’s hatred for you has impaired his vision, his thinking and everything else.

  152. Salam Tun ,
    Teruskan perjuanganmu Tun.

  153. Assalamualaikum Ayahnda Tun & Bonda,
    please allow me,
i believe many people will blame Tun again for appointing the sleepyhead AAB. many people failed to see the real picture behind the appointment. if only they could read the confession made by Allahyarham TSMegat Junid, then they’d know the truth. it was not Tun’s decision at first to appoint him but if only we knew how ignorant this person could be…that’s history…
since Tun has brought up this matter, i really hope some resposible parties or bodies can explain to us how could this be allowed? we definitely cannot hope for AAB to explain since he could have been sleeping through the meeting & signed the MOU with his eyes closed.
what a victory!?? much of a successor with a heart & mind of his own! has he got a heart & mind, eh dei?
someone accused Tun of dictatorial leadership governing. i say, it’s good since we could live harmoniously & many many people loved the way Tun handled things those days. i cannot find any dictator in history who stepped down & passed the baton to his successor like Tun did. unfortunately, this so-called a person with his own heart & mind now once again proved to be so senseless…
Bersih, Cekap, Amanah is never a rhetoric! many heeded Tun’s call to work efficiently by Tun’s examples – the name tag, punch card, office planner etc, etc but as usual there were many stubborn government servants compared to the honest, apt & trustworthy workers – in fact many workers in private sectors heeded the call, too. should we blame Tun for promoting the campaign? should we blame Tun for instilling malaysians with good moral values? now, must we blame Tun if people failed to heed his calls? even when with own parents, children fail to listen to them, what can we hope for from people who worked during Tun’s, especially those who hated/hate him still & some people now never bothered to respect Tun even in Tun’s blog?
there is also an accusation that Tun failed to make malaysia a true competitor and leader in this region. why blame Tun when people never heeded his call to change their mindset? too many were too engrossed in backstabbing, selfrewarding & becoming very materialistic with all the opportunities in front of them. well, do other countries have really achieved that as well? please bear in mind that if the malaysian people have no interest in moving ahead, never want to get out of their norms, never want to be united, just look at the many types of school this country has….
a true identity of multiracial country can only be achieved if one is ready to assimilate, integrate & adapt all the main national entities, main language & culture. can one really sacrifice his/her own selfish principles? will people sacrifice for once, their verbacular schools, to reduce or better to eliminate differences and opt for 1school for all? it’s practised in almost all democratic countries in the world. why cant we?
one can accuse Tun of many things but when touching the bail out, this someone forgot that Tun didnt only bailout his sons & cronies COMPANIES but also MANY OTHER COMPANIES indirectly during recession to back up our country (do some survey, please…your own company where you worked/work might have gotten the help, too). many people sacrificed their assets to help Tun revive our country. dont forget even the women turned in their golds, jewelleries to back up Tun’s pledge. me, a government servant deducted about rm14 monthly from my salary to help, too. no sweat. we survived. did this someone do the same then?
Tun’s sons have all the rights to be ministers or ceo’s or anything they would like to become because they have the capabilities, qualifications & most of all, the supports from the grassroots. please check the nominations for pemuda election back then. but the result was dissappointed because of dirty tactics by AAB’s SIL…every mat & minah in umno knows. even the SIL & his greedy-butt-followers know till today their illegal activities. they can take the truth with them to the grave…
Tun many a time said that he failed to change the malays to be better in many ways. i bet he has also failed to change the backward mindset of others since they never change from the current state to a desired future state, to become malaysians in a true sense…but who is Tun to chew more than he could? is there anyone in the world who can change people in total? dont be too naive, dei!!!
before Tun left the government, the 11th GE saw a very excellent victory for BN. 12th GE led by AAB was a disaster! was it Tun’s fault??? is it fair to blame Tun for AAB’s ignorance & actions? so much for a man with own heart & mind! poodah!!!…
it is a good change now and it’s getting better since DSnajib took over….we can go to work everyday, no one suffers from hunger like in many other third world countries, we can go for holiday once in a while, we can meet friends & relatives freely, we can entertain ourselves anytime we like, kareoke our lungs out every night if we may want…dont you do some of these activities as well? or you cant because you have all the grudge towards Tun…
we can enjoy life any time as long as we abide the laws. only the fools who go against the laws are not free to deserve all these…till they are ready to embrace the rules, keep out of trouble, they should stay behind the bars..
please use your senses before accusing, blaming others, like you accused Tun. check yourself first!!! what have you done for this country as its citizen? have you ever done something really good for your family? your old parents? your friends? the needy? the old folks? your community? your alma matter? your state? if you cannot even lift a finger to help Tun resolve anything except blaming him all the way, just dont babble here. punching the keys on the keyboard is easy but to uphold the truth of what you believe is not that easy…walk your talk first. move your butt from the chair & put yourself in the pioneer line for some good deeds. no point complaining when nothing comes from you. bah!! go & play somewhere….
    dearest Tun,
i saw you on tv this morning & felt very excited when you replied to the reporters that the other races must also separate themselves from the extremists if the want umno to stay away from perkasa…how ironic!!! we are all racicts, after all. but i love my chinese & indian friends who can accepy our differences in a healthy manner – chua, ashok, kang, ma, kumanan, yap, tan, choong, love you guys…we had a feast of pulut durian at the canteen yesterday & really enjoyed our time together. whether you want to take it or not, it’s up to you.
    …1malaysia is always here!!!
May Allah The AlMighty bless you both Ayahnda Tun & Bonda and all of us ever…after. May all the visitors have nice days ahead….
    Wassalam.
    just my brain wave….

  154. This is what happens when you give premiership to incompetent individuals who are more suited to spend all their time in the mosque or with their family, rather than in the highest political office!
Abdullah Badawi should have been tried for treason for Malaysia’s loss of Pulau Batu Puteh; now we have another treason charge against him!

  155. MashaAllah!

  156. Dear Tun Mahathir, I am surprised that you did publish comments which are negative or critical of your actions/in-actions during your tenure as Prime Minister.
    Good on you Tun.

  157. Assalamualaikum Tun.
WISMA PUTRA SILA JELASKAN KENAPA TIDAK HENTIKAN Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi?
Kalau Pak Lah dilihat ‘bodoh’,kita semua orang Melayu pun dilihat bodoh.
Sampai sekarang kita dilihat bodoh.Maybe info Tun pun tak betul semua, tapi WISMA PUTRA sila jangan lagi buat perkara ‘bodoh’.
    Sila jelaskan.

  158. Good morning Ayahanda Tun,
    May I…,
By Dess on April 29, 2010 10:20 PM
    ….
    3. To HBT, YB Nizar is half Chinese..
    Dear Dess,
It does not matter whether YB Nizar is a half Chinese, half Indian, half minangkabau or whatsoever, he represents PAS and was elected as MB in Perak. However, due to the 3 katak2 lompat, he was dragged down and BN took over the post. The Perak fiasco will serve as a political lesson not only to Chinese, but to all of us that local ‘ahli2 politik’ from parti2 politik cannot be 100% trustworthy.
Projects that are run by government cannot guarantee 100% profit because those who are appointed in the Cabinet are not because they are experienced and capable, they are selected by their own cicle of delegates from the political race base parties whom may not have the know how in running huge projects. The projects that seem to be fair and worthy are those run by Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Nevertheless, thank you for your information. This financial tsunami will make race base parties politically and economically weaker because they asked for it!!!
    Take care Ayahanada Tun.

  159. Our PM wants to raise the income level of Malaysians.
The Country has just lost USD 100 Billion due to AAB stupidity.
If each Malaysian gets USD 1 Million each from the money that we’ve just lost, there is still plenty left for the Country. That will make us a rich nation! Think about it…

  160. Assalamualaikum ayahanda Tun,
sorry to ask this qustion as i idolize and looked up to you highly. what happened to the 1 billion that we gave/lend to thailand to bail them out of the eco crisis 10 years ago?
would appreciate your kind reply as i am unaware of the agreement.
    Wassalam.

  161. just a hypothetical situation:
    USD100billion.. thats a lot of money…
lets say brunei gets USD 80 billion.. it will left another USD20billion to be shared between who ever is involved.
No matter how greedy someone is, im sure USD100 million per person is sufficient as a “gift” to those involved in transaction such as this (for me, USD1million is more than good enough). so USD 20,000,000,000 / USD 100,000,000 = 200 people. knowing that the Malaysian government is a bit lacking in terms of transparency, 200 people (which is a lot of people) can definitely participate in the cover up, if they want to.
The above is only hypothetical. Just to show how easy it is for someone to put greed over the interest of the country. I’m not surprised such transaction did take place. The big question is, if we can get a piece of the cake, would we? National interest or self greed?
As for the termination of PSC by Petronas, if only i can know what are the terms contained in the PSC. it would be good if I can just take a peek at the PSC itself.. oh wait, most likely i can’t because its just P&C.. its not meant for a normal Malaysian citizen.. the closest I can ever get is the explanation from officials and not the actual text in the PSC. apa boleh buat…
I just want to know: Who gets the pieces of the cake?

  162. Salam to Tun and fellow bloggers,
    1. Knowing dollah, nothin is for free…he highlighted bout Limbang just for cover-ups. Just like why malaysia had to sell ducati for 1 euro..then somebody made the money..likewise, issue brought forward was limbang, but somebody is making the money again. Just to distract several people.
    2. when I came across news about robberies, some how or rather i remember daylight robberies by PM. ministers, their next of kins etc…but the robberies where done right under our noses on the pretext of government policies, innovative ideas, compensations, etc
    3. If someone wants to run this country i.e face all the challenges with well-equipped tools (attitudes, knowledge, skills)like what you have demonstrated Tun, then that’s what we will achieve. But on the contrary, when a PM just wants power, money, satisfaction…that’s what he will get, like dollah and his goons.

  163. SALAM KASIH DAN SAYANG

  165. Salam Tun.
I’ve always believed that ex-PM Pak Dol was not qualified, but to be traitor as well?!
Pak Dol terminated the crooked bridge because he couldn’t get Johor to sell sand to S’pura & to allow S’pura fighter jets to spy from inside Malaysian space, but instead he announced “large majority of Johoreans don’t want the bridge”! Malaysia sent representatives to the Hague not in the best of preparations (under instruction?) thus S’pura were given ownership of Pulau Batu Putih! MV Agusta sold to ‘whatisthenameKJ?’ for RM4 and shortly after ‘whatisthenameKJ?’ sold MV Agusta to Harley & BMW for >RM600million! Now this (Blocks L & M given away, Brunai offered candy bars to his family?). What next?
The worrisome public then mentioned sarcastically that the kurang _jar (KJ) kid was the real Finance & Prime Ministers of Malaysia, and Pak Dol was only his spokesman. Consider these facts:
    1. Immediately after Pak Dol ‘no quality’ was sworn in as PM, the KJ kid did quick cleansing work to the Treasury & in record time, then asked Pak Dol to declare “Tun Dr M left Malaysia penniless”!
    2. Pak Dol proudly announced “no more ‘direct nego’ of projects”, which upset-ted the KJ kid who then turned the word around and ‘nego direct’ ALL projects with Patrick Bodohwi and other cronies.
    3. Pak Dol canceled Penang Bridge 2 & KTM double tracking due to insufficient fund and the costs too high, so as to allow the KJ kid to renegotiate and later awarded at several RMbillion higher for much smaller package!
    4. After a cabinet meeting reporters asked Pak Dol if the meeting was the last before PRU12 and he vehemently denied “No, there will be a lot more cabinet meetings before PRU12”, but 12 hours later the KJ kid instructed Pak Dol to ‘bubarkan Parlimen’.
And there seems to be no end to Pak Dol’s equivalent to the ‘Pak Pandir & Pak Kadok’ stories…..
BN (UMNO especially) will never again regain the glorious support of the past so long as the kurang _jar kid is still there. Beside being the no. 1 liability to UMNO/BN, the public are wishing the KJ kid be put behind bars.

  166. Dear Tun Dr. M,
    1) Adakah kita hilang kedaulatan & wilayah?
    2) We are not in war, why we lost?
    3) Again, the ABB is stupid?
    4) ABB to answer this, the government staff involved also to be inquiry?

  167. Tun
With due respect, I wonder whether there is any motive behind your bringing it up just becoz Murphy Oils Corp brought up the matter or was it this presented you the opportunity which you seized upon to further rub salt into AAB’s debacle as the 5th PM. The whole world knows about your feud with him.
Something smells fishy here. Firstly, why after so long only this was brought up by Murphy Oils Corp (the blocks were granted to petronas & Murphy Oils Corp in 2003). Is the present government under Najib well aware of this? Is Petronas similarly well aware of this ? (now that were are into 2010, seven years thereafter the award). Wisma Putra must be well informed of this since it has to deal with another sovereign country Brunei on this “trade off”?
A lot more bitten than can be chewed. Funny things can happen in BolehLand. Malaysia Boleh is TDM’s “laungan” to the world.
I wonder whether TDM is trying to say to the world that AAB squandered more wastage than him or is it TDM is still sore over being forced out as PM by AAB?
Nevertheless, we Malaysians cannot condone such gross wastage, no doubt but let us reflect upon ourselves and ask ourselves whether we are in the same boat before. It is akin to the pot calling the kettle black. Life goes on……but future generations here in Malaysia shall suffer.
Huhhh? I thought we should forget & forgive & be forgiven as any religion teaches.

  168. dear Tun, you may be the best in many many things..but when it comes to choosing the right guy you are hopelessly hopeless..all your handpicked have caused us great sorrow. This is the problem when Bosses only love the yesmans! So Tun don’t you think you are just as responsible for your poor decision making?

  169. dpp,
As I remember, you’re a laughable stock everywhere in blogsphere due to your incapability to digest issue by issue. As usual, you’ll just comment out of topic.
dpp, you should start telling your group to start thinking about abolishing vernacular school to make sure we have 1 school first. Just forget about something bigger such as ‘we are 1 race, the human race’ for a while. Success always start from a very simple step, my friend.
On Tun AAB, I’m waiting for Wisma Putra to explain. This is a fatal mistake that everyone in the previous government should be responsible of. Tun AAB’s obviously had chose the wrong circle to cooperate with.
We all should learn something for the future especially DS Najib. Don’t choose the wrong circle of advisors.

  170. Dear Tun Dr. M,
    1) Saya hanya pekerja kecil dan cukup makan.
    1) Saya berasa amat marah, kecewa, sedih dan “CRYING” with this story.
    3) Kerajaan mesti buat apa jua cara to take back Block M & L.
    4) Adakah kerajaan kita terlalu BODOH, Adakah tentera kita juga terlalu Bangang?
    5) Why? please explain
    Regards
    RROOSSLLAANN

  171. Tun M
one more thing …I would like to hear what Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim has to say about this matter as well…
given the discussions commenced around Mid 1990s, and Tun Abdullah was Foreign Minister doing your bidding, it would be good to get Rais Yatim’s comments given he would have been the one receiving the redemarcation documents which highlights who the rightful owner to this land is…
Oh by the way, if you want to argue that Tun Abdullah lost the position of strength in this argument, lets get HRH Sultan Brunei’s take on this as well, plus the organisation that completed the demarcation review.
Or are you and your gullible supporters only apt to insult and blame our former PM and that without facts?
    (Ravi)

  172. Dear Tun,
    1. The people serving under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are called Administrative And Diplomatic Officers. But their administrative skills are proven weak. Wisma Putra is at the bottom of the list when the government auditors released their accountability index report. If they cannot administer their office properly, I wonder how they can administer the country’s interests.
    2. Tun, you have made the best decision in selecting your immediate successor back then. BN did achieve unforgettable victory in PRU 11. Tun Abdullah is a nice man but many, including me, did not expect he made many wrongful decisions.

  173. Assalamualaikum Tun Yang Amat Dihormati,
Saya masih tidak berganjak menyatakan bahawa ‘he was the WORST PM we ever had so far’!Tambahan dengan menantunya, yang banyak mempengaruhi beliau.
Crazy idiotni, asyik skrip sama,Tun salah pilih.

  174. Even if block M and L is still Malaysian, I doubt very much if the average malaysian will get a cent of the oil wealth.
Afetr many years of independence, Malaysia is still dependent on oil wealth, is proof of the failure of our education system to produce creative, responsible and productive citizens who contribute to the nation by creating wealth and paying taxes.
Base on the above, the real traitor to the malay race and the nation, is the ruling party, especially UMNO.
Each and every UMNO members should be given a gun to shoot themselves or commit hara kiri.
The longer they hold on to power, the more regressive will the malay race become.

  175. Tun M
if you have something to claim – then do it sincerely and file a case.
Your constant heckling of Tun Abdullah is only doing you more damage as Tun Abdullah has no reason to retort.
Of course as Petronas advisor, I would like to know what are the internal discussions you have had with the board.
Your gullible supporters are insulting Tun ABdullah because they have no mind of their own to question your motives or research the facts, and they will only echo your sentiments thinking whatever you blog are facts.
But you know the discussion of demarcation have gone on since your administration – care share the discussion minutes from the time this subject was raised?
Of course not…because that would need for you to tell the truth…and that is quite hard for you to share given your vested interest…
I am hoping Tun Abdullah for once out of character would share the various dialogue and decision input you have contributed to this subject so we can finally know how much you’ll just play the blame game for your self serving purpose…
    (Ravi)

  176. Salam Tun,
Amin.

  177. Tun, do u think this is payback for borrowing money from Brunei during the financial crisis? This is the payback for Abdullah being a relative to Brunei sultan? All these are well known, but unspoken. Could this also be the pressure behind that caused you to let go of your job? Now we know who the most powerful person in Malaysia is…he resides in Brunei. No wonder Abdullah always pretend to be stupid. He’s not, and he was very bright when he served as foreign minister. He’s just the kaki pukul collecting money for the Ah Long.

  178. 1. Stupid 5th PM..
    2. To Crazyidiot, your name suggest that your are one…
    3. To HBT, YB Nizar is half Chinese..
Harap maaf Tun, kerana highlight comments dulu…
    Have a nice day…

  179. I do not know what else to say regarding the stupidity of AAB. He seriously believed that he was a King with absolute power to decide major issues all by himself. His actions do not seem to protect Malaysian interests. For this case we lost a huge amount of money to the tune of US$100b. The Malaysian government must consider charging AAB treason for this huge and unforgivable blunder. I do not respect AAB at all.

  180. I would question the entire UMNO system in selecting its leader. How did people like AAB managed to end up as PM, I dont understand.

  181. Dear Tun,
Thank you for highlighting this very disturbing issue.
While the Letter of Exchange may have been signed during Tun Abdullah Badawi’s administration, I wonder why didnt the current administration do anything about it if Malaysia stands to lose so much from such arrangement or agreement. The obligation to protect the interest of the nation lies in the present administration!
What do Malaysia get out of this? Rather, what have we lost? Have we sold the rights of our future generation? Malaysians deserve an explanation, especially as the Government of the day is promoting governance and transparency!
    Regards,

someone learn history and made his-sory for himself….everyone does….follow.
I recalled YBhg Tun much too often said, also in this web, that Ybhg Tun made the wrong choice.
Alas, Ybhg Tun is not wrong. The choice was correctly made but people the like, does change because of many reasons: greed , love, emotional disturbance, mental problem etc which was not there at all when the choice was made. Take for example, one of my past male-neighbour: the husband, loving, wife-caring and have 4 loveable kids, marriage for 20 years. On the 21st year he married a 2nd wife, and suddenly his behaviour started to change badly towards 1st wife. Why ?,, does the 1st wife made wrong choice 20 years ago ? It is not the wife, it is purely the husband who let himself be swept with mental problem, emotional upheaval, greeds for self-proclaimation, etc, letting the environment control his soul.
In mathematical wording: behaviour = environment + personality. Ybhg Tun has created positive environment (look at the people’s behaviour in Twin Tower complex, just to mention one place in KL, they are malaysian, many many behave rightfully, as citizens) to shape up good personality of the rakyat.
Positive personality and being in positive environment definitely shape up positive behaviour, at home and outside. YBhg Tun is surely a shy sifu, who often shy away to claim credits for the goods that Ybhg Tun has done for the country.
For our comrades in the …..u know the news…..go investigate… and corrective action.
Of course, as other sifu also said, being shy does not mean you are not coercive…..

  185. “Can Wisma Putra please explain why it did not stop Abdullah?”
    Tun
Can you explain why no Policeman or Judge, Minister or Ministry stopped you when you:
    1. Awarded directly negotiated contracts amounting to billions of $ of the Rakyat’s hard earned GDP money for projects like the NS Highwy, Petronas Twin Towers, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, InventQ Jaya, KLIA, KL Tower, PSC Naval Dockyard ($26 billion contract – Amin Shah) and many, many, many more!!
    2. Did not have Rafidah Aziz over the Bumi share issue fracas and Tj Ramli over MAS bankruptcy prosecuted even though many police reports were filed?
    2. Had 106 M’sians arrested and jailed under ISA in Kamunting without charge or trial, and opposition politicians like Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh were locked up for two years while most of the BN politicians were released in less than two weeks? In case your memory fails you, the infamous Ops Lallang of 27th October 1987 refers!!
I will endeavour here give you a simple reason why there was no resistance.
Because during your 22 year tenure as PM you cowed the people of M’sia into submission by wielding the ISA, Sedition, PPPA, Remand, Restricted Residence and Banishment Acts and other “laws” as cruel sledgehammers to instil fear.
AAB himself was then only following in your foot-steps and in the process we do not know what happened to some $253 billion of Petronas tax and dividends paid to the Federal Govt!!
So, who shall cast the first stone?
    dpp
we are all of 1 race, the Human Race

  186. Wisma Putra did not stop Abdullah because Tun, you were the one that put Abdullah on that chair. If they tried to stop Abdullah, they fear that they would also be going against you.
No doubt, Abdullah was a weak leader, but the person who put Abdullah up there, was none other than yourself.
This is the problem with “Yes” man all around the table!!.

  187. after Batu Putih, now comes the issue of these two blocks. what other precious and valuable properties are we going to give to our neighbour countries after this?
is it too late to protest? do our voice will still be heard? they’ve got what they’ve got, and we’ve lost what we’ve lost.

  188. Tun,
Seriously I do not believe this is the case of being “penny wise pound foolish.” Rather it is the case of being “smart” and being “reciprocated financially.” I am not making any accusations here but it simply does not make any commercial sense at all for Malaysia to forgo the two oilfields just like that. Common sense will tell that it is not a good move. Perhaps the “Advisor” has done his homework and may have cut a deal prior to the talks.
Yes, a good question why Petronas was missing from the said meeting? Well, even if they had been there depending on who represents Petronas whatever they say may not be taken into consideration.
The irony of it all wasn’t there any reports or background information at all prepared after all the issues to be discussed concerns national interest!
    So what now?

  189. Ayahanda Tun,
Do you still remember that no one can sentuh Pak Lah when he was the PM?
Even Dr M, the 4th Prime Minister was not allowed to meet Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Wisma Putra would not be able to stop Abdullah due to protocol and he was the PM.
To make it simple and straight forward, the best person to answer such question is Pak Lah himself on why he did that?
If he had made Malaysia lost such money, he should resign from all his current highly paid positions to serve as a punishment to those who have done wrong in order to be fair and equal.
    Good night Ayahanda Tun.
P.S. For those who accused Chinese are ‘tamak’, please look at your closets before you accuse the Chinese, and who gave them land in Perak? It was YB Nizar, PAS, who promised them land when he got elected.

  190. The Government of Malaysia must initiate a ROYAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY about this blunder. There is no two ways about it as it appears like a clear case of SELLING OUT this country of ours. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi must be held accountable!!!

  191. Salam Ayahanda Tun,
Dsah la menantu dia tu pengkhianat, jual harta negara, pak Mentua pun sama gak merompak KHAZANAH NEGARA!

  192. Assalam mualaikum Tun,
Personally in my opinion those ‘ sell off ‘ this cpuntry should be tried and sentenced. You can even termed it as ‘ traitor ‘
This is not only the first time AAB has screwed up this nation. The issue with Singapore regarding the Perdro Brance, the crooked bridge, etc has caused a lot of losses be it in monetary and territorial aspect.
The Government of the Day should consider hauling up AAB to get his explanation why he did this and that.
