VICTORY IN SARAWAK 2

1. Every time I mention DAP’s racism, the hackneyed rebuttal is that UMNO is a racial party, more than DAP.

2. UMNO, MCA and MIC are racial parties but they contest elections not under their own party names but as the Alliance or BN coalition. As a member of a multi-racial coalition they cannot promote only Malay, Chinese or Indian interests. They have coalesced into one political entity and their struggle is for all the races in that entity. The race based parties working together in the interest of members of all races lose their racial character.

3. The DAP, like the PAP, claims to be multi-racial but everyone knows the overwhelming majority of their members, supporters and their leaders are Chinese. And their struggle is principally against anything Malay and for what they claim to be Chinese rights. Their disguise that they are for Malaysians is exactly that – it is a disguise. No one is taken in by their claim to be multiracial.

4. The slogan Malaysian Malaysia clearly reflects that in their minds Malaysia is presently not for all races, that it is for Malays only. That the Alliance and the BN have representation from all races is ignored. That the parties share power in the Government is also ignored. That for 50 years the coalition has brought prosperity to all races, with the Chinese getting the biggest share because of their skills and ability is deliberately disregarded.

5. Before independence, the races were deeply divided. They were antagonistic towards each other. Because of this they formed race-based parties. Multi-racial parties just could not get the support of all races. Invariably they would be dominated and supported by one race or another. In elections they all lost.

6. But Tunku Abdul Rahman, the President of UMNO, together with Tan Siew Sin and V. T. Sambanthan decided that the races could cooperate more effectively if they form a coalition of racial parties. In a coalition the identities of the races would be retained and they can ensure that their interest and concerns would be heard and given serious consideration by the other racial parties. They felt more secure even if they made up a minority. In fact they were given equal representation in the High Council of the Coalition.

7. Assured that none would be side-lined, the race-based parties were willing to work together. There can be no doubt that this formula has resulted in Malaysia avoiding the kind of racial violence that are seen in other multi-racial or multi-religious countries. With the ensuing stability, Malaysia was able to develop and prosper. Can anyone deny that?

8. Only the blind and the bigoted would fail to see the success of the coalition of racial parties and the power-sharing Governments that they form in Malaysia. In fact the opposition parties have realised this and are trying to form a coalition. But so far they can only co-operate during elections. They now don’t contest against each other. But each party is still racist, concerned only with its own race once the election is over.

9. Maybe one day everyone will forget their racial origins and regard themselves only as Malaysians. But that day has not arrived yet. Until then only the BN coalition can represent all the races in Malaysia.

  2. Hi milshah.
So lets get the facts straight. Not once did you directly dispute what I wrote! That is “You can tell by the number of indians and chinese working in the civil service for one, the armed forces and police as another, not to mention the miniscule number of government contracts granted to non-malays”. So you know what I wrote was true. But of course you have attributed your reasons for them eg initial low salaries of civil servants, the chinese not interested in applying, the contracts got recycled into chinese hands (so you acknowledge most went to malays initially!) etc. We can argue till the cows come back about the reasons but some I can counter by saying for eg would I for one even want to work in an enviroment where all the workers are malays as in the current civil service? Of course NO!
    1) I would be discriminated against all the time in performance assessments and in promotions, the same compliant that malays have about working for a chinese company in the private sector.
    2) Would I want to work in an enviroment where every other moment or place, religion is at the centre point of all discussions, esp the reference that Islam is superior to other religions and all others are fake and have no standing and where people won’t even share utensils, even after it has been washed because of a paranoia that it is still contaminated!
    3) Poor work ethics. For 10 years before I went to work overseas, I was an engineer in Malaysia, and when I needed to renew my licences, there was always the same indian guy, among a sea of malay guys and ladies, handling my queries. Whenever he wasn’t around and I needed an answer, the answer was always the same ie “James tak ada in hari ini, you datang esok”. For 10 years not a single one bothered to learn more than their immediate work as did James. That attitude is still there today. This is because you are giving jobs to people who weren’t even motivated to study when they were at school, let alone when they started working. Only reason that they are there is because people like Mahathir decided that to uplift his race he needed more malays working. I agree it was an excellant initial idea but what did they do..they started playing games like being totally religious, which is another way of lazing around, or getting others to cover for them by not being around, accepting bribes etc! Where was the discipline? Where was the integrity? Aren’t those also religious values that are not being adhered to! So they pick and choose which religious ethics they want to follow!
    4) Corrupt officials. Do you know why many roads in Malaysia are now not level at all but are starting to look like the waves in the sea. Have you asked yourself why? It is because instead of using sand in their foundation they been using guarry dust! That in time gets washed away. How did the contractors get away with it? It was because the contracts were negotiated with the civil servants to reduce the specs so that there was money left over for their bribes! The contract for army shoes I believe doesn’t even have battle standard specs because the specs were lowered to leave enough money to pay the bribes. These are examples of stories I have heard from my chinese friends over the years. Of course I have no way of knowing if they are true.
    5) No leadership. Badawi, just before he retired said he needed 6 months or to finish the things he promised he would do before he left office. Among them, I believe, was the body snatching of dead hindus by islamic religious authorities (who claimed they had converted earlier). What was the outcome? Silence, and I suspect I know why. It is because the religious zealots have taken over large chunks of the civil service and they said non way we are allowing you the PM to change anything! That’s why now the muslim lawyers association can even get to the point of telling the parliment that you are below them because you are ignorant of islamic knowledge, so you shouldn’t be debating this or that. Well that’s fine but then keep religion in the home and not brag that islam is about politics, economics etc and then say sorry you can’t debate this or that because then you are challenging god himself! Yah my foot, the only god here is the individuals in the religious associations! Then what next? They will be saying the non-elected ulama should be ruling Malaysia? Sorry I am digressing here a bit. I am just sick of religious bigots.
You see the problem with the Malays has been the same as what I observed when I was in school. They cannot decide what they want. To be a moderate or an extremist. One moment they are in the discotheque chasing skirts next moment they are upset seeing a malay girl wearing jeans because it empathises her split! That’s the dilemma of all muslims. Islam is not an easy religion to follow. It is very complicated. What holds depends on whom you ask! So they end up doing what every one else does ie doing an eye for an eye. What they don’t realise is that you as a muslim, who say’s that your religion is the true and the perfect one, cannot do that! Then you are no different from the very people you are condemning. For example, you cannot kill an innocent american bystander because you feel americans are guilty of voting in a government that attacks and kills innocent people in other countries. That’s an eye for an eye. You as a muslim are not supposed to do that! Two wrongs don’t make a right! How can you? You are the perfect one, right! So you are making a mockery of your own religion!
Please think about what I wrote. I tell it as i see it. Not just to keep debating to win an argument. I have seen many people lose money in the stock market precisely due that kind of thinking, that is trying to fit the world into their thinking. Reality comes first! Learn that or lose all. Thanks.

  3. Assalamualaikum Tun,
Allow me to answer Worried, thanks. Hi worried, there two ways to look at how well MCA and Gerakan had contributed to the chinese community. On one hand, they have not done nothing for the past 50 years that significantly help the chinese. That they have set up help centres to help the chinese, protected the chinese schools and created Utar are of small signifacants i guess. They might as well close shop if the chinese feel they don’t need these small contributions.
Another way, is that MCA and Gerakan had done a good job taking care of the chinese needs that some chinese feel they don’t need MCA and Gerakan anymore. Indeed, our history have never had a time when the chinese had no representation in the goverment. The next GE will be the first and and we will see what happens to the chinese if they have no representation.
With regard to working in the goverment be it in the military and the civil it is not MCA or Gerakan fault there are a lack of chinese. There has never been any restriction for the chinese to work in the goverment. It was not like in private sector where some companies require able to speak mandirin if they want to work.Previously, goverment pay was low and minimal benefits. Because of the low pay, the chinese were no interested to work as government servants. Thus, most of the goverment jobs are taken by the malays. It is only recently the goverment have revamped the salary of goverment servants. Suddenly being a government servant becomes attractive to the chinese due to higher pay. If they wish, they can enter the government but they have to start from the bottom. They can’t expect to just come in and become diplomats or generals just because the pay is higher than before.
With regard to goverment contracts, it was found that the bumiputras are unable to do the high value contracts and was subcontrated to the non malays. It was the chinese that benefited the most from the goverment contracts as explained by Tun in one of his articles here. With regard to MCA and Gerakan following what UMNO dictates is not true as explained by Tun in this article. BN makes decision base on mutual understanding amoung its many race bases party members. Even the most minority of races had a place in the BN council. This is to ensure no race is left behind and each race problems are addressed. If it is true that UMNO can do as it pleases and other party races just follow, then i think there would not be any race based schools or the NEP should give 60% instead of just 30% of the nations wealth to the malays as the malays comprise of 60% of the population. But none of these happened because of understanding that each race can never have 100% of thier demands be met. Each race must sacrifice as we live in a multiracial society. The only way for one race to have all thier demands met is if the population is 100% that particular race. Though I don’t see that happening in 1 or 2 years time or in this lifetime. It is a give and take approach. Not take take take approach.
Sometimes we just look at what we don’t have instead of looking at what we already have. It is this attitude that give rise to racial disharmony among the many races in Malaysia.
If MCA and Gerakan are not doing a good job, then i guess DAP will do better? DAP approach is for one race only. The chinese is only 20% of the population. I doubt DAP will be able to implement it’s policies without recieving backlashs from the other races. I do hope the chinese know what they are doing should they vote for DAP in GE 13.
    Tq.

  4. Hi milshah, thanks for a non abusive rebuttal. I note your views. But I disagree that MCA and Gerakan have done a lot for the chinese just as MIC has not done much for the indians. Of course they did things but the question is one of relativity or proportion. They did a lot more for the rich chinese and rich indians esp the billionaires than the average man. You can tell by the number of indians and chinese working in the civil service for one, the armed forces and police as another, not to mention the miniscule number of government contracts granted to non-malays. They have been just going along with the flow dictated by UMNO, and that has been so obvious to every one even to most malays. It is this relationship that is now going to cause them to perform dismally in the next election, no matter what they do.

  5. Assalamualaikum Tun,
Allow me to comment on “worried”. First of all thank you for reading my post. However, i do wish you read again my posting as I think you have clearly misintreprate my posting. I did not deny the contribution of the chinese. Its good they contributed in the tin industry in past years. What i meant was the chinese are making so many kind of demands, and i think the government has done a lot to help the chinese via MCA and Gerakan. However, even with those help by the government, the chinese still vote for DAP. When i say about take take take i was refering to the one way relationship of the relationship ie MCA and Gerakan help the chinese but the chinese vote for DAP. In my opinion, it should be a two way relationship, as we should vote for the one who help us. I admit the goverment through UMNO is also helping the malays. The malays return this kindness by voting for the goverment as can be seen in the increase for Malay voted for BN in recent by elections. My question is why are the chinese not voting for BN even when MCA and Gerakan had helped the chinese all this while? Should MCA and Gerakan continue to help the chinese knowing that the chinese would continue to support DAP?
    Tq

  6. I want to comment on what “milshah” wrote, which is a very Malay point of view:
“some chinese demanding this and that i.e just take, take, take”
I am a non chinese and I agree at first glance it seems like that because many chinese don’t mix or even bother to learn the language of the country they live in, that’s why they have chinatowns every where in the world eg San Francisco, Melbourne etc. They have too high a regard for their culture, which borders almost to the point of arrogance. But ask yourself this..
    1) Aren’t the Malays and Indians also not guilty of this these days? Nobody mixes with other races any more.
    2) The reason the chinese got rich, and I believe they are falling behind precisely because they think they are still the best when they are not anymore, is because they were starting businesses when every one else was afraid of losing their investments! Every one else either spent all their money or kept it under their pillow! It is not a case of take, take, take! The tin was in the ground for you, me and others to take but who went for it? The building of a town called Kuala lumpur could have been started by you or me but who started it, a city like Singapore could have been started by you or me but who started it? Who was it that gave Singapore island for FREE to the chinese in Singapore? Even the red indians sold Manhattan island to the whites for a set of beads, which is quoted in finance books as the highest ROI return in the history of mankind. But the Malay politians gave it away for free! So is it the fault of the chinese that the malay politians gave everything away for free? A crook is a crook but if you leave the door open to your vault who do you blame?? The crook or you?
So that was the past, what do you do now? You educate your children (not agama day and night!), teach them business esp how to be creative in ideas, go to the world and market your products, learn the language everyone else is using ie English and compete with the world and then increase your market share, just like what Tony Fernendes has done with AirAsia and stop thinking like MAS where you only want government handouts ALL the time!! Stop mixing only with the Malays all the time, mix more with the whites, the Indians, Japanese etc and learn from them, so for god sake GET SMART or loose it all AGAIN.

  7. Have you watched Star Wars? Insecurity and fears are forces of the Dark. Once you step into its path, it will lead you to anger and hatred, then eternal burning destruction of hell.

  9. I wish to talk about another topic. It is a more current one. I notice more and more Hishamuddin is making comments that are starting to show more and more his lack of maturity, infact his almost childish mat rempit like behaviour. When a blogger reveals something, most often a blatant lie, he jumps on the band wagon and starts his usual retoric about how all parties will be arrested and warns all parties to cool it and how he understands if dangerous things were to happen in malaysia etc. But can he explain what dangerous things he is talking about and whether he comdemns those who are PLANNING to start those dangerous things, which I believe is violence in the streets? I expect he is looking for a reason to arrest everyone (for political reasons), but not those that are actually planning to start the violence! I am still wondering why the hundreds of NGOs that are being setup, that we all know is precisely for starting violence when the time is right, is not being dimantled by the state? We have all seen them assemblying in front of the courts just before the judge delivers his judgement so as to remind him what will happen if the judgements are not in their favour. This are beyond pressure groups, they are always threatening the use of violence! In that sense we are going down the path of African nations, such as Rawanda before the genocide started. It is obvious that people like him want the violence to start (infact the question that needs to be asked is whether he is directly or even indirectly supporting those movements) so that he can exploit it to his benefit and he is showing he couldn’t care less if it destroys the country we all love so much. I like to remind him the world is watching his statements which if those viloent things happen, he among others will be regarded as the main instigator of those things! Just ask Milosevic. That’s why we have the ICJ now, precisely for people like him!

  10. Salam Tun.
Kalau dah bersifat perkauman tu akui sajalah, jangan nak memutarbelit fakta, DAP oii!
Nanti jadi terkilan, terkilan!
Sarawak oh Sarawak, you were most splendid to show to other Malaysians how voting should be done. We’ll follow your good example of differentiating Bumis and non-Bumis in all future elections. Thank you to all Sarawakians.

  11. If race is not a problem, then do not ask for race in any official application form. In other countries, there is no race, no age, no religion because they look for real workers base on their actual qualification rather than because of manipulative reasons. Once there was a call for a strong opposition. The call is given because somehow or rather, the opposition would make the ruling party get back to its’ real direction instead of going everywhere else and not where they are supposed to be heading.

  12. Everybody, especially racists and bigots, check out this good read from the World Bank 2011 Essay Competition finalist – Shaun Tan
    from Malaysia on brain drain.
    The Migrant’s Eye
    By Shaun Tan
‘Our young people represent the future of our country’. This phrase has been echoed by almost every politician in almost every
country in modern history. However the changes instigated by the increasing ease of migration are such that not even this
time-honored cliché holds the weight it once did. Young people still represent the future, but it is the future of whichever
country they decide to settle in or impact, which may or may not be their country of origin. As with most changes, there are new
benefits and drawbacks, and new winners and losers. Among the most pressing questions countries now face are how to prevent their
young people from migrating, and how far they should go in providing for the migrants residing within their borders.
    Exodus
Smart Indians go to med school,
Smart Chinese go to investment banks,
    Smart Malaysians go to Singapore.
    – Anonymous
My first brush with migration was in 2002. My father came home one day in a state of great excitement. My father is an excitable
guy. He is also an alumnus of a university in New Zealand, and he had just learned that, because of this, our family was entitled
to permanent residency (PR) status in New Zealand upon fulfillment of a few (relatively minor requirements). One of the
requirements was that we reside in New Zealand for at least three months over the next two years. We discussed it and decided it
might be fun. We packed for summer.
Within a few weeks I was bored. New Zealand was charming enough in its own way, but it didn’t have the vibrancy of my home city of
Kuala Lumpur, and I couldn’t imagine us choosing to live in this land of sheep and five o’clock closing times instead. And yet I
understood why my father pushed for PR status so eagerly. He remembered the Indonesian racial riots of 1998, and he kept the pulse
of rising extremism in Malaysia. If violence ever broke out in Malaysia my family would have a back door, a way out.
Later on I saw that most of my Malaysian friends who could afford it went abroad for at least part of their education. Some went to
boarding schools in Singapore, Australia, and the UK. When it came to university, almost all my Malaysian friends went to
Australia, the UK, or the US. The reasons they (and their parents) gave for wanting a foreign education were the same: the racial
quotas in Malaysian universities, the skewed syllabi, the controls on free expression, the low standard of the Malaysian education
system (apart from a few private university colleges), and the relative quality and prestige of foreign schools and universities.
At university this trend continues. Many of my Malaysian friends plan to remain overseas after graduation, or to work in Singapore.
‘Everything in Malaysia is on such a small scale,’ one of them said, ‘it can’t compare with the training you get overseas’. Some of
them hope to return to Malaysia later, but only in the distant future, after earning enough money and establishing themselves in
their industries. I know the power of inertia, and every year that goes by makes it less and less likely that they will return.
Asian societies have very tight family bonds. Most of my friends have parents who miss them very much, and who dislike them living
far away. However, far from meeting with parental opposition, these plans have full approval: the message my Malaysian friends get
from their parents and relatives is, ‘Don’t come home’.
    No Brain, No Gain
Malaysia faces a brain drain crisis. Recent decades have seen the migration of many ethnic Chinese (comprising 26% of Malaysia’s
population) [1] and Indians (8%) [2], as well as considerable numbers of Malays, the majority ethnic group (53%) [3]. Shamsuddin
Bardan, executive director of the Malaysian Employers Federation, reported that there are 785,000 Malaysians working overseas.[4]
Unofficially, the figure is thought to be over a million.[5] According to the World Bank the number of Malaysian emigrants has
increased almost a hundred-fold in the past fifty years, from 9,576 in 1960, to almost 1.5 million in 2005. [6] A parliamentary
report revealed that 140,000 Malaysians emigrated in 2007.[7] According to Deputy Foreign Minister Kohilan Pillay, the figure
between 2008 and 2009 was 304,000.8 As of 2007, 106,000 Malaysians had renounced their citizenship.[9]
Many of these Malaysians go to Australia, the UK, and the US.[10] About half of them go to Singapore,[11] which has a GDP per
capita almost four times larger than Malaysia’s [12]. The portion of the Malaysians who return is minimal (Prime Minister Najib
Razak reported the figure to be less than 1%) [13] prompting former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to suggest that other countries
should pay Malaysia for having seduced them to stay ‘since by right, the graduates’ training and knowledge should be called
intellectual property. [14]. Prominent writer Mariam Mokhtar outlines the reasons given by emigrants: ‘improved employment and
business prospects, higher salaries, better working environments, greater chances of promotion and a relatively superior quality of
    life.[15].
This has severely retarded Malaysia’s development. Malaysia continues to be the poor cousin of the Asian Tigers – Hong Kong,
Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Malaysia’s growth rate dropped from 9% a year, from 1991 to 1997, to 5.5% a year, from 2000 to
2008.[16] Stewart Forbes, the executive director of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, explained that
many of Malaysia’s lost investment opportunities stem from the brain drain – because international companies had trouble finding
skilled employees in Malaysia.[17] ‘People have left, growth prospects have dimmed, and then more people continue to leave,[18]
said Danny Quah, an economics professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Council Member on Malaysia’s
National Economic Advisory Council, ‘It’s a vicious cycle that the economy has had to confront for the last decade or longer.[19].
The increasing ease of migration has produced new winners – countries like Singapore, Australia, the UK, and the US, who get to
cherry-pick from a global talent pool. It has also produced new losers. Malaysia is certainly one of them.
    ***
    The Malaysian Dilemma
As there are new winners and losers from migration, so too are there new benefits and drawbacks. A classroom discussion threw this
    debate into stark relief.
It was last year. The date was the 27th of September, the country was America, and I was in my International Relations class. We
were discussing globalization, and having gone through some of its benefits, we moved on to its drawbacks.
‘Well,’ said one of my classmates, ‘one drawback is that it increases the brain drain effect and leads to greater inequality
between countries. Developing countries lose a lot of the talent that they badly need.’. This received a general nodding of assent.
I raised my hand. ‘Actually,’ I asked, ‘is greater inequality necessarily a bad thing?’.
My class, accustomed by now to my mannerisms, still looked at me strangely.‘I mean, it’s true that many developing countries end up
losing their talent, but really, some of these countries bloody well deserve to lose them.’.
This created a small firestorm. From my classmates’ reactions you’d have thought I’d asked what was wrong with genocide. There were
gasps. Before I could finish, a forest of hands shot up to respond. One of my classmates burst out angrily; ‘Now you’re just being
    facetious!’.
My professor moved to restore order. He was a kindly old man who usually let our discussions run their course. He did however step
in whenever our discussions threatened to turn into a pseudo-intellectual brawl.
He turned to me. ‘I assume you said that to be deliberately provocative’ he said gently; a teacher reasoning with a difficult
    student.
‘No,’ I said, ‘not at all.’.
I looked at the rest of my class who now whispered amongst themselves and eyed me warily, apparently taken aback to see their (I
hope) usually charming and amiable classmate say such callous things.
But to me my statement seemed as normal as breathing. And said to any reasonably informed Malaysians, it wouldn’t even have raised
an eyebrow. I realized then that there were perspectives on this issue that are unique to Malaysians, and to those who have
    experienced similar circumstances.
    Push and Pull
I’ve left a few unanswered questions over the course of this essay. Like why do loving parents tell their children not to come
home? And why do many Malaysians think Malaysia deserves to lose its talented young people? Now at last is the time to answer them.
Malaysia has a lot going for it. It has much untapped potential. It is devoid of natural disasters and rich in natural resources.
It is a country with warm weather, amazing food, and hot women. Its people are generally warm, friendly, and (with certain
exceptions like yours truly) humble. Pull-factors like these would require considerable push-factors to trigger mass emigration.
But there’s a darker side. A side behind the strained tranquility and Malaysia Truly Asia adverts. Since its independence in 1957,
Malaysia has been run by the Barisan National (BN) party, and its regime is an autocracy that institutionalizes racism. Non-Malays,
including the ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities, are discriminated against in favor of the majority Malays, whose support BN
depends on. Malaysian laws make non-Malays pay higher prices for certain goods and services, allocate them only a small percentage
of places in public universities, and impose significant barriers against their advancement in the military, police force, civil
service, and in government-owned companies. The BN government persecutes minority religions, and major Malay politicians often
refer to Chinese and Indian Malaysians as pendatang (immigrants), of inferior status, while the current Prime Minister Najib Razak
is alleged to have threatened to ‘bathe a keris dagger with Chinese blood’.
The BN government is also very protectionist, making it even more difficult for international companies to set up business there,
for example, international law firms can only operate in Malaysia by acting in partnership with a local firm. Furthermore, the BN
government is both grossly incompetent and highly corrupt. Billions of dollars in public funds are squandered on cronyism [20] and
ill-conceived mega-projects [21], instead of being properly used to develop the country. The judiciary is largely comprised of
underqualified yes-men, the police force is unreliable, and the public schools and universities are of low standard, such that even
Malaysia’s top university, University Malaya, has dropped out of the top 200 universities in the world on all major rankings.[22]
This is why loving parents tell their children not to come home. They don’t want their children to live as second-class citizens in
Malaysia, where their ambitions will be limited by institutional inefficiency, where they will be passed over for promotion in
favor of others, not for any lack of skill, but for the color of their skin. ‘Money does have a significant role but the most
important factor…is opportunity,’ outlined Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Founding Chief Executive Member of the Institute for Democracy and
Economic Affairs, ‘Malaysia is too politicized and opportunities are not evenly available to everyone,[23].
This is why Malaysians flock to Singapore, not because Singapore’s government is less despotic (it is even more so), but because
the Singaporean government at least prizes efficiency, and recognizes merit regardless of race. When a Malaysian renounces his
citizenship, he doesn’t see it as an unpatriotic betrayal, he sees it as washing his hands off a regime that has marginalized and
persecuted him. As one Malaysian, Wan Jon Yew, explained: ‘I’m not proud of being a Malaysian because I think the government
doesn’t treat me as a Malaysian. [24]. Migration is beneficial because it increases efficiency; it allows young Malaysians to move
to take their best offers, to move to where their ability is truly valued. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and migration helps
    to reduce this wastage.
Not all Malaysians mass-emigrating are Chinese and Indians. Many Malays are emigrating too. Although they do not face racial
persecution, many of their reasons for doing so are the same as those of non-Malays: the corrupt and inefficient system, the lack
of security and religious freedom, the quashing of free expression, human rights abuses. Furthermore, Malays face a different form
of religious persecution – forced piety by the overzealous Islamic moral police. Non-Muslim Malays and Malay homosexuals are jailed
or sent to ‘reeducation centers [25], and earlier this year 80 Malays were arrested for celebrating Valentine’s Day [26]. In light
of this, Malaysia deserves to lose the talents of its young people. It doesn’t appreciate these talents; it punishes its best
citizens – those brave enough to stand up for themselves, or those too principled to fake devotion to a religion they don’t believe
in – and instead it rewards its worst elements – the religious extremist, the racist, the sniveling sycophant. In a sense, we as
Malaysian citizens deserve to lose the benefits those talents would have brought, because through our participation or collective
inaction we allow this wretched state of affairs to continue. Migration is beneficial because it allows Malaysians to leave, and to
live in a country that accords them the dignity commensurate with their status as a human being.
    The Open Door
The ability to migrate presents young Malaysians with an open door to the rest of the world. This is not without its drawbacks.
Many of the Malaysian émigrés leave not because they are weak or cowardly, but because they are ambitious, or because they are
uncompromising – they refused to take orders from those who are their inferiors, or to remain party to a system that is morally
indefensible. One cannot help but imagine how much good such spirit could have done if they had no choice but to remain in
Malaysia. Not necessarily by engaging in overtly political activities, but by simple apolitical acts – by living their lives in
their own way, free from compromise, and refusing to curb their ambitions. As Vaclav Havel explained in his book The Power of the
Powerless, such simple acts are often the most potent weapons against oppressive regimes. Thus, migration has its drawbacks – it
makes it harder for Malaysia to achieve real change because it takes away some of its most spirited people.
However there are also many young Malaysians who choose to return, and who seek to bring real change to the country. People like
Nathaniel Tan – a Harvard graduate, who writes books exposing the abuses of the BN regime, even if his efforts meet with harassment
and detention. Or Alea Nasihin – a friend of mine, and a student at Nottingham University, who resolves to return to work as a
human rights lawyer. [27] Or myself. For us the open door is comforting. It gives us the courage to say or do things we might
otherwise be wary of. Because it reminds us that there are limits to what an oppressive government can do. Because we know that
even if our efforts harm our careers in Malaysia, even if the BN government hounds us and bars us from getting a job at any major
company in Malaysia, there will always be many other places eager for our talents. It allows us to take more risks and dare greater
things. The open door presented by migration therefore simultaneously hinders and helps the process of change in Malaysia.
    ***
    Point of Origin
From a Malaysian perspective, good measures for broadening opportunities for young migrants in their countries of origin are
relatively straightforward. The most obvious one is to increase meritocracy, to distinguish merit instead of race, religion,
gender, or sexual orientation. When each citizen is judged solely on the basis of his ability, when high standards are promoted,
when the most innovative people are rewarded and encouraged, the whole country progresses and develops, creating greater
    opportunities for all.
Nepotism and cronyism should be prohibited in all industries, so that positions and promotions go to the most able candidates. This
policy should be pursued in conjunction with scholarships and financial aid for poor youths to attend schools and universities,
again awarded on the basis of merit.
The other obvious measure is to liberalize. A liberal society that respects human rights provides the broadest opportunities for
free expression and the free practice of religion simply because fewer things are prohibited. Laws should be enacted against the
interference with an individual’s expression or religious practice, unless he harms or grossly misrepresents another person in
doing so. The judiciary should be allowed to become strong and independent, so that everyone has the opportunity for a fair trial.
Meanwhile, opportunities should be given to migrants who consider returning to their country of origin. Those living overseas, but
with vital skills in various fields should be invited back and offered senior positions, with PR status or citizenship offered to
    their families.
A fair, liberal government that rewards merit provides the broadest opportunities for its people. Measures like the Malaysian
government’s Returning Export and Brain Gain Malaysia programs fail to attract young people because they make only cosmetic
changes, refusing to give effect to the principles of fairness, liberalism, and meritocracy, that are the essence of true
    improvement of opportunity.
    Destination
Good measures for broadening opportunities for young migrants in their countries of destination are relatively straightforward too.
They largely consist of refraining from the policies these migrants were fleeing from in the first place. Other than some free
basic language-training programs, no special privileges should be given to these immigrants, and no affirmative action policies
should be implemented. Instead, these immigrants should be allowed to compete for (generally) the same opportunities as everyone
else, judged on the basis of their merit, rather than race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. They should be given equal
opportunity to exercise their civil rights, like the rights to free speech, association, and religious practice. Their right to
marry should be recognized regardless of sexual orientation, and the continued ban on gay marriage is an instance where the US has
    fallen short of this standard.
However governments should be conscious of where granting formal rights in fact restricts opportunities. In Beyond Liberal
Democracy, Daniel Bell contrasted Western and East Asian approaches to dealing with migrant workers. He described how migrant
workers in East Asia are denied citizenship (and thus full legal protection) no matter how long they stay, while those in Western
countries are able to obtain it much more easily. The result of this is that East Asian countries are able to officially admit many
more temporary contract workers. Comparatively, Western countries can officially admit few migrant workers, although many more work
there illegally, without any legal protections at all. ‘In the West,’ Bell explained, ‘the liberal political culture places higher
priority on the justice of legal forms…In East Asia, by contrast, the authorities prefer to enact…laws that allow for large numbers
of migrant domestic workers to engage temporarily in legally protected work in their territories.[28]. Governments therefore should
not dogmatically pursue form over substance, but should be pragmatic in their measures to achieve the best results for immigrants.
    Ich bin ein Inmigrante
‘Once I thought to write a history of the immigrants in America. Then I discovered that immigrants
    were America.’
    – Oscar Handlin
America is not without shortcomings in providing for its immigrants. True equality of opportunity can only be achieved with the
shattering of glass ceilings, and there are numerous social barriers that still need to be overcome. To this date, the highest
office in the country, that of the President of the United States, can only be held by someone born on American soil. And yet
America remains the land of opportunity for so many people. The immigrants in America are integrated far better than those in
Europe, because Americans are conscious of the fact that they were all immigrants once. And America has benefitted greatly from
this. It gets physics from Einstein, political theory from Arendt, movies from Ang Lee, eye-candy from Maggie Q, and literature
from Junot Diaz. The fact that Irish-Catholic immigrants like the Kennedys could become America’s most prominent family, that an
Austrian immigrant like Arnold Schwarzenegger could become Governor of California, and that a black man born in Hawaii and raised
in Indonesia could become President, is a testament to this tradition.
I am the product of migration. It was through migration that my ancestors from Fujian province in China came to live in Malaysia.
It is through migration that I have been able to grow up in Malaysia and study in Britain and America, and it is through migration
that I have had the privilege of learning from people from all over the world. My accent is a bastard mix of British, American, and
Malaysian. My upbringing was a schizophrenic blend of liberalism and Asian Tiger Mom style parenting. I revel in living in a
mixed-up world and having a mixed-up self.[29] I have tried to live consistently with the principles advocated in this essay. Where
in my life I have failed I have accepted it and tried to learn from my mistakes. Where I have succeeded, I have taken pride in the
knowledge of having done so myself, not needing any legal crutch to prop me up. The only right I have demanded is the right to a
fair contest. I think that the right to fair competition is the only thing we can and should expect.

  13. Salam Tun
The voters has spoken, though some says with the help of “postal voters”, which I think it is not so. The defeat was not because of the PR strenght neither the BN weakness. The Chinese SUPP defeat can be described with two big reasons:
    1. SUPP fielding ‘two old pigs’ – Chan and Yap, which the DAP slaughtered them both. The Chinese hates the tactics of ‘transformation’ agenda, they wants the ‘reformation’ blow!
    2. They Chinese wants the Taib Mahmud to step down, BUT he never listens. The Chinese scrum tight and jerk the forces too hard, and they did win the spot. If the Chinese says NO, they will gives the answer NO. Before was 8 and now becomes 15, for sure 8 Parliamentary seat for the next PRU reserved for them.
Hopefully the next PRU 13 shall NOT be held on 13 of May, it will bring bad omen to BN.

  14. Salam Tun.
Lately I am left wondering on the nationality/loyalty of some bloggers:
    1. Those that seem to know so much about Singapura politicians, that is ikan yu’s list of children in PAP bearing the post of ministers & MPs, and stoutly supportive of the list.
-Are they actually Singapuraeans pretending to be Malaysians?
I’ll be most surprised if they can remember Malaysian ministers and their corresponding portfolios, because I doubt they know.
    2. Those that became very sensitive & defensive whenever some negative remarks on Singapura are mentioned, and willing to blurt out harshly & ignite enmity with fellow Malaysians.
-Where are their undivided loyalty, if any?
They are not bothered that others may construe their foolishness as being traitors! Maybe they are traitors, stupid traitors that are so carried away by their racist attitude that they forgot to hide their intention!
When that anti-establishment, bias & gangster-like lim cheewee from BAR Council intentionally over-reacted and exposed the racism in him on purpose after the Sarawak Immigration rightfully decided to deny entry to his racist collegues, the Sarawak Govt must tell cheewee, “we’ll see you in court”!
I’ll guarantee that the ‘ikan yu’ will sure leave cheewee with just one underwear on him if cheewee misbehaved in similar manner in Singapura!
Malaysia do have millions of foul smelling & parasitic sewer rats. None of these animals can understand the Malaysian constitution, less still to pick out one particular clause that is to their disadvantage,….something about this special Bumi status.
Of course everyone hate sewer rats, no matter in what form the canine appears!
Perhaps Singapura can provide a more ambient sorrounding that allows the ‘sewer rat’ a more respectable animal status. It will then be able to enjoy the discriminatory & ruckus greed of ‘ikan yu’ in denying the descendents of Sang Nila Utama & Hang Nadim even credible scraps in the land of their ancestors!!!

  15. Salam Tun.
Once there was this self-proclaimed nun-cum-priestess who preached and preached and preached in utmost dedication. One day she realised and strongly believed in herself in a most convincing manner, “I’m a preacher, I’m Jolly the preacher”!
Jolly the preacher then decided to go further, and started to explore/question the Islamic world, which was alien to her. She started off by questioning basic Islamic beliefs hoping that:
    1. Muslims are more ignorant than her on many Islamic matters.
    2. Her plentiful preacher friends will be there to help out just in case when she’s in distress.
After experiencing numerous and severe letdowns in the most kindly worded real situations from ‘wajaperak’, ‘prof_ridcully’, Amin Tan & a few others which simultaneously & directly exposed her ignorance, she was then made to struggle in the defence of her own religous belief which she realised to have very shallow knowledge also!
Jolly the preacher was very disappointed that all her so-called fellow preachers abondoned her. Even when the ‘table was overturned’ on her, they still refused to come and rescue her!
Now everyone is calling her Jolly the preacher(?), with the obvious & unmistakable (?) tagging to show off to everyone for her vain efforts, just like the PAS tok guru(?)!
In desperation, Jolly the preacher(?) cursed openly, “There seems to be a lot of experts in Tun’s blog, ….(hic)”, while noting admirably that those Muslims knew more than her about her own religous belief!!
Jolly the preacher(?) then decided to join the crowd and quitely enrolled herself to be one of the racists fighting for a lost cause….
End of Jolly the preacher(?) PART I.
Don’t miss out on the sequel to Jolly the preacher(?) PART II, coming soon!!

  16. Dear Tun,
    Allow me to comment.
After all, wining is wining. Losing is losing. It doesn’t matter what issue we bringing prior to polling date. Either we are feeding people with sexual misconduct issue, or racial issue, its just politics .
After all this minority keeps barking towards large hill for nothing, neither to be heard nor to promise something better. They just desire the position (and they call to serve the people). Yet, by other word the position is a job hired by the people. And the judging committee is always the people, democracy. Its nothing personal. For me this process is just a job interview. But bringing up racial issue is stupid, yes u can win some places yet being elected minoritily is nothing but being hired as a janitor in a big company when all ur competitors being hired to be GM, Executives and other good posts. Phetatic isn’t it?? Metaphorically said.
Politician is no saint. Neither the representer of DAP nor UMNO. its only matters for who is relevant, smarter and better, at least to represent the people in a good hand and good resources.
DSAI uses symphaty vote all the times. Gained few followers, but never smart enough to topple the goverment. That’s the scenario.majority of Malaysian voters are smart, and being malaysian is a gift and never curse.
Again , Methaporically, take example of BPL football league, I rather support manchester united than liverpool. Few draws, few losses, but still winning the cup. Many liverpool fans hates man united as they said man united is orthodox, better for liverpool which comes in more style, skills and beauty or their games. But are they smart enough to win the cup? Some of are more pitifully preoccupied worshiping players like gerard or kuyt thus liking the team crazily. Sorry, one man show goes nowhere!!
So, in conclusion, racial issue, driven by racial party is no more relevant. Its rotten. Admit it. Same goes to Symphaty issue. So if one sex video been brought up, (sebab lu buat kerja tak pandang kiri kanan), kantoi, buat muka sedih, parade ur wife and daughter to give ridiculous cover statement. Then some people yell fitnah! fitnah! Sudah sudah la tu. U re going nowhere!!
    Terima kasih Tun

  17. Assalamualaikum Tun,
I read the star the other day and read how some chinese demanding this and that i.e just take, take, take..but when it comes to the ballot box, they vote for the opposition. Very interesting observation. Same goes to the comments here wanting Malaysia to be like this and that, and BN should follow what they say, but at the end of the day will they vote for BN? BN has done a lot for the chinese, especially our PM, but they still vote for the opposition. Does it really matter if BN fulfil or not their demands since they will vote for the opposition anyway? If they really want the government hear them, then they should make MCA and Gerakan strong. Or are they anti BN whatever BN does?
    Thank you.

  18. To Dr.M and BN supporters,
This is the latest release (28th Apr 2010) from the World Bank.
I’m telling all of ya this is a serious problem! Both the UN and World Bank have sounded the alarm! It’s either BN reforms (do away with discriminatory/racist policies) and its supporters wake up to the reality of today or more talented/smart professionals are leaving Malaysia. People, get real before it’s too late!!!
    The news :
KUALA LUMPUR, April 28. World Bank senior economist Philip Schellekens painted a gloomy picture of the Malaysian brain drain situation today saying that it not only grew rapidly but is likely to intensify, further eroding the country’s already narrow skills base.
Schellekens said that the number of skilled Malaysians living abroad has tripled in the last two decades with two out of every 10 Malaysians with tertiary education opting to leave for either OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries or Singapore.
“Brain drain from Malaysia is likely to intensify in the absence of mitigating actions”, he said at the launch of the World Bank report titled “Malaysia Economic Monitor: Brain Drain”.
The report defined brain drain as the outflow of those with tertiary-level education. The economist said Malaysian migration was increasingly becoming a skills migration with one-third of the one million-strong Malaysian diaspora now consisting of the tertiary educated.
“Expect the trend to continue”,he said.He added that the outflow of talent was not being replaced with inflows, thus damaging the quality of Malaysia’s narrow skills base, noting that 60 per cent of immigration into Malaysia had only primary education or less, even as the number of skilled expatriates declined by 25 per cent since 2004.
The report also noted that there was a geographic and ethnic component to the brain drain, with about 88 per cent of the Malaysian diaspora in Singapore being of ethnic Chinese origin.
“The numbers for US and Australia are similar”, said Schellekens.
Report figures also show that 54 per cent of the Malaysian brain drain went to Singapore while 15 per cent went to Australia, 10 per cent to the US and 5 per cent to the UK.
The top three drivers for brain drain identified by the report were career prospects, compensation and social injustice.
“(Lack of) Meritocracy and unequal access to scholarships are significant push factors and a deterrent to coming back”, said Schellekens. Non-Bumiputeras are over-represented in the brain drain.
He suggested that Malaysia implement important structural reforms in tandem with introducing targeted measures such as income tax incentives to reverse the brain drain.
“Once the highway is built, you must compete for traffic”,he said. One suggestion is to hold a competition among members of the diaspora to get ideas on what can be done to attract them home.
He added that while this report estimated the Malaysian diaspora at one million compared with about 1.4 million in a previous World Bank report, it was due to the lack of Singapore government information on the breakdown of its non-resident population.
“This is a conservative estimate and the diaspora could well be larger”,he said.

  19. To Dr. M and BN supporters,
Yet another international body has released a damning report
on Malysia, this time on the matter of education.
Snippets from the UN 2010 Millennium Development Goal (MDG)
    report released today (28th Apr 2010) :
The wide gap between Malaysian students and their counterparts in
first-tier Asian countries like Korea, Singapore and Taiwan could
threaten its ambitions to be a high income nation.
The report states that for the mathematics benchmarks in TIMSS
(Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) 2007, fewer
than 20 per cent of Malaysian students achieved the high benchmark
and about 50 per cent achieved the intermediate benchmark, compared with 70 per cent and 85-90 per cent respectively for the first-tier Asian economies
Malaysian universities also lag behind their Asian counterparts.
No Malaysian university made it to the Times Higher Education
(THE) 2010-11 ranking of top 50 Asian universities or the ranking
of top 200 global universities. In contrast, Singapore had three
universities in the THE top 200 global universities,
Hong Kong had eight, while Japan and Korea had five each.
There you go people! Numbers do not lie. We’re slowly but
    surely sinking in international rankings/competitiveness!
The perpetual racial affirmative policy and bad governance hamper
Malaysia’s ability to step up in the coming years ahead!
Folks must discard their yesteryears mindset of ethnic supremacy and embrace change lest we lapse into a has-been entity.
    regards,
    Malaysian sewerRat

  20. To Dr. M and BN supporters,
This is what the DAP (and in all the posts I’ve been
talking about) -> NEP, brain drain holding back Malaysia,
    says World Bank.
The World Bank has just released (today – 28th Apr 2010) a
damning report on the state of Malaysia’s economy; please
google the report for your own reading.
According to the world bank (and of which DAP has warned many a times) :
More than one million Malaysians live abroad, the World Bank said today, adding that policies favouring Malays are holding back the economy, causing a brain drain and limiting foreign investment.Governance issues and lack of meritocracy are “fundamental constraints” to Malaysia’s expansion because
competition is what is driving innovation.
Posters and BN supporters have a myopic view of the current and
future challenging economic and political landscape. The outmoded
affirmative racial policy is putting the brakes on the march
to a prosperous and developed nation.
I think most posters here don’t have the cerebral capacity to grasp
the pressing conundrum of Malaysia’s flagging economic
competitiveness. That you would rather stick to the old
ways (e.g. racial preference laws/rules/policies) than wanting to move ahead with modern times.
Some of you just don’t get it : Smart/talented people innovate
our economies. If more talented/smart people leave Malaysia,
then what we’re left with are very small number of professionals
and many average joes. The talent shortage is real alright as
BN has set up Talent Coporation to try to entice Malaysian
    talents abroad.
Folks should broaden their horizon on nation-building instead of
harping on threatening others with a May 13 riot or lacing almost
    every topic with racism.
So, it’s either we reform or we fall behind!!!
    regards,
    Malaysian sewerRat

  21. Dear Tun
The official percentage of Sarawak Chinese’s population is 26% but the actual percentage of Chinese still living there is much less,
maybe 18% to 20%. As I have said earlier, many are studying and working overseas. Many will never come back already as they have started their new lives in foreign land, marrying foreign spouses and settling there for good.
In major cities like Miri, Sibu and Kuching, new bumiputras are coming to live, working there and buying new houses. In many areas of Sibu, the percentage of bumiputras could be as high as 40% to 50%. In Miri, I think maybe about 35%.
Some Chinese men are marrying Dayaks or Indonesian malays. While some Chinese ladies come back from overseas with their white husbands. More and more people are of mixed parentage nowadays so
we should not harp too much on race as an issue because the world trend is towards mixed marriages. You just need to look at Taib’s family and you will understand what I mean. People just want to choose their partners which will best compliment their lives.
In the next 10 to 20 years, Sarawak Chiniese’s population could drop to 12 to 16% as we are migrating, marrying less and giving birth less.
Yes, the rich Chinese Towkays are multi-millionaires or billionaires logging the forest but what has that got to do with us ordinary Chinese? Our gaji will still be 400 ringgit, 500 ringgit 800 ringgit, 1500 rinnggit per month. You think they can just freely log the forest for a huge profit? Come on lah, something has got to give ! There will be another group of multi-millionaires or billionaires bumiputras.

  22. Hi Tun,
May I respond to the comments by Aman.Shabi. Thank you Tun.
    Hi Aman,
    > one has to earn the right to criticize before one decides to judge another.
You’re right. I suggest to Movable Type to add two counters so that any logged in member can vote in favour or against a particular message. Then readers with less time to read all the messages can determine which message is worth reading based on the counters.
BTW, my previous postings regarding the exchange rate issue is a long term suggestion. Current exchange rate is the end result of the past decade of efforts. So, if it really needs to devaluate temporarily to gain competitiveness, we do not have much choice.
To jump higher, we need to squad down a little. Perhaps.

  23. As’kum Tun yang dihormati,
1). Kita gerakan anak2, saudara2 kita utk DAFTAR UNDI dulu. Wajib kita sedarkan mereka pentingnya undi UMNO-BN..demi bangsa 1Melayu.
2). Sesiapa yang menafikan / menghalang gerakan 1Melayu..merekalah PENGKHIANAT bangsa sebenarnya.
4). Bacalah UTUSAN MALAYSIA kerana paper ini PEMBELA bangsa Melayu & sesungguhnya MENYEDARKAN & MENGINGATKAN kita akan nasib BANGSA MELAYU itu sendiri!..demi anak cucu kita.

  24. Salam YABhg. Tun,
With all due respect, I believe you have served the country well above and beyond anyone’s expectations. Alhamdulillah, we are all enjoying the outcome. Some perhaps more then others. And with your memoirs, which I have read, we all could share in the trials and tribulations of the journey you had leading the nation.
Reading the comments hurts Tun. It hurts to read how so many have decided to take it upon themselves to openly deny your goodself the respect that you have rightly earned. In light of this, while I have been a silent reader of your blog for a while now, I decided today to register and comment. My hope is that Tun, you may perhaps want to stop the blog. Or perhaps disable the comments. Not because we are not open to criticism, it is just that one has to earn the right to criticize before one decides to judge another. And this seems to be one of the sad development in our country. We have lost a sense of respect, for our leaders, our fellow citizens, and sometimes ourselves.
Perhaps, just perhaps it is time Tun. It is time for us to cherish yourself as the leader that you are, and for yourself to just watch us, as we bring the nation forward, on the very foundation you have prepared for us. Our love and respect for you, no matter what shall endure the challenges we all face.
As we all learn to live with each other in these trying times, it is my hope that our memories of your goodself shall be one filled with smiles and admiration for you YABhg. Tun. I hope to one day be able to kiss your hand YABhg. Tun and thank you in person. Meanwhile, may Allah bless you and your family. We pray for your health and continued wisdom.
    Jazakallah YABhg. Tun.
    Aman

  25. Salam all
    Statement: DAP is multi-racial.
Anyone knows the percentage of each races made up DAP?
If there were 100 people in DAP: 5 Malay, 2 Indian & 93 Chinese, are we calling it multi-racial party? Will you believe that DAP cares about Indian & Malays?? Will you believe that DAP is sincere to fight for all races???
Before anything else, can DAP allows chinese not to monopolise Malaysian economy, stops barrier to start new business for Malays and Indian? If the answer is yes, will you believe it?
    Story about chicken farms…
Conquered by chinese “taukes”. Say price set between chinese rm6 per chicken.
Malay start new business – chicken farm. After 4 mths, ready to sell chicken to market. Costs per chicken rm4.50 hoping can get profit of rm1.50.
What chinese taukes did? Secret meeting between them and bring down selling price to rm4.
Malay tauke can’t sell at profit. After few rounds, “gulung tikar lorrr”.
This is what happen in the markets.
Chinese buy Mercedes car at the price of…80% of what the malay has to pay.
In many banks, manager level and up, many chinese. Despatch boy, many malays…pity Malays.
    Many more…

  26. Assalamualaikum dear Dr. Mahathir.
How can you (particularly Dr. Mahathir and all of you) be so busy with those “Victory in Sarawak” issues while your dear brothers in Libya, Egypt, Yemen and the rest of the middle eastern Arab countries are in the turmoil of a massive massacre. Non armed protesters are simply shot to death in the streets by tanks and snipers.
Isn’t it a crime against humanity? Where is your Goldstone? The issue of murdered Muslims by Muslims is not important for you as a crime of murder. But when it is dealing with Israel trying to defend itself from those same Muslims who murder so easily their own brothers, you are screaming.
This is called hypocrisy of human rights and the anti-Semitic motivation is driving all of you against Israel and the Jews.
In Syria, the regime forces are killing children of 6 years old just on the fly.
How can you bother in that blog with such minor issues while your brothers are massacred? What a shame?

  27. Hi Tun,
I really don’t understand how come many get angry when I say “equality”.
I was just trying to highlight one of the main factors that will affect the election results:
    1. As I have mentioned before, different pupils from different types of schools, are rated differently, though their standards in a subject are the same.
    2. In view of the recent announcement by the government that all students who get straight A+ automatically get scholarships, I think the announcement is meaningless. For students who get A+ in chinese is 0.1%.
    3. I glanced through people’s resumes and CVs. Students who were in their 20s, many score A1 in all other subjects, but “C6” in moral studies. They are wonderful people.
How do we feel if we are the parents of, or, the students concerned, whose future has been ruined by such issues that they are not to be blamed for.

  28. Dearest Tun,
I am a Sarawakian from mixed parentage of Malay-Chinese from Miri .Please allow me to give some comment on the situation in Sarawak. For so long Chinese and the Bumiputras have been living in harmony and mutual respect was part of our lives .
Things will be changing now and I am sure that DAP in most of their ceramahs have condemned the top Sarawak leadership with corruption and majority of chinese is very angry and that they want the Chief Minister and Datuk Chan to step down.
My hope that this vote of no confidence although painful to swallow but it is a clear message that majority of the Chinese wants our Chief Minister Pehin seri Taip( I do respect him very much for what he has done for Miri )with our beloved Datuk Chan stepping down quickly and retire to make way to new leadership for BN in Sarawak.
I,sincerely believe that Sarawakian Chinese is the most fortunate chinese in Malaysia with minimum restriction on Bumiputras status(in reality)in their business. They florishing and taping gracefully all the fortune from Sarawak’s rich resources. Thus, they are not afraid of losing anything here if they vote for opposition .I can say that DAP & PR have only taken advantage on the sentiment to win the chinese majority state seats.
Honestly,I can assure SUPP revival is coming soon as I belief only SUPP leaders and BN as a whole has proven track records of postering mutual understanding and racial harmony( say 1 Malaysia concept have been practice in Sarawak for generations) in Sarawak. We are not used to violence and aggression in our course for which have been proven in election day.
My worry is that can the opposition make this vast state of Sarawak to be a progressive, prosperous and harmonous state in the future ?Is the opposition making much success in Penang & Selangor?

  29. Hi Tun,
May I respond to (zuhayr on April 24, 2011 4:44 PM). Thanks Tun.
    Hi Zuhayr,
Though I feel sorry for your situation, I think in my last posting (provided Tun allows to post), I have been unfair to the other party. Because, I do not know whether the agreement you signed between you and them clearly states that the money cannot be touched within certain amount of period.
On another matter, I have noticed how we have been so eager to compare among the races, in terms of the “economic share”. This kind of comparison is outdated. Nowadays people move money around. If some people store their money in Indonesia, India, HK, or Sg, and they are Malaysians, how are we going to evaluate and be fair to the others?
My suggestion is, in this globalize world, we use the following yardstick instead:
How do the Malays fare in global economy?
and not, how do the Malays fare compared to the Chinese?
If the Malay share of the global pie is 5%, and if we can manage to increase it to 10%, it is a great success. We should not care whether when compared to the other races within this country, it is 30% or 20%, no point. Because if your neighbour is richer than you within this country, you benefit too, as they will be more generous.
But if we keep using the wrong yardstick, all the people who can contribute to increase the percentage of our wealth in global terms, have fled. So, at the end of the days, we all lose out.
To give a concrete example, if each of the Malay can afford to buy 10 ipads in a year, and now they can buy 20 ipads, so what if your Indian neighbour initially can buy 20 ipads per year, but now they can afford to buy 40 ipads? What we are more interested in is, can we afford to buy foreign goods or not, in the first place. Let foreign labourers serve us. This is a global village afterall. The 1960s yardstick is obsolete already.
Let me use a more serious example to illustrate. If someone we love has an illness that can only be cured by an expert in the US. Now you imagine the consequences if we care too much about our economic share domestically. I guess we Malaysians are smart enough to “complete the essay”.
Our beloved King is a Malay. Our PM is a Malay. So, why do you all want to feel so insecure? We are afterall the King’s rakyats.

  30. Hi Tun,
I wish to express my concern for people like Zuhayr.
Why do people who stay in Malaysia have to suffer all these inconveniences, whereas people of other developed countries can have the best products and services. Is it because we are cheap?
Some of us mentioned something like: oh.. things in other countries were expensive, so the people there didn’t really get to enjoy the fruits of their labour. It’s partially true. If we want them to serve us, we have to pay extra due to our lousy exchange rate. But if they want us to serve them, they just pay a little and we will need to work like a buffalo. Modern day cheap labour.
What we need is very simple: the best (regardless of who you are, as long as you have the right skills and mindset to serve) to fill the posts that have a direct impact on our quality of life.
I have just witnessed how a passer-by nearly fell into a deep drain along a road. Why should we risk our lives, and the lives of our parents and children by turning a blind eye to the systems?

  31. never do i see malay politicians exhorting malays to study hard and work hard.
they only know how to fight for subsidies.
do they think chinese are economically prosperous because the money falls from the sky ?
no, its from the sweat and labour.

  32. YABhg Tun,
    This article really touches me……
Daily Express dated 27th April, 2011 – Death of a true Malaysia.
A true Malaysia indeed, Mr.Ong Kim Koon. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his wife and family. This is what Malaysian should be all about….

  33. Dear Sir and Cet Det bloggers,
If you have traveled within Sarawak, especially in the interior, you cant help noticing the miserable living conditions the natives had been living in. For a very long time the Orang Ulu had been exploited by the loggers, owned and operated largely by rich Chinese. Some young girls were even raped, or made to work in slavery conditions. When the Iban workers get paid, they will be gone for a few days, to gamble the money away with cock fight. The towkeys don’t mind, as long as they come to work again when the money has run out.
So many of the Ibans and Orang Ulu are so far away from education, exposure to the real world, while the rich Chinese towkeys live in mansions resembling almost like palaces in Sibu, Miri, Kuching. Hundreds of thousands of tracks of jungle lands had been given to them to log, and to grow oil palm. They are among the richest people in this part of the world. They have all the rights and freedom to everything, education, properties, everything. And yet they want more. What they have got is not enough. They must have more. They will never be satisfied.
We are not dealing with normal humans here. We are dealing with a greedy lot, those who are not thankful or grateful. They are saying, let we Chinese run this state of Sarawak, you work for us, we give you money, and go and have your cock fight. Yes DAP, congratulations. Lee Kuan Yew is very proud of you.

  34. Dear YABhg Tun.
    permit me ..
DAP is a multi racial party , hahahh Wayang Paling besar is DAP, just put some stupid kakaktua singh, a few indians and some mistaken identity Malays as puppets, you boleh kasi tipu lagi lah, brader,, jangan menipu terlalu besar lah !!
DAP never against anything Malay??? lagi mau tipu haiyya!

  35. We haven’t seen any postings here which qualify what actions/statements from DAP are deemed racists. Some people have just simply slapped racists here and there labels with no substantiation whatsoever.
These people, obviously either are at loss for words or merely aping
what BN is doing : pretending to be ignorant of Sarawak and the country’s political dynamics because BN wants to protect their own interests; BN is playing up narrow racial sentiments to keep themselves in adminstration. In essence, BN’s proven strategy of divide and rule to maintain power. It’s deplorable that BN and their supporters have tried to frighten voters with racial issues.
Can you people see through BN’s deceit? Voting for anyone than BN is
tantamount to insulting the coutry’s institutions, social contracts,
established norms, etc? May I ask what’s the point of having an
    election?
DAP’s campaigning in Sarawak and Malaysia emphasises corruption, transparency, accountability, failed economic policies, inflation, abuse of power, meritocracy, freedom of expression, fairness, etc.
What is so racists about these ideologies? Please explain!
On the other hand, BN practices racists policies, for example:
    – Indonesians of a particular faith get PRs/citizenships within a few years of residence whereas some pockets of unfortunate Malaysians are still waiting for their citizenships for decades
    – BN and their supporters always chide non-Malays as immigrants,
when in fact, everyone is an immigrant.
    – deriding non-Malays in the Interlok school textbook, which is unfit for impressionable and coming-of-age teenagers
-Exclusion of other races from some government tender and procurement means that the government does not get the best price or the best vendors. The preferential treatment and government assistance given to bumiputra contractors, suppliers,
and entrepreneurs shield them from real market forces which would have made them stronger and more competitive
-Students face race based policies after Form 5 when Malays are streamed to matriculation with a token 10% for other races while non-Malays either opt for Form 6 which is longer and harder route to university or private colleges which require considerable financial outlay. After Form 6 non-Malay good achievers
are confronted with unfriendly racial quotas at the gates of tertiary institutions. If they are accepted into public universities they are likely to be shunted into less popular courses with little commercial value such as fisheries, forestry and philosophy
The Sarawak election result shows that the Sarawak people are ready to reject BN’s brand of politics. The people of Sarawak have rejected completely elements of racial politics and instead want representatives that uphold justice, truth, fairness, etc.
The increased votes obtained by the DAP are not only from one race. In areas such as Meradong, Dudong and Kirudong, DAP’s success in getting additional votes from the Dayak community is very encouraging. In Batu Kawah, DAP’s victory would not have
happened without the votes of the Malay/ Melanau communities. Yeah, in those constituenties, the Chinese make up about less than 50% votes.
Some people must wake up to the fact to the dawn of the reality of political and economic crossroads. We must forge ahead as Malaysians and not let racism detract us from our quest for a better Malaysia!
Is that too much to ask? Say no racism! Say yes to Malaysian!
    regards,
    Malaysian sewerRat

  36. Dear Tun,
I think Penang should be returned to Kedah. Legally, Kedah has the right to take back the island, period.

  37. YABhg Tun,
…old classical racial tune….seems to be making a come back and selling well, well at least those sung by DAP….

  38. HI Jolly.
Dont worry much about SGD 1 =RM10.
Go and migrate to spore. solve your problem.
we malay dont want you. so GET LOST.
If other want to follow, you’re welcome.
if still want to stay, respect the BUMIS n the constitutions. IS THAT HARD? OUR YOU JUST WANT TO PLAY HARD?
WE BUMIPUTRA CAN BE MORE PROSPEROUS, WITHOUT YOU, THE PENDATANG.

  39. Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
if you befriend them, they will cheat you…
if you make enemy with them, they will defeat you.
    terimakasih Tun

  40. Hi Tun,
I’ve learned about the news that some people in Perak want to ban line dance due to the dance movement that resembles the cross.
I have to remind them that the cross, and the shape of cross on buildings, have shielded millions of people lying in hospitals from being bombarded during WW2. Even the enemies in war time seemed to have respect for the cross.
If even Saladin put the fallen cross upright again on the table, these people should know that the cross is for all humanity.

  41. Dear Tun,
Dont ever believe when someone proclaims to champion Meritocracy.
Meritocracy is best left to the academic thesis – the reality of Meritocracy being the ultimate panacea is far from the truch.
Right across the causeway, you have a champion of meritocracy who believes that everyone starts on an equal footing, and then himself went on to write in his Hard Truths condemning the Malays who ‘will never catch up with the others’ – an admission that his meritocracy implementation is a flawed one, yet prefering not to do anything to level the playing field.
In fact, he has cleverly stripped the Malays of their privileges enshrined in the constitution. Malay children used to get free education, guaranteed by the British, as a way to level the playing field. Not anymore.
For 50 years, there has only been ONE malay minister- again, an admission how ‘successful’ meritocracy has been at moving SIngapore Malays up the ladder since its inception in 1965.
Below are just some examples of the successes of meritocracy: Malaysians pay a few tens of riggit for their utilities bill and they already make noise -organise street protest & what not. Yet, their Singaporean counterparts pay an average of $200 Singapore Dollars – thats almost 500RM per month. Malaysians get to buy subsidised petrol, flour, sugar & other essential commodities. Yet their Singaporean counterparts enjoy no such subsidies but are instead subjected to 7% GST tax for such essential items. Singaporeans pay $300,000 – almost 700,000RM for a unit of pigeon box the size of 3 standard hotel rooms combined – yet their Malaysian counterparts can get a bungalow house with that money.
    Welcome to Meritocracy!

  42. Dear Tun,
In order to have peace and stability this country should have military rule as the best option just like in Myanmar. This is the best option to prevent rakyat continue bickering on racial line. The head of military is responsible direct to His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong. Form the Majlis Gerakan Negara headed by the Chief of Armed Forces and the council members comprise the military personnel as well as highly respected individual from the prvate sectors. These council members are given portfolio to govern the country. They will only serve for 3 years plus 2 the maximum.

  43. Salam Tun.
At last! PAS has said it, the maniac Anwar IS NOT RELEVANT!
How pitiful those hardcore “it’s not Anwar” backers will be! The tok guru(?), the PKR ‘suamiku anugerah Tuhan’ president, the Deputy losing ‘his lover’, Kapal ‘nak tenggelam’ Sink, the Kit ‘all quiet’ Siang, the “can be fooled all of the time” supporters, and last but not least the ungrateful “we don’t want them here” racists!
Come PRU13, the 10th Sarawak elections results will undoubtedly show similarity. Soi Lek has said it, “My people will not be in the government”. Please Guan Eng, take as many that you want and let us ‘Bumis only’ be the government!
    ***ps.
Tun, we have this small request; finish off that budak kurang _jar(KJ) and the Bumiputra unity will be there! PM Najib clearly understands and will concur to that.

  44. Hi Tun,
May I ask for Tun’s kind permission to write the following:
    Hi HBT,
Sorry HBT, per 4, I shall let those who are wiser to answer you.
Last night I had a dream. I dream of a big Minangkabau-style grand stadium. It was an olympic stadium. Recent landslides in Kampung B that forced residents to move out also reminds me of someone’s idea.
    Thank you, Tun.

  45. I’m a malay, the fact is that we Malay’s can’t be united as thats the atitude till this day, we are obviouslt jelous with the chinese that they can be united although they have differences in ideology.
You just take my words, how many are they Chinese rep in Parliment? forget about oposition or BN…just take the figures……
They could be fighting openly but rarely u see’s that MCA banging DAP or DAP banging MCA if it happens also just “Script”
    One day who know’s MCA & …….
The New Malaysia will be born.

  46. Tun,
I do agree some terms on this intresting topic. Chinese they help each other not like the malays they kill each other & can’t see another malay going up & they will try to pull down that particular malay.
I been a loyal UMNO suporter even though Im not attach to any parties neither UMNO. Since the day I can vote till today my vote are always for BN. I think I might change going to DAP from this moment even though I’m a bumiputera. Sure you do ask WHY? WHY AM I SO STUPID? AM I STUPID?
Okay, let me answer Why & also the explanation on it.
Let me start about me, I come from a very poor family, my parents past away when I was schooling. I build my fortune by myself. I started my trading business with only RM2000 & with that, till today I have bought house, cars & etc etc…. I proud to tell I’m 1 of the bumiputra take oppotunity on international trade at young age.
I was doing well with my business & recently I lost a sum of money abroad investment, which I have a diffulties rolling my business back, but I mange to pay all commitments till today. I was in a tight situation which I approach my only bank which is Maybank Bhd. I had a deposit in ASB Maybank for RM20,000 which I was ask to put RM20,000 in ASB Maybank (for 24 months only but I have serve 12 months without any delay of loan payments) earlier as for requirement for my house loan, I did that earlier. Since I’m in a very tight situation I approach Maybank & ask them if possible to withdrawal my ASB as I’m very tight currently & I’m just worried in advance if I couldn’t roll my business I won’t be able to pay my commitments as some are from Maybank loans. For your information sir our local bank just “ding dong” with me even the branch office ” simple as Manager tak masuk office & end of the week manager will review your request” excuses by excuses…..EVEN THE BRANCH MANAGER TELLING ME I THINK WE CAN’T HELP YOU!
All my saving, current & USD account are all with Maybank & we been with them for many many years.
Maybank is manage by bumiputera but are they helping bumiputera businessman especially rising one? I didn’t ask Maybank to give me personal loan or any loan, I’m just asking them back my money & that also it’s hard, how can we bumiputera be successful? This is one of the reason why pinjaman from ” Ah Long” exist!
Since the day I can vote till today my vote are always for BN & thats the reason this email are all about, asking for return help on this matter to withdrawal of my ASB thats all I ask for. I can go to this level sir, can you imagine sir how I want to save my business & my family. I made to this level & I wont give up…and will prove bumiputra can be very successful in business too. Since the day I vote I never ask anything from the government or merungut about the goverment, this is the only help I’m asking.
I’m not asking for money from others or to be famous, I’m just asking for help on this matter, I had even called Dato Wahid secetary to make an appoinment with him but unsuccessful cause I’m just a small businessman on top of that bumiputera. Until to this level I have gone. This is all about my small kids & wife for survival.
Tun Dr.Mahathir says why bumiputra can’t be successful? this is one of the reason. Why they are Malays in DAP???? are they so stupid? there must be a reason right? Why am I prefer to jump now to DAP even though Im a Malay? Why? I did even walk to Yb’s office (BN) the staff say’s okay okay we will pass your problem to YB, till today no action just silent. Whole my life supporting BN, my family relation…..not even once I have walk into Yb’s office in my whole life, but I did now for a help but they are busy…don’t have time to look into our problem, but when pilihanraya they can come to our house without appoinment.
My question is why it’s really hard for me to withdrawal from ASB? Is this what Maybank does to bumiputera’s? I’m not asking their money but my money is that too hard? not 2 million just 20 ribu.
Whats the point having bumiputra directors in Maybank such as :
Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar (CEO)
Tan Sri Dato’ Megat Zaharuddin Megat Mohd Nor
    Dato’ Mohd Salleh Harun
Tan Sri Datuk Dr Hadenan A. Jalil
    Dato’ Johan Ariffin
We are talking about Racist? We Malays can’t be united or helping each other. Actually we are jelous with chinese cause they can be united even though different background & etc etc..as long it’s ” CHINESE”. Malay’s do they?

    [email protected]
KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has refuted suggestions that the Chinese do not support Barisan Nasional.
    comment:
No Tun, I beg to defer. That is the truth, Tun. The Chinese are NOT supporting Barisan Nasional. Let’s see next election to prove me wrong !!
MCA will be wiped out and the Chinese will all be in the opposition. The only consolation is that Pakatan will not be able to form a government. That is for sure. At the end of day the govt. will be led by UMNO and other bumiputra parties. So two party system will emerge. I hope this will happen to solve all the bickering between
the bumiputras and the non-bumiputras. In fact, the country will be much easier to govern and achieve the desired results to make Malaysia a developed coumtry.

  48. Assalamualaikum Tun,
Marilah kita sama memperjuangkan berhubung Sistem Persekolahan Satu Malaysia.http://reformasimindaguru.blogspot.com

  49. Dear Jolly,
Why are you so fascinated by Singapore? U really think having S$1.00 to RM 2.40 as the only way distinguish one country better than the other? I see china are trying so hard to bring down their currency value below the US for what? You would like to tell China that they are 48 years behind?
Why the hell aren’t you comparing us with Indonesia? I see they have a party to represent EVERY races just like your fav. case study, Singapore. Well then you would say, the Majority is not Chinese and that is why their 1 rupiah = S$0.00014?
We are where we are now thanks to the multi-racial politics. The Chinese cant be where they are today without Malay and Indians working together. If we kept on fighting for rights, when will be the time to develop our nation? You see, would you even imagine being born in China or India?
Singapore is too small to be compared to Malaysia. Implementations of policy is hell super easy. If you go riot with 2 of your friends you will end up in jail straight away. But here you can open stalls in the street and stay for weeks until DBKL caught you. We are simply big-er than Singapore la dear. Haih…keep on complaining about our gov services. please go abroad and compare la. I suggest go to Ireland. haha u watch too much movie jolly.

Tun said “maybe one day everyone will forget their racial origins and regard themselves only as Malaysians”
    Terima Kasih Tun.

  51. Dear Tun.
We cannot blame DAP for making inroads into Sarawak. In fact, this is not something new but has been festering for some time now. We know that the Chinese are and never will be content with controlling the major part of the economy. Their real aim is POWER and that was what happened in Sarawak recently. They have decided that enough is enough and want the power transfer now rather than later. To say that the Chinese are only recently discontent against the leadership in Sarawak is naive and playing right into DAP’s game plan.
Tun, never EVER be turned off to tell us all what DAP and the Opposition are doing even if some idiot say that you’re a racist etc etc. To me, the Chinese are doing exactly what the Jews have been doing for so long, branding anyone exposing them as ‘anti-Semitic’. In time, people are so concerned about such branding that they kept quiet and THIS is what the DAP and the communist Chinese want you to do. NEVER EVER give them that benefit!
Tun, I seriously hope that you still have the ear of Najib and Muhyiddin as they MUST realize all this. The Malays and Bumiputeras MUST realize that it’s not Anwar who is dangerous here, but the DAP and the Chinese at large. Anwar is nothing more but a diversion, an idiot, a Court Jester being manipulated by DAP to break the Malay votes. Don’t you guys see it? A united Malay is far too dangerous for the Chinese, and thus Anwar is brought in to break the Malay votes into smaller portion. Though the Malays are the majority, once the majority is broken, the minority BECOMES the majority. Classic divide and conquer tactic. Sadly, Malays themselves are idiotic enough to swallow the crap being thrown at them.
My Malay brothers and sisters, we can tolerate and we can live with the immigrants. But before what is ours is taken, let’s all wake up and realize that the results in the Sarawak election is the indicator of what’s to come. Let’s unite and ensure that the Malay rights and political will shall exist even though many are against it.

  52. Tun,
Most of the comment here will not lead us anywhere. It is rather racist.
Set up a think tank – take Malays who have many Chinese friends and think like a Chinese to represent the Chinese community. Secondly, take some Chinese who have many Malay friends and think like a Malay to represent the Malays. Thirdly take some Malay who have many Indian friends or think like an Indian to represent the Indian community.
This is much better than a Malay ultra, Chinese fanatics and Indian chauvinist to sit together and talk about racial intergration!
    The river is always great.

  53. To some posters who are adamant that DAP is racists and
folks who advocate racial preferentialism :
1)I’ve stated this in a prior post : DAP is for all.
    For example,
-Lim Guan Eng, the CM of Penang went to jail for
defending the rights of a Malay girl
-Violet Yong, a state assembly woman from Sarawak was
booted out of the state assembly for questioning
land grab issues involving the natives.
    DAP is multi-racial – that’s a single party, contrasts
that with BN which is also multi-racial BUT only so
through a coalition. Do you see the difference?
2)People voted for change, not just the Chinese.
DAP could not have won some seats (where the Chinese
makes less than 50%) without support from other communities.
Check out these independent third-party analyses from :
    Dr. Ong Kian Ming
    Prof. Bridget Welsh
Yeah, do a google search for the above names
    and read it for yourself.
The 45% popular votes that went to PR also debunked
the myth that only the Chinese populace had voted
    against the BN.
3)Some posters are cutting their noses to spite their faces
Don’t you realize that by advancing ethnic policies you
are hamstringing the progress of Malaysia, vis-a-vis :
-talented/smart human capital takes flight. This hinders
our economic competitiveness; this is a serious matter as
BN has incorporated Talent Coporation to try to lure back
    ex-Malaysians
-investors shy away; investors are increasingly looking
at other countries that offer more value for their $$$
-the ruling elites (BN) shall forever be in power; because
absolute power corrupts, their rein goes on unchallenged
over unsavory practices like corruption, mismangement,
    discrimination, etc.
Pro-single ethnic posters must take congnizance of the fact that Malaysia needs to reform to compete and maintain its economic
prowess. If you keep on clinging to the ethnic privilege system,
    Malaysia’s competitiveness will only erode.
4)Some posters (and like minded people) need an awakening
People, we’re now in the information age. An era where
human capital powers borderless economies. It is
through human capital that we catapult to new
    scientific breakthroughs, create roaring economies
    and immense prosperities.
Please wake up before it’s too late! We need change!
    We must reform!
    regards,
    Malaysian sewerRat

  54. Hi Tun,
May I kindly respond to Azhar85 for the last time. Thank you, Tun.
    Hi Azhar85,
If you distort my writing by purposely missing out the ” ” in what I said.. what can I say.. Even without the ” “, the word itself is a harmless expletive attributive, which means ‘unpleasant’.
Looks like you really have to brush up your English.
    Furthermore, from your past posting,
    Quote
I wish/pray God will punished this all ultra kiasu “Non-Muslim” people with:
    1) Tornado
    2) Tsunami
    3) Earthquake
    4) Blizzard
    5) Lightning
But, when I see the world news, thankfully, they already been punished by God slowly..and painfully..hahahahaha..
    Unquote
Don’t bring a bad name to Malaysians.
We don’t need people like you to cause us to lose jobs and biz.

  55. Assalamualaikum…
Whatever commenter s here said I know Tun will not listen…Tun know what best for this country…
Btw, Tun is only an adviser here, our true PM nowadays is Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak. He and the rest of his cabinets will decide the future of this country.
We will see who will stand, who will lose in the PRU 13 tournament..
P/S: We already win in Sarawak, that a good motivation for a start up…
P/S 2: Jolly just thinking about money..money..and money..in his/her recent post…that the proof that he/she is greed and an ungrateful person…never ever make this fella your leader or your friend….or this fella will destroy the peace in Malaysia….

  56. Why the Malays are not interested to join DAP even thoght it is open to other races. The answer with the DAP leadership. They have the answer. Those Malays who join DAP is assuming that the DAP is good for championing the Malaysian Malaysia concept. Are they really championing the concept or just a slogan only? In reality, they are actually championing only ONE race ie the Chinese. Make no mistake about it and don’t be hypocrite. Those Malays who are with DAP are the Malay “Celop” who think that they are open-minded and liberal and do not care so much about their own race.

  57. Dearest Tun
// 9. Maybe one day everyone will forget their racial origins and regard themselves only as Malaysians. But that day has not arrived yet. Until then only the BN coalition can represent all the races in Malaysia. //
1-BN is definitely the better alternative to the Pakatan. This is by virtue that UMNO has the real power while MCA and MIC are only really alive courtesy of mainly pro UMNO Malay votes,so what say do they really have in BN.
2-For as long as the race based parties are around no one will ever forget their racial origins in a million years. So if you are serious in hoping that a day will come when we Malaysians will no longer remember our racial origins you must proactively do something now to achieve that end.
3-Lets admit it Tun there is really no desire of UMNO or BN to get rid of racial politics because that will only mean the end of UMNO and BN and the great loss of political power and the benefits that it is enjoying now and the future.
4-So BN will stay and so too will racial politics to the end of forever. But whether BN will be able to keep Malaysia going as peacefully as it has all these years will be another matter altogether.
5-The BN where the MCA and MIC merely agree and concur like yesmen may be acceptable to the Indians and Chinese immediately post merdeka when becoming citizens of Malaysia and able to keep their language and culture was all that matters.
6-But the Chinese and Indians after Merdeka are a different stock altogether. They do not have that sense of insecurity their parents or grandparents had.As far as they are concerned they are just as Malaysian as any Malays are so their expectations are different altogether. They know no other country but Malaysia unlike their fathers.
7-If Tun and the present leadership of BN expect to get the support of the present generation Chinese and Indians I believe they need to seriously reinvent themselves. If they keep on going with their ways of championing Malay interest and constantly reminding the Chinese and Indians of their inferior immigrant status than expect that this country is only heading towards more and more division.
8-At the same time if they are also not happy with the perceived corruption, mismanagement and inefficiencies must they also vote for the BN?
9-The Indians and Chinese are a blessings of God to Malaysia because they are our links to the future leaders of the World. Not many countries are as blessed like ours.We must appreciate and extract the synergistic opportunity God have granted us instead of squandering it away Tun.
10- Let us all not be egoistic. BN must take head of Najib’s wisdom ‘Ubah atau rebah.’
    Thanks Tun.

  58. Salam Tun.
Tun’s non-stop efforts to promote Malaysian unity will forever be manipulated by those ungrateful ‘we never invite them here’ racists. They were the product of brain implant cleverly carried out at the instruction of their kiasu masters to guardians of all newborns!
Children never know their racial preferences until they are about 8 years old. They treat every ahmeng, raju & ali having their built as
    friends.
However, if we look at almost all playgrounds and residential areas, the kiasu masters have indeed been most successful in their mission; the Chinese guardian angels NEVER let their ahmeng to have fun with the likes of raju & ali.
When this kid raju tried to befriend ahmeng, the guardian angel snapped at him “are you the son of jo nitwit or donplaypucks (what funny names), if not pergi, pergi!”. They do show preference to certain Indians!
Once the ahmengs and ahmings enter SRJK(C), they are ready for graduation and hence the success story of creating a new generation of racists!
    SRJK(C) MUST GO!!!
Those racists (just like me, but I’m on the good side) identified Tun Dr. M as the single greatest hurdle/barrier to their unholy dream of running the country using puppets on the string, nicknamed tok guru(?) & Super Maniac called Anwar, and hoping for UMNO’s no. 1 liability the budak KJ (KJ is initial for kurang _jar) to still be around come PRU13.
These ingrates are not interested to visit websites belonging to kitsiang, anwar maniac, ikan yu(kuanyew), tok guru(?), kapal takut sink, budak kj, guaneng because so so boring. Thus they visited Dr. M’s website to find joy, as mentioned by that warga emas called kiddo ‘the tongkangman’ ecompute.
Besides, they also hope to sell the success story they inflicted on tok guru(?) & Anwar maniac to Dr. M’s hardcore supporters!! They even brought on jolly & timothy to provide the sparks, thinking we are maniac just like Anwar!!
Once again I wish to convey my heartiest thanks to all Sarawakians, Bumis & also non-Bumis, for the most wonderful 10th Sarawak elections results. I dearly hope for similar results in your 11th Sarawak elections, because I just love to look at the most wonderful sight when Sarawakian non-Bumis salivating heavily with their tounges out of their mouths after 10 years of miss opportunities.
How I wish the 10th Sarawak elections results to repeat occordingly during PRU13!

  59. Dearest Tun,
BN has experienced losing huge numbers of Malay votes; yet UMNO did not put the blame on MCA nor MIC.
It is about 4 years between 1999 to 2004 that you (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) turn around the Malay support to the highest ever election result in Malaysian history; definitely without jeopardizing the coalition parties in BN.
Today, PM Najib should advise MCA and MIC to react on the same way when BN is losing votes from Chinese and Indian.

  60. One People One Nation is an empty slogan. It is just a pipe dream. It will never happen until doomsday not unless the Chinese are willing to sacrfice their language, culture and religion. The Chinese leaders will lose everything if they still persist to play the race card. They are the culprit. History will repeat itself again and again. Make no mistake about it. Keep on harping and instigating your race. Don’t be hypocrite. That is the the reality what is happening now.

  61. Chinese PM? Why not? As long as he is a staunch Muslim something of likes of Dr Ridzuan Tee or Ustaz Hussain Yee.

  62. Jolly must be punished. Trace his/her PC and network address and see where he/she live because of his/her treason to our constitution and spark the races fight. He/she should be put in ISA.

  63. TRANSITION WILL NEVER HAPPENED….TRUST ME..MAYBE FOR THE CHINESE..BUT NOT TO OUR GOVERNMENT..DON’T TRUST THE MISLEADING PERSON IN THE INTERNET THAT WANT TO CONFUSE US WITH THEIR LITTLE GAME..
SARAWAK ELECTION HAS PROOF IT ALL..IT’S ALL ABOUT US..THIS IS A DEMOCRACY COUNTRY..WE ALL CAN DECIDE WHAT BEST FOR US…BUT FOR MALAYS AND PRIBUMI’S…LET UNITED AND SHOW IN PRU-13 NEXT YEAR…THAT WE WERE STILL DOMINANCE IN OUR POLITICAL SECTOR…LET THE CHINESE BARK FOR TRANSITION..BUT WE STAYED FOCUS AND UNITED FOR OUR POLITICAL AND ECONOMY SURVIVAL..
THE RACIST CHINESE/PERSON (EG: JOLLY) HAS ALREADY KNOW THAT PEOPLE LIKE ME HAS KNOWN MANY OF THEIR ARROGANT/RACIST/AGENDA/SECRETS AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE ME LOOK RACIST TO THE MALAYSIAN SO I CANNOT TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT THEM AND THEIR SCHEME. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE MALAYSIAN BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE RIGHT AND I WERE WRONG.
BUT LIKE PEOPLE SAID, YOU CANNOT HIDE WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU EAT. THEREFORE LET’S WAIT AND VOTE IN PRU-13 NEXT YEAR. WE WILL SEE WHO WERE DOMINANCE AND DON’T ASSUME TOO EARLY THAT TRANSITION GOVERNMENT WILL HAPPEN, THAT STILL ARE DELUSIONAL RESULT LIKE THE ANIMAL JOLLY STORY AND HIS/HER MERITO-CRAP-SY CONCEPT.
    JOLLY MERITO-CRAP-SY STAND FOR:
    1. MERITOCRACY CONCEPT THAT CANNOT ACCEPT AND RESPECT THE
CONSTITUTION OF MALAYSIA AND CANNOT ACCEPT THE ORIGIN OF THEIR
    BIRTH.
    2. MERITOCRACY THAT WERE FAVORED BY THE DAP CHINESE THAT WANT TO
DOMINATE ALL THE RICHNESS IN MALAYSIA AND GIVE IT TO THE CHINESE.
IF MALAY’S/PRIBUMI’S VOTE FOR JOLLY MERITO-CRAP-SY, I CAN ASSURE THE MALAY’S AND PRIBUMI’S WILL BE SUFFER IN THEIR HOME LAND.
DON’T GIVE THEM WHAT THEY BARK JUST TO SEE THEY TREAT ONLY ONE MALAY NICELY BUT TO OTHERS, THEY GIVE A LIVING HELL TO THEM.

  64. To ungrateful animal named Jolly, hear this. If we treat the Chinese and the Indian our bloody enemies, you already been dead by now, but you still live, be grateful.
We just tell the truth. If you cannot accept the truth, and want to spark a war between Malay and other races or to other nation, please entertain yourself and keep your rubbish story.

  65. Hi Tun,
May I add to my previous posting.
The general public may not understand what I meant by saying “donno who” in my previous posting, but for those who are familiar with the global “local” current affairs and histories, they should be aware of.
Anyway, I need to raise a few questions.
How many non-Malay people, because of the discriminatory measures in this country, choose not to work for the Malay people?
If you are a talented Malay boss, don’t you feel disadvantaged compared to your rivals in other countries, who can easily employ anybody with ease?
We could be running out of time. Now it is S$1 to RM2.4. Soon.. it will be beyond the point of no return.
    >9. Maybe one day everyone will forget their racial origins and regard themselves only as Malaysians. But that day has not arrived yet.
If that day has already arrived in Singapore 46 years ago, I don’t see why a Malay-majority country like Malaysia cannot be as successful as, or even more successful than, a Singaporean-majority country like Singapore.
The non-Malay people can’t help much in this aspect. The Malay people must realize the issue at hand, and lead in initiating the reform. Then the benefits will overflow to others in this beloved country of ours. We are looking for leaders as visionary as ‘Thomas Jefferson’, ‘Abraham Lincoln’, ‘John F. Kennedy’, in this country.
Where are you? Are you in BN? Or are you in PR? Or not born yet?
Those are my humble opinions. If you are offended, then, I’m sorry.

  66. YABhg Tun,
I must agree, say what you like the DAP is Chinese-based, plain and simple. The Malays and Indians let alone Other in there have been duped and are just window-dressing. Look at Penang. The other thing which I would want to express is the fact that if PAS for one minute think it can lead the opposition coalition and form the government, they should think again as both the DAP and PKR WILL NEVER allow that to happen. The opposition leadership led by those two are in cahoots to deny PAS of even that opportunity let alone for “kesejahteraan rakyat”: on the pretext of justice and fairness. Unfortunately my ex-bosz whom I have high regards too have been duped inAP’s cause and another window-dressing he will be by the Lim family dynasty.
Of late I see even the Chinese-based parties in the government coalition are openly voicing in public the resentment of their kind and even with UMNO taking the lead in government; they talk as though they are the opposition within the coalition. “Kelantangan suara yang tidak bertempat, melaungkan perkara2 yang amat sensitif kepada rumpun bangsa Melayu sejagat”. Kata2 dan laungan daripada pucuk pimpinan MCA, Gerakan umpama nya; kita harus meneliti sendiri.
UMNO and Najib has been too lenient and weak, too forgiving and gives in too much at the expense of others for the sake of votes. Why give the ungrateful urban Chinese schools millions when they are already rich with air-conditioned halls and classrooms when the national schools are hardpressed for repairs? In the name of votes which have been decided by shunning the government at the expense of representation? I am counting the days when the covert coming together of these “ungrateful leaders” to destroy what has been built over the years, the peace and harmony, the progressing economy albeit slowly but surely. I have always felt that not everything the government do is right and whatever the opposition leaders say is wrong; constructive criticism must be advocated and accepted. I will agree if its for the majority even if it does not benefit me or my family, but to destroy due to opposing views cannot be allowed nor is justified.
Why am I asked to give up what is rightfully mine since the time of my forefathers and as agreed at Merdeka, and why are we giving up just to pander to their whims and fancies? I will fight for my rights but I will not fight to take away somebody elses. The same shud be the principle where the malays are defending their rights but why are the others wanting to take it away from us??
If only the malays can realised that they are just the majority in numbers, but divided and in this regard, their children and grandchildren will suffer in the end if they cannot revert to being united …as a Malay Muslim. Even the Prophet can negotiate but not Nik Aziz who is a politician first, an ulamak second.
I was amazed when I saw a Malay girl at the recent F1 wearing a T-shirt making a statement “I am a Malaysia first, and a Malay second!”. Please, I think we are so engulfed in petty issues which does not help nation-building at all. If at all, I wish to make a statement too: Since a certain Mr Eldrick Woods is a Thai-African American and his children a Thai-African-Swede American, then I AM A MALAY-MALAYSIAN!!

  67. Dear Mahathir,
I’m bemused by your reasoning. You’re effectively saying:
    1. DAP is a racist party because an overwhelming majority of its members are Chinese.
    2. UMNO is not a racist party because even though 100% of its members are Malays, it forms a coalition/alliance with other parties which are 100% Indian or 100% Chinese, the sum total of the resultant entity is multiracial and hence not racist.
Well, you might be dismayed to learn that DAP has also entered into a coalition with other parties which have members of other races. Therefore, by the same token, how can you say DAP is a racist party? The sum total of Pakatan Rakyat is not racist.
For someone of your purported extraordinary intelligence to feign ignorance on this matter is disgraceful. The people have rejected BN because we don’t care that it brings the Malay, Chinese and Indian politicians under one umbrella body, because the politicians — albeit of different races — are clearly only there to look after themselves. To be honest, we are disgusted by the very people who are under that one umbrella body.
If you were right about anything in this post, it was that Tunku Abdul Rahman’s formula of the Alliance did work. He has our respect for what he did for the country, but please do not compare any of the BN politicians with Tunku, or the current BN with the Alliance, as that would be an insult to our Father of Independence. Don’t forget that it was you who revolted against Tunku’s leadership and antagonised Tunku until his death, and it was you who undermined most of the foundation of the Malaysia that Tunku envisioned and founded and replaced it with a corrupt system during your premiership. Please do not pretend for one second that the BN of today is a continuation of Tunku’s vision and ideals. We know it is not. Those who have any doubt need only to look at the history of UMNO-BN to understand how the Malaysia Tunku envisioned and founded has been turned topsy-turvy.
And finally, I have to say “my foot!” to the claim of power-sharing under BN. The only things BN politicians do share are the spoils of the exploitation they impose on the rakyat — among themselves. Only the blind and bigoted — and perhaps those who partake in the corrupt government and stand to benefit from the current BN leadership — will defend the bane of BN that seeks to continue to poison our country.

  68. benar tu Tun

  69. Your comment “UMNO, MCA and MIC are racial parties but they contest elections not under their own party names but as the Alliance or BN coalition. As a member of a multi-racial coalition they cannot promote only Malay, Chinese or Indian interests. They have coalesced into one political entity and their struggle is for all the races in that entity. The race based parties working together in the interest of members of all races lose their racial character.” is utter nonsense, and makes a mockery of the real situation on the ground which is visible to every Malaysian. Being a highly learned and experienced person, who ran a government, your comments are mischevious to say the least. I have been a fervent supporter of yours over the years especially through the asian financial crisis which you handled ingeniusly, but to say that BN functions as a non racial coalition devout of racial inclinations is utter rubbish! Everybody knows how UMNO has ensured that Malays TOTALLY dominate everything in Malaysia, be it in government jobs or places in universities or government business contracts! I am sorry I cannot agree with you here. If a solution is not found to this nonsense, I fear the worst for Malaysia. Infact it has been a long time coming. A solution must be found that will unite every Malaysian. That will only happen if the Malays and chinese and indians stop imposing religion inclined systems on each other. That is why I feel a very strict secular system is needed. As long as more and more muslims strive for a greater role for Islamic political systems that do not respect or even recognise other faiths, that will spell real disaster for Malaysia. The islamic inclination of the Malays is causing the other races to dig in and thus causing all the growing divisions! We cannot afford this problems because there are bigger problems in the horizon. The troubles in the middle east are not due to ‘The Gaddafis or the dictators in Egypt and Yemen’ but rather due the large uneducated populations that are growing in this countries and in many countries even in Malaysia, especially among the muslims. Too many people are only acquiring knowledge that works in retail based enviroments and not in creative based enviroments, where out of the box thinking creates value. Until that is done, the whole thing will unravel. Retail based enviroment doesn’t work any more for other countries because of China and India. This is where we now have to start to follow the western based education systems and not the easy confucius based systems, as in Singapore or Japan or currently in Malaysia.

  70. Assalamualaikum Tun,
Hopefully the chinese community will understand the BN concept of mutual sharing and partership. They need to know voting for DAP which is only for one race will only make racial harmony to worsten and will not benefit them in the long run. More engagement with the chinese community is needed. I’m sure they will listen to reason.
    Thank you.

  71. Dear Tun,
You said ‘1Melayu, 1Bumi’ movement disastrous. Now Malaysia Insider is trying to use your statement to ridicule the Malays. See how this media trying to manipulate the minds of the Chinese. Read the comments of those people who posted their comments in the Malaysia Insider.
Malaysia Insider is actually the main promoter of trying to weaken the Malay unity. I am very suspicious of this media. The govt. should monitor the contents of its news and articles to ensure that its agenda to destabilise the Malay political power is not materialised. This Malaysia Insider is full of hypocrisy of the first order. They will take advantage of political statements that are in their favour to protect the Chinese interest.
Tun, they say you are racist. I think this the approriate time for you to show your full suppot of the Malay aspiration of promoting “One Melayu, One Bumi”. Not a bad idea after all !!
I hope you are consistent with all your statements so that the Malays and bumiputras are not confused and can understand better your reasoning of things and not to make others capitalise and manipulate your statements for being inconsistent. It won’t help the Malays in their struggle to maintain their political power. I think it is time to firm. Either they are with the Malays or they don’t. Life must go on without having the Chinese to be involved in the govt. The Malays can manage this land of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu on their own. Make no mistake about it. It is already 50 years for the Malays accomodating the demands of the Chinese but until today they still find themselves uncomfortable to be associated with the Malays and other bumiputras in every aspect of life. Enough is enough !! My dear Tun,you must put the Malays in the right frame of mind before you leave this world. This my sincere wish and you have to do it right away once and for all.

  72. @ Shawn Tan,
I don’t see new generations not hung up with racial identity. I don’t see it that way. A lot and a lot need to be improve. We still have a lot of Chinese school, Indian School and SRK school eventhough meant to be for all malaysian but usually the majority of the students is Malay.
How can you say that younger generation don’t hung up since they only mixed during their college years since most of them haven’t mixed early years. If they don’t bother why still the chinese and indian get so mad when the govt want to make wawasan school? Racial based party will no longer needed if we all agreed to share and sacrifice our racial identity. Still a lot of ppl youngsters talking chinese, indian in daily transaction ion fact now it become a worry some of the youngster do not how to speak in malay.
Just imagine tomorrow we agreed that no more chinese language to be tought at school, no tamil only Malay and English will be tought as medium of language. Do you think they will be no riot??
I believe that now days the youngsters do not bother about politics. As for them politics is dull and very heavy subjet and not fun to talk about. They don’t even bother to know whats the truth. They are more rebellious and like to try on something and not knowing the consequences. They are easy to be influenced. Very rae to see youngster. For instance…we have world class facilities but we only produce very little athletes world class. Our teenagers like to have fun….fun…and fun.

  73. 1. Every time I mention DAP’s racism, the hackneyed rebuttal is that UMNO is a racial party, more than DAP.
Questions: Is UMNO members consist of any other races?
Questions: It is the current BN government that makes the laws that anything less than 15parties not allowed to joined as a coalition? So it is Bn that themselves exclusive? PKR/PAS/DAP/SNAP is a coalition not allowed by BN?
Questions: Similarly, is it the same that UMNO propagated Leadership-Lordship in BN, that others party has to follow?
Questions: Then is it 1Malaysia similar like Malaysian Malaysia, as all Malaysian listen to BN-Leadership of UMNO then by the rest?
    5. Before independence, the races were deeply divided. They were antagonistic towards each other. Because of this they formed race-based parties. Multi-racial parties just could not get the support of all races. Invariably they would be dominated and supported by one race or another. In elections they all lost.
Questions: Is this meant that, it is something of before? Then shall BN open itself as open member party, rather than exclusively through UMNO/MCA/MIC and etc, to reflect current modern thinking?
Questions: Is Ketuanan concept is recent 30years phenomena? As we refer to old history books written during 60ies & early 70ies, never had Ketuanan concept or social contract was mentioned?
Questions: Is it the same period Malaysia develop & prosper during early 80ies until late 90ies, together with other South Asian nation like Singapore/South Korea/Thailand and Hong Kong? But all felled during 97-98 financial crush. But most have risen from the ashes like Singapore/Hong Kong/South Korea except Malaysia, which struggling until now?
Questions: Is BN condoning their members be part of Perkasa, isn’t the same mindset? Or previously MCA President supported removing 30% quota was meet with threatening calls from UMNO isn’t it similar?
    9. Maybe one day everyone will forget their racial origins and regard themselves only as Malaysians. But that day has not arrived yet. Until then only the BN coalition can represent all the races in Malaysia.
Questions: So is above all points are meant to said, BN is the only legitmate party meant for Malaysia?

  74. Truth is DAP is gaining momentum and cum the next election, BN would be gone. You can criticize all you want in your grave. People are sick of BN. Maybe when BN is the opposition, they will really learn how to create a proper Malaysian country. Maybe then we’ll accept BN again..And to hell with all the racist people in this blog. there’s no room for people like this in Malaysia..

  75. Dear Tun,
Yes, BN is a multiracial party. It’s members comprise all races from all walks of life i.e. Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Dayaks, Muruts, Melanaus, etc. In other words its members are from all ethnicity in Malaysia. This has been going on successfully since even before independence. BN must say and righfully claim that it is a multiracial party. BN supporters are also from all races. That is why BN forms the majority in Parliament. DAP is not a multiracial party as they claim simply because its supporters and voters are all Chinese. Non Chinese will not vote for DAP. Also all its candidates in the recent Sarawak elections were all Chinese. As such, DAP is actually a Chinese racist and chauvinist party. Their claim that it is a multiracial party is just propaganda. The evil Lim family must be defeated in the next GE13 before they become the Lee family in Singapore.

  76. the PR supporters choose not to understand Racist Political Party and Racial Political Party.
But this only apply to UMNO/MCA/MIC only. To them, PKR/DAP/PAS is Multiracial with different agenda but common goal.
    :p

  77. Lagi lagi citer pasal kaum kaum pendatang ni..
    satu lagi citer
    Tell you this la..
That word is created by your kaum. still strongly use until now. if you dont believed, as one guy from that kaum which kasta he is???
So before you ask dewan bahasa to delete that word, please ask your kaum first to delete that kasta.. if you ask you kaum.. the answer is simple.. fly kite lah.. bodoh!!!
If dewan bahasa ikut to delete the word, I nak mintak dewan bahasa delete these words jugak, Babi, cina, india, rasuah, anjing dll. org lain boleh suruh dewan bahasa delete perkataan lain jugak. last last kamus dewan bahasa tak de word. i.e rakyat mesia ni bisu la.. no word to speak,
For me, Tunku given “kerakyatan” to the kaum pendatang was a big mistake. He supposed to grant only permanent resident to the kaum pendatang. so if this kaum pendatang making alot of noise like now, we just kick them out… settle problem for all.
oh ya.. my challenge in Victory in Sarawak 1, tak de kaum yang sambut. chicken out. SO SHUT UP!!!!!!

  79. To Dr. Mahatir and his supporters,
1)What DAP’s actions or statements have racists undertones?
Please be specific; you’re just merely taking a swipe at DAP,
    and no more than that.
    BN is racists, e.g.
-peaceful protestors like candle light demonstrators are arrested
while cow head vigilantes are let off free
-students who get average or bad grades are enrolled into colleges
and government institutions while good and talented students get
    limited seats
-Islamic places of worship sprout around non-Muslims majority areas
whereas non-Islamic temples are absolutely banned in Muslim majority places
-militant groups like Perkasa are spewing venomous spiels with
impunity whereas you can bet your bottom dollar if a non-Malay
were to emulate Perkasa, he/she would be arrested immediately
-the indoctrination of racism e.g. courses in the national
    civics bureau (Biro Tatanegara)
2)You’re spinning the original coalition’s tenets into half-truths.
This remark relates to point 1 whereby BN is racists.
3)You’re right most members in DAP are Chinese. However, DAP
has people of all ethnic backgrounds in its membership. But
you’re wrong when you proclaim DAP advocates Chinese rights
only; DAP is all. The media and BN are the ones who are
whirling DAP into a Chinese based party, which is false.
    DAP fights for all:
e.g. Lim Guan Eng, the CM of Penang went to jail for
defending the rights of a Malay girl.
e.g. Violet Yong (SA from Sarawak) was booted out of
the state assembly when she voiced out against land grab
    issues involving the natives
4)Please elaborate how does DAP’s ethos “Malaysian Malaysia”
    promote exclusiveness? Isn’t “Malaysian Malaysia”
    representational of every Malaysian?
5)We need to transcend beyond racial lines. BN and PR coalitions
are multi-racial. Now, we’re entering into a two party system.
Obviously BN doesn’t want a two party system; they are pulling
all stops to prevent the emergence of a new political reality.
Folks need to realize that a two party system affords the voters
choices and access to opposing views.
6)Multi ethnicities parties are the way to go!
7)Mutli racial parties like BN is now corrupted, racists, etc.
8)False – PR like BN is multi- racial
9)I, too hope ethnicity will be a vestige in this country’s
political landscape in the not too distant future. After
all, we can trace our origins back to Africa :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recent_African_origin_of_modern_humans
    regards,
    Malaysian sewerRat

  80. Dearest YAB Tun,
Good answer Tun! Those who believe that DAP is a REAL multi-racial party are dreaming and in denial. We have a bunch of hypocrites in DAP.
I like point 8: “Only the blind and the bigoted would fail to see the success of the coalition of racial parties and the power-sharing Governments that they form in Malaysia. In fact the opposition parties have realised this and are trying to form a coalition.”
    Allow me Tun:
To Shawn Tan on April 22, 2011 8:37 AM
You are dreaming I guess. But, I agree with your last statement. Those who continue to play the race card, will ultimately lose. The ULTIMATE LOSER is going to be DAP. DAP can only win small battles, but at the end of the day DAP will always lose the WAR.
    Thanks Tun.
** May Allah SWT bless Tun & family **

Hikayat Lubang Najis: Orang Melayu Mesti Baca!!!!

  82. Rebuttal:
1)Has anyone in DAP raised their kris like the UMNO leaders and threathened other races? Who is more racist?
2)Has UMNO really looked after all the Malays needs and how is it that rich and corrupted UMNOPUTRAS that has tingakatan 3 or 5 education and holding low paying government jobs become multi millionaires. They must be super businessmen or really lucky to find the money in their backyard. There are still a lot of poor Malays in the country and are being fed the government propanganda to believe that UMNO is still looking out for them. They get the crumbs while the UMNO members gets the big pie. Who is looking out for whose interest?
3)Is DAP really against anything Malay or is it fighting for equal justice for all Malaysians. The less educated Malays are so brainwashed by your propanganda that they are easily frightened into a straight line. The educated and more informed Malays are not as gullible as you think. DAP is open to all races and it is scare tactics of people like you that frightens off the uninformed Malays from joining it. UMNO is not open to all Malaysians and is exclusive. How can equal justice and transparency to all citizens that DAP preach and practice according to the Malaysian constitution be considered racist? The constitution is the law of the land and not the twisting of the law to your liking like sacking all the judges like you did. Who is more multiracial?
4)Malaysian Malaysia is a myth and a ploy by the present government to hang on to power after the near defeat in the last election. We are not so easily swayed by your sweet talk anymore. People has become more educated and informed. They can find true information for themselves and not blinded on the govt’s media propanganda. The same old policy remains after 40 years. Nothing has changed with the tongkat mentality.
5)Before independence, the Bitish were running the show and are the “tuans” to all Malaysians. Their rule and divide policies are the ones that separate Malaysians. It is not because all races were antagonistics towards each other. The truth is that all races living before independence gets along 100% better than the current period.
    6) Now Tunku is a true Malaysian who works hard to include all Malaysians unlike you who did nothing but keep the status quo. Tunku is well loved and still is till today. I loved himas my PM then and still does. The younger generations of Malaysians have their history tainted by UMNO’s propangada again.
    7) You gotta be joking that there is no animosity and everything is hunky dorie in Malaysia. Everything is simmering just under the skin. The truth is that it is more like business as usual. The cops and the politicians ensure that the peace is kept for their own benefit as not to slay the goose that lays the golden egg. Once all the corruption is stopped, these roaches will cause trouble to the country and stir up trouble. In the meantime, Malaysia is being bled dry. The poor Malaysian people are all discontented with the rise in cost of living.
8)You are the one that is blind and bigoted to see that the Malaysian people has gotten more sophiscated and well informed. Your good old days of doing things with no checks and balance and also sheer arrogance is over. The people wants accountabilty and tranparency more and more. The time for change has already started from the last election and dinosaurs like you will be extinct with racial thinking.
9)Why one day? Why not now? Why didnt you do anything when you were PM to make Malaysians to identify as Malaysians? Was it because you were afraid of the little Napoleans in UMNO? Why is UMNO afraid to change now? Is it because of their corrupted agenda? I salute all Malaysians who will continue the struggle for a better Malaysia than the present corrupted regime.

  83. Hi Tun,
Thank you Tun for teaching us about the differences between the two.
However, I noticed how Singapore has become so rich that they can buy anything in Malaysia with a smiley face, but we have to work so hard just to earn the same amount of money. They have the systems in place. Even minor issue like the loudness of their neighbours’ “music” has been regulated, in decibels. They no longer need to concentrate on solving for issues due to differences in race, language and religion. Now it is S$1 to RM2.45, in the future, it may become S$1 to RM10. Then all our efforts will go into the drains.
I was also old enough to understand that our constitution has been amended so many times. In the original spirit of the original constitution, Tun H.S. Lee and Tun S.S. Tan became the ministers for finance. Slowly, some people realize that the original spirit has no longer been followed, and the spirit that led us into independence has been breached, so they look more seriously at the points that the opposition made during elections.
And this “reaction” (instead of “action”) has been distorted by some people as an “action” instead.
Foreigners whose ancestors have successfully built a “kelong” for some of us to swim into are now treated more highly than the original contributors to the economy whose ancestors’ graves can be found in the centre of the towns and cities. Bear in mind that these foreigners fight with each other for land based on the presence of their ancestors’ graves in each other’s land. Now you are importing them into this land, and treat them like donno who.
Those born in the new era have been following the new history books. Even Jolly is older than the history books to realize that they are different. How ridiculous. And the editors are all of a particular race. Was MIC or MCA consulted? No.
Though my name suggests otherwise, I am old enough to see the changes as compared to the original spirit that has gained us the independence in 1957.

  84. Tun,
    Sekalian.

  85. Good morning Ayahanda Tun,
    1. Wow, TuaCheng has brought out 2 comments of Magnificent & Interesting for ‘Victory in Sarawak’ which will keep my mind busy for few minutes to digest after my eldest boy told me about the Christianity and Science pamphlets being distributed by our Christian Chinese sister in one of the urban town in Selangor.
    2. After reading the pamphlet, he does not agree with the Malaysian Christianity Association that Scientists invent innovations without knowing why the innovation should be invented in the first place since he has watched Hollywood blockbuster of Angels vs Demons.
    3. There is one very famous rule of thumb, which is still in the process of evolving since AD (After Christ) in which Jesus claimed that he is the son of ‘God (Landmark: Juruselam, republic to Palestine) and Muhammad claimed that he is the Messenger of ‘Allah’ (Mekah, republic to UAE) for centuries before Napoleon and Waterloo War, 3 Kingdom War, Civil Wars of North South America, China and India, WW1, WW2, Gulf War, Economic Recession, Economic Depression, Economic Deflation, and now Middle East Political Wars.
    4. The American Christianity fabric believes in this rule of thumb that says, ‘When God, atau Tuhan, has planned to throw us out, the Almighty will create a scene that would make us acted at our craziest behaviour to inform us that our time has come for ‘Independent Day (ID)’that proved What, Why, How an When the ‘Noah Ark’ was built and came in the in BC (Before Christ)as written by disciples of the Old Testament in The Bible, if I am wrong, Jolly, wajarperak and Hanan may correct me, ok? (remarks: Because of technological evolution , we have thumb drive and USB skin today)
    5. Science (includes Technology, Economics, Political, Bio-Medication, Business Statistic, Education, Mental Arithmetic, Pharmaceutical, Modern Mathematic, Computer Science, War Mass Destruction (WMD) Weapons, etc) is here to invent Perfection Theories and Models as Survival Tools when we are landed with scarcity or limitation of natural resources, land, human resource, green, food, water, electricity, fuel, capital resources and coal, etc.
    6. Arts and Culture (including elections, business vision and updated strategies, logic, common sense, perception, emotion, sentiments, races and religions, etc.) is here to invent Perfection Theories and Models which Human Beings are able to survive as Tools when Science has failed its Original Technological and innovation values.
    7. In Malaysia, we have a choice either to rebuild old estate by adding value to the property, contohnya, private property development in Jalan Imbi and Jalan Sultan Ismail, near Bulatan Pahang opposite General Hospital KL.
    8. Or, we allow to cut more green in preserve forest through Kementerian Malaysia to pave way for private property development, we should leave the decision to CMs, Sultan and MBs to decide what they want to do with these green technology and economic issues.
    9. If BN wants to win by-elections, UMNO President whom holds the majority Rakyat votes must choose the President for MCA whom can assist him to rationalize its 1 Malaysia Philosophy, NKRAs, Government Transformation Programme and Government KPI, YB Ong Tee Keat is one of the National Chinese Leader whom PM should look into because Malaysia is formed with the Royal Constitution from Raja2 Perlembagaan and Borneo Chief Minister.
    10. As for NGO PERKASA, DAP, PAS and PKR political parties, PM should let them continue their political struggling so that more opposition voices can be heard to make Malaysia reach Wawasan 2020 with stability and prosperity in political, economic and socio landscape with GDP growth of 6% so that Malaysia can sustain its economy and National Gross Income by reaching the higher income status gradually.
    11. To satisfy all political parties that have co-existed since 3Ks (3 Kingdoms) of Peninsula (includes Sabah and Brunei), Singapore and Sarawak, PM Najib, should declare PRU 13 before the exist of Agong Malaysia ke 13 to avoid barking of MPs in Parliament.
    12. If UMNO dares to pick MCA President like what DS Dr Mahathir Mohamad did, I will cast my vote to BN because I do not like the style of Lim Kit Siang’s so-called Democratic Action due to my tertiary education because he has never admit himself as Malaysian, and I definitely do not want myself landed in my late father‘s shoes again because he is more intersted in fighting for his political agenda by talking the same old rasuah s.hit after 40 years again and again.
    13. When I was young, I heard rasuah in Fire department and today, I still hear the same sh.t.
    14. My children are youths today, I still hear the same old holy sh.t of ‘rasuah sh.t Gimmick’ played by MCA and DAP again and again by ‘nasi lemak vs vegetarian’ talking today.
    15. Did Lim Kiat Siang and Chua Soi Lek fight for ‘rasuah’ when they were young?
    16. The answer is ‘takda’ because they themselves are confused with solution cost (under table – cash rasuah, no risk, no record) and lobby cost (upfront table – capital investment, high risk, got recrod) due to racism, and he is not LKY, and I am the wife of LYK, so what?
    17. Dr Chua intends to drop 5 MCA MPs as ‘president’ who does not listen to his command and one of them is YB Ong Ka Ting and YB Wee Jeck Seng since his Gung-gung Senator Gan Ping Sieu, who looks DAmn sissy and and sly-chan (means makcik2 yang suka bergaduh pasal isu gosip atau remeh-temeh), has told him, the naked Emperor MCA Chua, that by pointing at ‘si kancil by telling Chua that the si kancil adalah si kuda and this is definitely not welcome by Japan Emperor and Premier China.
    18. As the Chairman of BN and PM Malaysia, DS Najib Tun Razak should choose BN MPs that he sees fit to into transforming 1 Malaysia of People Fisrt, Performance Now.
    19. To start this, Premier Najib should invite Dr Mahathir Mohamad, CM Mat Taib, Dr George Chan, Ling Liong Sik, Lim Ah Lek, Ong Tee Keat, Ong Ka Ting, Wee Jeck Seng, Palenivel and Vellu as VIPs guests to let Premier Wen Jia-bao to know US better because the naked MCA president Chua who knows nothing about business, media and investments, cannot lead Chinese fabric today.
    20. BN Chairman has spent public fund of RM500 millions for Sarawak GE10th in which 500,000,000 / 650,000 = RM729.230 per voter which do not benefit the Sarawkians.
    21. Who will benefit?
    22. Only BN political party will benefit, and all systems in the world will fail one day.
    23. If PM Najib does not stop the bleeding of ‘duit rakyat‘, UMNO will be ‘tumpangkan oleh rakyat Melayu’ themselves due to poverty.
    24. By All The Way, Hishamuddin, Mukhirz, Hii Liong (I like his name chosen by his father because his father wanted him to be the role model in Chinese community) and Khairy should be invited to meet up with Premier Wen and his delegates in Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya, Malaysia.
    25. We are Asians similar to Americans; and the rule of thumb is, ‘If there are soldiers and investors, there is no country and there will be no home for the families.’
    26. Why they want to include dialects because they know now how Malaysia politics work.
    27. They want to include and drill biological dialects so that our culture and tradition can be continued in managing our home affairs which can never be replaced by greedy politicians of the cakap tak serupa bikin.
    28. They will not fail because they are practical and do not worship ‘God’.
    29. They do not believe in democratic political ideology in which the Presidents can creating fear and war in US.
    30. I am liberal thinker with family first and I do not believe in democracy because I want to take charge of what I have to do for the country and family.
    31. Only irresponsible hypocrites will use ‘Tuhan’ as democratic front to control our life.
    Good day Ayahanda Tun.

  86. Dearest Tun,
The day has already arrived. It’s just some political parties who have not realised it yet. The transition is already happening. The young are not so hung up on their racial identity other than the ones shoved down their throats by the older generation.
One People One Nation is not just an empty slogan. It’s far more important for the government to come up with ways to promote unity instead of further segregating people, like asking for “sub-race” in application forms now, and lying to the people on the reasons why it is needed.
Those who continue to play the race card, will ultimately lose.
