2. I am not an intellectual but I admit that I use my brain more often than most.
3. I was one with the lowest result in my Senior Cambridge Examination to be admitted in the College of Medicine. There were seven Malays whose results were all very inferior to the other students. Apparently the British were practising affirmative action in 1947. So much for being an intellectual.
5. It also did not need an intellectual to learn from successful people. The Japanese and the Koreans succeeded in developing their countries after the destruction wrought by war. Obviously if we want to develop Malaysia we should learn from these successful people. Hence the Look East policy.
6. And finally if you want to go somewhere you must determine the destination. We want our country to develop. The destination must obviously be the developed countries. The steps that have to be taken must be those which lead to the status of a developed country. Hence vision 2020.
7. I must admit that if I had no authority I would not be able to do anything to achieve these targets. It is not power. It is the authority accorded the Prime Minister which is not accorded to anyone else.
8. Without that authority one can dream. Many Malaysians may have dreamed but authority gave the opportunity to implement dreams.
9. I am not a complex person. There is no mystery about what I did. If other PMs want to do what I did, they can. But if they have other agenda then they would attend to fulfilling their agenda. It is as simple as that. There really is no necessity to figure out the complexity of the thought process and the mystery of doing these simple things.
Salam Tun.
Once there’s this retired professor, very well-known and often invited to give talks and participate in group discussions and forums. Many Malaysians respected him for his supposedly intellectual capacity/capability.
Then one day he made a stunning announcement “Hang Tuah never existed. Earliest written documents about Hang Tuah only appeared about 300 years later”, or something similar with the same intended meaning.
Prof Khoo, a Chinaman, making/causing such sensitive racial issues on the Malay ancestorial roots at a time when Chinese racist sentiments in Malaysia are at an all time high and knowing fully well kuan yew’s racist lot from Singapura are all watching tentatively with the hungry looks to gobble up Malaysia, and couple with the impending PRU13 just around the corner.
I’ll definitely liken him to a duckling, the bird that continuously made the quack quack quack noise. Prof ‘quack’ Khoo!
His rational was definitely not consistent with the other historical findings on similar matters throughout the world.
His timing was purposely made to coincide with the forth coming PRU13.
His action can be accurately construed as aggravating Malay unity especially with the 3 political parties lining up for Malay support.
Whatever any hidden agenda and/or monetary rewards that this quack prof was hoping to achieve, I can confidently predict the response by the Malays as follows:
1. Contradictory to what this Khoo and/or his sponsor had hoped, Malay unity will be greatly enhanced as more/greater numbers will desert that Anwar maniac.
2. Do not make similar racist remarks in the future, else he will be doubly rewarded as in “prof ’quack quack’ Khoo!”
3. He was never an intellect.
By the way, that UM law faculty teacher Azmi “please call me moron” Sharom also claims that he’s very intellectual!
Salam
YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Yg DiRahmati Allah s.w.t.
5. Orang bodoh lain ialah semua pengikut PAS, kerana dah tahu PAS tu tak betul, memporak perandakan umat Islam dan membodohkan umat Islam, masih terhegeh2 ikut jugak, kononnya nak menangkan N.ajis ………………. N.ajis tu perosak, sedarlah wahai pengikut PAS yang dah tinggal sikit tu.
Salam TUN,
Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Dan Batin.
TO: Tuntuah,
Your post dated Aug.27 2012 11.32PM.
The United States and Euro Zones’ economy, both are in a doldrums.
Who do you think perpetrates this situation, the so-called intellectuals or failed SRP guys?
A rocket consists of different individual components which are outsourced to vendors.
The vendors do not hire engineer to machine, weld or assemble the parts together.
When your car is broken. You will send it to your favourite repair shop who hired failed SRP guys to fix it.
They are useful to society and should not be scorned at.
During the 1997 Asian financial crises,Malaysian currency devalued, being attacked by foreign rouge traders.
With the then Finance Minister of the day,IMF was at our door step soliciting a deal.
With TUN,s quick thinking and as a Medical Practioner, not an economist averted the IMF grip by pegging the Ringgit.
Malaysians has forgotten that the Orang Puteh has labelled us by degratory name.
Today,15 years later our GDP growth for the second quarter 2012 is 5.4%.
Most youths are not aware of that significant day that changes their fate.
Today, they are gazing at the stars, gambling their fate by going for the unknown.
As the proverb goes, one bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Tun..
Maksud Allah Maha Kaya ialah ianya tidak berhajatkan sesuatu seperti orang melayu menyatakan…Free of All Wants..
Jadi mengapa Allah menjadikan manusia?
Mengapa begini?
Mengapa begitu?…
Buat lah lagi Amin Tan, seksa Allah pantas sekali, jika kamu ketahui.
Sekian Tun, Terima Kasih.

For PAShit
You are a good person and human to the your very heart and mind.
Like Tun, I accept all humankind as friends even Singaporeans. Just an example. He really helped the Africans because most of the Malaysian enterprises there lost their money.
I know Tun is not a dictator, racist, and other worst names imaginable etc thrown at him by the Opposition. I know Tun cannot be all those even if he wanted to because doctors are not trained that way.
He definitely spent 3 terms reflecting on life and death over a dead body.
And we cannot choose our parents.
Doctors know that we are all the same under the skin, nothing more or nothing less.
Vote BN always all Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese. You will all participate in a New Dawn for Malaysia, a unique and beloved land for all.
Salam Tun,
Sdr Mubarakchan,
As a Singapore born individual I would like to say WELL SAID SIR!
Smoke and mirrors,bluffology…hehe

Always a sound mind Tun. You always impresses me with you thoughts..Words of my uncle came to my mind ‘Tun Mahathir was with the highest integrity no one could ever challenged’..

Terima kasih..
Good morning YAB,
10. Is YAB a simple minded person as written in point 9?
11. If Osama Laden was a simple minded person who accepted God’s will of not being chosen and did not memorize the Quran, would 911 and civil wars in Middle-East happened in 21st century?
12. You owed good Malaysians a generation of wealth and opportunity to excel to stand tall and proud.
13. Because of YAB’s greed for power and fear of losing power, YAB, sacrificed our children for your selfish ideology.
14. Can I forgive and forget after finding what YAB has done due to ego and race power?
15. Instead of forcing myself to forgive and forget what YAB has done, I have chosen what God intends by liberalizing my perception first.
16. The more the Malays oppressed Malaysians via Agong’s power assuming Agong is blind and deaf, they will be replaced by other people.
17. What the ex-PM of Thailand had done to 90 Thai civilians is a good example for Malaysians to watch.
18. Is Bersih a good move to develop Malaysians healthily, the result will be in GE13th via people power?
19. What caused this non-political movement of Bersih rise?
20. YAB knew deep in your heart, and it’s painful and tough.
21. Does YAB wants to pass this pain unto your children, grandchildren and BN?
22. YAB has a choice today.
Good day, YAB.

Dont be hypocrites people.
Who on earth will employ failed SRP guy to engineer a rocket to MARS?
Be real people. Academic achievement is a priority for that job. Not a chance for the failed SRP guy to be employed for such post. Maybe a rocket too much. How about scaffolding…. Ishh maybe too much think out of the box hence not focus. Wasted.//
1-Selamat hari raya to you bro
2-I agree with you academic achievement is necessary to be employed..to be a rocket engineer..if this is your measure of success..to be employed..
3-But to be an employer is different. It takes more than just brains you also need heart matters that is usually achieved from a great amount of experience that sometimes academic excellence alone would deprive you.
4-A simple example is our late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong..he has no academic credentials..and many other famous names…
5-I believe academic excellence is very important but it must be balanced with non academic too..like sports..to bring out the heart matters..like being
competitive,resilient,passionate,persistent,etc,etc
6-I am sure you would agree that being balanced is something always positive ,in or out of the box?
Maaf zahir Bathin

Your Blog is become more and more interesting and exciting without any vulgarity or demeaning phrases. It encourages me to think and put down ideas.
Take the case of the Malays. There is nothing wrong with them as far as I can see from my experience of a life-time of meeting all sorts of people.
It is good that some Bloggers brought up their views of themselves and others. I think the Malays have done very well and so did the non-Malays.
But much still need to be done and corrected depending on the sacrifices of the practising politicians !
In every group of people, whether it is political or otherwise, the hopes and aspirations of the majority rest with their leader and this is most important throughout the planet. This is not unique to Malaysia !
I am always conscious of the leadership of the Malays, UMNO. If the leadership does not have the 3 criteria for leadership, as they say ‘even the non-Malays’ goose is cooked !’. So much is the reliance of us on each other in this beloved unique country called Malaysia.
The 3 Criteria to be a Prime Minister.
1. Commonsense.
2. Ability to think out of the Box.
3. Compassion.
Apart from the leader known as the Prime Minister, there is also the whole array of icons and heroes which must be in place in our country or any other country for that matter.
Iconoclastic suggestion of any kind should be discouraged or frowned upon.
From the Yang Di Pertuan Agong, the Royal Sultans and the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, we have the members of the Dewan Rakyat who are all icons. Moving on to the places of higher education and the school system, all the heads and the teachers are icons or heroes in one way or another to their students. Then, in the field of sports, entertainment and other professions which could produce more heroes and icons.
And the most important icons or heroes of all, are the heads of famillies, the fathers and the mothers.
Malaysia has all these in place concerning the Bumiputras and the non-Bumiputras. What it needs is a forthright leadership which only the BN can provide with its experience and gems of wisdom.
If PAS decides to join the BN and moves the Nation to the next level, this is the best of all.
What is PAS waiting for ? It is already 2012.

I think it is about accepting that our new PM may not be as “intelect” as Tun, but this is i feel a wrong and unfair judgement.
What goes on inside ones neuron is anybody guess. I think all humans are intelligent, only that many do not fill their brains with knowledge useful to them.
Among the normal hindrances to advancement are fear, prejudice, disinterest, bias,, and superstition, all of which can be significantly reduced by good knowledge.
Knowledge is Power.
Salam Tun,
For the sake of Malaysia, May I suggest that the Prime Minnister, Datok Seri Najib Advise The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to haul up those who are responsible to hold a gathering at Dataran Merdeka on the night of 30th/31st August 2012.
Here I am referring to the people from BERSIH.
Enough of Bersih antics and nonsense.

Masya’allah.
Hanya sejarah yg akan akan mengambarkan bukti kebenaran atas jasa2 Tun. Kalau kita menunggu 400 tahun utk keluar dari belenggu penjajah, mungkinkah kita perlu tunggu 400 tahun lagi utk mendapat pemimpin saperti Tun? Wallahu’alam.
Semuga Allah SWT memberi kita semua perlindungan dari TTS (tentera-tentera syaitan).

Dear Tun,
Please allow me to comment on MiddleAges
Hanya penat. Ubatnya rehat.//
Stress can be due to excessive work load and anxiety to complete within the dateline given. Stress could be due to our inability to do some task beyond our capability.
I disagree with MiddleAges that stress is due ‘sifat hendak kaya cepat, dosa busuk hati’ Itu sifat semulajadi manusia seperti tamak dan dengki.
amin tan
Najib should look below . There is very successful small dot just across the causeway.
Salam Tun, ampun…mohon masuk lagi, hehe
1. Intelligence is not everything – let us take a look at the so-called intelligent malays (it’s not that I’m not interested in other races intelligent people, but wanna share about my malays)
a. the real intelligent malays are like Tun, thinking as a real muslim, overall, to grow healthy in all directions like the ones in your wawasan 2020, including to other people of different races and religions in this country. Tun had proven these.
b. the half-baked intelligent people (including those even with PhDs) are those who know very well how to make gains for themselves, cronies and races only. They will use all venues to get what they want, intelligently, including using tricks, improper channels, immoral ways, etc
c. the morons are the malays who put their trust in anwar and PKR, trust in hadi awang, nik aziz and PAS and obviously to DAP…moron because they failed to see that anwar, nik aziz, hadi awang will take their votes and submit to the real PR god – DAP. That’s why mansor PKR mentioned guan eng and DAP as arrogant because, only god or who think they are god can afford to become arrogant. Only the intelligent can know the reason, the moron just nod their heads…
d. the malay morons (I like..) are eager to use their votes to ‘teach UMNO’ a lesson (that’s what they said), so when UMNO people behaved, then only in PRU14, they will vote for UMNO again – see, how morons work…Allah gives us good brains to use, to observe, think,…what PAS has done good in kelantan (besides lining according to gender in supermarkets) after more than 20 years, what the chinese had done in perak when nazar the DAP balaci ruled, after nearly 5 years PR in selangor (more rumah urut, lesen judi, arak, using land act to seize the malay lands), etc. The saddest part is when the so-called intelligent malays supported PR even after experiencing these ‘catastropes’.
e. Maybe, just maybe they are not totally morons, but like what Mohamed imran (the reading group singapore – explaining about the malays there) said, about neurotic malays; malays looking down on other malays whom they considered not intelligent because of merit, because those malays could not talk in english, because those malays are not like the hard-working chinese, and to the extent that these neurotic malays wanted to relate to their chinese counterpart, like saying ‘my mother is a chinese…’ Punya malu mengaku melayu sebab bangsa melayu dihina teruk di singapore, macamana orang melayu sini melihat orang indon….
What I am trying to say is that some malays do not want to show they support UMNO maybe because UMNO is for the masses, ordinary malays, so they being so-called intelligent malays wanted us to look at them as the better malays who made it on their own – meritocracy. Malu man if people say you are up there because of UMNO, but in reality most of them were from boarding schools purposely for malays to excel…these are the kurang ajar malays I dare say.
Conclusions; there are intelligent malays like Tun, half-baked ones, the morons and the kurang ajars.

Perhaps I should elaborate on what I mean that Singapore’s only natural resource is ‘bluffology’ – in ordinary Malaysian parlance ‘bull-shit’ for the edification of some on this Blog.
It is the only country in the world who has this natural resource arising from her all out efforts to do down Malaysia. This was her mistake.
This maneuver rubbed off on her own citizens as well. This is dangerous in dulling their senses and creates complacency and arrogance. Vide. Hans Christian Anderson.
We, Malaysians, are just a bunch of folks who will do no one any harm and generally enjoy ourselves in a world in which we walk only once in a life-time. We are friendly and hospitable and do not size up our friends in money terms.
Singapore would have succeeded very well if she had pondered and decided to compete with the rest of the World, the likes of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, Bombay etc.
The mistakes of the leadership of Singapore are now very clear for all to see which I have enumerated in my previous comments. There is no turning back of history.
Of course, credit must be given where credit is due for example, like building housing for the general population and the creation of a former entreport into a 21st century metropolis. There is no doubt about this.
All these are entwined by laws which maybe self-serving to the elite depending on who is at the wrong end of the stick. By relying entirely on the laws to protect or control the populace, this can only result in a situation where there is a complete absence of compassion in preference to money which is masked by meritocracy. Vide. Australian and German drug mules. This emotion, compassion, is what Singapore lacks and may cause its own downfall. This emotion is what a human-being needs. It is basic. It is a ballast to a human well-being which cannot be bought with money. And it is as simple as this.
Without compassion, Singapore is like a hollow bamboo stem stuffed with money (foreign). This is a fact.
The indulgence of Singapore in an orgy of bluffology all these years maybe ingrained in its inhabitants since the beginning of time especially towards Malaysia (Malaya).
1. I was an undergraduate at a university in which Singaporeans with the prestigious Queen’s scholarship regularly turned up. I was impressed at first. But eventually, I discovered that they were no better than I was. Through our joint Association, each year they told us Malayans convincingly to vote them into office. By the 2nd year, I discovered we outnumbered them 2 to 1. We voted ourselves into the chair. From then on, I could control for a short period with just 5 pounds from London. You may say this was the beginning of money politics.
2. A senior member of the Singapore leadership recently told the Singaporeans which are only now about half of what they should number that it is A OK to start their engines again. But my friends reported that their factories had closed down over 20 years ago. And no goods could be produced even if they worked overtime for double the money ! The very thought of Singapore’s laws cool down their passion, if any left. The smart ones know where to go, Kuala Lumpur ! This is a clear case of a lack of compassion and human beings are treated like some animals.
And this senior gentleman airily said as a matter of course about Singapore’s demographics as though human beings are robots which could be replicated in 20 to 30 years time. Where is the compassion ?
3. Singapore proudly announced recently that annually there is an increase of millionaires. The fact is only the billionaires and millionaires are in the statistics. It takes more than S$ 1 Million to be a permanent resident. What about the thousands of imported manual workers who make up the population also ? Vide. The Star. Seah Chiang Nee Columns.
4. Singapore’s Olympic medals are made in China. Malaysia’s Olympic medals are proudly made in Malaysia. Money can buy jet fighter pilots, tank drivers, brigades of aging Gurkhas, submariners etc. which are actually show pieces for the arms trade. In the 1970s, the Libyan agent of a Singapore firm manufacturing military soft-ware could retire to Monte Carlo after 5 years in the business.
5. Singapore proudly announced that her Navy is the second best in the world to the United States. Not many years ago, a Singaporean naval officer died and her body was not recovered when an Indonesian tanker bore down on her ship one fine night.
6. Singapore also announced that her Fire Brigade is the best in Asia. This is odd considering all the modern designed high rise buildings are with the latest safety features. The irony is the flooding of large parts of Singapore due to the reduced level of the water table from the development of buildings in recent years.
7. Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transport System is now plagued by breakdowns. Once upon a time, it was touted that the over 100 year London Underground or even Hong Kong could learn a thing or two from Singapore.
8. At the height of the 1997 crisis in Malaysia, two Singaporeans, one in Chicago and another in Jakarta, vehemently bad-mouthed Malaysia through the media. I wonder where they are now !
9. There is nothing that Malaysia can learn from the Singapore’s judiciary system even though it is touted as the world’s best by some local opposition blogs. Vide. (i) World media. (ii) Admiral Canaris. Hitler’s Judiciary demeaned him by stripping him naked in public and hung him naked with piano wires.
10. Singapore’s meritocracy failed at the most critical juncture eg. the loss of US$ 108 Billions of her Rakyat’s hard-earned and real money in October 2008 on Wall Street. Vide. Channelnewsasia. Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs. 2009-2012. Financial Times London
Gillian Tett ‘Singapore’s Harvard Model’ April 2010. The Star. ‘Seah Chiang Nee’ 25 August 2012.
11. The Opposition has claimed on behalf of Singapore that she has no corruption, nepotism, cronyism etc. My answer is :-
i) The sale of Kim Eng Securities to Maybank.
ii) The importation of 5,000 pigs daily.
iii) Service contracts to flower nurseries etc.
iv) Miscellaneous.
I can only conclude that the Malaysians maybe conned some of the time but not all the time which is final arbiter of right or wrong.
And if Singapore fails in its enterprise, as I said before she will have the following choices for a national referendum :-
1. Merge with Malaysia. But with the increasing numbers from India and China and a peculiar set of people, how ?
2. Becomes a British Colony again, like the Cayman Islands etc.
3. Becomes the 53rd State of the United States.
4. Continues with her status quo.
Singapore becomes more and more interesting for study as time goes by !
Without the magic shows with smoke and mirrors, it becomes a test-tube case study of a creation of a modern metropolis by one single gentleman – on its success or failure !
Salam Tun and fellow bloggers,
1. Tun kelakarlah kata tak inteligen…
idea mereka. Semua kita ada autoriti di peringkat masing
masing;
a. sejauhmana kita guna autoriti sebagai mak bapak untuk
menyedarkan anak2, especially tentang ancaman
Kalau tanpa inteligen, saya fikir Tun tidak nampak wawasan 2020 – bermula dengan a dream, tetapi all system go to realize the dream.
Tun, minta ampun, nak sindir sikit MiddleAge dengan item no 3 nya;
‘I think now is the time to pass the baton…’ Kalau dia maksudkan Tun, Tun sudah pass the baton. Tapi kalau dia maksudkan BN pass the baton to PR, then my calling him ‘an ignoramus’ stands.
Satu lagi, MiddleAge kata ‘ we are one race, the human race, for as long as malaysians prefer to ignore it, we will not advance in a harmonious manner…’ My friend, the malays backing UMNO, BN hold fast to this principle, but who started to divide the malays, to deprive the malays, to challenge the malays…so I supposed you better take your words to nik aziz, kit siang, anwar, hadi, guan eng…they need your advice, really. They instigated their followers to divide our so-called human race…PAS is for real muslims, DAP for the chineses…daa, wake up my man..
[Plan]
raise government-owned companies employing only Malaysians with support of Chinese
-> enhance Malaysian’s economic status
-> when average income of Malaysians become similar to that of Chinese, allow citizenship to Chinese
What do you say? Concept is simple. Exchange wealth and power so that both races could have both and prosper.
But i guess you might be valuing the nation of one race so much that you’d rather choose to be poor than accepting the other races. Your final goal seems to be something like making Malaysians get successful by themselves and expelling all the other races outside Malaysia. Well, I should admit it is Malaysian’s choice so long as they have political power even though there might be an easier solution. But You mentioning Asian co-operation or something really made me laugh while you are doing so. I am sorry to say but I cannot afford to cooperate with your kinds.
From my perspective, you have spoiled Malaysians. You just let them want to depend on easy achievement without working hard. Instead of protecting them, You had to force them to struggle for success, saying “Do you want to succeed? Study hard! Work hard! I will give you opportunities to study and work as same as Chinese have. Prove you can succeed like them! Learn the ability to work, compete with Chinese, work to make money and grab your success! But if you don’t, you won’t get any.”
Nothing is achieved without efforts.
Ok. this is it. I don’t know whether you will read my article or not, but I just wrote my opinion on my whim. I know you don’t have any power, so it might have been meaningless and the waste of my precious time. Good for pastime though.
I guessed Malaysia might be a place where many races live and cooperate together but I was wrong. I wish that I be not mistaken as a Chinese and attacked when I travel to Malaysia. Good grief that I purchased my flight ticket which cannot be canceled for now, before analysing Malaysia. But it is better to go there knowing about racism than to go there ignorant of it. I thank God to allow me to know about this in advance.
Good luck.
Edwin Gruhner from South Korea
P.S. How do you think I know about you? You made an appearance on a Korean news paper. There is no coincidence. Everything in the world goes as God intends. Most of them are pain and hardship though.
Memang stress kalau hidup asyik kerja keras, disiplin macam Tun.
Hanya penat. Ubatnya rehat.
Sekian Tun, Salam Hormat
Assalam Tun,
Bukan kami sahaja, banyak lagi kenderaan lain yg terpaksa berpatah balik. Tun tetap terbaik. Selamat Hari Raya dari kami.
Tun,
I lost the opportunity to comment on your previous writtings ‘The race factor’.
Let me reply to MiddleAges comments quote “We are one race, the human race, and for as long as Malaysians prefer to ignore it, we will not advance in a harmonious manner”.
As much as we like to be call as Malaysians and by disregrading the race factor, we can only dream on it.
Only dreamers could disregard the race factor in this country or only if they have their own agendas to be fullfill.
In the US, Australia dan all foreign countries they only have one national language that is english but in Malaysia we have more that one language besides the national language.
The negroes in US did not speak African or their mother toungue languages but in our county different races still speak their mother toungue languages.
Some can’t hardly speak the national language in this country and there are attempts to make the chiness and tamil language as the national language.
We even have schools that caters for the different races in this country which we can’t hope of dreaming in the western countries.
We want to call ourselves as a Malaysians race and not as malays, chinese and Indians but at the same time we want to continues to practice our cultural customes as it is and speaks in many diffrent languages.
It is a fact that the malays being the majority in this country are poor and needs help from the goverment but there are no sympathies from the other races.
What i wrote may sound racist but it is a fact malaysians have to accept.
MiddleAges also wrote “When we fully accept each other as Malaysians, we can then hope to advance”.We can goes on dreaming.
Salam Tun.

1-Academic excellence is not an indication of ones potential for excellence in life.More often than not they are going to be the reason for one’s later mediocrity in life.
2-Just look around most of the successful businessmen may only have a secondary school education but they are the ones employing MBAs.Your altitude is not determined by your aptitude but your attitude.
3-Thinking that you are not that smart made you very smart because you know you had to work extra harder ,while those cleverer guys thinking that they are already smart would be not so working hard.
4-Go back and check all those guys we gave so much prominence for scoring straight A’s since time immemorial just see how many have become successful employers today..the best of them may be employed as lecturers.
5-I think its about time we only acknowledge only true all rounders-both in academic and non academic..
6-By the way what is this posting all about actually? He,he Selamat hari raya Tun.God bless you, maaf Zahir Batin.
Thanks Tun

Another fascinating subject is brought up by you.
The Oxford Dictionary defines an intellectual as a person with a highly developed intellect.
In Malaysia, with due respect, we find many people hanker to have a Ph.D so that they could put ‘Dr’ in front of their names after whatever titles they already have, so great is the desire to be recognised as an intellectual as well. But in practice, in the Western Academia world, the use of ‘Dr’ by Ph.Doctorates would be frowned upon even surgeons proudly call themselves ‘Mr’.
Only a few could produce books written by others to propagate the alleged fact that their minds have gems of wisdom.
It is the garnishment of the mindset which is an entirely local phenomenon.
As far as I could remember, I have always told my junior friends that to be successful in life, it is better to throw away their books as they leave the universtiy’s portals and start afresh unless they are doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc.
And if they want glory, they can only find it in politics, academia (real), the military and sports. And as for business, they will never find satisfaction as after the completion of one deal, they will be chasing after another, and another…..! It is better to be a doctor because there is only one satisfactory conclusion, a patient either dies or lives !
After a life-time of observation, you would be surprised to note that less than 1% of the Oxbridge graduates (on both sides of the hallowed Causeway) who returned could adapt to the local scenario of rough and tumble even though they might be excellent in their professions. It is the British in-grained mind-set which set them up the elitist pole from which they could not descend down to the real life of Malaysia.
In reality, there is no difference over time from which university a person graduated as clearly shown by you, Tun. Other things like genes, standards, propriety, ethics and family up-bringing play a part also.
Britain’s greatest traitors, Blunt, Maclean, Burgess and Philby went up to Cambridge.
As I suggested before from my observations of the good and the great of both sides of the Causeway for a life-time as an apolitical person, there are 3 criteria to be met for the job of the Prime Minister which are fundamental in order to be successful. These are as follows :-
1. Commonsense.
From my observation of your famous 22 year Administration, you followed normal life-style and routines and holidays etc.
2. The Ability to think out of the box.
The examples from your period are many :-
i) The new system of highways.
ii) The Petronas Towers. To this day, I always wonder why the Ministry of Tourism did not request incoming tourists to fill in a simple pink form thus, ‘please tick out what you have come to see in Malaysia. a) Petronas Towers. b) Putrajaya c)………. Millions of these pink slips would have provided solid evidence to support the importance of these structures to the world and blind-sided the detractors.
iii) Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and the KL International Airport. These enhanced the values of raw land south of Kuala Lumpur, the borders of Negri Sembilan and Melaka. ( I comment on this later)
iv) Proton. The concept is brilliant but sometimes it pays to have the right partner who would help us to make the engine. But opportunities arose after 2003 to acquire excellent motorcar manufacturers. Unfortunately, our attention was distracted into selling and not buying. This is still not too late.
v) Joint Ventures with Thailand and Singapore on oil and gas related ventures.
vi) The Focus on the telemedia and its ancillary functions.
vii) The establishment of many more private colleges and universities to cater to the Rakyat and overseas students resulting in increase in foreign exchange and employment, and potential goodwill from the overseas students.
viii) The saving of UMNO (and the Malays) from extinction. It would have been sayonara for Malaysia then.
ix) The peace and stability throughout your famous 22 year Administration.
x) The creation of a solid middle-income group of Bumiputras which also carried the non-Bumiputras up from its momentum eg. the Malls etc.
xi) Malaysia gained the respect of the World especially the Third World at a time when the West was not faced with multiculutralism. Your ideas were well ahead of the time and game. You sincerely helped African States so much so most Malaysian enterprises lost their money there. Now, slowly slowly your acts and deeds and words are being recognised by the world because these were ahead of the time.
xii) Your actions after the 1997 economic disruptions to bail-out companies were correct and in the national interest. Now, with the blow-up of the Western economies in 2008, it is normal and common to leave the owners and management in place and not to remove them. Sauce for the goose, nothing for the gander ! It is OK for us folks in the West to do anything ! No one has come out to say that if you did not save all those Bumiputra companies, we would have nothing and nothing to build on today ! Ground Zero ! We are Malaysia with its unique political socio-economic structure. Our Malaysian Way !
My view has always been that the Government has the duty and responsibility in line with the NEP to return all the business enterprises now managed by the Government by civil servants with no accountability, to the following :-
a. The former owners who did not do anything illegal.
b. New Bumiputra owners with or without non-Bumiputra partners (local or foreign).
c. The present management of these GLCs. This is only fair and reasonable.
The reason is not only the question of accountability but also the creation of a bigger cake for all in the national interest (if the Government had stuck to the job of ruling and governing since 2003, there would have been less scandals today). The Bumiputras need not worry how to begin because they are already there with these entities. This will kick-start the economy and bring in foreign investors. But one word of caution, all these privately owned entities should be monitored by a special unit in the Prime Minister’s department – no more fun and games at public expense !
xiii) The Sovereignty, National Interest and Self-esteem were protected and safeguarded during your famous 22 year Administration. There was no abang-adek nonsense.
xiv) The development of Langkawi into a world’s best holiday resort.
xv) The privatisation of Government owned entities.
xvi) The support of the tin market in the interest of the industry.
xvii) The ‘Look East Policy’ was a good wake up call.
xviii) And many many more.
Let us now take a small and true story of your famous 22 year Administration which is unknown to most people. It is a Malaysian Chinese story. The Bumiputra stories are well documented.
” I employed a young Malaysian Chinese who was earning RM 500 per month with MIDF. His father was a kepala working in a British owned estate along the Selangor-Negri Sembilan border. He stole rubber from his employers (a common practice throughout the length and breadth of Malaysia to this day) to send his only son to study at the University of Western Australia and survive with his family of 7 daughters. Eventually, the son left my employment in high spirits and by the time of the re-listing of Renong Berhad, his debt to his employers, a share-broking firm, was more than RM 3.8 Million – sure die. as we Malaysians say. With Renong Berhad, he made good and is now worth at least RM 20 Million. And he has forgotten his past, he assumed a new identity as the top-gun advisor to the head honcho of a political party and his family with a leftist bent.”
The above is not what I really wanted to tell but the fact that his impoverished father, the kepala, bought 16 acres or more of estate lands along the Selangor-Negri Sembilan border near Nilai in the very early days and overnight with the development of the KL International Airport, the whole area was re-valued up to RM 100,000+ per acre.
There are thousands of stories like this which are based on small allotments of the lands by the States to non-Malays throughout Malaysia since the 1960s. This is a fact which major non-Malay political parties seemed to have forgotten. And further, hundreds of thousands of acres are leased out by the States and Bumiputra owners to the non-Bumiputras for productive agricultural activities throughout Malaysia.
3. Compassion.
The problem is all doctors are compassionate. There is no hatred, vindictivenes, revenge etc in their hearts. This also gives rise to the attraction of those with secret agendas to the seat of power. Some of them are good but some are now shown to be naked under the spotlight of history. I observed many negative events happened when ‘yes’ men were involved and said ‘yes’ for fear of losing their jobs.
And now the performance of Singapore under the awe-some Lee Kuan Yew who entered the lowest ranking non-collegiate Fitzwilliam House (out of 30 colleges) University of Cambridge, through the back-door and came out with a war-time ‘Double First’ degree with which he could influence 2 generations of Singaporeans, most Malaysian Chinese and some Bumiputras and created a modern Singapore into a hollow and soulless temple stuffed full of money (mainly foreign). His wife was ranked 3rd out of 400 at the London Bar Finals. My wife ranked 7th out of 700. Maybe he ranked Third Class at this professional examination.
For comparison sake, as Singapore is the nearest to us in terms of geography only.
1. Malaysia did not use money as an instrument of foreign policy to kill or maim or injure innocent men, women and children of friendly countries. Her Prime Ministers hands are free of blood. Vide. ASEAN Regional news.
2. Malaysia did not lose US$ 108 Billions of her Rakyat’s hard-earned and real money in October 2008 in a jiffy by investing in inferior institutions on Wall Street. Vide. Channelnewsasia. Lee Kuan Yew. November 2008. All Singaporean Blogs 2009-2012. Financial Times London. Gillian Tett ‘Singapore Harvard Model’ April 2010. The Star ‘Seah Chiang Nee’ 25 August 2012 Page 30.
3. Malaysia safeguarded her sovereignty, national interest and self-esteem during your 22 year Administration.
4. Malaysia never adopted the 2 child family policy in contravention of Clause 16 of the United Nations Universal Charter of Human Rights. Singapore is now forced to import billionaires and manual workers from China and India to fill the void.
5. Malaysia has always practised humanity and multiculturalism since the Royal Sultans of yore and present and under successive BN Governments for centuries. Vide. Channelnewsasia. The Curry Smell Tribunal.
6. Malaysia’s Prime Ministers did not line their pockets either legally or illegally. Vide. Channelnewsasia and all Singaporean Blogs. 2011-2012.
7. Malaysia does not have a perfunctory judiciary system. Vide. Admiral Canaris. Hitler’s judiciary demeaned him by stripping him naked and hung him naked with piano wires.
8. Malaysia does not have a world class lifestyle and wealth of the ruling elite. Vide. (i) The sale of Kim Eng Securities to Maybank.
(ii) The importation of 5,000 pigs daily
(iii) Services contracts of flower nurseries, etc.
9. The only natural resource which Malaysia does not have is ‘Bluffology’.
The above facts are the reason why I always exhort my fellow Malaysians especially the Malaysian Chinese to vote BN. Sometimes, real facts are hard to swallow.
There’s many a slip ‘twixt cup and lip !
I see your points on:
– Improving Malay’s welfare so there will not be a repeat of what happened to you on your taxi journey to Singapore.
– Your passion and intent to bring good to Malaysia as a whole.
I’m a young generation of Malaysian Chinese myself and totally agree on those points. Implementing the affirmative actions are necessary in order to bring more opportunities to Malays. There is no doubt certain groups have benefited from this.
However, at the same time, these affimative actions have also generated unwanted “side effects”. It is natural human instinct that when opportunity is easily given, they will not work for it and this creates a generation of carefree people. What is the solution to this I don’t know and that’s up to the Government to decide.
I hope that at the end of the day, all races will work together and this is how Malaysia of today was built upon. The sad thing I see now is that we have the rise of more extremists who hate other races and this is not helping the country for sure. People are voting with their feet, causing tremendous brain drain, including Malays. You mentioned Vision 2020, but we need these brains to achieve a knowledge economy. But this is not happening…
Salam Tun,
And of course, there are rumours begin spread of Dr Mahathir accumulating wealth for himself and children. The fact that i was asked about it, shows the false news is already unbelievable.
My reaction was to LOL (Laugh Out Loud ) it out, and explain to the poor gullible acquaintance that such rumour do not deserve any respect. It is rather silly, plus it goes to show the one spreading it is so much interested in wealth and who has it. This person is likely to only want a rich son or daughter in law.
So much for rumours.
Thank You Tun

You are intelligent, hard working, disciplined, virtuous, kind hearted, caring, loyal to friends and patriotic to your country. You have immense wisdom and courage. Datuk Seri Najib should appoint you Chairman of Barisan Nasional and Director of Operation, for PRU 13.
Only YOU have what it takes to beat the evil crafty Machiavellian Opposition. Please come out of retirement to handle this last job, because the Opposition has too many high calibre penjahat2, they have the Americans behind them, Yahudi, Chauvenist, Ayatullah, the moon , the rocket and 5 states.

Assalamualaikum Tun,
Thank you for the insight on being the Prime Minister. In my opinion, not anyone can excel at becoming the Prime Minister. True, with power, one can realise whatever one wishes. But look what happened to the country when Pak Lah was Prime Minister. Look at what might happened if Anwar becomes Prime Minister.
Many countries, especially Islamic and African ones, wished they had a Tun Mahathir of their own. Instead they got Suharto, Assad, Mubarak, Gaddafi, Saddam, etc.
In a way, I am like you Tun, since I also got help to further my education from the government through New Economic Policy (NEP) and received a Mara scholarship. I don’t think I would have gotten it if it was base on merit as there are many more people more smarter than me.
It is for this reason, I feel I have a responsibility to help my race now that I am quite successful in my field. I am not like some Malays that once they become successful bankers, lawyers, corporate leaders and politicians, now they say its time for meritocracy, even though if meritocracy will lead to one race taking all the wealth and positions. Look at the Chinese, even if they are successful, they continue to help their race.
It is because of this responsibility, the feeling of indebted to my race, that I continue to write in your blog. It is my small way of helping my race and my countries thought sharing of my ideas and thoughts.
I have tried to become an UMNO member again, I think it was the 4th or 5th time, I lost count already but I am still not an UMNO member. It is very hard to become an UMNO member even though you are a Malay. I guess UMNO have already enough contractors, rent seekers, opportunists such that they don’t need any more Malays to be members. Najib is alright, but it is the members attitude that needs to be looked into. They have not changed.
There will come a day, when chedet blog will no longer be online. When that day comes, I guess I will keep quite.
Selamat Hari Raya Tun.
Memang stress kalau hidup asyik kerja keras, disiplin macam Tun.
Wallahua’lam.
Salam Ayahanda Tun Dr Mahathir
Allahu Akbar! ………….. takbir taqwa dari kami, bukan dari mereka tu.
Assalamualaikum TUN.
Truly TUN DR MAHATHIR trademark.
Not many layman understand Tun’s way of doing things.
But many are simply jealous of Tun’s handling of simple things as well as complicated and sophisticated issues.
But at the same time many admire Tun’s method. Some leaders even wish they had done it the way Tun did it.
Selamat Hari Raya Tun And Tun Dr Siti Hasmah.

Tun
Thank you very much for your open house invitation. We arrived at 12.15 pm. We regretted not being able to wish you Tun and Tun Dr. Siti Asmah “Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin” in person. The queue was about 350 people long. We were advised by the security personnel, we would not be in time to meet Tun before the announced 1.00 pm recess time.
On this topic of being an intellectual, I think not just in Malaysia that you are considered as an intellectual. I have found this to also be true all over the world, particularly in the Islamic countries. Many people that I have met, regarded (and respected) Tun as a true intellectual.
If I may say so, where Tun was, and is (and I am certain will be in the future too) OUTSTANDING in both thoughts and actions, is in having very clear goals i.e. to membangun bangsa dan negara.
When goals are clear and one is totally committed to achieving these goals, brilliant strategies could and would be easier to develop. Tun then followed these strategies with actions, judiciously using the authority of the position of the premiership.
When we view these issues in the widest perspective, we can only arrive at one conclusion — that Tun is a true intellectual, meaning someone who understands.
Thank you and Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin.
I totally agree that there is no complexity and mystery in human thought process. That is why I am quite surprise when I see many malaysians (I hope it is not the majority) are not able to think over simple matters and issues (I am not talking about politics only, but a lot of other daily life issues). These people are educated and with education you should be able to think about things reasonably well. It is a waste that education does not help them to think. I am asking myself what has gone wrong inside of their brain, or what makes them failed to think.
The conclusion that I can make about it myself is that they don’t take time in doing their thinking. They are simple minded people or they are just followers? or they are holding values that make them stuck in their way of thinking?
You are an example of a person who spend a good amount of time in the thinking department, and as a result Malaysia has grown very well as a nation.
Thank you Tun.

Nice facts of the Malay, the Muslims
They are agressive like others races craving for wealth when young and strong
When they reached 40’s n above they tends to swayed away from wealth, they tends to go to Islam
Accepting halal n haram
Frequent visits to the Mosque
Nearer to Allah
These muslims they are no more blinded by wealth,by Dollars
They are actually very rich indeed
Those Rich people who still graves for more wealth, more dollars
Is yet indeed still poor as they are craving for more
Peace Tun,
1. Academic achievements are never a good measure of ones intellect, much less ones compassion. It is merely a guiding score.
2. The passion and determination you had to improve the social status of Malays, as well as for the Nation overall, is shared by many, but you had the authority.
3. I think now is the time to pass the baton. We are one race, the human race, and for as long as Malaysians prefer to ignore it, we will not advance in a harmonious manner.
4. In fact, the material advancement will bring with it plenty of hatred, jealousy, arrogance. That surely is not what is meant by advanced, neither is having LRT advanced. When we fully accept each other as Malaysians, we can then hope to advance.
Thank You Tun

Dear Dr Mahathir,
You are nice when you want to be nice. I personally think that you are a very intelligent man and you have stood up to your beliefs. Your behaviour towards Singapore is natural as you cared more for your countrymen.
I cannot say the same of some of our ministers here. They want a good record to show off to the world with you included.
Please be kind to us and sell us water and sand.
May you have a long and happy life.
