WHY A NEW PARTY?

1. I am surprised that there are people asking why a new party should be formed.

2. It should not if the dominant party in the Government coalition is playing the role and upholding the objectives for which it was formed or even some semblance of them.

3. Earlier when suggestions were made for a new party to contest against UMNO, they were rejected as it was hoped that if Najib ceased to be its president, UMNO could be resuscitated and regain the support of the people. The BN could still continue to be the Government of Malaysia.

4. But rapidly this idea became untenable. For one thing the wrong doings of Najib had become more open and serious. Not only was 1MDB losing billions but it was unable to pay debts. Then it was discovered that Najib had more that 2.6 billion Ringgit in his private account. A Prime Minister of Malaysia should not have this kind of money in his account no matter how he may have acquired it.

5. Then it was found that Najib had a total grip on UMNO. Any criticism of his leadership was not tolerated. Critics were expelled and tame leaders were put in place. They all seem to be obligated to Najib despite his wrongdoings. A vote of no confidence in him became impossible.

6. A personality cult was built up so that Najib could not be challenged or deposed. Nothing else mattered to UMNO, especially to UMNO members of Parliament.

7. It became clear there was no way for a leadership change and UMNO to be resuscitated.

8. With these developments the idea of a new party to contest against UMNO became not only attractive but also absolutely necessary.

9. UMNO is a race-based party. Until 2004 this race-based party had won the support of all races through a coalition with other race-based parties. Even the multi-racial parties in the BN were race-based.

10. The sophisticated and highly educated urban people may believe that racial politics is not in keeping with the times. But on the ground it is different. For the rural people who largely are poor, race is not only important but they believe is essential for their well-being. UMNO’s popularity is because it is a racial party.

11. If the new party is to compete with UMNO, it must give the people in the rural constituencies and the unsophisticated urban constituencies the kind of comfort associated with UMNO’s kind of racism.

12. Still the new party is not to be confined to Malays only but to all indigenous people – the Bumiputeras. Besides it is ready to accept Bumis and non-Bumis as associate members.

13. I have studied the fate of the parties which won independence in other countries. Most of them have disappeared. They had lost to new parties formed after independence because invariably they forgot the purpose for which the parties are formed and abused the power accorded them for personal gains.

14. UMNO had lasted much longer. But under Najib it forgot completely the purpose for which it was formed. Najib has brought shame to this once admired country. The whole world looks down upon Najib for being the worst Finance Minister of Malaysia and for all kinds of wrong doings perpetrated by him.

15. Only a new party can revive the country’s glory of the past. The new party will take cognisance of the changes in the thinking of all Malaysians. We had made progress. Our people are better educated, and are better off in many ways. Their perceptions of things and their aspirations have changed.

16. The new party will restore democracy and the rule of la which have been denied and abused by Najib.

17. The separation of powers between the legislative, the executive and the judiciary will be upheld. Additionally the legal service represented by the Attorney-General will be separated from the judiciary. The AG may not pass judgement over reports made to the police except when the reports are vexations and irrelevant. Even then the AG must give his reasons to the public and not just say there is no case to answer. Certainly he must not put the reports under the Official Secrets Act.

18. Any suspicion of corruption must be investigated and the report made public. All Malaysian officials must be seen to live within their means. This include all members of the Cabinet.

19. Foreign observers will oversee elections and will have full access to the operations of the election, both Government and Opposition.

20. The anti-corruption commission will have non-Government members. All transactions by Government must be transparent.

21. Borrowings by the Government must not exceed amounts fixed by Parliament. Guarantees by Government should regarded as borrowings by Government.

22. These are some of the things the new party will struggle for. It will strive to improve the performance of the Government and give a better life for the people. It will try to regain the respect and honour of this nation in the eyes of the people and the world.

23. UMNO cannot do all these anymore. That is why a new party has to be formed.

24. We aspire to serve the people. We pray the people will help us achieve our aspirations for them.

    Salam Tun

The political climate in Malaysia is putting our country into a situation where there are more effort put into managing politics for the leadership to maintain and retain power rather than politics concerning the people. In Penang, the DAP Government is more concern about approving development projects rather than looking into the needs of Penangites. Development projects are so rampant even disregarding environmental concerns whereby within minutes Bayan Baru, Bayan Lepas and the whole Western area on the island will be submerge into water due to flash flood.

We believe that there should be more political parties in Malaysia to represent the people and power should not CONCENTRATE in the hands of select few. The people should vote in new parties into power so that the major stake holder in ruling the government must listen to minority parties which hold enough seats to form a coalition government. In this case the party that hold minority seats are able to pressure the ruling government to toe the line or loose the coalition support if the wishes of the people are not being met. We wish you luck in your party’s registration. We will be taking part in the democratic exercise come PRU 14.

  7. Salam Dearest YAB Tun,

    1. Earlier I opposed the idea of setting up a new party because I was not sure what kind of political party Tun had in mind. Quite a number of commentators here wanted a new party that’s opened to all (multi-racial) Malaysians, and I was afraid that Tun would listen to them (like in the case of Bersih 4.0 🙁 ). Alhamdulillah, Tun rejected that idea…

    2. And, Tun must also take note that most (majority) ‘kampong’ folks do not condone street demonstrations. So, please stay away from any street demonstrations. Tun made a big mistake when Tun attended Bersih 4.0 (cuma jadi MODAL rejim Najib untuk mengutuk/ menghina Tun, dan ramai juga orang kampong yang jadi ‘keliru’ bila lihat Tun hadir di demonstrasi jalanan).

    3. Good luck to BERSATU. As for me, I will boycott the 14th GE if DSN is still our PM (not voting). I will also not going to vote for a party that works together with Pakatan Harapan.

    Thanks Tun.

*** May Allah S.W.T. bless Tun and family ***

  8. Salam Tun

I malas nak komen sangat hal buku Tun Musa. I sekadar lihat jasa, dari segi ini Tun Mahathir menang. Banyak jasa Tun Mahahtir tu.

Zaman sekarang tengok astro punya merdeka ad, muka Tengku Abdul Rahman pun hilang diganti dengan muka Tun Razak. Kalau jasa Tun Mahahtir dilupakan so is Tengku Abdul Rahman, bapa kemerdekaan.

Tun Musa apa yang I ingat tentang beliau, isteri pertama orang Eropah, isteri kedua bekas model, anak mati dalam tragedi highland towers. As leader dengan profile begini I tak tau nak describe dia macam mana. 🙂

Ok nak komen umanrc to admin

    Salam/Selamat Pagi Admin Chedet.cc,
Yup, it is very difficult at times to keep a website running 24/7, hackers are very smart nowdays that they can even insert a scripted file into your databases. When I used to run my own website, I scheduled the database to be backed up once a day and later being erased once a week. Typically I backed it up in my desktop at home as the online server (especially shared hosting) may get infected as a total as well. Do not know how much of this info can help, but hopefully it is useful.

    Admin

I setuju dengan apa yang umanrc kata. I sendiri pernah ada website sendiri, I guna jom hosting pakai platform wordpress. Wah satu hari tu bukak terkejut tengok ada bendera Turki. Rupanya hackers Turki sudah masuk. I kena minta bantuan jom hosting. Walaupun mereka bantu buang file tapi dalam file lama masih ada link to the hackers. Memang kena cuci bersih. Kena buang sendiri habis habisan dan buat semula. Real leceh. 🙁

  9. Salam Tun,

With regards to your question, ‘why a new party?’, I believe everyone with a sound mind can answer it. There is no doubt that we need to pull up our resources in fighting off a grand theft that is billowing our the Nation today. Totally no argument about it.

Now, with regards to political ideology, yes, we may have our differences. BERSATU for example, I may not agree for it to be a political party solely for the Malay/Bumiputra, however, my disagreement only on the ideology of it. Yes, we know that non-Bumi may become an associate member, and in fact, can be appointed to a certain position in the party as well, however, by embracing democracy, grassroots member’s vote will strengthen the support for anyone in a position to make changes within the party.

By disagreeing, does it mean that I do not support the cause of this new party? Far from it, I may not register as a member, but definitely, I will give 100% support as the basis of the formation is to fight off the current injustice. This is where my statement in the first paragraph comes in, ‘we need to pull up our resources…’. By being realistic, BERSATU can’t achieve its goal if they work alone. Winning one or two constituents will practically do nothing in governing the Nation and setting things right. BERSATU needs to work along with all the current oppositions, in fact, all of them must come to a mutual agreement for the next PRU. If and only if that becomes a reality, then perhaps we’ll see changes.

    Mohon sedikit laluan Tun.

    Salam Faridina,

  10. The truth of the scandal is not disclosed properly here in Malaysia, therefore there wasn’t any action being taken so far, while at the time these “officers” are still beating around the bush on this matter, this is considered breaching of the duties required by the law. IGP and Attorney General need to own this issue and be accountable as the investigation has been slow, delayed and the findings were not tallied with the US DOJ’s report.

If Yang Di-Pertuan Agong wants to get to the bottom of this issue, any reasons why Yang Di-Pertuan Agong would still want to keep Attorney General Apandi in the position ( since he has breached his duty ) as Yang Di-Pertuan Agong has the right to remove him as per Article 145 of the Federal Constitution. It stated

    (1) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall, on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint a person who is qualified to be a judge of the Federal Constitution.

    (5) Subject to Clause (6), the Attorney General shall hold office during the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and may at any time resign his office and, unless he is a member of the Cabinet, shall receive such remuneration as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong may determine.

    (6) The person holding the office of Attorney General immediately prior to the coming into operation of this Article shall continue

Any thoughts in taking legal actions against Attorney General and IGP for not doing what they are supposed to do required from the Constitution law standspoint? We need to get this resolved once and for all as the nation is suffering from the high cost of living in the expense of stolen money that went into a group of people’ pocket.

High cost of living in Malaysia now is because we are seeing increased in

    1) toll rates,
    2) car park fares,
    3) SOSCO ( an addition RM5 per month ). Total monthly contribution in average from individual and company is about RM75.00 There are about 13 million individual contributors. There is alot of money being collected monthy.
    4) electricity bill,
    5) petrol prices not being determined at the market rate,
    6) GST ( on top of the monthly income tax we are paying now ).
    7) higher prices we paid for the imported good as a result of devalued Malaysian currency as investor confidence’ is at all time low dumping the ringgit.

The UMNO ministers should really pull a five to nine job to understand the predicaments of Malaysian is facing now from the higher cost of living standspoint, rather than making idiotic comments that is out of this world.

  11. Salam Tun.

    1. Dari Nabi Adam a.s sehinggalah yang terakhir Nabi Muhamad s.a.w , selepas itu tiada lagi.

    Wallahua’lam.

  12. Salam Dearest YAB Tun,

    1. Yes Tun, coincidentally I am one of those ‘unsophisticated’ voters Tun mentioned. I’m a voter at my hometown (with the other ‘kampong’ folks).

    2. I prefer ‘parti kampong’ that fights for the the ‘Peribumi – Bumiputera’. UMNO is no longer the ‘parti kampong’ I used to support. It has been transformed into a ‘liberal party’ by PM-5 and PM-6.

    3. Some said that this is so ‘kolot’ (race-based party & to be comfortable with our own race), but who cares. If we want to win, we must accept the reality.

    4. A vote is still a vote (1 vote) even though some believe that they are so sophisticated, educated and open-minded (liberal I guess) urban people. And, according to these people, those ‘kampong’ folks are so unsophisticated and stup*d (some did say something like this here).

    5. But I a still believe BERSATU must NOT associate itself (work together) with other current OPPOSITION parties (‘haprak’ like UMNO/BN). UMNO/BN will be so happy because they can use this issue (modal kempen PRU-14) to tarnish the image of BERSATU; the ‘kampong’ folks are not going to accept the fact that BERSATU works with those who promote LGBT, ‘murtad’, etc. We cannot deny the fact that religion plays a very important role in most peoples’ life.

    Thanks Tun.

*** May Allah S.W.T. bless Tun and family ***

  13. Assalam Tun.

    Continue from earlier post….

Thus only those with the typical “I’m only a macai” attitude will be asking “Why a New Party”!

  14. Assalam Tun.

In many UMNO divisions, the warlords are UNTOUCHABLE, which brings in a new meaning to the word PARIAH to Najib’s small world of hypocrisy unabated!

For this simple reason, the divisional heads often behave like gangsters. They are the “all-correct” and “I now all” typical kind of UMNO untouchables.
Jamal Nasir is a gangster, Nazri is the gangster, Shahril is head in perpetuity of JB UMNO mafia, Salleh Keruak is trying to learn how to be an untouchable mafia ……

  15. Assalamualaikum Ayahanda Tun,

    Wasalam Tun.

p/s – Blog chedetcc sudah boleh diakses tetapi tidak boleh log in namun kami boleh log in di platform sementara iaitu http://www.serambichedet.com so maybe you guys can give it a try to comment.

  16. Assalam Dearest Tun,

Alhamdullilah we can still view your thoughts via these temporary platform I suppose.

Thank you for explaining the needs of a new political party and we will be joining Bersatu to correct all the wrong doings of Najib and his party.

Agrees with you Sir with regards to the above recommendations and suggestions.

If I may add, I would suggest that after this nobody except the Raja2 Melayu are exempted from Income Tax because I seriously believe that by doing so it will drastically reduce corruption at all levels.

Inland Revenue can be a good source of tracking income which doesn’t fit the way of life of a Prime Minister and his cabinet members and families and all politicians for that matter.

YB’s should be as equal as citizen cum taxpayers!

May Allah grant you with good health to save us the rakyat, Sir.

    Wasalam Tun.
