PUTRAJAYA

I would like to wish all Malaysians a very Happy Deepavali.

1. I believe people must have noticed a certain architecture associated with Putrajaya. The brown colour of the buildings set it apart from other major development in the country. The design of the buildings also differ from those usually found in this country.

2. Then there are the mosques which reflect Islamic features while not being reproductions of those in other Muslim Countries. The five-domed Court building is perhaps the most impressive (some people think it is a mosque). Each Ministry building has its own design with each having some distinct shape so that they are different from the others.

3. The mosques too are unique with one being more traditional and the other ultra modern. Yet they blend with the architecture of Putrajaya.

4. Unfortunately a new building has been added which is made up of glass, with no architectural features. It is not very imaginative as it looks like match boxes stacked on each other. It would be fantastic for New York but it is not Putrajaya. It is not very Malaysian or Islamic. It is in fact entirely out of place.

5. Of course this is only my opinion. Others will think otherwise.

6. I was in London recently. There you may do anything you like inside the house but the facade must remain as it was when it was built. You immediately know you are in London when you are in London.

7. It is the same with Paris. The roofs of the buildings in Paris are unique to Paris. And you immediately feel you are in Paris and nowhere else when you are in Paris.

8. I would like to think that a century from now people would know they are in Putrajaya because of the uniqueness of the city architecturally.

9. Every country has its own architectural feature. Spires and steeply sloping roofs are common in East Asia but each country has its own particular shape. Thailand, China, Korea and Japan all have the gracefully steep sloping roofs which terminate with upturned corners and edges. But still they manage to be unique for their countries through the variations in details.

10. For that matter every state in Malaysia has its own unique architecture. We never had high rise buildings. For a time we did not know what to do to make these skyscrapers look Malaysian. But now we have brought back the Malaysian roofs to top our high rise buildings.

11. They are actually utilitarian. We had flat roofs before. But somehow rain water manage not only to form puddles which refuse to evaporate, but often they find some cracks in the cemented roof to leak into the room below.

12. But with the roofs there are no more puddles and the water does not leak into the room below anymore. I am sure somebody will tell me that the leaks are still there.

13. The high rise flats in Putrajaya also have roofs. But the buildings are not enclosed entirely in glass like in America. They are different from the main boulevard with its ministerial building but they do not stick out like a sore thumb like that pile of glass boxes sticks out.

14. Please Putrajaya Holdings, please keep the uniqueness of Putrajaya’s archictecture.

  1. Assalamualaikum WBT Yg Bhg Tun,

  2. Tun

    For Middle Ages.

I would never dare to make pre-conceived and personal comments on another person whether he or she is a friend or not. It is dangerous to do so.

Someone commented, dear Middle Ages, that you live in Subang Jaya.

Then, you must have benefitted tremendously from one of my concepts whom I assisted others as well. And yet, you seem to be unhappy. Strange.

Then, like all common folk, you raise the prospect that I am old and going to die. No problem. I was prepared for death since I was born on the lst day.

But please take my advice, we are all going to live up to 100 years, not because of the good doctors but because of the good medicine.

My dear Middle Ages, in life, we must have ‘ good health, happiness and money ‘. I wish you well even though you never die.

BN. All Malaysians will be in good health, happiness and prosperous if you vote for BN under the leadership of the UMNO. I will vote for BN under the leadership of the UMNO till I am 100 years old or longer.

  3. Salam Maal Hijrah Tun,

Mungkin benar kata Yg Bhg Tun, Melayu memang mudah lupa. Menukar kerajaan bukan seperti menukar baju.

Sama-samalah kita fikirkan. Terima kasih dan Wassalam.

  4. Salam Tun,

I am of the opinion Mubarak Chan has been exposed to the kind of Malay that needs crutches to move about and will only do so if prompted and persuaded by him.

He has perhaps never met a Malay who needs no crutch, no prompting, no hymms or songs to enable motion, and who will state without doubt that he is alive and well, and needs no government aid. And that he refuses to be pushed aside or made as subjects of “baby sitters” like him.

So i think Mubarak Chan must indeed be a very old person, of a generation which employs the instrument of coerce and deception to rule and prosper themselves.

Or perhaps i could be wrong.

    Thank You Tun

  5. Tun

I am not surprised that I have raised the ire of some of my fellow citizens because they have never come across such reasoning, facts on their purported heroes as ingrained in their minds through decades of brainwashing etc. Hence, I am duty bound to present the facts as these have happened. I have not spunned, twisted, or try to brainwash anyone in favour of the BN under the successful leadership of UMNO. Facts are facts.

To add salt to the wounds of the detractors, I say again that you, Tun, is one of the greatest Malays ever as supported by the facts and your deeds ; and history will confirm this is so. Facts are facts.

There have been complaints that I occupy too much ‘real estate’ on this Blog. These persons do the same too. The privilege of my existence on this Blog rests with the Administrators.

I am pleasantly surprised that there are such complaints ( phantom detractors? ) because I was banned from the Opposition blogs after I was the only one who defended the principle why Datin Seri Rosmah, the wife of our distinguished Prime Minister, was properly awarded a Doctorate because it is the freedom of all unversities in the world to award such doctorates. For example, my college in my former University awarded a Fellowship to Li Ka Shing who spoke and read no English. See the fact. See the fiction.

For a whole lifetime, since October 1951, I have observed, listened, studied, rationalised etc, the deeds of our leaders in Malaysia and those in Singapore.

At the present time, my conclusion is there is no running away from the resounding success of Malaysia as led by the BN under the leadership of the UMNO, in its survival and resilience as compared with Singapore which has been successfully self-destructed through the over-cleverness, the over-eagerness and the over-egotistic attitude of its leader Lee Kuan Yew who ruled over such a small place for over 50 years, 1959 to 2012 arming himself with the world’s best weapons and brigades of aging Gurkhas. Over the same period, Malaysia had 6 Prime Ministers. Fact is fact.

And here we have on this Blog, some of my compatriots who are not confident and sure of themselves about our beloved country Malaysia because they have been told the untruths. And find satisfaction in attacking their own kind without rationale !

Ladies and Gentlemen, we do not have to be like Icarus flying towards the mid-day Sun or like the awesome Lee Kuan Yew who has admitted making some mistakes which can only be titanic ones. Vide. Channelnewsasia. Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs. 2009 to 2012. Financial Times. London. Gillian Tett. ‘Singapore’s Harvard Investment Model’. April. 2010. The Star. Seah Chiang Nee Column. Saturdays. The New York Times. Lee Kuan Yew. 2010. Singapore lost US$108 Billions ( RM 250 Billions ) of her citizens Trust money in October 2008 on Wall Street. ‘ Malaysian Maverick ‘ claimed Malaysia lost RM100 Billions over a 22 year period. But this could be put down to development expenditure and not speculation !

All we need do is to do things normally and we will all be there at our destination – all of us under the banner of the BN as led by the UMNO. No more. No less.

    For Middle Ages,

I have met people like you in my lifetime. Hence, I take this opportunity to present the facts for all to see and judge. I am your friend and bear no hatred, or any negative emotion towards you. All you have to do is to just ponder a minute or two to think or weigh whatever I have stated is true or not. I also give you the appropriate references to do so. Eventually, you will feel happy because at last you understand what is fact and what is fiction.

    For Wajaperak.

I am only interested in the Malaysian kind of democracy without outside interference. You very kindly mentioned other prominent personalities too. I agree with you that Malaysia was like a colony of Singapore not too many years ago, with cadres crawling all over us including the NST. But nothing much happened, apart from seeing large amounts of money moving out of the country.

On Jambatan Bengkok – Wajaperak, please tell me what you see standing at the tip of Johor Baru and looking across the Causeway towards the Singapore Customs & Immigration Complex ?

    For HBT456 only.

Please vote BN for yourself and your family’s sakes. My father founded the first Chinese secondary school in Kuala Lumpur – the Confucian Secondary School, Jalan Davidson, Kuala Lumpur in 1906 – when he was 32 years of age – 106 years ago ! Facts are facts.

Vote BN. All Malaysians. No need to be shy or have a feeling of guilt just because others tell you the Tales from Vienna Woods. Be a Man or Woman and vote in your own interest. No more. No less.

  6. Assalamualaikum WBT Yg Bhg Tun,

Wishing a very Happy and Prosperous life to all Malaysians especially Indian friends who are celebrating Depavalee today 13 November, 2012. Malaysia is a very unique country composed of multinational, religious and cultures continuously live in peace and harmony. Malaysia is being administers by a very excellent and most reliable government i.e. Barisan Nasional for more than 55 years ago.

The existence of Putrajaya with the idea created by the former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad permitted by the only God Allah SWT, successfully built up by the present government Barisan Nasional. Putrajaya has become the most effective administrative center for Federal Government Barisan Nasional. Not many countries in the world having their own government administrative center as Malaysia. We as truly Malaysian should feel very proud with the existence of Putrajaya. Putrajaya has brought up a very good image of the country Malaysia in the part of the world. Putrajaya too indicated the political stability and a very successful government namely Barisan Nasional.

The intention of Pakatan Rakyat (composed of DAP, PKR & Pas) to win in the 13 General Election and step into Putrajaya should not be supported at all. The credibility of Pakatan Rakyat as compared to Barisan Nasional is very far behind par. So many promises by Pakatan Rakyat headed by PKR in Selangor have not being fulfill. Malays and Indians communities in Penang have not being fairly treated by DAP as compared to the Chinese communities. Kedah has not being very well developed by Pas as compared to the former state government Barisan Nasional. Pas has completely failed to develop Kelantan for the last 22 years. These are real facts that cannot be denied.

UMNO and Barisan Nasional with the strong support by the truly Malaysian to achieve a greater success in the 13 General Election over Pakatan Rakyat. Our present life (leaving in peace and harmony) within nations must be withstand. The present excellent developing momentum (various transformation programs) of the country for the benefits of the communities by Barisan Nasional should not be distorted by Pakatan Rakyat.

Pray hard to Allah SWT to sustain our beautiful and lovely Malaysia remains in the hands of Barisan Nasional.

    Thank you and Wassalam.

  7. Tun

    For HBT456

You are obviously a woman who are jealous of men who are capable and competent.

You made snide remarks when I mentioned in passing in my comments that I was offered the best State exco-seat for a Chinaman in Kuala Kubu, Selangor by Tun Tan Siew Sin in 1969 and later in 1973, on 2 January 1973, Tun Tan offered his own Batu Berendam, Melaka seat to me with the assurance of the post of Deputy Minister for Finance.

I declined both as advised by the most senior Malaysian Chinese counter-insurgency official to the Government and also by my life long friends who befriended me in London.

You attack me personally this time telling me that I am incompetent to deal with the Malaysian Chinese just because I exhorted them not to run around the streets of Kuala Lumpur risking life and limb on behalf of other people’s causes which have nothing to do with the Malaysian Chinese. This is a yawning fact.

Their cause is to dethrone the incumbent Government and replace the Prime Minister with another Bumiputra. This last fact has already been confirmed by the Malaysian Chinese amongst the Opposition deferring the senior Government posts to their colleagues in advance. This is the awesome fact.

But the call is by only 6 distinguised gentlemen of the Opposition in which 5 of them are above the age of 62 and one not much younger than 60.

As a senior member of the Malaysian Chinese community it is my duty to point out the facts to my fellow countrymen be they Bumiputras or non-Bumiputras. Do not be duped by promises and anti-Government slogans.

For your further edification of Malaysian history, my father founded the first Chinese secondary school, the Confucian Secondary School, in Kuala Lumpur in 1906. What say you HBT456?

As I said many times before, I strongly believe that the BN as led by the UMNO is the right way to go since October 1951. The UMNO is Malaysia’s very own iconic institution. A few chaps running around the streets of Kuala Lumpur cannot remove the UMNO with its distinguished leaders and history even if they come from Mars.

Vote BN. All Malaysians, all Bumiputras and non-Bumiputras including HBT456 if you want peace, harmony and prospertiy.

    Today we make tomorrow’s history.

  9. Assalamualaikum WBT Yg Bhg Tun,

  10. YABhg Tun,

I don’t understand at all the fuss about Nurul Izzah Anwar’s statement. She is the Vice President of PKR, a multiracial party. You would expect statements like that from a vice president of a multiracial party.
But, coming from a muslim…,ignorance and stupidity comes to mind.

  11. Tun

Your comment on Putrajaya is becoming more and more interesting.

It is my observation of the do or die attitude of the Opposition that is very interesting – the spinning, the twisting, the misinformation, the brain washing, the hate-mongering etc which have been increased a couple of notches of late.

Out of nowhere and at a time just before our General Elections, Glenn Knight published a book ‘Glenn Knight. The Prosecutor’ coming from a place, Singapore which is famous for brainwashing. Succinctly, he claimed to have prosecuted Tan Koon Swan 27 years ago wrongly ( and apologised now in his capacity as a private individual ). But there is not a squeak from the Singapore Government or its Attorney-General. And further, he met Tan Koon Swan 2 years ago before this date. A 2-year gap of silence until our General Elections year ! With my simple mind, could all these be synchronised and manipulated by a phantom hand down in Singapore !

And adding this book to the other inspired book by an author from the Institute of South East Asian Studies, we have two tomes which definitely has no perfunctory purpose. There is a hidden hand with a definite agenda and purpose in firing off these world’s best paper arrows at Malaysia at the right time, 2010 – a year after Singapore’s horrendous loss of US$108 Billions of her citizens Trust money in October 2008 on Wall Street and then 2012, this Glenn Knight’s expose in Malaysia’s election year.

‘ Malaysian Maverick’ was written hastily and published in 2010 to brainwash and deflect attention from the inefficiency and the failure of the world class meritocratic pyramid when Singapore lost US$108 Billions ( RM 250 Billions – more than twice what Malaysia lost as alleged over 22 years ) of her citizens Trust money in October 2008 on Wall Street.

A prominent Singaporean was purportedly on the international panel of advisors of a financial institution at the material time in which Singapore lost heavily. Conflict of interest at the very highest level ?

Because the tome was hastily put together, it had to be revised with a chapter of 27 pages in 2010 giving rise to doubts about its authencity and professionalism !
Vide. Channelnewsasia Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs. 2009-2012. Financial Times London. Gillian Tett. ‘Singapore’s Harvard Investment Model’. The Star. Seah Chiang Nee. Saturdays Columns.

If we wipe away the ‘bluffology’ or ‘bull-shit’ as commonly used by our Malaysian riff-raff which the Opposition are now using this Tan Koon Swan caper of 27 years ago to denigrate the BN leaders of the day, please remember how come Tan Koon Swan who was almighty with the topmost political power ever controlled by a Malaysian Chinese and all the money at his command, ended up in jail on both sides of the Causeway ? How come ?

Obviously, Tan Koon Swan was not qualified to lead and be the leader of the MCA or he would not have created such a mess and ended up in jail on both sides of the Causeway. And it was alleged he did not plead ‘not guilty’ on both sides of the Causeway. No more. No less.

Only Tan Koon Swan knows the innermost truth himself. And he is not telling !!!

For those who are new to such spinning, twisting, brainwashing etc by the Opposition and Singapore, you now have a balanced view from me who has been an observer and student of political socio-economic events and their personalities on both sides of the Causeway since October 1951.

I only present the facts with no jealousy, hatred or greed in my heart ! And I am exceedingly happy as a loyal citizen of my beloved Malaysia. No more. No less.

When our beloved Malaysia is seen to be weak and our sovereignty, national interest, self-esteem are not safe-guarded. And our grandmothers being sold down river or when interested and boastful parties made horrendous mistakes themselves, our beloved Malaysia will be used as a punching bag to gain mileage, political or otherwise because they think we have a soft under-belly !

Such derring-dos fortunately did not happen during your famous 22 year Administration, Tun !

Vote BN. All Malaysians, especially the Malaysian Chinese. Vote for the BN Government which has served all of us well as long as we can remember together with our parents.

  13. Tun

This is for the younger folks.

Putrajaya is not simply your masterpiece and masterwork. It is the soul and heart of our beloved Nation. It is not the work of a megalomaniac but the soft touch with compassionate by your goodself which fits within the 3 Golden Attributes for a Prime Minister eg

    1. Commonsense

    2. The Ability to Think out of the Box

    3. Compassion.

Even if the Putrajaya was not built in accordance to a Prime Minister’s ability during his tenure, it would have been built in the future by another.

An definitely, Putrajaya is better than all those titanic mistakes made by Lee Kuan Yew – his 2 child family policy which completely wiped out the Singaporean tribe and many others. Vide. Lee Kuan Yew. New York Times 2010. My perfunctory Comments in this Blog. All Singaporean Blogs 2009-2012

Coming to the nub of the importance of how the younger folk view Putrajaya, and my comment is for the younger folk alone.

From the mists of history in the ancient past, we cannot escape the proud monuments erected by proud people of any civilization which was of any significance in human history eg.

Quitab Minar, the highest tower during Mughal times, in Delhi, the Summer Gardens, Beijing, the Eiffel Tower, Paris, St. Petersberg, Russia. the Sydney Opera House, Sydney, the leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy, Big Ben and the Tower Bridge, London, the Statue of Liberty, New York etc. All these structures need not be built at all and if so, no statement of any kind need to be made. How do these places look without the aforementioned structures ? We have a very dull world.

However, each significant structure or group of buildings strike our minds straightaway as the symbol of a particular place or civilization. This is normal human activity in the creation of innovation and vision for our descendants to come in the future, and also a sign of civil activity of a civil society. This is not fine rhetoric but fine action of which we as human beings should all be proud of that there is such a thing as Putrajaya in our beloved Malaysia.

And all important structures in the whole wide world were built with the younger folks like our Malaysian young folk in mind. This is normal civilised and human thought. No more. No less.

And this is also why the older folks begat the younger folks too. This is human civilization without the warts and the vulgarities- the word is CIVIL.

For the younger folk who were educated at home and abroad sometimes on scholarships, this is a time of enlightenment and transitional for all of us Malaysians in our beloved Nation – from Agrarian to Industry.

But please do not forget, the most developed and the most industrialised countries of the world like the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, the Scandinavian countries etc. protect their farmlands not only for agricultural production but also the countryside was the places where their development in the past began. This their peoples have not forgotten.

It is absurd to have a country being 100% urbanised with no countryside. Hence, we have town and country planning. Having said this, all these countries do protect the countryside and its activities to the utmost for a balance way of life as well as to keep the life of their farmers to a standard on par with the urbanites. This must be so.

This is where Malaysia is in transition to the next level of our beloved Nation’s progress. And throughout the BN as capably led by UMNO and the component parties have delivered to their credit and promises.

And rest assured younger folks, the BN as capably led by UMNO will do better, cleaner and more efficiently in your interests and all our interests too.

The younger folks might see the past and present events in our beloved Nation with a different eye. But we cannot escape from our past, our past political socio-economic history which you all must understand.

Yes ! It is alright to have up-to-the minute lifestyle but our past cannot escape us. What we do now will be history tomorrow. It is the younger folks who holds the candle to light the great cavern of riches or this could burn up the past and all what we have accomplished through our fathers, grandfathers and forebears. This much we must expect, young folks !

I was taught to go back to the basics whenever I had any problem.

Like any sound human being, you young folks will do well to consider the achievements and the deeds of the BN as capably led by the UMNO. As you are all aware, scandals in one country might not be scandals in another. And as long as there is Man, there is Woman. And if you have both, there will be scandals.

If we all look at the histories of great countries, folks, our beloved Nation Malaysia today is just like any other great country in the past and the present. Do not think that Malaysia is the one and one only to have scandals and so on. All countries have these warts of public life. There is no exception.

If you examine the life of the awesome Lee Kuan Yew whom some of you admire. The truth is far from the fiction. This is what we call brainwashing. Vide. My factual Comments in this Blog.

To quote, the awesome Lee Kuan Yew, ‘ We live modestly.’ But then in his first book of himself, he mentioned that the butler at the Presidential Istana picked up the ball for his children while they were lolling on the Presidential lawn, presumably after having tea served in fine English bone china. See the fact. See the fiction.

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the younger folks who have doubt about this and about that. Take it from me. You will not have made any mistake if you vote for the BN – even for the very last time. You will be proud and strong that we have safeguarded our unique and wonderful country Malaysia against all odds !

My only qualification to the above humble comments is that I have always been interested in the public affairs and personalities of my beloved country Malaysia since October 1951 when I was young like you younger folks. Please remember we only pass through this unique and wonderful land only once in our lifetime. I am sure you know what to do. And thanks.

  14. Tun

Putrajaya is your masterpiece and masterwork. But Putrajaya bears a different meaning to some –

    – Those who hanker for the ultimate power to rule over us in beloved Malaysia even though some of them are very rich beyond their own dreams.

These disinguished gentlemen of the Opposition even though they sleep on the same bed and have different dreams but their ultimate dream is to achieve power at all costs in Putrajaya, like making the well-endowed and well-fed Malaysian Chinese to run around the streets of Kuala Lumpur in the mid-day sun in support of causes which have nothing to do with them ( the Malaysian Chinese amongst them have already given up the most senior Government posts in deference to their colleagues in advance ) even though they are the best treated in the whole wide world – better than in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the rest of the World.

The international Chinese community laugh at them for their stupidity because no Chinese run around any street for any other person’s causes except those in Hong Kong. And these people only dared to do it after their British master departed and Hong Kong is now back in their Motherland ! Stupid ! Brainwashing ! Brainwashing ! Brainwashing !

The bulwark of our political system is the BN which is competently led by UMNO and supported by political parties which have an interest in representing their communities in the growth and development of our beloved Nation.

The history of Malaysia is entwined in the achievements of the Alliance and the BN with the leadership of UMNO and its stablemates. It is so important that we the citizens understand what has been achieved so far and not be side-lined by the scandals or pin-pricks which could happen anywhere and in any place. These scandals or corruption will be overcome given the will and inclination of all well-meaning members and citizens.

Fine speeches are one thing. But fine actions are another.

Please compare the famous 22 year Administration of Tun Dr Mahathir and Malaysia’s 5 Prime Ministers with the over 50 year one-man rule of the awesome Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore with all the warts and the brainwashing.

Therefore, I exhort all Malays, the Bumiputras together with all the Malaysian Chinese, the Malaysian Indians and the rest to arise and rally around the proud and strong banner of the BN as capably and competently led by the UMNO towards a better and improved system of governance in the years to come for ourselves, our families, our children and our childres’s children. This only the UMNO can do.

There are no two ways about this.

Success with the BN as led by the UMNO and its component parties or we disappear down the longkang like the aborted 2-child policy of Singapore. 1970-1985 – shooting ourselves in the foot and self-destruct – like Singapore. In situations like this there is no turning back, no turning back!

Vote BN. All Malays, Bumiputras, Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indians and all our other compatriots for the past, present and future. No need to be shy !

  16. Salam Jumaat Tun,

As truly Malaysian we should be very much proud with the existence of Putrajaya as the head of Federal Government Administrative center, and express our great thankful to the all Mighty God Allah SWT.

With the permission and gifted from Allah SWT Tun Dr. Mahathir former Prime Minister of Malaysia created an idea of developing an exclusive administrative center for Federal Government. Now it is proven to the nation that Putrajaya have been successfully utilized as it was designed, and achieved the ultimate objectives.

Putrajaya was successfully developed under the current government Barisan Nasional. The opposition party mainly Pakatan Rakyat (PKR, DAP & Pas) very ambitious to step into Putarajaya if they ever win the oncoming 13 General Election. Barisan Nasional (with all the components parties) must strongly withhold Putarajaya and achieve an excellent winning in the 13 General Election. So much effort, time and money has been spent in the development of Putrajaya by Barisan Nasional, and it should be continuously manage by Barisan Nasional.

Barisan Nasional should be continuously support to administrate Malaysia. Barisan Nasional has proven to be the most reliable government as compared to Pakatan Rakyat for the past 55 years after independent. Putrajaya is the pride of Barisan Nasional and Malaysian as a whole.

Tun Dr. Mahathir’s great and excellent ideas is steel needed and relevant for the continuous support to the present government Barisan Nasional to win the 13 General Election and continuous development of the country.

    Thank you and Wassalam.

  17. Assallammualaikumwarahmatulahiwabarokatuh..
Semoga mendapat izin dan perkenan Tun..

    Mr Mubarakchan
[[Of course, the UMNO has the best leadership that could be gathered together in a small country]]

    Strange indeed!!..
You conveniently forgotten or not mentioned ?Tun?…?Tun?..Abdullah Ahmad Badawi..
Look at the people in the street like me..
We are so angry and incensed of what Abdullah Ahmad Badawi did to Tun ( There can be only one Tun for me..The one who preside this blog )..The word is and not were..
Then we felt ( we can have feeling’s right?..) Abdullah conned us in believeing we had the Singaporean by their balls by ‘forcing’ them to ‘signed’ the agreement of ‘Jambatan Bengkok’..Lo..and behold..
I am here to announced and declared that the ‘agreement’ is null and valid..Meaning..We renegade on our promise?..
    More?..What more?..
Stupid and uneducated people like me does not understand your kind of philosophy Mr Mubarak Chan..
I feel’s that you and all good citizen in Tun blog must do the ‘Zone Call’ at the Anti Hadither..and yet you do not..
I feel’s that you should tell us of your experinces about Islamic evolution in Malaysia..
    and yet..you do not..
Remember the Sword of Damocles cut and swings both ways..
    For them..
    and

    FOR US TOO…

    Tun..
    Terima kasih..

  18. Salam Tun,

    1. I guess what Mubarak Chan is trying so hard to say in so many words taking up such huge real estate in your esteemed blog is that BN is good, UMNO is good and all other components do very well and that is why Malaysia is so very advanced and progressive.

    2. If it is true that BN is so very good, there would not be a vacuum of so many poor and sidelined individuals and organizations, many of whom now support the opposition simply because they are fed-up with unlimited the racial bias introduced by the BN formula.

    3. Mubarak Chan can take up the entire blog space for all i care, it will not make the situation on the ground better. The reality is, if you know someone or is connected to some political goon in Malaysia, you can make a lot of money. Otherwise, you queue up for BR1M, and collect your “saguhati”, while the big monies goes to the cronies, such as Mubarak Chan and Amin Tan.

    4. Malaysians have already awoken up to the BN/UMNO magic, and now understand this magic show is only for those in the front seat. Us back seat viewers are asked to clap ( there are policecemen watching you if you don’t clap, so be careful ) and will perhaps receive RM 50/- for clapping.

    5. So we want to give another party the chance to make changes. The changes might not be fast, might not be according to what we want, but at the very least, there is an effort. Current government of the day, BN, has this policy…why change ? is change better ? And therefore is asking for permannent stanglehold on Malaysian politics and rule, wanting to remain rulers forever.

    6. I say we say no to this blackmail. I say we demand our freedom, of choice, of religion and of so many things denied by the BN government. I say we advance first, let BN follow later if they acquire advanced thinking. But we should not wait for BN to learn, because some people never learn, not in school, and not in real life.

    7. And therefore the more intelligent and the more compasionate among us should be leading the society, and in only in this way we are assured of advance. If we stand behind the cows and the cows lead us, we will always smell the dung.

    8. Last point Tun, is in taking life, for criminal offense. We should not play God and take life simply for criminal offense, simply because we have hatred in our hearts. Criminals should be separated from normal society, yes, but why kill them ? If we are to kill for crimes, then there are many who should be killed. Is this right ? Does it really solve the problem ?

And then one day medical science finds a drug to help rehabilitate many criminals, how do we bring those dead people back? Tak ke perbuatan membunuh itu bodoh namanya ?

    Thank You Tun

  19. Salam YAB & diKasihi Tun,

    Terima kasih Tun.

*** Semoga Allah SWT melindungi Tun sekeluarga. ***

  20. Tun

    For HBT 456.

You seem to be a loose cannon to me. I speak Mandarin better than you who writes such bad English. You are just wasting everybody’s time if not for the practice of our Way of Malaysian Democracy to permit us to debate.

I forgive you for your arrogance and personal attacks on people who have done you know harm. I think you are just a perfect example of Chou En Lai’s yellow banana of 1956. You talk so much.

As a result, you chose the wrong person to attack. Try better next time.

Have you ever worked in a bankrupt textile factory (for 9 years) which employed 1,200 workers spending RM 17 per minute on 3 shifts and made milions and millions of ringgits without any financial support from the banks ? The staff were all Bumiputras and Mandarin speaking Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indians – not a single English speaking Malaysian Chinese.

Please give me a chance not to defend myself with my history.

Vote BN. All Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese. If HBT456 did not say she supports the BN in the past, I would have said much much more !

  21. Tun

Especially for the Malays and all Malaysians, how many of us realise that the UMNO is one of the most successful political body in the whole wide world on par with the Congress Party of India, the Republican and Democratic Parties of the United States, the Conservative and Labour Parties of the United Kingdom, etc.

Stand proud. Stand tall. Stand strong. All Bumiputras and non-Bumiputras of our beloved land !

From its humble beginnings in the 1940s, the UMNO rode from success to success led by wise, competent and dedicated leaders in a diverse land because its members understood like its leaders what the wherewithal was all about.

At times of racial strife in uncertain times, its leaders have braved the fray and defused difficult situations. Many of them were unsung heroes of old at a time when the media was not advanced as at present. When communities collide, their leaders stood up and prevented further confrontation and friction at the fault lines which could have broken down to blood and tears. Because of their efforts with the support of the Sultanates, these did not happen.

As the UMNO consolidated in the late 1940s and the 1950s, the statesmanship of its leaders was exemplary leading to the strong foundations of our beloved country today. Their leaders have always had the Bumiputras at heart and indirectly, the non-Bumiputras too because all these groups of people are linked directly or indirectly always.

However, the non-Bumiputra political parties never had the benefit of qualified leaders to lead and generally ended up being plain and ordinary, going after boring and urbane things of no consequence. By now, both the parties and the communities they represented lost out and became a millstone around the neck of the BN as led competently by the UMNO.

And yet, the UMNO stand tall and proud above the fray like the Jolly Green Giant.

This is what it should be – the paramount political party of the Nation representing and safeguarding all that is for the common good – our Royalty, our citizens, our religious beliefs, our heritage, our legacy, our life-style and last and not least of all, our beloved Malaysia.

Of course, there are scandals. Which country has no scandals ? As long as there is man and there is woman, there will be scandals. We do not need to look very far for other countries which have scandals. It is only a matter of degree and daring eg. the on-going civil servants’ trials in Singapore.

Of course, the UMNO has the best leadership that could be gathered together in a small country. Despite this fact, the statesmanship as practised by the chief honchos of the UMNO has been exemplary as compared with the awesome Lee Kuan Yew who did a wartime starred First Class in Law at the University of Cambridge and possibly a Third Class in the Bar Finals, London. He has ruled Singapore for over 50 years up to today, from 1959 to 2012, and has admitted making some mistakes. Vide New York Times 2010. And these mistakes were made by a great man which could only be of titanic proportions. Vide. my perfunctory Comments in this Blog.

And yet, as opposed to the UMNO and its competent leadership, we have a group of people who no doubt are well qualified to be top leaders but could not match the standards and longevity of Lee Kuan Yew’s long rule, pushing, jostling and shouting, ‘ Change the Government !’ ‘ Change the Government !’ ‘ Change the Government !’ And these distinguished gentlemen who used to be age 21, did then till now, I do not know !

They even got the Malaysian Chinese to run around in circles in the streets of Kuala Lumpur shouting the same. These Malaysian Chinese are not only well-endowed but also well-fed and the best treated in the whole wide world, better than in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the rest of the World. These people must have been brain-washed to think that they are the dis-advantaged Arabs of the Middle East. But to the international Chinese community, the Malaysian Chinese must be seen to be the laughing stock – a sort of tiger who thinks he is a cat ! Stupid ! Why ? For them to get involve in causes of our compatriots which have nothing to do with the Malaysian Chinese. Even those in the Opposition have deferred the senior positions of the Government to their colleagues !

Malaysian Chinese please do not waste your precious time running around the streets of Kuala Lumpur for other people’s ambitions.

One of the signal decisions of the UMNO arising from the statesmanship and competency at the right time and age, was the promulgation of the NEP coupled with the formation of the BN to be an umbrella orgainisation for all political parties which wished to be in the mainstream of the Nation’s growth and development for all.

    This was successful.

This was far-sighted vision and thinking of our late Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak and many others from the UMNO who contributed unselfishly and wholeheartedly to the best efforts of the Nation.

Apart from the numerous successful projects especially during the famous 22 year Administration of Tun, the greatest achievement of all by the UMNO was the promotion and growth of the middle income group of Bumiputras and the concomitant expansion of the middle income group of non-Bumiputras. Vide. Channelnewsasia. The Singaporean Malays have finally arrived. November 2012.

The UMNO with its legitimacy to govern together with others under the BN and the traditional conventions which have been practised and observed by all through the ages if not centuries, does represent the public face of not only the Malays, the Bumiputras and all the non-Bumiputras in this beloved land. The non-Bumiputra political parties could not match the successes of the UMNO because their leadership were found wanting and not qualified as now proven.

Insidious remarks have been made deliberately by some that the Bumiputras are divided into factions. This is brainwashing of the worst kind without any foundation to bolster the credibility of non-proven candidates for ultimate power at Putrajaya.

I am confident all Malays, the Bumiputras, and the non-Bumiputras realise that we all have a vested interest in the success of the UMNO leading all of us under the BN banner.

We already have many successful examples of foreign political parties which have existed more than 100 years on this globe. The sensible inhabitants of these foreign countries know what is good for themselves.

Maybe they understand the fairy tales in Hans Christian Anderson – the King without any clothes and the Grimm Brothers – the Pied Piper of Hamelin.

What is happening today in our beloved country is a normal transition under the BN as led by the traditional competent leadership of UMNO in the vested interests of all Malaysians. No more. No less.

Vote BN. All Bumiputras and non-Bumiputras of this peaceful and harmonious beloved Nation. We do not need chaps who ape the awesome and foreign Lee Kuan Yew with a war-time starred double First Law degree from the University of Cambridge to lead us and admitted to mistakes at the end of the day which is too late. However, we have better qualified citizens right here in this beloved land !

Let us all behave normally and we will be there at our destination !

  22. YAB,

    150. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/11/8/nation/12289711&sec=nation

    151. I sincerely hope that Tan and Vivian Lee have learned the lesson of being famous via Tan’s victimless offence turned viral in internet and free media coverage to get famous can invite hurt not only to themselves, but the family, relatives, friends, the scholarship sponsor, students in NUS, Singaporeans and Government of Singapore.

    152. But sending Malaysian Chinese to 12 years jail for causing hurt to Indonesian maid after appeals is too much that shows our judiciary is prejudice against race and not independent on political interference which common society, the English speaking ones cannot accept.

    Good day, YAB.

  23. Good morning YAB,

    143. Write Mandarin 1st before uncle mubarakchan starts lecturing Chinese on Confucius philosophy in general.

    144. If he can’t, then he can never win Malaysian Chinese votes.

    145. Similarly, if he can’t speak Malay 1st, he can never win Malaysian Malay votes.

    146. As for minority population in Malaysia, if they can’t speak Malay and English, they can never survive in Malaysia politically and economically.

    147. As for religions as per Tuhan, leave it to Agong, states’ Sultan and senators to deal with these issues.

    148. Malayan Malaysia is another step of regression.

    149. Malayan Malaysia means re-colonization after 55 years of Merdeka?

    Good day, YAB.

  24. Tun

Especially for the Malaysian Chinese, some of whom have taken to the streets of Kuala Lumpur shouting for democracy, change, freedom, equal rights, etc. A scenario not seen around the world except in Hong Kong and this happened only after the colonial master, the British departed.

    Strange !

How can a group of Malaysian Chinese not aware of the wherewithal of their existence in this land ? Maybe it is the easy living in this languid tropical climate and the largesse left to them by their doting parents and forebears brought in this unusual behaviour not seen anywhere in the wide world of the international Chinese.

    Strange !

To illustrate how far the Malaysian Chinese have deviated from the thoughts and actions of the forebears, we only have to look at the duo in the Tube who performed like wild animals on heat. But then, amongst the Malaysian Chinese themselves there are so very many clans which normally behave in a more civilised and conservative fashion. My clansmen would definitely eschew such behaviour. Words like filial piety and self-esteem are missing from the vocabulary of some Malaysian Chinese.

China had the foresight to promote many institutes of Confucius in an attempt to strengthen the spiritual and cultural spine of the Chinese who were let loose to go for money and materialism since 1979 ! This ploy was to form some sort of ballast to the conduct and the behaviour of Chinese.

But in countries like Malaysia, there are higher and higher rates of divorce amongst the young couples who probably practised Western life-styles since the 1970s or as far back as they could remember. There are so many single parents around that unattended children are a dime a dozen. By chance, I discovered this fact over 20 years ago in a boarding school where many such children were educated. Children without spiritual or cultural ballast.

Maybe this is one reason why some Malaysian Chinese run around the streets of Kuala Lumpur without realising their good fortune in Malaysia and in support of political causes which are not the concern of the Malaysian Chinese – the struggle by compatriots for political power to control this beloved country, the political shenanigans to brainwash or to create a photogenic scene for the financiers to support more such events.

Because of the uncertainties of the behaviour of some Malaysian Chinese who are definitely not aware whether they are fish or fowl and the weaknesses of their own political parties, there is only one path, and the only right path for the Malaysian Chinese to move along and support – this is the BN as competently led by UMNO who has the legitimacy to rule by conventional practice and tradition according to Malaysia’s historical lineage of the Royal Sultans, the religious beliefs, the legacy of the indigenious Bumiputras and the non-Bumiputras, the life-styles of the past and the present etc in conformation of a Malayan Malaysian. This will strengthen the hopes and ambitions of the Malaysian Chinese together with all the other Malaysians as well.

Malaysian Chinese stick to what we know that is the BN as led competently by UMNO and say bye bye to the other expiry-by-date political parties which were hastily formed to exploit a particular situation in the political milieu during a moment of weakness. Politics is not like changing a set of clothes. It is a very serious matter of life, of survival, of ambitions and hopes, of longevity and of brevity, of equality and of despair, etc. You name it you have got it.

Therefore it pays for the Malaysian Chinese to give all their votes to the BN in keeping with peace, stability, harmony and prosperity for all.

Forget the foreign icons who are now found to have let their own people down and have feet of clay. Vide My Comments in this Blog. We hold tight and go for broke with the BN as led competently by UMNO. No more. No less.

Vote BN. All Malaysians and all the Malaysian Chinese. If I do not help you and you do not help me who are going to help us all Malaysians. ( Not forgetting some members of the Opposition are very very rich).

  25. Tun

As soon as my eyes glanced through the headlines of the NST this morning, lo and behold, ‘ Norway offers to sell arms to Malaysia at a discount to enhance trade ‘ ! Oh my ! Is it not this country Norway which is the very epitome of international righteousness by awarding Nobel Prizes to warmongers or practitioners of the apartheid, individually or en masse and not to peace-loving statesmen ? Is this the best joke or the cruelest joke of 2012 ! I do not want to be frivolous for fear of being branded with a label.

However, your latest on Putrajaya brings to mind that we, Malaysians, the friendly and hospitable lot, do not quite see how the non-Malaysians see us.

We folks even permitted them to erect an ice cube in the middle of all the fine Islamic and Malay architecture in Putrajaya without so much as a thank you very much ! The only saving grace is to show our descendants this was how foreigners used to view and treat us – their way was better than our Malaysian Way.

We are so pleased that these people smile and say hello to us, the innocent babes in this wild, wild predators world ! We welcome everyone with open arms including myself.

Some of us innocents are so taken up by the normal working habits of normal Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Pulau Pinang. His counterpart down south in Singapore, the awesome Lee Kuan Yew, with the wartime starred First Class law degree from the University of Cambridge at the end of a long day has admitted some mistakes. When a great man admitted some mistakes, these are not like the small ones which a person, like me normally makes, but mistakes of titanic proportions. For example, a single decision of a 2-child family policy can cause the Singaporean tribe to literally but not figuratively disappear in one single generation down the longkang ! Howzat for the book of records !

Modestly, the awesome Lee Kuan Yew added, quote ‘ We live modestly’ and ‘ My actions are all honourable ‘ and ‘ My aim was to establish a clean government ‘ unquote. I would have thought the last was a normal aim or intention like normal Lim Guan Eng and his normal State Government.

Delving further into the deeper recesses of my simple brain, and this took a long long time, I suddenly realise how cheap it is to take-over a country especially one like Malaysia (and also loaded with goodies) where the folks are hospitable and friendly and do not ask too many questions and are not aware of state-crafts like ‘sovereignty, national interest and self-esteem’. Further, sometimes our chiefs sell our grandmothers down river without reason too but for the price of a song !

If you, Tun, extrapolates recent events and personalitites and together with the latest return of James Bond the original 007, how easy it is to takeover our beloved Malaysia by a rogue mulit-billionaire with a couple of US billions through the use of proxies ! More than 30 years ago, an UMNO veteran told me that RM 20 Millions would have caused a lot of trouble to the Government of the day ! And we have already 1,000,000 millionaires in China as of yesterday. Vide BBC Overseas News.

Why would a rogue Billionaire want to control Malaysia through proxies ?

Even our very own citizens are unaware of who they really are and the unique land they inhabit which is our beloved Malaysia.

The thinking is somewhat like a handsome stallion thinking that he is a donkey ! Or like the well-endowed and well-fed Malaysian Chinese running around the streets of Kuala Lumpur under the hot mid-day sun seeking democracy and human rights even though they are the best treated in the whole wide world – better than Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the rest of the World and best of all, democracy and human rights have never been practised in China for 5,000 years even up to 2012 ! Stupid ! This is understandable if it happened 5,000 years ago.

First, with the end of the Cold War, the globe became a place for free spirits to roam to the extent man married man, woman married woman but officially, the US promoted ‘globalization, free trade and human rights’. We know the US lost out to India, China, ASEAN and the rest of the World except Europe.

But standing out of this masse of countries, Malaysia appears right between the East and the West. The huge flow of trade and social intercourse between the East and the West with points further East, like Russia and the Pacific coast of USA.

Malaysia has become the Mother of all choke points if we look at the globe facing it. He or she who controls Malaysia controls half of the world ! Singapore tried but egoism overode realism and failed miserably.

The fabled Straits of Malacca to the West and the historic South China sea to the East and the Peninsula dominates Singapore geographically and all the littoral States around her. And further reinforced by Sabah and Sarawak to the East.

Malaysia whether she likes it or not has become a very important and unique strategic country in the whole wide world, not Singapore despite her utmost efforts to do a Lee Kuan Yew. This is a fact.

Second, the bonus or the icing on the cake for the rogue Billionaire is to put it succinctly

    (a) the natural resources eg. petroleum oil and gas, etc. What are US$ 2 Billions for a rogue Billionaire to gamble on power hungry proxies ?
Like what some happy-go-lucky wisecracks talked about the bountiful low hanging fruits to harvest after 2003. Now, I know after all the fruits have gone. Sayonara, the RM 1 Trillion !

    (b) the assets built up by the BN under the leadership of UMNO.

The last begs the obvious observation. The BN under the competent leadership of UMNO has built up the whole country with all the material assets and human resources over more than 50 years. And now we find, 3 disparate groups of people eg. one firmly foreign inspired, a second of indeterminate origins and a third with the highest spiritual inclinations and qualifications in the land, gather together to run around the streets of Kuala Lumpur a couple of times demanding for democracy or whatever and from here, off they run to Putrajaya to capture power !!!

And all that is required for them to shout is, ‘ Change ! Change ! Change ! ‘

Is this fair to the BN led capably by UMNO since 1946 which did all the nation building, the body wracking jobs, the dirty work, etc and many without recognition to be pushed aside by 6 very distinguished gentlemen of the Opposition of which 5 are above the age of 62 and the other not much more younger than 60 !

At first they shouted ‘ Change like Arab Spring ‘! They forgot we had the Malay Spring in 1946.

Then, they got the well-endowed Malaysian Chinese to shout for democracy, human rights and fair treatment and run around the streets of Kuala Lumpur like dungus. They forgot the Malaysian Chinese are the best treated in the whole wide world of money !!

And the most funny of all is that they do not realize that we and our beloved country Malaysia have advance quite a far distance in the course of our political and socio-economic development through the decades. The fact is those phantom types know nuts about the real Malayan Malaysia !

The above-mentioned scenarios clearly show that some rogue multi-billionaires can easily snatch a country like Malaysia from under the very noses of the superpowers by using proxies which in turn could use this beloved country as a Mother of all choke points to blackmail the superpowers to their knees for money. (This is only a Hollywood scenario and not to be taken seriously.)

This is the very reason why I always hectored my fellow citizens to vote BN as competently led by UMNO since the arrival of the political dawn in 1946.

As you have said, Tun, ‘ It is better to vote for the devil you know than the devil you don’t.’

Vote BN. All Malaysians. We all know the BN as led by UMNO is part of us since the beginning of time immemorial – a Malayan Malaysia !

  26. Dear Tun,

Please allow me to quote Wajarperak

//(3) Or one may answer, and this reason is the true one: “The truly learned man only sins through carelessness, and does not remain in a state of impenitence. For real knowledge shows sin to be a deadly poison, and the other world to be superior to this. Convinced of this truth, man ought not to exchange the precious for the vile. But the knowledge of which we speak is not derived from sources accessible to human diligence, and that is why progress in mere worldly knowledge renders the sinner more hardened in his revolt against God.”
True knowledge, on the contrary, inspires in him more fear and more reverence, and raises a barrier of defense between him and sin. He may slip and stumble, it is true, as is inevitable with one encompassed by human infirmity, but these slips and stumbles will not weaken his faith. The true Moslem succumbs occasionally to temptation, but he repents and will not persevere obstinately in the path of error.//

Anybody seeking the truth about islam, please read the above quotation from Saudara Wajaperak. Why some muslims sin, because they are human. but the difference is they repent, bertaubat. This is the whole meaning of Al Fatihah recited over and over again in a muslim daily prayer.

    amin tan

  27. Tun

Finally a little bird told me who are the owners of the ice cube in Putrajaya.

I doubt if these owners dare put up such a building in Oxford for example. Hence, our perception of some foreigners is still found to be wanting. This eyesore is entirely a foreigner’s perception of us, Malaysians.

Stand proud and tall all Malaysians. We do have people who can think out of the box and more qualified than those in some world class countries !

I fully endorse your masterpiece or masterwork which is utterly Malaysian and original. It is at times of administrative weakness that strange people come in to take advantage of us. I have seen this time and time again since 1960. This is nothing new.

It is because of such wanton acts that I fully endorsed your famous 22 year Administration. Such absurd construction would not have happened then.

I have always said that Tun, you have protected our ‘ sovereignty, national interest and self-esteem ‘ These attributes are what go to make a creditable Nation which is our beloved Malaysia !

No more abang-adek nonsense. No more kow-towing to Tom, Dick and Harry ! We are Malayan Malaysians !!!

Vote BN. All Malaysians stand tall and proud. Do not be hoodwinked by ‘Greeks bearing gifts’. Believe in ourselves. We have the capability and the wherewithal !!!

  28. YABhg Tun,

Whichever party the Indians or Chinese voters voted at the next election whether the BN or Pakatan, one thing for sure, they’ll vote en block. Bukan sikit sini, sikit sana. But, the same cannot be said about the Malays. Unless the Malays are ready for a multracial base party, semua campur, they’ll vote for PKR. But, I always believe there are only two choice for the Malays, it’s either UMNO or PAS.
And, as it is now, it is not whether they vote for UMNO or PAS that is important but, the issue here is whether, like the Indians and Chinese, when the time comes, they will vote en block for the party of their choice!!!! Their future is in their hands….not Najib..Anwar, Hadi, Kit Siang or Karpal..

  29. Tun

Your comment on Putrajaya is most timely because it encapsulates all that is best in your famous 22 year Administration of our beloved country.

In our present march towards the next General Elections, I see very clearly that the insinuations of the Opposition with the intention to bring in a Lee Kuan Yew type of governance from a foreign country and use the over 50 year one-man rule of Singapore as a benchmark, is definitely not the way to go for our beloved country.

We are Malayan Malaysians of a unique and successful country, called Malaysia. Let us have some originality like the BN as led by the UMNO with its thick layer of sound leadership. Why be copycats and copy the mistakes of Lee Kuan Yew, a fellow human being like us ?
Vide. New York Times. Lee Kuan Yew. 2010.

Besides, he needed all those 50 years or more to rule alone and yet he made all those mistakes.( There are 24 hours in a day to work out things ). Our Opposition has 6 distinguished gentlemen of which only 1 is below age of 62 and he is in his fifties. And his party has eschewed the seat of Premiership in deference to his senior colleagues.

How to deliver the Lee Kuan Yew type of foreign governance in our beloved Malaysia ? How?

The answer to the success of your famous 22 year Administration is all in the book ‘ Malaysian Maverick’ in which Malaysia was purportedly to have lost RM 100 Billions through scandals etc. Obviously, this figure has been bumped up to create sensation and make fools of our beloved country, Malaysia. And also, indicatively, the book had to be revised with an additional chapter of 27 pages a year later to bring it up to date. This action stinks because the real figure could be much less than RM 100 Billions !!!

However, if we put the RM 100 Billions the most maximum figure that could be cooked up by the author, to development expenditure, how do we compare with the official loss of US$ 108 Billions ( RM250 Billions ) of Singapore’s Trust money in October 2008 on Wall Street in a jiffy and not 22 years ? The 6 distinguished gentlemen of the Opposition have to find a more credible platform, definitely not on the back of Lee Kuan Yew to ride to power in Putrajaya !

It is Singapore’s only known natural resource, ‘ Bluffology ‘.

All Malaysians stand tall and proud we have come a very long way ! We have worked hard and made sacrifices for our beloved country. Little pricks should not upset our thickened skins through years of toil and sweat for our children and our children’s children.

Hey ! This is not end of the Singapore Story. Apart from their experiment with demography by the 2 child family policy of the 1970s and the 1980s probably in breach of Clause 16 of the United Nations Universal Charter of Human Rights, we now find the injection of talent at the top of the famous meritocratic pyramid with very rich Chinamen and Indiamen. This is the nub of the socio-economic friction at zero ground level today in that place ! As it is said, ‘ Two Wongs don’t make a right. ‘ Vide. Curtin. 1941. And this is the most interesting and world’s best experiment of all. Do or die as they say !

Many more chapters of the Singapore Story of human fables and foibles and of human weaknesses and frailties could be added to make an interesting story.

Vote BN. All Malaysians. Please do not feel that the BN did not deliver but they really did under the leadership of UMNO. You can now really see and not look after the cobwebs of brainwashing have been swept aside.

This has been like a fairy tale from Hans Christian Anderson or the German Grimm Brothers of medieval Europe.

It is also obvious what you hear from the 6 distinguished gentlemen of the Opposition is very different from what you see – the real facts of the success of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 22 years Administration as compared with Lee Kuan Yew’s self-admitted mistakes of titanic proportions during his one-man for more than 50 year rule as perfunctorily enumerated by me in my past comments.

To top it, our beloved country, Malaysia, had 6 distinguished Prime Ministers as compare to only one in Singapore during the same period.

When foreigners laugh at us, they are only laughing at themselves because they do not know what they are laughing at.

All Malaysians. Stand tall and very proud. By being normal, we will all reach our destination.

  30. Tun

Sorry. I forgot to mention the most important event during your famous 22 year Administration.

It is the creation of the large Bumiputra middle income group and the concomitant expansion of the non-Bumiputra middle income group as well. This important factor will provide the resilience and the survival of our beloved Nation in the years to come.

  31. Tun

Just in case our fellow Bloggers have forgotten what I said in my previous comments, I seek to refresh their memories again on the 3 Golden Attributes for a Prime Minister and the subject of Putrajaya fits this to a T !

Not only this, but the construction of the Petronas Towers, the KLIA, Proton, the highways and by-ways, the growth of the new colleges and universities, the improvement of the multi-media industry, Langkawi, etc. are all part and parcel of the 3 Golden Attributes of your Premiership.

    1. Commonsense.

    2. The Ability to Think out of a Box.

    3. Compassion.

We cannot stop people from being jealous which is a normal human emotion !

And the purported loss of RM 100 Billions over a 22 year period as alleged in a book hastily put together in 2010 (and revised in 2012 because it was hastily put together), we may put this down to development expenditure !

  32. Tun

How many citizens realize that Putrajaya is not only an administrative centre but is part of the heart and soul of our beloved Nation ? The soul is Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur is the heart. An iconic place to be cherished and not to be spoiled by wanton architecture of any sort. We should be proud that such a capital arose in a nation since Brasilia was established in the 1950s !

You and us have been denigrated by all sorts of people with ulterior motives to get on to the fast trek escalator to power using the most foul means and language. They even got the Malaysian Chinese running around the streets of Kuala Lumpur and these people only do so nowadays in Hong Kong and no where else ! I am certain the international Chinese laugh at them for breaking the rice bowls of themselves and their fore-fathers. Stupid ! These detractors claim to be able to deliver a Lee Kuan Yew type of government in Malayan Malaysian. They claim, they promise, but unfortunately, their beliefs are synonymous with the embattled BN led by the country’s best political party which is UMNO. And most important of all, their leaders used to be second-rankers in the BN and enjoyed without doubt all the benefits which were bestowed upon them. Now they want to be the boss and not the government servant.

To boot, the 6 distinguished leaders of the Opposition are the warlords of a hastily patched up group of political aspirants at a moment of weakness of the BN leadership and with the same intellectual and material ambitions of the distinguished incumbents the BN but they fervently claim to deliver the Lee Kuan Yew type of governance to Malayan Malaysia ! This promise is to be delivered by these 6 distinguished gentlemen of the Opposition of which only one is below the age of 62 and he is in his fifties.

Lee Kuan Yew ruled for more than 50 years from 1959 to 2012 a one man rule unlike Malaysia which had 6 Prime Ministers. This is Malaysian democracy the Malaysian Way for all of us. It is reported today the Singaporean Malays are finally doing well. Vide. Channelnewasia 4th November 2012.

Lee Kuan Yew in his zeal demolished many places of historical interests and worship and instead replaced what we see today a world class city of skyscrapers – a collection of fine and hollow buildings without people and without a soul. It is all based on money, money and money.

Lee Kuan Yew, in order to fill in the vacancies left by the quietly emigrated real Singaporeans or by those who were not born because of his 2-child family policy, 1970s to 1980s, has now to fill in these fine and hollow buildings with ersatz Singaporeans who are foreigners with at least S$ 1 Million for permanent residence or citizenship. Hence, Singapore is now the world’s richest country every year as buoyed up by these foreign multi-millionaires. The real and original 99% Singaporeans can never hope to catch up with anybody as chicken rice may cost up to S$27 at certain places !

This policy illustrates the fact that it takes at least 20-30 years for a person to work up the famous world class meritocratic pyramid but it takes only a few days to inject world class talent with money into the famous world class meritocratic pyramid. In other words, this famous Singaporean world class meritocratic pyramid has long become communistic ! When will the implosion or deflation come ?

What say you all ye Malaysian detractors who run down our cherished BN led by the capable UMNO leadership which provide the beliefs and aspirations of a beloved Nation especially for the Malays, the Bumiputras and all Malaysians, and our Royalty, our heritage, our legacy, our religious beliefs, our way of life and our Way of Malaysian Democracy. What say you ye 6 distinguished leaders of the Opposition ? Follow Lee Kuan Yew for what may I ask ? He who ruled for over 50 years non-stop has admitted finally of making a few mistakes recently. And these few mistakes are titanic and earth shattering !

    I discern the following :-

    1. Malaysia has no blood-stained foreign policy unlike Singapore which used money as a form of instrument which caused the deaths or injuries of innocent men, women and children and sent their leaders to fly around the world like the Flying Dutchman ! Vide. ASEAN Regional News.

    2. Malaysia did not lose US$108 Billions (RM 250 Billions) of her citizens Trust money on Wall Street in October 2008 unlike Singapore. Vide. Channelnewsasis. Lee Kuan Yew Nov. 2008. All Singaporean Blogs. 2009 to 2012. Financial Times London. Gillian Tett. ‘Singapore’s Harvard Investment Model’ April 2010. The Star. The Seah Chiang Nee’s Columns. Saturdays.

    3. Malaysia did not have a 2-child family policy unlike Singapore 1970s to 1980s which was probably in contravention of Clause 16 of the United Nations Universal Charter for Human Rights.

    4. Malaysia does not have a perfunctory Judiciary System unlike Singapore. Vide. Admiral Canaris was demeaned by Hitler who stripped him naked and then hanged him naked with piano wires. The Australian and German drug mules. The unfortunate and fortunate Mr Chee. The Tan Koon Swan Saga of 26 years ago. etc.

    5. Malaysia’s Prime Ministers did not line their pockets legally or illegally at public expense. Vide. All Singaporeans Blogs. 2009 to 2012.

    6. The importation of 5,000 pigs into Singapore, the contracts of flower nurseries, etc. are selectively controlled by Singapore.

    7. The one-man rule of Lee Kuan Yew, 1959 to 2012.

If the detractors who want to replace the BN Government with the governance of a foreign country that is Singapore by promoting the virtues of Lee Kuan Yew’s more than 50 year rule in a tiny place, they will have to take into account the above-mentioned points and many others which are too numerous to mention.

Lee Kuan Yew has admitted for the very first time that this is so and that he has made mistakes.

If anyone votes for the Opposition, you will get the above type of Lee Kuan Yew’s governance. To quote Lee Kuan Yew, ‘ We all live modestly ‘ or ‘ I only do things with honour ‘ unquote !

Vote BN. All Malaysians. Do not be hood-winked by the 6 distinguished leaders of the Opposition, all of them are more than 62 years old except one, and claim to introduce what Lee Kuan Yew did to Singapore’s 99% of the population over a more than 50 year period of one-man rule.

How can these 6 distinguished gentlemen of the Opposition do a Lee Kuan Yew on our beloved Malaysia ? It is just like chalk and cheese.

And for the BN, the quicker the return to normality the better.

  33. Assallammualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarokatuh..
    Moga sudi mengutarakan pendapat saya..

Dari Umar Al Khatab r.a. ”Sekiranya seluruh penduduk San’a bersatu melakukan pembunuhan itu nescaya aku bunuh mereka kesemuanya”!
    • Al-Qasamah
Para ulama berbeda pendapat tentang penetapan hukum qasamah.

    An Nisa [135]

And if you pretend that “My adversary has no intellect, but I only have it”-this is also the claim of your adversary. So by what are you distinguished from him? By length of beard? Or whiteness of lace? Or by frequency of coughing? Or by vehemence in claiming?!! At this point they loose the language of mockery and disdain, believing that by what they say they have the upper hand which is unanswerable.
163 If it be said: And how do you know that what you have reached is a knowledge concerning the cognoscible as it is-and not rather an ignorance you have assumed to be a knowledge? We say: If someone were to deny arithmetical cognitions, what should be said to him? Is he not to be called mentally incompetent and to be told: This proves the slightness of your understanding of arithmetical matters. For the reasoner on geometry, when he brings together the premises and arranges them according to their requirements, acquires knowledge of the conclusion necessarily in a way that cannot be doubted. Thus, also, we answer regarding the intelligibles. For if the speculative premises be arranged according to their conditions, they afford knowledge of the conclusion in a way that cannot be doubted, and the knowledge derived from the premises, once they exist, will be necessary like the knowledge of the necessary premises which produce it.

I give you some of Imam Ghazali input
Now, the refusal to believe in the mysteries of the other life is of the same kind. As to the fourth cause of the spread of unbelief—the decay of faith owing to the bad example set by learned men—there are three ways of checking it.
    (1) One can answer thus: “The learned man whom you accuse of disobeying the divine law knows that he disobeys, as you do when you drink wine or exact usury or allow yourself in evil-speaking, lying, and slander. You know your sin and yield to it, not through ignorance, but because you are mastered by concupiscence. The same is the case with the learned man. How many believe in doctors who do not abstain from fruit and cold water when strictly forbidden them by a doctor! That does not prove that those things are not dangerous, or that their faith in the doctor was not solidly established. Similar errors on the part of learned men are to be imputed solely to their weakness.”
    (2) Or again, one may say to a simple and ignorant man: “The learned man reckons upon his knowledge as a viaticum for the next life. He believes that his knowledge will save him and plead in his favor, and that his intellectual superiority will entitle him to indulgence; lastly, that if his knowledge increases his responsibility, it may also entitle him to a higher degree of consideration. All that is possible; and even if the learned man has neglected practice, he can at any rate produce proofs of his knowledge. But you, poor, witless one, if, like him, you

neglect practice, destitute as you are of knowledge, you will perish without anything to plead in your favor.”
    (3) Or one may answer, and this reason is the true one: “The truly learned man only sins through carelessness, and does not remain in a state of impenitence.
True knowledge, on the contrary, inspires in him who is initiate in it more fear and more reverence, and raises a barrier of defense between him and sin. He may slip and stumble, it is true, as is inevitable with one encompassed by human infirmity, but these slips and stumbles will not weaken his faith. The true Moslem succumbs occasionally to temptation, but he repents and will not persevere obstinately in the path of error.
I pray God the Omnipotent to place us in the ranks of his chosen, among the number of those whom he directs in the path of safety, in whom he inspires fervor lest they forget him; whom he cleanses from all defilement, that nothing may remain in them except himself; yea, of those whom he indwells completely, that they may adore none beside him.
I proceeded therefore with extreme earnestness to reflect on sense-perception and on necessary truths, to see whether I could make myself doubt them. The outcome of this protracted effort to induce doubt was that I could no longer trust sense-perception either. Doubt began to spread here and say: `From where does this reliance on sense-perception come? The most powerful sense is that of sight. Yet when it looks at the shadow (sc. of a stick or the gnomon of a sundial), it sees it standing still, and judges that there is no motion. Then by experiment and observation after an hour it knows that the shadow is moving and, moreover, that it is moving not by fits and starts but gradually and steadily by infinitely small distances in such a way that it is never in a state of rest. Again, it looks at the heavenly body (sc. the sun) and sees it small, the size of a shilling; [2] yet geometrical computations show that it is greater than the earth in size’. .
In this and similar cases of sense-perception the sense as judge forms his judgements, but another judge, the intellect, shows him repeatedly to be wrong; and the charge of falsity cannot be rebutted…

    Ribuan terima kasih Tun.

  34. Tun

For far-zone again. Your few words made reflections of memories raced through my mind – of past observations, of past experiences and of past human frailities in the Malaysian political socio-economic sphere of public life.

Some well decorated members of my community thought that I am too pro-this or pro-that, forgetting the medals on their chests. And with my humble apology, your Chinese friend should see and not look !

I grew up in a world when as a child I could see our driver cooking white tapioca in his quarters just before the arrival of the Imperial Japanese Army before the gates of Singapore. He did not eat rice. I can still remember the pungent smell of the boiled tapioca. As a child, I could remember the wives of our drivers bringing us wonderful sweetmeats and kuihs and other delicious hand-made sweets during Hari Raya for the inevitable ang-pow which my mother gave to them with thanks. I saw these ladies laboured days over the preparation of these foods.

There was not a single Malay student in my class in school.

I first met my Malay friend in an overseas university and he was an old friend of a relative of my family who was doing an advanced course there because he was a senior civil servant. His pregnant wife used to cook curries for us the very few home-sick undergraduates from Malaya.

And I met more and more Malay friends in this cold and damp country. And years later, I asked one of them why he was friendly to me. His answer was ‘ I feel comfortable with you.’

I learnt from another that telling lies is not an option because I would never be able to remember which lie I told. ( We were talking about someone else.)

And so the stories of my life carried on and accumulated into experiences which I look back as points of references. I can now discern truthfully and honestly that the BN with all those warts and scandals is still the best political group to lead us in the years ahead in contrast to those who claim to have no warts and scandals.

It was the concept of the BN that is important for all of us in beloved Malaysia. Personalities in the BN come and go. Those with the reach and the influence should be those who would right a wrong and so on when things do not seem to be on a normal keel in the interests of the majority.
This depends largely on the leadership of the key party UMNO in the BN.
Our BN formula could be emulated in some other countries because Western democracies are the public faces of Western civilizations as chalk is as different from cheese when compared with Middle Eastern and Asian civilizations.

The beauty of this is that those of us in the East may take the best out of the West for progress and discard the bad. But those in the West could not do so because the East was never in their minds as important for centuries until now.

Tun’s policy in the development of the many infra-structures around us today is the manifestation of taking the best out of the West and incorporate these into an Eastern/Asian environment. Hence, we have the Petronas Towers, Putrajaya, the system of highways and by-ways, the collegiate system of public and private colleges, etc. His detractors called this megalomania which is definitely a wrong description – what he did was to establish recognisable and unforgettable icons to proudly pronounce the achievements of our beloved country in socio-economic terms with a mixed of Western and Eastern overlay and an emphasis on Islamic and Malay refinements. You may say this is unorthodox and unique.

We just cannot have a country full of ‘tamans-tamans’ which would then truly illustrate us Malaysians as a dumb and dull lot with no creativity, innovation and vision.

Even in the self-proclaimed world best countries of the world, we could see titanic losses of money. In the eyes of some, there was no scandal. Vide. Channelnewsasia Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. Singapore lost US$ 108 Billions (RM 250 Billions) of the citizens Trust money on Wall Street in October 2008.

We do not change the Government. We change the person responsible for the scandal. Vide. Similar political scenarios in the US, the UK and other major nations. This is the normal conduct of all nations of the world. As long as our BN leadership is normal, our beloved country will arrive at the appointed destination in time. There is no necessity for us to be the world’s best or fly towards the Sun like Icarus. We are Malaysians – a normal lot of people.

Vote BN. We walk through this beloved country only once in our lifetimes.

  35. YABhg Tun,

  36. YAB,

    115. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/rafizi-eyes-pandan-will-tee-keat-defend-it/

    116. PM Najib has vowed to Malaysians to make Malaysia the best democratic country that can be seen, hear and feel by the world.

    117. MCA, typical Chinese worship/kaki bodek/yes men attitude, never want to lawan taukeh one to make them look ungrateful to the party president to loose their jobs and veto.

    118. I am sure UMNO Baru and other component parties also have this “ungrateful” anxiety too.

    119. If PM is working for a common goal for 1 Malaysia proggrames, why not have party election 1st chosen by the members before 13th general election?

    120. Once they have chosen who can seat the president seat etc, he will work with BN Chairman like what YAB has done in the past.

    121. Nevertheless, under the constitution, PM must call for general election by March 2013, still got time for party election to avoid boat rocking.

    122. No need to have BR1M.

    123. Why?

    124. Because Najib is not a Social Democrat nor Muslim activist.

    125. Why?

    126. Najib believes Malaysian taxpayers can do better job than BN and PR in developing Malaysia economy.

    Good day, YAB.

  37. Salam,

  38. Salam,

    1. Senibina Bangunan PutraJaya
    ======================
Saya amat bersetuju saranan Tun bahawa PutraJaya mesti mengekalkan identiti Malaysia.

    =========================================
    *****Sebelum 2008***

Negeri Pulau Pinang, bendera saja pokok pinang tapi buahnya lansung tak dibelah dua maupun tiga. Kasihan kat orang Tanjung Tokong dulu kena Tsunami dari laut ,la ni Tsunami lain pula dah. Di Kedah, nampak macam bulan mengembang tapi sebenarnya makin lama makin mengecut kot. Kalau duk kecut2,dengar cerita duk tikam satu sama lain. Jangan marah ye sahabat Kenatan ku. Trengganu pun dah mula sebut Trengganu kite, bahaya tu Tok Najib!!!

    ***PAS bersama Pakatan Rakyat*
Pakatan rakyat nama pun pakatan.

InsyaAllah BN terus menang jika berusaha. Sekiranya UMNO menang sokongan majoriti bumiputera seprti dulu2, secara otomatik kaum bukan bumi akan sokong parti komponen BN. Ramai pemimpin UMNO tak berusaha bersungguh2 menawan hati orang PAS. Ramai ahli politik UMNO duk ingat hati orang PAS sekeras hati pemimpin PAS. Ramai dah mula sedar sifat sebenar kebanyakan pemimpin politik depa.

Mari kita semua mengikhlaskan diri kita semata2 kerana Allah Ta’ala.

Just a matter of curiosity, what really happen to your posting on ” CONTEMPT OF COURT”? . Suddenly went missing? Are there hidden hand at work?

  42. Assalamualaikum Tun,

Allow me to refer to Amin Tan.

Drug trafficking is no ordinary crime. Why? For one thing, if someone wants to commit murder, then he just kills someone and in an instant he becomes a murderer. The crime is done by one person. The same if someone steals, then instantly he becomes a stealer. Again the crime is done by one person. But when we talk about drug trafficking, can any tom, dick and harry become a drug trafficker?

No, because drug trafficking involves a lot of people, the supplier, the distributor, the storage, etc. In other words, it is an organised crime, executed by a lot of criminals and masterminded by very smart criminals. So when we talk about drug trafficking, its not abut one person, its about a lot of criminals joining together. And that is why I am concerned.

15 years maybe alot of years for an individual drug trafficker. As stated by HBT456, a lot of taxpayers money will be needed to give food, pay the electric and water bills, etc for the drug trafficker that is put jail. This money can be used for developing the country is instead used to support the drug trafficker in jail for the next 15 years. And that is just one drug trafficker. What if there is 1,000 convicted drug traffickers? Do the taxpayers need to support them as well?

15 years is alot of years to make the drug trafficker caught ‘insaf’. Dah kena tangkap baru menyesal. But I don’t think it is a determent for potential drug trafficker.

If someone were to offer you RM10k just to bring a bag from point A to B, would you do it? You and me would not. But what if someone who is living just enough or “kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang”. The payer would also say, kalau kene tangkap pun, bukan hukuman mati pun, 15 tahun penjara je. Again, you and me may still say no. But someone out there might.

Again with the same scenario, but then the payer said, I will pay you RM10k to deliver from point A to B, tapi kalau kene tangkap ni, confirm hukuman mati. Again, you and me would still say no. What about that poor desperate person? He too would say no. Why? Because his life will be forfeited if he did drug trafficking. He would not do it even if he was offered RM100k.

    Isn’t this a better deterrent?

  43. Dear Tun

As with all sane Malaysians, my Family and I are very proud of Putrajaya to the extent that we bought a place in Camelot and called our residence “The Camelot”.

Agreed that all structures, homes and buildings as well, must have an architecture and design that is unique to Malaysia and synonymous to Putrajaya. And all designs must first be vetted by Perbadanan Putrajaya and the relevant agencies, ministry.

“Having such structures does not a Putrajaya make”

The other aspect is the mentality and mindset of the populace.

We see motorcyclists, and motorists, now regularly flaunting red lights, encroaching into the pedestrian zone while waiting at the red lights [pupils, pedestrians have to weave their way in between the motorcycles, cars, vans], parking illegally and double parking even though there are ample parking areas a stone’s throw away [very prevalent near the night markets], littering when there are rubbish bins all over the place, generating municipal solid waste when Alam Flora has a Recycling Collection Center which weighs and pays for every recycleable item taken [except for batteries, glass, tyres. Alam Flora even collects at the household’s doorstep if the household is not bothered to send their MSW over to the Recycling Collection Center].

During my time in school, we used to have Civics class in junior high where we learnt a lot about being civil. Sadly, the schools do not have this anymore. Secondly, the period of docile “education” of adults [the carrot] should be stopped immediately. The authorities should now practice enforcement and apply penalties to such offenders [the stick works !]. I do not like using Singapore as a reference but look how “clean” and efficient they have become when laws are enforced and offenders penalized.

We do NOT relish Putrajaya being just another city in Malaysia.
As for the opposition, they are a prime example of NATO [No Action Talk crap Only]. Entertaining the opposition by even just acknowledging their existence is a pain in the s [check with the specialist Mr A.I.].

Many thanks, dear Tun, for giving my 25 Sen.
God Bless You and All Sincere Malaysians.

  44. Good evening YAB,

    54. Is Guan Eng protecting his ego, his cronies’ interests, his father or his people’s interest?

    55. If Guan Eng is clean and capable, he should hantam PM Najib and his cabinet.

    56. This shows that Guan Eng is nothing but an empty vessel.

    57. After 55 years of Merdeka, if DAP is good, they have become the ruling party long time ago jor.

    That’s all, YAB.

  45. Good morning YAB,

    50. Under EPF policies, we can withdraw certain percentage from our 1st account for unit trust investment.

    51. If YAB asks how our Malaysia Islamic Fund regulated by BNM, Security Commission, EPF Chairman and MoF, I would say, MIF is doing well because it is similar to what NPS Chairman Jun Kwan Joo is explaining.

    52. Unit trust and Insurance investments are for long term investment to hedge against human errors due to fear and greed.

    Good day, YAB.

  46. What a shame..I agree with Milshah..so far..for me, for what I’ve seen, we live with ignorant people today…if this keep continue..we can see a world destruction in few decades to come….

  47. Salam Idul Adha Tun,

As we all may not be aware a Free Palestine Movement sent another supply ship SV Estelle early this month to provide much needed civilian supplies to Palestine.

And true to their WORLD KNOWN brutal regime character the Isreal Military intercepted this ship in international waters. A good number of the good people who were on this ship are held in Isreal prisons and subjected to torture.

Tun, I believe sending one such ship at a time is not going to change things.

Perhaps its time we send a fleet of 100 ships to Palestine at one go and get as many people to be on this ships as possible. The ships can come from as many ports as possible.

Let us see how the Isreal Regime will react then.

In this modern day and age where we have send man to the moon, we can’t allow such brutality to exist to a whole population of people without doing everything we can to STOP this brutality.

    Thanks Tun.

    Assalamualaikum Tun,

I wish to draw your attention by the recent announcement to abolish the death penalty for drug traffickers. I don’t think this is a good idea and I am against it. The law was enacted for a reason.//

    Dear Milshah,

We all understand the severity of the drug menace, consequences of drug addition. There is no dispute about it. But there are other factors and implications as well to the mandatory death sentence.
Mandatory death sentence means there is only one sentence, death. There is no mitigation, no alternative. What if there is a mistake. What if it is unknowing and innocent drug mule. For a fistful of ringgit, you pay for your life.
Let us be merciful. In my opinion putting a convicted drug trafficker in jail for 15 years is enough deterrent. This is only my opinion.

    amin tan

  49. Tun

For ‘far-zone’. Many thanks for your compliments and yours to Tun as well. I just happened to be able to see things which most Malaysians could not or would not see. They just look even when they were in foreign lands.

I have always been a strong supporter of all Alliance and BN parties, and UMNO ever since I was young in the 1950s. I happened to have an interest in early Malay and Malayan history. What I say these days was the accumulation of a life-time of observations and experiences. As time went by, I could discern and visualise why certain things happened to certain groups of people and why others were unaffected. You will be surprised all my Malay student friends were on scholarships in the 1950s and 1960s. Many could not afford many things of their hearts’ desires eg. a pair of suede shoes, or a pair of cavalry twill trousers etc.

From colonial times and through 1957 to 1970 before the advent of the NEP, the Malayan economy was governed by Currency Board of Malaya, Singapore, Sarawak, North Borneo and Brunei monetary policies. We could only spend what we earned. This meant only the rich stayed rich and the poor stayed poor. This was the nub of neo-colonialism with the British owning 70 percent of the good assets and the Chinese towkays and the Chinese about 15 percent with the other 15 percent belonging to the rest.

The Currency Board was dissolved in 1972 ! And Bank Negara Malaysia the banker to the Government, took its rightful place under the Malaysian sun !

It was the return of my Malay graduate friends and those already in place in Malaya like Tun and many others that this unfair hiatus was corrected through the promulgation of the NEP. And yet the untimely death of Tun Abdul Razak and transitional politics delayed the start of the NEP properly until 1981 with the premiership of Tun. To this day, there has been no explanation why this beloved country had to kick start with the NEP apart from a simple explanation that all communities would have an share of the prosperity of this nation, especially the hard-core poor.

In reality, the NEP created the Malay middle-income group in both the Government and private sectors and before this there were no opportunities for qualified Malays to reach for the sky. But with the advent of the NEP, there was hope for all to benefit from the riches of the land including the non-Bumiputras.

As for the non-Malays, their political parties should have kept pace with the new resurgent UMNO. But unfortunately, their leaders were not qualified to lead them and as a result, none of them ever mentioned the word ‘sacrifice’ and ended up going for more mundane things. Hopefully, their past records will not catch up with them.

My thinking at this juncture was simplistic.

How can the other communities progress and prosper if the Malays with their heritage and historical legacy, are not on par with the others ? This can only retard progress for all. And so, together with others, it was better to achieve the objectives of the NEP faster if top British assets could be acquired at free market prices instead of nationalization. This has been achieved with great success during the early years of the NEP and the fast trek forward during Tun’s 22 year Administration. Tun and all his predecessors understood this.

In order not to have a clouded mind, I did not open or read the ‘Malay Dilemma’ to this day even though I have two pristine copies which I bought from Donald Moore’s Bookshop in 1970 ! In the practice of politics, who can follow the writings in any book ? And a week is a long time in politics !

It is so very important in our beloved country that we always have a leadership which is normal in all respects because all Malaysians are polite, courteous and intelligent. Any deviation from the norm in a small and prosperous country will give rise to all sorts of allegations whether these are true or not. And in any country, it is at the top leadership where the buck stops (to quote President Harry S. Truman).

And why am I a staunch supporter of BN ? My reason for this is just commonsense. There is no reason to change a Government in a young and developing country just because of scandals. We change those manning the levers of power if there is need to do so. And I am also cognizant of change always. Vide. Channelnewsasia. Lee Kuan Yew November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs 2009 to 2012. The Financial Times London April 2010. Gillian Tett ‘ Singapore’s Harvard Investment Model’. The Star. Seah Chiang Nee’s Columns on Saturdays.- in October 2008, Singapore lost US $108 Billions of her citizens Trust money on Wall Street.

I have seen the attrition of many good and capable personalities affected by the many down-turns in the economic cycles since the 1960s so much so the country do not have many experienced personalities left. This is the reason why I proposed that not only to expand the private socio-economic cake but also to take into accountability of the GLCs now managed by the Government, by returning these GLCs thus :-

    1. To the former Bumiputra owners who did not break the law.

    2. To the new Bumiputra and non-Bumiputra owners.

    3. To the existing Bumiputra management and their partners.

And the Government manages the ownership of the more diffiicult Bumiputra equity as mentioned by Tun. Thus, the risky leading edge of business is left to the private owners and the Government can focus on governing and not making profits which are not required for it to do so.

Vote BN. All Malaysians in this beloved and unique land !

  50. YAB,

    22. If they think of putting a good show just to make them as Malay politicians look not so archaic whom can be lobbied, they should not amend this law.

    That’s all, YAB.

  51. Good afternoon YAB,

    19. Since milshah brought in the matter wrt death penalty on drug mules, I will leave it for the state management of the courts and KDN minister concerned to decide.

    20. Sending drug mules imprisonment of 30 years is similar to granting death sentence to them on the day of the sentence.

    21. If 30 years of imprisonment is to replace death sentence, means tax payers like milshal requires to bear the cost of feeding them 30 years if they are lucky to live until that age and unable to run away from prison during this period.

    That’s all, YAB.

  52. Assalamualaikum Tun,

I wish to draw your attention by the recent announcement to abolish the death penalty for drug traffickers. I don’t think this is a good idea and I am against it. The law was enacted for a reason.

We have seen the bad impact of drugs like cocaine, ganja, opium, etc on the individual, families and society. Drug addicts are considered dead zombies or “bangkai hidup” because they live only to satisfy their drug addiction.

The drug addicts are willing to steal or even murder to get money to buy the drugs. We have heard sons stealing from parents, even killing their own family members to get money to buy the drugs. Even when these drug addicts are captured and rehabilitated, there is always the risk they returning back to drug addicts.

Historically, we have also seen how the British defeated the Chinese in the opium war to colonise Hong Kong by giving opium to the Chinese people.

Drug trafficking is a lucarative business. Profits can run into billions and there is always demand because drugs are addictive. Some countries, like Columbia, drug cartels have become so rich, they can actually build a small army. Because they are rich from the drug business they care even able to buy judges, lawyers, polices and politicians.

In the wake of this powerful drug cartels, crime rates of increased dramatically. The Columbia government had to bring in the army because the police can do nothing against these power drug cartels.

By having the mandatory death sentence on drug traffickers, anyone would think 10 times if they wish to become a drug trafficker.

But now, if the the mandatory death sentence is changed to jail term, the cost benefit in the minds of the drug trafficker has changed. The illegal drug business is very lucarative, they can buy Porsche and mansions, and if caught, they would only serve jail term.

Therefore, I do hope the mandatory death sentence for drug trafficker is maintained for the sake of the country. I know its an easy way for politicians to become popular by abolishing this and that, but think of the country interest first.

  53. Dearest YAB Tun,

I visited London recently, and there’s a new skyscraper named “THE SHARD” (also referred to as the “Shard of Glass/Shard London Bridge”); second tallest completed building in the European Union; and it also seems OUT OF PLACE.

It looks awkward because it is located near the London Tower Bridge.

    Thanks Tun.

*** May Allah SWT bless Tun and family ***

  54. Kenapa Putrajaya panas?

  55. Dear Tun,

I thank God that we the rakyat still have you to write on things that concerns some of us. I would like to think that when you write, the powers that be will tend to ‘listen’.

Nowadays with even the PM is on Facebook, I still feel the Government are not ‘listening’ to the people. The Government seemed to be doing more ‘marketing’ than ‘listening’.

I concur with your opinion on the need to preserve the architectural features of Putrajaya so as to make it stand on its own throughout centuries to come, and not just to satisfy some project proposal.

I love Putrajaya and when I do take my kids there, I will proudly talk about how all of it will be there for years to come for them and the grandchildren to continue to awe as a symbol of how this nation have grown. Naturally my still very young kids always shrugged off my pride as something boring and funny, but in my heart I know one day when they are grown up, they too will have the same awe that I have now everytime I visit Putrajaya.

Having said this, our Government today is a dissappointment despite they has learnt a bitter lesson when the previous PM before this one was not ‘listening’ either.

Thus, it is hardly a surprise my dear Tun of this kind of ‘short thinking’ mentality.

Nevertheless, you are a fresh breeze of air in this suffocating environment of ‘political paralysis’ – as I like to call it – on the part of the Government of the day.

I dont agree with your opinion on all matters but on most matters I salute your consistency and your ‘heart’ concerning the country.

I dont agree that the Goverment have done enough on corruption for example…and in this case of Putrajaya, dont be surprised that it could be due to corrupt practices, but of course we cant say anything if we cant prove it! (as if those people who are corrupt would be stupid enough to do it for all to see…)

  56. THE ARCHITECTURE DESIGN
THE LANDMARK OF A BUILDING SYMBOLIZE
    THE IDENTITY OF A NATION

MALAYSIA MUST CONTROL THE INFLUX OF FOREIGNER
AS INVESTOR TO BOOST OUR ECONOMY
BUT MUST NOT ALLOW INVESTOR TO INVADE
AS IN TO SETTLE AND HAVE LAND IN MALAYSIA
PENANG IS BRINGING AS MUCH FROM SINGAPORE
AS SUCH WILL STRENGTHEN THEIR POLITICAL ROOTS
SINGAPORE GOVT COLLECTS MUCH CHINESE MALAYSIAN TO BE THEIR PERMANENT RESIDENCE,GIVING CITIZENSHIP
SUCH THREATEN MORE THE MALAY ROOTS THERE
THEY DISALLOW MALAYSIAN MALAYS TO BE
    THEIR PR NOR CITIZENS
THEY ALSO DISALLOW INDONESIA TO HAVE WORK PERMIT
INSTEAD THEY ALLOW MORE AND MORE CHINESE FROM CHINA
MILLIONS OF INDONESIA ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR THEIR NEIGHBOR

  57. Peace Tun,

    1. In my many years as observer of your style of politics, i am of the opinion this time Tun, you hit on the dazed button spot on.

    2. Why i say so i because you have effectively numbed the Malays into thinking which party they should vote for, leaving them in a more confused state than they were say several months ago.

    3. My reading is that, w.r.t. MCA latest sky dive, not as glamourous as Felix’s, is that the BN coalition effectively shot themselves in the foot.

    4. My plea Tun, is have mercy on BN. They have tried their best.

  58. Salam Tun.

When KLIA Sepang was nearing completion with F1 track & Bt Jalil complex projects still on-going, Tun decided to continue with the ‘mega money spinning’ projects by shifting the Federal capital elsewhere nearby, thus ensuring continued development and providing employment opportunities, while simultaneously reducing traffic crawls to all road leading into KL during the morning rush hours.
However it was Anwar that made the announcement, “Perang Besar will be the new Federal Capital of Malaysia”. The name was later changed to Putrajaya.

Immediately afterwards or thereabout, Anwar requested his father be included in the board of directors of a major public listed company with large properties bordering/surrounding Perang Besar.
All of his plentiful ‘overnight became millionaires’ cronies that he created during the past 3-short years as MOF were then openly planning/scheming on ways to become multi-millionaires next, and unperturbed by the ‘no moral’ gossips on Anwar fast spreading like wildfire to a dry and windy Australian bush.

Anwar was sacked for being a low-moral creature, and his instant millionaire cronies declared war with Dr. M, and many left for overseas together with their riches, which Malaysia was then very desperate to hold on to whatever currencies to help resist the financial woes caused by crooks like Soros and at the invitation of Anwar.

The Putrajaya that we see today will never see her present grandeur if Anwar & cronies have had their ways then!
Even the then PAS president was seriously considering selling Putrajaya to a certain middle-east country if they win the election!

  59. Good evening YAB,

I take this opportunity to wish “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilatha atau Raya Haji” to YAB and family.

    Goodnight, YAB.

  60. YA Bhg Tun,

For such an important place as Putrajaya, I would propose that any future development and construction of structures be exposed to the public for comments. If left unattended, we will see more tasteless buildings, artless and out of synchrony with any thing – be it of future historical landmark, of something cultured, refined or symbolic of anything. And the architect will proudly say, “Oh, it’s my style” which I have heard many times before. Regardless of how it looks, he gets paid well.

And as for the guy who approves it? Obviously we need someone who is more cultured and with high degree of genuine intellectual literacy.

One hundred years ago Kuala Lumpur was a tiny little town with a few buildings. We have this vision that one hundred years from now Putrajaya will be an attractive cosmopolitan with its own aura, a garden city, a city well designed, of high art and futuristic construction, with its own charm and majestic attractions, something our future generation will thank us for and be very proud to preserve our unique heritage.

  61. YABhg Tun,

I am not at all surprised, sir. I believe it’s the same everwhere here in Malaysia. You should look at our schools in particular, eveything nice when newly completed. But, try to come back a few years and you’ll find new colourful structures everywhere/anywhere with roofs of all kinds, signages, murals of all sizes and colours all over the place….etc etc

  62. Dear Tun,
Though I hardly write in my comment, I would open your blog almost every day. I look forward to your refreshing ideas and critical thinking of yours and of course all the comments made by your readers that I find most amusing and informative though sometimes annoying. Congratulations on your most recent appointment! The problem with Malaysian is that probably we like ‘rojak ‘ too much! There’s pro and cons but when it is reflected in the construction of a city, it’s just damaging and very sad. There seems to be no continuation or lack of vision by the city planner(s) or just pure ignorance on their part. Somehow, I believe they would come up with excuses that it’s the developers money so it is up to them to do what they want. For me, this type of thinking defeats the purpose of hiring educated city planners or in many cases sending them abroad for seminars etc. I think not just Putra jaya but all the main towns in this country and it is particularly sad for Putrajaya.
By the way, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Mubarakchan for his continuous support for BN and his understanding with the Malay dilemma. Apart from Tun, you are also one in the million. My closest friend is Chinese but I know that she still thinks Malay is ‘beneath’ her race. Thank you Tun for opening my window to the world. Hanya Allah s.a.w yang dapat membalas jasa Tun.

  63. YABhg Tun,

Ceritanya hampir sama apabila tukang gunting dan nak jadi tukang gigi ( When a barber wants to become a dentist) Begitu cara kita membangunkan Taman-Taman di Putrajaya. Begitu jugalah pembangunan physical kita

  64. Tun

Sorry. A minor correction on line 2 of my Comment ‘…an artist who wanted to be an architect.’ and last para. ‘…to provide the guidelines…

  65. Tun

I always teased my architect friends that there is an artist ready to jump out of their skin. But I have never met an artisit who wanted to be an artist.

This glass blockhouse which you mentioned, must have been either the owner or the architect wanted to make a statement to show originality. But unfortunately, they must have missed the plot because they had not got the vision, the experience and the aesthetic taste which fired up your determination to create an exceptional capital for all time for Malaysia. As a result, this ugly glass building stands out like a sore thumb amongst the fine Islamic and Malay inspired architectural examples around it.

Your broad strokes in the creation of a masterpiece which is Putrajaya is now marred by one little pimple when the purpose and the thematic nature to showcase Islamic and Malay fine arts and architecture were overlooked. How sad !

There is a very ugly building which has just been built next to the Ministry of Agriculture along Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Kuala Lumpur. The Ministry was supposed to shift to Putrajaya. It did not otherwise there would have been 2 eyesores instead of one.

You were correct to establish a capital city for the Government called Putrajaya.

There is Canberra, Pretoria, Washington D.C. and the Imperial pile of red stones by Lutyens and his associate called New Delhi in 1931. Each and every one has a theme. London with its shop-lined streets and Paris with the boulevards and of course, Vienna with its imperial palaces of the Hapsburgs now devoid of royalty.

However in Kuala Lumpur, you will find examples of the Honolulu Treasury Building, Hawaii, the Yokohama Intercontinental and the Citibank, New York.

As the architects run out of ideas and constrained by the forms and functions which are provided by the modern materials, eventually only the very best architects will come up with unique designs like the Petronas Twin Towers.

When I first visited Putrajaya, I was struck by its unique ochre colour and designs which seemed to be something out of the Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers comics of my youth. It was definitely exceptional.

A friend of mine bought a heritage building in Sydney and he wanted to change it into a hotel. He told me that every small renovation had to have the consent of the City Council and this approval usually took weeks. Eventually, he gave up.

If the authorities charged with the maintenance and construction of Putrajaya are equipped with a master plan to follow, surely more eyesores would not erupt on this masterwork in the future. In any event, if the powers that are want to make a statement at anytime in the future, there will be no one to stop if they do not appreciate the beauty of the masterwork. Hence, it maybe timely to publish an authoritative book or manual to proved the guidelines for future constructions to follow or Putrajaya, unique administrative city will end up making no statement whatsoever in the years ahead being dotted with incongruous eyesores all over the place. This is bound to happen !

Vote BN all Malaysians ! And feel big and strong !

  66. Salam Sejahtera
    YAB Tun Dr Mahathir

Putrajaya is Tun’s fanstastic idea as any other Tun’s contribution to make Malaysia an advanced nation, comparable among those in the world, in addition to its uniqueness as a peaceful, harmoniuous multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-cultural country that have become the envy of many in the world.

As many things are not perfect, so is Putrajaya. The glaring one is the poor signage for direction and location. Even the locals are complaining about the difficulties they experienced when travelling in Putrajaya. Then what about those from outside Selangor and the foreigners? The Putrajaya Holdings should seriously look into these matters. It seems to ordinary people as a small matter but it will cause great embarassment to such a great city. The same were said about KLIA regarding bad signage. Maybe the road design “director” must be from outside Selangor or Malaysia and not the staff of Putrajaya Holdings, as to ensure the signage are very clear and effective.

Maybe slight out of the topic…

One of the leaders of the opposition had once indicated that they will SELL Putrajaya because it is a waste of public funds, if they are in power. How he wanted to do it, only known to himself. Ironically, now the opposition is scrambling ( as smell blood to take over the government ) to “go” to Putrajaya and the PM will stay in the PM’s residence which they dubbed as Mahathir’s grand palace. These people are really without shame.. as pepatah Melayu..” muka tebal”.

We pray that may Allah SWT protect us from TTS ( tentera-tentera syaitan ) among us.

  70. SALAM KASIH DAN SAYANG
    AYAHANDA RAKYAT TUN
    Izinkan,

    10. For that matter every state in Malaysia has its own unique architecture. We never had high rise buildings. For a time we did not know what to do to make these skyscrapers look Malaysian. But now we have brought back the Malaysian roofs to top our high rise buildings.

We beleived the first of such building with the Malay roof architecture was the apartments across the T-Junction of University Hospital, PJ and the architect (now deceased) who was asked to design it was very reluctant and pessimictic about it initially. We told him to just imagine ‘ the short and long pants’ with the same top.. and the rest is history.

WAWASAN 2020 BUKAN TITIK PENYUDAH BAGI JENERASI MENDATANG IA BERMULA

    ALFATIHAH, AMIN
Ps. To adik HBT, if we look at the bigger picture, Putrajaya is not about spending money for a lost cause. Take good care.

  71. Good morning YAB,

    15. What Putrajaya Holdings require to do in the long run to maintain the uniqueness of Putrajaya’s architecture is to maintain low rise condominium and apartments, landed property of single, double, bungalow, low rise buildings for rental and sales and beautiful botanic and tropical gardens to maintain her fresh air, and green technology for our future generations to come.

    16. Once they locked in this view, Putrajaya can contribute property taxes and tourism revenue to our Federal Government.

    17. Putrajaya Holdings’s utmost mission is to increase human traffic from middle to higher income earners to improve her revenue before taxes.

    18. Question of “To be or not to be” by spending money for a lost cause just to maintain faith, that is the question to be answered by Putrajaya Holdings, Federal Government and Malaysians.

    Good day, YAB.
P.S. Buildings in Washington DC must not be taller than her National Monument.
