This is a translation of the earlier posting KESELAMATAN NEGARA
1. During my time as Prime Minister, both the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister were jointly responsible for national security.
2. At times I held the post of Defence Minister while the Deputy Prime Minister is the Home Minister responsible for the police. At times as Prime Minister when I decided to assume the Home Minister portfolio, the Deputy Prime Minister would be appointed Defence Minister. There were only on a few occasions when the situation demanded it, ordinary Ministers were appointed to the Defence portfolio. This is because the issue of national security is of great importance.
3. On Nov 20, 1985, I led a massive private sector delegation to China because I believed there were abundant trade opportunities with China which had then only opened up to external trade participation.
4. I cannot recall Tun Musa (Hitam) coming up to me to ask me not to go to Beijing but he was, with many others, at the airport, to wish me well on my trip to China. Even at that time I cannot recall if he (Musa) had advised me against going abroad.
5. The Memali incident took place on 19 November 1985, a day before I left. In a police operation such as this, a tragedy could happen. In this case four policemen and 16 criminals were killed. Quite a number were wounded.
6. I was very confident in the ability of the Deputy Prime Minister to handle the situation that I appointed him as Acting Prime Minister. It was he who replied to YB Gooi Hock Seng (Bukit Bendera) in the Dewan Rakyat on Nov 20, 1985. YB Gooi had asked for a postponement of the Dewan Rakyat to discuss, the “Perintah Berkurung akibat Pembunuhan di Baling, Kedah” – (Handsard) – (Imposition of Curfew due to the killings in Baling, Kedah).
7. I returned home on Nov 28, 1985. When I was abroad, there were no incidents that could not be handled by the Deputy Prime Minister who was then the Acting Prime Minister.
8. Each portfolio came with its own set of responsibilities. In dealing with crimes, the responsibility was with the police. In terms of making a decision when there is a major threat to national security, the Minister is responsible, at least in endorsing the action to be taken.
9) Tun Musa admitted that it was his responsibility. In the system of Cabinet that we practise, all Cabinet members, especially the Prime Minister bears responsibility.
10) I don’t believe Musa foresaw the loss of lives resulting from his decision. As he had said in his reply to YB Tuan Gooi Hock Seng, “it is the duty and responsibility of the Government to ensure that security of the country exists at all times for the welfare of its citizens and for the overall stability of the country. This, the Government will not compromise…”
11) The issue with regards to me not being in Malaysia when the incident occurred was not spread by me. I did not mention this at all in my book. What is publicly known is that Dato Musa Hitam was the Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister at that time. The Inspector General of Police discussed and reported to him as the Home Minister. The Home Minister is also involved in making the decision on actions that needed to be taken. It is surely unbecoming if when things were going well, only then one admits to the responsibility.
12) It has to be remembered that the policemen were killed before they returned fire. It is very unfortunate that while the deaths of Ibrahim and his followers are remembered and they were even declared as martyrs, the deaths of the members of the security forces are forgotten.
13) Yes, this incident should not have happened. But do we allow it to fester and spread before we act? Look at what is happening to other countries now. Look at what is happening in some other countries now because the police are not allowed to take act effectively.
Hi,
Are you aware of V2K harassment (allowing people to project voices to others with a device) within Singapore?
Singapore has no provisions for such issues. Would you be aware of how you can deal with it?
It is painful to deal with, and the device is usable even when I am past Malaysian customs. I have no idea what kind of device this may be, but it is near impossible for me to block it.
If you have any advice, I would be glad to hear it
Thank you
Salam Tun.
At the time of writing (Sunday 20/4/2014, 9.30 a.m.) my house taps are still dry. This is already into the 3rd day running without water, disregarding the alternate 2-day period with & without water as given in the schedule.
The present water cut to our area (which started 2 days ago) is without warning!
Prior to the present water cut, we are having a 4-day uninterrupted supply, and noting the regular daily rain we all thought the water rationing has ended. Thus I believe all consumers were not prepared.
This is the problem of having a government voted in by nyonya sayur & gang.
I foresee other pertinent issues/problems will crop up in the future.
Salam Tun.
Water! Water! Water!!!
After more than 2 months of severe dry spell, causing Malaysia’s first home made haze hazards exceeding well above the critical level, water rationing in many states, and hundreds of uncontrolled hot spots and peat fires daily, finally the much anticipated and awaited rain came.
In fact rain came down everyday during the last 3 weeks. Even now heavy rain is falling down at my area. It brings relief to everything, the animals, plants, put out the hot spots, and the haze is gone.
Well, relief to almost everything except to Selangor folks!!!
During the whole dry season, water supply to my area was never affected. Then at the end of March, Syabas made the announcement to implement a staggered and periodical water rationing exercise, for the whole month of April.
As April entered its first week, there was still no water cut to my area.
Then on the 4th April rain came down, and almost coincidentally on the 5th April the first of the 2-day staggered water supply cut was carried out by Syabas at my area!
Rain has continued to come down daily since then, however my taps have been running dry since yesterday!
Syabas were flooded with tens of thousands phone calls from angry customers, and all kinds of swearing and accusations thrown at them.
Finally Syabas gave out the secret, ……the on-going water rationing was on the instruction of the Selangor state government!!!
Syabas made that announcement on the 8.00 p.m. prime time TV news bulletin.
Never before in my entire lifetime were water supply cut/rationing carried during a lengthy raining period.
Either the Selangor state government is really stupid (which is very unlikely) or the non-stop politicking has caused it to become really stupid!
Sudin, please do what you like, it wont affect me as taypayers, the cash cows. Hilang 2/3 in 2008, kini hilang 1/2 majority in 2013. Sudin dah lupa, malaysians are educated not like your parents era. Progressive or regressive, pilih sendiri.
Tun,
To aso HockBengTeoh half pastsic,
Quote: – ” Islamic banking is the only role model in banking industry to show that malaysians of all races have no issue putting their money in these banks”.
Haiya aso, don’t fool yourself. The chinese have no problems putting their money in these banks because it benefits them. Typical mentality of most Malaysian chinese.

Hive islamphobia will only made muslim felt threatened and terrorized, kan ketua agama islam negeri itu adalah sultan. During tok det era, racism is exploded to extremism. When comes to my generation, 50 percent racism is minimized. When comes to next generation 100 percent ravism will no longer exist, thats why dap, pas and pkr won gracefully in 2008. Islamic banking is the only role model in banking industry to show that malaysians of all races have no issue putting their money in these banks. Why bad mouth tun musa hitam now? You mean as a political veteran before he dies, he cant clear his name? Yeah, in post internet era, go hive May13 again, who will suffer? Umno baru saja yang suffer because they ask for it.
Sorry tok det, pls dont get angry if I said something mean to racist big mouth to minority karl. Jik tok det tidak dapat 100 % support dari parti2 cina, you think you can talk big like tuntuah. Go fly kite yourself.
Salam Tun,
All too awesome. A Malaysian government ruled by the Muslims like what Ibrahim Libya, or even Guru Yahya, had in mind will surely destroy the nation. Musa did the right thing to quickly finish off the extremists’ game, but he however is not willing to bear the guilt alone even if the credit would have earned him a gold medal from the US administration. It is just not worth it. Some are led to believe by the PAS shamans that Carlos Musa died in the Highland Towers tragedy for the sins of his father, and therefore the retribution justified the blame and recorded in history as such.
Musa a.k.a. “The Butcher of Memali” has revisited the episode, but this time round with a different tune and twist to cast aspersions on our beloved Tun, at a time when PAS and UMNO were in soft agreement to not disagree on the Hudud issue in Kelantan. Elsewhere, the DAPigs are feeling the heat of the slaughterhouse, at a time when even secret Chinese cargo and precious passengers are no longer safe to use or abuse Malaysian services and hospitalities. Avoid Malaysia, or we’ll make you disappear in thin air or water. Your choice.
The motives behind Musa’s move is perfectly timed to strike fear and create confusion from all quarters to welcome Islamophobia closer, and in conjunction with Obama’s upcoming trip to the country. Najib is sure to get a loud pat on the back from Obama considering the way he and his younger but cleverer cousin Hisham handled the MH370 situation, or even a passionate hug if he could prove or show proofs that Islamophobia is here to stay in Malaysia forever.
Chinese checked. Muslims checked. Enter Sandman.

It’s interesting to see the Shariah Court blocking the High Court’s verdict. The Shariah Court’s earlier verdict still stands until this day. Seems to me the Hindu wife needs to apply to the Shariah Court to have custody of her child.

We must not be distracted by the propaganda as spewed forth by HockBengTeohhalfpastsic who popped up after a re-training session following the gigantic loss of the Opposition at the 13th General Elections. Now, the Opposition’s leaders are in disarray with no substantive issues to provide them with a platform and their ground troops are trying their level best to raise the ire of the BN front line troops by shooting paper arrows in all directions. This will fail.
National Security and Censorship go hand in hand in all nations.
Our experience in this National Security thingy and Censorship is different than those advanced countries who had participated in wars over and over again since the 18th century. From then on through the two World Wars and the Cold War, a firm nexus was developed between the Governments of the day and the Fourth Estate.
We in Malaysia are far behind these Western countries in purpose and action. We have much to learn from them how to censor without any official body to govern the outflow of the ‘right’ information permitted to be disseminated out to the masses or proletariat.
I remember in 1945 in the Colaba district of Bombay that a United States Information Service centre was already established and was adequately stocked with free and beautifully colour printed copies of the ‘ USA ‘, ‘ Time ‘, ‘ Life ‘, ‘ Newsweek ‘, ‘ Saturday Evening Post ‘ etc. This Centre was like an oasis to take refuge from the mid-day sun for me with its air-conditioned facilities. On the other hand, for lack of other reading materials, I was enthralled by all the American propaganda offered to me who enjoyed them as a boy.
This experience is just one tiny leaf of the great tussle between the West and Communism during the Cold War in which Communisim imploded, 1948 – 1989. Both sides utilised their propaganda machines to the full and expense was unlimited. Jewish owners of Western publications were supporting the West in full cry and Jewish journalists on the other side were doing their best to please their homeland of Russia. Censorship was stringently applied.
I remember I bought a Chinese brush painting in London and the Singapore Customs impounded it in the post in 1970. I had to appear personally to explain to an officer of the Special Branch that the painting was harmless even though there were some calligraphy attributed to Mao Tse Tung ! This is the sort of censorship we know as laymen.
The other form of censorship which is operated at the top level is more insidious and assiduously applied at the very top most of the control and censorship chain through licencing This is generally applied in the general interest whatever this means or as regards Jewish interests, as one political pundit said, ‘ He who pays the Pied Piper, plays the tune !’
For centuries after the Diaspora, the Jews made inroads into the Western Civilization through money-lending. As the West industrialized, they advanced into academia, entertainment, textiles, media and finance . But the latter was still barred to them till the early part of the 20th century and they had to prove their worth through the likes of the Rothschilds and others in war and peace. With the advancement of the West in all things, the Anglo-Jewish nexus grew closer until the Balfour Declaration after World War I.
The Rothschilds were the main proponent of this venture which arose out of a promise by the British that if the Jews sort out the technical problems of the machine gun, they would be permitted to establish their Promise Land. But the British reneged on the deal and assumed the Palestine Mandate which governed the Palestine left by the Ottoman Empire.
By World War 2, Hitler made sure the Jews were one of the matters of contention between Axis and the Western powers. This time it was the race to build the atom bomb. The very survival of the United States and Britain depended on winning this race. Secretly, all the top Jewish scientists were gathered together in the mid-west and worked on the atomic bomb. The Americans won and the rest is history as we know it.
I cited the above examples of the centuries of close co-operation between the West and its survival, and the Jews of the Diaspora even though there were progroms in Spain and other parts of Europe.
The bond between the political aspects of the West and the Jews which were developed over centuries – a bond which gave rise to the self – imposed censorship of news concerning anti-Semitism, is difficult to break. As long as there is a politicised relationship between these two parties, anything which is seen to be an enemy, will be blotted out.
The State of Israel or whatever was born out of great schisms in human affairs which were moved by the great powers in the past. The British abandoned their Palestine Mandate and the Palestinians with it, in a hurry after facing up to the Stern Gang, etc. This was their duties and responsibilities whch they abdicated. But as time went by, the media as controlled by the West and the Jewish lobby became part of the National Security of Israel nilly-willy. This shows how National Security is treated seriously by all developed States together with their panoply of spies, tycoons, swallows and ducks etc.
As far as I am aware, there was a run down of our Special Branch after the Communist Insurgency tapered down in the 1980s and by the 21st century, it was alleged that Special Branch Reports were not taken seriously. And this was topped off by the repeal of the ISA leaving the populace exposed to security threats of all kinds.
As all and sundry are aware, the Republic of Singapore spied on the sexual peccadilloes of her abang adeks since 1972 and passed the information to Third Parties. And that the compartmentalised nature of the trans-Causeway dissemination of each other’s news should be strictly limited but only Malaysia observed this scrupulously since 1965.
Malaysian news and comments were openly published daily in the Singapore media. For example, it was routine for the Singapore Business Times to give their pompous and sanctimonous advice to the Malaysian Government through its juniors until January 2010. And up and coming young Malays of UMNO were given the Institute of South East Asian Studies forum to lecture. This would be followed by a glowing report of how smart this fellow was the following day. Or on retirement, very senior Malay Civil Servants of the Malaysian Government would be quickly honoured by a piece of paper by the National University of Singapore. No Chinese has ever been so honoured.
This continuous effort focussed on the Malays in particular and the Malaysians in general was topped off by the parachuting of a PAP cadre into the Chief-Editor’s chair in the 100% UMNO owned New Straits Times newspaper. To make this fellow comfortable, a luscious Sime Darby contract was placed on his lap ! In Singapore, this fellow was only a digit or cohort in the legion.
Obviously, the interests of the Republic of Singapore is best safe-guarded by the Chief Editor who signed off every daily edition of the 100% UMNO owned New Straits Times besides given him a retirement baksheesh at Malaysian expense.
Tun, with the globalised world and the World of the Web, the cross-links between different entities are all the more closer. No one can deny that large businesses of any sort are not owned by the Jewish people. But the interesting aspect of their relationship with the West did not even begin with Hitler. It began centuries ago in the distant mists of time.
At least , whoever are the sinister hands behind this everlasting game, your comments on all subjects should be given fair play, transparently and fairly as befits a Statesman of the World, a Malay because anything untowards would give the impression that these folks are no better than those whom they decry, like Hitler !

http://www.thestar.com.my/Opinion/Columnists/Analysis/Profile/Articles/2014/04/12/What-kind-of-game-is-Anwar-playing. In the past, BN way of politics is a game, a behind scene political game is when Malay winner takes all with 2/3 majority, they will taste the life of elites with power of authority. To Anwar and his component leaders, they have to do it to win the next general election is to show Malaysians that what BN can do, they can do better. Pakatan Rakyat is a malay version of Malaysian Malaysia, kan MOE kita mempolisikan pengunaan Bahasa Kebangsaan for all courses in all subjects except English and Bahasa Ibunanda in primary and secondary schools under MOE for those who are born in the 1963 and after to make Malaysia an industrialized nation by 2020. Nasi dah jadi bubur, change or be changed, that’s the way to go.

Hehehe aso hbt, gua mau kasi tau org cina lah banyak tipu tax dan epf…
Tak yah tipu la aso. Org melayu tak kisah gst tapi org cina sibuk tak mau gst. Apsal? Sebab tak leh tipu tax lagi ma…
Awalatan tak yah malu la.. Melayu sekarang ok. Sememangnyer Allah lagi menyesatkan peliwat tersohor tu… Allahuakbar.
Aso hbt apsal lu takut dgn umno baru? Sbb ge akan datang umno baru menang lagi.
Oh ya kater singapork pujian aso tu best. Apsal aso tak bising pasal singpork nyer gst? Apsal aso tak duduk singpork aje????
Aso suka duduk tanah melayu sbb boleh menyalak.. Kat singapork tak leh menyalak….kene tangkap kalau menyalak

Pendatang memang bermasalah… Ishhh ishhh ishhh
Aso adelah salah satu contoh pendatang yang buat masalah….
Politicians can make poor decisions. I was in putrajaya, and I saw coach pasar bergerak 1malaysia with malay selling pasar stuffs to the employees there under fama twice a week. I am okay with umno baru using tax payer monies to help nelayan dan pekebun melayu, but if umno baru asyik fitnah yang bukan2 without thinking deeply the impact of race unity, wawasan 2020 is just a dream, a dream made in haste through isa by making politicians rich overnight. Sedih, sediih…….
http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014/04/11/MH370-RMAF-search-plane/
After spending millions of the malaysian tax payer monies by pmo for granting official invitation to the president of the usa to visit malaysia to improve bilatreal trade, why rubishes of cnn news, umno baru leaders? A small country like us is volatile to global crisis that needs fdi to earn revenue for the country to run the economy. Mahu undi melayu saja ke, atau undi untuk menangangi masalah ekonomi kita, let malaysian decide who sit putrajaya in next ge.
Alwatan, you ini pandai main angin politik saja untuk naik pangkat, tapi buat tak erti. Asyik fitnah yang bukan2 saja. This is why malay are split into 3 politically. Melayu macam ko ini memang mudah lupa, selfish, greedy and never appreaciate our votes.
Salam Tun,..izinkan saya..
HBT ungkit lagi …”the chinese here who contributed most taxes and epf” dan ini yang di laung dengan bongkaknya oleh mereka.
Dulu tax saja, sekarang epf pun dah masuk.
Orang Melayu ramai menjadi kakitangan kerajaan, mereka bukan peniaga. Ramai Melayu lain pekerja swasta yang makan gaji.
Cina monopoli bidang perniagaan dan pelanggan mereka sebahagian besarnya adalah orang Melayu tadi, keuntungan perniagaan mereka dikenakan cukai.
Orang Melayu patut rasa malu, kita dihina.
Ia perlu melibatkan keseluruhan rantaian perniagaan. GLC perlu terlibat, syarikat bumiputera kecil dan besar perlu ikut sama, kerajaan juga perlu membantu, kakitangan kerajaan perlu malu dan sedar, penguatkuasa perlu bersungguh-sungguh pastikan “keadilan” dalam perniagaan. Jangan sebab “hadiah” yang sedikit kita dihina. Tidak, ini bukan “racist”. Ini halatuju negara kita sekarang ini nampaknya.
Selamat malam…
Tun

There are at least 2 kinds of corruption :-
1. The crude form of corruption. This is commonly widespread.
2. The legalised form of corruption as carefully structured by highly educated people in positions of power, duties and responsibilities. This benefits the 1% elitist group at the expense of the 99% who are normally enslaved by the structural academic requirements demanded by the 1% elite in power. For example, how many persons can be the First in class in a year ?
These 4 people are american citizens.
Tire, malay wont loose malaysia, but umno baru will loose if they go against cnn again to make non malays lagi benci umno baru by janji abu. Anwar ibrahim, khalid ibrahim adalah melayu jugak. Dont forget 3 adults and an infant were the victims in mh370 flight.
Assalamualaikum Tun.
Terima kasih Tun.

Salam, Tun,
1. Why was I not surprised “Memali” came back to haunt you? Because THIS IS HOW MALAY IS SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL.
2. Do not go far. Let us look back at “Malacca Sultanate;” an era where history was recorded (by non-Malay, of course). What did we learn from it? (Please focus on big events only, not those other petty events that Malays, traditionally, like to make a big deal of!). Forget “Hang Tuah” whatever. Let us analyse what had happened to the Sultanate, the State, and her Culture.
3. Obviously, we know now that we lost Malacca because Malays fought and betrayed each other. Same with what had happened with Penang then. Today, we have lost Penang (again) and Selangor. Soon, Johor. (Forget Kelantan; it is a lost cause). These are rich states, and BN/UMNO is never going to get it back unless they were seceded by DAP to BN/UMNO just like what the British did previously. But, what are the chances that would ever happen? Nil. Zilch. Elek. Is not something uncannily dissimilar happening here?
4. Once Malays have lost Malaysia, what do you think they would do? They will start by b*tching each other; then, they will disappear into the Sunset (Dah takde rezeki, apa nak buat? Occasionally (like with “Memali”), the question would resurface. Then, they would b*tch each other again. And again, once it becomes “cold”, they would walk into the Sunset, again, until they each die naturally (just like those Arabs that they idolize in the Arabian Peninsula).
5. Bila Melayu Nak Maju? Please somebody show me one Malay that we can be proud of to call our own (Forget the Tun; he is Special!). NONE! Nearest perhaps, are those “Sapura Siblings!” How about others? None, is it not? Why? Because THIS IS HOW MALAY IS SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL.
6. I rest my case.
Sekian, Tun, terima kasih. Wassalam.
P.S.
7. I am not going to talk about Putrajaya again, as it hurts…
8. Those who knew Tun Musa Hitam personally, knows that he is the opposite of you. That was the reason why he could not work well with you. You are like an Angel whereas he is like a Devil!
Assalamualaikum Tun.
Bila saya mengaku menjadi penasihat dan menasihati Tun, ia kelihatan terlalu bagus.
Hakikatnya, appraisal saya tahun ni adalah zero. Tiada bonus, increment dan promotion.
Hanya disebabkan head chef saya tak pandai mengurus department. Maka, saya dijadikan kambing hitam.
Diibaratkan saya, kuli batak yang kelihatan macam head chef tak tahu mengurus.
Itulah kehidupan.
Terima kasih Tun.
After the mh370 case, Prc national tourists can choose to lawat indonesia, thailand, loas, cambodia, myammar, singapore, vietnam what, betul tak yb nazri? Jika kerajaannmalaysia tak nak berkawan dengan negara china, tak da masalah since they can make friends with countries that truly want to build up bilateral trades with them, contohnya, bullet train.
This is why we read news of civil wars in the middle east now, always blaming the jews in israel. Even thailand’s demonstrators, pdrm, army and politicians are moving to the world standard of human rights rules to avoid bloodshed of the past which is a good sign headingbtowards developed nation.
And because of this incident the current kdn minister proposed jakim officials to hold firearms like what pdrm is doing in the parliament? I dont know what is in his mind, but I truly believe our bn and pr muslim politicians still do not live up to the world standard of human rights. Recently, an ang mo told me that malay are weak, chinese race is corrupted in malaysia. I told him to look at singapore, chinese dominated the government and yet they have successfully become the least corrupted country in the world. Because malay are constantly propagated with fears of being slaves in own land like sibotak, the malay politicians will continue to be weaked because they spent too much time in thinking how to rampas, to kill, here and there, always blame the chinese here who contributed most taxes and epf for the country. If kelantan wants to implement hudud, ds liow and mr karpal singh, et it be because it wont hurt malaysian taxpayers. Why? Because pas head quarter in kelantan has opt to go for zakat, which means, they can only be mb, but not pm o f malaysia.
