2. The recent Bersih demonstration in which the demonstrators are obviously violent has given rise to the accusation of police brutality. Even the pictorial and video evidence that the police were violently attacked by the demonstrators have not stopped the Bar Council from accusing the police of brutality.
3. There were it is believed some 250,000 demonstrators. i.e 250 times more than the police. They were violent. They broke the barriers set up by City Hall to stop the demonstrators from going into the Merdeka Square. Obviously from the video clips and pictures the demonstrators not only broke the barriers but attacked, literally attacked the police who were tasked to keep the demonstrators from breaking the barriers. They chased police cars, shattered the windscreen and overturned it. They kicked a policeman who had fallen on the ground.
5. Obviously they must try to stop this hooliganism. They had a need to use force. They cannot just stand by and do nothing or allow themselves to be beaten up or allow public property to be damaged. To prevent this violence they need to use force.
6. In other countries they would not just threaten but would probably shoot their assailants. As far as can be ascertained they did not use their side arms. They must have restrained themselves.
7. I would like to see what members of the Bar Council would do if people kick them, smash their cars’ windscreen and overturn them. They would be running to report to the police. When the police are assaulted who do they run to?
8. We owe much to the Malaysian police. It is not a perfect force but we do feel safe and secure when they are around. How would we like to do away with the police altogether? How would we fare if the police are not allowed to use force against their assailants?
9. Next time let’s have members of the Bar Council to keep law and order during violent demos and riots. I am sure Bersih 4.0 will be free of violence as the demonstrators would not be stopped from breaking rules and laws.

Wawasan Melayu Tanjung
(bagaimana mahu capainya)
Nama tempat pun baik – Rainbow Paradise.

You have a lot of commonsense and logic. I can confirm that from October 1951, I have observed most of the public personalities on both sides of the Causeway, and believe you me, at the end of the day, there are hardly any one left who could stick to their principles and their guns like some of our Prime Ministers before 2003.
I have always voted for BN because I am still of the opinion that it represents the broadest range of interests of the populace in relation to the cultural and historical past of Malaysia. Despite of a moment of weakness in leadership, its detractors’ platform is similar to the BN.
It is better to vote for those you know rather than those you do not know.
Maybe for all future elections, the candidates must declare all their assets at home and abroad !
Askm Tun & fellow bloggers.
Ok, many have been said about police brutality. Why not for once let the authority call their bluff. Next Bersih 4.0 if any, let the organiser take charge of their supporters to do peacefull demo by just sitting at Dataran Merdeka for 2 hours as they have demanded.
They, the leaders of the organisers , must be made to undertake total responsibility for any violation of the terms they have agreed and the consequential loss of lives, injury caused, damages to properties etc. if they lose control on the behaviour of their supporters.
It would be interesting to see what happen.. There will be a win-win situation if nothing bad happen. But if demo become uncontrollable, the organiser will loose face and authority will regain their power to continue in carrying out their crowd control activities as outlined in their SOP in the future. The organiser need to charges in court for negligence and to pay any claims for compensation to the public or individuals, as awarded by the court, as it sees fit.
Meanwhile, other intelligence activities must also continue to be undertaken by the authority/police such as to closedly monitor the movement of the leaders locally or overseas, to investigate their sources of fund and to identify foreign element supports.
Yes, call their bluff for once…and see what happen.
Dear Tun,
Please allow me to quote mubarakchan,
I quote
“Then, one questions how come the impeccable Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim could not be accepted by this impeccable political party ?
Does this not beg another question ? Is this political party impeccable enough to control the reins of power in the corridors of power at Putrajaya ? Is this the myth or is it the fact ?
I have seen so many individuals who claimed this and that and when confronted with tons of power and money became another person.
Who are we to believe ? Then, we must rely on proven records and not on back-stabbing by recalcitrants.
Naturally, the citizens of this beloved country must choose wisely and vote for the strongest incumbent party now in Putrajaya especially the Malaysian Chinese who are best treated in the world – better than Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the rest of the world. This is the Malaysian Chinese hour, their finest hour if they vote for the incumbents – For the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and the beloved Country, Malaysia.
No Pandora’s Box for us, Malaysians. No Bersih-bersih either.”
DAP only wants a Malay puppet and Tunku Aziz is no puppet on a string to be manipulated. DAP is a dictatorial party that only pays lip service but tolerates no dissent. I don’t think the Malaysian Chinese need a racist chauvinist party to champion their cause which may jeopardise good will, harmony and friendship with the Malays.

Salam Tun,
Someone asks “i hope this person/s, (middleages) will stand up and be counted when bersih 4.0 comes along. wonder if he feels safe writing his comments”.
1. Yes i do feel safe, in Tuns blog only.
2. I will not repeat my statements outside of this blog, because i will be murdered faster than you can mix instant noodle at 7-11. Furthermore or worse still, if i am sued in court, i will find it very stressful as i have no money to pay anyone ( UMNO took it all ). So no, what i say is for your ears only.
3. Zulkiflee will be the first to want to kill me, followed by Amin Tan, and finally Prof Ridcully waiting in line while reading a book called “Islamic Economy”.
4. Thank you for your concern. I feel my comments are accurate, but in case i am wrong, please point it out and correct me. Where should i feel unsafe ? I did not accuse Amin Tan of sodomy, so why should i feel insecure ?
Thank You Tun

I read with dismay the resignation of Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim, a Vice-President of a political party due to a difference of opinion with the leadership.
Tunku Abdul Aziz, a fine gentleman of excellent character whom I had known and respected for over 40 years is a true son of Malaysia. Throughout his career he excelled in all the tasks given to him. And it was only right and proper that at this juncture of his long career that he found a proper forum to impart his wisdom and experiences to all of us who were not so advantaged.
It was no surprise to me that he join this particular political pary who used a brand of brainwashing similar to that used in some other neighbourhoods e.g. meritocracy and academic qualifications.
But somehow, Tunku’s great compassion and love of the country and its people blinded him a bit at the onset in his quest to do good. But then, it is better late than never.
This mythical belief in meritocracy is now slowing proving to be a myth due to the failure of the match between fact and fiction – raw propaganda. It is linking money with academic qualifications, no more, no less. A complete mirror image of a university as applied to Government and other agencies.
How many of us can be the first ? Only one ! Or it is only applicable to the 1% elite only and not the average and normal 99%. Like this, we end up with dynasties, political family dynasties.
These are all the same whether in our beloved Malaysia or Timbuktu.
In fact, a meritocratic pyramid set up to put the smartest fellow at the tip failed miserably in some countries. So much so, not only they lost huge sums of money in October 2008 but literally killed off their own kind by tinkering with the demographics – the last person who did this was Hitler and we all know what happened to him. And now these countries are forced to import by the thousands of heads to match those who should have been born a generation ago. Unfortunately, some of these imported fellows treat their new found homes as play grounds and became playboys-a-la-mode to the utter disgust of the local inhabitants.
Then, one questions how come the impeccable Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim could not be accepted by this impeccable political party ?
Does this not beg another question ? Is this political party impeccable enough to control the reins of power in the corridors of power at Putrajaya ? Is this the myth or is it the fact ?
I have seen so many individuals who claimed this and that and when confronted with tons of power and money became another person.

No Pandora’s Box for us, Malaysians. No Bersih-bersih either.
Peace!
Did Marina Mahathir mention that 65 people were hospitalized because of the rally and only 2 of them were the police?
Did someone say that these people had been attacked by the demonstrators, not by the police?
Did the demonstrators attack the police? YES they did and 2 policeman were hospitalized.
Did the police beat up the demonstrators? YES they did also.
I bear witness that all of us, myself, the demonstrators and the police are not perfect human beings.
I do not wish to make false accusations to the demonstrators or to the police but we may watch hooliganism act by both the demonstrators and the police in youtube and photos.
I condemn all hooliganism act by the demonstrators and the police during the Bersih 3.0 in Kuala Lumpur.
I congratulate the demonstrators and the police for the peaceful act during the Bersih 3.0 in Penang, Kota Kinabalu and all other cities around the world.
I also condemn all biased reporting and biased comments by both the Bersih 3.0 supporters and Malaysian government supporters.
I also congratulate all fair reporting and fair comments by anyone, anybody.

YABhg Tun,
For a change, maybe they should have their
BERSIH demonstration in the kampung. Property damages would
be minimized and the peaceful surroundings would
have calming effects on everbody. Infact they can even
do ‘gotong royong’ BERSIH kampung!!
i hope this person/s, (middleages) will stand up and be counted when bersih 4.0 comes along. wonder if he feels safe writing his comments.
Is the Bar an appropriate forum, legally, or morally for issues which are clearly of a political nature? Isn’t the political arena more appropriate? The Bar seems to be singularly lacking in maturity.
Professionals in their professional roles and associations should confine themselves to matters within their technical competence and interests. Where they have concerns or opinions which can only be addressed through the proper exercise of their right to vote and parliamentary politics, shouldn’t the Bar as the protector of the principle of law, adhere strictly to this demaracation?
Was this denied to them? How so when we effectively have a two party system?
Tun
On the Bar Council, it has been turned into a political forum instead of that of a professional body concerned with the standards, ethics and propriety of the legal profession.
The Bar Council should clean out their own Augean Stables which are now full of thugs and dacoits.
For example, 2 members of this august body have put up a website committing fraud, sedition, unethical, non-professional behaviour, libel and slander against their former client. This website displays confidential documents from the files of their ex-client who was only too glad to part with them but paid them for what they were worth because they were incompetent. This sort of behaviour is a very good reason for them to be struck off the list.
The Bar Council should now know what to do best in the national interest of the Nation and the legal profession if they are like Caesar’s Wife beyond reproach !
My 2 cents worth:
The one that was up loaded in the You Tube by a group who is against the police. Thus obviously they only shows police brutality. Similarly, when the Bar Council send in their so call watch group (perhaps watch dog is a better term) these idiots only record or report the bad things about the police. These idiots are a bias lots of people who thinks they are lawyers they are above the law. To the Bar Council, i pitty their mothers who carry for them 9 months and the father who worked hard to send them to school and to become a lawyer. But they turnout to be a bunch of prejudice lots of idiots. How can they be representing their clients if they are not fair in their judgement. Perhaps these bunch of idiotic lawyers will stop at nothing find fault with the police.
BE FAIR!!
Dear Tun,
I wish to congratulate two individuals for good postings, namely MiddleAges and HBT456.
Different countries have different methods of policing.
In England, police are visible and clearly very audible in their police cars with very loud siren. They are very mobile and within 10 minutes they will be at the trouble spots. They are very alert looking.
In Malaysia, the police are fond of setting up road blocks to catch motorbikes and cars with expired road tax, and other petty offences. With regards to violent BERSEH 3 demonstrations by PKR members, it was a blatant and audacious challenge of the rule of law and authority. The perpetrators should be severely punished to teach the hooligans a lesson they won’t forget. The demonstration at the Tiennanman Square and the Chinese methods of handling them should be adopted by the Malaysian police. China and Singapore are very effective in dealing with the Opposition. That is why there is peace and prosperity in China and Singapore. Malaysia is a third world country and the Opposition is asking for First world’s freedom of assembly. It is just an excuse to agitate, create unrest and destabilise the government. The Opposition has evil and sinister intention to topple the legally elected government of the day through illegal extra judicial means of violent street demonstrations, bloodshed and wild destruction. Very sadly the Bar Council is biased and sympathetic towards the wrong doers mainly due to racial and unfair lopsided views of the members of the Bar. The Bar Council has always been anti Malay.
In Singapore, there is literally no police man at all. It is such a calm and peaceful, although serious and austere country. They use electronic technology of cctv as 24 hours round the clock surveillance of the whole of Singapore. clever. Absolutely efficient. The best in the world in terms of policing. It is exactly like the book 1984 written by George o. Well, about Big Brother watching over us all the time. There is no dispute as ‘it looks like me, but it is not me. The stomach is different’ kind of weak argument. cctv can be rewind and played back. It catches you from all angles.
We should do likewise at least in the Klang valley first. There is no intrusion of privacy in public places so that nobody can indulge in destruction of public facilities and claim police brutality. Singapore is a safe country. It is well protected from baseless defamation from the Opposition, violent street demonstration like BERSEH 3, snatch thieves, petty or serious crimes.
I like HBT456, Mubarak Chan because they would vote BN. I hope MiddleAges would do like me, vote BN. Vote for peace, prosperity, stability, racial and religious harmony and progress.

Salam Tun,
1. It is not possible for PDRM to be non-biased and professional. I am not talking about Bersih demos, i am talking about policing at all other times, including demos.
2. Why i say so is because PDRM consists mainly of Malays. And Malays will not tolerate another Malay who is different. All Malays must be the same, no one must stand taller than another. No one can profess some other religion or no religion. No one can wear mini-skirts.
3. Religious people know this and use this weakness to the maximum for their own satisfaction. They go home satisfied having done their religious duty, at the expense PDRM work and effort and our tax payer money. They think God or Allah is well pleased with them for “defending” the religion.
4. No one can stop them. And they have PDRM on their side. If we allow such people to roam our streets, we will never advance, we remain stuck in the middle ages. It is better therefore to allow Bersih people roam the streets.
5. But PDRM cannot do so, they have to obey the government of the day, not their good conscious.
6. And so we need to change the laws. DS Najib is unable to respond. So we need a new PM.
Thank You Tun

The rules are initiated and many are made by the members of Bar Council.
The police are here to enforce the rule, i.e the Bar Council is above the rest. The rules are made for the benefit of members, to ensure members can earn money. Silly rules are made such that it is not practical for police to enforce, if not done, the police get the blame. How could v sue Ambiga if she made such rule for us?
It looks that law study does not breed responsible and honest lawyers. Those rectors in menara gading, pls realize that law study does not breed law abiding lawyers. Check your syllabus, many things are wrong the way it is being taught. Look, 2nd year student at UiTM was seen kicking policeman. Lawyer in Banting involved in horrific killing, v lost a couple of islands to Spore because of lawyers’ treachery, etc etc
Are there any rules to pursue the sublime evil of Bar Council members? If not, please, those politicians get together and initiate something useful for the nation and Msians. There are too many rules for ordinary Msian but none for bar council members. Even the King and Sultan are subjected to rules and special court. We want special rules for members.
We have heard enough of bar council members cheating property buyers, raking unbelievable money in drug cases, taking care of justice in money negotiations, cheating documentation to achieve needs, propagating communism, engaging lewd activities, etc etc.
Many of the members are above average wealth with bmws, mercs, crvs, 4x4s etc. Their houses are like small palaces. I am not saying they are not sincere but the majority is not.
As for the police, to the general population, the police look weak. The police must beef up its investigations and initiate serious prosecution for activity of mass disruption by individual or group of people. I believe there are some lawyers working in police force, better start doing transformation in this area.
Tun, if we ask bar council members to safeguard the crowd, they’ll tell u a No No because they’ll say, it is the job of government, job of police. Of course, they already made the rules, and they’ve done their parts. Living in this uncivilized country like Msia is not easy because of these renegades.
Tun, bar council members are not God given, God does not create evil through bar council members. If there are evil from there, it must be Syaitan. If we have no rule for Syaitan, then we can only pray hard to God for the demise of all Syaitan of all types in the bar council.
Wishing u happy days, and thanks for having this website.
Hi, I as a student would like to say a few things too. What I hear from my friends is they don’t really understand what the purpose of Bersih is. That does not even involve the police yet. But what Tun just wrote are really accurate and true. Sometimes even with proof, people just don’t want to be tolerant and their ego will eventually consume them. That is all from me. Until next time. Thank you.
Salam Hormat Yg Bhg Tun,
Salam Tun,
Just a few points…
8. We owe much to the Malaysian police. It is not a perfect force but we do feel safe and secure when they are around. How would we like to do away with the police altogether? How would we fare if the police are not allowed to use force against their assailants?
1. Do i feel safe and secure to see police personnel around ? Heck, NO ! Tun.
2. Would i rather do away with the police. Yes please, even if it is but a dream. Yes, I understand we need the function policing, but I want to be able to select my own police man from a selection of people trained for the job.
3. How would we fare if police did no use force ? A lot better, a lot safer, a lot more respect for the police, a lot more “pahala”, a wiser public or mob. Those who are out to really bash the police, they can be granted their wish. The police can make arrangements for them to show their talent in a fair manner, in a boxing ring for example. I am sure the violent aggressors would oblige.
9. Next time let’s have members of the Bar Council to keep law and order during violent demos and riots. I am sure Bersih 4.0 will be free of violence as the demonstrators would not be stopped from breaking rules and laws.
4. I think this is a good idea indeed. It would give the Bar Council an opportunity to lead the way, and show how a peaceful protest can be managed and thus at the same time convince people they should respect the law.
5. But of course the laws themselves must be fair to begin with, if the Bar Council is filled with non-Malays, they will not understand this. Malays have two laws to obey ( some have more i know ), religious laws as well as civil laws to obey. Thus whether the Bar Council can maintain their policing role in a religious demonstration, i am not so sure. But certainly they should be given the chance to police.
6. Tun has said that the courts are not above political power. Even simple traffic rules do not apply to religion, you Bar Council people expect religious people to obey courts ? Serious ?
7. There are now three kinds of Malays, UMNO, PAS and Keadilan. Assuming the Chinese and Indians stay out of the Bersihs and Street Demos and what not, at the end of the day we still need to vote for one type Malay.
8. I let u think for yourselves what kind of Malay you would prefer as your friend.
Thank You Tun
Salam Tun
Those Bersih leaders are too dirty that is why they need to be Bersih for good in the next PRU 13 election. They keep on projecting all the bad images of Malaysia overseas and said the current government are full of corruption but they themselves are dirty and corrupt as well. They event corrupt the mind of young generation and promote violent etc.
Why Bar Council did not condemn those demonstrators jumped on top of police cars and clearly attacked the police with stones etc. A policeman nearly died that day. Did any of the demonstrators seriously injured that day…anybody in ICU /Coma ?? Those demonstrators clearly broke the law and should be punished .How come Malaysian Government cannot take action against the organizers ?? Why Bar Council is too bias.. do they want police to be killed first for protecting the law ?? What kind of lawyers are they??
Ybhg Tun,
TK.
Good morning YAB,
10. After 54 years of celebrating Merdeka day and 2 years of Malaysia Day, 90% of our PDRM “discipline” workforce is of Malays and Bumiputra monitored and regulated by Menteri Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (KDN) appointed by the Malay PM approved by the Malay ruler, YDP Agong, Malaysia.
11. 90% of the highly educated professionals in Bar Council management staffs are non-Malays and non-Bumiputra.
12. Those Bersih 3.0 participants who have broke the court order on 428 must be punished to uphold our Federal Law of Malaysia today.
13. Similarly, those police “discipline” workforce who have tarnished PDRM image being accused of police brutality must be punished internally by KDN to uphold our Keluhuran Perlembagaan & Kedaulatan Undang-undang.
14. KDN has discipline and civil codes that can be used on police brutality as majikan.
15. KDN does not need to make press statements or RCI for this action because PDRM is not paid Hollywood nor Bollywood fan clubs.
16. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad used to remind us that “Cikgu kencing berdiri, murid kencing berlari”.
17. Did someone force Tuntuah and Khairul-Dean do what they don’t see fit?
18. Nevertheless, the journey in Sudan and Nigeria made Tuntuah loves Malaysia more.
19. Welcome home to Malaysia, Tuntuah.
20. Similarly, it is not our culture and tradition to accept non-Malay as PM and DPM in Malaysia.
21. It is not Singaporean culture and tradition either to accept Indian as PM and DPM in Singapore.
22. It looks like DS Najib is ready to call for our 13th general election to keep Malaysia going after being tested kow2 for more than 3 years.
23. My vote shall go to PM Najib because he deserves this most challenging job after working day and night via his influence as President UMNO and BN Chairman.
24. Age is catching up with Anwar.
25. PKR is a small Malay party formed after Anwar was sent to jail via lunch value at RM1.00 saja.
26. What will happen to PKR if they cannot hold Selangor to feed PKR members?
27. Most probably, they will return to UMNO and PAS lead by their own race via free burger lah.
28. Give PR gold, it will turn into stone used to baling the authority due to general election because PR said that they work for the people.
29. Give BN gold, it will turn into property, financial services, commodity, forex, industry and infrastructure via education that will make a small country resilient to USA presidency election in every 4 years.
30. Komtar and her Penang Rapid Bus Terminal that carries Tun Razak name needs a facelift too to attract rent seekers, entrepreneurs and tourists.
31. Biologically, Tun Razak is Najib’s father.
32. Nationally, Tun Razak is Bapa Pembangunan Negara Malaysia.
33. Internationally, PM represents Malaysians.
34. Thank you, DS Najib and BN for transforming Pudu Raya into Pudu Sentral today for us to travel inside Malaysia via coaches comfortably at unit price affordable to Malaysians and foreigners.
Good day, YAB.
Peace!
UK’s population 54 million. Malaysia’s population 28 million. 17 people being shot dead by the British police in three years period. 88 people being shot dead by PDRM in one year. PDRM is 15 times better than the British police. Or maybe the other way around… crimes in Malaysia is 15 times higher than UK? Or maybe both? Anyway, congratulations to PDRM in making Malaysia a safer place to live by killing the criminals/suspects. Keep on shooting them!

Whatever happened, whoever were involved… we must UPHOLD JUSTICE to all parties involved and DO NOT BE BIASED towards certain party(ies). Being biased means being unrighteous and GOD does not loves those who are unjust.
[5:42] THEY ARE UPHOLDERS OF LIES, AND EATERS OF ILLICIT EARNINGS. If they come to you to judge among them, you may judge among them, or you may disregard them. If you choose to disregard them, they cannot harm you in the least. But IF YOU JUDGE AMONG THEM, YOU SHALL JUDGE EQUITABLY. GOD loves those who are equitable.
[4:135] O you who believe, YOU SHALL BE ABSOLUTELY EQUITABLE, and observe GOD, WHEN YOU SERVE AS WITNESSES, even against yourselves, or your parents, or your relatives. Whether the accused is rich or poor, GOD TAKES CARE OF BOTH. Therefore, DO NOT BE BIASED BY YOUR PERSONAL WISHES. If you deviate or disregard (this commandment), then GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
[5:8] O you who believe, YOU SHALL BE ABSOLUTELY EQUITABLE, and observe GOD, WHEN YOU SERVE AS WITNESSES. DO NOT BE PROVOKED BY YOUR CONFLICTS WITH SOME PEOPLE INTO COMMITTING INJUSTICE. YOU SHALL BE ABSOLUTELY EQUITABLE, FOR IT IS MORE RIGHTEOUS. You shall observe GOD. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

The time has come for the Malaysian Chinese to affirm their loyalty to the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and Country and seriously question the motives of those who want to takeover the cushy jobs of the incumbents.
For some it is alright to run around in the streets. But in the case of the Malaysian Chinese, we must be seen to be more than ‘ Caesar’s Wife ‘ always hardworking and law-abiding – what our parents and grandparents taught us. And this we should never forget, like all Chinese around the World.
The time has also come for the Malaysian Chinese to stand firm and united as one together with the other communities in the face of the external and internal challenges which face us – or else, future events may unfold which will bring down the noble house called ‘ Malaysia.’ and the Malaysian Chinese as well – to the enjoyment of those who used to laugh at us at our faces !
Copy-cat demonstrations called ‘Bersih-bersih’ are now served out to the delight of the foreign audience and their political commentators.
For how long is this charade is going to stop ? Now that the Pandora’s Box has been opened, no one can really guarantee that others might not demonstrate too. And who knows what these others will bring ? Any of the 84 NGOs ?
The Malaysian Chinese must seriously ask themselves to what purpose and motives do the organisers have in the real vested interests of the demonstrations. I am of the opinion that if any of them received cash or kind, the whole charade is put into doubt.
Whatever the reason, it is obvious that people only woke up on the threshold of the 13th General Elections.
And why no demonstrations of the same ilk before each of the 12th previous General Elections? Some of the leaders were around for over a generation !
Is it not strange that no questions were asked by the populace at large ?
Some of the leaders come from dynasties of professional politicians who have taken part in not one but many general elections. So, everyone has a motive but no ideological political philosophy. As a result, it is just a quarrel with hatred the main priority.
Sri Lanka or Isle of Serendipity began somewhat like Malaysia in its political scenarios as long ago as the early 1950s. Political family dynasties jostled around during the power play on the road to the top of the political heap. Family fortunes were made and lost. Eventually, the whole political scenario became lop-sided as we see today.
The British expected independent Malaya to fail. But there you are. We are now going to do the 13th General Elections.
Thanks to the humanity and multiculturalism as practised by the Royal Sultans of yore and the successive Governments since 1957.
Collectively the Malaysian Chinese should now stand firm and united with the other communities and vote for the strongest incumbenr political party.
And the Malaysian Chinese should not be weakened as before by being misled by the nay-sayers who are actually very rich as professionals or else…
we will be defenceless and weak like a cork bobbing in the ocean.
Tun, I will always stand behind you and support you……
You make me proud of Malaysia and being part of Malaysians…..
good riddance the police hunting these hooligans one by one. I support the police all the way
Salam Tun,
And not a second too soon Tun. In fact they’ll be complaining if the police don’t arrive within 10 seconds of their call.
Hishamuddin has announced an enquiry into the events at the bersih demo. I honestly don’t think an enquiry by the Home Ministry is necessary. I think PDRM handled the situation very well. There was nothing brutal about what they did. In fact I think it was pretty tame.
It is pretty obvious that the police left the protestors alone for most of the period. It was only when the mob charged through the police lines that the police acted. It is also obvious that when they have to act, police forces everywhere will use water cannon, tear gas and physical force to restore the situation as happened in Seattle and London recently. So what’s the big deal about police brutality?
It made me smile when I saw a poster saying “Welcome to Tel Aviv” put on the barricades — if it really were Tel Aviv, the guy putting the poster would have had a rubber bullet put between his ears by the police. It would have missed his brain no doubt but I imagine the echo would have been deafening.
There were cowards too at the demo. I have often wondered why adults would want to bring small children to political rallies especially one where the intended venue was declared off-limits by the courts. Many of them brought small children and babies. If they were so committed to whatever issues Bersih was bringing up, why do they need to hide behind babies? Are they so thick that they think that there wasn’t a chance that things won’t get ugly? Obviously not. They were using babies for shields against possible police action. Worse, I suspect that they were secretly hoping that a child would get hurt — not their own of course, but somebody else’s — then they could bray that the police were monsters for hurting an innocent child but taking care not to mention that it was them who brought the child there knowing full well that things could get out of control. I don’t mean to be callous, but a child injured or killed during a melee whether through police action or not would have been a godsend to some of these people. Then all hell would break loose.
It’s pretty obvious Bersih’s organisers want to internationalise the issue and to that end coverage by international news agencies is crucial. But a quiet sit down would have been boring. Noisy yes, but boring. Hence the need to stir things up. That’s a familiar SOP of international [read, Western] ‘human rights’ and ‘champions-of-democracy’ NGOs. It’s a trick as old as the hills — instigate a reaction from the authorities and then shout ‘police brutality.’
So, I couldn’t help but smile when the Al-Jazeera correspondent reporting on Bersih seemed almost apologetic when he had to report that the mob made the first move and the police — to use his words — ‘despatched them fairly quickly.’ It was so unspectacular that he spent most of his time talking about the tear gas and ‘mopping-up operations.’ Basically he was saying that there was nothing newsworthy about Bersih.
Now I’m sure the government — and many Malaysians — are aware that Bersih has some support from foreign NGOs. The questions I want to ask are, aren’t certain NGOs funded by foreign powers and used as ‘perkakas’ for foreign policy by these powers? Shouldn’t questions be asked about the affiliations of certain political leaders to foreign NGOs? Shouldn’t questions be asked about the funding of Bersih? And shouldn’t political leaders who advance the agenda of a foreign power be treated as traitors? Many Malaysians draw a line between having a political fight on our own just between us and one involving a foreign power. Like many Malaysians I don’t like quislings no matter how ugly the party in power.
Dear Tun
I am a big fan of yours as I see you as a man who was brave enough to make Malaysia how it is now, Had it been somebody else, most Malaysian could very well be a nation who has to export its labour to survive.
Also I agree 98pcent of what you have been commenting about the malays in Malaysia and also matters concerning Singapore.I am a Singaporean.
I dont want to offend anybody, but some Malaysians are still as they were like before not active to build themselves and still has the ‘tidak ape’ attitude.
Anyway, I was near the Dataran Merdeka rally on that day-out of curiosity. In Singapore those protesters would have been locked up before they even set foot in the monorail.
Here the Govt has been giving in-at times too much and they took advantage of it,naturally. They themselves abused the freedom that was given.I agree that UMNO is not perfect but they are better ways to improve.
I was there as a tourist with my family aririving at abt 1230hrs. Almost all have dispersed,I thought that was the end of it.
There were a few hooligans who taunted the police and throwing bottles. I was quite surprised that the police did nothing other than shouting at them to stop.
Then things turn ugly when police had to charge at them with water canons etc.
After abt 2 hrs, I thought it was over when the police commander called his men to gather,After clapping hands and shouting out some inaudible words, I was taken aback when the police ran after the yellow shirts and beat them up without warning,I was among the crowd and chased after by the police.I was lucky I did nt get hurt.
After abt 30 mins and quite a distance police was seen chasing people around including the innocent public who were doing their shopping.I saw an elderly couple and family shouted at by the police and told to go home. They were having meal but the police did not care.
I notice most of them are young policemen perhaps who had just completed police training.THEY BEHAVE LIKE HOOLIGANS TERRORISING THE PUBLIC.
I was very disapointed by their actions.Few hours ago I respected how they carried their duty but now they had become hooligans-terrifying people.
It was a scary moment…one who was to defend turned aggressor.
I felt the police should have been more careful in their approach.
They need not be like the protesters to overcome the problem
I hope this will not happen again.Me and other tourists were terrified, some of them were even seen crying,
I doubt they will visit Malaysia again
Had Anwar and Ambiga done that in Singapore, they will be locked up and forgotten.
I wish they had done something different to resolve the issue
🙂 I like it
Tun
As you are aware that this new Malaysian political phenomenon of street demonstrations is a recent creation since 1998. The organisation of mobs to demonstrate in the streets to demand for the Government to bend down to address certain issues which are apparently unfair or unjust but not quite proven.
This may be the only country in the world where heavily subsidized citizens with full stomachs of probably KFC or MacDonalds, take to the streets to demand for more. And where is all this is going to end.
Even an august body like the Bar Council is in play.
For some it is fashionable to challenge the authorities by donning something yellow. We have seen it all before on the TV screens but were these Thai demonstrators heavily subsidized by the Government with scholarships so on and so forth ? Their motive was entirely different from the maddening crowd which held sway in Bersih-bersih.
By confronting the ultimate authority of the Government which is the Police, I can only assume that the hatred so engendered in the young hearts and minds, burst forth in a torrent of thoughtless actions without care for life and limb. This is mystifying in Malaysian democratic terms.
How does one become so hateful in a peaceful, stable and prosperous land like Malaysia ?
How come droplets of the venom have been inculcated in the minds of the young that all will be well practically overnight by the physical demonstration of a massed mob which could turn either way in the helter-skelter of fear and confusion.
And the leaders who organised all these phenomena, how culpable are they if the young, the old and the infirm are killed or injured or anybody for that matter ?
There must be searching questions to be answered in a holistic civil society.
As far as i know, friends of mine in PJ were accosted with pamphlets to march for Bersih 3. They were grandmothers. They told me they had not a clue what it was all about. That was the truth ! Not a clue !
For the Malaysian Chinese, the Bersih-bersih are no picnics. The Bersih-bersih do not draw on your patriotism and loyalty to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. But the Bersih-bersih may make a fool of all the Malaysian Chinese as dupes for the unworthy causes of others.
This is a time of reflection and dedication to the wherewithal of our existence in this happy land in which our forfathers came and we were born.
This is a time for all of us, the argumentative English speaking Malaysian Chinese and the somewhat introverted Mandarin-speaking Malaysian Chinese to ignore the call of the sirens of the Bersih-bersih to march with them.
For what purpose may I ask ? To put them into power in Putrajaya ? We Malaysian Chinese might as well march for ourselves if needs be. Why march for others who are as yet unproven ? Don’t be silly and foolish !
All the Chinamen around the world would definitely laugh at us Malaysian Chinese as a bunch of morons marching to put others into absolute power, at the risk of life and limb ! We Malaysian Chinese would be the laughing-stock of the International Chinese World that we are stupid to do so.
The Hong Kong Chinese only began to march after the British left. But before this, they were definitely ‘no class’. Some of them even called themselves ‘Ramsbotham
The Malaysian Chinese should not be used by others with ulterior motives. Search your minds and hearts and try to fathom the fact that we are as unique as our beloved Malaysia in every way. Look at those who are riding the high horses who are not in power and their motives. They are all doing very well, thank you very much ! Most of them are multi-millionaires if not millionaires. Thanks to those they now hate !
Search your hearts and minds again and again to avoid being stupid.
i asked a friend once, ‘ Have you ever met a stupid Chinaman ?’ He replied, ‘ No.’ I continued ‘ But you have met some of them who are so clever as to be stupid’. And I reeled off a few household names. He laughed loudly !
So Malaysian Chinese, your own future is in your hands. Vote for the strongest incumbent political party in the land. The one that has a record which served you well through successive governments.
We, Malaysian Chinese, should find it impossible to support any candidate who riots in the streets to be the Prime Minister in this holistc civil society.
We, Malaysian Chinese, should also remember what our parents and our grand-parents taught us when we were young – respect the aged, have filial piety and work-hard. Surely, we have not forgotten !
Tun,
Depa hanya pandai mengata polis sahaja. Tapi apabila Orang2 baru buka gerai burger dihadapan rumahnya dah panggil polis, Cakap tak serupa bikin.
Dear Tun,
You are partly to be blamed for the impotence of the Police Force in combating riots today when you allowed Tan Sri Rahim Nor to be charged for bashing Liwat then. What Tan Sri Rahim did was wrong was secondary. But the Police Force lost its effectiveness after their IGP was committed to jail. There were minimal street crimes before that incident, and we the law abiding people felt very safe. Serious crimes were severely dealt with by the Police. Our malady today is that the politicians fail to understand that the Police will not be able to perform their duties effectively if they expect them to be on morally high ground all the time since they are dealing with people who do not respect law and order.
Dollah Badawi completed the demoralization of the Police Force during his time.
Oh well ! Those were the good old days gone by.
Thank you Tun for allowing me to criticize you.
To Joshua Lopez belajarlah menerima kebenaran..awakpun bukannya perfect.
Assalamu Alaikum Tun,
Tun, saya memang meragui tindak tanduk majlis peguam ni.
I think may be Tun should log in to http://www.youtube.com and watch the clip of Bersih incidents … there are so many clips (UNCENSORED) there
one of the famous clip that u can watch is how the car was attacked, and why the car was overturned …. seems like Tun is watching the censored version, that’s the reason why Tun don’t know why it was overturned … haha
When America is using the same excuse like Tun … “to stop hooliganism. They had a need to use force” …. and attack other countries … don’t know why Tun complain about it …
*this comment woll not be published for sure … haha
stop this hooliganism. They had a need to use force
Bar council is just a stupid organisation and bias. Everythings are the government fault.
These lawyers should be hang as you suggested. Like metallica songs, Kill them all, seek n destroy,
Bar council is just a puppet.
And today news, ambiga feel not safe due to perhimpunan infront of her house. Her neighbour felt not save as well. LOL. It is funny. She organised bersih eventhough there are a lot of protest and she dont care. Why she care when people like to berhimpun depan rumah dier and feeling not safe? Haiyo, mau pusing pusing ka aci? Dier boleh buat orang lain tak boleh buat? Ni mcm fatwa pas ajer… Pundek lah.
Tun,
Do you know the real truth about the reason why the police car was overturned and smashed up? Or did your advisors keep you ignorant?
Now, in a seperate issue, there’s a ‘Yellow family’ here who’s family and history has tainted this country very badly. This family hungers for blood, i believe it’s a hereditary sickness which you once dealt with nice and proper but today it’s haunting the rakyat again. This family must be reminded that what ever their justifications may be, they are absolutely below the LAW. If they are left to continue their ways, it would only make the rakyat question the need of maintaining this ‘Yellow Household’. The government has invested billions in this state and we cannot afford it to go down the drains. International Business & Investments will go on stand still. Simple Logic calls for this family to be replaced with a Governor. Period.
Tun.. I really upset with the Bersih Organisers.
They always blame the Police and they really want to change the Government. And whatever the Government do, they will try to dismiss and make sure that the Police (as agents of Government) are the culprits. As if there was no good things at all the Government has been doing all this while.. What they want is to CHANGE the Government and they want UMNO to step down.
They want PAS, PKR and esp. DAP to rule the country.. Whatever contributions which have been made by the UMNO-MCA-MIC (BN) were nullified because right now they want the Government to CHANGE.. Now they create many propaganda and acts of deceits plus negative connotations to all BN Component Parties…. ALL ARE CORRUPT and MUST BE DESTROYED… AS IF THEY ARE THE ANGELS FROM HEAVEN TO TAKE OVER THE COUNTRY…. TUN… I WONT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN… BECAUSE EVEN THIS IS ABOUT TIME.. IF BN TO DESTROY… I WILL MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE SILENT MAJORITY (NON-BN AND NON-PR) RAKYAT SUPPORTERS TO ENSURE THAT ONLY A KHALIFAH (ISLAM STATES NOWADAYS HAVE GOT NO KHALIFAH) TO RULE MALAYSIA……. AND THE KHALIFAH SHALL BE THE ONE WHO IS REALLY COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN!!!!!!! THAT’S MY PROMISE!!!!
Thanks Tun…
