Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Tuan-Tuan dan Puan-Puan,

GLOBAL WARMING
1. In the last decade humanity has become aware and concerned over global warming. We believe that the warming is due to the generation of heat from all kinds of human activities.
2. The worlds’ population has increased tremendously. Every one of us gives off heat. We need to cook food and warm ourselves in winter. We burn fuel for our engines and power generation, producing heat.
3. We cut down our forests and we experience huge forest fires. All combustion processes produce heat and carbon dioxide. Our expanding settlement involve cutting down trees which reduces heat and the conversion of CO2 to Oxygen.
4. All these things contribute to global warming. But we must not forget that planet earth has been going through many changes in its millions of years of existence.
5. We know that the earth was once populated by dinosaurs, living in forests of trees. We know that the dinosaurs had disappeared along with the trees. We believe the trees had undergone some kind of physical and chemical process and have been converted to liquid, solid and gaseous hydrocarbons. As petroleum, we have mined and burned the hydrocarbons to produce energy.
6. Then there were the ice ages when the earth was covered with ice. Nothing could grow. There could be no living creatures, no men nor animals nor trees.
7. Then the ice thawed and huge oceans covered the planet. From the bottom of the oceans the earth emerged to form huge land masses, slowly shaping into the continents that we are familiar with today.
8. A very long time ago life began to appear on our planet. Eventually, primitive men appeared. They evolved until modern men peopled the earth.
9. Through all these periods the world experienced big changes in temperature. For the past maybe 100,000 years the temperature became suitable for life. Plants, animals and men thrived. The earth moved, rotating every 24 hours, tilting so that the north and the south become alternately cold or warm, while the equatorial area stayed warm as the sun shines over the tropics throughout the year.
10. The rise in temperature we are experiencing now is part of the changes the planet goes through. It may get worse. We need to prepare for this change. We must expect more natural disasters.
FOREX
1. Najib keeps on talking about the 30 billion Ringgit which was lost by Bank Negara.
2. When he was Prime Minister he set up a Royal Commission to examine the role I allegedly played in covering up the loss.
3. The accusation was purely verbal. A bank officer stated that Bank Negara lost 30 billion Ringgit through currency trading. The Bank hid the loss and allegedly I also hid the loss.
4. I was not involved in the actual operation of the Bank. If indeed the money was lost, the investigation should be with regard to the operation of the Bank.
5. In fact, when the losses became public, the matter was brought to Parliament to be discussed and debated.
6. This is unlike Najib’s reaction to the 1MDB infamy when the Parliament was directed not to allow the issue to be tabled let alone discussed.
7. Furthermore, top Bank Negara officials had repeatedly affirmed that they did not report to the Prime Minister or Finance Minister/s over the forex losses and were prepared to be accountable.
8. All these facts are available in public records.
9. In the final analysis, is there any proof that I had benefitted from the losses.
10. I believe the principle of cui bono, who benefits, applies. Did any money end up in my accounts? Obviously, none.
11. However, in the 1MDB and SRC cases, millions ended up into Najib’s accounts and he happily spent the money for his personal benefit. This is the findings of the courts and he had been found guilty by both the High Court and Court of Appeal.
PARTI PEJUANG TANAHAIR
10. Siapakah mereka??
A MATTER OF SOVEREIGNTY
1. When Ismail Sabri went to Singapore for an official visit, I did not really expect him to raise, let alone solve any outstanding bilateral issues that we have been having with the city State.
2. In fact, when I resigned as Prime Minister, on both accounts, none of the succeeding Prime Ministers bothered or were interested to solve the bilateral issues.
3. The price of raw water sold to Singapore remain at 3 sen per 1000 gallons today, a rate that we continue to receive since 1962 when the Johor River Water Agreement was reached.
4. Three sen is like providing water for nothing.
5. Despite millions if not, hundreds of millions lost in revenue, none has shown any interest to resolve the matter and to renegotiate with Singapore.
6. There are also issues of withdrawal of money from the Central Provident Fund for peninsular Malaysians working in Singapore apart from maritime and airspace boundary disputes.
7. Then it was reported that Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Ismail Sabri Yaakob had proposed to revive the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR).
8. I was taken aback. In January this year the Mahiaddin Government had terminated the agreement. An exorbitant RM320 million in compensation had to be paid to Singapore.
9. Ismail Sabri was part of that Government. And now that he is Prime Minister he is proposing to resurrect something he was party to in terminating the project.
10. When I was Prime Minister of the PH Administration, I tried to revive negotiation on the outstanding issues. The Foreign Minister then was Saifuddin Abdullah who incidentally is back as Foreign Minister today.
11. Of course the Sheraton Move caused the demise of effort and progress we had made in negotiating with Singapore.
12. Rather than reviving the HSR, which could well be complemented by the double tracking project, we should instead focus on developing the South Ledge of Batu Putih.
13. We had been accorded sovereignty over South Ledge, while losing Pedra Branca to Singapore, by the ICJ.
14. I had proposed for South Ledge to be reclaimed and expanded and a marine base be built to establish and stamp our sovereignty.
15. We will always have thorny bilateral issues with our neighbours. But we will not go to war. We believe in peaceful resolution and negotiations.
16. But while we aspire to be good neighbours, to be friendly, it cannot be at the expense of our territorial integrity, much more our sovereignty. It is about prioritising.
KLEPTOKRASI
1. Puad Zarkashi berkata kononnya saya cuma tahu perkataan Kleptokrasi sahaja. Tidak benar. Saya guna banyak perkataan lain. Saya juga guna perkataan penyangak, pencuri, kawaq, perasuah.
7. Alhamdulillah. Malaysia mungkin buat rekod sekali lagi kerana banduan di anugerah jawatan Perdana Menteri.
8. Segala-gala the Rule of Law dihormati.
TOLERATING CORRUPTION
1. In the Melaka state election the BN won a two-thirds majority. This is the party which was rejected by the electorate in 2018, just 3 years ago because its leader was totally corrupt and had stolen billions of Ringgit of Government money. The same convicted leader led the campaign in the Melaka election. He is still facing more charges in court today. Yet his party won with a huge majority.
2. What can we say about the voters of Melaka who delivered this result? Is it possible that they have forgotten the crimes committed by Najib. Or is it that they have forgiven him. Or is it because they believe his claim that he is innocent. Or is it because the voters did not care; that to them corruption is acceptable because they got something for themselves from this corrupt leader.
3. Whatever, for these people corruption and even stealing money seems alright, especially after some time has passed. The corrupt leader should still be supported.
4. With this mindset they are likely to bring back corrupt leaders at the next General Election. What kind of country will Malaysia be when corrupt politicians rule the country?
5. Remember how greatly respected Malaysia was before Najib. It was known as an Asian Tiger. It was regarded as a model by many countries. Under a corrupt leader Malaysia is labelled a kleptocracy, a country led by thieves.
6. It is not likely that the kleptocrat would change. The principle will still be “Cash is King”. Government money would still be stolen.
7. If before an Asian Tiger could be brought down and replaced by a kleptocracy, this time it could be worse. Remember the kleptocrat has shown no remorse over his stealing, corruption and abuse of power even when he was found guilty. Without remorse or regret he is not going to change his ways. If at all he would be worse because, despite being charged and found guilty he is a free man. Indeed he is well regarded and treated with respect. For all his crimes, the Government is still rewarding him with a hundred million Ringgit. So why should he stop being corrupt and stop stealing money, since he would still be respected and rewarded.
8. And when he or his colleagues lead future Governments, they would continue to corrupt everyone including the administrative machinery. Malaysia would become a totally corrupt country which no one would invest in or visit.
9. Deprived of investments no jobs would be created to cater for the thousands of graduates produced every year. And others who are not qualified would remain jobless. Businesses, big and small would fail. The country would go into depression. It would be a failed country.
10. That is the price we will have to pay when we tolerate corruption in our society.
ANTARA PAJAK DAN PERCUMA
6. Kalau ada salah laku, siasatlah. Dah 18 tahun saya berhenti dari Kerajaan semasa jadi Perdana Menteri pertama kali. Selama itu, saya jadi Perdana Menteri semula 22 bulan. Apabila jadi PM kali kedua, pencen saya dihentikan. Pencen diberi balik selepas saya berhenti dari jadi PM kali kedua.
7. Macam-macam tuduhan yang dibuat tentang “salah laku” saya. Kalau benar dakwa lah. Kalau bersalah hukumlah.
8. Malahan masa saya mula buka mulut pasal 1MDB berbagai usaha nak tuduh saya buat salah dilakukan kepimpinan masa itu.
9. Bila gagal sampai tukang masak saya pun di lucut jawatan.
10. Isteri saya pun turut disoal siasat. LHDN pula siasat anak-anak saya.
“Nothing to Hide”.
THE RULE OF LAW
1. Malaysia is said to believe in the rule of law. The essence of the rule of law is that it must apply equally to every individual. There may be a range of punishment in consideration of the seriousness or otherwise of the crime. But everyone is entitled to be punished within the same range of fines or imprisonment.
2. Still monarchs are given certain exemption but for most crimes the law applies equally.
3. In Malaysia we are seeing blatant discrimination in the practice of the law. Specifically, we see vastly different treatment between Anwar Ibrahim and Najib Razak.
4. While the police broke Anwar’s door and arrested him, handcuffed and thrown into a police car to be detained before he was charged in court, Najib was never arrested or handcuffed or taken to a lockup in a police car. He goes to the court in his car and after the hearing he went home. Yet the charges against him are more serious.
5. Even when he was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years jail and a fine of more than 200 million Ringgit, he has not paid his fine or been jailed simply because he had appealed his case.
6. When a person is found guilty, he is guilty until the appeal court decide that he is innocent. But the appeal court has not decided that he is innocent. Therefore, he is guilty and he should serve his sentence. But he is treated like an innocent person, not paying his fine or jailed.
7. As far as is known no other person has been treated this way. More than that he is now allowed to leave the country. Again, there is no such precedent anywhere.
8. With Najib remaining free, it has allowed him to undermine the High Court’s decision and inevitably undermine the whole institution. And given Najib’s sphere of influence, he is able to spread this mischief among his followers who are naive and gullible.
9. On what basis are these privileges given to Najib when it was not given to Anwar or any other convicted person. Clearly the rule of law has not been applied equally between them. All these may be claimed as legal but they are not in accordance with the rule of law.
10. And now the Government has decided to reward him for his so-called service to the country. Yes, other retired Prime Ministers have been awarded old Government houses in recognition of their service. These PMs have not committed any crime and had not been found guilty of stealing Government money. Najib borrowed billions of Ringgit which have not been recovered. Now the Government has to pay interest on the loans amounting to 2 billion Ringgit a year for decades. Government will also have to pay the loans amounting to 40 billion Ringgit.
11. Yet the Government proposes to reward Najib with RM66 million worth of land and build a house at RM40 million Ringgit for Najib. Legal but not in accord with requirement for equal treatment before the law.
12. Najib is a convicted criminal who had lost billions of Ringgit of Government money. But the Government of Ismail Sabri thinks stealing and losing Government money and forcing the Government to pay billions back for the loan that Najib had borrowed deserved to be rewarded with 100 million Ringgit.
13. What is clear is that the Government of Ismail Sabri has not adhered to the equality before the laws as expected by the rule of law. No other convicted person in Malaysia has been treated the way Najib is being treated.
14. There is a need for the Governments of Mahiaddin Yassin (Perikatan Nasional) and Ismail Sabri to explain why the treatment of a convict like Datuk Seri Najib is different from all other convicts in Malaysia, all other retired PMs of Malaysia.
