1. Pahang will soon
be selling water to Selangor/KL. I don’t think Pahang would be happy to receive
3 sen per thousand gallons.
2. Melaka has been
paying Johore 30 sen per thousand gallons and is still doing so and will
continue to do so I suppose. Would Johore be asking for more than 30 sen in the
future? God knows.
3. In 2011 the first
agreement with
to sell 350 million gallons of raw water daily at 3 sen per thousand gallons will
end. What would we do then? I suspect despite
would still need the 350 million gallons daily.
4. The other treaty
would end by 2060 in which the price is also 3 sen per thousand gallons. But
without the 350 million gallons daily according to the first treaty,
rapidly increasing population of new immigrants would not have enough water.
5. So, the amount
supplied according to the first treaty would be even more crucial despite
Newater and desalination.
6. The Government of
Tun Abdullah had very cleverly decided not to raise any of the issues
outstanding with
after the bridges were jettisoned. I suppose this charitable act would help
cement friendship with that city-state with a per capita income of US$36,000 (
i.e one-fifth of
7. 2011 is not too
far away. Have we thought about extending the 2011 treaty or not extending it
or negotiating a new water supply agreement?
Are we going to be charitable again and sell raw water at 3 sen per
thousand gallons to our rich neighbour?
8. Being charitable
and not raising prickly issues is a good way to make friends. But what is the
cost to the people of
Salam Tun;
1st of all, i would like to convey my highset appreciation to all Tun contribution to our beloved country Malaysia.i beleive malaysian always pray for your health an so am i.
On the matter, i totally agree with Tun. we should make changes…selling to singapore water with current price is not a good idea anymore.
How much malaysian tolerate with the neighbour, they still assume us as a threat to them..
So my suggestion, increase the price or stop the supply…then they will know.
wasalam
Having work and reside on both side of the causeway and another commonwealth country, I am amaze at the commentaries of loopsided and skewed comment. Sometime better not to open your mouth, no body will say you are dumb.
Think if ;
1. you are malaysian and your wife is singaporean.
2. think what the other guy will read your statement who happens to be different culture,
3. Think if you only care about yourself, we will go the same way as dinosaur, qand you are stranded in Mars and your only buddy is your neighbour.
4. See the greed and selfishness of human race right now in Copenhagen.
5. If you are the PM of all Singaporean and all Malaysian!
6. The art of bargaining is to do your homework thoroughly and not shooting from your hip.
7. This reminds me some owner of palm oil mill who do not want to send their waste to another mill who are using it to produce power because they are jealous of the neigbhours success .. but rather discard in their yard and rot and generate green house gas.
8. Where is the wisdom of humanity and mankind ? Does 2 wrong make one right? Primates thinks it does.
So watch what you say and what you do.

i am as a siamese people in malaysia would like to comment on singalong statement. Well not all of us came from immigrants..from yunan, china. Some of them is from other part of the world and exist in malaysia itself. What make this land belong to us our old generation are fight and dare to die for this country. Their blood because of fighting for our freedom are all over this country. Their blood and sacrifice make this land belong to us. Singalong should check and read more about our history before making any stupid statement. I proud of my country and dare to die for this country. Do u dare to die for your country? Think before u say singalong…u the one actually are have been brainwashed..!
Tun,
1. Lets make water issue as a business plan. Justify viability and potential gains in dollar n cent.
2. There should not be any personal interest if we opt to renewing 2010 agreement.
3. Lets make a valid case of not supplying water to Singapore. I knew they have and ready with back up plan.
4. 3 cent does not bring value. They said better than nothing. I said its better than no value gain.
5. They can make use of 3 cent water and sell it high, why on earth we don’t make full used of our own water? Let’s start make full use of it and appreciate more our resources.
Salam
You always wanted the swing bridge to replace the causeway, rite ?
Here’s how; Ask the government to build nuclear power plants in Malaysia. Why? Simple. Singapore’s Lee Hsien Loong is very against the idea of south-east asian countries going nuclear. Notice that the moment some countries in this region toy with this idea, Lee will become very uptight and will urge these countries to think twice. He will even offer to set up a regional nuclear safety watchdog to curb them in case they decide to go ahead with their nuclear plans. He is very fearful and frustrated because firstly he can’t build any nuclear plants in Singapore because it is too small. Secondly, he is afraid these countries will follow India, Pakistan and Iran path of acquiring nuclear weapons. This is making Lee Hsien Loong losing sleep every night, especially if countries like Indonesia and Malaysia going the atomic path. Whenever a country in this region signal its intention of nuclear programme, he will becomes very uneasy. He is afraid, very afraid. Remember the last time Indonesia announced it nuclear plans. Singapore newspapers started to highlight Indonesia as a earthquake prone country, therefore not suitable for such programme. When did Singapore start to have such interest in Indonesia’s Volcanos and quakes ? If Malaysia start to embark on nuclear energy, Singapore’s Lee Hsien Loong will surely invite our government to their Istana for talks on the bridge, water and other issues. Even if they remain stubborn, Malaysia have nothing to lose because we will have clean, cheap and unlimited energy for our future generations.
Please Lah Zulkfliki
You guys also not the son of the soils lah, they are the orang asli wat. You guys also immigrants from yunan china leh go check history lah. How can allow a foreign navy contingents in woodland, must force them out at their own accord wat, this is national security u know. Maybe you all brainwashed by BTN oredy.
We will continue to enjoy 3 sen of lokang water for another 50 years!

Dear Tun,
Allow me to respond to the rude ‘Singalong’kang or whatever pseudonym this Singaporean is using when giving his personal view in this blog of yours. This Singalong(kang) seems to be having a very sick behavior and are indeed very rude in giving his personal opinion that sound garbage to me.Bro,living in a developed Republic like Singapore doesn’t allow you to have the liberty and all the right to scorn people anyway you like especially when you are addressing matters to our highly respected PM.You act just like mafioso and if you are that great of a man then why not surface yourself to us without using pseudonym so that we can know who this Singalong(kang) that are so eager to skin Malaysian. I am not saying Malay but Malaysian, means the Malay,Chinese and Indian of malaysia. You want to be rude,Dr.M can incarcerate your stupid comments from being read by others but instead he don’t.So Singaloag(kang)………my piece of advise to you is to be a little tame lion rather than growling but have full fear of being skinned yourself.Cheerio Montalban Singalong(kang).
Thank you Tun.
Dear tun,
When our water agreement end in 2011,it is prudence and wise that we stop supplying Singapore with our raw water and also even stop thinking of negotiating for a new terms and conditions with them.I am very confidence that as a developed Republic with NEwater inhand,Singapore would be able to do wonders with the technology they have viz convertig sea water to drinking water. It’s a piece of cake to them.We don’t haunt ourself with the threats that will consequently come from their ‘big Brother’or for this matter, the Republic themselves.Be like Iran,if you feel like doing something, proceed and do it.Why are we afraid of our own shadow. The water is ours,so,we can do what we want with it.
Last not least, like what the Malay saying goes ‘Beruk dihutan disusukan, anak dipangkuan mati kebuluran’.So,come 2011,Johorean……..please stop doing water business with the Republic and sell your water output to your ‘little brother’;Melaka.Sell to the latter even at a little premium, let say 3-6 sen,at least you are helping your ‘flesh and blood’rather than enslaving yourself to outsider.Don’t worry of the repercussion of your decision,Iskandariah will bloom and flourish with or without the Republic.
Tun,take care and I pray for your good health.Salam to Tun Dr.Hasmah too.Cheers
Assalamu’alikum Tun,
terimakasih Tun.
Hello again Tun,
What to do Tun… Nak potong air to S’pore nanti sekutu depa yg besaq2 tu buat hal dgn kita plak. Nanti tak pasai2 masalah lain plak yg. mai. Klau ikut sejarah air, kita ni asyik mengalah je dgn S’pore. Mengalah sebab kesian. Satu dunia pun dah tau…
S’pore ni akai takdak, maruah pun takdak. Di Malaysia 3 sen senang2 bleh jumpa dlm parit. Ish!!! sakit hati bila teringat masalah air Malaysia-Singapore! Konon depa nak tunjuk kat dunia depa terror! Piraah!
Tun, lupakanlah pasal hal air dgn S’pore ni. Memang takda kesudahan.
Dear Tun;
I totally agree with you on this matter. Malaysia is holding the controlling chip on the water matter. No matter how much toilet water Singapore treat will be able to cope for the demand and replace the water quantity that Malaysia supplies till 2011. I think we should nego a certain % of the Singapore PUB bills to consumers to ensure everytime they (Singapore) raise the bill to Singaporeans, we benefit too. Current rate of what we supply is important for long term as natural resources are getting scarse especially water catchment area. We in Malaysia are also facing water shortages. The initial purpose of selling cheap water to Singapore is as a token of goodwill to them only and not for them to make profit. We treat Singapore like brothers. There is No other purpose to sell them cheap. Also we need to prepare to treat (wash) our own water rather than buy back from Singapore with higher price.

…………MENJAWAB sdr ‘Zulkiflee Bin Arip’ on November 25, 2009 10:34 PM
Mencerca.
Baguslah kalau tulisan sdr bukan mencerca kaum.
Sejarah S’pura. S’pura terlepas lebih krn British bukan Cina S’pura. S’pura yg minta masuk M’sia. S’pura di singkir oleh Umno sendiri. S’pura bertukar tuan sejak kedatangan British bukan krn licik sesiapa.
Orang asing. Moga pandangan sdr dirahmati Tuhan. God bless your segregation thoughts.
Taat setia.
Melayu S’pura sanggup bersusah (dlm meritocracy), cinta tanahair.
Pelarian. Rakyat sekarang bukan pelarian dari luar. Nenek moyang mrk bukan perlarian melanda negara orang atau pengemis tapi buruh upahan dibawa oleh British. Mencari kerja di rantauan(mcm Melayu in The Doctors) Sejarah penjajahan British membawa ke perkongsian sekarang.
Salah siapa.
Kemasukkan 23% krn British, bukan dari tujuan sesiapa nak menakluk. Kita tak boleh ubah sejarah. Perjanjian perkongsian 1959 (Perlembagaan) sudah dimeterai. Apa nak ungkit pendatang, asing, pulang, penumpang, tuan beratus thn dulu lagi.
Syabas.
Sdr lulusan cemerlang gemilang terbilang BTN!!
VANAKAM & SELAMAT SEJAHTERA TUN,
I am one of the thousands of workers who is working in Singapore for past 11 years who travels up and down from JB to singapore via the tambak Johor bridge…
Since our new Check point was open The cause way is always jam…I am wondering whether our Malaysia goverment did any studies and survey before build the check point..there is a lot of waste space..the car caunter is vey conjusted…there is no proper bus lane along the brige..there also no pedestrain walk ..
just imagine Singapore have no land can build best and user friendly check point.. WHY IS THAT OUR MALAYSIA CHECK POINT CREATE A LOT OF INCONVINIENCE TO THE PUBLIC..DID THEY REALLY STUDY BEFORE BUILDING THE CHECK POINT..INSTEAD OF REDUCING THE TRAFFIC JAM IT HAS INCREASE THE JAM…ALREADY ONE YEAR SINCE THE CHECK POIT WAS OPEN THERE IS NO ANY IMPROVEMENT…
I THINK GOVERMENT HAS WASTE MILLIONS OF TAX PAYERS MONEY IN THIS PROJECT…
DO U THINK THE NEW NAJIB GOVERMENT CAN DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE OUR CHECK POINT SYSTEM..
We have breastfed them with water for years.
Now our child have grown up like a Swan.
Unfortunately they grow up to be an ungrateful Swines.
Minglings with our affairs via their CNA,to weakens our ruling UMNO.
Insteads of being thankful and greatful to us,
They are now drawing lines on us.
We have to be firm of this ungrateful child.
To Zulkiflee,
You are still living in History. Go and read Tun’s “The Malay Dilenma” You will understand why you think like that.
‘Hang Tuah” and “Hang Jebat” revered as heroes in Malaya were actually chinese. The original inhabitants of Malaya are the Aborigines – Negritoes, Semang etc. So you and I are pendatangs only you earlier and from Yunnan.
You seem intolerant, and not willing to live with other religions, races and nationality. Remember Singapore is a Sovereign Country and should be respected as one.
We should DEMAND a GST refund

IT is our right to demand our GST refund too,as Visitor.
This is a double standard treatment.
See how nice they are towards us,their neighbor.
Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
mohon izin mengulas komen biadap singalong.
my dear singalong, dont be so arrogant about s’pore.you are only a foreigner in our beloved nusantara.and even after a thousand generations, you are always a foreigner..the rightful owner of the land, and water,is always the Malays.read more history and if you think history is about things of the past,go get psychatric help.ownership of land is final, today’s border is not.your LKY know very well about that.that is why he correctly say and ensured if one day s’pore is gone,it absent would be felt all over the world.
your people have developed s’pore real good but sadly it is only for your own people.you people, due to your immigrant mentality, are really a bunch of selfish ingrates.your friendship dont last long, only based on calculated benefits.to you, everything is strictly business.if betrayals can benefit you,you wont hesitate to betray.
we cant blamed you people for that.we,you and me,are people of different cultures and customes, different way of thinkings, different beliefs, different moral system and above all, different religion.that is why we should never lived together in a same land,or village or estate or flat.especially now, when everyone of you are becoming more and more arrogant.
by letting your ancestors land safely into our shore,we thought we are helping you built up your lives, and then after few years when you already make some fortunes here, you sailed back to your country
and remember us as your friend.we even ready to let you stay longer, two, three or even ten generations,to make more money and then Go.but now you have shown us your true color.you are not going, you are here to stay, you want more and as LKY say,you even ready to go to war for our water…what is these? we let you land to our shore,we let you make money in our land,we even let you use one of our island as your temporary country, until the time when you feel comfortable to leave,is that not enough kindness from our part? you come here as beggars, now you act like conquerors? where is your consciences? why must you treat us like enemy? cant you be more grateful to your savior?
thank you Tun.
Royal Malaya Navy was set up in 1934,in Singapore,
to provide security for them.
Despite establishment and serving them,
We are ask to go,and we did.
If this issue is to forward to International Court OF Justice,
as in the case of Pedra Blanca,I beliefs We will still loose out.
We go to the wrong Court.Let say,if disputes matter we forward to
Middle East Court, will Singapore agree to it.We already know the answer.Falkland Island dispute between Argentina and Britain was not disputed to ICJ, as Argentina knows the end results.
So,our next issues is settled our own way.
We will recognized Middle East Court.
Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
izinkan saya mengulas komen S.Tan yg berbau perkauman.sesuai dgn nama anda, anda memang seorang yg licik dalam memutar kata-kata komen saya.saya hanya mengatakan bangsa cina telah demikian maju dgn tamadun 5000 tahun, termasuklah dalam tipu-helah politik, sebagai perbandingan kepimpinan antara bumiputra-melayu malaysia dgn kepimpinan bangsa pendatang-cina yg kini menguasai s’pura,yg penguasaan mereka itu pada mula nya dgn slogan berkongsi kuasa dgn melayu, tapi perlahan-lahan meninggalkan orang melayu dibelakang dgn cara yg amat halus, begitu berseni sekali hingga orang melayu tak terasa.tau-tau negara sudah bertukar tuan.
sebagai contoh, kenapa Jln Ampas ditutup? adakah P.Ramlee dah kehabisan idea untuk buat filem? saya tak mahu speculate.tapi kalau anda ikuti perkembangan sejarah s’pura, anda tentu dgn mudah akan faham kenapa kami, orang melayu perlu berhati-hati dalam berurusan dgn anda.
anda orang cina yg lahir di malaysia, dan atas sebab itu anda rasa berhak penuh menjadi rakyat malaysia.tapi cuba lihat semua komen anda diruang blog Tun ini, semua nya menunjukkan ketaatan sokongan dan ketakjuban semulajadi anda kpd s’pura.hingga ada kala nya saya menyangka anda ini mungkin LKY…
Encik S.Tan,saya tidak begitu mahir mengumpul data/fakta.lebih pada perasaan daripada fikiran.sekolah pun tak tinggi.lebih EQ dari IQ.bagi saya cuma ada hitam atau putih.tak ada yg samar,yg boleh di-hijau-biru-merah kan oleh kepintaran bermain alasan.jadi kepandaian anda bermain kata tidaklah akan menjejas consistency pandangan hidup saya bahwa kalau anda bukan melayu, bukan bumiputra maka anda adalah orang asing.maybe you’re malaysian or s’porean or even indonesian, but definitely you are not southeast asian.in this part of the world, you are only a foreigner.

Dear all
Who say you can change a contract at the whim of the seller? Then why signed a contract when you can suka suka changed it? This is a contract signed and lodged with the UN AND IS NOT GOVERN BY YOUR MALAYSIA LAW should we say MAS law ie mana ada system type of law. You are the laughing stock of the world. GO REFLECT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR. If the malaysian gomen think they got the right to amend it they would have done that 25 years ago.
Why wait till 2011
They increase terms of our Malaysia Base at Woodland
regardless of our old relations and understanding,
to get what they want.
We understand and move out with honor.
Time change values of land so as our water
They can,We can
Agree with Lil,s
We are not voiding the agreement.
Its not right to ask but demand the right price.
Likewise when they tremendously increase the rental of
Malaysia Armed Forces Base at Woodland, We can,t afford,
We comply and walk off, politely.Time changes price for their land,
so as our water.
Water is also our security and our right of say.
The Duty of our Minister to do it right.
and We the people have the right of say and see.
Don,t have to wait till 2011, We can do it now,
if they don,t agreed ,they have to conclude to a decision,
Like they did on our Base.
After all We have donate them long, sufficient time, till today
they can develop their own water. That,s very generous of us.
They should Thanks us not threatens us.
Why wait……
It is void to use humanitarian as a ground for our price.
Salam Tun,
Its a trade; and with any trade, there should be profit. To be fair, if Melaka buys at 30 sen from Johore, then Singapore should be paying the same price at least. Anything less is a zalim act towards the people of Melaka, and the decision maker would have to bare the burden.
Salam.

Assalamu’alaikum Tun,
saya rasa tercabar untuk menjawab satu komen dari KHALIDALWALID s’pura.tak tahu lah siapa orang ni tapi berkemungkinan dia orang melayu yg beragama Islam macam kita yg mungkin pula, besar sekali kemungkinan nya, telah terkena Stockholm Syndrome.
wahai KHALIDALWALID S’PURA,Stockholm Syndrome adalah suatu penyakit psikologi dimana mangsa tebusan berubah menjadi simpati atau menyebelahi orang yg menculik nya.otak nya tertutup tak masuk oxygen, lalu memandang baik, memberi legitimasi pada penculik nya.tapi tak kira apa pun penyakit anda,H1N1 atau B1N1,tapi jgn lah meremehkan pemimpin ulong bangsa kita.dan yg lebih penting lagi, jgn lah ikut sedap hati anda memakai gelar yg langsung tak kena dgn komen anda.Khalid al-Walid adalah Panglima umat Islam yg tiada tara nya.sedangkan diri anda sendiri siapa? Pengkagum LKY yg membuta-tuli?
terimakasih Tun.
This is quite ridiculous dont you think? RM0.03 for a THOUSAND gallons of water? The initial agreement, we have to admit, is stupid for not considering INFLATION but fine, whats done is done.
Instead of appreciating the very low cost of water they have had for half a century, Singapore now tells us they want to drink some shit water which they claim they have recycled and very clean, and tell us we’re being unfair.
Is our price of water that expensive? The agreement was made in 1961, come on, you peeps think you’re so clever, then is a simple word like “Inflation” not part of your vocab? New proposal is 30 cents, still very cheap. Teh Tarik is like “only” 500ml (well fine, include the expenses, some milk, hot water, employee wages etc.) that’s easily RM1. For the love of water, please be a bit more grateful.
Why continue with another 50 year agreement, when no profit is made? Where on earth, can someone tell me, does the price of anything, not change for 50 years, let alone another 50 years.
To be honest, this just proves how barbaric the Singaporean government are. What do you think my country is? Charity?? You want water, we give? Just because you didn’t hit us, or kill us, does not mean this is not a form of abuse. You people try to use your non-existent power to scare us. We have a lot of clean water resource ok? If you don’t want it, we always have other countries who are more than happy to buy and appreciate our water.
To singalong, as far as I am concern, every agreement can be altered, and we did not void our agreement, we are renegotiating, because times have changed. If you cant even get your facts right, please be more humble. Arrogant fools will never improve. Maybe if you were allowed to chew some gum, your small pathetic mind will be a more sane. Seriously? Register at a pharmacy? for CHEWING GUM? Don’t get me started…
Assalamualaikum Tun
For a start in this my first ever comment via this blog of yours I must admit I am not that well-versed on political issues or G to G policies. I can however say confidently that I understand very well about simple negotiations and actions when it comes to buying and selling things. The simple rule is both parties win.
I am just wondering why after such a long time this water business with our beloved wealthy neighbour is still very ‘watery’ ie nothing ‘concrete’ has come out of the many discussions held! Perhaps the saying goes right … ‘the wealthier you are the stingier you become’.
Whatever people like ‘singalong’ or some other blokes from the next block say is their prerogative. I am a proud Malaysian (just like that someone who said he/she love his/her country more) and I sincerely hope that our authorities in the establishment will be ‘strong’ enough to earn for us Malaysians a fair deal of pride when it comes to this slippery negotiation. Whoever is responsible please do not allow such a situation as this to happen…(allow me to chip in a famous Malay saying) “Kera di hutan disusukan anak di rumah mati kelaparan”.Please ensure that at the end of the we could hold our heads high knowing that this watery issue has been resolved amicably without damaging national pride!Buat baik berpada-pada.

Dear Tun, eventhough I have my personal respect to you but when it comes to the issues of water agreement and politics of my country Singapore, I will back up my country. Singapore is not about LKY eventhough you had some or more disagreement with him in the past or present. The disagreement betwen you and LKY dated back even before Singapore becomes independence. I may disagree with certain policies that my country under LKY did and i also had to disagree with certain issues that Malaysia had with Singapore. I believe that Singapore had tried their very best in wanting to solve all the outstanding issues with Malaysia in a win win situation. Due to the unhappiness in Malaysia camp with regards to the agreement, they shifted their position many times and even ended the talk. Eventhough Singapore used to be part of Malaysia, we still need each other to survive in this turmoil world. Why should we quarrel with one another over this pitiful issues when a bigger issue is out there for us to face together? Malaysians and Singaporeans, we have relatives at each other side of the countries. Is material issue so much important than our own brothers, sisters and relatives? I hope to see one day when both countries will sit down again, settle amicably all the outstanding issues and comes to a win win solution for the benefits of both countries. I love Tun Dr Mahathir but I love my country also….

Jangan asal bolih,semua bolih,kemudian merungut,salahkan orang lain.
Hidup dikeliling orang kafir memang banyak penipuan, banyak wayang.
Tak perlu ikut cara mereka,yg perlu kita wajib jaga dan
hak hak kita.Ini pun disuruh Agama.
Dayus kalau tak mampu jaga maruah, harta, tanah, kaum wanita, anak
dan hak hak kita.
Kita kurang berbincang dan sepakat, selalu buat keputusan ikut emosi.Suka bergurau dalam kehidupan, dalam perkerjaan,
sebab itulah kurang dapat penghormatan.
Perlu lihat kedepan, jangan asik pandang belakang, jangan asik cari kesalahan orang.Besok masih ada, nanti besok dah takada, baru nak kesal.
Berjimat semasa Ada,Dah takada, apa yg nak dijimatkan.
Air takda, tanah takda, duit takda, rumah takada, apabila semua dah takda, maka mula tergadailah maruah, dan hidup jadilah Pak Turut,
seperti saudara kita diseberang.Kesian Jaeloh.
Dearest YAB dan di Kasihi Tun,
Allow me to respond to the following UNGRATEFUL blogger from Singapore:
It seems the package of Singapore,Malaysia
to curb bilateral relation about
1.cost of water
2.Malaysia rights of CPF
3.the bride
4.the air space
5.KTM land or whatever soever
it seems like if Malaysia wants to have its own rights,
Malaysia have to give up certain rights from Malaysia pockets.
The deals was never mention from Singapore pocket.
Say ,If Singapore want the KTM land, Why not we exchange it with
Singapore Changi Airport or Port of Singapore Authority.
When Malaysia want to increase the price of water,
Why must Malaysia give up something that belongs to Malaysia.
It,s ridiculous,it does not make sense. It is not a proposal.
It is very funny and cunning. It is cheating.
It,s like you are using my pen, and I want it back,
does not mean I have to give you my eraser in return
for my own pen.
You want my pen you have to pay from your own pocket.
Any Child would not go for this agreement.
Singapore already say they will not renew the 1961 agreement which expires in 2011. Still want to bring this up when people no longer interested to have a new agreement.
Can’t take it that they refused to acknowledge your “ketuanan bullshit”, is it?
Read here for the true picture of what a boo boo Dr M did in his bungled negotiation.

Assalamualaikum Ayahnda Tun n Bonda.
please allow me
to ‘singalong’ n the like,
you people are so rude, ungrateful & never know how to thank others who are so good to you or appreciate what God has given to you. Malaysia has been giving you singalongs cheap clean water n yet you said its longkang water. how dare you! really2 ungrateful. i dont totally blame it on you n your like in the way you people react to your neighbours’ difficulties or hardships because it’s in your roots the ‘kiasu’, selfish, arrogance inherited from your ancestors n always think that you people are superior than others around you…if the wrath of God falls upon you people, there’s no where to hide, not even in the deepest bunker that your government has prepared for you (wonder whether you n your like will be taken into the bunker when the space is so limited! there will be inspections after inspections of your intelligence, health n capability to withstand things in critical situation…can you imagine that? scary…). tsunami, earthquakes n landslides in the neighbouring countries have proven bad consequences for ungrateful people, the worst has yet to come. before that comes, enjoy the previledge that you have never bothered to check where they come from or know how they come into existence because your government has twisted the true history of your ‘newborn’ country…
yes, we may be stupid, as you said, weak n always ‘give in’ to our neighbours though at many times our neighbour has always been ungrateful, has always been taking from us without feeling any regret or try to think n feel from our perspective as people who are been opressed, twisted and taken advantage at… you people are really opportunists. you can laugh a lot now but wait, the weak will never stay weak forever. Most of us have strong faith in God n believe God is Great. the time will come when disaster strikes on a small island like yours…anything can happen, rising sea level, tsunami, earthquake, plague n what not…you can pay your price at that time. we will help you more, dont you worry..but this time you may have to bend down n think hard how you are going to thank your good neighbour SINCERELY…
Islam is now growing all over the world. People who are once atheists, christians, freethinkers, buddhists, hindus n what not are now embracing Islam after they have researched n found the truth in Al Quran n Hadiths. Good Muslims brothers n sisters are every where…the more the west try to twist about Islam world, the more their people learn about the truth n beauty of Islam as the way of life…please do not equate Islam to terrorism. terrorism occurs in every race, every country n not seasonal…watch western movies where the authorities, police, army or special forces are sometimes potrayed as terrorists, they are above the laws.
Enough said. we are blessed with free will, a sound mind, and a heart. We Malaysians, are always good, actually…
May Allah The AlMighty bless both of you Ayahnda n Bonda. Thank you, forever…
Wassalam.
just my brain wave…
Asslamu’alaikum Tun,
terikasih Tun.
From the 103 postings No one bothered to give an accurate snapshot of the problem including Tun himself. Why concentrate on just the inaccuracies. It occurs to me the motive is to stir up the people and to make sure that the present Govt cannot have meaningful negotiations.
The cost is 3 sen. That is correct
The first agreement expires in 2011. Singapore has got intelligence that the Malaysian Govt then is not going to renew it just to bring Singapore to it’s knees. It is not about money but about jealousy and personal animosity.
In fact Tun and LKY negotiated and agreed to up the price to 45 sen but Tun raised it later to a much much higher price UNILATERALLY just to scupper the deal.
Try to understand the issue in totality. Singapore paid for the dams and infrastructure and sold treated water to Johore way above the agreed amount at greatly subsidised price. That is money. Tun knows it and that is why the revision of prices around 1987 was not done as decided by Malaysia.
Why make our heart so sad over wrong information.
Malaysia should decide whether to enter into another contract to sell to Singapore raw water at a new and fair price starting 2011. Johore will get more money.
Dear Tun,
All the water agreement

salam ayah det and mama,
i am surprised by the comment of singalong…he must be singaporean and a selfish person not thinking right..i do not really comment on the comments by others, but i think singalong is ridiculuous and knows not what he is commenting…you can do a poll and see the results..at rm0.03 cannot even buy you a sweet…whtmore a thousand gallons of raw water????? if singalong’s salary remains the same from the time he embarks in the working world, then his comments will be relevant..costs is ever escalating and it is only fair for an increase in the pricing for the treaty…malaysians are not asking for the moon but just a reasonable price for raw water supplied to singapore…wht more the singaporean government is selling raw water at SGD20 per thousand gallons to the ships…this information can be checked for its’ genuinity..thus, wouldn’t it be better for us to sell to the ships in ptp instead of getting rm0.03 per thousand gallon from singapore!!! doesn’t make sense as we had been tolerant for far too long with singapore..so pls, singalong, do not harp on this issue if you had an increase in your salary from day one you started work to meet the high cost of living nowadays..basic rules of thumb applies…
we had been on this issue of water and i wld suggest that we put our stand firmly and not be hard pressed by singapore anymore..then again, we can just turn off the tap after the expiry of the treaty..do not put humanitarian factors into this as singapore has a per capita of more than 5times of wht we have..you have to factor everything in and not just the negativities …so, i hope the singaporean government will learn to grow up and be resonable…and not be a thorn in the flesh..
that is all …i hope to get a reply from singalong..
wishing u and mama the best of health..take care and wassalam..suffian
Menteri Kesitaran Singapura,

Mustahil bin Ajaib,

Dr,
Sand? Sin gomen dont need malaysian sand anymore lah. They already sourced and started to import sand from vietnam, myamar , cambodia, laos even though its more expensive its better than dealing with you where contract signed can be null & void. Mana ada system? They also started to research on artificial sand which are called M-SAND already used for some of the construction activity in Sin lah.
Whatever you want to do, LKY already pre-empt it, you dont have a chance lah. You want to skin a lion? Beware you end up in the Singa stomach aarh!
Dear M
You knew Johore gomen buy cheap and subsidsed treated water from Sin and sell it to johoreans for high profit. johore gomen also make money by selling raw water to Sin even if it 3 sen/1000 gallon because they dont have to do anything eg daming, extraction from river, piping all paid by Sin gomen. furthurmore if Sin gomen dont buy the 3 sen water it will just flow to the sea and johore gomen will get nothing. 1malaysia people you understand all these if not please go google.
Kerajaan Malaysia..
dari ape yg sy lihat..kita xperlu sambung perjanjian air tu..cube kita imbas kembali…adakah kita dpt untung dgn jual air dgn harga 3 sen…x berbaloi..spore amik dgn kita murah..dia jual blk berkali2 ganda…cadangan sy..
nk jual air, tp dgn harga yg tinggi dan berpatutan, tp utk smab perjanjian selesaikan tentang jambatan..dan jgn sambung perjanjian lama2.. 2thn sekali perjanjian…every 2 years, samb with new rate
1Malaysia People
you guys must be illiterate and buah bodoh. Sin gomen already announced they will let the 2011 water agreement lapse once it comes along so why harping, yelping you want more than 3 sen for those polluted lokang water if not for them buying will ultimately flow to the sea.
Dont be hoodwinked by the spin doctor again. Go google and see what the actual details for the water agreement really are. Sin gomen will never ever let anyone threaten them again and be self sufficient after the doctor said potong potong and many ways to skin a cat. He got no chance not in his lifetime anyway. So at the mean time will enjoy the 3 sen for the next 50 years or so. Grow up and wake up lah.
Malaysia bodoh oops sory malalysia boleh lah
Ayahanda Tun,
I agreed with Teik Chun….. Jangan main2 dengan Kuan Yew…. You want water, pay for the right price…. Don’t want to pay current market rate, then build The Sceneric Brige to contra off the water price increment deal… period. Sand, sorry No Sand Lah because Singapore is a country and it’s independent from Malaysia, and DAP Roket is in-considerate and cannot differentiate the relationship between Taiwan ROC and Hong Kong to mainland China…. because they only know Reject and Korek…. they know nothing about govern-ment. And TS Koh Tsu Khoon has to work harder, and please stop playing the China’s communist sentiment in Malaysia to win the Chinese votes lah..
Tengku Razaleigh and YB Sharir Samad would be able to assist…. if PM Najib wants to see KPI’s Idris Jala could walk its talk.. If PM Najib does not allow, then PM Najib will be “ngap” by Anwar’s campaign for RM1 by trumpeting corruptions and wrongdoings due to Mei 13 & OOps Lalang 1987 to win over Chinese votes !!!
Chinese and other races of today do not believe in marriage by convenience for the sake of Nama saja.. they want is long term and secured accomodation for the future, and they are the rightful citizens of Malaysia of the country.. they are not the Permanent Status Residence.. be considerate lah BN, no more BUMI here NON-BUMI there.. to sustain growth.. if BN want to be relevant in next PRU…
Good day Ayahanda Tun.
Agreed
Humanitarian reasons is NOT a price factor for water.
Water is also our natural resources, likewise rubber, timber, etc.
It is our rice bowl.
It is a commercial item where price is determine by demand, supply.
Water are more precious than oil yet we sell at no value.
We did not sell them by barrels, nor inhumanly restrict their usage,as to meet a higher price.
Several BIG pipes that deliver to their doorsteps.
We even allow them use our land in Johor to secure their water.
Yet again they want our KTM land in Singapore.
Water is a commercial value product.
Humanitarian comes to picture IF only Singapore has disaster,
likewise when we help Indonesia disaster, Not just water, medical,
food or whatever of our means. We will do it for Free out of humanitarian, sincerity and a good neighbor.
They spent billions on their military capabilities,
Water their basic needs for their own people,
they need our humanitarians,compassionate grounds.
What are their weapons meant for.
jangan sambung water agreement expired on 2011.
UNLESS:
Able to pay for RM(reasonable rate for treated or untreated water)/gellon for the new contact and revise for the same tarif for the one expired on 2060. The price for both agreement must be reviewed within (reasonable period)year.
Otherwise…
Jangan Sambung…..
This issue…rayat Malaysia tunggu…as one of the KPI for DS Najib and existing goverment.
Jangan main-main dengan itu LKY….
Should stop selling water to Singapore if loss. This is for benefit of malaysian.
I love this neighborhood, but this one neighbor really really ellling fish.
Selfish.
Stink.
Thank you.
To sell water cheap as to of no value, for humanitarian reasons,
is NOT a reason,it is a lame,stupid reasons.
We are not mean as not to give them water.
We are no evils. There are price for oil, price for everything.
World Globalize in commercial transactions,as in $$$ and make sense.
Middle East is oil rich, water poor, and water is more valuable than oil,yet we sell cheap.
We buy Western Technology in exchange with our natural resources like rubber, palm oil, etc.Water is also our valued resources. It is not meant for free.It should be a Commercial Valued product.
Humanitarian grounds to determine the price of water is unacceptable to now economy,it is void.Unless if they face natural disaster, then it is our duty as human and good neighbor,to help with sincerity.
We are dealings with a proud, rich neighbor. Most wealthy nation.
No debts like us, undeclared reserves $$$$.

Dear Tun,
I propose Malaysia should not continue the 1st agreement with S’pore because:
1. Malaysian population is growing 4-5 times greater than S’pore.
2. Singaporean are living or overstaying in Malaysia.
3. They have 2nd agreement till 2060, so we are not that cruel if we stop supplying 1st agreement.
4. Malaysia need more water to cater industrialization demand and improve quality of people’s life.
5. Clean water is expensive nowadays, so if Singapore is willing to continue, sell at more than S$5 per gallon (considering their per capita income is 5 times greater than M’sia).
6. Malaysia is low income economy as compared to Singapore, so they should use their income to purchase water from other countries, or process sea water.
7. Singapore do not want to build the scenic bridge and allow Malaysian ports in peninsular to prosper.
8. Because Singapore is so kiasu.
9. Because Singapore is not grateful to Malaysia all these years, and keep on winning on everything by hook or by crook. Even asked their citizen to litter in Malaysia!
10. and many more other reasons, be it logical or not…..
Singapore should be grateful, because without Malaysia – they were not able to prosper as what they have achieved now.
Ayahanda Tun,
Just a piece of news from The Star Online regarding Obama’s visit to Shanghai meeting Mr Hu JinTao. Shanghai so far is the only city which opens to U.S.A. The people in Shanghai are more western and open-minded than those of Beijing and State levels. According to my husband in Hong Kong, bloggers who criticised the State governments are caught and may be charged for their strong critics in courts. Authocratic controls in Freedom of speech and human rights are preferred by China’s war mongers, and Chinese in China are not religious. The main stream news are pretty tight controlled by Mao Zedong’s team, that is Hu JinTao.
From Hu’s and his teams’s reaction,I guess China’s politics, economics and social landscapes are still in vulnerable “Budak” stage, after this economic crisis.
Shanghai, Singapore and Hongkong would be the watchdogs for USA and Asia relationship in many years to come.

Obama in China faces tensions on trade and Tibet
By Caren Bohan
SHANGHAI (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama faces tensions with China over trade and Tibet on his first visit to the emerging superpower for a summit that will grapple with economic imbalances and the future of the yuan.
U.S. President Barack Obama steps off Air Force One as he arrives at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai November 15, 2009. The Chinese characters read: “China Eastern Airlines”. (REUTERS/Jim Young)
Obama arrived in Shanghai, China’s commercial hub, late on Sunday to torrential rain and is due to meet city officials and hold a town hall-style meeting with young people before heading to Beijing later on Monday.
Chinese state-run Internet sites have asked the public for suggested questions to quiz Obama with at the youth meeting, and many urged him to explain any plans to meet the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan leader whom Beijing scorns as a “separatist.”
These events will be a warm-up for Obama’s summit with President Hu Jintao in the national capital on Tuesday that will cover trouble-spots such as North Korea and Iran, and efforts to forge a new climate pact.
Obama has said he will also raise the sensitive subjects of human rights, and sometimes tense trade ties and China’s yuan currency, seen by U.S. industry as significantly undervalued and stoking unsustainable global economic imbalances.
“The president will be talking about balanced, strong sustainable growth and the policies that go into making that happen,” a U.S. official told Reuters, though added they did not expect any tension over recent trade spats.
“We’ve had very good meetings with them around a variety of issues. We have a deep and broad economic relationship with them.”
At a gathering of Asia-Pacific leaders in Singapore over the weekend, Hu pointedly ignored international calls for his government to help ease those imbalances by raising the value of the yuan, making Chinese exports relatively more expensive.
He and other senior Chinese officials have instead accused other countries — implicitly including the United States — of embracing damaging trade protectionism aimed at Chinese goods.
Obama’s meetings with China’s leaders are unlikely to yield any big policy shifts on the diplomatic and economic problems facing the two big powers, said Drew Thompson, an expert on China at the Nixon Center in Washington, D.C.
“This isn’t a trip about deliverables,” Thompson told reporters in Beijing, where he was visiting. “It’s a trip about staying the course, keeping the two ships on the same course and not letting them bump into one another.”
SHARP JABS OR SOFT STROKES
Having already made their gripes clear before the summit, Obama and Hu may avoid sharp public jabs as they focus on building goodwill.
Obama has cast his visit as an effort to win trust from a government and a public often wary of U.S. intentions towards the rising Asian superpower and world’s third biggest economy.
The United States welcomed Beijing’s growing global role and “does not seek to contain” it, Obama said in a tone-setting speech on Asian policy in Tokyo on Saturday.
But nearly 80 percent of Chinese respondents who answered an online survey said the United States did not want to see their country rise, the Chinese magazine, Globe, reported last week.
Ben Rhodes, a White House communications official, told reporters with Obama that the Shanghai meeting would be streamed over the White House website (www.WhiteHouse.gov).
It appeared China would not fulfil U.S. hopes for the session to be broadcast nationwide on Chinese television. Officials wanted to show it only on a local Shanghai service, said Richard Buangan, a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, who was in Shanghai for the President’s arrival.

Dear YB Tun,
We should/must highlight this matter to present Government (Ours truly PM) so that all the negotiations to be held on the first agreement which to be expired on 2011 should/must to be made public/transparent. All the terms to be proposed by our “generous and respected” neighbour also should be made public. Rakyat consensus should be obtained before any decision to be made by our government.
We do not want any hidden agenda by any person. If we continue to fail or at disadvantegous position, I do not know what to say. We have time to make preparation or to carry out research (financial/operational). Jangan jadi macam Batu Putih, preparation sambil lewa (Of which the government official had the guts to admit it).
Regards,
Greetings again Tun,
I hope this finds you and your family in good health.
I agree with points 1 and 2. Pahang would be VERY reluctant to sell to Selangor at that price. Irrespective of what Johore will ask from Singapore I think having Selangor buy it at a reasonable price will allow for easier renegotiation on water prices with our neighbor.
Being charitable? Yes. But not raising prickly issues? That has always been a major no-no in my book. If things have to be done, they have to be done. Or said. A lot of these “prickly issues” fester because no one just comes out and say “Yes, we did this. we pissed you off. We’re sorry. Can we move on?” Instead they hide behind fake courtesies and smile at each other.
We should maintain as best we can what good relationship we have with our immediate neighbors. Some of us live there and some of them live here. The common man does not care for the spat between their governments. He just tries his best to cari makan.
On our former premier…he just wasn’t the right man for the job. I shall speak no ill of him. He was a sapling compared to your oak.
Sell water to Singapore but revise the prices. I’m sure with their PCI they can afford to pay a reasonable price for water. Pahang will sell to Selangor at a reasoble price and that will be a good guideline for how much it should cost.
Water like petroleum is our national resource and ought to be protected, not to mention well taken care off. The quantities are not unlimited and I believe at one stage in the future, water can and will be scarce – I saw from my own eyes how the villagers in Sudan were drinking muddy water since they had not received clean water from the goverment for more than two weeks then. We have to protect these resources for the benefit of the future generations of Malaysians.
We did a good job to ensure that our petroleum extracted by foreign entities within our boundaries, a huge chunk of them gets rooted back to the goverment and to the people with the advent of PSCs. Can’t we exercise the same careful jurispudence on our water issue as well?
I am sure we have some talented and educated lawyers that can represent Malaysia terms well when negotiating with Singapore. If no one can do it, I would volunteer even though I am just a dumb roughneck on the rig!!
Salam hormat.

Assalamualaikum Tun Yang Amat Dihormati,
Tun, you’re the best leader in Malaysia.

4.bak kata Tun lah, something fishy…Hopefully Dato Najib take wise action.
Salam Tun,
salam Tun,
just curious at your point no 4..
“4. The other treaty would end by 2060 in which the price is also 3 sen per thousand gallons. But without the 350 million gallons daily according to the first treaty, Singapore’s rapidly increasing population of new immigrants would not have enough water.”
Does that mean after 2011, there is not commitment how much we need to supply? Then, technically… i would suggest we supply 1 gallon a month!
as a rakyat i don’t mind subsidizing Singapore until 2060 @ 1 gallon/month
WIN WIN
opposite meaning of Win is Lose
When one win the other lose
So if one win win, the other will definitely, lose lose

I hope the banana plant won’t bear fruits twice again Tun. The Lost of Pulau Batu Putih which had made us ‘berputih mata’ still haunts me. I hope there are some improvements on Banana Island or Pulau Pisang status. I hope it won’t end up like Pulau Batu Putih, since the Singaporean do have their light house over there. Governing them of course. Tolerance has a limit. Don’t break it for the Malays.
Y.A.Bhg Tun,
Cukoplah Tun. Tak usah dok sebut nama Pak Lah lagi. Dia pun dah bersara.
Berbilion wang negara dah habis.
Kita tanggoh dulu. Buat apa pening kepala sekarang. Bila kita kuat nanti maka kita cuba bincang semula.
Upama mengundang penjelajahan
ke bumi Malaysia.Dah banyak tanah Melaysia tergadai dan kelihatan penduduk Malaysia dah banyak pun Cina Singa mahu pun Cina CHINA
yg di import dari Singapura.Lambat laun mereka masuk arena politik
habislah UMNO.Di BATAM sudah kelihatan ciri ciri mereka masuk arena politik yg bermula dari economy.
2.Meritocracy yg dinamakan Singapura membawa masuk ramai orang
Sudahlah sempit, terhempit lagi.
3.Dek mengejarkan Globalization, perlukah kita bertarung tanah kita.
Yg tak bersedia relax sua, nanti anda kerugian sebab anda belum bersedia, nanti banyak lagi yg bakal tergadai,
Tak payah ikut ikutan.
4.Alangkah baik kita bawa masuk orang Islam dari Indonesia,Bangladesh ,Iran yg saya rasa lebih abdal
untuk umah Islam yg tertindas sekarang
Dear Tun Dr. Mahathir,
I am RROOSSLLAANN, I understand your meaning and I agree with you also. Friend is friend but Business is business. i have many friends but when go to business, 10 sen also calculated. I have many friends that willing to “BELANJA” water (drinks), but not all the time can “BELANJA”. May i suggest a polls or EGM (Example: Do Malaysian agree to sell water with current market and revised every 2 years) for “Water issue”. In my opinion, we can not lost again, and we have to re-collect the long time losses with a new price. Their new generation and next generation have to pay our previous losses if they want it. If they do not want, they can buy bottled RO at Johor Bahru.
I hereby advise coming GOVERNMENT 2011, pls handle “Water issue” carefully and properly. We are watching you.
Thank you.
Regards
RROOSSLLAANN
Dear Tun, salam mesra harap sihat sejahtera. Kiriman saya dgn izin….
…………..CHARITY OR BUSINESS
I sell you bamboo in the jungle (which you must extract yourself) at 3 sen and buy back rattan (includes delivery) at 50sen is called charity! So is selling rubber and buying tyres?
…………..WEALTH OR WEAPON
Water that will otherwise flow to the sea should be an economic resource or economic weapon? Blessed source of income or source of sanction?
We should treat it as a natural resource like rubber which we sell, or a weapon to cow others? Palestine cannot be forced to submit with a full blockade of power, water, medicine and other goods. 350mil gal of water can twist the arm of a sovereign govt?
Even oil (non renewable resource) cannot be used to intimidate, what of water which can recycle, renew and replenish? Jgn fikir air masin tanda berada di laut besar.
…………..MOTHER OF INVENTION
Necessity is the mother of invention. I fear our eagerness to secure ‘payback’ will push S’pore to other countries (Thailand, Indon) or other sources (water catchment projects).
M’sia is the only country in the world blessed enough that somebody wants to buy its water. Hope we don’t shoot our own feet with arrogance.
We have benefitted Thailand and Indonesia with Proton, are we doing the same with water?
WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE BUT NOT A DROP TO DRINK
Like a 19th century sailing ship wallowing helplessly without wind in mid ocean, Singapore is surrounded by water yet dying of thirst. For a nation as rich and as technologically advanced as Singapore it is shameful to be so dependant on Malaysia for such a basic need as fresh water.
It resorts to legally but shamelessly stealing water from Malaysia at 3 cents per thousand gallons. Even more degrading is watching Singapore reprocess human urine and trying to convince its population to drink the NEWater, as if the nation were a spacecraft, forced to recover every last drop of water.
It is long past time for Singapore to GO NUCLEAR to cheaply desalinate ocean water and at the same time generate its electricity without depending on imported oil, gas and coal. Singapore scientists have accepted that solar and wind power is a joke for running an industrial nation. Now its scientists are exploring an underground nuclear reactor. Clearly, it is time for Singapore to listen to its scientists and make the political decision and join its ASEAN partners, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar, who are taking their first steps to go nuclear.
Asean nations with nearly 10% of the world
The Culture Of Compromise.
When we embarked to do anything normally, we tend to be anxious and ambitious. It is normal to do it overboard and excessive. We got so overwhelmed that we did not compromises or making too much compromises.
Our country is multiracial. At the beginning compromises were made to set things up correctly. Compromises have to be made to make the ball rolling. Compromises at the beginning is definitely the right thing to do.
Of course compromises make a lot people happy. When people are happy they can focus on something else which is important, like working and working to develop country. Definately, compromises induces some degree of peace.
The Idea is
The problem with this country is that ever since, excessive compromising has become the solution and culture. There were and are too many compromises being made. When you make too many compromises, important agenda is very difficult to roll off, difficult to do and some time has to be abandoned. When there are too many compromises, we lose the sight of the right thing that has to be done. We are so swap to entertain a lot of parties and the kind of compromises have to be made that we do not quite enough argue what is the right thing to do.
The correct way is that to figure out the right thing to do first then figure out what is the compromises that need to be made to ensure that the agenda goes through accordingly but not at the expense of abandoning and ourselves losing too much.
So it the case of water, we should question what is the right thing to do. We are to come up with the answer and only then figure out the compromises that we need to make, without compromising or abandoning the right thing to do.
The thing is if you make too many compromises over a long period of time environment will always and eventually deteriorate. The time will come that we have to make a harsh call or else we will lose it all.
Since we have developed and having the culture of making too many compromises, I like to draw our attention to situation of the country. The reason I bring out the issues is just to trigger everyone to think.
The first scenario, the government has the obligation to drive the country forward in term of economics, moral, thinking and many other aspects and disciplines. If they do not drive all these things forward they will lose the confident of the people.
The second scenario, the government or the ruling party has to really revamp the political parties that it becomes relevant, stable and produces quality leaders that will lead the country forward. Most of the leaders may not be relevant anymore and should be replaced. They are there not focusing on the people or the country anymore, they are there to take care of their legacy and position only. If they are not replaced, the government will also lose the confident of the people.
But the thing is if they are replaced there will definitely be havoc and instability in political parties. The coming election will definitely will be in jeopardy.
The fact that we have to face is that we are running out of time and we are at the cross road. We have to make a turning soon. The government is to make the decision and cannot be so hopeful that things are going to be ok. If they do not realise this fact and decide to ignore it, one day they will regret and found out that they have lose it all.
It is difficult issue but unfortunately the time has come to make the harsh decisions and it is so difficult to make the right compromise now, for we have arrived at the crossroad. May God have mercy on us.
Ask Singapore to call for open tender. Even if we don’t get it, let them pay.
Tun
this is quite funny as Tun Abdullah was Foreign Minister during your administration and he did your bidding, which would mean if there was something to do about the water business, it would have been done in your time. Pls agree you had 22 years to put the whole water issue to bed …Tun Abdullah had 5, and for most part he was evaluating all your extended decisions…
You keep bringing up this water contract but never one to say where your administration failed to renegotiate? Why harp on Tun Abdullah? Tell us, what is your actual bone of contention? Its ok to admit Tun if you felt Tun Abdullah offended you when he took over as PM, but to pin the water and this and that on someone who had less than 25% of yout time in the power seat looks a to be a cheap shot…
Ravi
Dearest YAB Tun,
Review the water price so that it is more REALISTIC and REASONABLE. The price must be right.
Tell Singapore,
Salam Tun;
*******KENAPAKAH KITA SERING MENGALAH DENGAN SINGAPURA. BUKAN SOAL AIR SAJA TETAPI BANYAK PERKARA*****
Tun;
What a waste of resources we have….
Government shud act now….
RM 0.30 cent rather than Sing 0.30
Humanitarian feeling is good but need to have win2 situation.
increase to RM 0.30 and reduce the amount of tax payers. It will sounds good to Government
We lose 10 times if we still remain 3cents. We should not lose anymore
Salam Tun.
3 sen till 2060?. you might as well give it FOC and take out all mathematics subject from all school and university. Susah2 belajar math benda mudah macamni pun tak tau kira….
Soalannya, masa zaman Tun dulu.. (22 tahun memerintah), apa Tun buat?
Wassalam.
Salam Tun,
Jangan nanti dah sampai 2011 baru nak gelabah fikir apa nak buat. I’m positive Singaporean had figured out what to do or how to do to get another cheap water from us..
To PM Najib and MB Ghani,
Hopefully you two have read this and you better come up with a brilliant plan. Starting now…tu, apa citer kes rumah api di Pulau Pisang tu, itu hari bukan main berdentam-berdentum bila Pulau Batu Putih dapat kat Singapore, sekarang nie..senyap jer…kita nie jangan la action base on sentiment, because we will becoming weak during crisis..no action, talk only…itu pun bila dah terkena…
To Tun,
Take care of yourself well, cause I care about you..
Wasalam
Ahyah, you Malaysia Govt so lembek one lah,
Everytime with S,pore Govt kena main.
Next agreement you want to charge, charge lah
S,pore Govt want something from you,of course,
they baik baik with you,lah.
After they get what they get, you buat bodoh lah.
Their newater is just an experiment and a study, using
their own people as guinea pig, once they got the technology
they will sell this technology to middle east, make more money lah.
Also they are not stupid like you, newater is their
bargaining instrument for them to tell you that without your
water they can survive. It is just a bargaining instrument to fool you again.Ahyah, you so bodoh. You are not rich, again you want to help, rich nation like Singapore. You yaya like papaya. Now everything must count even the use of your land for their water usage or what also must count. How to feed your own people if everything you give face to people, that,s why your UMNO is weak.
You got to be mean to be good,Bro…
Don,t play play.This time must serious one,ah
Ok Bro, assalamualaikum.
Water is life. Water is Allah’s gift to us. Should we trade it?
Yes and no! If the lack of water is going to cause lost of lifes we must not sell it. However, if it is used for pursuing wealth it must be traded. If it is used to subjugate we must not sell it.
In the instance of Singapore’s purchase of water from Johor, it can be classisifed in the second catagory, it can be traded.
In any trading situation – supply and demand forces plays a very important role. In the equation are the reselling of treated water and other factors.
The people preparing for the negotiations of the First Agreement, they MUST think like businessman as I am sure their Singapore counterpart will be.
What is the goal of a businessman when approaching such negotiaions?
Keep emotions out of it. Keep national interest as reference but you always want to BEST deal from it.
Get the Best Lawyers and advisors for this job, Tuns name must figure amongst them.
All the Best to the negotiating team.
salam Tun,
Prosper thy neighbour but at what expense?Make good friends?
We must never forget that Singapore was ‘not a good friend of ours’* during the 97 Asian financial crisis.
I say we must be smart negotiators when dealing with our neighbours as they are always poised to take advantage of any situation at any time.
Oh and by the way, revive back the Jambatan Indah project! And the government should concentrate to help PTP become a worthy competitor to PSA.PTP certainly has the potentials and had given PSA a mighty fright before.
We must strive to better our economic standing and we actually can be a better neighbour by being a serious competitor.

Salam buat Ayahanda..
1. Seronoknya duduk kat Singapura, air hampir percuma dari sumbernya. Cukai kereta murah sebab jual air sahaja, kerajaan untung ratusan juta.
Jadi, kita kena tanggung la sikit beban dia. Kita ni kan jiran yang baik hati lagi bodoh.
3. Orang Selangor/K.L lagi untung – air mentah kena beli dari Pahang dan saluran paip pindahkan air pun kerajaan kena bayar (pinjam duit dari Jepun) tapi air dapat free. (Nak guna banyak, cari jalan pecahkan meter dua tiga dan gabung balik.. Agaknya la. Kalau marah, nanti tak nak undi lagi..)
4. Kalau proses Newater tu pun, dia tetap kena ambil air gantian kerana susutan sebelum tuaian-semulanya tinggi. Loji nyah-garamnya, kos pengeluaran tinggi. Tapi tak apa, lepas tu dia cukaikan rakyatnya lagi sikit – mungkin atas cukai kereta, macam kita buat kat sini (untuk tampung belanja pembangunan).
Salam TUN,
Sekian wassalam
Tun seems very capable of keeping in touch with many important issues. The present government should retain Tun as a senior minister to give further and continuous positive impact to our future as a nation. Tun possess the right spirit and attitude as well as an uncanny far sighted vision that is rare to find among us.
Redhuan D. Oon
Salam Tun,
Salam Tun.
Dear Tun,
The most sensible thing to do is to sell them treated water at market price after 2011. Just take over their dams and water treatment plants in Johor now operated by Singapore’s PUB (Public Utilities Board) upon the expiry (2011) of the 1st water agreement. Singapore has been living off our misery for far too long. Hope Najib will be firm on this issue. Otherwise, he is the same as AAB. Behaving just like a guru besar sekolah rendah – standing in front of his officers under the sun every 1st Monday of the month at Putrajaya for a few hours talking nonsense…
Salam YBhg Tun
It’s difficult to judge how well we have negotiated the agreement with singapore without knowing the underlying factors surrounding the issue.
Whatever are the factors, apparently we have been bullied again and again on numerous occasions and other issues – this is difficult to comprehend. Are we poor negotiators, or are we at a poor bargaining position or we are simply too charitable and been taken advantaged of. Or there may be other reasons.
It’s time we come clean and truly protect our own interests. No more being bullied and no more trade-offs or whatever. If we can’t negotiate then don’t negotiate. If we look at the law of supply and demand, then we should be getting a much better price. I hope we really get serious and start thinking of getting a better deal.
Wishing you and Tun Dr Hasmah in the best of health always
Tun Tidoq hadri hadri takut S’pore serang kalau Malaysia tak bagi ayak! buat apa charge 3 sen kalau nak buat baik, bagi free lagi bagoi.
Dear Tun, salam bahagia moga sejahtera. Kiriman saya untuk tajuk ini…..

Salam Tun yg dikasihi,
1NASIB BAIK SATU PERJANJIAN AIR AKAN TAMAT PADA 2011, TETAPI YG 2060 TU AGAK BERAT SIKITLAH. MENGAPA BOLEH JADI BEGITU LAMA SESUATU PERJANJIAN ITU BERKUAT KUASA?
2SINGAPURA TELAH BANYAK MEMPERMAIN DAN MENCABAR KITA. KITA TAK PERLU BERSAHABAT DAN BERBAIK DENGAN MEREKA. MASIH INGATKAH KITA BAGAIMANA MEREKA MEMPERMAINKAN KITA MENGENAI TERMA PERJANJIAN AIR? -SEMAKAN HENDAKLAH DIBUAT PADA HARI PERTAMA BILA TIBA MASANYA- MEREKA PANDAI UNDANG-UNDANG, MACAM KAPAL SING.
3SAYA TAK PASTI BETUL ATAU TIDAK- BILA LORI-LORI KONTENA PENUH DENGAN BUAH DURIAN THAILAND, KULITNYA PERLU DIBUANG DI JOHOR, ISINYA SAHAJA YG BOLEH MASUK KE SINGAPURA. MEREKA MEMANG CERDIK.
4MASIHKAH PASIR DARI NEGARA KITA DIHANTAR KE SANA? HARAMKAN SAMA SEKALI. BIAR DIA IMPORT PASIR DARI AMERIKA LATIN, BARU DIA TAHU.
5BAHAN MAKANAN DARI MALAYSIA TAK PERLU DIHANTAR KE SINGAPURA, BIAR DIA DAPAT BEKALAN DARI USA, KITA TAK PERLUKAN TUKARAN WANG MEREKA.

Salam Tun;
End.
Salam kasih dan salam hormat Ayahanda Tun. I think Singapore is well past rationalizing beyond 2011, I am pretty sure that Singapore is way ahead of us at the bargaining table already. What is Singapore? Gay parades? Gay joints? Topless car-wash? A state of oppressed and systematic elimination of Malays and Islam? Failed night time F1? Just what is Singapore? Singapore is simply Lee Kuan Yew. The master of shrewdness, the Chief Operating Officer of Kiasuism, The grand old kengkang himself: H.E Lee Kuan Yew IS Singapore – north to south and coast to coast and all in a stone throw away. Who is Lee Hsien Loong? Would the heavily subsidized golden boy last beyond LKY and 2011? What is next? I think it is going to be that bankrupted opposition leader and his ways after this. I think its going to be PAS & JI spill over into Singapore Muslimhood. I think LHL would be needing a good family size jet on standby at Changi just like the Duvaliers, just incase things gets nasty beyond PAP grasp after LKY heavenly exit. Iskandar

Sabah unveils RM3.3bil budget for 2010
By MUGUNTAN VANAR
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah unveiled an RM3.3bil budget for 2010 with a thrust towards eradication of poverty, conservation and people-centric infrastructure development projects.
Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman in unveiling the budget at the state assembly Friday said that the budget was seriously committed to carrying out development and to bringing about progress to the State as well as to the people at large.
He said the overall thrust of the budget was to strengthen state finances, improve public sector delivery system and productivity, enhancing development and infrastructures as basic amenities and human capital development and improve rural development programmes to ensure quality of life and poverty eradication.
In tabling the deficit budget, he said that the budget proposed to spend RM3,304.38mil in 2010 though they expected a lower revenue of RM3,127.65mil for 2010.
He said the state revenue would see a drop to below RM100mil from forestry for the first time in 37 years but expected a revenue of RM962.48mil from state sales taxes on oil palm and lotteries among others while royalties from petroleum was estimated to be around RM724mil.
The state was also expecting RM544mil from proceeds of the issuance of Sabah bonds for its revenue among other sources of revenue including land premiums.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Bagaimana agaknya penjelasan Anwar Ibrahim menghadapi isu Singapura agaknya jika mereka berjaya memerintah Malaysia?
ikhlas,

Hello again Tun,
What to do Tun… Nak potong air to S’pore nanti sekutu depa yg besaq2 tu buat hal dgn kita plak. Nanti tak pasai2 masalah lain plak yg. mai. Klau ikut sejarah air, kita ni asyik mengalah je dgn S’pore. Mengalah sebab kesian. Satu dunia pun dah tau…
S’pore ni akai takdak, maruah pun takdak. Di Malaysia 3 sen senang2 bleh jumpa dlm parit. Ish!!! sakit hati bila teringat masalah air Malaysia-Singapore! Konon depa nak tunjuk kat dunia depa terror! Piraah!
Tun, lupakanlah pasal hal air dgn S’pore ni. Memang takda kesudahan. Depa ni mcm budak2. Depa nak air murah bagi pi lah. Kita bagi air byk2 sampai satu hari S’pore tu tenggelam. Kita bg air kat S’pore, Tuhan limpahkan minyak kat kita. Tuhan maha kaya, maha adil! Tapi besok2 ni jgn plak buat deal bg S’pore minyak 3 sen seliter plak…
Tun, bila Najib nak buat jambatan bengkok tu? Buta perut!
Ok Tun. Hope 2 hear fr u soon. Take care!

What Malaysia needs are intelligent policy makers with foresight and wisdom. Unfortunately, there is not even one person in the government who can negotiate like a statemen with Singapore. It is insulting and offensive to me as a Malay to see Singapore getting off so lightly in terms of payment for our water and other Malaysian states are made to pay more for the same water!
There is no one within the Malaysian foreign office qualified enough to deal with Singapore.
Dear Tun Dr M,
The financial blunders and abuse of power (came to lime light lately) by the politicians (both ruling and opposition)and the high ranking public servants gives a bad picture of the government and its machinery.
I have a hunch that the above are merely the tip of the iceberg. This need to be stopped immediately and the guilty should be severely punished. If other wise it would erode the public and international trust on Malaysia and its economy.
It is quite sad that there are some politicians and heads of government departments make decisions on political and selfish lines. We could sense that quite a number of them are not honest, accountable and god fearing.
Malaysia could sustain its economy only and only if it cleans up its mess in its closets as soon as possible. This is another task awaiting for our prime minister YAB Najib.
salam,
Tun selalu dalam doa saya
saya peminat setia tun.
I question why this is being brought up now. Singapore has said that they would let the 1st water agreement lapse in 2011. Since Malaysia feel that the water price is unfair, and Singapore is happy to let the agreement lapse, isn’t this win-win? If Singapore does not have enough NEWater after 2011, that is Singapore’s own doing, right? Seems like someone is trying to flog a dead horse, yet again.
Anyway, I am glad that Malaysia has refuse to extend the 2011 agreement. it is good for both countries. Singapore can also learn to be self sufficient.
It is important to remind people that an agreement is an agreement (is an agreement). Learn to accept it. Chose your leaders wisely.
Sayangi Malaysia,jagai Malaysia,hormati Malaysia.
Pertahankan Malaysia.
Hidup Malaysia.

The thing is, I am sure they are willing to negotiate, stop thinking the Singaporeans are bad people. It’s just the way you want to negotiate that matters.
If I want to sell my product to someone, I have to be polite of course, if not who the heck wants to buy my product?
So, it’s a waste to demonise the SIngaporeans, yes, we can be friends, I do not generalise like some people.
So come 2011, Malaysian gov and Singaporean gov should sit down and discuss about the new selling price. I’m sure they are willing to pay for the right price.
My question is though, when the contract was signed, which PM agreed to the price 3 sen per thousand gallons? I dont think it was TDM or Pak Lah (still angry with the scrap of the bridge eh?).
So enough talking about the same old damn thing. Look forward. Be professional. Singapore is not our enemy. Just because you hate Lee Kuan Yew, stop influencing others to join you hating them.
I don’t hate people as a whole or community or a country. I will only hate someone as an individual, regardless of nationality, races, religions, color, etc.
I know you won’t approve this comment coz you didn’t approve mine for your last post.
well…singapore will continue buy from Malaysia at Rm0.03 per thousand gallons of water…sand…& air space which at the end..
we will be proud of becoming singaporean… well even our people like to praise singaporean more than the malaysian itself..:P
Tun Dr Mahatir yang teramat mulia lagi dikasihi
If Pak Dol & Co are on the negotiating table, very likely Singapore may get water from Malaysia for free, based on humanitarian grounds. After that, ‘tahu sama tahulah!’.
Thank you.
Singapore
Dan… kalau Singapura tidak setuju dengan syarat baru tu, they should find other alternative le. In any games only idiot tells his strategy to the opponent, and Malaysia shouldn’t be that idiot…not any of Her citizens should be that idiot, in particulars those who involved in the discussion/meeting to decide on the new condition/provision of the renewal. Bear in mind Singapore has already set-up their strategy to negotiate this long ago, and if we are weak, we will be easily being bought by them. Only put tough negotiator for the negotiation. Identified any loopholes that can be used by Singapore(in particular those issues related to legal and human right)sebab issue sebegini easily manipulated by the receivers than the givers. Be highly objectives in the demands supported with strong justifications, bukan sekadar ada arguments saja. Nanti kalah lagi macam kes Batu Putih.
Method and modus operandi must be clear to everyone that involved, takdalah bercelaru masa negotiate nanti. In essence, whoever involved shouldn’t take it easy, cepat rasa menang bila syarat-syarat yang zahir menyebelahi kita. Bagi orang yang sangat memerlukan, they will look into all avenues to get what they want and Singapore surely desperate on this issue, they won’t leave a single stone unturned. We need to do the same and much more.
selamat berbincang.
Wasallam.
Dr. Jagento
Salam Tun,
Our present leader should think/do something about it…how can we tolerate with this kind of thing…enough is enough.
http://penjagaananak.blogspot.com/
Assalammualikum Tun,
1. Once the first agreement ended in 2011, we should not supply water to Singapore anymore. Let all the agreement ended then only we negotiate even if it means we have to wait untill 2060.
2. If Malaysia / Singapore agrees to renew the first contract on “humanitarian” reason, then we need to set the price as follow: first 5 years at RM0.60 per thousand gallon, second 5 years at RM1.20 per thousand gallon and 3rd (final)5 years at RM1.80 per thousand gallon.
3. The recommended price above is reasonable consider we have lost billions of useful income to the country since we started supplying water to Singapore many years ago.
4. Should Singapore refuse to pay, then they can find an alternate source of fresh water.
Dear Tun,
I think you are not updated on the latest progress in Singapore.
I had visited Singapore in August 2009. I was told by my singapore colleague that the Singapore Government had proposed to build a water pond at the downstream of Singapore River. The water in water pond will be treated for domestic usage when the project complete. When i visited that area, the construction work is in progress.
I believe this is their contingency plan if Malaysia Government do not extend the water agreement before 2011, which i hope too.

YABhg Tun
Judging from the very, very warm, grand and glorious receptions that were bestowed to Uncle Lee by the M’sian political governing and opposing biggies and kings during his visit here recently, guess the answer is written on the wall already where the sale of our H2O to them is concerned. Our negotiators will be outmanoevred and outclassed yet again.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
The great nation of our not only subsidies water to singapore but fuel to singaporean car when entering Malaysia with a low toll rate too. I wonder how long can we go on like this? It is a different case when we, Malaysian enter singapore, we have to pay all sorts of craps in order for our cars to enter.
I hope that the government of our can do something in order to benefit our country revenues like reevaluate the current water costs and also the fuel price for foreign registration cars.
Anyhow Tun I wish you the best of luck and may Allah bless us all. Aminnn….
Thanks a lot for keep on publish my thinking to this blog, TUn. salam sejahtera.
Klu tak silap, era pemerintahan Tun, kedengaran perkataan, Tolong jiran kita macam tolong kita sendiri.
3 sen per thousand gallons, ladies and gentlemen… Even if it’s 3 sen per gallon pun, dah murah dah…
Enough, enough, enough !!!! Let’s play it simple. Like a layman. I have my product. I sell it at a price. Singapore wants to buy it, asking for a discount (just like semua orang kaya-kaya, always want everything cheap). I say “nope!!” . You want cheaper water? You get it from the moon… In fact, it’s free… huh, huh, huh….
Enough is enough Singapore. Be reasonable. Look at yourself.. From your country itself which was given free by our 1st Prime Minister, you still want everything murah!!! Try getting water from Indonesia. I think they are selling water at 3 Rupiah per gallon!!!
Leader of Malaysia Take Note:
You owe people like me and millions others for the consequent affect of your actions to the next generation.
For this water thing, 3sen per thousand gallons is rubbish. Even the decision the Singaporeans sought last time was made unethically – they let our leader(s) drunk so much he(they) couldn’t think straight to pen off.
Anyway, may God be in our side.
Let’s nego for (30sen x 5) per thousand gallons, using ‘market’ rate and relative per capita income as a benchmark. Even this is quite cheap. Should be RM3 at least.
Even if we are obligated for 3sen for 350 million gallons (for some legal reasons), lets ask for RM1,000 per 1,000 gallons above that. Let them pay or non at all.
Get back our money.
To the leaders: the future of Malaysia is your responsibility.
Assalamu’alaikum Dear Tun,
Ok Sir, point noted and message taken…..By the way Sir, Do you think the young
Malaysians should struggle to make into one of those Ivy League schools? Or should we come up
with our own and find the way to make it possible for those schools to open up their branches here
in Malaysia thus having some kind joint venture/ collaboration programs with the local universities. I
know we have done it (the twinning program) with with many foreign universities so far especially
the local private colleges but none of them are really considered as one of those Ivy Leagues. (Please
correct If I am wrong). Perhaps the government should really look into this matter if we were to
really upgrade the standard of the local universities and finally enlisted as one of the world’s best
education centres.Wassalam
May Allah Bless you and grant us the great victory
Dear Tun
Let PM Najib’s Govt deal with the water issue and then review their performance. After all, it’s water under the bridge and you were the one who negotiated this 3 sen rate with the Singapore Govt!
But you wrote recently that Proton is finally giving you face as Advisor since Dato Nadzmi became Chairman. So, why not push for an open inquiry into the MV Augusta Euro 1 fraud? Rumour is that some ex-4th floor boys, their croneys and consultants made a killing in commissions and re-sale as others did in sale of Telekom shares to GLC S’pore and Maybank’s purchase of Bank Bil Indon from, again, a S’pore party, for an exorbitant OTT valuation which even Bank Negara disputed, but was over-ruled by MoF led by yout $6 billion forex loss champ! 1% commission on the Indon bank deal is worth RM80 million!! The shadow of a certain Silhoutte seems to be looming large in these affairs.
You have so much faith in UMNO/BN and its institutions. So, why haven’t the Police and MACC taken the bull by its horns yet? Are they still too busy with the $2,400 invoice in the Teoh Boon Hock case? Why can’t you exert real severe pressure and get some results?
dpp
We are all of 1 race, the Human Race
Our governments are well known for spending money lavishly, but when come to do business, they are rather stupid !!!
Jangan lah kita menang sorak tetapi Kampong tergadai.
8)Kami yakin MALAYSIA BOLEH. Dah lama tak dengar laungan tu Tun.Rindu lah Tun.
Tun,
You are not alone. You have me crying deep inside with you.
“not raising prickly issues is a good way to make friends. ”
heh…
are these friends replying our gesture of good will …if not need make friends with them…
Dear Tun
Malaysia’s per capita incidentally is US$7,000, i.e one-fifth of Singapore US$36,000.
What is in your mind when you write the above statement ? The country under your rule for 22 years, is this the ultimate results ?
By increase the water price from 3 cent, say to 3 ringgit can the per capital increase to US$10,000 ?
The real reason is corruption, this lead to all kind of problem and inderectly deny the development of the country. You are partly responsible for the system.
Thanks
Thanks Dr Mahatir!
For pushing Singapore to be self sufficient in water and in the process created a new niche business in water management and treatment.
When the two water agreement expired ,Singapore will be self sufficient as most of the water projects would come online by then.
It is better Malaysia not to renew or renegotiate any new agreement. This will automatically remove one of the thorny issue between the 2 countries.
Good afternoon Ayahanda Tun,
The Government of Tun Abdullah is actually “over-smart” and China’s Mr Hu JinTao would deliver a pair of panda bears for Singapore to do future research and development (remarks: please take note the Panda Bear came in “Pair”, not 2 ekor as reported in Sinchew, jangan salah faham, nombor ini bukan nombor “ONG” for our No. 2). Beside for research purpose, Mr Hu presented the panda bears to thank Singapore for their support and participation in fighting for “terrorism” in China.
… your statement that:
//I suppose this charitable act would help cement friendship with that city-state with a per capita income of US$36,000 (Malaysia’s per capita incidentally is US$7,000, i.e one-fifth of Singapore).//
No wonder The Sun reported …

.. to achieve US7,000 and it’s incidentally also one-fifth of Singapore, through KL & Jakarta to forge new friendship which may not link directly to Singapore Government??
Good day Ayahanda Tun.
Assalamualaikum Tun,

Salam Tun,
Well, i totally agreed with you Tun.. previous PM mess up..i suppose he don’t think ahead caused maybe he just narrow minded..what irritated me is that our government still treat s’pore kindly with not so called win-win MoU or whatever…
for me it doesn’t matter whether Pahang want to sell it 3 sen or RM300/thousands gallons because at the end, the money will circulated in the country not outside..
my 2 cents.
http://pendapatanmasuk.blogspot.com/
From the information given, let say the price is RM3.00 per 1,000 gallons, the revenue per year is RM383.3 million (vs. RM3.8 million if at 3 sen per 1,000 gallons). This is about S$160 million per annum. I am sure the Singapore Government can afford it. Maybe the Singapore Government should recipocate by allowing us to develop our railway land there which I think should have appreciated substantially.
Dear Tun,
I think I do not understand the complete story behind this topic.
I suppose the price of water Johore is selling to Melaka is more reflecting the actual value.
So, I do not see any single reason why Singapore with much higher “Purchasing Power Parity’ should continue to enjoy the 90% discount?
Therefore, I’m adamant that a new contract should be negotiated with Singapore.
I do not think the income per capita for Melaka people is USD360,000 (90% more than the Singaporeans).
May be the government of Tun Abdullah had judged it base on the income of their cronies from Melaka?
How on earth could a Number 1 Man in the country failed mathematics and simple trading?
Heard rumours about the sand business involving the families and cronies in exchange for the super cheap water sale to Singapore. Is it true?
I do understand the process to have a more fair contract is not a straight forward thing to achieve.
However, to surrender even before the battle starts is unacceptable by any standard for a leader for a country with sovereignity.
Salam Tun.
Further to what I said, Tun, I also think any review of the agreement should also lay conditions about its use and misuse of the Malaysian water supplied. We supply it for humanitarian reasons. And not for Singapore to onward sell to ships for a huge profit. Whether it is further processed water or not I find it so offensive that water supplied for humanitarian reasons to Singapore is sold onwards to ships at humongous profits. If Singapore wants to do that than we know that that amount of water is really not needed by Singapore. The ships can always call at a Malaysian port for water if they really need it that desperately. And they can get it cheaper too!!
It’s a fact that the Malaysian Government needs additional money to balance the budget.
Should they get the extra money by (a) taxing the citizen 5% on RPGT? (b) taxing the citizen 7% on ALL goods being sold through GST? (c) asking the citizen to pay higher petrol prices by removing fuel subsidy OR (d) negotiate a fair price on water sold to Singapore?
Assuming this is a General Election poll vote next year, people.. what would your answer be?
On the water issue I am with you Tun on this. Have been so from the beginning when you made an issue of it the first time around. That time, Tun, the Singaporeans put up on the net the agreements. Of course they took it down later. I read and re-read the agreement. It talked of a review 25 years after the 1963 agreement. Singapore maintained that that should have been done on or about 1988 or thereabouts. They claimed that by about 199..something when you brought up the issue that Malaysia had forfeited its right to review as the 25 year dateline had expired.
Tun, if I read the agreement posted by the Singaporean Government on the net correctly, it was 25 years “after” the date the agreement came into effect. That time 199…,when you called for the review, it was “after” 25 years. How and why did you all let them get away with it?
Somehow, what irks me most is whenever Singapore says something then that is final. Like as if what Singapore says carries more weight as to its validity and its honesty and credibility. What is worse Malaysians too give more credit and always seem unable to dismiss what Singapore says as nonsense. Unfortunately Tun, even when you rebut Singapore, your rebut does not articulate what and how it needs to be communicated. I recall when they came up with the “Malaysian forfeiture” there was hardly anything said in response.
Salam Tun
Fortunately ex-PM Pak Dol no quality not involve come 2011, else he’d most probably agree at 30 sen per 1000 gallons and then he’d as usual unashamedly lied to us ‘big majority of Johoreans agreed’.
If the Barisan’s/UMNO’s no. 1 liability son-in-law still active in party and/or govt, sorry to DS Najib that I’ll not vote BN.
dirt cheap for 3 sen. you might as well give it FOC
I also agree with what had been said by fellow down there. As a citizen of Pahang state, i think most of us will not agree with 3-cent-agreement. This is totally ridiculous. This is also apply to the Malaysia-Singapore water agreement. If they don’t agree with our decision, stop selling….
Salam,
Bersyukur Malaysia ada byk air. Kalau tak jadilah kita mcm singapore, kena bina RO plants utk process air (air laut/air kumbahan).
Dear Tun,
It is a simple common sense. Any layman would know that if there is any new agreements to sell water to Singapore, there should be new prices according to the current market. Malaysia and Singapore can discuss diplomatically on the water issue and come to an agreement about the new water prices. It’s easy actually, if Singapore don’t like the price, then Malaysia should not be a goody-goody and sell the water at such a horrible low price.
this is my very 1st post in ur blog after following it since the 1st days it started.
So, as a citizen of pahang, i think it would be so stupid if the state government of pahang to sell our water at 3 sen per gallon,we are living in the year of 2009 and not 50 years back. Selling water at 3 sen per gallon is like giving out our precious resource for free! So the price of our water (regardless of which state the water comes from) should be revalued accordingly!
Assalamualaikum Tun,
I Understand your frustration over this issue.
You Tun have every right to bring it up especially to remind present and future leaders of Malaysia of this particular issue.
Ignore any snide remark from anyone who thinks they know better about this matter.
May Allah Bless You Tun and your Family.
Assalamulaikum Tun,
1. It is really unreasonable to continue supplying raw water to Singapore if the return profit is totally unacceptable. We are doing business here, let it be a real business. Of course we must consider our friendship with Singapore, but to continue with the ridiculous deal is not an option.
2. I hope the Malaysia government will see this problem very seriously so as not to give bad reputations to the peoples of Malaysia. Raw water is owned by all Malaysian, so make sure that the decisions are fair and reasonable.
Thank you.
Yes Tun,
Anything we do or decide, we must be very careful. They always takes advantage and most of the time we let them. Just like the Bridge you proposed, to me every time I looked at the “Artist Impression”, I wished it was built.
My point is as much as we want to have and be a good neighbour, it should be a two way street affair, however when ever it is with this neighbour it doesn’t seem to be so.
Anyway we can, if we can stop selling the water, we should, Malaysia needs are more important. If not sell it at market price.
Cinta Alam Malaysia.
Dear Tun,
Lets just talk reasonably by inflation of the the 3 sen value then and now. No additive yet. Any citizen of the world knows what real value is. Suffice to say that it exceeded 30 cent. Suffice too that payback is needed over those less settled previously.. ain’t this friendly enough?
Salam YABhgTun’
Thank you v.v much for the information that frequently the people of Malaysia has been dumbed by the previous premier. His mistake is intolerable in this mellienium as we are harpooned again and again by the so-called ‘friendly neighbour’ over the water issues. I suggest that the water treaty is put to a tendem price or atleast the same as the present inter-states dealing. DS Najib has been doing well in his administrative issues since he took over and hope that Tun will add greater momentum to go beyond or atleast to ‘QADO’ what has been lacking during the ‘DARK AGES’ years !
